If you're watching on YouTube, can see that my hair is now blonde.
刚才录节目一开始,可把米歇尔给惊到了

她确实染了。
She did.
那段时间其实挺让人焦虑的。

I love it.
好了。
Alright.
今天我们聊点什么,Michelle?
What are we getting into today, Michelle?
这期节目会非常有趣。
This is gonna be a really fun episode.
今天我们要回答一个来自瑞典的Marta的问题,我来读一下这个问题。
This is this is today we are answering a question from Marta from Sweden, and I'm gonna read the question.
好了吗?
Alright?
你准备好了吗?
You ready?
是的。
Yes.
是的。
Yes.
好的。
Okay.
好。
Alright.
所以玛尔塔说,你好。
So Marta says, hi.
谢谢你们做了这么棒的播客。
Thanks for an amazing podcast.
我已经听了一年多了,在很多方面都有了很大的进步。
I've been listening for more than a year and have had great progress in different areas.
我现在主要是在练发音。
I'm focusing on developing my pronunciation.
我的问题是这样的。
Here's my question.
我有时候听到你们对同一个词的发音不太一样。
I sometimes hear you pronounce words differently.
比如说“far”这个词,有人发成“far”,另一个人发成“sorry”。
For example, the word far when someone pronounces far and the other sorry.
奥布里。
Aubrey.
所以一个是“far”,另一个像“fr”。
So it's far and the other like fr.
或者
Or
像“fur”那样。
like fur.
你是在移动元音的位置。
You're kind of moving the vowel sound.
所以一个人说“far”,另一个人说“fur”。
So one might say far and the other one says fur.
“Fur”。
Fur.
对。
Right.
我觉得挺有意思的。
I got interesting.
你能不能给我们举一些例子,说明你们的发音虽然不同,但都是正确的用法?
Would it be possible for you to give us some examples where your pronunciation differs from each other but still is correct to use?
有时候我学了一种发音,然后又听到另一种,会有点困惑。
Sometimes I get a bit confused when I have learned one way and then hear another way.
那我不确定我是得改过来,还是能保持我原来的说法。
Then I'm not sure if I have if I have to change or if I can keep my way of saying it.
好的。
Mhmm.
非常感谢。
Thank you so much.
来自瑞典的玛尔塔致意。
Regards Marta from Sweden.
谢谢玛尔塔。
Thank you Marta.
哦,这个问题问得真好。
Oh, this is a great question.
对。
Yes.
这确实是个特别好的问题。
This is such a great question.
我琢磨了一会儿,因为我发现当我说是‘for’的时候,比如我说‘我要做十分钟’,那个元音肯定会被吞掉,听起来就像‘fur’这个词。
I thought about this a little while because I know that when I say for, like I'm gonna do this for ten minutes, I for sure drop that vowel and it sounds like fur like this.
就像我刚才说的,‘我要做这个十分钟’,听起来就是‘fur’。
Like I just said, I'm going to do this for ten minutes, fur.
不过对我来说,说‘far’的时候这种情况就少多了。
But it's less common for me at least when I say far.
我一时想不出什么句子会说‘那真的很远’,但也许……谁知道呢,对吧?
I couldn't think of any sentences where I'd say that's really far away, but maybe, who knows, right?
你永远不知道,根据我们说的话,下一个词会是什么。
You never know depending on what we're saying, what the next word is.
有时候我们会改一个元音,让发音更顺口。
Sometimes we'll change a vowel to make it easier to say it.
这确实有地域差异。
And this is definitely regional.
这种情况在美国某些地区、英国的其他方言区或者澳大利亚可能更常见。
This might be more common in certain parts of The United States or in other regional dialects in The UK or in Australia.
发音的差异有很多种,取决于一个人来自哪里或者住在哪里。
There's all kinds of pronunciation differences depending on where someone's from or where they live.
对。
Mhmm.
是的。
Yeah.
没错。
Exactly.
真有意思。
So interesting.
是的。
Yeah.
所以,我的意思是,人们可以省略一些音,而且你知道,这些地方口音确实会改变一些东西。
So, I mean, people can drop sounds and they can you know, these regional accents definitely can change things.
