Speaker 2

你好,米歇尔。

Hello, Michelle.

Speaker 2

最近怎么样?

How are things?

Speaker 0

挺好的,奥布里。

Things are good, Aubrey.

Speaker 0

你呢?

How are you?

Speaker 2

我很好。

I'm great.

Speaker 2

问你个问题。

Question for you.

Speaker 2

你家哪些地方可以吃饭,哪些地方是禁止吃的?

Do you allow eating in any room of your house or are some rooms off limits?

Speaker 0

这问题问得不错。

Well, that's a good question.

Speaker 0

我其实没有定下什么硬性规定。

I don't think that I have like an actual strict rule about it.

Speaker 0

丹倒是更擅长管着孩子们,不让他们在某些地方吃东西。

I think Dan is better at trying to get the kids to not eat in certain places.

Speaker 1

我可不止一次在床上吃饭了。

But I have been known to eat a meal in bed.

Speaker 1

这可是我最喜欢的事。

That's my favorite thing

Speaker 2

真的。

to do.

Speaker 0

别告诉别人啊。

Don't tell anyone.

Speaker 0

但我绝对不可能让孩子们这么干。

But like I would never have my kids do that.

Speaker 2

不,当然了。

No, absolutely.

Speaker 2

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 2

我们家这规矩挺严的,不过跟你一样,主要是我老公管得更严。

This is, it's pretty strict in our home, but same as you, it's my husband who is much more strict about it.

Speaker 2

楼上一律不准吃东西。

Like no food upstairs at all.

Speaker 2

一点都不能吃。

No food.

Speaker 2

只能在厨房吃,或者到外面吃。

Like kitchen, only kitchen or outside.

Speaker 2

吃冰棒得拿到后院去,对吧?

Take your popsicle out to the backyard, right?

Speaker 0

哦。

Oh

Speaker 2

天哪。

my gosh.

Speaker 2

别的地方都不行。

Not anywhere else.

Speaker 2

孩子们听吗?

But do the kids listen?

Speaker 2

孩子们真会这么做吗?

Do the kids do that?

Speaker 2

根本不会。

Absolutely not.

Speaker 2

他们总把吃的藏在房间里。

They have food and snacks hidden in their rooms.

Speaker 2

我们天天都在管他们。

They're constantly getting after them.

Speaker 2

我平时很少在床上吃东西,但偶尔也会

And I don't eat in the bed very often, but every now and

Speaker 0

也许那时候就算紧急情况了。

Maybe then I it's like an emergency situation.

Speaker 2

是的,完全对。

Yeah, totally.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

紧急情况。

Emergency.

Speaker 2

紧急情况。

Emergency.

Speaker 2

比如我床边放着一杯葡萄酒,那时候我就觉得:这算紧急情况。

Like, I have my glass of wine next to the bed, and I'm like Yeah.

Speaker 2

这算紧急情况。

It's an emergency.

Speaker 2

这样也没关系。

That's fine.

Speaker 0

好吧。

Fine.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

今天我们要聊一个轻松有趣的方式来表达你不喜欢某样东西。

So today, are going to talk about a fun yet light way to say that you don't like something.

Speaker 0

我们之所以聊这个,是因为我听到丹在谈论我们之前说的‘爱’这个话题时用了这种说法。

And we're talking about this because I heard Dan say this in the context of what we're talking Love it.

Speaker 0

故事是这样的,我的孩子们在吃一些加了蜂蜜的东西。

So the story is my kids were eating something with honey.

Speaker 0

我记不清具体是什么了。

I forget what it was.

Speaker 0

他们当时坐在沙发上,地毯上面,他就说:‘我可不喜欢蜂蜜弄在地毯上。’

And it was they were on the couch over the carpet and he said, I don't love honey on the carpet.

Speaker 2

这太棒了。

That is amazing.

Speaker 2

我经常这么说,我老公也是,对吧?

I say this a lot and my husband does too, right?

Speaker 2

我们真正想表达的是,你不该在地毯上吃东西。

And what we really mean is you should not be eating on the carpet.

Speaker 2

你不该坐在沙发上吃东西,我们的意思是,我不希望你把蜂蜜弄到沙发上,或者弄到那边去,我不希望你在那儿吃蜂蜜。

You should not be eating while sitting on the couch what we're saying is I don't want you to get honey on the couch So or on the I don't want you to be eating honey over there.

Speaker 2

我们就是这么表达的。

And this is how we say it.

