Speaker 2

好的。

Alright.

Speaker 2

So now we're get into some details.

Speaker 2

So alright.

Speaker 2

So for vending machines.

Speaker 2

Right?

Speaker 2

First question is, how much does a vending machine cost?

Speaker 5

So it could range.

Speaker 5

So, I mean, the cheapest you're gonna find it is always gonna be somewhere around a thousand dollars if you're using a used machine Mhmm.

Speaker 5

Versus if you're coming in with something new, you're looking at about $5.

Speaker 6

$5 for a brand new one.

Speaker 5

Brand, like, brand new top top of the line New type of

Speaker 6

or used.

Speaker 6

I didn't even know that there were new used machines.

Speaker 6

How where do we even get this?

Speaker 6

Like, where am I finding a a new machine?

Speaker 5

Where do go?

Speaker 5

So, I mean, new machines, you could get from, like, the man the manufacturers are actually making a lot like Coke, Pepsi, like those type of, places you you could buy and trade from them.

Speaker 5

Those are where

Speaker 6

the new machines come from.

Speaker 6

And we're talking about actual what I mean, there's different types.

Speaker 6

Are we talking about food vending machines?

Speaker 5

So we're we're talking about sodas, snacks.

Speaker 5

They do have food.

Speaker 5

They have ice cream machines.

Speaker 5

There's a lot of different different types.

Speaker 5

Okay.

Speaker 5

So if you're talking about used machines, which is, you know, I use used machines and that's what I recommend everybody else to use, mainly because it's, easier to maintain and it's a lot more affordable.

Speaker 5

Like the price is nowhere close to, you know, dollars 5,000.

Speaker 5

You can get a used machine for around $900 which is which my first machine was.

Speaker 6

Okay.

Speaker 5

And you can find those on places such as like Craigslist, OfferUp.

Speaker 6

Amazon?

Speaker 5

Letgo

Letgo.

Speaker 5

It might be a little more Amazon.

Speaker 2

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 5

And then the only reason I wouldn't, I would say, not to get it off like a platform where it's like online because I would recommend you checking the machine out first.

Speaker 5

You don't wanna get it and get it in the get it where you, know, you don't know.

Speaker 5

And then it's not working right.

Speaker 5

And then you have to ship it back.

Speaker 5

Like, that's a that's a long process.

Speaker 2

So you said let go?

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

What what's what's that?

Speaker 5

So it's a app.

Speaker 2

It's a app?

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

So LetGo, OfferUp, Facebook Market.

Speaker 5

是的。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

But you it just depends that and another thing is it matters is how are you how are you trying to scale this?

Speaker 5

Do you wanted this to be on some side hustle, passive income stuff, or do you wanna grow it into, like, a full time business?

Speaker 5

Because if you're just doing it as a side hustle, just starting some extra bread on the side, you know, using those resources such as, like, you know, Crest is is fine.

Speaker 5

But if you really wanna do it, like, full time, you wanna find, I call vending warehouses.

Speaker 5

So a vending warehouse is just a vending company that is large enough to sell you vending machines.

Speaker 5

So that's kind of how we make our money on the back end.

Speaker 5

I might have some machines sitting around, and then I'll sell those to anybody who's looking to buy it.

Speaker 2

Where do you find vending warehouses?

Speaker 5

So you would have to Google vending machine companies in your area

Speaker 2

Okay.

Speaker 5

And then contact them and see if they sell

Speaker 2

So it's all, like, regional?

Speaker 2

It's all regional?

Speaker 6

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 6

So after I order, I'm thinking to myself right now, I'm ordering the machine.

Speaker 6

I probably need the location first.

Speaker 6

Right?

Speaker 6

Because they're not gonna send that to your house.

Speaker 6

Right?

Speaker 6

So do they send it to what what happens after I order it?

Speaker 5

So you could you could pick the machine up first, but I I I recommend to people always, always, always get the machine after you have the location for multiple reasons.

Speaker 2

Okay.

Speaker 5

Because if you go out and you get excited, okay.

Speaker 5

I'm going to Vending thing.

Speaker 5

I see a cheap soda machine.

Speaker 5

This is a great deal.

Speaker 5

You buy it.

Speaker 5

Maybe you got it in your garage or something like that.

Speaker 5

对

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

You don't know what type of location you're gonna get first.

Speaker 5

So that means you don't know what that location is gonna need.

Speaker 5

Maybe they already got a soda machine.

Speaker 5

Maybe they need a snack machine.

Speaker 6

And maybe it won't fit.

Speaker 5

没错。

Right.

Speaker 5

And then that's another thing.

Speaker 5

You don't know what, the measurements the are are for for that that space they have to put the machine.

Speaker 5

So it could be the machine you may you you could have maybe too big.