所以今天,我们要讨论为什么“far”这个词听起来可能不一样,并且给你更多美式英语中因为省略音和地区口音而听起来不同的单词例子。
So today, we're gonna talk about why the word far may have sounded different and give you more examples of American English words that sound different because of dropped sounds specifically and regional accents.
这些都非常实用,对交流很有帮助,因为它们能让你听懂口语。而且这些都是母语者常用的表达,所以也能让你的发音听起来更自然。
So these are all really good and important for connection because they can help you understand spoken English, and they're all just really common for native speakers so they can help you sound more natural as well.
当你能够识别出不同的地域口音时,你就能更多地了解这个人,比如他是在哪里长大的,奥布里。
And when you can pick up on regional accents, you understand a little bit more about the person, like where they grew up, Aubrey.
这真的很有趣。
So that's really fun.
没错。
Exactly.
我记得我和Lindsay录过一期很有趣的节目,聊的是我们发音不同的很多单词。
I remember Lindsay and I recorded an interesting episode about a lot of the words we say differently.
比如我说pecan(山核桃),她也说pecan;我说apricot(杏子),她也说apricot。
Like I say pecan, she says pecan, I say apricot, she says apricot.
像这样的词还有很多,主要取决于你来自哪里。你说apricot?
There are a lot of words like that that just depends on where you're You say apricot?
对,我是这么说的。
I do.
你也说 apricot 吗?
Do you say apricot as well?
我在西部长大。
I grew up in the West.
在西部很多地方,我们都叫 apricot。
A lot of the West we say apricot.
这些 apricot 是……我们都来自美国,但根据我们来自的地区,很多词的发音会不一样。
These apricots are And we're all from The United States, but depending on the region that we're from, we'll pronounce a lot of things differently.
这真的很有意思。
It's really interesting.
有趣的是,我说 pecans,但我说 pecan pie。
It's funny how I say pecans but I say pecan pie.
很多人说 pecan pie。
A lot of people say pecan pie.
即使在我住的地方,有时人们会说,你为什么说 pecan pie?
Even where I live, sometimes people are like, Why are you saying pecan pie?
这太奇怪了。
That's so strange.
所以这主要取决于你的出身、成长环境以及你习惯听到的发音。
So it just depends on where you're from, where you grew up and what you're used to hearing.
没错。
Right.
我知道Lindsay说的是rum,就是朗姆酒的那个词,对。
I know Lindsay says rum, like rum instead Yes, of
她就像在房间里一样,我在播客里经常听到这种说法。
she's like in the room and I hear that a lot on podcasts.
她说的是屋顶吗?
Does she say roof?
代替屋顶?
Instead of roof?
对,不过我也说屋顶。
Yes, but I also say roof.
大家就是永远不知道,对吧?
Guys just never know, right?
这太有意思了。
It's so interesting.
不过是的,我们今天要聊聊语音弱化。
But yeah, so we're going to talk about sound dropping today.
就是某个音变弱、变短,或者干脆消失。
This is when a sound becomes weak, short or just disappears.
这种情况经常出现在我们随意或快速说话的时候。
So often this happens when we're speaking casually or quickly.
比如有人单独指出“far”这个词,我会发得很清楚,far。
Like if someone points out the word far to me, I'm going to pronounce it very clearly, far.
但如果它出现在句子里,和其他词连在一起,我可能会根据说的内容和语速丢掉一些音。
But if it's in a sentence with other words, I might drop sounds depending on what I'm saying and how quickly I'm speaking.
对。
Mhmm.
对。
Yeah.
有意思。
Interesting.
有意思。
Interesting.
所以,各位,一定要点关注,这样就不会错过我们的任何内容,因为你永远不知道奥布里什么时候又会带来惊喜。

好的。
Alright.
那么奥布里,再跟我们多讲讲吧。
So Aubrey, tell us a little more.
我的意思是,你知道,关于声音弱化,就是当声音变得微弱、短促,或者干脆消失的时候。
I mean, you know, with sound dropping, it's just this is the when sounds become weak, short, or they just disappear.
对吧?
Right?
对。
Right.
那我们先从玛尔塔提到的那个词开始吧,就是FAR。
So let's start with the one Marta mentioned, FAR.
我没注意到你和我,或者林赛和我说这个词的时候有什么不同,但就像我们说的,这完全可能发生,取决于我们说什么以及说得有多快。
I haven't noticed that you and I or Lindsay and I say this differently, but like we said, it could definitely happen depending on what we're saying and how quickly.
