平常的一天。
Typical day.
平常的一天。
Typical day.
那今天呢,你知道,这期节目我们要回答一个听众的问题。
And today, you know, what's on tap for the episode is we're gonna answer a listener question.
是的。
Yes.
这是一个
This is a
关于工作和相关短语的绝佳话题。
great phrase for work and related phrases, on tap.
那我今天就先来读一下我们的问题。
So I'll go ahead and read our question today.
大家好,All Ears English团队。
Hi, All Ears English team.
我是Sofia。
I'm Sofia.
我很喜欢你们的播客。
I love your podcast.
这可能是索菲亚发来的其他问题。
This probably might be Sofia who has sent other questions.
谢谢你,索菲亚,感谢你提出的所有精彩问题。
Thank you, Sofia, for all your amazing questions.
我在想,是不是有时候还有别的索菲亚,而我们却把所有功劳都归给了其中一个人。
I wonder I've wondered sometimes if there are other Sofia's, though, and we're, like, giving one all the credit.
也许有好几个索菲亚呢。
Maybe there are multiple Sofia's.
那真的挺有意思的。
That's really funny.
如果真是那样的话,我很抱歉。
I'm so sorry if that's
如果是这样,我们向你道歉,并感谢所有可能发来问题的索菲亚们。
the If so, we apologize and thank you to all the Sofia's who might be sending in questions.
所以他们在2026年2月24日的商务英语节目里说,你说‘好’。
So they said, in the Business English episode from 02/24/2026, you said, good.
今天这期节目有什么内容?
What's on tap for today's episode?
我不太清楚‘on tap’是什么意思,也很好奇在日常英语中什么时候用它比较自然。
I wasn't sure what on tap meant and was curious when it's natural to use it in everyday English.
听你们的播客真的帮了我很多。
Listening to your podcast has really helped me improve a lot.
我特别喜欢里面的节奏和角色扮演环节。
I especially love the rhythm and the role plays.
这让学习变得特别有趣。
They make learning so fun.
非常感谢你们付出的所有努力。
Thank you so much for all your effort.
你是最棒的Sofia。
Best Sofia.
谢谢你的精彩提问。
Thank you for this amazing question.
我很喜欢这个提问,因为在我们商务英语播客里,我们经常在工作中用这个词来讨论接下来有什么安排。
And I love this for the Business English Podcast here because we especially use this at work to talk about what's on tap.
对。
Yeah.
这真的很棒。
This is really good.
所以大家记得在收听商务英语播客的地方点关注,这样就不会错过我们的任何内容。
So guys make sure you hit follow wherever you're listening to the Business English Podcast so you never miss anything from us.
那么,Aubrey,on tap是什么意思呢?
So, Aubrey, what does on tap mean?
是的,on tap指的是计划好的或预计很快会发生的事情。
Yeah, on tap means something that is planned or expected to happen soon.
有意思的是,这个词其实来自酒吧或酒馆,像啤酒或苹果酒这样的饮料直接从龙头里倒出来,也叫生啤。
So it's interesting this actually comes from bars or pubs where drinks like beer or cider come directly from a tap, also called a draft.
所以,我一直对draft这个词感到困惑,因为在美国我们拼写为D R A F T,但在英式英语中,拼写是D R A U G H T。
Which it's so I've always been confused by the word draft because in The States we spell this D R A F T, but in British English, it's spelled D R A U G H T.
我看到那个词的时候,心里就想,我不明白。
I would see that word, I'm like, I don't understand.
只是美式英语和英式英语的拼写不同而已。
It's just spelled differently in American and British English.
对。
Yeah.
它们总是读作draft。
They're always pronounced draft.
是的。
Yes.
是的。
Yes.
没错。
Exactly.
所以,是的,可以上菜了。
So, yeah, it's ready to be served.
马上就要开始了。
It's ready to happen.
但在工作中,我们也会用到它。
But at work, we use it in in it.
我们说的不是酒。
We're not talking about alcohol.
我们说的是,你知道的,日程安排、计划,或者接下来要发生的事。
We're talking about, you know, what's scheduled, what's planned, or coming up next.
而且这真的很随意、很日常。
And this is just really informal and casual.