Speaker 5

Maybe it's too big to fit through the doorway.

Speaker 5

Maybe it's too big for the space that they actually want the machine.

Speaker 5

So it's always best to wait until you get that location, you know, on paper, and then you go out and get your machine.

Speaker 5

But on the flip side, you also wanna know your resources first.

Speaker 5

Like, you wanna know where you're getting that machine from prior to, you know, finding your location.

Speaker 2

So, like, what what's some typical are they, like, typical profit margins?

Speaker 2

Like, how much money can should a person expect to make off of, like, one machine?

Speaker 5

So average a good a good location will you'll see around $500 for the a foot per machine.

Speaker 5

Right?

Speaker 5

Most locations have two machines.

Speaker 6

You know

Speaker 5

what I'm saying?

Speaker 5

Unless it's like a combo.

Speaker 5

If most of the time, if you'll find a combo machine is in a smaller in a smaller space because they can't fit two machines or it's because, maybe it's a slower that has slower traffic, lower traffic, and you don't wanna put two machines in there, you know, that type of situation.

Speaker 2

So like a thousand dollars if you have two machines in one location?

Speaker 5

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

That's about that's

Speaker 2

对

about

Speaker 6

right When you had to find locations, you obviously looked at your life.

Speaker 6

You said, look, I played ball here.

Speaker 6

I'm gonna put one here.

Speaker 6

That's my high school.

Speaker 6

That's my barbershop.

Speaker 6

What does the average person have to do in terms of finding locations?

Speaker 5

So step one.

Speaker 5

Now honest with y'all, like, I had experience in, like, different marketing before beforehand.

Speaker 5

So I was already kinda

Speaker 2

Seasoned?

Speaker 5

Seasoned with, networking and and reaching people and calling and all that type of stuff.

Speaker 5

Wholesale.

Speaker 6

Were you doing wholesaling?

Speaker 5

I did do wholesaling.

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

So I I

Speaker 2

used Real estate?

Speaker 5

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

So so I used those same type of tactics to find locations because I it was I learned a lot from actually going out and trying to find properties.

Speaker 2

你知道

You know

Speaker 5

what I'm saying?

Speaker 5

When I was doing the wholesaling thing.

Speaker 5

So the first thing I did was network.

Speaker 5

So I I reached out to everybody around me, all my friends, all my family members, let them know what I was doing.

Speaker 5

And this dude doing that, it led me to having, like, my first few locations.

Speaker 6

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

You know I'm saying?

Speaker 5

So that's how I ended up getting, a school, like I give this name, which is my prior high school.

Speaker 5

I talked to them.

Speaker 5

You know, they they let me, place a vending machine in there, and it led me to, you know, get in a few other spots.

Speaker 2

不是。

No.

Speaker 2

I'm just thinking about it.

Speaker 2

A lot of places that yeah.

Speaker 2

They have two vending machines.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Like a community center, a school.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

You have two vending machines.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Never thought never thought about that before.

Speaker 6

From a I mean

Speaker 2

Or something cut you off.

Speaker 2

You can have two vending machines right next to each other.

Speaker 2

Like one is sodas and drinks.

Speaker 2

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 2

The other one is candies and chips and stuff.

Speaker 5

对

Yeah.

Speaker 5

They're always, like, right next to

Speaker 6

Right next to each other.

Speaker 2

对

Mhmm.

Speaker 2

So that that's not bad.

Speaker 2

If you think about it, like, a thousand dollars, that's like you could be getting rental income.

Speaker 6

Easy.

Speaker 2

But it's a lot less overhead as far as buying a home.

Speaker 6

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 6

That's what that was what I was gonna say.

Speaker 6

Two things.

Speaker 6

Well, first is when these big corporations, like, if I see a Coca Cola machine, right, that's a vending machine.

Speaker 6

Can I purchase that from it?

Speaker 6

Or is the corporation putting that in that location?

Speaker 6

Because you could have two vending machines and then they have all Coke products.

Speaker 6

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 6

Can you purchase that?

Speaker 5

Can you purchase it from who?

Speaker 5

From like Coca Cola.

Speaker 6

Is that like a thing?

Speaker 6

Can you get a vending machine from a

Speaker 5

公司?

corporation?

Speaker 5

You're talking about as far as if the machine is placed somewhere or if that is manufactured on the machines.

Speaker 6

Well, so I'm thinking in terms of, I have my vending machine, you right?

Speaker 6

I have two of them there, and then there's like a Coke machine that sells Is Coke that something that the average person could purchase or is it just straight from a corporation?

Speaker 5

So so alright.

Speaker 5

So Coke does Coke actually places machines themselves.

Speaker 6

Okay.

