欢迎回到《Eat Your Crust》播客节目。

Welcome back to Eat Your Crust podcast.

Speaker 0

我是Jisoo。

I'm Jisoo.

Speaker 1

我是Crystal。

And I'm Crystal.

Speaker 0

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

今天咱们聊聊职场里大家都爱谈的话题,那就是带薪休假,也就是PTO,以及请休假时那些不成文的规矩。

Today's topic is everybody's favorite thing at work, think, and that is PTO, so paid time off, and all of the unspoken rules that come with taking PTO.

Speaker 0

我觉得表面上看,请带薪休假没什么问题,毕竟是你自己挣来的休息时间,对吧。

I feel like on a surface level, PTO is unproblematic like you're just taking some time off and you've earned it right.

Speaker 0

每次发工资,你都攒下了一些时间,为以后的假期做准备,但请休假时其实有一些奇怪又心照不宣的潜规则,而且你在这家公司待得越久,就越能体会到这些。

Every paycheck you've earned a couple of hours to put towards your future vacations but there's some like weird silent unspoken rules that come with taking PTO that I feel like you really start to know and feel the longer you work at your company.

Speaker 1

对,咱们今天先聊聊按工时累积的带薪休假,因为咱们俩都没有那种无限休假的福利,所以这方面就不多说了。

Right now we'll talk about earned PTO because we both don't have unlimited PTO so we can't speak too much to that.

Speaker 1

但我完全同意,确实有种感觉,这假是我挣来的,你不能随便就剥夺或者拒绝我。

But I totally agree that there's definitely a feeling of, I've earned this PTO, so you can't just, like, take it away from me or deny me.

Speaker 1

而且在大多数情况下,确实如此。

And I think for the most part, that's usually the case.

Speaker 1

不过你说得对。

But you're right.

Speaker 1

确实有些时候,你会觉得,也许我这时候不该请假。

There's definitely moments where you're like, oh, maybe I shouldn't have taken PTO in this moment.

Speaker 1

或者觉得,现在这个时间点不太合适,要是硬要请假,可能会给人留下不好的印象。

Or, like, this particular time is a bad time, and it could make me look bad if I'm, like, forcing my way into PTO.

Speaker 0

没错。

Totally.

Speaker 0

这其实让我想到一件挺有意思的事。

And that actually brings up something funny.

Speaker 0

我职业生涯中遇到过好几任上司。

So I've had a couple of bosses in my career so far.

Speaker 0

我以前有个老板,我们团队特别小。

And one of the bosses that I had, we were on a very small team.

Speaker 0

基本上就我跟他两个人。

It was basically my boss and me.

Speaker 0

所以只要我们俩有谁要休年假,就得确保团队里有人能顶上。

So anytime either of us took PTO, we would want there to be coverage within the team.

Speaker 0

休年假当然是应得的权利,但也得提前协调一下,比如‘我打算这段时间休假,你那边方便吗?’

So taking PTO was of course a earned right, but it was also something that required a little bit of coordination like, hey I'm gonna take this time off, Does that work with you?

Speaker 0

这会不会影响我们今年的团队目标?

How does that fit with like our team's goals for the year?

Speaker 0

所以我早就习惯了跟老板开诚布公地沟通这件事。

So I was very used to having an open communication about it with my boss.

Speaker 0

但后来我换了老板,情况就不一样了。

But a little bit later in my career, I had a different boss.

Speaker 0

那位老板刚接手时,我们团队已经扩大了不少。

And at the time that this boss became my boss, our team had since grown.

Speaker 0

所以团队里人多了一些,请假的覆盖情况我觉得更好了,可能需要的协调也少一点。

So there are multiple people on the team, little bit better PTO coverage I would say, so maybe a little bit less coordination required.

Speaker 0

我记得有一次我跟老板说,嘿,我打算休几天假。

And I remember once I was like, Hey, I'm thinking of taking these days off.

Speaker 0

你觉得行吗?

Is that cool with you?

Speaker 0

如果没问题的话,我就去系统里提交审批。

If so, I'll like put it into the system for approval.

Speaker 0

那位老板说,他不习惯有人来问他能不能休年假,我觉得这话挺有意思的,因为我心里想,你完全可以把它当成我在征求你的同意。

And that boss was like, Oh, I'm not used to people asking me for like permission to take PTO, which I thought was an interesting comment because in my head I was like, guess you could take it as like, I'm asking for permission.

Speaker 0

但其实我的本意是,如果我休这段时间的假,团队会不会受影响?

But really what it is is, is the team gonna be okay if I take this PTO?

Speaker 0

这种习惯是我之前在小型团队工作时深深养成的。

And that was something that was so ingrained into me with my smaller team experience.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

从那以后,我就觉得吧,与其问‘我请这段时间假行不行’,不如直接说‘我要提交请假申请了’。

So since then, I'm kind of like, I guess I should word it less so like, oh, is it cool if I take this time off and more like, I'm gonna submit this.

Speaker 0

你要是有什么需要我提前处理的,记得告诉我,这样听起来就不会像在请求批准似的。

Let me know if there's anything you need me to do beforehand so that it doesn't seem as permission seeking.

Speaker 0

但说实话,我当时就想,哎哟喂。

But at the same time, I was just like, bruh.

Speaker 0

咱们得现实点。

Like, let's be real.

Speaker 0

请假这事儿,确实多少带点需要批准的意味。

There are kind of permissions that come with, like, asking for time off.

Speaker 1

有一点吧。

A little bit.

Speaker 1

我觉得我跟你说的最初那种情况挺像的,我的团队和我职能差不多,但直属的小团队确实小得多。

I think I'm similar to your first situation where my team that has similar function with me, my more immediate team, is definitely smaller.

Speaker 1

所以,要是我休假了,老板也休假了,那些需要设计支持的人可就头疼了。

So, you know, if I'm on PTO and my boss is on PTO, it might be a rough time for people who need, like, design help.

Speaker 1

没错。

Right.

Speaker 1

不过呢,我会特别留意公司里 upcoming 的活动,或者那些明显会很忙的时段。

But yeah, I think what I do do is I really take note of when we have events coming up at work or we know that stretch of time might be busy time.

Speaker 1

通常我不会在那些时候安排休假。

And usually I won't schedule any PTO during that time.

Speaker 1

我一般会把休假安排在年底,或者我知道比较清闲的时候,尤其是刚过完一个大项目或大截止日期之后。

And I usually try to just do it towards the end of the year or when I know it'll be a little more chill, especially if it's, like, right after a big event or a big deadline.

Speaker 1

那种时候最合适,因为通常确实会轻松不少。

Those are, like, optimal times because usually it's a little more chill.

Speaker 1

你刚把所有任务都处理完,这时候休息一下,感觉特别好。

You just cleared your plate of all your tasks, and it's a good refresher, I think.

Speaker 0

我觉得你说得对,确实有些关键周适合休假,有些周就不那么合适。

I think you're right in that, like, there's key weeks that are better for taking PTO and key weeks that maybe aren't as appropriate.

Speaker 0

在我现在这份工作里,有几个月特别重要,我都会提醒自己,最好别在这段时间请假。

There are definitely some important months in my current job where I'm like, okay, I should probably try not to take vacation on these times.

Speaker 0

但我还注意到,很多家长往往不得不在同一个时间段请假,比如春假或暑假,因为得照顾孩子。

But another thing that I noticed is oftentimes parents will sort of be forced to take PTO, like at the same So like during spring break or summer vacation, I know a lot of parents kind of have to keep their kids entertained.

Speaker 0

所以对我来说,如果我团队里很多当父母的都得在这段时间休假,那我最好尽量避开这段时间休假。

So then for me, if a lot of people on my team who are like parents have to take these times off, it's probably best if I don't take that time off if I can avoid it.

Speaker 0

这样团队里至少还有人能回答问题之类的。

That way there's like someone on our team who's kind of able to answer questions or whatnot.

Speaker 1

等等,这话说得真对。

Wait, that's so true.

Speaker 1

尤其是当父母的孩子生病了,他们通常就得请假。

Especially if someone's a parent and their kid gets sick, then they like usually have to take PTO.

Speaker 1

或者孩子只要出点别的状况,感觉就多了一层麻烦。

Or if there's just any sort of complication with these kids, I feel like it's a whole added element.

Speaker 1

不过幸运的是,我团队里大概只有两三个同事有孩子。

Luckily on my team though, I think there's only two or three people in my bigger team who have kids.

Speaker 1

所以随机请假的情况也就少多了。

So there's like less just random needed PTO that's being taken.

Speaker 1

但我觉得,老兄,这真的很难。

But I'm like, dude, it's tough.

Speaker 1

我有时候看到他们说,天哪,一连六周孩子都生病了,这周我只能待在家里,不想把病传给别人,或者得请一天假带孩子去看医生。

I see sometimes they're like, my god, it's like six seasons, my kid got sick, so I'm gonna stay home this week because I don't want to like spread the sickness, or I'm gonna have to like take PTO this day because I need to take my kid to the doctor.

Speaker 1

我真是没想到。

I'm like wow.

Speaker 1

对他们来说,这等于干了双倍的活。

It's like double work for them.

Speaker 0

等等,这简直让我震惊。

Wait, holy shit.

Speaker 0

我从来没想过,原来带薪休假跟度假根本不是一回事。

This is like low key blowing my mind because to me PTO is so vacation focused.

