Speaker 0

你完全听懂了对方在说什么。

You understood everything that was said.

Speaker 0

你心里有想法、有观点,甚至还想讲个笑话。

You had ideas, opinions, maybe even a joke.

Speaker 0

可轮到你开口时,说出来的却比你原本想的短,也比你母语里表达得简单多了。

But when it was your turn to speak, your answer came out shorter than you wanted or more basic than how you would say it in your own language.

Speaker 1

嘿,米歇尔。

Hey, Michelle.

Speaker 1

最近怎么样?

How's it going?

Speaker 0

嘿,林赛。

Hey, Lindsey.

Speaker 0

你怎么样?

How are you?

Speaker 0

我这边一切都挺好的。

Everything's good over here.

Speaker 1

挺好的。

All good.

Speaker 1

一切都好。

All good.

Speaker 1

这周没出车祸。

No car accidents this week.

Speaker 1

我这边总算放心了。

Thank goodness on my end.

Speaker 1

不过

But

Speaker 0

借你吉言。

Knock on wood.

Speaker 0

借你吉言。

Knock on wood.

Speaker 0

Lindsey,你有没有在停车场刮过车?

Knock on Lindsey, have you ever dinged your car in a parking lot?

Speaker 1

我确实被冤枉过。

I've been accused of it.

Speaker 0

真的吗?

Oh, really?

Speaker 1

没有。

No.

Speaker 1

没有。

No.

Speaker 1

说实话,我肯定干过这事儿,但有一次我从我兄弟家车道倒车出来,后头明明啥都没有。

Like, I I've definitely I'm sure I've done it, but there have also been times when there was one time I was pulling out of my brother's driveway, and there was literally nothing behind me.

Speaker 1

可突然间车身上就多了一个大凹痕,我完全搞不懂怎么回事,后头根本没人啊。

But then all of a sudden, there was a big ding in the car, and I don't understand what happened because there was nothing behind me.

Speaker 1

我意思就是,这种没看见任何东西却被说是撞了的情况,才叫被冤枉。

So that's what I mean by being accused of it because I didn't see anything.

Speaker 1

我既没看见也没听见,可车就是被撞了。

I didn't hear anything, but there was a ding.

Speaker 1

那你呢

So what about

Speaker 0

你碰到过吗,就是车上莫名被撞出坑的事?

you, There was a ding.

Speaker 0

对

Yeah.

Speaker 0

其实就在我生儿子之前,我碰到过一次比凹坑严重的事,但也算不上什么严重的事故。

Well, right before I had my son, actually, this was a little more than a ding, but it wasn't a bad accident or anything.

Speaker 0

我那回真的做了个超蠢的决定——我儿子刚好是感恩节前后出生的,结果黑五那天,我们一家子居然要去商场逛。

This was not my smartest move, but my son was born around Thanksgiving time, and on Black Friday, we all decided to go to the mall.

Speaker 1

我的天呐。

Oh gosh.

Speaker 0

然后我们在停车场的时候,就被一位女士给撞了。

And we were in the parking lot, and some lady, like, hit us in the parking lot.

Speaker 0

我得说,那个坑比小凹痕严重点,但也没撞得特别离谱,就是还好的那种程度。

So I would say, like, it it it was a little more than a ding, but it wasn't it wasn't terrible or anything.

Speaker 0

但是

But

Speaker 1

你们交换了保险信息吗?

Did you exchange insurance?

Speaker 1

因为通常我们碰到这种事,都是这么处理的。

Because usually when we see this happen yeah.

Speaker 1

他换了。

He did.

Speaker 1

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我们换了。

We did.

Speaker 0

她人挺好的。

She was nice.

Speaker 0

你懂的。

You know?

Speaker 0

她对这事态度挺好,也不道歉。

She was nice about it and unapologetic.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

不过呢。

But yeah.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,现在我住的是房子,还有车库,有时候啊,就……

I mean, I've I mean so now that I live in a house and I have a garage, sometimes will just yeah.

Speaker 0

就是进出车库的时候,一不留神,哎呀,糟了。

Like, the, you know, the the getting into the garage or getting out of the garage, like, won't be paying attention and I'll Oh, no.

Speaker 1

哎呀,不好。

Oh, no.

Speaker 1

挺好。

Great.

Speaker 1

美容维修这事儿,真不便宜。

Bodywork is bodywork is not cheap.

Speaker 1

这几年我才算真明白了。

That's what I've learned in the last couple of years.

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh, no.

Speaker 1

真的特别贵。

It's really not cheap.