Speaker 5

So but what they'll do is they don't they they actually just will place the machine, right?

Speaker 5

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

But the the thing is, the person, they they would have to, like, charge a certain amount the, in products.

Speaker 5

So the products once you buy a certain amount of products from from Coke, they'll play they'll you they'll a place of vending machine for free.

Speaker 5

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

So and then they'll service it or or whatever.

Speaker 5

Like, so, if you're talking about, like, that machine is there, most more than likely, your machine won't be there because they'll have type of contract with Coca Cola.

Speaker 6

Else will come in.

Speaker 5

And they're not gonna let nobody else in there.

Speaker 2

So as far as location, because I I know you said that, you had a couple different keys.

Speaker 2

Foot traffic, ice isolation Mhmm.

Speaker 2

Waiting rooms.

Speaker 2

So all of these different things.

Speaker 2

But before you even get to that, how do you approach somebody to put a vending machine in their place?

Speaker 2

Like, alright.

Speaker 2

So you you you see a school.

Speaker 2

Like, what's the process to say, hey.

Speaker 2

Can I put a vending machine here?

Speaker 5

Can I talk to the principal?

Speaker 2

Like, who do Like, how does

Speaker 5

that work?

Speaker 5

So that's that's a good question, man.

Speaker 5

That's a lot of question everybody asks.

Speaker 5

But at all all I really do is I'll approach whoever the receptionist is, that that first point of contact, and I'll ask them who I need to speak to to place a machine here.

Speaker 5

So is it it's usually the person that everybody usually has a person who's in charge of doing business.

Speaker 5

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

So the high school has a, you know, a a business manager.

Speaker 5

I had to talk to them.

Speaker 5

So if you're if I'm going into a motel or something, most of the time they have a business manager, you talk to them.

Speaker 5

So it's just about asking that first point of contact.

Speaker 5

Get you know, obviously, if you could find a manager or something like that, reach who you could reach, and but then ask that person who's the person who's that I have to talk to to actually makes the decision.

Speaker 6

So once you get in the high school or you get into the recreation center, is there a fee that you have to pay for being there?

Speaker 6

Or it's just part of the profit margin you have to give to the the players?

Speaker 6

Like, how's that work?

Speaker 5

So it's all about from my experience, it's all about how you get that plot how you get that spot.

Speaker 2

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

So if you have, you have different resources you're using to get locations.

Speaker 5

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

Right?

Speaker 5

If one thing that you could do is you out you go out yourself and you actually look for locations like, you know, when we talk about the whole set of things, it's called like driving for dollars.

Speaker 5

You heard that

Speaker 2

term before.

Speaker 6

是的

Yep.

Speaker 6

对

Yep.

Speaker 5

That that's a method.

Speaker 5

You go out and drive around.

Speaker 5

I actually found the, laundromat the other day.

Speaker 5

Just driving around.

Speaker 5

I wasn't even looking for it, I just happened to, see it.

Speaker 5

And, actually, I put it on Instagram.

Speaker 5

So I put it on live.

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

This is show people, like, this is, like, you know, how easy it is to find something if you're paying attention to what's around you.

Speaker 6

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

So that's one method.

Speaker 5

And another method is, like, cold calling, which is you just make a list of multiple, places that that may be, suitable for a vending machine in your, area that you're looking to place one Mhmm.

Speaker 5

Like using ZIP codes or whatever, and, you know, and you just call them.

Speaker 5

If you're doing that method, most of the time I found when you found, a location like that, they ask for a commission because you're asking to come into their space and do business.

Speaker 5

Like, you're asking for something from them.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

Right?

Speaker 5

Now on the flip side, you go to website.

Speaker 5

Right?

Speaker 5

The top the most the top the well, the most common thing people do is when they're looking for vending services, if, know, you just opened up your your your store, your business, or whatever it may be, it's Google.

Speaker 5

So they go right to Google, vending machine service in Philadelphia.

Speaker 5

MyJone is, like, one of the top ones on there.

Speaker 5

So you click on that.

Speaker 5

They, they call you.

Speaker 5

They contact you.

Speaker 5

And then they're gonna ask you to place a a vending machine in their place of business.

Speaker 2

Oh, okay.

Speaker 5

So most not to in that scenario, most of time, they don't ask you for a commission because they just want your service.

Speaker 5

They want your service for their customers or for their, employees or for whatever reason.

Speaker 5

It's just like, yo, we just want your service.

Speaker 5

We're not worried about commission.

Speaker 2

So if you approach them, you gotta pay them?

Speaker 2

Most of the time.

Speaker 2

If they approach you, you don't have to pay.

Speaker 5

Most of the time.

Speaker 5

Most of the time that's how that goes.

