He was asking folks to share their best award travel experience.

Actually, it was really more their best travel experience, not necessarily focused on award travel for the year 2025.

So Paul had he had quite a list from both flights and meals and activities, But his favorite flight, I thought this was good, was Swiss first class with another member, May, who I swear he lives on a plane.

I'm I'm always, like, stunned when he's makes it to Taco Tuesday.

I'm like, you're actually home.

He worked some kind of mileage miracle, and they flew together from Zurich to LAX.

And he said it was magical.

很多人分享了他们今年最享受的旅行经历。

A lot of people chimed in with what, you know, they really, really enjoyed for the year.

很多都是像阿联酋头等舱、新加坡航空套房这类让人向往的舱位。

A lot of those aspirational cabins like Emirates First Class and Singapore Suites.

也有人是从美国出发的。

Others were flying out of The US.

我特别喜欢其中一个故事，是为了退休做准备，他打算彻底变成一个慢旅行者。

I I particularly enjoyed this one to begin retirement, and he's going to be a full time slow traveler.

还有些人提到的是更小的温馨时刻，比如能和远在另一端的亲人团聚。

And then there were others which is the smaller memories, like being able to be with a loved one on the other side of the country.

我都没在那条帖子下留言，因为那会儿正忙着过节的事儿。

And I didn't even chime in on that post because I was busy with holiday things or whatnot.

那你2025年最难忘的回忆会是什么？

What what would be your top memory for 2025?

我觉得我坐了荷兰皇家航空，平时我基本都是坐经济舱的。

I think for me, I flew KLM, and I'm pretty much an economy traveler.

But I flew I flew KLM premium economy from Amsterdam to Vegas, and that was a nice experience on the way back.

I typically, I I traveled.

We'll get into this later.

I travel over the winter when it's cheaper, but this was a summer trip.

It was really good.

It was warmer, and I just it was just a great experience overall.

Well, I very, very much loved my, you know, my trip to Slovenia and Croatia with the girls back in the spring.

最让我难忘的其实是去缅因州参加家庭聚会，逛了阿卡迪亚国家公园，能见到姑姑和堂兄弟姐妹们。

Probably my favorite was actually doing my family reunion up to Maine and go to Acadia because I got to see my aunts, my cousins.

我儿子们也一起去的，现在我们很难再这样聚在一起了。

I got my boys were with us, and we just don't get together like that anymore.

现在除非是葬礼或者婚礼，不然大家很难凑到一块儿。

It's anymore, it's like we either got a funeral or a wedding before we all get together.

这次见面真好，大家聚在一起玩得很开心。

So this was nice just to see each other and have a great time.

我圣诞节那天还跟我姑姑聊了会儿。

It's like I talked to my aunt on Christmas day.

她问我：‘你这回怎么突然联系了？’

She goes, what's up with this?

她说：‘我平时节假日从来都听不到你声音。’

She goes, I never talked to you on the holidays.

我只好说：‘嗯，我也不太清楚为什么。’

I'm like, well, I just I don't know.

我说：‘我得慢慢适应这种状态了。’

I'm like, I'm gonna get used to it.

但我真的觉得，跟大家聊天、玩游戏特别开心，就这么一直保持下去也不错。

But I I was like, I had so much fun chatting with everybody and playing games that it was kinda nice to keep it up.

所以我的回忆就是这种小小的温馨时刻。

So mine was one of those smaller moments like that.

Definitely.

但我大部分都用了积分，体验依然很棒。

But I did use points for most of it, and it was still a great experience.

Bilt悄悄在他们的旅行平台上新增了奖励航班搜索功能。

Bilt quietly added an award flight search feature to this travel portal.

以前你就能用他们的积分查询工具，现在搜索航班时，可以直接看到现金票价、通过平台兑换所需的Bilt积分，以及转给航空合作伙伴所需的积分，所有信息一目了然。

You've always been able to kinda use their version of point.me, but now it's when you search for a flight, you'll be able to view the revenue fare, the Bilt rewards needed if you wanted to book through the portal, and the rewards required to transfer to an airline partner, kind of all there in one fell swoop.

我还没亲自试过，所以不清楚操作起来方便不方便。

I haven't tested this out yet, so I don't know how easy it is.

不过考虑到Bilt有不少不错的航空公司合作伙伴，这个功能还挺实用的。

But considering Bilt has some, you know, really good airline partners, that's kind of a handy little feature.

我手头的Bilt积分也不多。

I don't have a ton of Bilt miles.

所以我不确定这对我有没有什么实际用处。

So so I don't know if that's gonna ever do me any good.

但如果你积了不少，那就值得去试试，看看怎么用。

But if you do, that's something to go and check it out, see how it works.

I mean, obviously, we know Chase is one to one to hype, but Bilt is also one to one.