而且如果后面跟着别的词,比如取决于那个词,中间的元音确实可能会变得更弱。
And if it's followed by something, like depending on the word, that vowel sound in the middle could definitely become softer.
我们可能不会说“far away”,听起来可能会更像“far away”那样。
We might instead of saying far away, it might sound a little more like far away.
对吧?
Right?
就是被省略了,或者变得弱化了。
Just becomes dropped or becomes softer.
而且就像我说的,这在我的方言里非常常见,尤其是“for”这个词。
And this is as I mentioned very common with for in my regional dialect.
它听起来常常像“fur”,对吧?
It often sounds like fur, right?
比如“just for fun”。
Just for fun.
或者“just for kicks”。
Just for kicks.
对吧?
Right?
很少会完整地发成“for”。
Rarely is for.
我经常会说成“fur”。
I often will say it fur.
对。
Right.
我觉得这挺有意思的。
I it's interesting.
我在想这个问题,我同意你的看法。
I'm thinking about this one, and I I agree with you.
因为“for”说起来更长。
I because for, that takes longer to say.
对吧?
Right?
所以那就是,你知道的,我们肯定是在节省时间。
So that's just you know, we're definitely just saving time there.
而且“for”更难说。
So And it's harder for
我们的嘴。
our mouth.
对吧?
Right?
说“是的”的时候。
To say Yeah.
为了好玩。
For fun.
为了
For
好玩。
fun.
这对我的肌肉来说太费劲了,所以我就不说了。
It's so much more work for the muscles in my So I'm dropping it.
我就是说“为了好玩”,尤其是在我说得很快的时候。
I'm just saying for fun, especially when I'm speaking very quickly.
就是好玩而已。
Just for fun.
没错。
Exactly.
所以,奥布里,当说话很快或很自然的时候,还有哪些常见的音会被省略掉,我们可以用呢?
So, I mean, Aubrey, when speaking quickly or naturally, what are some other sounds that are commonly dropped that we can use?
哦,这在英语里太常见了。
Oh, this is so common in English.
我们的发音课程里有一个完整的模块专门讲这个,因为母语者经常省略一些音。
Our pronunciation course has a whole module about this because native speakers often drop sounds.
比如,当我们把两个词连在一起,而且后面那个词的开头是辅音时,像“next day”,next 结尾的 T 就完全被省略了。
So for example, when we combine two words and there's a consonant at the end, like next day, the T at the end of next is totally dropped.
我们根本不说那个音。
We don't say it at all.
因为我们的舌头要发那个 T 音,然后再去发 D 音,太难了。
It's too difficult for our tongue to make that T and then get to the D.
所以这里就出现了省音现象。
And so there's elision there.
那个音就直接被省略了。
It's just replaced.
比如说,next day,你第二天做了什么?
And so for example, next day, What did you do the next day?
你完全听不到那个T的音。
You don't hear that T at all.
对。
Right.
就直接说成 the next day。
It would just be the next day.
就是
It's just
太费劲了。
too much.
太难说了。
Too hard to say.
对,实际上有人这么说听起来挺奇怪的。
Yeah, it sounds strange actually for someone to say.
"第二天",如果要把这两个词都重读并清晰发音,我觉得如果有人真这么说话,听着会很别扭。
The next day, Like to have those bumping and pronounce them both actually sounds odd to me if someone says that.
是的。
Yeah.
所以我们在其他情况里也会这么做,比如这里,我们举几个例子。
And so we might do this also with other things like here, let's give some examples.
比如说,不是 best dish,对吧?就像我之前说的,那是我吃过的最好的一道菜。
So instead of best dish, right, like that was the best dish I ever had.
所以我们直接说 the best dish,best dish。
So we would just say the best dish, best dish.
对吧?
Right?
没错。
Exactly.
我们把它们连起来,然后省略T的发音。
We link them and we drop the T.
那是我吃过最好吃的菜。
That's the best dish I ever heard.
你根本不用发T的音。
You don't even say the T at all.
或者像first time这样,两个T连在一起的时候,你不用两个都发出来。
Or first time, when there are two Ts together like that, you do not pronounce them both.