Speaker 0

我以前只想着,今年二十天假,我到底该去哪儿度假,去哪个国家。

I'm like, oh, which state or like which country do I want to be in when I take my twenty days off this year or whatever.

Speaker 0

但你说得对,对当父母的人来说,这根本不是属于自己的时间。

But you're so right, like when someone is a parent, it's not really your time.

Speaker 0

这其实是你得为家人安排的时间。

It's like time that you have to allocate for your family.

Speaker 0

这样一来,好像就没那么有吸引力了。

And that kind of like, I don't know, takes the sparkle away from it a little bit.

Speaker 1

别担心,老兄。

Dude, don't worry.

Speaker 1

我那些有孩子的同事,大部分还是照样用年假去度假。

My coworkers who do have kids, they mostly do take PTO still for vacation.

Speaker 1

不过偶尔会有那么一两次,比如‘我生病了,今天在家休息’,或者‘孩子病了,怕传染别人,就不去上班了’。

But I think there's just like the occasional one or two where it's like, Hey, I'm sick so I'm gonna stay home today, or like, Kid's sick and like, don't wanna spread the germs.

Speaker 1

但大多数情况还是度假,你别多想。

It's usually still vacation, so don't worry.

Speaker 1

我觉得这个比例大概是95%对5%左右。

I would say the ratio is probably like 95 to like 5%.

Speaker 0

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

你刚才那一下真把我吓着了

You got me a little scared for

Speaker 1

就一小会儿。

a sec.

Speaker 0

我心想:糟了,我的假期要泡汤了。

I was like, oh no, my vacation.

Speaker 1

我觉得现在好在工作上挺灵活的,远程办公和来办公室都可以。

I think the good thing is that right now, like, work is relatively flexible with working from home and coming into the office.

Speaker 1

至少我们团队特别理解人。

And I think at least my team is very, very understanding.

Speaker 1

我们团队主要是女性,彼此之间特别信任,也很体谅。

We're mostly a team of women, so we have a lot of trust and a lot of understanding between us all.

Speaker 1

所以要是谁得去照顾孩子,那完全能理解。

So it's like, oh, if, you know, she has to go take care of her kid.

Speaker 1

这事儿我懂。

Totally get it.

Speaker 1

反正就是那些事。

Blah blah blah.

Speaker 1

我想这大概是带薪休假制度里的另一层意思吧?

I guess that's like another part of the whole PTO thing, right?

Speaker 1

比如说,如果你跟团队、跟老板关系处得好,彼此信任度高,那临时有事得请个假,情况会好商量一些。

Like, if you build up a good relationship with your team, with your boss, and you have a lot of trust, then it's a little easier to have to take last minute PTO if something happens.

Speaker 1

或者反过来,如果你平时休假比较多,只要跟他们关系到位,他们也能更理解你实际在忙些什么。

Or maybe you take a lot of PTO, then it's like easier for them to understand what's going on with you if you actually have a relationship with them.

Speaker 0

对,确实是这样。

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 0

我觉得这主要还得看你具体做什么工作。

I kind of see it more like it depends on the work that you do.

Speaker 0

如果你负责的工作时间要求特别紧,又特别关键,还得跟其他好几个团队紧密配合,那我觉得规矩和流程肯定就会多一些,结构也会更严一些。

If you're doing a lot of time sensitive, super critical effects, all these, you know, it's like a dependency for all these other teams or whatever, then I feel like maybe there's more rules and more structure.

Speaker 0

不过挺幸运的,我发现科技圈里有些公司,甚至这些公司里的某些团队,氛围都比较轻松,也比较灵活。

Luckily, feel like certain companies in tech or like certain teams even within these companies do tend to be more chill and more flexible.

Speaker 0

我觉得,如果你在比较轻松的团队里,休较长的假,或者连续几周休假,会容易很多。

So I feel like it's easier to take longer weeks off or maybe close consecutive weeks of PTO off if you are a part of like a more chill team.

Speaker 0

但我确实待过一些团队,哪怕你休假了,还是忍不住看手机之类的。

But I know I've definitely been on teams where it's like, oh, even when you're off, you kind of check your phone and things like that.

Speaker 0

这样其实挺让人不舒服的。

So that's not super pleasant.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

确实如此。

That's very true.

Speaker 1

我觉得自己挺幸运的,我们团队特别鼓励大家好好休假。

I think I'm very lucky that my team is all very encouraging of taking a proper vacation.

Speaker 1

他们都说:别看手机了。

They're like, Please don't check your phone.

Speaker 1

有我们在,你放心休息。

We've got you covered.

Speaker 1

别带笔记本电脑。

Don't bring your laptop.

Speaker 1

所有这些事儿都别带。

All of that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1

我觉得这真的很让人敬佩。

And I'm like, Wow, that's very admirable.

Speaker 1

我喜欢我们能这样互相支持,彼此有这份信任。

And I like that we can support each other like that, and we have the trust to do that.

Speaker 1

不过说实话,我还是会带着工作手机,以防万一。

Yeah, I think I personally though still bring my work phone with me, just in case.

Speaker 1

怕有什么紧急情况。

Just in case there's emergencies.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

另外说明一下,我说的信任是指,我知道团队成员能帮我处理突发状况,所以我带手机只是备个底;但其实根本用不上,万一休假期间突然冒出个紧急项目,我完全相信他们能搞定。

Also, to clarify, the trust I mean here is that I can trust my team members to pick up any emergencies that might I bring my phone just in case, but realistically, I probably don't ever have to do anything because if, you know, a last minute project were to come in while I'm on PTO, I know my team members would be able to handle it.

Speaker 0

这点说得太好了。

That's such a good point.

Speaker 0

而且我觉得这其实也是休假礼仪的一部分,就是在休假前帮团队做好安排,确保一切顺利。

And I actually think that's a part of PTO hygiene almost too, of like setting your team up for success while you take PTO.

Speaker 0

不过情况可能因人而异。我刚入行、还是初级员工的时候,休假期间的交接工作其实没那么重要。

And it might vary when I was like a very entry level like junior level employee, really the PTO coverage that I had wouldn't be significant, right?

Speaker 0

大概就是:哦,这里有个小任务我在做,如果有人问起,我留了些备注给他们。

It's like, oh here's like this minor task I was working on, here are some notes about it if anyone asks.

Speaker 0

但说实话,你在一家公司或团队待得越久,责任越大,我觉得就越得把一些事情写下来,告诉别人比如遇到这种情况该怎么做。

But truly like the longer you are at a company or on a team and the bigger your responsibilities grow I feel like you do kind of have to write stuff down instruct people on like okay if this comes in here's what you would do.

Speaker 0

我这两年的经验就是,最好写一份休假交接文档。

My learning in the last couple of years is to like write a PTO doc.

Speaker 0

里面列出我定期要做的工作、具体哪天做,还要指定对接人,明确谁负责哪块任务。

Here's my recurring tasks that I would do on what day, going to people and like assigning them to be the point person for that task.

Speaker 0

然后把这个文档分享给相关人员,同时也发给我的主管。

And then also just like sharing that doc out the relevant people and also to my manager.

Speaker 0

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

这样她就知道谁负责周一的报告,谁负责周三的报告,大家都能心里有数。

So that she knows, okay, this person is taking on Monday reporting, like this person is taking on Wednesday reporting, so that everyone is kind of in the loop.

Speaker 1

天哪,你的准备工作比我的详细多了。

Oh my god, yours is like more intense than my prep.

Speaker 1

我就跟老板说一声:我要请假了。

I'm just like, hey boss, I'll be gone.

Speaker 1

我觉得我手头的工作都做完了,但可能有人会找你问这事,我就提前跟他们说我要休假了。

And I think I finished all my work, but this person might email you about this, and I let them know that I'll be gone.

Speaker 0

嘿,这正是休假管理的正确做法。

Hey, that's that's PTO hygiene right there.

Speaker 1

但有一次,我真觉得挺愧疚的。

But there was one time where I felt really bad.

Speaker 1

那次其实是咱们团队的事。

It was actually us.

Speaker 1

有一年我们计划了一次度假。

We had a planned vacation one year.

Speaker 1

是的。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

你、我,还有几个朋友一起。

You, me, and a couple of our other friends.

Speaker 1

我们提前了大概半年到一年就安排好了。

We had planned it maybe it was like a year or half a year in advance.

Speaker 1

但后来我工作上突然出了个事。

But then an event came up at my job.

Speaker 0

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

那事儿正好发生在我们度假之后。

And it was like right after our vacation.

Speaker 1

我当时心想,天哪。

And I was like, oh my god.

Speaker 1

那时候我是唯一的设计师。

And at that time, I was the only designer.

Speaker 1

我当时有点慌,因为脑子里有两个念头在打架。

I was freaking out a little bit because there were like two thoughts going on.

Speaker 1

一个想法是,这假期早就定好了,总不能说取消就取消吧。而且我也提前跟当时的老板说了,她特别理解。

One is like, well, this vacation was planned a long time ago, so it's not like we could just cancel it it's And not just I let my boss at the time know, so she was very understanding.

Speaker 1

但另一个念头是,哎呀不行,我可不想把团队扔下不管,让他们自己折腾一两周。

But the other part of me was like, oh no, but I don't wanna just, like, leave the team to their own devices for, one and a half to two weeks.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

特别是那时候我是唯一的设计师。

Especially because I was, like, the only designer at the time.

