英语学习者

The

Speaker 2

犯的最大错误,就是以为自己被困住了。

biggest mistake English learners make, assuming they're stuck.

Speaker 2

他们觉得自己已经到极限了,但其实大多数学习者根本没有达到极限。

They think they've reached their limit, but most learners haven't reached a limit at all.

Speaker 2

他们只是把精力放在了对当前水平来说不合适的技能上。

They're simply focusing on the wrong skills for their current level.

Speaker 2

所以,了解自己的水平很重要。

That's why understanding your level matters.

Speaker 1

Michelle,最近怎么样?

Michelle, how's it going?

Speaker 1

挺好的。

Pretty well.

Speaker 1

奥布里,你好吗?

Aubrey, how are you?

Speaker 2

非常好。

Excellent.

Speaker 2

真遗憾我们不能经常一起参加欢乐时光。

I'm sad we don't get to meet very often for happy hour.

Speaker 2

我很喜欢欢乐时光。

I love a happy hour.

Speaker 1

我也是。

Me too.

Speaker 2

可惜的是,我住在国家的另一边。

Unfortunately, I live on other sides of the country I

Speaker 1

我以前经常参加欢乐时光,

used to go to happy hour

Speaker 2

在之前的工作中,这真的是一个很好的机会来拓展人脉和与同事交流。

a lot at previous jobs and it's such a great opportunity to network and connect with coworkers.

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1

对,那是最好的。

Yeah, it's the best.

Speaker 1

所以,朋友们,在这个系列的第一部分,我们分享了邀请同事出去玩的技巧和短语。

So guys, in the first part of this series, we shared tips and phrases for asking coworkers to hang out.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 2

一旦他们接受了你的邀请,你怎么确保一切顺利呢?

And once they accept your invitation, how can you make sure it goes well?

Speaker 1

没错。

Right.

Speaker 1

所以,朋友们,你想和同事建立联系,而最好的时机往往是在工作之外,比如欢乐时光或其他社交聚会。

So guys, you wanna build connections with coworkers and often the best time to do this is outside of work at a happy hour or another type of social get together.

Speaker 2

所以今天,我们分享一集关于如何在欢乐时光中开心的技巧。

So today, we're sharing an episode with tips on how to be happy at happy hour.

Speaker 2

你会学到关于点饮料的短语、给小费和买单的细节,以及该说什么或做什么来确保没人酒驾回家。

You're going to learn phrases about ordering a drink, details about tipping and picking up the bill, and what to say or do to make sure no one drives home drunk.

Speaker 2

这太有意思了。

It's fascinating.

Speaker 2

这真的很重要。

This is so important.

Speaker 2

所有这些短语,以及很多你用母语知道怎么做的事情,但你能用英语做到吗?

All of these phrases and a lot of things that you know how to do in your first language but can you do it in English?

Speaker 2

我对这集很期待,这样你就能做到了。

I'm excited for this episode so that you will be able to.

Speaker 1

好的。

Alright.

Speaker 1

太棒了。

Awesome.

Speaker 1

那我们就来听听这集吧。

Well, let's listen to the episode.

Speaker 0

嘿,米歇尔。

Hey, Michelle.

Speaker 0

最近怎么样?

How's it going?

Speaker 1

嘿,林赛。

Hey, Lindsay.

Speaker 1

挺好的。

Pretty good.

Speaker 1

挺好的。

Pretty good.

Speaker 1

你呢?

How are you?

Speaker 0

我感觉棒极了。

I'm feeling great.

Speaker 0

我感觉棒极了。

I'm feeling great.

Speaker 0

快到周末了,所以挺好的。

It's almost the weekend, so that's good.

Speaker 0

我一直在留意,你知道,现在是节日季,所以这个时候跟同事或朋友出去喝一杯真的很常见。

I'm always looking and, you know, it's the holiday season, so it's really common to go out to happy hour, you know, with colleagues or with friends around this time of year.