And along that front with Bilt, mean, we this is, you know, still unconfirmed by what we saw looking on Reddit.

You know, Bilt has kinda talked about being able to earn on mortgages for a while now.

这事儿其实早就有传闻了。

I mean, we've kinda seen that rumored.

有个Reddit帖子说，据说是Bilt内部的人透露，以后还房贷不仅能攒积分，连本金、利息、房产税和保险都能算进去。

And there's this Reddit post that apparently from someone within Bilt close to Bilt or within Bilt that you're gonna be able to earn points on your mortgage, not not only on the on the principal and the interest, but also on the taxes insurance.

这对房主来说，可能是个挺划算的福利。

So that could be potentially be, you know, lucrative for homeowners.

确实有可能。

It could.

And Cameron and I touched on it a little bit when we recorded our previous episode.

But, again, you know, it's one of those cards that it might be of interest to get this year depending on what changes.

And and I know I'm gonna do a one on one with one of our longtime members, and he has the Bilt card.

阿拉斯加航空氛围奖励计划的积分获取比例。

Alaska Atmosphere Rewards partner earning rates.

当然。

Sure.

我一直很喜欢阿拉斯加航空的计划，主要是因为它按飞行里程计算，而不是按消费金额。

So so I've always loved Alaska's program just in general because it's it's mileage based as opposed to spend based.

你看，美国航空这些其他航空公司的会员体系基本都是看你花了多少钱，但阿拉斯加航空可能是北美地区唯一还坚持按实际飞行里程计分的了。

You know, we we see with American has loyalty points and other programs are pretty much it's it's based on your spend, but Alaska's probably the only remaining one in North America where it's based on mileage earned.

这次调整会在2026年晚些时候生效。

So this is and with this change so this will happen later on in 2026.

具体日期现在还不知道。

We don't know the date yet.

如果你预订了合作航空公司的商务舱或头等舱现金机票，最多能拿到250%的精英资格里程，这比例太可观了。

But if you if you book a business or first class ticket, cash ticket on a partner airline, you could earn up to 250% EQM, which is which is huge.

举个例子，现在从迈阿密飞伦敦，坐头等舱在英国航空那边只能攒大约六千英里，但按新规则就不一样了。

I mean, that's in the story, write about how if you go from Miami to London right now in business class I mean, in first class, that that ticket will only earn you 6,000 about 6,000 miles in British Airways.

天哪。

Oh, gosh.

根据这项新规定，你能拿到一万一千多英里。

Under this new charter, yeah, it'll earn you more than 11,000 miles.

这差距可太大了。

So that's that's a huge difference.

That is a big difference.

So so, I mean so so if if you have a business or if you're planning, you know, a business or first class flight and it's a cash ticket, you might wanna rate around for these changes with Alaska and credit that flight, you know, to Alaska.

That's helpful for the people, the business flyers who their their company is paying for their ticket versus

or I'm paying for my ticket, and I'm gonna be some points.

So it's not gonna be an issue.

So that also helps with status as well because if you're you know, know, if you have 11,000 miles, you're already close to hitting an ATPO silver status.

You found some, really cheap JetBlue award flights, like 800 points to fly from what?

You know, I've got all those that Blue Miles.

I'm probably not gonna go bop over to Fort Lauderdale to make these trips.

但如果你在南佛罗里达，或者从其他地方转机，这可是个超值的选择。

But if you're in South Florida or you are connecting from somewhere else, this could be a really good deal.

They are the the the blue basic.

就像上周那个哥们发的帖子，他不小心订了基础舱，结果改不了签，白白浪费了一大堆积分。

So this is like that guy that had the the post of the week last week that he accidentally booked the blue basic fair and was not able to change it and lost a boatload of points.

要是他订了这种票，才只要800点。

You know, if he booked one of these, it was only 800 points.

如果你不用非得搭这趟航班，就不会这么难受了。

It wouldn't have been as painful if you didn't have to take the tech you have to take the trip.

So be advised that you can't change them if you book one of these.

So the next one we have so this is something that that so if you have a Marriott platinum or titanium status, you're able to match status match.

And and I love status matches because it's if you have one status, you could kinda kinda kinda it's kinda like a hamster wheel.

你只要不断去申请，就能一直维持着高阶身份。

You kinda you just go around and and keep matching.

一开始你能匹配到新加坡航空的银卡，但你真正想要的是金卡。

So you're able to match so so initially, you'll be able to match to Singapore Airlines' silver status, which which but what you really want is gold.

银卡是立刻生效的，但想拿到金卡，你得一年内坐四次新加坡航空的航班。

And and and the you'll so you'll match instantly in silver, but you'll need to fly Singapore Airlines four times in a year to get gold status.

And I did this back in 2024, So I spent a whole week.

I I flew from Milan to Barcelona, which is one of the one of the I believe one of the fifth freedom flights on Singapore Airlines.