Speaker 1

所以我当时跟我老板说,我请几个半天假,这样能确保在活动前把活儿都干完。

So what I did was I told my boss at the time that I would take a couple half days so that I could make sure that we're on track to still complete our stuff by the event.

Speaker 1

后来特别巧的是,我们正好在招另一位设计师,他后来成了我的资深设计师,他加入的时间刚好在我们度假前,或者就是度假期间。

But then what really worked out was that we were in the process of hiring another designer who would eventually be my senior designer, and they joined right before or maybe it was like right during our vacation.

Speaker 1

我当时就想,太好了。

And I was like, oh, perfect.

Speaker 1

总算有人能顶上了。

Like, there is someone to cover.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

但我有点过意不去,毕竟他们刚来。

But I felt a bit bad because they're just joined.

Speaker 1

一来就得直接上手干大事。

So they were, like, getting thrown into the deep end of doing stuff.

Speaker 1

不过最后一切都顺利解决了。

But it ended up all working out.

Speaker 1

从那以后,我们团队在安排这类活动时就更提前通知了。

And then ever since then, our team has been better about announcing when these kinds of events would happen.

Speaker 1

因为那还是第一次发生这种情况。

Because that was the first time that it happened.

Speaker 1

所以通知得比较晚,我当时心想,天哪,我完全没料到会有这回事。

So it was announced a little later and I was like, my god, I didn't know to expect this.

Speaker 0

这种事确实挺让人头疼的,尤其是临到跟前突然冒出个急活儿,你心里肯定在想,假期前我该怎么搞定这一切啊?

That's always rough when something really urgent comes up last minute and you're just like, how am I supposed to tackle all of this before my vacation?

Speaker 0

毕竟我还是要去度假的嘛。

Because I'm still going on that vacation.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我不知道你们是不是也有同感,但我总觉得,在休假前的一周总是最忙乱的一周。因为我要去跟所有对接的同事沟通,交代好休假期间的交接事宜,而且我自己也想把活儿都处理完、收尾好再走。

I don't know if you feel this way, but I feel like for me the week before I take a week or two off is always like the craziest week because I'm going to all my cokers and you know doing that whole PTO coverage spiel but also because I want to handle all of my work and get it really wrapped up before I go.

Speaker 0

那一周本来就很忙,我还遇到过特别紧急的情况,不得不在休假前一晚加班到凌晨一点左右,一边还得收拾行李。

That week is already busy but I've had times where something really urgent comes up and I've had to work till like 1AM or something the night before my vacation while also trying to pack at the same time.

Speaker 0

所以我注意到,有些同事会在休假前几周就提前做准备。如果是对外联系的岗位,他们会在邮件签名里注明即将休假,比如‘2月21日到3月6日期间,邮件回复可能会延迟’。

So one of the things that I've noticed that some of my coworkers will do is a couple weeks before they go on vacation, if they're like external facing person they'll put in their signature of the email expecting to go on PTO two twenty one to three six will have limited email during that time.

Speaker 0

当然,休假期间你也会设置自动回复,告诉对方:如果是关于X、Y、Z的问题,请联系某个人;如果是关于ABC的问题,请联系另一个人。

And then of course you also do the auto reply when you're out on PTO to be like okay if your question is about x y and z email this person if it's about abc email this other person.

Speaker 0

所以我觉得,提前让大家知道你要休年假,其实挺好的。

So I was like okay it's kind of nice to like let everyone know beforehand that you're going on PTO.

Speaker 1

在签名里注明即将休假,这个主意不错。

That's a good idea putting in your signature upcoming PTO.

Speaker 1

我最近开始做的一件事,是给一位主要利益相关者发每周简报。

One thing that I have started doing is I send out a weekly newsletter to one of my main stakeholders.

Speaker 1

我通常会在里面提一下接下来的休假安排,或者哪些日子我无法回复邮件,我觉得挺有帮助的。

So I usually share in there, Oh, upcoming PTO, or dates that I won't be available, which I think is pretty helpful.

Speaker 1

但自动回复功能真的特别重要。

But the autorespondervacation responder is so crucial.

Speaker 1

说实话,我休假期间还没遇到过什么紧急情况。

Well, I don't know, I thinkbecause I haven't had any real emergencies come up while I'm in PTO.

Speaker 1

一切都很顺利,不过我想,关键还是让找你的人知道,你暂时不在。

It's always fine, but I guess it's just the fact that it's, like, letting people know who are reaching out to you, like, hey.

Speaker 1

我会晚点回来。

I'll be back later.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对

Yeah.

Speaker 1

但有一次我差点忘了设置,而且我没带工作电脑出门。

But one time I almost forgot to set it, and I didn't bring my work laptop with me.

Speaker 1

我当时心想,天哪。

I And was like, oh my god.

Speaker 1

你能用手机设置这个吗?

Can you set this thing from your phone?

Speaker 1

幸运的是,可以。

And luckily, could.

Speaker 1

不过,是啊

But, yeah,

Speaker 0

我当时也觉得,天哪。

I was like, oh god.

Speaker 0

我现在就得设置好,不然别人给我发邮件怎么办?

I need to set this right now or else what if people email me?

Speaker 0

你还得记得关掉,要是日期设错了,或者忘了切换某个选项的话。

I feel like you also have to remember to turn it off if you didn't set the dates correctly, for example, or like if you just forget to like toggle one thing.

Speaker 0

我收到过别人的回复,说他们某天就回办公室了。

I've gotten emails back from people where they're like, I'll be back in office on this date.

Speaker 0

我一看,等等,那都三天前了。

And I'm like, wait, that date was like three days ago.

Speaker 0

你都回办公室了。

You're back in office.

Speaker 1

是啊,这挺搞笑的。

Yeah, that's funny.

Speaker 1

这其实是我最担心的事之一。

That's actually one of my biggest fears.

Speaker 1

我就怕我把日期设错了。

I'm like, what if I set the dates wrong

Speaker 0

而且我的邮件根本发不出去

and like my emails don't send

Speaker 1

或者我的邮件停不下来一直发?

or like my emails don't stop sending?

Speaker 0

对啊。

Right.

Speaker 0

不过说真的,撇开休假安排不谈,你自己有没有设过底线,觉得多少假期算太多?

But honestly, PTO coverage aside, do you have any personal guardrails on like how much PTO is too much PTO?

Speaker 0

或者觉得一次休假多久算太长?

Or like how much vacation is too long of a vacation?

Speaker 0

类似这样的界限。

Or anything like that.

Speaker 1

我确实有,我一般不会一次请超过两周的假。

I'm on, I definitely do.

Speaker 1

我尽量不让自己的假期超过两周。

I try not to take more than two weeks of PTO at a time for vacation purposes.

Speaker 1

这样加起来就是十个工作日,每周五天。

So that's like ten workdays, five each week.

Speaker 1

如果能顺带搭上一个节假日,就能省下一个带薪休假天数。

And then if you can, tag on like a holiday, and then that way you can save one of your PTO days.

Speaker 1

比如二月份有个总统日。

So for example, in February there was like Presidents' Day.

Speaker 1

要是能把休假和那天连起来,感觉会挺舒服的。

If you could take PTO and tag that on, it would be like kind of nice.

Speaker 1

不过总的来说,我休假一般不会超过两周。

But yeah, generally I try not to take more than two weeks for vacation purposes.

Speaker 1

我也不太喜欢把休假安排得太密集。

And I also try not to take PTO too close together.

Speaker 1

比如说三月份我休了两周,那接下来至少两三个月内,我不会再休一周以上的长假。

So like if I took two weeks in, say, March or something, I probably would not try to take long PTO, anything a week or longer, for at least two or three months.

Speaker 1

这只是我个人的习惯。

Just personally.

Speaker 0

真的吗?

Wait, really?

Speaker 0

我觉得你去年请了特别多的假。

I feel like you took so much PTO last year.

Speaker 1

我知道,但那几次都是分开的。

I know, but it was because it was all very separated.

Speaker 1

我请了两周,我想。

So I took two weeks, I think.

Speaker 1

三月的时候请了两周,或者是一周半。

It was either two or one and a half weeks in March.

Speaker 1

下一次请休假是在十一月。

And then the next time I took PTO was in November.

Speaker 1

哦。

Oh.

Speaker 1

这是因为我要出国旅行

It's because when I travel

Speaker 0

哦,你当时是吗?

Oh, you were?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我国内出差的时候通常不请年假,因为出差期间的工作时间跟平时差不多。

When I travel domestically, I usually don't take PTO because if I'm traveling domestically, like, the hours are about the same.

Speaker 1

而且如果我跟朋友待在一起,他们工作日也多半在上班。

And if I'm hanging out with friends, they probably still have work on the weekdays too.

Speaker 1

所以我想,算了。

So I'm like, okay.

Speaker 1

不如趁机把工作做完,别落下进度,反正没理由非得休这个假。

I might as well just keep working and, like, get stuff done, you know, not fall behind if there's no reason to take this PTO.

Speaker 1

另外,我们公司一般在主要城市都有办公室。

And then also, my company usually has offices in like major cities.

Speaker 1

所以这也是个优势,需要的时候我还能去办公室上班。

So I think that's another pro because I can still go into the office if needed.