Speaker 0

你喜欢这样吗?

Do you like to do that?

Speaker 1

当然喜欢。

Definitely.

Speaker 1

我喜欢去参加节日派对、欢乐时光和各种活动。

I like to go to holiday parties and happy hours and all sorts of things.

Speaker 1

非常非常有趣。

It's very it's very fun.

Speaker 0

而且我们其实有一位听众。

And we actually had a listener.

Speaker 0

她的名字是周江欢,或者周。

So the name is Jianghuan Zhou or Zhou.

Speaker 0

亚历克西亚是这个人的昵称。

Alexia is this person's nickname.

Speaker 0

所以,感谢这位朋友。

So thank you to this person.

Speaker 0

谢谢你提出这个问题。

Thank you for asking this risk.

Speaker 0

郑媛写信来问我们,在欢乐时光该怎么点酒水。

So Zheng Yuan wrote in and asked us the question, you know, how can we order drinks at a happy hour?

Speaker 0

在这种场合,我们需要掌握哪些用语才能应对自如?

What are some of what's some of the language that we need to succeed in this situation?

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

而“应对自如”可能包含很多方面。

And succeed could mean a number of things.

Speaker 0

比如,如果和同事出去喝酒,可能是为了和老板拉近关系,或者是为了认识新朋友。

It could mean to connect with our boss, right, if we go out with our colleagues for drinks or maybe to meet someone.

Speaker 0

不过呢,我们可以给你们一些好用的表达,教你们在欢乐时光这种场合怎么应对。

But, you know, there's some good phrases that we can give you guys to how for how to handle yourself in this situation at a happy hour.

Speaker 0

首先,米歇尔,什么是欢乐时光?

First of all, Michelle, what is a happy hour?

Speaker 0

我们这里说的是什么呢?

What are we talking about here?

Speaker 1

通常,欢乐时光是下班后进行的活动。

Usually, a happy hour is something that happens after work.

Speaker 1

通常我也不太确定。

Usually I don't know.

Speaker 1

你觉得一般是什么时间呢?

What time would you say it usually is?

Speaker 0

我觉得一般从五点开始,五点到六点吧。

Like, I think it usually starts at five, five or six.

Speaker 1

对,差不多就是这样。

So, yeah, something like that.

Speaker 1

而且通常会有很多饮品,比如打折的饮品之类的。

And there are usually a lot of drinks on on like, discounted drinks, things like that.

Speaker 1

通常都是特价。

They're usually specials.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

而且,你知道,人们经常和同事或朋友一起去,就是为了,

And, you know, people often go with colleagues or friends just to get,

Speaker 0

比如,下班后快速喝一杯,大概就一个小时。

like, a quick drink after work, probably just for an hour.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

欢乐时光,或者两个小时。

Happy hour or two.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

而且在波士顿,严格来说,我们其实没有欢乐时光。

And here in Boston, we don't have technically, we don't have happy hour.

Speaker 0

这里有种奇怪的清教徒影响,你知道,因为马萨诸塞州有清教徒的根源。

There's, like, this weird Puritan influence here in Boston, you know, because of the Puritanical roots in Massachusetts.

Speaker 0

酒吧提供严格意义上的欢乐时光是不合法的,但他们可能还是会说他们有欢乐时光,只是饮料没有折扣。

And it's not legal for bars to offer technically a happy hour, but they still might say they have happy hour, but there's no discount on the drinks.

Speaker 0

通常,饮料是有折扣的。

Normally, there's a discount on the drinks.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

在纽约,那些时段饮料会更便宜。

In New York, the drinks are cheaper during those hours.

Speaker 0

欢乐

Happy

Speaker 1

时光。

hour.

Speaker 1

哇。

Wow.

Speaker 1

这个我还真不知道。

That is I did not know that.

Speaker 0

所以没有,对,这挺有意思的。

There's no so, yeah, that's interesting.