如果两个都发出来,会花太长时间,也太难了,听起来很不自然。
First time would take too long and would be too difficult, sounds very unnatural.
我们省略其中一个,说成first time。
We drop one of them and we say first time.
我们把它们连起来读。
We link them together.
没错。
Exactly.
或者我特别喜欢这个。
Or I love this one.
不说“just kidding”,对吧?
Instead of just kidding, right?
你会说“just kidding”。
You would say just kidding.
对。
Exactly.
那个K代替了T,我们很少会听到T的音。
That K replaces the T and we rarely will hear the T.
我们只说“just kidding,just kidding”。
We just say just kidding, just kidding.
我们完全省略了T。
We drop the T entirely.
没错。
Exactly.
所以我们要讲的第三点,是对于一些以 n、d、s 结尾的词,我们经常会把 d 的音省略掉。
And so the third thing that we wanna talk about is with some words that end in n d s, we often will drop the d sound.
比如像 friends 这个词,我们可能会说成 friends。
So for example, instead of the word friends, right, we might say friends.
就是 friends,而不是把 d 发出来。
Friends instead of friends.
没错。
Exactly.
朋友。
Friends.
朋友。
Friends.
我们完全不说那个d音,或者hands这个词。
We're not saying the d at all or hands.
Hands,那个d真的很难发出来。
Hands, it's so hard to say that d really.
直接说hands就行了。
Just say hands.
我们把d省略掉。
We drop the d.
对。
Yeah.
或者不说kinds,我们可能会说kinds。
Or instead of kinds, we might say kinds.
有意思的是,我们这么说的时候听起来就是这样。
It's funny because I it sounds so when we're saying it.
其实你还是有点在发那个音。
You're still kind of saying it.
你还是,我是说,我不会说它完全消失了,但确实轻了很多。
You're still, I mean, I wouldn't say it's like like to me it doesn't feel like it's totally, totally gone, but it's so much less.
就像,你其实不会特别去强调它。
Like, you're not gonna really emphasize It's the
还有那个d音,我们发这个音的时候,不需要用舌头用力顶住上颚。
like And the d, what we're not doing, when you make that d sound, have to push with your tongue on the roof of your mouth.
哒,哒。
Duh, duh.
我们完全不用那样做。
We're not doing that at all.
我们发的是kines,元音会稍微有点变化,但舌头还是保持在口腔后部,同时更强调n的发音,也就是kines,而不是去发那个duh的音。
We're saying kines and it's affecting the vowel a little bit, but we're keeping our tongue in the back of our mouth and we're sort of emphasizing the n more, kines, and we're not pushing for the duh sound.
Kines。
Kines.
对。
Right.
就像你说的,尽量弱化它。
Just minimize like you said.
没错。
Exactly.
那我想问一下,什么时候不能省略这些音呢?
So I mean when would you not drop these sounds?
问得好。
Good question.
在书写的时候,我们当然总是会把那些音写出来。
When writing, we always of course would write the sounds anyway.
对于很多这样的音,即使你是作者在写书,想通过改动来省略某些音或者做改变,你仍然会把它们都写出来。
For a lot of these sounds, even if you are an author writing a book and you're trying to change things to drop certain sounds or change, you still would include all of these.
还是不会写“first time”而把“first”的“t”省掉,尽管很多时候发音就是这样。另外,在说话慢或清晰的时候,或者你想特意强调某个东西的时候。
Still wouldn't write first time and leave the T off of first even though it's said that way a lot And also when speaking slowly or clearly, when you're trying to intentionally emphasize something.
就像你刚才说“Just kidding”的时候,当我们想强调的时候。
Just like when you and when we want to emphasize, when you just said, Just kidding.
我有时候可能会那样说。
I might say it that way sometimes.
开玩笑的。
Just kidding.
作为玩笑的一部分,为了强调这是个玩笑。
As part of the joke to emphasize that it's a joke.
好了各位,开玩笑的。
Okay guys, just kidding.
我放慢了语速。
I'm slowing it down.
我故意强调每个音,是有目的的。
I'm emphasizing every sound for a purpose.
对。
Right.
没错。
Exactly.
或者,比如你跟伴侣吵架的时候,你说了什么,对方说,你怎么能这么说?
Or even if you're like kind of like fighting with your partner or something and you said something and they're like, how could you say that?