Speaker 0

是的,如果公司弹性回办公室的政策比较宽松,或者能远程工作,确实方便多了;要是回办公室要求特别死板,想请国内假就难多了。

Yeah, I feel like it's definitely really helpful when your company has like a more flexible RTO policy or you're able to do that stuff remotely versus if you do have strict RTO policy, it's harder to take those domestic PTO days.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

不过这样真的很棒,还能省下不少年假。

But that is really nice and you save so much vacation time.

Speaker 0

我觉得我的情况跟你差不多,但真的挺难的。

I think I have similar rules as you but it's hard.

Speaker 0

我越长大,越觉得很难坚持这些规则,因为很多时候休假已经不是我自己说了算了。

I feel like the older I'm getting the harder it is to like adhere to these things because a lot of the times vacation might not be around my volition anymore.

Speaker 0

我得配合好多人的时间安排,尤其是婚礼这类事情。

I might be coordinating with like a bunch of other people's schedules, especially for things like weddings and whatnot.

Speaker 0

日期和地点主要得看新人怎么定,对吧?

It's up to the couple, right, to like really set the date and the location.

Speaker 0

我发现,要是完全跟着别人的计划走,想把假期分散开,真的越来越难了。

I'm realizing it's like harder and harder to try to spread it out if it's based on someone else's plans.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

不过我觉得,对我来说,最多也就两周半吧。

But yeah, I think two and a half weeks is like the max for me.

Speaker 0

如果时间更长,那我希望自己在公司待得久一点,心里也更踏实,敢申请连休更长的假期,毕竟你在公司待得越久,帮别人扛的活越多,申请连续休假也就越自然。

And if it's longer than that, then hopefully I'm like more tenured and feel more comfortable booking longer PTO because I think that's also, you know, the longer you're at a company and like the more PTO coverage you picked up for someone else, think it's easier to ask for longer vacation days in a row.

Speaker 0

但如果你刚来公司没多久,哪怕假时够用,也总觉得开口要那么长的假有点过意不去。

But if you've been at a company for a shorter amount of time, it feels a little bad to ask for a really long vacation off, even if you have the hours.

Speaker 1

当然了。

Oh for sure.

Speaker 1

我觉得这算是我个人的一个原则。

I think that's another, I guess, like personal rule.

Speaker 1

如果刚加入一个团队或公司,我一般会尽量前六个月都不请休假。

If I'm new to a team or company, I try not to take PTO for at least the first six months or so.

Speaker 1

因为我觉得主要有两个原因。

Because I feel like there's two big reasons.

Speaker 1

一方面,这本来就是比较轻松的阶段,你通常得花前几周到一个月的时间适应新角色,了解同事、利益相关者和团队成员。

One is like, this is already pretty chill time, and you're usually spending maybe the first couple weeks to a month ramping up, learning your role, getting to meet the people around you, your stakeholders, your teammates.

Speaker 1

这段时间其实挺宝贵的,毕竟你在学习、融入公司。

And that's like pretty valuable time, you know, learning and being at the company.

Speaker 1

等你慢慢上手了,也就开始找到节奏,差不多能建立起自己的工作习惯。

And then after that, you're just like getting into the flow and I think kind of building a routine almost.

Speaker 1

我觉得这时候最好还是安心待着,别急着走,至少现在压力不大,还能趁机建立关系。

I think it's like a pretty good time to just stay there and it's not like too stressful, hopefully, you're building up your relationships.

Speaker 1

我觉得这个阶段留下特别重要。

I feel like it's a pretty important time to stay.

Speaker 1

而且我觉得吧——当然这只是我个人的想法——如果你刚来就计划休三周假,别人可能会觉得不太妥当。

And I think it also, well I don't know, this is just me, but I feel like the perception is that maybe it looks bad if you join and immediately you're like, oh, I planned this vacation to take in, like, three weeks.

Speaker 1

刚来就走,不太合适。

Bye, guys.

Speaker 1

当然,如果这假期是之前就定好的,那另当别论,比如你得跟大家说声抱歉,之前已经安排好了。

Unless, of course, it was, like, a previously planned, like, I'm so sorry everyone, like, I already had this plan.

Speaker 1

我觉得这有点不一样。

I think that's a little different.

Speaker 0

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

这确实是一种情况,如果有人刚加入就马上到处旅行,一休就是好几周,我可能也会有点看法。

It's definitely one of those things where I feel like I would also maybe like slightly judge someone if they joined and then suddenly was jet setting across the world taking like multiple weeks off.

Speaker 0

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

这就像一种情况,你其实想做个随和的人,但如果你还不太了解对方,往往就会这样。

It's like one of those things where you wish you could be like the chill person, but I think if you just don't know someone well enough, that's just kind of what happens.

Speaker 0

所以像我,也会注意这一点,尽量别在头几个月把年假算得太精明。

So then like you, I also try to be mindful of that, towing the balance of min maxing PTO for the first couple of months.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

而且我觉得这很大程度上还得看你的团队,我相信肯定有不少团队根本不在意这个。

And I think it probably also really depends on your team because I'm sure there's definitely a lot of teams who might not care.

Speaker 1

他们可能会想,哦,这正是个好时机去休个假,想走就走吧。

They might be like, oh, yeah, this is really good downtime to take some vacations, so go ahead if you want to.

Speaker 1

但我觉得关键还是得先摸清团队的氛围。

But I feel like definitely just kind of like feel out the vibes.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

而且你本身也没多少假期可以花。

And also you probably just don't have many hours to spend anyway.

Speaker 1

这话说得真对。

Oh, that's so true.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

当然,如果你有无限制的年假,情况就完全不一样了,不过我对这种制度没什么经验。

Of course the case is very different if you have unlimited PTO but I just don't have experience in that field.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

想问你个问题:你有没有经历过相反的情况,就是突然意识到自己好像没休够年假?

Question for you: have you ever experienced the opposite where you suddenly realise like, I'm like not taking enough PTO?

Speaker 1

还没呢。

Not yet.

Speaker 1

不知道为啥,过去这三年左右,我年底总爱安排些国际旅行。

For some reason, I've been like making international trips towards the end of the year for the past three years or so.

Speaker 1

我平时做那种大型国际旅行,通常会请大概两周的假。

Usually when I do those bigger international trips, I take about two weeks of PTO.

Speaker 1

到目前为止,我还没遇到过公司说你的年假有上限的情况。

And so, so far I've not hit the ceiling where they're like, Oh, your PTO days are capped.

Speaker 1

比如他们可能会说,你得休点假了。

Like you need to take some time off.

Speaker 1

我不确定这算是好事还是坏事。

I don't know if that's a good or bad thing.

Speaker 0

对,我感觉最近我请了不少假。不过话说回来,疫情期间我工作量特别大,而且那时候大家也不太出门旅行,对吧?

Yeah, I feel like recently I've been taking a ton of PTO, but I will say COVID years, my workload was super heavy and also people weren't really traveling at that time, right?

Speaker 0

主要是为了健康考虑。

Just health wise.

Speaker 0

所以我还记得那几年,确实有几次我觉得,天哪,就算哪儿也不去,我也得休息一天。

So I remember those years, there were definitely some moments where I was like, oh my god, even if I don't go anywhere, I need to take a day off.

Speaker 1

这真是

This is

Speaker 0

工作太多,经常加班到很晚。

too much work, I'm working late hours.

Speaker 0

有时候我甚至周末都在工作。

Sometimes I was even working on like weekends.

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 0

所以我觉得,人生总有那么一些时刻,你会突然意识到,自己攒了好多年假没休。

So yeah, I feel like there are moments in life where you just look up and you're like, have a lot of PTO in the bank.

Speaker 0

我应该把它用掉。

Like I should spend it.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

这也是我后来才慢慢接受的一件事。

And that's something that I've had to come to terms with too.

Speaker 0

有时候我对年假有种囤积癖,总觉得这宝贵的假期得留着,等去国外旅行的时候再用。

Sometimes I have like a hoarder's mentality with like PTO where I'm like, oh my precious PTO, like I need to save this for whatever international trip.

Speaker 0

但我现在明白了,如果你真的需要休息一天,哪怕只是在家待着,不去哪儿,也值得拿出来用。

But I realized like sometimes if you really need a day, it's worth taking it even if you don't really do anything or go anywhere.

Speaker 1

我也是典型的年假囤积型人格。

I'm also definitely a hoarder mentality for my PTO.

Speaker 1

我说过我会用假期或年假去旅行,但如果真没法用年假,我宁可不休。

I mean I've said that I take like vacation and I'll take PTO for that, but literally if I cannot take PTO, I will not take it.

Speaker 1

比如国内旅行,我就觉得,干嘛非得用年假呢?

Like for example, the domestic travelling, I'm like, why would I take PTO for this?

Speaker 1

我其实应该把这些假存起来,对吧?

I should just save, you know?

Speaker 1

所以我完全能理解你的想法。

So I totally get that.

Speaker 1

你说得太对了,在平时的日子里,我根本不会去想,哎呀,我是不是累坏了。

And you're so right, in the regular day to day, I don't really think, Oh, maybe I'm super burnt out.

Speaker 1

我也不会想着干脆请个周五的假之类的。

I should just take a Friday off or something.

Speaker 1

但当你退一步从大局来看,就会觉得,哦,也许这样确实能帮上忙。

But when you like step back and look at the big picture, it's kind of like, Oh, maybe that would help.