Speaker 2

有时候他们会说,比如,我不喜欢蜂蜜弄在地毯上,或者我不喜欢蜂蜜沾在地毯上。

Sometimes they'll say like, don't love the idea of honey on the carpet or I don't love honey on the carpet.

Speaker 2

完全没错。

Totally.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我把它记下来了,因为觉得特别好笑,而且这说法很自然,是表达‘不想这样’的常用方式。

And wrote it down because it just made me laugh and it's very natural and it's a common way to say you don't want something.

Speaker 0

就是不想让某件事发生。

You don't want something to happen.

Speaker 0

比如,别做某事。

Like, don't do something.

Speaker 0

没错。

Absolutely.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

这事儿肯定挺有意思的。

So this is this is gonna be fun.

Speaker 0

首先,各位,我们想提醒大家,无论你在哪儿听或看《All Ears English》播客,都记得点个关注或在YouTube上订阅,这样就不会错过任何内容。

Speaker 2

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 2

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 2

我们现在要点名感谢几位听众,来自中国的Annie,还有其他所有在苹果播客上给我们留下评价的朋友,非常感谢你们的评论和评分!无论你们是在Spotify、安卓、苹果、应用内还是YouTube上留言,我们都非常珍惜每一条反馈,都会认真阅读。

当然。

Absolutely.

So if you haven't written a review, please do so.

Speaker 0

我们真的每一条都会看。

We really do read them.

Speaker 0

我们还会互相传阅这些评价。

We send them around to each other.

Speaker 0

这让我们的日子更有意义。

Makes our days.

Speaker 0

好,我们开始吧。

Alright.

Speaker 0

那我们进入正题。

So let's get into it.

Speaker 0

这种表达是 'I don't love x'。

So this construction is I don't love x.

Speaker 0

我不喜欢某件事。

I don't love something.

Speaker 0

比如,

For example,

Speaker 2

我不喜欢熬夜超过十一点。

I don't love staying up past eleven.

Speaker 2

对我来说确实如此,不过我可能会说,我不喜欢熬夜超过九点。

That's true for me except I could say I don't love staying up past nine.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我早就累坏了,因为我每天起得太早。

I'm tired by it because I'm up so early.

Speaker 2

所以我真的特别受不了起那么早。

So I'm tired really, really get up early.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

还有,我不喜欢这房间的装修风格。

Or I don't love the redecorating done in this room.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

所以我就是不喜欢。

So I don't love it.

Speaker 2

可别跟装修的人这么说。

Don't say that to someone who did the redecorating.

Speaker 2

不。

No.

Speaker 2

不,不,不。

No, no, no.

Speaker 2

或者我不喜欢这种咸甜搭配。

Or I don't love this combination of salty and sweet.

Speaker 2

比如在餐厅里,你这么说其实是在往好的方面说。

So this is a kind of a positive spin when you're in a restaurant for example.

Speaker 2

你的意思是,我不喜欢这个,但你故意说得委婉一点。

And what you mean is, I don't like this, but you're trying to be positive.

Speaker 2

你不想说得太直接伤人。

You're trying not to say something rude.

Speaker 2

这样说比直接说‘我不喜欢’要礼貌多了。

This is a nicer I way to say don't love this.

Speaker 2

对吧

Right,

Speaker 0

对,没错。

right, exactly.

Speaker 0

所以,你其实已经回答了我的问题。

So yeah, I mean you answered my question.

Speaker 0

我本来想问你觉得这听起来怎么样?

I was going to say how does that sound to you?

Speaker 0

听起来你确实是在尽量委婉一点。

It does sound like you're trying to be a little bit softer.

Speaker 0

你知道的,你并不是想太直白。

You know, you're not trying to be too blunt.

Speaker 0

然后你可能会得到

And you might get

Speaker 2

更多的后续细节。

more details after.

Speaker 2

你可能会说,我不太喜欢,但我也遇到过更糟的。

You might be like, I don't love it, but I've had worse.

Speaker 0

对,就是这样。

Right, exactly.

Speaker 0

没错,对我来说听起来很温和,就算你不太喜欢,也不至于讨厌。

Yeah, so to me it sounds very light and even though you may not love it, you may not hate it.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

这完全取决于语境和语气。

It just depends on the context and the tone.

Speaker 0

比如说

For example

Speaker 2

如果你真的讨厌,就会这么说。

say this if you did hate it.

Speaker 2

你会换种说法。

You'd say something else.

Speaker 2

你会说:这不是我最喜欢的。

You'd be like, it's not my favorite.

Speaker 2

差不多就是这个意思。

Something like that.

Speaker 2

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

我举个例子。

So here's an example.

