Drums weren't very common in those early days, and pythons was a real beauty.

Lizard was so startled, he bolted up a eucalyptus tree overlooking the lake.

I'm not afraid of you, Python.

Python coiled herself around the tree.

Then, using her powerful muscles, she began shimmying up the trunk.

Lizard scrambled away from her, climbing higher and higher until he reached the skinny, spindly branches that hung over the water.