I mean, if you kinda plan it out I mean, for me, and so the big benefit with Star Line's gold status, and this only applies to status on non US airlines.

So if you had if you so if you got Star Line's gold through Singapore, you'll be able to access a United Club, let's say, here in The US, even on a domestic ticket.

So that's always a big benefit.

Here, please go to our very lovely lounge, which we were like, really?

That's nice.

不过呢，我确实跟汉莎航空做了会员等级匹配，现在已经是尊贵会员了。

However, I did do the the status match with Lufthansa, and I am senator now.

这个周末我还拿到了专属行李标签，还有那种精致的压花卡片和漂亮的真皮行李袋。

I even got bag tags this weekend with this really nice, you know, embossed card and these beautiful leather leather, you know, bags.

我得好好查查这个会员资格到底能享有哪些权益，我觉得应该跟联合航空的待遇差不多，甚至更好，只是我从不坐联合航空的国内航班。

I gotta figure out what the heck that status gets me because I think it gets me the same thing or even better, but I never fly United domestically or anyway.

But I've got it.

So it's just deciding what works as far as dates and, you know, itineraries.

I think Holland America might be a bit of an old demographic for you.

I don't know that you would enjoy that one quite as much.

I think of the really janky hotel I stayed at up in New England on a road trip.

I I just does not have positive connotations for me.

I mean, I've used it in Canada, in Europe, in Asia.

So that's what we're gonna get into today.

So and the reason for doing this this episode is that Choice is actually launching a new titanium status this year in 2026.

So that's that's that's so beyond their normal membership level, and then you have gold, platinum, and diamonds.

So titanium is is what's new to the fray.

So what are the different stat like, what are the different status levels get you in terms of, you know, benefits and earning and where's the sweet spot with them as well?

And, you know, I could get it if I stayed a bunch of nights, but or I could just go open a credit card.

So what's the sweet spot for status, and what do the different levels get you?

基础会员、金卡是住满五晚，白金是十五晚，钻卡是三十五晚，钛金则是五十五晚。

So the the basic membership and then gold is five nights, platinum is 15, diamond is 35, and then titanium is is 55.

我觉得最值得考虑的是钻卡或者钛金。

So I would say the sweet spot is either diamond or titanium.

钻卡开始就有很多实在的福利了，比如在美洲地区的传统拉迪森酒店可以免费吃早餐。

Diamond is where it starts to get really interesting with you have free breakfast at legacy Radisson properties in The Americas.

2022年的时候，Choice其实收购了美洲地区的所有丽笙酒店。

So back in 2022, Choice actually acquired the Radisson properties in The Americas.

所以在美洲地区，只要你有钻石等级，住任何丽笙酒店都能免费吃早餐。

So any Radisson you stay at in The Americas, if you have Diamond status, you'll get you'll get free breakfast.

钻石和钛金等级的积分奖励是一样的，现金入住都能拿到50%的额外积分。

And the point earnings are also the same for diamond and titanium, so you'll get 50% bonus points on cash days.

这一点确实挺有吸引力的。

So that's that's a that's a big benefit there.

So what's the positive of Choice versus why would you pick a Choice property over a Hilton?

Because as we know, Hyatt doesn't have the huge footprint, and those aren't necessarily gonna be in the places that you wanna go.

Is that kinda one of their benefits is that they're gonna be in some of these places?

Because I know they're really good, like, up in Scandinavia.

So but one of the and I think you'll appreciate this because because I know you're pretty team free agent, is that so when you book a Choice property and points, you could book any room type at that same point level.

So if a property is 10,000 points, you could book into the suite for the same 10,000 points as the base, you know, two queen bedroom, which is I think it's pretty amazing.

If you need more space, you know, you're you're with your family and you don't wanna shell out more points, I mean, it's nice to have for sure.

So there's still that that the great thing so there's there's two Choice credit cards.

一张是基础款的万事达卡，直接送金卡会员资格，而且没有年费。

So there's the base level Mastercard, which is comes with automatic gold status, and you have no annual fee there.

除了金卡资格，每年还送90个精英积分。

So that comes with besides the gold status, that also comes with 10 elite nine credits every year.

So that'll get gets you bumped up pretty quickly.

And, you know, plus plus normal stays.

That that will help you get to that diamond or titanium level.

And it's also important to point out to the the requirements for diamond actually dropped in 2026.

So it's thirty five nights now as opposed to last year in 2025, it was forty nights.

So, you know, with a credit card and a couple you know, you're starting with 10 elite nights, you're gonna get to Diamond or or Titanium pretty quickly.

And so on the on the select Mastercard, so that's that's their premium credit card for Choice.

That's a $95 annual fee, and that comes with automatic platinum status.

So that's even you know, it's double double than than the base Mastercard.