Speaker 0

这个颜色我不是特别喜欢,但我觉得咱们先用着吧。

I don't love this color, but I think we should go with it for now.

Speaker 0

比如你得为一个演示文稿之类的事情做决定,这时候你就想,好吧。

So maybe you need to make a decision for a presentation or whatever it is, and you're saying, okay.

Speaker 0

反正咱们先把这个搞定再说。

Well, we need to just get this done.

Speaker 0

所以我不太喜欢,但我们就先这么定了吧。

So I don't love it, but let's just go with it.

Speaker 2

我以前对刷房子的颜色也说过这话,我们本来想选特别浅的,几乎接近白色,但得从物业批准的色卡里挑。

I probably said this about the color we painted our house because we wanted to go really light, like almost white, but we had to choose from HOA colors, like pre approved colors.

Speaker 2

结果没有一个是特别浅的,我们特别头疼,要是不选他们指定的颜色还会被罚款。

And none of them were very light and we were so frustrated and they fine you if you don't choose one of their colors.

Speaker 2

最后我们只好选了他们里面最浅的那个,但还是没达到我们想要的效果。

So we chose the lightest one they had, which was not as light as we wanted.

Speaker 2

那时候我们就说,这颜色真不咋地,可也没别的办法,只能将就了。

And we'd be like, I don't love this, but we're just gonna have to go with it because we have no other option.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

这真是个完美的例子。

That's a perfect example.

Speaker 0

或者奥布里,你之前提到过葡萄酒,你可以说:这酒配这道菜我不太喜欢,但能明白为什么这么搭配。

Or Aubrey, you were talking about wine in You could say, I don't love this wine with this dish but I see why they put them together.

Speaker 0

哦对,有时候确实会这样,

Oh yeah, because sometimes there will be a

Speaker 2

推荐的搭配出来,你心里想:这可不是我选的,但勉强能理解。

suggested pairing and you'll be like, it's not what I would have chosen but I can kind of get it.

Speaker 0

就是我能懂它的逻辑,对吧?

Like I understand it, right?

Speaker 0

对我来说,我

For me, I

Speaker 2

不知道你怎么样,米歇尔,但我只要看到赤霞珠,就非它不可。

don't know about you Michelle, but I'm like every Cabernet Sauvignon, give me a Cab Sauv.

Speaker 2

我肯定喜欢。

I'm going to love it.

Speaker 2

我从来没喝过一款我不喜欢的赤霞珠。

I don't think I've ever had a Cab Sauv I didn't like.

Speaker 2

我特别喜欢马尔贝克。

I love the I like Malbec.

Speaker 2

马尔贝克确实不错。

Oh, Malbec's good too.

Speaker 2

对。

Yes.

Speaker 2

每个人都有自己的偏好,但总的来说,连Trader Joe's卖的四块钱一瓶的我也喝得下去。

Mean, has their favorites, but in general, I even like the $4 one at Trader Joe's.

Speaker 2

吉米,太好喝了。

Jimmy, delicious.

Speaker 0

这真有意思。

That's so funny.

Speaker 0

不过,这种说法也可能听起来更严肃,甚至用来训人或立规矩。

So this could actually though also sound a bit more serious or even use to reprimand someone or give rules.

Speaker 0

天啊,蜂蜜弄地上了。

Like, damn in the honey.

Speaker 0

我不喜欢蜂蜜沾在地毯上。

Like, I don't love honey on the carpet.

Speaker 0

我们可不是这么干的。

Like, we're not, you know, doing this.

Speaker 0

没错。

Right.

Speaker 2

你真正想说的是,别在地毯上吃蜂蜜。

What you really mean is don't eat honey on the carpet.

Speaker 2

别这么干。

Don't do it.

Speaker 0

对极了。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

没错。

Right.

Speaker 0

没错。

Right.

Speaker 0

所以我不太喜欢现在这个谈话的方向。

So I don't love where this conversation is going right now.

Speaker 0

当你觉得对话可能要变得有火药味了,有些敏感话题冒出来了,你可能会说‘我现在不太想继续这个话题了’,不如咱们聊点别的吧。

So it's like you can tell things are maybe getting a little bit more argumentative with someone, things are coming up, and so you might say I don't love where this is going right now, like maybe we should just talk about something else.

Speaker 2

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 2

这其实挺有意思的,带点暗示性。

And this is really interesting, It's a little bit loaded.

Speaker 2

如果你打算换个话题,我们之前在播客里也聊过一些方法。

If you are wanting to pivot to something else, we've talked about on the podcast ways to do that.

Speaker 2

就是怎么转移话题。

Ways to change the subject.