你可能会说,我刚才只是开玩笑。
You might say, I was just kidding.
对吧?
Right?
没错。
Exactly.
你是
You're
出于某种原因特意强调它。
emphasizing it for some reason.
没错。
Exactly.
所以你可能是在改变语气或情绪。
So you could be changing the emotion.
你甚至可能在连读,你知道吗?
You could be chain you know?
所以它的可能性太多了。
So there's so much that it could be.
跟这个打交道真的挺有意思的。
It's really fun to to play with this.
对。
Yes.
很多英语学习者都把重点放在语法上。
Many English learners focus on grammar.
他们希望自己的句子语法正确,但流利度不仅仅是指不出错。
They want their sentences to be correct, but fluency isn't just about being correct.
它关乎表达是否自然、用词是否恰当,以及能否不经过大脑翻译就快速回应。
It's about sounding natural, choosing the right phrase, responding quickly without translating every thought in your head.
这就是为什么有些人虽然掌握了很多语法规则,但在对话中依然会感到不自在。
That's why someone can know a lot of grammar rules and still feel uncomfortable in conversations.
真正的流利来自于对语言模式、语气和地道表达的熟悉。
Real fluency comes from understanding patterns, tone, and natural expressions.

好,那我们回到玛尔塔的问题:有没有一些地区口音会影响“far”的发音?
Okay, so going back to Marta's question, are there regional accents that would affect the way far is pronounced?
是的,绝对有。
Yes, absolutely.
对吧?
Right?
那我们来看看美国的一些地区口音。
So let's go through some of these regional accents in The United States.
比如东海岸的部分地区,像波士顿,那里的“R”发音就很不一样,对吧?
Parts of the East Coast, Boston for example, the R is very different, right?
对。
Mhmm.
是的。
Yes.
所以这个音可能会发得很轻,甚至直接省略掉。
So it can be very weak or even dropped.
因此,你可能听到的不是 far,而是 fa。
So instead of far, you might hear fa.
对吧?
Right?
波士顿在这方面可是出了名的。
And this Boston is famous famous for this.
是的。
Yeah.
它是
It's
不是bar。
not bar.
它是
It's
a。
a.
东部的地方。
Places in the East.
对吧?
Right?
是的。
Yeah.
比如 car,变成 ca?像 car park 那样?
Instead of car, car Car park?
怎么
How do
他们说的是停车场吗?
they say car park?
停车场。
Car park.
所以有个笑话是说,把车停在哈维兰,对吧?
So there's a joke like, pack the car in Havilland, right?
对,把车停在哈维兰。
Mhmm, the car in Havilland.
所以如果你看过《心灵捕手》的话,
So if you watch Goodwill Hunting,
这挺有趣的。
this funny.
我在想呢。
Thinking.
对。
Yeah.
还有本·阿弗莱克,他们俩在电影里都带着波士顿口音。
And Ben Affleck are letting their Boston accents out.
在那部电影里,他们的口音特别重,而且很自豪地展现出来。
They're, like, loud and proud in that movie.
对。
Yes.
没错。
Exactly.
或者是南方人。
Or southerners.
所以有些人说话带拖音,基本上就是元音发音被拉长了。
So some have a drawl, and that is basically when the vowel sounds are elongated.
对吧?
Right?
比如说,本来要说‘我要让你去做’。
So instead of I'm gonna let you do it.
你先来。
You start.
所以它几乎变成了三个音节。
So it almost becomes three syllables.
对吧?
Right?
远。
Far.
就像你离家很远。
Like you're quite far from home.
稍微加一点额外的元音。
Kind of add that little bit of an extra vowel.
或者“day”这个词听起来更像“die”。
Or the word day might sound more like die.
die。
Die.
戴。
Die.
这取决于你在哪里,会有所不同。
It's different depending on where are.
如果你在亚特兰大、乔治亚州、南卡罗来纳州或德克萨斯州,每个地方都会有点不一样。
If you're in Atlanta, Georgia or South Carolina or Texas or right, it's a little bit different everywhere you go.
对。
Mhmm.
而且你可能在长元音上听得更清楚,比如不说“我没有时间”,而是“我没有时间”。
And you might hear this more clearly with longer vowels like instead of I don't have time, I don't have time.
对吧?
Right?
