In In this episode, we bring you a reading from Chao Shi Huang about Beijing's proposed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, or AIIB.

Impatient with reform to international financial institutions, last year Beijing proposed the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

尽管华盛顿一直在私下游说其盟友不要加入中国的开发银行，但伦敦最近却打破立场，成为AIIB的创始成员国，财政大臣乔治·奥斯本称此举符合国家利益。

Though Washington has quietly lobbied its allies to avoid joining China's development bank, London recently broke ranks and signed up to be an AIIB founding member with Finance Minister George Osborne calling it in the national interest.

白宫对此反应愤怒，告诉英国人，这不是与一个崛起大国互动的正确方式。

The White House responded angrily, telling the British this was not the way to engage a rising power.