Speaker 2

这是一种方式,但背后其实隐含了对对方的批评。

And this is one way to do that, but there is an implication here of criticizing the other person.

Speaker 2

你是在告诉对方,他们刚才说的话、处理对话的方式、对你的反应,或者不认真听你说话,这些你都不喜欢。

You are telling them something they just said or the way they're handling the conversation, way they're reacting to you or not listening to you, you don't love.

Speaker 2

所以在转话题之前,你会以一种温和的方式让对方知道这一点。

And so you are letting them know that in a kind way before pivoting away.

Speaker 2

当你这么说的时候,其实是故意要传达这个意思。

And so when you say this, you're intentionally giving them that message.

Speaker 2

比如我会说:我不太喜欢你处理事情的方式,咱们换个话题吧,然后你就真的换一个话题。

Like I don't like So the way you've been handling let's talk about something and then you're going to change the subject.

Speaker 2

但你希望这个意思表达清楚,这时候我们就会用这句话。

But you want that message to be clear and that's when we would say this.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

还有别的例子吗,奥布里?

Or what's another example Aubrey?

Speaker 2

对,你可能会说:我不喜欢你一直忽略我的邮件。

Yeah, then you might say, I don't love how you've been ignoring some of my emails.

Speaker 2

比如有个同事老不回你邮件,你可以试着用轻松一点的语气告诉他:你得看看我的邮件,给我回个信。

So this could be a coworker that is not responding to a lot of your emails and you're trying to figure out a way to say it a little bit playfully but also let them know, you need to read my emails and respond.

Speaker 0

不过对同事说这话要小心。

Be careful with this one to a coworker.

Speaker 0

你得说,

You would have

Speaker 2

我可能会跟米歇尔这么说。

to be like, I would say this to you Michelle maybe.

Speaker 2

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 2

比如对一个人,

Somebody

Speaker 0

关系比较近的时候,才能坦诚相告。

you're close with you can be truthful with.

Speaker 0

这话说得不错

That's well

Speaker 2

轻松一点,对吧?

playful, right?

Speaker 2

我会跟Michelle说:嘿,Michelle。

I'd be like, so Michelle.

Speaker 2

你知道吗,我真喜欢你这么无视我所有邮件的样子。

Right, I love the way you're ignoring all of my emails.

Speaker 2

但我自己可能也不会这么讲,因为我知道肯定有原因。

But I also don't even know if I would do that because I would know there's probably a reason.

Speaker 2

你太忙了,可这话里还是带着点责备的意思。

You're super busy and there's still implied criticism there.

Speaker 2

所以我大概还是会说:你有没有看到我上一封邮件?

So I would probably still be like, Did you happen to see my last email?

Speaker 2

对,对,对。

Right, right, right.

Speaker 2

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 2

这其实看不出关心。

This doesn't show care really.

Speaker 2

你确实得注意点。

You do need to be careful.

Speaker 2

这更适合你已经很小心了,现在需要更明确一点,但还是想用温和礼貌的表达方式。

This is maybe more if you have already tried to be careful and now you need to be more clear but you're still trying to use language that is kind and polite.

Speaker 2

这样讲就挺合适。

This would work.

Speaker 0

是的,确实挺有意思的。

Yeah, yeah, really interesting.

Speaker 0

你可能还会听到有人说:我不太喜欢这样。

And you also might just hear people say, I don't love it.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

那我们来做个简单的角色扮演吧。

So for example, let's do this little role play.

Speaker 0

你觉得他们新添的过山车怎么样?

What do you think of the new roller coaster they added?

Speaker 2

我不太喜欢。

I don't love it.

Speaker 2

是的,我可能会再多说一点,因为如果只说到这儿,听起来有点太生硬了。

Yeah, I'm probably going to share more details because if you just stop there, feels a little brusque.

Speaker 2

如果你说,‘说实话,我晕车了,我们倒挂的时间也太长了’,那就会自然地解释为什么你不满意了。

Then if you're like, I got sick honestly, we were upside down way too long, you would probably give details about why you didn't love it.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

好的,广告结束后我们马上讲相反的情况。

Alright, so we are going to go over the opposite in just a minute after the break.

Speaker 0

好的。

Alright.

Speaker 0

行。

Okay.

Speaker 0

所以奥布里,你能说说相反的说法吗?

So Aubrey, so can you say the opposite?

Speaker 0

你能说‘我不讨厌它’吗?

Can you say I don't hate something or I don't hate it?

Speaker 2

当然可以。

Absolutely.