Speaker 0

这总是很有意思。我觉得当你工作特别忙的时候,显然有很多事情等着处理。

And it's like always interesting because I think when you're really, really busy at work, there's obviously so much work that needs to get done.

Speaker 0

光是工作量来说,你根本不会想着,哦,我该请个假,因为那样你就少了一些时间投入项目。确实是这样。

Even just workload wise, like the last thing I'm thinking is, oh, I should take some time off because then you have less hours to put towards that project True.

Speaker 0

或者不管你在截止日期前想完成什么任务。

Or whatever you're trying to accomplish before the deadline.

Speaker 0

我总觉得这简直是个两难局面。

I always find it to be sort of like a catch 22.

Speaker 0

我知道休息一天真的会有帮助,但那样也少了八个小时能用来完成手头事情的时间。

I know this day off will really help, but that's also eight less hours that I could put towards like finishing something.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我也不知道该怎么解决这个问题。

I don't know what the right answer is for that.

Speaker 1

我注意到有些人总是把年假攒着,结果突然收到一封邮件,说你的年假快到期了,下一次发工资前必须用掉一天。

You know, what I've seen is people just save their PTO and then they get an email that says like, hey, your PTO is like full so you need to take a day off before your next paycheck.

Speaker 1

于是他们只好说,好吧,那我就被迫休息一天吧。

And so they're like, Okay, I guess I'm forced to take a rest day, a day off.

Speaker 1

结果发现,这天休息还挺舒服的。

And then they're like, That was kinda nice.

Speaker 1

这就是我看到的情况。

So that's what I've seen.

Speaker 1

也许你根本不用刻意去想,等那封邮件来了自然就知道了。

Maybe you don't have to actively think about it and you just wait for that email to come.

Speaker 0

我觉得今年我的情况正好相反。

I think this year I have the opposite problem.

Speaker 0

我把年假都用得一分不剩了。

I've been like running my PTO balance down to zero.

Speaker 1

天哪,这可不好。

So Oh no.

Speaker 0

这儿真是忙得不可开交。

It's crazy out here.

Speaker 1

你知道,总会有那么一段时间。

You know, there's always that period of time.

Speaker 1

我觉得通常是七月到八月,那时候你会想,八月怎么连个长周末都没有。

I think it's like July to August where you're like, oh, August has no long weekends.

Speaker 1

然后你就开始琢磨,下一个长周末到底什么时候来。

And then you start to think about like, when is the next long weekend coming?

Speaker 1

九月到十月这段时间,也没什么长周末。

After the September into October, that's also like a little low of like no long weekends.

Speaker 1

我觉得就是这时候,我会认真考虑一下:哎,真没长周末啊。

And I think those are the times where I do seriously consider a little bit, Oh, there's no long weekends.

Speaker 1

要不我自己给自己造一个?

Should I just make myself one?

Speaker 1

但这还得看你自己有多忙,以及有多需要休那点假。

And then it depends on how busy you are and how in need of that PTO you feel.

Speaker 1

不过你说得对。

But you're right.

Speaker 1

如果你真的特别忙,就会觉得现在根本抽不出时间休假。

If you're really busy, you're kinda like, There's no time to take PTO right now.

Speaker 1

但你有没有想过,要是熬过这段最忙的时期,

But do you ever think of it like, oh, if you get through this busy hump,

Speaker 0

就可以用一天假来犒劳自己?

you can reward yourself with, like, a day off?

Speaker 0

我觉得在结束一个大项目的时候,肯定会有这种感觉。

I think I've definitely felt that way with closing a big project or something.

Speaker 0

不过我也觉得,这很大程度上取决于你的行业。

But I also think it very much depends on your field of work.

Speaker 0

有些行业根本就没有什么清闲的时候。

There are certain fields of work where there's no chill season.

Speaker 0

就是各种重复性的任务,一堆事情等着处理。

It's like a lot of recurring tasks, a lot of things that need to be done.

Speaker 0

我觉得特别是那些在供应链或者运营领域工作过的人,那种忙碌的节奏真的不会停。

I think especially if anyone has worked in like supply chain or operations, the grind doesn't really stop.

Speaker 0

所以在那样的行业里,我不太觉得会有那种‘哎呀,终于能歇会儿’的感觉。

So then in that field, I don't know if I like really felt like there was a Oh, no.

Speaker 0

根本没有什么特别清闲的时候。

That much of a chill time.

Speaker 0

就算有,可能也就一个月里有一周能稍微放松一下。

Or if I if there was a chill time, it would be for like a week of the month.

Speaker 0

然后就会重新回到那种忙碌的节奏里。

Then it would like go back into that grind.

Speaker 0

不过我明白你的意思,就是如果一年里没安排多少真正的假期,

But I think I know what you mean about when there's not a ton of true like holiday baked in.

Speaker 0

我就会特别想休个假。

I start to really crave PTO.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

而且这正是我们还没当父母的人的特权,比如十月里随便挑个周末就能请假休息。

And that's actually the privilege that we have as people who aren't parents yet of, oh, I can just like take a day off on like a random weekend in October.

Speaker 0

比如我不必非得赶在劳动节周末或阵亡将士纪念日周末出行,那些时候度假胜地早就人满为患了。

Like I don't have to adhere to like Labor Day weekend, Memorial Day weekend, where all the vacation spots are so crowded already.

Speaker 0

我们可以挑个清闲的周末去某个地方旅行。

We can kind of choose a chill weekend to go and travel somewhere.

Speaker 1

确实是这样。

That's so true.

Speaker 1

我觉得我有个同事,她有个女儿,下周打算请假去迪士尼。

I think one of my co workers who has a daughter, she is taking next week off because gonna go to Disneyland.

Speaker 1

我当时就想,天哪,现在去可能还行,但再过几周说不定就赶上春假高峰期了,人肯定很多。

And I was like, oh my god, it might bewell actually I think right now it's okay ish, but I was like, a couple weeks from now it could be like busy spring break season, you know?

Speaker 1

不过我想对他们来说,可能正好是滑雪季?

But I think for them it's like ski week maybe?

Speaker 1

所以我又想,等等,那时候可能也挺挤的。

So I'm like, wait, it might also still be busy.

Speaker 1

对,他们确实是这样。

Like they're they're just you're right.

Speaker 1

他们不得不按照固定的日程来安排。

They're they're forced to follow a certain schedule.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

说实话,我每天都在数日子,庆幸我们还没当父母,还能像现在这样自由自在地做这些事。

I'm like honestly counting down the years where we are still not parents and we can like do these things.

Speaker 0

我就在想,咱们还能有几个十月可以出去旅行呢?

I'm like how many more Octobers can we actually travel?

Speaker 0

不过我还有几个比较有趣的问题,想从实际操作层面问问你。

But I have a couple of funny questions for you logistically.

Speaker 1

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

咱们之前聊了不少关于怎么规划年假、请几天假比较合适之类的话题。

So we talked a lot about like planning for PTO, the appropriate number of days you can take off that kind of stuff.

Speaker 0

不过说到底,你休假的时侯得在系统里登记一下。

But at the end of the day, when you take time off, you have to put it into the system.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

而且你最好也在日历上标出来。

And you have to put it into your calendar as well.

Speaker 0

所以第一个问题,你想请几天假,但还没最终确定。这时候你去日历上把日子空出来,结果发现团队里好几个人都选了同一周休假。

So question number one, you are trying to take some time off and it's not yet set in stone, but you go to like block the days off on your calendar and you see that multiple people on your team are taking that exact week off.

Speaker 0

你会怎么处理这种情况?

What do you do?

Speaker 1

好,这得看具体情况。

Okay, well it depends.

Speaker 1

我请这个假是因为要去度假,还是纯粹为了放松玩一玩?

Am I taking this PTO because I'm vacationing or just like for fun?

Speaker 0

你可能在想,要不干脆找个周末去趟夏威夷之类的地方,虽然还没订行程,但先看看日历。

You're thinking, maybe I should just take a trip to Hawaii, like some random weekend, and you haven't booked anything yet, but you check the calendar.

Speaker 1

所以如果是假期或者比较轻松的时段,比如大型活动刚结束那会儿,那大家休假的越多越好。

So if it's holiday season or, like, I know it's kinda more, like, chill season, maybe it's right after a big event or something, dude, the more people taking PTO, the better.

Speaker 1

但要是赶上忙季,我就得掂量掂量了。

But if it's busy season, then I'll think twice about it.

Speaker 1

我心里就会咯噔一下。

I'll be like, oh, shoot.

Speaker 1

心想这些人肯定得忙着处理私事。

These people are gonna be preoccupied by whatever is happening in their personal lives.

Speaker 1

也许我会把旅行推迟一周左右。

Maybe I'll move my trip out by, like, a week or something.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我觉得对我来说,要是十二月最后两周,大家都会休假,那根本没什么大不了的。

I feel like for me too, if it's like last two weeks of December, I'm like, you know, everyone's gonna be off like no biggie.

Speaker 0

但如果是在某个普通的星期,我就会想,算了,这时间可能还是别休了。

But if it's on like a random week, I'd be like, okay, I probably can't take this time off.

Speaker 0

某种程度上,这就像先到先得吧。

It's kind of like first come first serve to a certain extent, I think.