Speaker 1

你别说小刮小蹭了,修一次起码得花一千块起。

Like, I feel like even if you have a small ding, you're gonna pay, like, a minimum of $1,000 to get it fixed.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我不介意外观上有点小问题,但问题是,我车里老弹出故障提醒,一看到就头疼,哎呀,又来了。

And I don't mind cosmetically, but I'm you know, I've had things alerts on my car that show up, and then I break like oh, yeah.

Speaker 0

嗯,是啊。

Well mhmm.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

在车库里,我把大灯撞坏了,不过还好,也就花了八百美金左右。

On the garage, I did break my my headlight, and it was Okay.

Speaker 0

大概八百美金吧。

Like $800 or something.

Speaker 1

看来今天咱们对你有点新了解了,米歇尔。

Think we're learning some things about you today, Michelle.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

我开车太慢了,但一进车库就出问题。

I drive too slow, but then I have trouble with garages.

Speaker 0

所以

So

Speaker 1

可能我们的听众已经注意到,我们刚才反复用了一个词

maybe our listeners noticed here what word we were using over and over

Speaker 0

叮叮

Ding ding.

Speaker 1

叮叮叮

Ding ding ding.

Speaker 1

对

Yes.

Speaker 1

就是这个

That's it.

Speaker 0

对

Yes.

Speaker 0

对吧

Right?

Speaker 0

我们接下来要聊聊这个,因为我们的热心听众索菲亚问了我们一个关于‘ding’这个词的问题。

And we're gonna talk about this because our wonderful listener, Sophia, asked us a question about the word ding.

Speaker 0

林赛,你来帮我们读一下好吗?

Lindsey, would you like to read it for us?

Speaker 1

好啊。

Yes.

Speaker 1

索菲亚说:嗨,Allers English团队。

So Sofia says, hi, Allers English team.

Speaker 1

我叫索菲亚。

I'm Sofia.

Speaker 1

我想说,我超爱你们的风格。

I just want to say I absolutely love your energy.

Speaker 1

你们每期节目都让我笑个不停,还特别有动力学英语。

Your episodes always make me smile and keep me motivated to learn.

Speaker 1

这真是太棒了,米歇尔。

That is so wonderful, Michelle.

Speaker 1

谢谢你,索菲亚。

Thank you, Sofia.

Speaker 1

你太棒了。

You're the best.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我们特别喜欢这样。

We love that.

Speaker 1

我很好奇,你能解释一下英文里‘ding’这个单词是怎么用的吗?

I was curious if you could explain how the word ding, d I n g, is used in English.

Speaker 1

我想更深入了解,也想听听你们的建议。

I'd love to understand it better and hear your tips.

Speaker 1

非常感谢你们让学英语变得这么有趣又生动。

Thanks so much for making learning English so fun and lively.

Speaker 1

你们真的让我的一天都亮起来了。

You really brighten up my day.

Speaker 1

萨菲亚,祝你一切顺利。

Warmly, Sofia.

Speaker 1

太美了。

Beautiful.

Speaker 1

索菲亚。

Sophia.

Speaker 1

嗯,

Well,

Speaker 0

你也是。

right back at you.

Speaker 0

谢谢你提这个问题。

And thank you for your question.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

所以,说实话,这问题问得真好。

So, I mean, yeah, great question.

Speaker 0

我特别期待看这一期,因为我最近正在挑车。

I was I was excited to see this one because I am currently car shopping.

Speaker 1

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

我刚跟销售聊过,还真的用了‘ding’这个词。

And I was just speaking to a salesman, and I did use the word ding.

Speaker 0

这词特别常见。

It's extremely common.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yes.

Speaker 0

那今天我们就来聊聊这个。

So that's what we're gonna be talking about today.

Speaker 0

不过,Lindsay,咱们先从哪儿开始呢?

But what do we wanna do first, Lindsay?

Speaker 1

当然啦,我们得先感谢那些花时间给我们打分、写评论的听众朋友们。

Well, of course, we wanna say thank you to our amazing reviewers who took the time to go and rate and review the show and left a comment.

Speaker 1

特别感谢约瑟夫·沙哈比和梅赫迪·阿萨迪!

So a huge thank you to Yosef Shahabi and a huge thank you to Mehdi Asadi.

Speaker 1

兄弟们,每次看到你们的评论我们都会认真读,真的特别感激。

So, guys, we read your reviews every time they come out, and we appreciate them.

Speaker 1

还没给我们留评论的朋友们,赶紧去写一个吧。

If you haven't left us a review yet, guys, go ahead and do that.

Speaker 1

告诉我们你对这档节目的看法。

Let us know what you think of the show.

Speaker 1

甚至可以在评论里直接提你想要问的问题,我们可能会在节目里大声念出你的名字。

Maybe even ask your episode question right in your review, and we'll try to announce your name out loud.