Speaker 2

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 2

其实我不讨厌它。

Well, I don't hate it.

Speaker 2

我觉得这和前面说的意思差不多。

Actually means the same thing, I think.

Speaker 2

如果我说‘我不喜欢它’的话。

If I'm like, I don't love it.

Speaker 2

或者我说‘我不讨厌它’。

Or I'm like, I don't hate it.

Speaker 2

对我来说,情况也差不多。

It's kind of the same for me.

Speaker 0

两者对我来说都一样。

Both of them,

Speaker 2

我觉得这太有意思了。

I'm like, That's it's That's so interesting.

Speaker 2

真的很有趣。

Is interesting.

Speaker 2

其实是一回事。

Is really the same thing

Speaker 0

对我来说。

to me.

Speaker 0

差不多吧。

Kind of the same.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

所以你可以说,嗯,我也不讨厌它。

So you could you could say, oh, I don't I don't hate it.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我就是这么说的。

That's what I said.

Speaker 0

没错。

Right.

Speaker 0

但从某种奇怪的角度看,这话听起来还挺积极的。

And it can actually be pretty positive sounding in a weird way.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

来做这个卷腹动作。

Do this roll pull.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

你觉得这咖啡怎么样?

What do you think of the coffee?

Speaker 2

我知道你对咖啡挺讲究的。

I know you're a coffee snob.

Speaker 2

咱们尝尝看。

Let's see.

Speaker 2

还行吧,不算讨厌。

I don't hate it.

Speaker 2

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

挺有意思的是,如果我说‘我不喜欢’,听起来比‘我不讨厌’要更负面一些。

It is interesting because if I said I don't love it, it would mean more like it sounds worse than saying I don't hate it.

Speaker 2

这真有意思。

That is really interesting.

Speaker 2

这么说确实有道理。

And I guess that makes sense.

Speaker 2

说‘我不讨厌’,其实意思更像是我喜欢。

I don't hate it should mean a little more like I actually like it.

Speaker 2

确实如此。

And it is.

Speaker 2

这种感觉更像是我真的喜欢。

Like this feels more like actually I like it.

Speaker 2

我们常常在意外的时候这么说。

And we'll often say that when we're surprised.

Speaker 2

也许我们本来以为不会喜欢。

Maybe we expected to not like something.

Speaker 2

不讨厌。

Don't hate it.

Speaker 2

结果却喜欢上了。

And then we liked it.

Speaker 2

我不讨厌。

I don't hate it.

Speaker 2

我本来以为我会讨厌它,结果并没有。

Like I thought I would hate it but I don't.

Speaker 0

这些表达方式还真是有意思。

So funny how these expressions work.

Speaker 0

不过你也可以这样用。

But you can also use it like this.

Speaker 0

举个例子吧。

So here's an example.

Speaker 0

我去了

I went to the

Speaker 2

商场,那里开了一家新餐厅。

mall and they put in a new restaurant.

Speaker 2

我没觉得它差。

I didn't hate it.

Speaker 2

估计那儿生意会不错。

It'll probably do well there.

Speaker 2

不错。

Nice.

Speaker 2

我这么说的时候,语调挺有意思的,对吧?

And I when I say this, the intonation is interesting, right?

Speaker 2

如果我说‘我没讨厌它’,听起来就像‘我也没多喜欢’。

If I say like, I didn't hate it, that sounds like, I also didn't love it.

Speaker 2

如果我说‘我去商场,然后我画了个新的——没讨厌它’,

If I say like, I went to the mall and I I painted a new didn't hate it.

Speaker 2

你那儿估计会挺火的。

You'll probably do well there.

Speaker 2

这意思其实是说我特别喜欢。

That means I really liked it.

Speaker 2

全靠语调了。

It's all about your intonation.

Speaker 2

语调是有讲究的,对吧?

There's intonation Right?

Speaker 2

这么说的话,'I didn't hate it' 就成了这样。

That can get this didn't hate it.

Speaker 2

你绝对不能。

You absolutely

Speaker 0

讨厌它。

hate it.

Speaker 0

你不能用平淡的语气说这话。

You can't just say this in a monotone.

Speaker 2

不行。

No.

Speaker 2

不然听起来就不对了,你得说 'I didn't hate it'。

Or at least it wouldn't be You're like, I didn't hate it.

Speaker 2

听起来像是:我不算喜欢,但也没那么讨厌,对吧。

That sounds like, I didn't really like it, but I didn't True.

Speaker 0

对,没错。

Right, right.