Speaker 5

Now, it also depends on what type of place it is, you know, because if you're dealing with, like, recreation centers and schools, a lot of times those those facilities are are, like, the prob the funds already.

Speaker 5

So they're always looking for different ways to supplement, you know, some income.

Speaker 5

So they're gonna bring

Speaker 6

that up.

Speaker 2

So what kind of commission is fair?

Speaker 2

Like, if somebody I'll let you put it here, but here's you gotta give me 20%.

Speaker 2

10 like, what's a fair amount that somebody

Speaker 5

A fair amount really depends on the traffic in that location, but it typically is around 10%.

Speaker 2

一成?

10%?

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

10% is

Speaker 5

没错。

like a fair amount most of the time if it's a good location.

Speaker 6

好。

Alright.

Speaker 6

So you sit down, you say, let we can have the vending machine here.

Speaker 6

What we do next?

Speaker 6

Are we drawing up a contract?

Speaker 5

对。

Right.

Speaker 5

So at the point where they give me the person of contact Yeah.

Speaker 5

And they said they they're interested, and they I'll schedule a meeting with them.

Speaker 5

So we'll sit down like we're talking now.

Speaker 5

I'll have a, proposal, which is something I came up with just from doing the meetings, and it's all the information is in the proposal, which just cuts down the meeting time.

Speaker 5

So in there, it's just about your business, a little bit about yourself.

Speaker 5

You wanna put the products that you use, what makes you different than other companies, your price points for your products.

Speaker 5

Just present all that to them.

Speaker 5

And then if if they like that, then I also have the contract there.

Speaker 5

So and if they're good with the contract, you know, we sign it right there, do the deal right there.

Speaker 5

Now sometimes it doesn't go that way.

Speaker 5

Sometimes they might want certain contingencies or whatever in in the contract.

Speaker 5

So if they want that and you you ask you have you know, obviously, you have to go back and draw up a new contract and get them to sign that one.

Speaker 6

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 6

I'm thinking of, like, the school.

Speaker 6

Right?

Speaker 6

Because I'm thinking, like, one of the contingencies they might have is, like, you can't serve, a certain amount of sugar.

Speaker 6

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 6

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 6

Exactly.

Speaker 6

Has to be healthy options.

Speaker 5

Certain products.

Speaker 5

And then it's, like, some people will want your actual service, hours in there or they'll want, like, if basically, like, if if something goes wrong, you have to repair it by this amount of time type of thing.

Speaker 5

Like, so that stuff is usually people usually tweak, but for the most part, they just go by what's on the paper.

Speaker 2

So, okay.

Speaker 2

So as far as, let's go back to location.

Speaker 2

So like you say, you said foot traffic, accessibility, isolation, and waiting rooms.

Speaker 2

Those are like your four golden rules.

Speaker 2

对。

Right?

Speaker 5

Hold on one second, though.

Speaker 5

And then the the for the commission thing, I never bring up commission.

Speaker 5

So never never sit down with a location and say, alright.

Speaker 5

Well, this is the amount that we pay in commission.

Speaker 5

If they don't mention it

Speaker 2

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 6

不对。

No.

Speaker 6

不对。

No.

Speaker 6

Give them money.

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

不对。

No.

Speaker 5

不行。

No.

Speaker 5

不行。

No.

Speaker 5

Because some people think that.

Speaker 5

They they that's like a pitching, like, point is, like, we can pay you this much in commission, blah blah blah.

Speaker 5

Don't mention that.

Speaker 2

Because it's not no.

Speaker 6

That's a good that's a

Speaker 2

good point because, you might automatically assume that you have to pay because you're you're in their space.

Speaker 2

But like you said, it's kind of like an attraction where it's like like my son goes to camp.

Speaker 2

And every time I pick him up, he's like, can you give me something from the vending machine?

Speaker 2

So it's like you know what I'm saying?

Speaker 2

It's like agree.

Speaker 2

The vending machine is actually helping Oh.

Speaker 2

In that situation because it's like people some you might just walk into a space just to use the vending machine.

Speaker 6

对。

Right.

Speaker 6

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 6

So that I'm now I'm thinking about from the business standpoint, having a school during the year is great.

Speaker 6

Having a recreation center during the summer, gold mine.

Speaker 5

没错。

Right.

Speaker 5

That's all kids want.

Speaker 5

Well, no.

Speaker 5

So recreation recreation centers doing the the school year are good too because they have different programs.

Speaker 2

对。

Right.

Speaker 2

没错。

Right.

Speaker 2

没错。

Right.

Speaker 5

And they have basketball games and stuff.

Speaker 5

We got some good recreation.

Speaker 5

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

So alright.

Speaker 2

So location location.

Speaker 2

Location is the most important thing with real estate, period.