Speaker 1

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

当然。

Absolutely.

Speaker 0

太棒了。

Perfect.

Speaker 0

是的。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

所以啊。

So, yeah.

Speaker 0

那‘ding’这个词到底是什么意思呢,林赛?

So what does it mean to ding something, Lindsey?

Speaker 0

我觉得我们的听众从我们之前说的大概也能猜到。

I think our listeners can kinda get it from what we've been saying.

Speaker 1

问得好,米歇尔。

Good question, Michelle.

Speaker 1

说实话,今天挺有意思的,因为我们在这档节目里已经把‘ding’既当动词又当名词用了,对吧?

And honestly, it's interesting today because we're actually using ding as we've already so far used ding as a verb and as a noun, right, in this show.

Speaker 1

所以作为动词,‘ding’某物就是弄出一个小痕迹。

So to ding something as a verb is to just, well, make a little mark.

Speaker 0

没错。

Right.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

就是一点小损伤。

It's it's minor damage.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

通常就是个小划痕、小凹陷之类的。

It's it's generally some sort of small mark or tiny dent or something like that.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

哎呀,不好了。

So oh, no.

Speaker 0

我觉得我停车时把后视镜刮了。

I think I dinged my mirror on the garage.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

但后来我仔细一看,根本不是凹痕。

But then in my send in my way, it was not a ding.

Speaker 1

哦,是裂开了。

Oh, It like, broke.

Speaker 0

天啊,糟糕。

It well oh, no.

Speaker 0

不是。

No.

Speaker 0

不是。

No.

Speaker 0

我还以为是大灯坏了呢。

And I thought that was the headlight.

Speaker 0

不好意思。

Excuse me.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 1

或者你可以直接告诉丹,我觉得车被刮了,他可能会说,

Or you might go ahead and say to Dan, oh, I think I dinged the car and he goes, I said,

Speaker 0

然后他一看。

then he looks.

Speaker 1

这哪叫刮痕啊。

That's not a ding.

Speaker 1

你在说什么呢?

What are you talking about?

Speaker 0

对,没错。

Yeah, yep.

Speaker 1

或者我 bumper 被刮了,但根本看不出来。

Or I dinged my bumper, but you can barely see anything.

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yes.

Speaker 1

这正是我们希望的。

That's what we hope for.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

那‘ding’这个词还有别的意思吗?

So what else does ding mean though?

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

你刚才开头说的那句话到底是什么意思?

Mean, what exactly what you said at the top of the show?

Speaker 1

叮,叮,叮。

Ding, ding, ding.

Speaker 1

当你答对了某个问题时,那就是我们模仿铃声的‘叮’声。

So when you get the right answer for something, it's the sound we make for a bell.

Speaker 1

就是铃铛在响的时候。

When a bell is ringing.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

没错。

Yep.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,叮叮叮。

I mean, ding ding ding.

Speaker 0

就是说,你答对了,完全对了。

Like, you got it like, you got it right.

Speaker 1

而且它

And it

Speaker 0

可以用在讽刺的场合,或者认真的时候。

could be used sarcastically or, you know, seriously.

Speaker 0

比如,不是真认真,但叮叮叮,你答对了。

Like, I mean, not seriously, but ding ding ding, you're right.

Speaker 0

或者叮叮叮,你终于答对了,对吧?

Or it can be ding ding ding, you finally got it, right?

Speaker 1

是啊,我的意思是,你小时候有没有看过电视上的游戏节目?

Yeah, I mean, you think of, I don't know if when you were a kid you used to watch the game shows on TV.

Speaker 0

对啊,当然有。

Yeah, sure.

Speaker 1

像《幸运轮盘》之类的,我不确定还有啥,但九十年代下午电视上可多了。

You know, Wheel of Fortune, I don't know what else there was, but there were a ton of them in the nineties that were out, like in the afternoon TV, you know?

Speaker 1

不过那些节目老爱用这种音效。

But they always used that kind of thing.

Speaker 0

叮叮叮叮,对吧?或者你想想赛跑的时候,有时候是开枪发令,但有时候也可能是个铃铛。

Ding ding ding ding Yeah, Or you might hear like someone, if you're maybe in a race, I mean, sometimes they use a gun in a race to have someone start running, but maybe it's some sort of bell.

Speaker 0

所以你可以说,听到‘叮’一声就开跑。

So you could say something like, oh, when you hear the ding, start running.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错。

That's true.

Speaker 1

不过你知道吗,你现在有在看冬奥会吗?

But it you know, I don't know if you're watching the Olympics now.

Speaker 1

现在是二月中旬左右。

Right now, we are in we're we're in mid February.

Speaker 1

这期节目预计四月播出,但眼下是二月中旬。

This comes out in, I think, April, but mid February.