Speaker 0

所以这里值得思考一下。

So food for thought here.

Speaker 0

那么,米歇尔,好了。

So, Michelle, alright.

Speaker 0

假设我们和同事一起走进这家酒吧。

So let's say we walk into this bar with our with our work group.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

我们经常下班后过来,我觉得这是增进感情的好办法。

We come often people come from work, and I that's always a fun thing to do to build that connection.

Speaker 0

我们去酒吧点单的时候,一般会说些什么呢?

What are some things that, you know, we would say when we go up to the bar and we wanna order?

Speaker 0

我们怎么点酒?

How do we order a drink?

Speaker 0

具体怎么做?

How do we do it?

Speaker 1

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

一种说法就是,嘿。

So one way you could say is, hey.

Speaker 1

能给我来一杯Smutty Nose IPA吗?

Can I get a Smutty Nose IPA?

Speaker 0

那是我最喜欢的啤酒之一。

That's one of my favorite beers.

Speaker 0

那是新罕布什尔州产的IPA,很好喝。

It's a New Hampshire beer IPA, and it's good.

Speaker 0

所以那只是一个例子。

So that's just an example.

Speaker 0

但那个说法就是,嘿。

But the phrase is, hey.

Speaker 0

我能来一杯什么吗?

Can I get a something?

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

嘿,我能来一杯葡萄酒吗?

Hey, can I get a glass of wine?

Speaker 0

所以这挺随意的,对吧,米歇尔?

So that's quite casual, isn't it, Michelle?

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

非常随意。

Quite casual.

Speaker 0

另一个说法是,来杯马提尼,对吧?

Another one is all have martini or Right.

Speaker 0

曼哈顿。

Manhattan.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

来一杯曼哈顿。

All have a Manhattan.

Speaker 1

我觉得那个稍微正式一点。

That one's a little bit more formal, I think.

Speaker 1

第一个更像是走到吧台前,说‘嘿’那种。

The first one is more like going up to the bar, like, hey.

Speaker 1

能给我来一杯,你懂的?

Can I get a you know?

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

这更像是那种非常随意的场合。

It's more of a, like, a a very informal kind of situation.

Speaker 0

下一个也是比较随意的。

And the next one is kind of informal also.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

所以你可以说,我来一杯马尔贝克。

So you could say, I'll get a glass of Malbec.

Speaker 0

也非常随意。

Also very informal.

Speaker 0

然后另一个说法是,能给我来一杯……

And and then another phrase is could I have a.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

我能来一杯大都会吗?

Could I have a cosmopolitan?

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

我能来一杯草莓代基里吗?

Could I have a strawberry daiquiri?

Speaker 0

随便什么都可以。

Whatever it is.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

这些都挺好的。

Those are all good.

Speaker 0

你有没有觉得说英语之后特别累?

Have you ever felt exhausted after speaking English?

Speaker 0

不是因为对话很难,而是因为你的大脑在超负荷运转,一边翻译,一边检查语法,一边找词,但真正的流利其实感觉更轻松。

Not because the conversation was difficult, but because your brain was working overtime to translate, checking grammar, searching for vocabulary, but true fluency actually feels lighter.

Speaker 0

你花在思考英语上的时间更少,更多的时间用来和人交流。

You spend less time thinking about English and more time connecting with people.

Speaker 0

那些都很好。

Those are all good.

Speaker 0

那么下一个技巧,Michelle,就是给不给小费,或者给多少小费的问题。

So the next skill, Michelle, is to tip or not to tip or how much to tip.

Speaker 0

好问题。

Good question.

Speaker 0

你知道吗?

You know?

Speaker 0

我的意思是,你去酒吧的时候通常会给多少小费?

I mean, what do you normally leave for tip when you go to the to the bar?

Speaker 1

我觉得,嗯,我以前当过服务员,我在节目里也说过,我觉得给20%左右就挺好的。

I would say well, I was a waitress as I've talked about on the show, and I would say about 20% is good.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

20%甚至更多,但这要求有点高。

20% or even more, but it's asking a lot of people.