Speaker 2

And, I guess this is no different from vending machine either.

Speaker 2

Right?

Speaker 2

You got the best vending you could be giving away gold bars if it's in the desert.

Speaker 2

Doesn't matter.

Speaker 2

So how do you know what's a good low I mean, obviously well, I I wouldn't say obviously.

Speaker 2

How do you know what's a good location or not?

Speaker 5

So, I mean, from what you just basically, what just mentioned, but I I I picked him up as time went on, just noticing different things.

Speaker 5

So when I'm walking into a location, I I go with a checklist.

Speaker 5

I don't really use it anymore because I kinda, like, know now, but it's best to have a checklist and use and this is what you wanna look for.

Speaker 5

So you wanna look for, when you pull up to the space, is there any stores around that building?

Speaker 5

So when I say isolation, that that's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 5

So I'll take a lap or two laps around.

Speaker 5

See, I'm looking for corner stores.

Speaker 5

I'm looking just for other places to eat.

Speaker 5

Alright.

Speaker 5

If if I don't see no other places to eat, I'm like, okay.

Speaker 5

So that's that's a good sign.

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

没错。

Right.

Speaker 5

And then when I walk in the door, I'm looking, in terms of moving, I'm looking for steps and all that type of stuff because you have to move the machine in there.

Speaker 5

When it turns out what makes it a good location, I'm I'm looking to see where the machine will be placed.

Speaker 5

Alright.

Speaker 5

So I'm like, alright.

Speaker 5

Well, is it placed somewhere where it's visible and people could see it?

Speaker 5

Because I had one situation where I had a it was a hotel wanting me to put a machine in there, but they wanted a machine, like, in the in the back, way in the back where nobody would see it.

Speaker 5

And on the flip side, it had a So that's gas station right next door.

Speaker 5

So when I was watching, I'm watching people come in, and they just making a left, turn right off, go right to the gas station.

Speaker 5

Like, no.

Speaker 6

Because the gas station is the place now that they don't get

Speaker 5

the space from.

Speaker 5

They see the gas station because it's right because it was a big glass, you know, door, obviously, and it's right there

Speaker 6

对。

Right.

Speaker 5

Versus if that machine was placed in the lobby.

Speaker 5

They just sort used the machine.

Speaker 5

Then nobody wants to walk all the way over there if you ain't got to.

Speaker 6

Only the night shift.

Speaker 5

没错。

Right.

Speaker 5

So so, you know, that's that's real important.

Speaker 5

As important is is it being visible and it, being accessible to everyone.

Speaker 5

So if everybody can use it, if it's visible, that that's a good sign.

Speaker 5

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 5

Another thing I'm looking for is, hours of operation.

Speaker 5

So how long is this place open?

Speaker 5

Like you said, night shift, some places are open twenty four hours.

Speaker 5

对吧

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

没错

Right?

Speaker 5

That gives you more sales versus it only being open for

Speaker 2

Nine to five.

Speaker 5

Nine to five.

Speaker 5

Like, so that's another that's another important thing.

Speaker 5

Cafeteria closed now.

Speaker 5

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

没错。

Right.

Speaker 5

So, and then probably the last thing I'm looking for is, foot traffic.

Speaker 5

Right?

Speaker 5

Which is one of this is the most important thing.

Speaker 5

You want to see how many employees they got, how many people are visiting this place, how many people are in and out, coming past this machine.

Speaker 5

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

One of the

Speaker 6

things you said, and as you said it, I was like, wow, that's brilliant.

Speaker 6

A place that have ideal time where people are just waiting.

Speaker 6

So obviously, the hospital.

Speaker 6

But when you just said laundry mat, I'm thinking like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 6

对。

Yes.

Speaker 6

It's like people are sitting in there all day watching machines go.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

不是。

No.

Speaker 2

Laundry mats are big.

Speaker 2

Schools are big.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Recreation centers are big.

Speaker 2

Hospitals are big.

Speaker 5

Hospitals are huge.

Speaker 6

I'm thinking that's the number one.

Speaker 2

Office buildings are are big.

Speaker 2

Dorms.

Speaker 2

Dorms.

Speaker 2

Dorms.

Speaker 2

College dorms are big.

Speaker 5

These are Yeah.

Speaker 5

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 5

对

Yeah.

Speaker 2

So To name a few.

Speaker 5

And to give a to give an example, is is Temple.

Speaker 5

We have a Temple dorm.

Speaker 5

Guy I was doing business with.

Speaker 5

That location does around 3,500 month.

Speaker 2

A month?

Speaker 2

How many machine?

Speaker 2

How many machines?

Speaker 6

Two machines.

Speaker 6

两台。

Two.

Speaker 6

You know what?