Speaker 1

不同场合听到的声音,说法也不一样。

And there are different words for the sounds you hear.

Speaker 1

昨晚我看了滑雪比赛,超级大回转和大回转。

Like, I was watching the skiing last night, the super g, the giant slalom.

Speaker 1

顺便说,太酷了。

So cool, by the way.

Speaker 1

那种情况下,我可能会说‘蜂鸣器’响了。

And for that one, I would have said probably the buzzer.

Speaker 1

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

蜂鸣器一响,她就冲过了终点。

The buzzer went off, and she crossed.

Speaker 1

这事儿改天可以单独做一期。

So that could be another episode for another day.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

挺有意思的。

That's fun.

Speaker 0

叮的一声,那

The ding, the

Speaker 1

是蜂鸣器,那嗡嗡声。

The buzzer, the buzz.

Speaker 1

我不清楚。

I don't know.

Speaker 1

各种各样的情况。

Different things.

Speaker 1

所以嘛。

So Yeah.

Speaker 1

总之吧。

Anyways.

Speaker 0

如果是那种声音的话

If it's the sound of

Speaker 1

是铃声的话,就是叮叮叮。

a bell, it's ding ding ding.

Speaker 0

对,没错。

Yes, exactly.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

不好意思,我刚记了一下这个。

Sorry, I was just making note of that.

Speaker 0

不过今天咱们重点讲讲车子的刮蹭,还会教你们一些描述车损的其他说法。

So, but today we're gonna really focus on the car way a So little we're gonna teach you other words for damage to one's car.

Speaker 0

那第一个词是什么,林赛?

So what's the first one, Lindsey?

Speaker 1

第一个是‘刮痕’。

The first one is a scuff.

Speaker 1

这通常是指漆面的划伤,但有时候能擦掉。

So this is generally with paint, but sometimes it can be wiped off.

Speaker 1

咱们都希望是这种能擦掉的。

That's what we hope for.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 0

你有没有过那种情况,开门的时候不小心碰到了别人的车?

Have you ever had that where you're, maybe you open the door onto someone else's No.

Speaker 1

最烦人了。

It's the worst.

Speaker 1

然后你就想,哎呀。

And you're like, ugh.

Speaker 1

不会吧。

No.

Speaker 0

然后你轻轻一碰,结果就掉了,真是这样。

Then you just kinda, like, touch it and it just That's comes Yeah.

Speaker 0

那还算幸运了。

And that's a relief.

Speaker 1

这算是最好的情况了。

That's the best case scenario.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

我轻轻撞了她的车,估计是刮花了,不过我用手指一擦就弄掉了。

I bumped her car a little, so I think I scuffed it up, but I was able to rub it off with my finger.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yes.

Speaker 1

现在要是留了划痕就麻烦了。

Now a scratch is worse.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对。

Yep.

Speaker 0

再深一点。

Deeper.

Speaker 0

漆面有划痕。

Scratches to the paint.

Speaker 0

所以啊。

So Yeah.

Speaker 0

这可真是个问题。

That could be an actual issue.

Speaker 0

哎呀,糟了。

So, oh, no.

Speaker 0

我车上有道划痕。

There's a scratch on my car.

Speaker 0

车是全新的。

It's brand new.

Speaker 1

再往深了说,米歇尔,是什么?

And even deeper, Michelle, is what?

Speaker 0

凹得挺深的。

A dense.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

所以这时候车的金属部分就被撞进去了。

So that's when the actual kind of metal of the car is pushed in.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

车的形状都变了。

There's a change to the shape.

Speaker 1

没错。

Right.

Speaker 1

所以你可以说,那次事故让我的车撞出了个大凹痕。

So you could say there's a huge dent in my car from that accident.

Speaker 1

希望保险能赔吧。

I hope insurance will cover it.

Speaker 1

这种情况真能让你没完没了地往修理厂跑。

This is where you could just end up at the body shop over and over and over again.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh god.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh god.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

也不是说啊,

Not So,

Speaker 1

米歇尔,这种事儿有好多说法呢。

Michelle, there are a lot of words for these kinds of situations.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

要不咱们改天再继续聊?

So maybe we could do a follow-up another day.

Speaker 1

朋友们,记得点关注!

Guys, hit the follow button.

Speaker 1

我们之前做过一个系列,叫《聊聊汽车》。

We did do a series called Let's Talk Cars.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

第一集叫《聊聊汽车:第一部分》,讲的是为什么‘connection’这个词在美国人那儿这么用。

So the first episode was let's talk cars part one, why that's spelled connection with Americans.

Speaker 0

那是第2549期。

That was episode twenty five forty nine.