我也觉得,在工作会议或日常交流中,用这种随意的语气更好。
I also think it's better for casual conversations in work meetings or interactions.
那你会不会觉得,它主要用于书面交流呢?
It's it's just it's would you say that it's used in written communication?
不会,我真的很同意。
No, I really agree.
就算在开会时,我也不会说'what's on tap'来表示下一个议程项目。
Even in a meeting, I would not say what's on tap to mean like what's the next agenda item.
我会说'接下来是什么?'
I would say what's up next?
我们接下来要讲什么?
What are we covering next?
对吧?
Right?
这太口语化了。
This is very informal.
所以它不太可能出现在会议、演示或任何书面材料里,更多是用于对话,但我们在工作中有很多对话会问接下来要做什么。
So it's unlikely to be in a meeting, a presentation or in any written It's more for conversations, but the kinds of conversations we have at work a lot to ask what's coming next?
接下来是什么?
What's on time?
对。
Right.
是的,这挺有意思的。
Yeah, it's interesting.
你可能会用它来聊会议,但不一定会在会议本身里用,特别是在比较正式的场合。
You might use it to talk about the meeting but you won't necessarily use it in the meeting with like the more
对,正式场合下,我可以在会议开始前跟你说这个。
Yes, formal could imagine saying this to you before a meeting starts.
如果你是会议主持,问议程,今天有什么安排?
If you're running it, asking about the agenda, what's on tap for today?
你会怎么回答呢?
And what might you say?
嗯,我可能会说,哦,我们有一个团队会议和一个客户演示。
Yeah, I might say, oh, well we have a team meeting and a client presentation.
所以我其实是在问议程是什么。
So I'm kind of asking like, what's the agenda?
安排了什么?
What's scheduled?
计划了什么?
What's planned?
然后你会分享这些。
And then you would share that.
但在会议进行中,我不会问“今天有什么安排?”
But then during the meeting, I wouldn't be like, what's on tap?
来问接下来要讨论什么。
To ask what we're covering next.
对,对,这真的很有意思。
Yeah, yeah, that's really interesting.
所以,我们来谈谈会议吧,如果我可以问“会议有什么安排?”
So yeah, let's talk about for meetings, if I could say, oh, well what's on tap for the meeting?
是的,而且
Yeah, and
我可能会说,我们先看一下销售数据,然后讨论营销计划。
I might say first we'll review the sales numbers, then discuss the marketing plan.
这肯定是开会前的闲聊,比较随意的那种。
This would definitely be like the conversation before a meeting when it's more informal casual.
你甚至可能会问同事周末做了什么。
You might even ask a coworker what they did this weekend.
你在等会议开始,如果一个人知道议程,安排了会议,说“今天有什么安排?”是很正常的。
You're waiting for a meeting to start and this would be very normal if one person knows the agenda, has planned the meeting to say what's on tap today?
对。
Yeah.
对。
Yeah.
没错。
Exactly.
或者这对即将开展的项目也很有用。
Or this could be really good for upcoming projects.
对吧?
Right?
那下个季度有什么计划?
So what's on tap for next quarter?
嗯。
Mhmm.
我可能会说,我们要推出两款新产品。
And I might say, we're launching two new products.
很多英语学习者都注重语法。
Many English learners focus on grammar.
他们希望自己的句子是正确的,但流利不仅仅是正确。
They want their sentences to be correct, but fluency isn't just about being correct.
流利还意味着听起来自然,选对表达方式,不用在脑子里逐句翻译就能快速回应。
It's about sounding natural, choosing the right phrase, responding quickly without translating every thought in your head.
这就是为什么有些人语法规则学了很多,但在对话中还是觉得不自在。
That's why someone can know a lot of grammar rules and still feel uncomfortable in conversations.
真正的流利来自于理解模式、语调和自然的表达。
Real fluency comes from understanding patterns, tone, and natural expressions.
我们免费的“两分钟流利度测试”能帮你了解自己的水平,以及哪些技能能让你进步。

好的,Michelle,我们来分享一些类似的短语吧。
All right, let's share some similar phrases Michelle.