Speaker 6

I mean, college kids don't have a lot of money, and they don't have transportation.

Speaker 6

So if you put the vending machine

Speaker 2

And that's that's you?

Speaker 2

That's your machines?

Speaker 5

This these those two are mine.

Speaker 5

It's the guy actually, I know we were talking a little

Speaker 2

about the hammer.

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

So another guy one of my first my first mentee

Speaker 2

Okay.

Speaker 5

I helped him find a spot, and that was the spot that we got.

Speaker 2

Damn.

Speaker 2

3,500.

Speaker 2

That's that's good bread.

Speaker 2

没错。

Right.

Speaker 2

Two machines.

Speaker 5

Two two machines.

Speaker 5

3,500.

Speaker 5

And then on top of that, since that building is built the way it built, it could be more machines placed in there.

Speaker 6

And you said there's there's a difference in what I mean, the older machines don't have something that's very important that you said, and that's the card readers.

Speaker 6

Right?

Speaker 6

Because now a lot of people don't have cash, but they do have cards to use.

Speaker 5

So what we do is we'll take the older machines and add upgrades to them.

Speaker 5

So we might change the door.

Speaker 5

We might use, what we call, like, the LED lighting.

Speaker 5

So, you know, the little light strips, put that in the door, makes it a little brighter.

Speaker 5

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

And we can add the card readers, but we would just have to change what what's in there.

Speaker 5

It's called a circuit board.

Speaker 5

Okay.

Speaker 5

Expensive?

Speaker 5

A circuit board costs about $200.

Speaker 5

Car readers are about 400.

Speaker 5

So you're looking at use that is about additional $600.

Speaker 5

But on the flip side, those usually increase your sales by at least 40%.

Speaker 5

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

Like, so, you know, it's worth actually getting those on there if, you know, you plan on doing it on a a serious note.

Speaker 2

So okay.

Speaker 2

So as far as installation, right, how do you know which products to put?

Speaker 2

So you're just buying a a machine, and you could put anything in a machine.

Speaker 5

对。

Correct?

Speaker 5

Anything you want.

Speaker 2

How do you know which products do you do?

Speaker 2

Like, okay.

Speaker 2

I like Doritos.

Speaker 2

So or, like, how do you how do you know, like, which is a good product to put?

Speaker 5

That's a that's a excellent question because my alright.

Speaker 5

So my first location that I got, when I when I said it was only doing only a few a few dollars or whatever, I was putting in there what I

Speaker 2

like.

Speaker 2

You know

Speaker 5

what saying?

Speaker 5

So I had what I like.

Speaker 5

I was talking I'm walking through Sam's Club like, okay.

Speaker 2

This is good.

Speaker 2

不错。

Good.

Speaker 2

This is good.

Speaker 5

But after a while, I was like, no.

Speaker 5

You you have to put in what they want.

Speaker 5

So what I like to do is on my first if I if it's an office building or something like that, I'll use a newsletter.

Speaker 5

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

And I'll send out the newsletter introducing my services, and I'll give them an opportunity to put to tell me what they want in the machine.

Speaker 5

That's like step one.

Speaker 5

Other than that, it really comes down to demographics.

Speaker 5

Like this, you know, certain certain demographics Certain people,

Speaker 6

you know, avocado toast in this?

Speaker 5

Certain certain groups of people like like like certain things.

Speaker 5

So from my experience, I know if I'm dealing with a a mostly, like, Caucasian group, they tend to like more of, like, the plain chips and, like,

Speaker 6

for real.

Speaker 6

They just like no spicy.

Speaker 6

More of the plain chips where, though,

Speaker 5

if I'm dealing with other, it might be more, like, you know, the flavorful barbecue type type of Jones.

Speaker 6

So got

Speaker 5

takis in there?

Speaker 5

Yeah, man.

Speaker 5

It just depends it depends what you like.

Speaker 5

It depends what you like.

Speaker 5

But it's it is definitely best to always let the people tell you what they want.

Speaker 6

And the inventory, you're actually going to get.

Speaker 6

Right?

Speaker 6

So, like, you are going to these warehouses, I'm assuming?

Speaker 5

Are you at the supermarket?

Speaker 5

I go to I go to Sam's Club.

Speaker 5

Okay.

Speaker 5

So I go to most I mostly shop at Sam's Club, but I do have a warehouse that I go to to get products.

Speaker 5

Now the thing with Sam's Club is it's good if you're just doing it, like, small scale.

Speaker 5

But if you're buying, like, variety boxes of chips and whatnot Yeah.

Speaker 5

They're gonna put a few they're gonna put the good chips in there, then they're gonna put, like,

Speaker 6

他们

a They

Speaker 5

always do that.

Speaker 5

Selection in there.