Speaker 0

然后我们还做了《商务英语521》。

And then we had business English five twenty one.

Speaker 0

那期就是《聊聊汽车:第二部分》。

That was let's talk cars part two.

Speaker 0

在商务对话中掌握主动权。

Take the wheel in your business conversations.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我们录这个系列的时候,我就意识到咱们的主题其实挺有意思的。

And when we recorded that series, you know, I I saw our topic.

Speaker 1

嗯,是这样。

Like, okay.

Speaker 1

我们本来打算聊车。

We're gonna talk about cars.

Speaker 1

挺棒的。

Cool.

Speaker 1

但等到系列结束时,我才明白,这其实是融入美国文化的一个关键切入点。

But then by the end of that series, I thought this is really a key to connecting, at least inside American culture.

Speaker 1

英国或澳大利亚的情况我不敢说,但在这里,这确实是文化中很重要的一部分。

We can't speak about British or Australian, but but it's a big part of our culture here.

Speaker 0

太对了,完全没错。

It's a huge yeah.

Speaker 0

没错。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

汽车确实是个超棒的聊天话题,大家一定要去听听那期内容。

It's a great connection topic, so definitely listen.

Speaker 0

另外,那个系列的第三期就是《聊聊汽车》第三集:必备汽车词汇。

And also, the third part of that series was Let's Talk Cars Part three, Essential Car Vocabulary.

Speaker 0

刚才那期是25.58集哦。

That was twenty five point five eight.

Speaker 1

各位,都听到了吧。

There you go, guys.

Speaker 1

我们已经给大家挑了好几期优质节目,有空去看看吧。

You got some great episodes picked out for you to check out.

Speaker 1

米歇尔,那接下来咱们再讲几个有意思的词汇知识点吧。

Michelle, was there now let's do a few more fun vocabulary pieces here.

Speaker 0

这个挺有意思的。

This is this is a fun.

Speaker 0

这个听着挺有趣。

This one sounds fun.

Speaker 1

意思是,这个

Mean, this

Speaker 0

挺好玩的。

is fun.

Speaker 0

只要大家都没事,轻微刮蹭而已。

As long as everyone's Okay, a fender bender.

Speaker 0

对,通常都是这样。

Yeah, Usually

Speaker 1

轻微刮蹭一般都没事,对吧?

everyone is Okay in a fender bender, right?

Speaker 0

差不多就是这个意思

That's that's kind what

Speaker 1

我们的意思就是个小事故。

we're saying is it's a small accident.

Speaker 1

所以你的保险杠吧?呃,我对车不太懂,不过我觉得

So your your fender I well, I'm not really a car person, but I guess

Speaker 0

不就是这么回事吗?

it's sort of isn't it

Speaker 1

就是那种 bumper 吧?

like the bumper kind of?

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

不对。

No.

Speaker 1

啊,原来是这样。

Oh, it's Oh,

Speaker 0

比如林赛。

like, Lindsay.

Speaker 0

我们也不是特别清楚。

We don't exactly know.

Speaker 0

我正在搜一下 bumper 下面那个 fender 是啥。

I'm googling a fender on a below the bumper.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

就是金属或者塑料的。

It's the metal or plastic.

Speaker 0

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

我在看呢。

Reading it.

Speaker 0

金属或塑料的车身面板。

Metal or plastic body panel.

Speaker 0

它围绕着轮拱。

It frames the wheel wall.

Speaker 1

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 1

懂了。

Okay.

Speaker 1

好嘞。

Okay.

Speaker 1

所以你是说,

So So you

Speaker 0

你没错。

were right.

Speaker 1

所谓挡泥板变形,就是你的挡泥板不知道怎么被撞歪了。

So a fender bed is when, you know, your fender has been bent somehow.

Speaker 1

就是个小刮蹭。

So a tiny accident.

Speaker 1

所以塔尼娅碰上了一次小擦碰。

So Tanya got into a fender bender.

Speaker 1

她本人没事,就是车上有几道小划痕。

She's fine, but her car has some minor scratches.

Speaker 1

这么说挺好的,算是种沟通技巧,因为如果你说塔尼娅出了事故,别人可能会想得更严重。

It's good to say this as a connection skill because if you say Tanya got into an accident, people might start to more.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

没错。

Right.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

Exactly。

Exactly.

展开剩余字幕(还有 217 条)
Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

确实如此。

That is true.

Speaker 0

听起来确实没那么像严重事故。

It does sound less than a true accident.

Speaker 0

对啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

就是这个意思。

And so right.

Speaker 0

你说‘小刮蹭’,就能让人没那么紧张。

You you saying fender bender will kinda keep that panic away.