或者“她说得对”。
Or she's right.
她说得对。
She's right.
展开剩余字幕(还有 167 条)
对吧?
Right?
她是
She's
对的。
right.
是的。
Yeah.
但有时候人们模仿南方口音时,会说“对,对,对”。
But sometimes when people mimic the southern accent, they'll say right, right, right.
你只是在拉长元音。
And you're just elongating your vowels.
对。
Yes.
没错。
Exactly.
或者中西部的人也是。
Or also Midwesterners.
尤其是老一辈的人,我觉得。
So especially, I think, older generations.
对吧?
Right?
这不一定是关于“far”这个词,而是关于字母 r。
It's not this is not necessarily about far, but the letter r.
因为有些中西部人会在本来没有 r 的单词里加上 r 的音。
Because some Midwesterners actually add r sounds in words that don't typically have one.
是的。
Yes.
而且中西部肯定有,西部某些地方也是,比如爱达荷州,它在西北部,他们完全是这样。
And also, the Midwest definitely and parts of the West as well, Idaho, which is in the Northwest, they totally do this.
比如说“wash”,他们说成“warsh”。
So for example, wash, they say wash.
比如我说我要去洗衣服。
Like I'm going go wash my clothes.
在我长大的地方,我常听到年纪大的农民这么说。
Where I grew up, I would hear older farmers say this.
所以这挺有意思的,因为我这个年纪的人很少这么说了,主要是因为他们平时看电影、听播客比较多。
So it was really interesting because no one my age, I rarely hear anyone my age say this, mostly because they were listening to movies and podcasts.
他们听到的都是不这么说话的人。
They're hearing a lot of people not do that.
但很多老一辈人,他们主要跟同龄的老农民聊天,还是会经常这么发音。
But a lot of the older generation that mostly just talk to older farmers their age, they still do this all the time.
如果我跟我爷爷待在一起,爷爷,我的爷爷。
If I would hang out with my grandpa, grandpa, my grandpa.
爷爷。
Grandpa.
对。
Yeah.
我爷爷会说,去洗手。
My grandpa would be like, go wash your hands.
该吃晚饭了。
It's time to eat dinner.
对。
Yeah.
对。
Yeah.
对。
Yeah.
对。
Yeah.
对。
Yeah.
或者看到了。
Or saw.
他们可能会把 saw 说成什么样子?
How might they say saw?
哦,是 saw。
Oh, saw.
所以 sore。
So sore.
对。
Yeah.
他们可能会说,我在树上看到一只鸟。
They'd be like, I saw a bird up in the tree.
我爷爷也这样。
My grandpa did this too.
或者天哪。
Or gosh.
我会说‘哎呀’。
I'll say garsh.
哎呀。
Garsh.
就像,哦,哎呀。
Like, oh, garsh.
这是怎么回事?
What's going on here?
哦,更像是“天哪”。
Oh, it's more like gorsh.
哦,天哪。
Oh, gosh.
其实我的祖父母并不这么说。
Mine actually my grandparents didn't say that.
这可能在中部地区更常见,但他们确实会把 'wash' 和 'saw' 说成带 r 音的版本。
That may be more common in the Midwest, but they totally did wash and saw.
他们会在这些词后面加上 r 的发音。
They would add that r.
对。
Yeah.
天哪。
Oh my gosh.
好的。
Okay.
那我们要不要来演一下?
So should we do a role play?
对。
Yeah.
那就开始吧。
Let's do it.
咱们是朋友,所以我问你:你是不是在问我那家我去过的餐厅?
We are friends here and I'm asking are you asking me about a restaurant that you that I visited?
好的。
Okay.
开始吧。
Here we go.
你去过那家新餐厅了吗?
Did you check out that new restaurant?
是的。
Yes.
我昨晚去的。
I went last night.
那是我第一次去。
It was my first time going.
哦,不错。
Oh, nice.
你和谁一起去的?
Who did you go with?
我和一些同事一起去的。
I went with some work friends.
我们都特别喜欢。
We all loved it.
食物太棒了。
The food was incredible.
对。
Yeah.
他们确实有适合每个人的东西,而且我喜欢他们那里供应的各种意大利面。
They really do have something for everyone and I loved all the different kinds of pasta they serve there.
我也是。
Same.