Speaker 5

没错。

And that right.

Speaker 5

And that's the one that's not gonna sell.

Speaker 5

So when you're doing that, you know, on a larger scale, you have to keep buying those boxes and boxes.

Speaker 5

It's like, alright.

Speaker 5

Well, that's not that's that's losing making me lose money.

Speaker 5

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

So when you get to a certain point, you could just cut that out.

Speaker 5

And then if you go find a a a source had to find a source, you could just get the straight fire products, but as you have to buy in a larger quantity.

Speaker 5

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

So that box of Sam's Club comes in a box of, 30 most of the time.

Speaker 5

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 5

Whereas though, I buy that in a larger quantity, I got about 64, a box of 64 all one selection, which is gonna cost you more money because now you have to put that that that variety box is gonna take about four or five rolls because there's different chips in there.

Speaker 5

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

Versus it just being one whole box of one product.

Speaker 5

That's only one roll of product.

Speaker 5

How how often are you changing, the machines?

Speaker 5

Weekly.

Speaker 5

每周?

Weekly?

Speaker 5

每周。

Weekly.

Speaker 6

Okay.

Speaker 6

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

So I mean, if if you're doing it more than more than once a week, you probably need a bigger machine.

Speaker 5

If you're if you're not doing it once a week, you probably need a smaller machine.

Speaker 2

And, like, so how do you know what to charge?

Speaker 2

Because you could charge anything.

Speaker 2

I did I just found that out.

Speaker 2

You can charge anything.

Speaker 6

The prices.

Speaker 5

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

You set you set all your own prices.

Speaker 5

And once again, it just comes down to demographics.

Speaker 5

It comes down to the region, the area you you actually, you know, working in.

Speaker 5

Know

Speaker 7

Earnest, what's up?

Speaker 7

You ever walk into a small business and everything just works?

Speaker 7

Like, the checkout is fast, the receipts are digital, tipping is a breeze, and you're out the door before the line even builds?

Speaker 5

We're over here in New York.

Speaker 5

My candy bars are gonna be about $2.

Speaker 5

Like, but if I'm in Philly over there, it's gonna be about $1.25.

Speaker 5

But the main thing I'm looking at is I'm looking at my internal investment, like my r ROI.

Speaker 5

ROI.

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

So I'm like, if I'm spending x amount, I wanna at least double that.

Speaker 5

So at minimum, I'm doubling what I'm paying for the products.

Speaker 5

Okay.

Speaker 5

But I'm actually well, I always try to reach, like, triple.

Speaker 5

I try to, you know, get the 300% mark of what I'm actually paying back, what I'm actually paying for the product.

Speaker 5

So whatever I'm investing, I'm trying at least.

Speaker 2

So if I buy a candy bar for a dollar, I need to I need to charge $3 in the vending machine.

Speaker 2

Just using that as like an example, a rough example.

Speaker 2

Obviously you're not gonna charge $2 for a candy bar, I'm just

Speaker 6

saying.

Speaker 6

They did that at my job.

Speaker 6

Like I went to the vending machine and the 65¢ bag of chips is now $5.

Speaker 5

Is it really $5?

Speaker 6

I'm gonna say the picture.

Speaker 2

I was like, no, this is a joke.

Speaker 2

Impossible.

Speaker 6

I'm gonna say the picture.

Speaker 6

It was ridiculous.

Speaker 6

I'm like, wait,

Speaker 2

Impossible.

Speaker 6

Yeah.

Speaker 6

I'll send you picture.

Speaker 6

No joke.

Speaker 6

I'm like, is ridiculous.

Speaker 2

What kind chips are you?

Speaker 6

Sal's?

Speaker 6

你有ACOS吗?

You have ACOS?

Speaker 6

No Sal's chips?

Speaker 5

没有。

No.

Speaker 5

What how big is this bag of chips?

Speaker 6

It's the 60 like, the the normal 65¢ bag of chips.

Speaker 2

No.

Speaker 2

It's impossible.

Speaker 5

So it's like the two ounce bag of it's like 1.7 or so.

Speaker 6

I will send you out a picture.

Speaker 2

No.

Speaker 2

It's impossible.

Speaker 2

Ridiculous.

Speaker 5

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 5

That's crazy.

Speaker 5

But they do you know, people do do that.

Speaker 5

I mean, they not not ever seen

Speaker 2

$5.

Speaker 5

I've seen It's

Speaker 2

like an airport.

Speaker 6

That's more expensive.

Speaker 6

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 6

If you get

Speaker 5

a location like airport or, like, the hotels, you could really charge more for those.

Speaker 2

Oh, you get a oh, yeah.

Speaker 2

Vending machines in an airport.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

That's that's where you make money.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Airport prices is just ridiculous just because it's

Speaker 5

not airport.