Speaker 1

这要看情况。

It depends.

Speaker 1

通常,在节假日期间。

Usually, you're on the holiday season.

Speaker 1

我觉得人们会给更多小费。

I think people tip more.

Speaker 0

这挺难的。

It's tough.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,在酒吧里,这很难,因为你得来回跑吧台。

I mean, when you're in a bar situation, it's hard because you're going back and forth to the bar.

Speaker 0

如果你不止喝一杯,那就更麻烦了。

If you're getting more than one drink, it's tricky.

Speaker 0

但通常,我的做法是,除了酒钱,再往吧台上放一两美元。

But usually, what I do is I just throw down a dollar or $2 on the bar in addition to my drink.

Speaker 1

而且我知道,如果你坐在桌边,有服务员服务的话

And the I know if you're sitting at a table and if you have waitress service

Speaker 0

而且

And

Speaker 1

那你去吧台点酒的话,那个服务员会不高兴的。

then you go to the bar, oh, you'll make that waitress mad.

Speaker 0

对,她会生气,因为她就拿不到小费了。

Oh, she'll be mad because she'll miss out on the tip.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yep.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yep.

Speaker 0

确实是这样。

That's true.

Speaker 0

有时候挺让人困惑的,因为你走进餐厅,不知道应该去哪儿。

Sometimes it's confusing because you walk into a restaurant, they don't you don't know where to go.

Speaker 0

比如说,我该去酒吧台那边吗?

Like, should I go up to the bar?

Speaker 0

还是应该坐在桌子边等着服务员来?

Should I stay and get served at my table?

Speaker 0

天哪,餐厅里的那些规矩真是麻烦。

And, oh god, the politics of restaurants.

Speaker 1

确实挺难办的。

It is tricky.

Speaker 1

是啊。

It is.

Speaker 1

然后通常人们会在等的时候从吧台拿点东西,结果服务员就会说,不行。

And then usually people just get something from the bar while while they're waiting, and the waitress is like, no.

Speaker 0

不行。

No.

Speaker 0

确实挺麻烦的。

It's tricky.

Speaker 0

我觉得,你在餐厅工作过,所以你的看法很有见地。

I mean, you have a great perspective having worked at a restaurant before.

Speaker 0

所以重点是,饮料也要给20%的小费,不只是食物。

And so the point is tip 20% on the drink, not just on food.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

饮料也要算。

That's also on drinks.

Speaker 0

所以调酒师也需要给小费。

So the bartender needs to be tipped.

Speaker 0

而且,米歇尔,这个话题非常重要。

And how and very important topic, Michelle.

Speaker 0

现在是假期。

It's the holidays.

Speaker 0

我们有些听众住在美国或其他英语国家,我们想确保大家离开酒吧时注意安全。

Some of our listeners are living here in The States or in other English speaking countries, and we wanna make sure we stay safe when we're leaving the bar.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

这很重要。

That's huge.

Speaker 0

所以这意味着,如果我们喝多了,显然不应该开车。

So that means we don't wanna get in a car if we've been drinking too much, obviously.

Speaker 0

我觉得,是的。

I think that Yeah.

Speaker 0

我希望这是不言而喻的。

That goes without saying, I hope.

Speaker 0

我是说,很明显。

I mean, clearly.

Speaker 0

我们希望听众们注意安全。

We wanna have our listeners stay safe.

Speaker 0

那么,如果我们身边有人看起来喝了很多酒,有哪些话可以说呢?

So what are some of the phrases if we're with someone who looks like they've been drinking a lot?

Speaker 0

我们可以对他们说什么,确保他们不会开车?

What could we say to them to make sure they don't get in a car?

Speaker 1

嗯,你可以对他们说,你开车没问题吗?

Well, you could say to them, are you okay to drive?

Speaker 0

对。

Yep.