Speaker 0

所以如果你语气稍微强调一点,比如‘哦,我倒也没讨厌它’,还带点惊讶的语气,那就完全对了。

So if you are a little bit more emphatic, like, Oh, I didn't hate it, and sound a little surprised, that sounds Totally.

Speaker 0

更

More

Speaker 2

有意思了。

interesting.

Speaker 2

所以这其实挺微妙的。

So this is tricky.

Speaker 2

根据你的语调和上下文,别人可能会听错,对吧?

You could confuse someone depending on the intonation you use and the context, right?

Speaker 2

你需要非常清晰的语调,同时也要意识到这种可能性。

You need very clear intonation and also recognize that is a possibility.

Speaker 2

同样的话,语调不同,意思可以差很多。

There are lots of different meanings depending on the intonation.

Speaker 2

所以你要提前考虑到,用这些表达时容易产生误解,之后一定要补充细节,把意思说清楚。

So anticipate that, that there could be misunderstandings when you're trying to use these and then make sure to share details after that make it clear.

Speaker 2

如果你说,我没讨厌它。

If you're like, I didn't hate it.

Speaker 2

其实特别棒。

It was actually amazing.

Speaker 2

甜点简直完美。

The dessert was fantastic.

Speaker 2

主菜呢?

The entree, right?

Speaker 2

你分享的细节越多,就越能让人明白你这句话的真实意思。

The more details you share, the more it's clear what you meant by that phrase.

Speaker 0

没错,完全没错。

Exactly, exactly.

Speaker 0

或者说,他们对这个设计的改动,我也不反感。

I mean or you could say something like I don't hate what they've done with the design.

Speaker 0

对吧?这样说听起来更积极一些,而不是说,哦,我对他们做的改动也不讨厌。

Right, so that's more positive sounding rather than like oh I don't hate what they've done with Exactly.

Speaker 0

这个

The

Speaker 2

没错,你分享得越详细越好。

Right again, the more detail you share.

Speaker 2

如果你能具体说说你有多喜欢那个螺旋楼梯,或者喜欢设计中的哪些线条、图案,别人就能明白你真正想表达的意思。

If you then share how you love the spiral staircase or you love whatever about the lines, the motif, that's going to clue them into what you actually mean.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

所以各位,这其实有点微妙,因为语境和语调会影响意思。

So guys, again, it can be a little tricky because of context intonation.

Speaker 0

奥布里,你之前也用过‘有内涵’这个词来描述这种情况。

Aubrey, you also used the word loaded to talk about this earlier.

Speaker 0

这里面的门道可不少。

There's a lot to this.

Speaker 0

我觉得说‘我不太喜欢’反而更自然、更容易表达,不过我不确定你是不是这么想。

Like, I would say, I think I don't love it is a little bit more natural and easier to kind of navigate, but I don't know if you agree.

Speaker 0

我可以

I can

Speaker 2

我明白你的意思。

see what you mean.

Speaker 2

我平时更常说的是‘我不太喜欢’。

I think I use I don't love it more often.

Speaker 2

至于‘我不讨厌’,我一般会用特别夸张的语调,意思是本来以为会讨厌,结果意外地还挺喜欢。

I use I don't hate it more with like really exaggerated intonation to share that I expected to dislike something and I'm surprised how much I loved it.

Speaker 2

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 2

比如我买了一支两块钱的廉价冰淇淋,心里想:这玩意儿估计不好吃。

If I get like a cheap ice cream that I'm like, this might not be good because it was $2 or whatever.

Speaker 2

结果一吃,哎,这我也不讨厌嘛。

Then I'm like, oh, I don't hate this.

Speaker 2

因为我也想表达,我本来没抱什么期望,结果却挺惊喜的。

Because I'm also sharing that I expected to not be impressed And and I then I was.

Speaker 0

这不正是最棒的吗?

And isn't that the best?

Speaker 0

没错。

Yes.

Speaker 0

你还会说‘让我感到惊喜’。

You also say I'm pleasantly surprised.

Speaker 0

这个说法也不错。

That's a good bonus.

Speaker 0

让人感到惊喜。

Pleasantly surprised.

Speaker 0

这个说法呢。

This one

Speaker 2

我们来用这个。

we'll play.

展开剩余字幕(还有 123 条)
Speaker 2

我们俩在一家辣酱店试吃各种辣酱。

We are friends at a hot sauce store trying samples.

Speaker 2

米歇尔,我得跟你说,因为刚才聊到辣酱了。

Michelle, I have to tell you, because hot sauce has come up here.

Speaker 2

你看过电视剧《公司》吗?我知道它叫什么。

Have you seen the TV show Corporate I know what's it called?