Speaker 5

For the airport.

Speaker 6

Because now they got the the vending machines that sell electronics

Speaker 5

too.

Speaker 5

So that's that's another thing I wanted to touch on too is, like, you could think outside the box and get creative.

Speaker 5

You could sell anything out of vending machine.

Speaker 5

You could sell electronics.

Speaker 5

Somebody I found online was selling knickknacks out of them in the in the in the airport, and she was making $8,000 year.

Speaker 2

What what's it what what what's a knickknack?

Speaker 5

So, like, the the the stuff that, you know, you might get while you're in that city or whatever, like, little little whatever.

Speaker 2

Like, little truncates and, like, little Like, it was Welcome to LA.

Speaker 2

I I love New York.

Speaker 2

Thanks.

Speaker 5

And stuff like that.

Speaker 5

And she had, like, balled up t shirts in there, like, you know, making making good money, like, thinking outside the box.

Speaker 5

I also see

Speaker 6

It's like the sneaker one.

Speaker 6

Like, nobody ever went one, but you put $2 to try to do it every time.

Speaker 5

对。

Right.

Speaker 5

Like so it's it's a lot of different things you could you could put in there if you could really, like, get creative with it.

Speaker 6

What's the craziest one you've seen?

Speaker 5

Craziest one?

Speaker 5

Uh-uh.

Speaker 2

You have one on your page in Dubai.

Speaker 2

They have gold bars?

Speaker 5

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

I never seen that one, though, but, I've seen that.

Speaker 2

Oh, you got you?

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

It's it's gold bars.

Speaker 2

You could buy you could buy gold

Speaker 5

金条。

bars.

Speaker 5

Right.

Speaker 2

For pieces of gold.

Speaker 5

I don't know why you wanna buy it, but, you know,

Speaker 2

that's It's it's Dubai.

Speaker 2

Everything.

Speaker 6

Let's go to the vending machine and get some gold.

Speaker 6

Yeah.

Speaker 5

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

But, you know, there's a lot of there's a of crazy ones out there, man.

Speaker 5

I've seen some where you they selling water.

Speaker 5

I've seen pizza as a piece I of did.

Speaker 2

There was a new

Speaker 6

there was an article about that.

Speaker 6

They put that on college campuses where it makes a pizza in, like, ninety seconds or something.

Speaker 5

They had a plan d machine on college campus.

Speaker 6

Another college campus.

Speaker 6

Should a plan d machine.

Speaker 6

I'm I'm and

Speaker 5

it and it's actually not for a premiere.

Speaker 2

喂。

Yo.

Speaker 2

That's actually honestly honestly

Speaker 6

Contraception machine.

Speaker 2

不是。

No.

Speaker 2

That's not a bad idea.

Speaker 2

Now that's the contraception machines are not a bad idea.

Speaker 2

You have condoms?

Speaker 6

They used put them in a bathroom.

Speaker 6

Remember you used to put a quarter and then you y'all don't remember?

Speaker 5

I never seen

Speaker 2

Nah.

Speaker 2

I haven't

Speaker 6

seen that.

Speaker 6

School.

Speaker 6

It's a little old school.

Speaker 6

就像你

It's like you

Speaker 2

put a

Speaker 6

quarter and you get a contraception.

Speaker 2

I that wow.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Is that was that even legal to that point?

Speaker 2

Because those well, alright.

Speaker 2

Demeter to me.

Speaker 5

I know

Speaker 6

I know know they got them out there.

Speaker 5

We're gonna be the, like, hair weave and eyelashes.

Speaker 2

So You know what?

Speaker 2

What about medical marijuana?

Speaker 2

Oh, did marijuana, period.

Speaker 5

That too.

Speaker 5

They got those out in California.

Speaker 5

They got the so I'm I'm not exactly sure how those operate because, you know, that's that's regulated, so you need ID and whatnot Yeah.

Speaker 5

Like, security at that machine.

Speaker 5

Probably.

Speaker 2

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 2

对

Yeah.

Speaker 2

没错

Yeah.

Speaker 5

That's a little different.

Speaker 5

But they do have those out there.

Speaker 6

What about vandalism?

Speaker 6

Like, if somebody destroys your machine, does how that work?

Speaker 6

You have insurance on it?

Speaker 6

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 5

I haven't I I I had that happen before, once.

Speaker 5

But yeah.

Speaker 5

So, basically, if somebody destroys it, it messes up.

Speaker 5

You just if you got insurance on it, then you cover it.

Speaker 5

If not, you know

Speaker 6

And you can go through any insurance company, GEICO, State Farm, anything like Liberty?

Speaker 5

I'm not sure if there's any.