Speaker 1

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

这种小事故可能发生在停车场,也可能发生在堵车时,大家开得都不快,或者在停车标志那儿,有人拐错弯,诸如此类的情况。

And these kinds of accidents could happen in a parking lot, could happen in, like, traffic, heavy traffic where people are not moving that fast, Or a stop sign maybe, where someone makes the wrong turn, that kind of thing.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

然后就是被撞了,对吧?

And then there's hit, right?

Speaker 0

我的车被撞了,但幸运的是我当时根本不在车里。

My car was hit, but luckily I wasn't even in it.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

你知道吗,Aubrey 有个挺吓人的经历,她上高中或者大学时出过车祸。

You know, I know Aubrey has a scary story about being in a car accident when she was in, I think, high school or college.

Speaker 1

对啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

但这其实是个拉近距离的时刻,因为通过这些事,你能特别了解一个人的过去,他们经历过什么。

But it is a connection moment because you learn a lot about people, about their past, about things they've been through Yeah.

Speaker 1

当你能聊起自己经历过的事故时,对吧?

When you're able to talk about any accidents you've been in, right?

Speaker 1

愿上帝保佑,千万别出事。

God forbid.

Speaker 1

真够狠的。

Mean

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

敲敲木头,敲敲木头。

Knock on wood, knock on wood.

Speaker 0

我本来都不敢计划这事,因为我心里没底。

I hesitated to even plan this because I'm so know.

Speaker 0

挺怪的。

Weird

Speaker 1

你对这些事儿也太迷信了吧。

about You're so superstitious about these things.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

挺有意思的。

It's funny.

Speaker 0

我平时不觉得自己是迷信的人,可现在见什么都想敲一敲。

I don't think of myself as a super stitious person, but I'm knocking on everything.

Speaker 0

没有。

No.

Speaker 1

这会儿我哪儿都找不到木头。

I can't find any wood right now.

Speaker 1

米歇尔,你以前出过严重的车祸吗?

Michelle, have you ever been in a serious accident?

Speaker 0

没有。

No.

Speaker 0

我根本答不上来这个问题。

Not I I can't even answer this question.

Speaker 0

我就觉得吧,还行吧。

I feel like I'm just Okay.

Speaker 0

没有。

No.

Speaker 0

咱们跳过吧。

We'll move on.

Speaker 0

咱们跳过吧。

We'll move on.

Speaker 0

没有。

No.

Speaker 0

我倒是碰过几次小擦碰之类的,不过借个木头保佑,没出过大事。

I've been in fender benders and things like that, but knock on wood, knock on wood, nothing serious.

Speaker 0

好。

Okay.

Speaker 1

没有。

No.

Speaker 1

没有。

No.

Speaker 1

我见过几起,但自己从来没碰上过。

Look, I've I've seen a few, but never been in one.

Speaker 1

所以吧。

So yeah.

Speaker 0

你回答这个问题时,看起来没我这么紧张。

You don't seem as nervous as I am to answer that question.

Speaker 1

没有。

No.

Speaker 1

没那么明显。

Not really.

Speaker 1

我的意思是,嗯,是吧。

I mean, yeah.

Speaker 1

我不知道。

I don't know.

Speaker 1

我们是不同的人,米歇尔。

We're different people, Michelle.

Speaker 1

你看,我们本来就是不同的人。

You know, we're different people.

Speaker 1

你可能比我稍微迷信一点,或者类似吧。

You're a little, maybe a little more superstitious than I or something.

Speaker 1

我不知道。

I don't know.

Speaker 0

说来有趣,前几天我开车送朋友去看篮球赛,哦,对了。

Well, it's funny actually, because just the other day, I I was driving my friends to a a basketball game and oh, yeah.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

他们一路上老是夸我,去的时候一个这么说,回来的时候另一个也这么说,‘你开得真不错。’

They kept on like, each of them, like, one on the way there and one on the way back was like, oh, like, oh, you're doing a good job.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

因为我一路上老在想,到底该走哪条道啊?

Because I kept on being like, oh, which lane?

Speaker 0

然后就一直叨叨个没完。

And blah blah blah.

Speaker 0

我就说,别这么说。

And I said, don't say that.

Speaker 0

你得等我真到了地方再说这话。

You're not allowed to say that until I'm actually at the place.

Speaker 0

所以嘛,我开车时确实有点迷信。

So yeah, I guess I am superstitious with driving.

Speaker 1

别人评论我开车,我一点都受不了。

Don't like comments when I get comments on my driving at all.

Speaker 1

尤其是开车的时候有人当场点评,真的超烦的,对吧?

Like I really don't like that in real time, right?

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

开车的时候,你就只想让我专心开车别唠叨。

When you're in the car, it's just like, oh, just let me drive.