Speaker 1

是的,如果很多人请年假,我觉得你得先看看情况再决定。

Yeah, I guess it's like you have to like survey the situation a little more if more people are taking PTO.

Speaker 1

但有趣的是,去年十二月最后两周,我团队里几乎所有人都请了假,不管是去旅行还是陪家人,我记不太清了,但当时我就想,今年怎么这么多人请年假。

But what's really funny is like last year, last two weeks of December, it just so happened that almost everyone on my team took PTO, whether it was for travel, for like family time, I don't really remember, but I was like, wow, this year in particular, there's more people taking PTO.

Speaker 1

所以我决定不请了,反正我又不出门,工作节奏也会很轻松。

So I was like, okay, I'm just not gonna take PTO because I wasn't travelling and it'll be chill anyway.

Speaker 1

我要是这时候请假,纯粹是浪费。

If I took PTO, it would be a waste.

Speaker 1

这大概就是我的囤积心态了。

So that's my hoarder mentality right there.

Speaker 0

我确实也一直有这种想法。

I've definitely felt that way too.

Speaker 0

那周本来就会很清闲。

It's gonna be a chill week already.

Speaker 0

我可以趁机处理一些积压的事,工作节奏也可以慢一点。

Like I can kind of catch up on old tasks, maybe work a little slower than usual.

Speaker 0

是的

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

会少一些紧急的事情。

There's gonna be less urgent stuff.

Speaker 0

光是这一点就已经很轻松了。

So that in itself is already like very chill.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

你可以把这段时间用在准备新年的事情上,比如做一些我老是忘记做的培训。

And you could spend that time like, I think I ended up spending that time prepping for the new year and like doing some of those trainings that I always forget to do.

Speaker 1

实际上,和大多数人放假的习惯相反,只要有可能,我几乎从不放十二月的假。

I actually, maybe contrary to what the common vacation time is, like I actually rarely ever take December PTO, if I can help it.

Speaker 0

我也有同感。

I feel that as well.

Speaker 0

好,第二个问题。

Okay, question number two.

Speaker 0

你要订一张国际旅行的机票,比如去国外待两周之类的,而且你订得特别早。

You are booking an international trip, say it's like two weeks overseas or something, but you're booking it pretty far in advance.

Speaker 0

比如说,提前整整一年就订好了。

So say you're booking it like twelve months in advance.

Speaker 0

那你一般会提前多久在系统里申请年假?

How early do you book that PTO into the system?

Speaker 1

等等,这个问题其实挺有意思的。

Okay, so wait, this is actually kind of funny.

Speaker 1

不知道为什么,我不太喜欢太早把年假录入正式系统。

I don't know why, but I don't love putting PTO into the official system too early.

Speaker 1

所以我现在养成的习惯是,先在团队日历上把那几周标出来。

So what I've started to put into practice is I'll just book those weeks out on my team calendar first.

Speaker 1

我就直接写上‘Crystal 不在办公室’。

I'll just put in, like, Crystal out of office.

Speaker 1

然后我才会在系统里正式申请,最多也就提前六个月吧。

And then I won't officially put it into the system until maybe, like, at most, six months out.

Speaker 1

不过我通常会提前跟我的经理打个招呼。

But I'll usually give my manager a heads up.

Speaker 1

比如我会说,我计划在这个时间段去度假。

Hey, I planned this vacation for this time.

Speaker 1

然后她就会说,好的。

And she'll be like, okay.

Speaker 0

好的,我觉得我的做法跟你挺像的。

Okay, I think I'm very similar to you too.

Speaker 0

我会等到差不多六个月的时候,再把它录入系统。

I will wait till it's like about the six month mark and then I'll put it into the system.

Speaker 0

我想唯一的例外是,如果我知道那段时间特别忙,我可能会提前多一点通知。或者如果我确定那段时间完全联系不上,我就会开始在聊天中时不时提一下,比如‘天哪,我太期待了,我已经订好假期了’。

I guess the only exception is if I know that period is like super super busy, I'll probably give it a little bit more notice Or if I know I'll truly be like unreachable during that time or something, I'll start to like pepper it into conversations like, my god, I'm so excited like I booked this vacation.

Speaker 0

然后一直提醒大家这件事。

And just keep reminding people about it.

Speaker 0

当我把它录入系统时,大家就已经知道了,并不是突然的惊喜。

It's not like a surprise when I enter it into the system.

Speaker 0

但我真不明白,为什么我提前订假会感觉这么不安。

But I don't know why I feel so bad to book it really early.

Speaker 1

对啊,我也不懂。

Yeah, don't know either.

Speaker 1

不过有一部分原因是,我不想把年假一下子用完。

Part of it though, I don't wanna like use up my PTO.

Speaker 1

万一之后突然想请个短假,才发现已经把两周的假全用光了,那可就糟了。

What if I have some random in between PTO that I wanna use I'm like, Oh shoot, I just spent all that PTO on that two weeks.

Speaker 0

哦,原来如此。

Oh, see.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

不过现在想想,其实也没关系,因为年假不是每几周还在继续累积吗?

But now that I'm thinking about it, it doesn't even matter because if I spent it all, it's still accruing every couple weeks, right?

Speaker 1

所以这么说来,这根本就不是个实际问题。

So I guess that's actually not logically anything.

Speaker 1

但我也不清楚,就是有这种感觉。

But I don't know, just feels like it.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

总觉得我好像把所有底牌都亮出来了似的,你懂吧?

It kinda feels like I'm showing all my cards or something, you know?

Speaker 0

就像我把所有年假都摊在明面上了,暴露了我的年假焦虑。

Like I'm bearing all my PTO out there, Being PTO vulnerable.

Speaker 1

天啊,年假焦虑。

Oh my god, PTO vulnerable.

Speaker 1

天啊,说真的,我也有个问题,就是特别不好意思拒绝会议。

Oh my god, okay, I also I have a problem because I feel so bad saying no to meetings.

Speaker 1

我总是直接答应下来。

I always just say yes.

Speaker 1

如果拿不准,我就干脆不回。

And if I'm not sure, I just don't respond.

Speaker 1

你知道那个自动回复外出的设置吗?它会直接拒绝所有会议。

So you know how the out of office thing, it automatically just says no to all your meetings?

Speaker 1

老兄,我特意关掉了这个功能。

Dude, I set it so that it does not.

Speaker 0

哦。

Oh.

Speaker 0

因为你根本不想拒绝会议,哪怕你明明在休假。

Because you're like, I don't wanna say no to this meeting even though I literally am not working.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我就觉得吧,

I'm like,

Speaker 1

我不想让所有人都知道我今天不在办公室。

I don't wanna just announce to everyone that I'm out of office this day.

Speaker 1

不过我真得把设置改回来,因为这样我就得一天天手动回复每一个会议邀请。

Dude, I need to change that setting back though because what it forces me to do though is I have to go through those days and manually say no to every single meeting.

Speaker 1

这让我感觉更糟了。

And then that makes me feel even worse.

Speaker 1

其实这事一开始是因为我随便请了天假,想凑个长周末。

You know, this actually started because I think I took a random day off to attach to a long weekend.

Speaker 1

结果系统自动拒绝了所有日程邀请,不管是新的还是旧的。

And it was like automatically decline all calendar invites, new and old.

Speaker 1

我当时吓了一跳,就赶紧手动点了拒绝。

And it I it scared me, so I said no.

Speaker 1

不过我现在应该是只设了自动拒绝新邀请,不拒旧的。

But I think I do have it set to automatically decline new ones, but not old ones.

Speaker 1

那些旧的邀请,我还得一个个手动拒绝。

I have to manually decline the old ones.

Speaker 1

真让人不舒服。

It feels bad.

Speaker 0

咱们俩性格真不一样。

We're different people.

Speaker 0

我觉得这样特别舒服。

I'm like, this feels great.

Speaker 0

反正这些会我都不参加了。

Like, I'm not attending any of these meetings.

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 1

我觉得是因为我大部分会都是每周一次的团队会。

I I think it's because I a lot of my meetings are it's the one team meeting of the week.

Speaker 1

我其实没多少会要开。

I just don't have that many meetings.

Speaker 1

所以每次开会我都觉得该去。

So every meeting feels like I should go.

Speaker 1

我觉得自己有责任参加。

I'm obligated to go.

Speaker 1

所以要是说不去,感觉更糟。

So it feels even worse to be like, No,

Speaker 0

我就直接跳过这个了,因为我日程上根本没别的事。

I'm just gonna skip this because I literally have nothing else on my calendar.

Speaker 0

我还有两个快速问题要问你。

Okay I have two more rapid fire questions for you.

Speaker 1

什么时候

When

Speaker 0

你给团队日历安排休假时,是写 Crystal zero,还是写 Crystal PTO?

you book time off on your team calendar, do you put Crystal zero or do you put Crystal PTO?

Speaker 1

哦,写 Crystal zero。

Oh crystal zero.

Speaker 1

原来如此。

Oh okay.

Speaker 1

我觉得大家默认都知道这是在休年假。

I think it's like implied that we're taking PTO.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我其实会跟着团队的氛围走。

I actually match the vibes of my team.

Speaker 1

哦,明白了明白了。

Oh okay okay.

Speaker 0

如果团队休年假,我就跟着休年假。

I'm like if this team does PTO I'll do PTO.