Speaker 0

或者,对。

Or Right.

Speaker 0

要我帮你叫辆出租车吗?

Can I call you a cab?

Speaker 1

或者你可以直接说,我帮你叫辆出租车吧。

Or you could just say, let me call you a cab.

Speaker 1

只需要几分钟。

It'll only take a few minutes.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

或者我能送你回家吗?

Or can I offer you a ride home?

Speaker 0

现在,米歇尔,幸运的是,我们有优步,这很棒。

And now, Michelle, luckily, we have Uber, which is great.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,在纽约,你们不用担心这个,因为有地铁。

I mean, in New York, you guys don't have to worry about this because you have the subway.

Speaker 0

波士顿这里也一样。

And same in Boston here.

Speaker 0

但在全国其他地方,你知道,人们得担心开车的问题,我们真的得小心。

But any everywhere else in the country, you know, people have to worry about driving, and we gotta be really careful about that.

Speaker 0

这是个很严肃的话题。

That's a really serious topic.

Speaker 0

而且我们得有合适的语言去接近别人,帮助他们。

And we have to have the language to be able to approach someone to help them out.

Speaker 1

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

而且有时候你可能还得坚持一下。

And sometimes you might even need to insist.

Speaker 1

因为如果你问,你开车没问题吧?

Because if you say, are you okay to drive?

Speaker 1

有些人可能会说,没问题。

Somebody might say, yeah.

Speaker 1

我没事。

I'm fine.

Speaker 1

我知道。

I know.

Speaker 1

我知道。

I know.

Speaker 1

但其实他们真的不行。

They're really not.

Speaker 1

所以,真的,真的要小心。

So, you know, really, really be careful.

Speaker 1

如果必须坚持,那就坚持吧。

If you have to insist, you have to insist.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 0

这让我想起我高中的时候。

It reminds me of when I was in high school.

Speaker 0

确实有这么一个情况。

There was a situate yes.

Speaker 0

高中时,有一次我去参加派对,我一个朋友喝得太多了。

In high school, there was a situation where I'd gone to a party, and a friend of mine had had too much to drink.

Speaker 0

然后我另一个朋友,那个打橄榄球的,他硬是把她从车里拽了出来。

And my other friend, this football guy, this football player, this guy had to literally rip her out of the car.

Speaker 0

她当时都准备开车回家了。

She was ready to drive home.

Speaker 0

就是已经坐在驾驶座上,发动车子了。

Like, was behind the wheel starting her car.

Speaker 0

他得过去抓住她,把她从车里拉出来。

He had to go and grab her, like, pull her out of the car.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 0

太紧张了。

So intense.

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1

我在酒吧和餐厅工作的时候,你知道,我们经常会遇到喝多的人,而且我们总是,你知道,得小心点。

When I worked at at the bar at the restaurant, you know, we would have a lot of people who had had too much to drink, and we we always you know, you have to be careful.

Speaker 1

而且作为服务员,你知道,你得特别小心,不能给客人倒太多酒。

And also as the as, you know, someone serving, you know, you have to be really careful that you don't serve somebody too much.

Speaker 1

这有点,我是说,责任重大。

It's a little I mean, it's a huge responsibility.

Speaker 0

很多酒吧在这方面都有一些规定。

A lot of the bars have some rules around that.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

比如说,你们酒吧有没有什么具体的标准操作流程,规定一个小时之内能卖给一个人多少杯酒?还是说就是你自己看着办?

Like, what is did your bar have any specific kind of standard operating procedures around how many drinks you can serve in an hour to one person, or was it just kind of you figure it out as you go along?

Speaker 1

我不记得了,具体的规定我记不太清了。

I don't remember, but I I don't remember specific things.

Speaker 1

但我知道你可以自己决定,比如说,如果觉得这个人喝得差不多了,你就可以说,好了,你不能再喝了。

But I do know that you could, you know, kinda make the decision, like, you know, you're you would say if the person is done drinking, you say, oh, you're cut off.