Speaker 2

公司度假?

Corporate Retreat?

Speaker 0

公司团建。

Company Retreat.

Speaker 0

奥布里,我们家辣酱多得数不清。

Aubrey, we have so many.

Speaker 0

这个我们待会儿再聊。

We'll talk about this later.

Speaker 2

好的。

We will.

Speaker 2

各位,Michelle,就是这个。

Guys, Michelle That's is

Speaker 0

我刚才想的正是这个,太有意思了。

exactly what I was thinking about when I was so funny.

Speaker 2

Michelle,我们待会儿私下再细聊,但我只想告诉所有在听的朋友们:你还没看过的话,一定要补上。

Michelle, so we are going to speak more about this off the air, but I just want to share with all of you listening, you haven't seen it, you've got to watch it.

Speaker 2

我太喜欢这部剧了。

Loved it so much.

Speaker 2

你得先看《陪审团》。

You need to first watch Jury Duty.

Speaker 2

那部剧简直太棒了。

That was the Which first was incredible.

Speaker 2

太精彩了。

Which was incredible.

Speaker 2

詹姆斯·马斯登演得实在太出色了。

James Marsden so amazing in it.

Speaker 2

整个设定是,有一个人根本不知道自己在参加一档电视节目,就像《真探摄像》那样,他以为周围其他人都是真的,其实全都是演员。

And the whole setup is that there's one person who doesn't realize they're on a TV show that they're it's like Candid Camera where they don't realize everyone else is an actor.

Speaker 2

除了这一个人之外,其他所有人都是演员,而这个人呢,就是个普通人,像我、像Michelle,或者任何在听节目的你。

Everyone's an actor except one person who's just a normal person like me or Michelle or anybody out there listening.

Speaker 2

但他们其实知道有人在拍,只是以为是在拍纪录片,随便怎么解释都行。

But they're filming everything because they're like, Oh, we're filming for a documentary, whatever.

Speaker 2

所以他们知道自己被拍着,多少会注意点言行。

So they know there are cameras.

Speaker 2

但他们完全不知道,周围那些人全是演的。

So they're maybe on a little bit on better behavior because they know their cameras, but they don't know that everyone else is an actor.

Speaker 2

那些演员们不断做出越来越离谱的事,就为了看看这个普通人会有什么反应。

These actors are doing increasingly crazy stuff to see how this regular person reacts.

Speaker 2

这真的太好笑了。

And it is so funny.

Speaker 2

我笑得根本停不下来。

I laugh so hard.

Speaker 2

所以你得看看《陪审团》

So watch Jury

Speaker 0

我们俩一开始就被它迷住了。

Do We Do were First obsessed with it.

Speaker 0

而且特别棒,因为每集都很短。

And it's also so good because they're such short episodes.

Speaker 0

根本不会觉得拖沓。

Like it's not like They go by easily.

Speaker 0

是啊,太棒了。

Yeah, it's awesome.

Speaker 0

那你赶紧去

So go

Speaker 2

看吧。

watch it.

Speaker 2

很高兴你报出了名字,我之前还叫它‘公司度假’,其实叫‘公司 Retreat’。

I'm glad you read the name of it because I was calling it corporate retreat, but it's company retreat.

Speaker 0

公司团建。

Company retreat.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes

Speaker 2

大家快去看了吧。

guys, go watch it.

Speaker 2

在YouTube上给我们留个评论,说说你们是不是也和米歇尔和我一样喜欢。

A comment for us on YouTube to see if you liked it as much as Michelle and I did.

Speaker 2

之后我们再详细聊聊。

Then we'll talk about it more later.

Speaker 2

我简直着迷了。

I'm obsessed.

Speaker 2

我觉得特别有意思。

I think it's so fun.

Speaker 0

我也超喜欢。

I love it too.

Speaker 0

我也超喜欢。

I love it too.

Speaker 0

好了,我们现在开始。

All right, so here we are.

Speaker 2

热卷饼。

Hot Rolls.

Speaker 0

挺有意思的。

Fun.

Speaker 0

试试看例子。

Try examples.

Speaker 0

这个叫‘热热热’。

Okay, this one is called Hot Hot Hot.

Speaker 0

好吧,我来试试。

Okay, I'll try it.

Speaker 0

我还不

I don't

Speaker 2

很喜欢。

love it.

Speaker 2

我是说,我不太喜欢辣酱带果味,尤其是甜口的。

Yeah, I mean, I don't love when there's a fruity taste to a hot sauce, if it's sweet.

Speaker 0

我也是。

Same.