Speaker 0

你懂的。

You know?

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yep.

Speaker 0

就是这意思。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

那好吧。

So alright.

Speaker 0

咱们在下播前先来个角色扮演吗?

Should we do a role play before we head off the mic?

Speaker 1

来吧,米歇尔,咱们开始。

Let's do it, Michelle.

Speaker 1

我们当时在购物,出来到停车场,发现你的车明显被撞了。

So here we were shopping, and we came out to the parking lot, and your car was clearly hit.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

哎呀。

Uh-oh.

Speaker 0

行吧。

Alright.

Speaker 0

来了来了。

Here we go.

Speaker 1

好。

Okay.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 0

这到底是怎么回事?

What happened here?

Speaker 1

天哪。

Woah.

Speaker 1

看来有人撞了你的车。

Looks like someone hit your car.

Speaker 1

真烦人。

Ugh.

Speaker 0

你瞧这儿这道划痕。

Look at this scratch over here.

Speaker 0

哎呀。

Oh,

Speaker 1

我觉得是刮痕。

I think it's a scuff.

Speaker 1

我觉得能擦掉。

I think it can come off.

Speaker 1

好了。

There.

Speaker 0

哦,谢谢你。

Oh, thank you.

Speaker 0

哦,糟了。

Oh, no.

Speaker 0

但车门上有个凹痕。

But there's a dent in the door.

Speaker 1

哦,天哪。

Oh, yikes.

Speaker 1

肯定是有人撞了就跑了。

Someone definitely dinged it and just left.

Speaker 0

这太糟糕了。

Oh, that's terrible.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,我以前也碰过小刮蹭,但从没遇到过这种事。

I mean, I've been in fender benders before, but I never had this happen.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

所以我得提醒一下我们的听众,'ding' 既可以当动词也可以当名词用。

And so I just wanna remind our listeners, ding again can be a verb or a noun.

Speaker 1

在这里,'ding' 是作动词用的,意思是撞出凹痕。

To ding something, in this case, we use this as a verb.

Speaker 1

肯定是有人撞出了个凹痕,然后一走了之。

Someone definitely dinged it and just left.

Speaker 1

不过我们之前也说过,你车身上也能发现一个凹痕。

But again, we said you can find a ding in your car.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

好吧。

Alright.

Speaker 0

所以我们出来一看,你说:哇,好像有人撞到你的车了。

So we come out and you said, woah, looks like someone hit your car.

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

“hit”的过去式还是“hit”。

Past tense of hit is hit.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

没错。

Yep.

Speaker 1

就是这样。

There you go.

Speaker 1

然后你说:哎,你看这儿这条划痕。

And then you said, oh, looks look at this scratch over here.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

一道划痕。

A scratch.

Speaker 0

所以我正在评估一下损坏情况。

So I'm kind of evaluating the damage.

Speaker 0

所以我才说这只是一个划痕,就是油漆有点问题。

So maybe so I'm saying it's a scratch, like there's a problem with the paint.

Speaker 0

然后你说,我觉得这是个刮痕,说不定能擦掉。

And then you said, I think it's a scuff, maybe it can come off.

Speaker 0

然后你试了试,果然就是个刮痕,没错。

And then you try and then just a scuff, yes.

Speaker 0

然后你用那东西一擦,结果就...

And then you use it there, so you got

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我想给我们的听众解释一下这个情况。

I just want to explain that to our listeners.

Speaker 1

所以事后我们补充了这段角色扮演。

So retroactively, we added to the role play.

Speaker 1

要是想说得更准确点,各位,你们的语言里可以说:‘我觉得这也就是个刮痕。’

What would be even more specific, guys, in your language, if you want to be precise, you could say, oh, I think it's just a scuff.

Speaker 1

这其实是把整件事给轻描淡写地淡化了。

This is downgrading the whole scenario, the whole situation for your friend.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

你这话说得也太细了。

You're being very verbal.

Speaker 1

没啥大不了的。

No big deal.

Speaker 1

我觉得就是个刮痕。

I think it's just a scuff.

Speaker 0

就是一道划痕。

It's just a scuff.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

然后我说,可我四下一看,天啊,门上居然有个凹痕。

And then I said, but then I'm looking around and I said, Oh no, but there's a dent in the door.

Speaker 0

这下真出问题了。

So there's actual nuts.

Speaker 0

现在情况越来越糟了。

Now or now it's getting up.

Speaker 0

对啊。

Yep.

Speaker 0

不太妙啊。

Not, not so good.

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

然后我就说,天哪,肯定是有人撞了就跑了。

And then I said, Yikes, someone definitely dinged it and just left.