但我觉得我不会
But I don't think I'll
经常去那里。
be going there too often.
就是太远了。
It's just so far away.
对。
Yeah.
而且这个地方嘛,嗯,虽然我们会从头到尾聊一遍,但我绝不会用‘远’来形容它。
And this is one where, well, we'll go through the whole thing but I would never say like fur away.
我会用‘毛茸茸的’(fur)来描述。
I would use that for fur.
就像,我只去几分钟,听起来像是‘毛茸茸的’(fur),但‘很远’(far away)……可能在某些地区或方言里他们确实会这么说,但我没遇到过这种情况。
Like, I'm only going for a few minutes and it sounds like fur but fur away, there could be certain regions, regional dialects where they do that, but mine did not.
所以我通常觉得那里挺远的。
So I usually pronounce far.
对。
Yeah.
是的。
Yeah.
好吧。
Alright.
所以我就说,你去过那家新餐厅了吗?
So I said, did you check out that new restaurant?
然后你说,去过了。
And you said, yes.
我昨晚去的。
I went last night.
对吧?
Right?
所以你把那个t音省掉了。
So you took out the t.
对。
Mhmm.
然后那也是我第一次去,也是一样的情况。
And then it was my first time going, same thing.
我们不会把这两个t音都发出来。
We're not gonna pronounce both of those t's.
第一次。
First time.
你听到中间那个 t 音只出现一次。
You hear that t sound in the middle just once.
对。
Yep.
然后你说我和一些工作朋友一起去的,基本上你的 t 音变成了 d 音,d 音几乎完全消失了。
And then you said I went with some work friends and basically your T is me, the D is almost completely gone.
它被弱化得很厉害。
It's very minimized.
我们不会在口腔前部用力发那个音。
We're not pronouncing it really really hard in the front of the mouth.
它靠后,而且更柔和。
It's back and softer.
所以是 friends,friends。
So friends, friends.
对。
Mhmm.
然后它就变成了一个类似 n z 的音。
And it just sort of becomes an n z sound.
Friends。
Friends.
是的。
Yeah.
然后我说,是的。
And then I said, yeah.
他们确实有适合每个人的东西。
They really do have something for everyone.
所以我没有说他们确实有适合每个人的东西。
So I didn't say they do have something for everyone.
只是这样更快,也更常见。
It's it's just faster this way and more common.
非常常见。
Very common.
几乎每个美国英语使用者,还有很多英国英语使用者,在说“four”的时候都会把中间的“o”弱化,几乎每次都是这样。
Almost every American English speaker, lots of British English speakers are gonna minimize the o in the middle of four with almost everything they say.
对吧?
Right?
太远了。
It's too far away.
不是太远。
Not too far away.
我不会说“something for everyone”里的“for”是那样读的。
I don't go if there's something for everyone.
然后
And
我说
then I said
我喜欢各种各样的意面。
I loved all the different kinds of pasta.
同样的,d的发音也会弱化。
Same thing that d is minimized.
种类。对。
Kinds Mhmm.
听起来更像k、i、n、z这几个音连在一起。
It's more like k I n z.
对。
Mhmm.
然后你说它太远了。
And then you said it's just so far away.
不过再说一次,我们之前聊过,其实我们很少说‘太远’。
But again, we talked about this is not really something we don't really say far away.
对吧?
Right?
对。
Yeah.
但有些人可能会,取决于他们来自哪里。
But someone might depending on where they're from.
当然。
Definitely.
而且我毫不怀疑这位听众是在播客上听到这个的,因为当我们说得很快,同时还在说其他事情时,任何音都可能被弱化,就像你为了说话轻松而省略一些音。
And I do not doubt that this listener heard this on the podcast because when we're speaking quickly and there's other things we're saying, any sound could be minimized as you're just dropping sounds for ease of speech.
对。
Yeah.
对。
Yeah.
没错。
Exactly.

所以今天的要点是,记住吞音和地域口音只是单词听起来不同的两个原因。
So takeaway for today, remember that dropped sounds and regional accents are just two reasons words can sound different.
所以不要太纠结于和别人发音完全一样。
So just don't cut too caught up in pronouncing things exactly the same as someone else.
我们总是要回到沟通的本质,没错。
We just always gonna go back to connection, Exactly.
好的。
Alright.
你。