在工作中,我们有很多种说法。
There are a lot of ways that we say this at work.
首先,是“coming up”。
So first of all, coming up.
意思是即将发生或接下来要发生的事情。
Something that will happen soon or next.
对,没错。
Yeah, exactly.
那好,我们来做个角色扮演怎么样?
So all right, should we do a little role play?
当然可以。
Sure.
演示之后接下来有什么安排?
What's coming up after the presentation?
哦,我们要见一个客户,讨论一下反馈意见。
Oh, well we're meeting with a client to discuss feedback.
或者我说,下个月我们有一个大型产品发布会。
Or if I say we have a big product launch coming up next month.
哦,那真让人兴奋,对吧?
Oh, that's exciting, right?
是的,所以这个表达比较正式一些。
Yeah, so this is less informal.
我会在开会的时候这么说,对吧?
I would say this during a meeting, right?
你知道的,接下来要做什么?
You know, what's coming up next?
没那么口语化。
Not so conversational.
对,没错。
Yeah, exactly.
或者可以说,还有别的事情在筹备中。
Or another thing is in the works.
也就是说,某件事目前正在计划或开发中。
So that is something that is currently being planned or developed.
比如,有没有什么新的营销点子?
So for example, are there any new marketing ideas?
有。
Yes.
我们正在筹备一个新的营销活动。
We have a new campaign in the works.
是的。
Yeah.
对。
Yeah.
所以你正在做这件事。
So you are working on it.
没错。
Exactly.
或者,我们有没有新的合作伙伴?
Or Or do we have any new partnerships?
我们其实有几个合作项目正在进行中。
We actually have a few collaborations in the works.
很好。
Nice.
对。
Yeah.
这是一种很随意的说法,但在工作中很常见。
So this is a very casual way to say this, but it's very common at work.
比起更正式的说法,比如“我们正在做这个”、“有这些事在进行中”,我们经常说“in the works”,意思就是,你知道的,任何计划中的事情。
Instead of the more formal options like we are working on this, there are these things going on, we'll often say in the works to just mean, you know, whatever is planned.
对。
Yeah.
下一个是“on deck”,意思是很快会发生或者接下来要做的事情。
And then the next one is on deck, which means something that will happen very soon or is next in line.
这个说法来自棒球。
This comes from baseball.
是的。
Yes.
没错。
Right.
击球手
The batter
在准备区的那位就是接下来要击球的。
on deck is the one that's going to bat.
接下来上场。
Coming up next.
对。
Yep.
他在准备区。
He's on deck.
他在准备区。
He's on deck.
是的。
Yeah.
我知道这个,因为我儿子现在在打少年棒球联赛,所以总是会说,哦,你看。
I know this because, yeah, now I my son is playing in little league, so it's always like, oh, look.
他马上要上场了。
He's on deck.
对吧?
Right?
他正在热身挥棒,我们特别兴奋。
He's like warming up his swing and we're so excited Yes.
看到他,他可是最棒的。
To see him He's the best.
好,那比如说,销售团队之后是谁上场?
Alright so for example, who is presenting after the sales team?
市场总监正在准备上场。
The marketing director is on deck.
对,我们的意思就是他们接下来要上场了。
Yeah, so we mean they are coming up next.
是的。
Yes.
或者下周有什么项目要上?
Or what project is on deck for next week?
哦,网站改版。
Oh the website redesign.
对,所以这个
Yeah, so this
意思就是接下来要发生的事。
means it's coming up next.
虽然这个词来自棒球,但用起来很随意,我们在工作中经常用,不会太正式。
Even though this is from baseball, it's quite casual, we use it at work all the time, it's not overly formal.
对,或者说不会太不正式。
Right, Or overly informal rather.
好,那我们再教一个。
Yeah, alright let's teach one more.
这个也特别好。
This is another really good one.
所以,in the pipeline,pipeline,好的,这个就是说某件事正在开发中,通常是在幕后进行,而且很可能会在未来发生。
So in the pipeline, pipeline, okay so this is that something is being developed, usually behind the scenes and will probably happen in the future.
比如说,有没有计划推出新产品?
So for example, are there any new products planned?