Speaker 1

嗯,这种事确实偶尔会发生。

Well, this does happen sometimes.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

挺有意思的是,‘刮痕’和‘凹陷’其实不太一样,对吧?

So it's interesting because a ding isn't quite a dent, right?

Speaker 0

‘刮痕’这个词,我们平时说的时候,通常是指别人撞了你一下那种情况。

A ding you think of but as sometimes we just say that, you know, for the action of they they hit you.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

你可不是这么说的。

You're not yeah.

Speaker 1

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 1

你朋友才不会觉得这个词用错了呢。

Your friend's not gonna say that's the wrong word.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 1

在某些情况下,意思可以更宽泛一点。

Meaning can be a little more broad in some cases.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

他们也不会说,哎,这不算配音。

And they're not going to say, oh, that wasn't a dub.

Speaker 0

他们没挑错。

They didn't ding it.

Speaker 0

他们直接过了。

They hit it.

Speaker 0

你懂的吧?

You know?

Speaker 0

不懂。

No.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

除非你亲自在现场,就像我们之前角色扮演时那样,去区分到底是划痕。

Unless you're there, as we did earlier in the role play, and we're differentiating between it's a scratch.

Speaker 1

哦,不是。

Oh, no.

Speaker 1

只是个刮痕。

It's just a scuff.

Speaker 1

哦,其实这是个凹痕。

Oh, actually, it's a dent.

Speaker 1

这种时候,用词就真的很重要了。

Would be where it does matter, the word choice.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

是的

Yep.

Speaker 0

对

Yeah.

Speaker 0

没错

Exactly.

Speaker 0

那这种情况就叫肇事逃逸,对吧,林赛?

And then, so that would be called like a hit and run, right, Lindsey?

Speaker 1

大概是吧。

I guess so.

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我的意思是,我想到的是撞了,对吧?

I mean, I think of a hit Right?

Speaker 1

更准确地说,是撞了。

More Yeah.

Speaker 1

我觉得hit and run是指,嗯,让我想想。

Well, I think of a hit and and run as when well, let me see.

Speaker 1

就是有人开车撞了人。

When someone's in the car.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

就是那种,或者也不是。

Like like or no.

Speaker 1

在我这儿,hit and run就是这么回事。

Hit and run-in my case.

Speaker 0

其实,撞到行人也算。

Well, I mean, it's also if you hit a pedestrian.

Speaker 0

撞到

Hit a

Speaker 1

我倒是想到行人了。

pedestri I think of that actually.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我更多想到的是撞到人,但我也说不准。

I think I hit I I think of that more, but I wonder if I don't know.

Speaker 0

撞到个不怎么友善的人。

Missed not nice person.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我说的是,我以前也碰过小刮蹭,但从来没遇到过这种事。

And then I said, I mean, I've been in fender benders before, but never had this happen.

Speaker 0

所以我的意思是,我从来没遇到过有人趁我不在,故意撞我的车,连张纸条都不留。

So I'm basically saying I've never had someone just, like, do something to my car when I wasn't there and not write a note or something like that.

Speaker 1

我懂。

I know.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

哦,真不妙。

Oh, not good.

Speaker 1

不过话说回来,这正好跟我们这个汽车系列主题搭得上。

But anyway, this ties in nicely with our series on cars.

Speaker 1

为什么说这是种连接能力呢,米歇尔?

And why is it a connection skill, Michelle?

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh gosh.

Speaker 0

首先呢,希望这种事别发生在任何人身上,但万一真碰上了,你得跟保险公司沟通,把经过说清楚。

Well, number one, I mean, hopefully we don't have this happen to anybody, but you might need to talk to your insurance company and describe what happened.

Speaker 0

其实这本身就能另做一期节目了——怎么把事情讲得清楚又到位。

So actually, could be a whole other episode, how to actually, like, really tell the story.

Speaker 0

但这次呢,就是嘛,这种事吧,不幸的是,谁也躲不开。

But this one, it's just, you know, these things happen, unfortunately.

Speaker 0

能说得清楚这种事,其实也能让你跟别人产生共鸣。

And it's just a good way to be able to describe it, could connect you to others.

Speaker 0

这些词确实都是很实用的词汇。

So these are definitely great vocabulary words to know.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

今天讲得真不错,Michelle。

Good stuff today, Michelle.

Speaker 1

希望你这周车子那边一切顺利。

And I hope everything is cool this week with your car.

Speaker 1

那咱们就借个吉言吧。

Major So let's just knock on wood.

Speaker 1

Michelle,咱们下期再见。

And Michelle, I will see you in the next episode.

Speaker 1

你今天也过得开心。

You have a good day.

Speaker 0

好的。

All right.

Speaker 0

好的。

Alright.