Speaker 0

对,就是那个。

It's Yeah.

Speaker 0

你不能再喝了。

You're cut off.

Speaker 0

就是那个说法。

That's the expression.

Speaker 1

你不能再喝了。

You're cut off.

Speaker 1

你喝完了。

You're done.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

所以,各位,

So, guys,

Speaker 1

我不太记得具体规则了,但我知道我们得留意这个。

don't don't remember the rules, but I remember we had to watch out for it.

Speaker 0

你得留意

You gotta watch

Speaker 1

那里确实有些规则。

there for were some I'm rules.

Speaker 1

我不太清楚。

I don't know.

Speaker 0

我在想,作为调酒师,如果出了什么事,你会不会要负法律责任,或者酒吧会不会被起诉。

And I wonder if you, as the bartender, could be legally in trouble if something happened or if the bar could be sued.

Speaker 0

如果有人喝多了,开车出去,结果出车祸死了,或者撞死了别人,那酒吧肯定得买很多保险。

If someone were to to drink too much and go out and drive and get killed or kill someone in the car, if the bar I bet I bet the bars have to take out a lot of insurance.

Speaker 0

我会问我哥哥,因为他真的开了一家酒吧。

I'll ask my brother because he actually owns a bar.

Speaker 0

我得问问他这件事。

I'll have to ask him about that.

Speaker 0

这挺有意思的。

That's interesting.

Speaker 0

好了,就这样吧。

So anyways alright.

Speaker 0

米歇尔,我们又要跑题了。

So we're coming up on another tangent here, Michelle.

Speaker 0

但还有一件事,还有一个情况。

But one more thing, one more situation.

Speaker 0

我们要往回说。

We're gonna go backwards.

Speaker 0

我知道我们刚才聊到离开酒吧的事。

I know we've just talked about leaving the bar.

Speaker 0

我们回到刚才说的,怎么表达你想帮别人付酒钱。

Let's go back to how do you say that you wanna pay for someone's drinks.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

如果你想帮别人付酒钱,你会怎么说?

What would you say to someone if you wanna pay for their drinks?

Speaker 0

你和一个人一起喝酒,你想付钱。

You're having drinks with one person and you wanna pay.

Speaker 1

或者甚至和不止一个人。

Or even with more than one person.

Speaker 1

你可以说,这轮我来付。

You could say, I'll get this round.

Speaker 0

这轮我来付,或者让我来付这轮。

I'll get this round or let me get this one.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

通常一轮酒可能不止一个人。

Often a round could be with more than one person.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

你得小心点,因为你不清楚有多少人会参与这一轮。

And you gotta be careful there cause you don't know how many people are going in on the round.

Speaker 1

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

问题就在这,有时候我听到有人说“我来请这一轮”,我心里就想,哎呀,别啊。

That's the thing is sometimes when I hear somebody say, I'll get this round, I'm like, oh, no.

Speaker 1

我本来只想喝一杯的。

I was only gonna have one drink.

Speaker 1

你懂吧?

You know?

Speaker 0

然后你会觉得自己得再喝一杯,并且下一轮还得自己掏钱请所有人。

And then you feel like you have to get another drink and pay for everyone yourself for the next drink.

Speaker 1

所以别逼任何人,你知道的,要确保每个人都愿意,可能不止喝一杯。

So don't pressure anybody to to be you know, make sure that everybody's in it for, you know, probably more than one drink.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

然后接下来你可以说,这轮我来。

And so then the next one you could say is, let me get this one.

Speaker 0

下一轮你来。

You can get the next.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

所以,是的,酒吧里的那些门道又来了。

So, yeah, the politics again of the bar.

Speaker 0

不过,我们回头再聊这个,各位。

But, so we'll come back to this again, guys.