Speaker 0

好,下一个。

Alright, next one.

Speaker 0

比太阳还辣。

Hotter than the sun.

Speaker 0

好了,来试试。

Okay, here it goes.

Speaker 0

倒也不是不能接受。

I don't hate it.

Speaker 0

嗯,这味道还不赖。

Yeah, that's not bad.

Speaker 2

不错,对吧?

Nice, right?

Speaker 2

我说‘不讨厌’的时候,其实是挺喜欢的。

And so there, when I say I don't hate it, mean I really like this.

Speaker 0

有意思。

Interesting.

Speaker 0

真好吃。

So good.

Speaker 0

是啊,我一开始说我在试,还说‘不喜欢’。

Yeah, so first I said, I'm trying and I said, I don't love it.

Speaker 0

所以听起来我确实不太看好它。

So this definitely sounds like I'm not a huge fan.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 2

你意思是,‘不讨厌’,但肯定不会主动点它来配烧烤,对吧?

You're like, I don't hate it, but I certainly wouldn't like order it and put it on my barbecue Right?

Speaker 2

我不喜欢,然后我说了,我不喜欢烧烤酱里有水果味。

Don't like it And that then I said, yeah, I don't love when there's a fruity taste in a barbecue sauce.

Speaker 2

我们通常会这样用。

We'll often use it this way.

Speaker 2

我的意思跟我不喜欢有水果味的烧烤酱完全一样。

I'm saying, it means the exact same thing as I don't like when there's blah, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker 2

不过我们也会这么说。

But we say it this way as well.

Speaker 2

我不喜欢这种味道。

I don't love when it's like this.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

然后我说,好,下一个。

And then I said, okay, next one.

Speaker 0

我们现在来尝下一个样品。

So we're going to the next sample.

Speaker 0

我说,比太阳还辣。

I said, hotter than the sun.

Speaker 0

你说,好,来吧。

And you said, okay, here goes.

Speaker 0

然后你说,这倒也不讨厌。

And then you said, I don't hate it.

Speaker 0

意思是你挺意外的。

Which means you're pleasantly surprised.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

你本来觉得,因为刚才那阵笑,这东西估计没指望。

You thought that you, you didn't have high hopes based on the laughter

Speaker 2

就是之前那个果味的。

this other fruity one.

Speaker 2

我当时想,这些估计都差不离,结果这个我一尝,嘿,倒也不讨厌。

I'm like, These are all going to And be then this one I So I'm like, Okay, I don't hate it.

Speaker 2

意思是,其实不太喜欢这个。

Meaning, don't really like this one.

Speaker 2

但再说一遍,如果语调不一样,比如我只是说,我不讨厌它。

But again, if the intonation were different, if I was just like, I don't hate it.

Speaker 2

我不讨厌它。

I don't hate it.

Speaker 2

这可不等于说它就不错。

That wouldn't mean like it's okay.

Speaker 2

所以关键在于你用的语调。

So it really depends on your intonation here.

Speaker 2

回去再听一遍。

So go back and listen.

Speaker 2

注意我们这里的语调变化。

Pay attention to the intonation we're using.

Speaker 2

如果你想表达‘我超爱这个’,那这种语调就有点太夸张了。

It is sort of over exaggerated if you're wanting to say, I love this.

Speaker 2

我倒不是讨厌这个。

I don't hate this.

Speaker 2

说我不讨厌,这已经挺极端了。

It's pretty extreme I don't hate

Speaker 0

所以各位,如果还没听的话,回去听听前面几期。

So guys, if you haven't already, go back a few episodes.

Speaker 0

So Aubrey, takeaways for today.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,真的特别有意思。

I mean, is just so interesting.

Speaker 0

这里面涉及的语境、语调,还有你得仔细留意,想想怎么用这些表达,但它们确实非常自然。

There's so much about context, intonation, really paying attention here and considering how how you wanna use these phrases, but they are very natural.

Speaker 2

没错。

Absolutely.

Speaker 2

还有词汇的多样性。

And variety of vocabulary.

Speaker 2

你别老说‘我喜欢这个’‘我喜欢那个’。

You don't want to say, I like this, I like that.

Speaker 2

也不要说‘我不喜欢这个’‘那太无聊了’。

I don't like this, I don't like That's so boring.

Speaker 2

这些表达方式要有趣得多。

These are way more interesting ways to say that.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2

那东西也没多棒。

I didn't love that.

Speaker 2

在雅思口语考试里,就用这些表达。

Use this on IELTS speaking exam.

Speaker 0

对。

Uh-huh.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.