Speaker 0

如果别的团队休,那我也休。

If this other team does, oh, I'll do, oh, oh.

Speaker 1

你知道吗?

You know what?

Speaker 1

这话说得有道理。

That's a good point.

Speaker 1

我觉得我团队里每个人都是随便填个备注。

I think everyone on my team just puts, oh, oh.

Speaker 1

所以如果大家都休年假,我大概也会跟着一起休,不想显得特别。

So if they all put PTO, I probably would be like, blend in.

Speaker 1

没必要突出自己。

No need to stand out.

Speaker 1

我打算休年假。

I'm taking PTO.

Speaker 0

确实如此,说实话。

Facts, honestly.

Speaker 0

我最后问你一个问题。

Last question for you.

Speaker 0

你怎么看那些说‘我要失联一阵子’的人?

How do you feel about people who say I'm gonna be out of pocket?

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 1

好吧。

Okay.

Speaker 1

这其实是个大问题,因为我专门查了,发现这根本不是‘out of pocket’的本意。

So this is a huge thing because I looked into it because I was like, this is like not what out of pocket means.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

但我查了之后觉得,有些人可能以为‘out of pocket’就是手机不在口袋里。

But I looked into it and I think what some people think it means is like their phone is out of their pocket.

Speaker 1

他们要去度假了。

They're gonna be on vacation.

Speaker 1

意思是不带工作相关的东西,彻底失联。

Like they're not bringing their work stuff so they're gonna be unreachable.

Speaker 1

对的。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

我当时就想,哦,这样啊。

And I was like, okay.

Speaker 1

这么说倒也能理解。

I guess that does make sense.

Speaker 1

但问题是,这到底为什么会发生呢?

But, like, why is it happening?

Speaker 1

最让人惊讶的是这一点。

Here's the craziest part.

Speaker 1

我查了之后发现,用得最多的反而是千禧一代到婴儿潮一代的中老年人。

When I looked into it, it was, like, older people, millennials to boomers who are using it this a lot.

Speaker 1

因为我觉得,当Z世代用这个词的时候,他们根本就是无意中误用的。

Because I think when Gen Z were using it, they were, like, just accidentally legitimately accidentally using it.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

我心想,原来如此。

And I was like, okay.

Speaker 1

可为什么现在它又重新流行起来了?

But then why is this coming back?

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你有没有

Do you

Speaker 1

明白我的意思?

know what I mean?

Speaker 1

就像,我们使用自动回复已经很久了。

Like, we've been using out of office for so long.

Speaker 1

为什么还要重新启用这个‘不在办公室’的状态,因为它很容易和其他含义混淆呢?

Like, why are we bringing back this out of pocket when it can be so confused with the other meaning?

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

哥们儿,我觉得我得跟听众们澄清一下,因为我一提到“out of pocket”这个词,或者说大家误用这个词的时候,Crystal看起来特别生气。

Dude, I feel like I have to clarify for the listeners because as soon as I brought up the phrase out of pocket or like, you know, people misusing out of pocket, Crystal started looking so angry.

Speaker 0

你整个人的态度都变了,我笑得眼泪都出来了。

Like your entire demeanor changed and I'm actually crying laughing.

Speaker 1

我都没意识到。

I didn't even realize.

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 0

但这确实挺有意思的。

But it is very interesting.

Speaker 0

我记得你曾经给我发过消息,说天哪。

I remember once you texted me like, my god.

Speaker 0

我觉得这些人把‘out of pocket’用错了,他们其实是想说‘out of office’。

I think these people are using out of pocket wrong to mean out of office.

Speaker 0

我当时就愣住了。

I And was like, what?

Speaker 0

这太离谱了。

Like, that's crazy.

Speaker 0

你发完那条消息后,我就发现到处都是这种用法。

And after you texted me that, I've been seeing it everywhere.

Speaker 0

真的。

Dude.

Speaker 0

每次看到我都觉得特别搞笑。

And every time I see it, it just cracks me up.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

因为在我们这儿,out of pocket 的意思大概是

Because out of pocket for us, it means like

Speaker 0

比如那种毫无逻辑、疯疯癫癫的评论

Like unhinged comment

Speaker 1

或者类似的情况。

or something.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

就像你说了特别没礼貌的话。

Like very like you said something really rude.

Speaker 1

这时候别人就会说,我要开始口无遮拦了。

When people are like, I'm gonna be out of pocket.

Speaker 1

你就像在做好心理准备一样。

You're like bracing yourself.

Speaker 1

哦,明白了。

Like, oh, okay.

Speaker 1

你准备说啥那么伤人的话?

What is like the mean thing you're about to say?

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

就像说完就走人一样。

Like drop the mic.

Speaker 0

但他们其实只是要去夏威夷,跟

But they're actually just going to Hawaii with

Speaker 1

而且,‘o o o’根本就不是那个意思。

the Also, o o o does not even mean out of pocket.

Speaker 1

O O

O o

Speaker 0

O 是指不在办公室。

o is out of office.

Speaker 0

超出预算

Out of pocket

Speaker 1

就是 O O P。

is o o p.

Speaker 0

确实如此。

So true.

Speaker 0

这里面有太多不对的地方。

There's just so many things wrong.

Speaker 0

所有迹象都表明你用错了这个说法。

Just all the signs point to you're misusing this phrase.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你太较真了。

You're so, like, worked up.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

就是因为我还没找到一个让人信服的解释,你懂吧?

It's because I just haven't found a satisfying answer, know?

Speaker 1

我得再深入查一查,因为这已经是我能找到的最靠谱的解释了。

I need to do more digging on this because this is like the best explanation that I could find.

Speaker 1

就是说,哦,好,你手机不在身上,所以你联系不上,对吧?

It's like oh okay, like your phone's out of your pocket, you know, I'm gonna be unreachable.

Speaker 1

但我心想,真的吗?

But I'm like okay, really?

Speaker 1

我觉得这种说法听起来挺别扭的。

Like, I feel like that's kind of awkward phrasing too.

Speaker 1

与其说‘我联系不上’,不如说‘我不带工作的东西’。

Like, I'm gonna be out of pocket versus like, I'm just not gonna bring my work stuff.

Speaker 0

是的,没错。

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 0

你口袋里能放下的工作用品,就只有手机了。

And the only work thing that fits into your pocket is like your phone.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你的笔记本电脑可放不进口袋里。

Your laptop doesn't fit in your pocket.

Speaker 1

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 1

你不是你的笔记本电脑。

So And you're not your laptop.

Speaker 1

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 1

这正是关键,对吧?

That's the thing, right?

Speaker 1

所以我觉得这种说法听起来怪怪的。

So I'm kind of like, this phrasing just doesn't feel right.

Speaker 0

你敢不敢在Slack上对下一位同事说‘我要失联一阵子’?

I dare you to call out the next person you see on Slack saying I'm gonna be out of pocket.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 1

我估计有一年多没见人这么说了。

I actually have not seen someone use that in like maybe a year.

Speaker 1

这样挺好。

So that's good.

Speaker 0

‘失联’这个说法总算过时了。

The out of pocket pandemic is over.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

但愿如此。

Hopefully.

Speaker 1

是的,自从我那回给你发过一条消息后,我就再没见人这么用了。

Yeah, like ever since I texted you that one time, I haven't really seen it since.

Speaker 0

哦,这样啊。

Oh, okay.

Speaker 1

也许当时是自动纠正出错了吧。

Maybe it was just an autocorrect or something.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我也不太确定。

Well, I don't know.

Speaker 0

我这边倒是经常看到,你这是把接力棒传给我了。

I've been seeing it on my end so you just pass the baton to me.

Speaker 1

好吧,但要是当时只是个意外,现在大家反而觉得好玩,开始故意用它来搞笑,结果就停不下来了呢?

Okay, but what if it's also like, it was an accident but now it's just like people started using it ironically because they thought it was funny and now they can't stop using it.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对

Yeah.

Speaker 0

这就像个网络迷因。

It's like a meme.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

差不多就是这么回事。

Pretty much.

Speaker 1

如果我以后发现更多关于这个莫名其妙的情况的真相,我会再告诉你。

I'll report back if I ever find if I ever uncover more truths about this out of pocket situation.

Speaker 0

这真是个未解之谜。

It's an unsolved mystery.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我有个问题想问你。

I have a question for you.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

那休假的时候,你会把所有工作的事都留在家里吗?

So for PTO, do you leave all of your work stuff at home?

Speaker 0

这得看情况。

So it depends.

Speaker 0

如果我去国外度假,一般不会带笔记本电脑。

If I'm taking a vacation like overseas, I will not bring my laptop for the most part.

Speaker 0

但我的手机里登录了所有工作账号,万一有紧急邮件或者Slack消息要回复,我还是会随时能处理。

But my phone has all of like my work stuff logged So into if I need to urgently respond to an email or like a Slack message or something, I'll have it on hand.

Speaker 0

说实话,我通常会关闭通知,不过你可以设置成只允许经理发来的消息提醒。

I'll usually turn off notifications to be honest, but you can select it so that it's like, turn off notifications unless it's from my manager or something like that.

Speaker 0

所以我一般都会开一下这种筛选设置。

So I'll usually toggle some sort of setting like that.

Speaker 0

但如果我去的是本地或国内旅行,我就会带上笔记本电脑。

But if I am going on vacation and it's local or like domestic, I will bring my laptop.