Speaker 0

但希望这些建议能帮到你,在即将到来的假期里,参加欢乐时光和节日聚会时,和同事、朋友们相处时能用得上。

But hopefully, that gives you some hints that you can use as you're going into this holiday season, going to happy hours and holiday parties with your stat with your your colleagues and your friends.

Speaker 0

所以,各位,如果有任何问题,请告诉我们。

So, guys, let us know if you have any questions.

Michelle, let's wrap it up for today, but thanks for hanging out.

Speaker 1

谢谢。

Thank you.

Speaker 1

大家注意安全。

Everybody stay safe.

Speaker 0

好的。

Alright.

Speaker 0

回头聊,Michelle。

Talk to you soon, Michelle.

Speaker 0

当然。

Absolutely.

Speaker 1

再见,Lindsay。

Bye, Lindsay.

Speaker 0

再见。

Bye.

Speaker 0

再见。

Bye.

Speaker 2

Michelle,我喜欢那些点饮料的短语。

Michelle, I love the phrases for ordering a drink.

Speaker 2

太微妙了。

It's so subtle.

Speaker 2

但是说“嘿”。

But saying, hey.

Speaker 2

能给我来杯苹果酒吗?

Can I get a cider?

Speaker 2

或者,嘿,能给我来杯你们现打的苹果酒吗?

Or hey can I get the cider you have on tap?

Speaker 2

这样比说“我要一杯苹果酒”要随意自然得多。

Is so much more casual and natural than I'll have a cider.

Speaker 1

有意思。

Interesting.

Speaker 1

天哪。

My gosh.

Speaker 1

对。

Yes.

Speaker 1

而且知道怎么说买单也很关键。

And knowing what to say to pick up the bill is also so key.

Speaker 1

所以我最喜欢的一句是“这顿我请”。

So my favorite one is this one's on me.

Speaker 1

因为如果大多数人,如果好几个人刚点了饮料,你这么说并递上你的卡,那就意味着你要请全场喝一轮。

Because if most people if multiple people have just ordered a drink and you say this and hand your card, it's implied that you are buying the entire round.

Speaker 1

但如果只有一个朋友刚点了饮料呢?

But what about if one friend just ordered a drink?

Speaker 2

对,那意思就是你只给他买那一杯,对吧?

Yeah, then that would mean you're buying just that one drink for them, right?

Speaker 2

知道不同说法背后的含义真的很重要,对吧?

It's so important to know what is implied depending on the phrases that you use, right?

Speaker 2

今年夏天要社交,要懂的东西真的太多了。

And there's just so much to know when it comes to being social this summer.

Speaker 2

所以我们很高兴能给你带来这期超棒的节目,里面全是这些在欢乐时光派对上用得上的好表达。

So we are so glad that we were able to bring you this awesome episode with all of these great phrases for being successful at a happy hour.

Speaker 1

哦,那当然。

Oh, definitely.

Speaker 1

但是朋友们,记得关注我们,别错过这个系列的最后一期。

But guys, make sure that you hit follow for the final installment of this series.

Speaker 1

所以在第三部分,我们带来的这期节目里,有一些你可以用来问同事欢乐时光或其他社交活动过得怎么样的短语。

So in part three, we are bringing you an episode with phrases that you can use to ask a coworker how a happy hour or other social event went.

Speaker 1

所以大家,千万不要错过,我们下期节目见。

So guys, you don't want to miss this and we will see you at the next episode of the series.

Speaker 2

是的,那太好了,因为那真的是个很棒的话题。

Yes, that is so great because you do, that's such a great conversation topic.

Speaker 2

如果你知道某人去了欢乐时光或者某种社交活动,想问问他们情况。

If you know someone went to a happy hour or went to some kind of social event, want to ask them about it.

Speaker 2

所以米歇尔,我们到时候见。

So Michelle, I will see you there.

Speaker 2

非常期待那期节目。

Very excited for that episode.

Speaker 1

好的,奥布里。

All right, Aubrey.

Speaker 1

回头见。

See you soon.