有的,我们有两个新产品正在筹备中。
Yes, we have two new products in the pipeline.
或者,有没有计划对应用进行改进?
Or are there any improvements planned for the app?
哦,有的,我们有几个更新正在准备中。
Oh yes, we have several updates in the pipeline.
这些更新应该能解决我们目前的一些问题。
They should smooth out our current bugs.
对,这个和on deck的意思一样,
Yes, this means the same as on deck,
就是正在进行中。
in the works.
意思是正在计划中,刚开始启动,对吧?
It means it's being planned, it's getting started, right?
这些都是我们在工作中常用的说法。
These are all ways to say it that we use often at work.
它们都不是特别不正式。
None of them are overly informal.
它们真的适合任何场合。
They're really perfect for any situation.
对,对,太喜欢了。
Yeah, yeah, love it.
我们来做个
Let's do a
角色扮演,用一下这些说法。
role play and use a few of these.
你和我在这里是同事,我们刚开始每周的团队会议。
You and I are work colleagues here and we just started our weekly team meeting.
我先来。
I'll start us out.
好的。
Okay.
米歇尔,这周团队的重点工作是什么?
Hey Michelle, what's on top for the team this week?
嗯,明天有个季度会议要开。
Well, we have the quarterly meeting coming up tomorrow.
哦,对。
Oh that's right.
我想确认一下
I want to make sure
团队目前的进展状况。
I know where the team stands.
有没有什么新项目正在推进?
Do we have any new projects in the works?
是的,我们有一个新的营销活动正在筹备中。
Oh yes, we have a new marketing campaign in the works.
不过我会在明天向大家详细介绍。
But I'll brief everyone on that tomorrow.
好的,期待明天的会议。
Okay, looking forward to it.
那之后还有什么安排?
What's on deck after that?
哦,是网站改版,我们之前简单提过。
Oh, the website redesign, which we've already spoken about briefly.
是的,好吧,听起来这个月我们有很多事情要做。
Yes, well okay, it sounds like we have a lot in the pipeline this month.
确实,接下来会
Definitely, it'll be
是忙碌的几周。
a busy few weeks.
对,而且这个
Yeah, and this
有多个选项真是太棒了,对吧?
is so perfect to have multiple options, right?
如果总是重复同一句话,比如一直说“接下来是”然后“接下来是这个”再“接下来是那个”,那会很糟糕。
It would be terrible to have to repeat the same phrase over and over if you say coming up and then this is coming up and this is coming up.
能有这么多不同的选择真的很好。
It's really great to have multiple options like this.
没错,没错。
Exactly, exactly.
那我们要不要过一遍?
So should we go through it?
好的。
Yes.
从米歇尔开始吧,团队目前最优先的是什么?
Started out with Michelle, what's on top for the team?
那意思是接下来有什么安排?
That means what's coming up?
有什么计划吗?
What's planned?
对。
Yep.
然后我说,明天就要开季度会议了。
And then I said, well we have the quarterly meeting coming up tomorrow.
然后我说,我们有没有什么新项目在进行中?
And then I said, do we have any new projects in the works?
就是那些即将推出的计划。
That means things that are planned coming up soon.
有些可能已经开始了一点,有些可能还没开始。
And they may have been started a little bit or they might not have started at all yet.
光看这句话,你是看不出来的。
It's not you wouldn't know just from this phrase.
对。
True.
然后我重复了你说的。
And then I echoed what you said.
我说我们有一个新的营销活动正在筹备中。
I said we have a new marketing campaign in the works.
明白。
Mhmm.
然后我说那之后有什么安排?
And then I said what's on deck after that?
意思是接下来要做什么?
Meaning like what's coming up next?
是的。
Yes.
然后你说这个月我们好像有很多事情在推进中。
And then you said it sounds like we have a lot in the pipeline this month.
对。
Yeah.
还有一种说法是
And another way to say
就是事情很多。
that is just a lot going on.
意思是说我们有很多计划,很多事在发生,但这是另一种很好的说法。
It means we got a lot planned, a lot happening, but this is another great way
来表达这个意思。
to say that.
有很多事情在筹备中。
A lot in the pipeline.
很喜欢。
Love it.