Speaker 0

因为那样带在身边方便多了。

Because then it's just like easy to bring it along with me.

Speaker 1

是的,这说得通。

Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 1

我同意你的看法。

I think I would agree with that.

Speaker 1

我的情况也差不多。

I'm probably of similar pattern.

Speaker 1

我还有一个最后的问题。

I have another final question.

Speaker 1

你休完假回来,通常要花多久才能处理完邮件?

How long does it take you to catch up on your inbox when you come back from PTO?

Speaker 0

天啊。

Oh god.

Speaker 0

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 0

说实话,光是想想我就开始焦虑了。

I'm getting, like, anxiety just thinking about it to be honest.

Speaker 1

好吧,算了。

Okay, never mind.

Speaker 1

你不用回答。

You don't have to answer.

Speaker 0

等等,我觉得公司环境或者团队氛围对这点影响挺大的。

Wait, I actually feel like the corporate setting or like your team setting is very important for this.

Speaker 0

以前我刚工作那会儿,感觉光清理邮件就得花整整一周。

In my past lives, I feel like it would literally take me like a week.

Speaker 0

回来一看,邮箱里塞了一千多封邮件。

And I would come back to like over a thousand emails.

Speaker 0

这主要是因为当时我的工作性质决定的。

Just because of like the sheer nature of what my work was focused around.

Speaker 0

总是有这么多消息在来回传。

There's always like all these comms going on.

Speaker 0

我得跟四十多个团队打交道,外面的人还老给我发邮件。

Working with like 40 different teams, like external people are emailing me.

Speaker 0

所以真要处理完,得花上一整周。

So it will legitimately take me like a week.

Speaker 0

但我觉得,如果是在一个更轻松、或者更专业的环境里。

But I think in like a more chill or also like a more specialized environment.

Speaker 0

比如你所在的团队只负责几件事,而不是帮所有人处理各种乱七八糟的事务,那我觉得大概一天就能搞定,

Like if you're on a team that handles a couple of things and not all these different things for like everyone, then I think it would probably take me, like, a day or

Speaker 1

两天吧。

two.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

对我来说,通常一天左右就能处理完。

I think for me, it's usually around a day.

Speaker 1

而且我职位也没那么高,没什么人会直接找我处理特别重要的事。

Also, I'm, like, not super high up, so I don't have a lot of people reaching out to me directly for really important stuff.

Speaker 1

他们随时都可以找我经理。

They can always just reach out to my manager.

Speaker 1

不过我觉得最难受的时候,是我在休假,却陷在一个超长的邮件串里,每发一封邮件,对方都会收到我的自动回复。

I think when I feel the worst though is when I'm in a long thread, and I'm on PTO, and every time they send an email, they get my auto response.

Speaker 1

我每次都特别抱歉,各位。

I'm like, I'm so sorry guys.

Speaker 1

但我觉得最让人头疼的,就是这些超长的邮件串,对吧?

But yeah, I feel like those long threads are the biggest thing, right?

Speaker 1

因为你得把所有错过的消息都翻一遍。

Because you have to read through everything that you missed.

Speaker 0

是啊,没错。

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 0

我以前休假回来,一打开邮箱全是邮件,每封都写着:‘Jisoo 周一前都在休假,周二才回来。’

Or I have trauma from like coming back on vacation to all these emails and you open each email and it says like, oh, Jisoo's on PTO till Monday, but she's back on Tuesday.

Speaker 0

等她回来我会让她尽快处理这个。

I'll have her look at this ASAP when she's back.

Speaker 0

结果居然有四十多封。

And there's like 40 of those.

Speaker 0

我当时就想,天哪,我该怎么把这些都补上

And I'm like, holy fuck, how am I supposed to catch up on

Speaker 1

这么多邮件?

all of those?

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 1

对,那确实挺让人头疼的。

Yeah, that's intense.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

还有一种情况,就是如果你在一个小团队,或者公司的管理结构比较松散,你们团队可能没有那种群发邮件的邮箱,你懂的?

Or the other one is like, if you're on a smaller team, or maybe there's like less structure in the company that you're working at, your team might not have like a distribution email, you know?

Speaker 0

所以就像有人直接给你发邮件问事情,但没抄送其他人,结果这些邮件就在那儿堆着,等你休假两周回来才看到。

So like if people are personally emailing you for stuff but no other people are cc'd so it's just like sitting there for the two weeks that you're out.

Speaker 0

我觉得这样挺让人头疼的。

I feel like that feels really bad.

Speaker 0

不过只要你确认其他同事都被抄送了,通常会有人帮忙处理的。

But as long as you know your other people are getting cc'd usually someone will take care of it.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

但有时候大家可能不知道该找谁,结果邮件就搁在那儿好几个星期没人回。

But sometimes people might not know who else to reach out to so it's just they're left unanswered for multiple weeks.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

太真实了。

That's so true.

Speaker 1

这大概是休完假回来处理收件箱最让人头疼的地方了。

That's probably the worst part about coming back from PTO, catching up on the inbox.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

等等

Wait.

Speaker 0

我马上就要冒冷汗了

I'm, like, about to break out into a cold sweat.

Speaker 1

天哪

Oh, no.

Speaker 1

天哪

Oh, no.

Speaker 1

好吧

Okay.

Speaker 1

我们不聊这个了

We'll stop talking about it.

Speaker 1

但每次回来和团队聊聊各自干的那些有趣的事,都挺开心的

But it's always fun to come back and chat with your team members about all the fun things you did.

Speaker 0

没错。

True.

Speaker 0

等等,我最喜欢的就是别人度假回来后,非得给你看他们拍的照片。

Wait, my favorite thing is when people come back from vacation and then they like show you photos.

Speaker 0

我心里想,这真可爱。

I'm like, this is so cute.

Speaker 0

简直就是现实版的Instagram。

It's like irl Instagram.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

所以我后来就开始了,有一次我去度假,团队里的人一直说:‘多拍点照片,多拍点照片。’

So what I've started to well, one time when I went on vacation, my team was like, take pictures, take pictures.

Speaker 1

你知道我的性格,我平时其实不太爱拍照,尤其是一个人旅行,或者和小团体一起的时候。

And you know me, I usually don't really take that many pictures, especially if I'm traveling like alone or maybe with, like, small groups.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

那次我独自旅行,他们一直念叨着要拍照,拍了又拍。

So that time I was traveling alone, and I was like, they said it so much, like, take pictures, take pictures.

Speaker 1

我就想,我也得满足一下他们的要求。

I was like, I owe it to them.

Speaker 1

其实他们对我了解得并不多。

They don't really know me that well.

Speaker 1

我觉得应该让他们多看看我那些随性的冒险经历。

I should really show them more about my, like, you know, random adventures.

Speaker 1

分享我私人旅行的照片也没什么不好的。

And there's no harm in sharing pictures about my personal travels.

Speaker 1

所以那次我特意拍了不少照片。

So at that time, I made a very intentional effort to take photos.

Speaker 1

回来后,我还专门做了个小演示。

After the trip, I even made a little presentation.

Speaker 1

其实就是把照片拼在一起,配上几句说明。

Well, was just like photos slapped on with some captions.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

但我还是想着,好吧,给你们看吧。

But I was like, here you go.

Speaker 1

你们不是一直想看我的照片吗,这下可以好好看了。

You can all look at my pictures since you all requested it.

Speaker 1

真可爱。

That's so cute.

Speaker 1

所以现在我觉得,分享这些还挺好的。

So now I'm like, it's kind of nice to share that.

Speaker 1

这也是个不错的聊天话题。

It's a good bonding topic too.

Speaker 1

因此,我现在都会尽量拍几张适合给团队看的照片。

So I try to take at least a couple photos that are acceptable to show to my team nowadays.

Speaker 0

这真的很可爱。

That is very cute.

Speaker 0

我觉得分享照片挺不好意思的。

I feel so shy like sharing photos.

Speaker 0

不过我确实会拍一两张重点照片。

But I do, I will try to take like one or two key stories.

Speaker 0

有些人会问,你假期过得怎么样?

Some people are like, How's your vacation?

Speaker 0

我就可以说,天哪,你绝对想不到发生了什么,等等等等。

I could be like, Oh my god, you'll never believe what happened, blah blah blah.

Speaker 0

这就成了一个话题,算是我确实去度假过的听觉证据。

And it's just like a talking point, Auditory evidence that I actually vacationed.

Speaker 1

对,他们就会想,这人真的去度假了吗?

Yeah, they're like, did this person actually vacation?

Speaker 1

他们总是请年假,但从来都不分享。

They always take PTO, but they never share.

Speaker 1

这就像我一样。

That's like me.

Speaker 0

我也是。

Same.

Speaker 0

天哪,我真的是在旅行。

Oh my gosh, I'm actually traveling.

Speaker 0

你一定要相信我。

Please believe me.

Speaker 0

当然,有那么一小会儿我有点反胃,心想:天啊,我怎么赶得上那堆根本不存在的邮件?

Well aside from the brief moment of nausea where I was like, my god, how am gonna catch up on my hypothetical inbox?

Speaker 0

聊我们各自的休假规则还挺有意思的,也让我特别期待今年剩下时间里你我都要放的假。

This has been very interesting to talk about our personal PTO rules and it also makes me very excited for all the upcoming PTO that you and I both have for the rest of the year.
