嗨,欢迎回到《Eat Your Crust》播客。

Hi, welcome back to Eat Your Crustpodcast.

Speaker 0

我是克莉丝特。

I'm Crystal.

Speaker 1

我是李智秀。

And I'm Jisoo.

Speaker 0

最近我刚满三十岁,我们在节目里聊过这事,但也让我开始思考,现在年纪大了,对生日派对的看法变了。

So recently I turned 30 and we talked about it on the pod, but that also got me thinking a bit about birthday parties now that we're older.

Speaker 0

我明显感觉到,最近我对生日派对的心态,跟小时候完全不一样了。

I totally feel like my mindset approaching birthday parties has been different recently versus when we were younger.

Speaker 0

所以我觉得,咱们不妨聊聊这个话题。

So I thought it would be fun for us to chat a little bit about this topic.

Speaker 0

也许我们可以从最开始说起。

Maybe we should start from the very beginning.

Speaker 0

我们还是小孩子的时候,你记得自己对生日有什么想法或者打算吗?

When we were just tiny little children, do you remember if you had any thoughts slash plans for birthdays?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 1

说来有趣,我七岁、八岁那会儿的生日派对,记得比高中时的还要清楚。

And funny enough, I remember some of my younger birthday parties from when I was, like, seven, eight years old better than, like, the birthdays that I used to do in high school.

Speaker 1

可能因为小时候是成长的关键阶段,印象就特别深。

Maybe because when we're younger, it's, like, the formative years, so it sticks around a little longer.

Speaker 1

我七岁那年,爸妈租了个充气城堡,还在后院给我办了个小派对。

But when I was seven years old, I remember my parents booked, like, a bounce house and then threw me, like, a little birthday party in the backyard.

Speaker 1

特别好玩,他们还给所有小朋友租了韩服,让大家穿上去玩。

It was so fun, and my parents rented some children's hanboks for all my friends to, like, dress up in and stuff.

Speaker 1

后院里还有一个小泳池。

There's also a mini pool in the backyard.

Speaker 1

整个生日派对分三个部分,特别丰富。

It was just, like, a three part birthday party.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 0

听起来真可爱。

That sounds so cute.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

那真的特别好玩。

That was so fun.

Speaker 1

直到现在,我觉得那仍然是我这辈子最难忘的生日派对。

And I feel like to this day, that's still like my favorite birthday party of all time.

Speaker 1

我觉得这太棒了。

I'm like, this is so cool.

Speaker 0

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

不过有个问题。

But question.

Speaker 0

你有参与策划吗,还是你爸妈完全一手包办的?

Did you partake in any planning or did your parents take full control of this one?

Speaker 1

这次生日派对完全是我爸妈一手操办的。

My parents took full control of this one.

Speaker 1

所以我那时候根本不知道蹦床屋是什么东西。

So I don't think I even knew what a bouncy house was.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

我小时候特别胆小,对大声响也特别敏感。

And I was like one of those kids that was scared of everything and also very overstimulated by loud noises.

Speaker 1

到现在我还是容易被突然的噪音吓到。

I still kind of am overstimulated by loud noises.

Speaker 1

我记得蹦床屋一运来,那个鼓风机的声音大得吓人。

So I remember when it came, I was like, the mechanism of keeping a bouncy house blown up is really loud.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1

我当时就想,这地方我可能待不住。

And I was like, I don't know if I like this.

Speaker 1

它大得吓人。

It's like so big.

Speaker 1

挺吓人的。

It's scary.

Speaker 1

但后来我想,等等,这还挺好玩的。

But then later on, I was like, wait, this is kinda fun.

Speaker 1

哎呀。

Aw.

Speaker 1

也许我父母比我更清楚我喜欢什么,而不是我实际的感受。

So maybe my parents knew what I liked more than what I actually felt.

Speaker 0

哎呀,真贴心。

Aw, that's cute.

Speaker 0

你爸妈这安排可真周到。

That was very good planning on your parents' part.

Speaker 0

那你有没有主动跟他们说,我想办个生日派对?

But did you approach them like, I wanna have a birthday party?

Speaker 0

还是说这事就这么自然发生了?

Or was it kind of it just happened?

Speaker 1

我觉得就是顺其自然发生的。

I think it just happened.

Speaker 1

那时候我经常搬家。

At the time, I was kind of moving around a lot.

Speaker 1

尤其是小时候,我比较内向,话也不多。

And especially when I was younger, I was more shy and, like, quiet.

Speaker 1

我都想不通我爸妈是怎么知道该请谁的。

I don't even know how my parents knew who to invite.

Speaker 1

那些事我一点都记不起来了。

I don't remember any of that.

Speaker 1

他们到底是怎么定的客人名单?

How did they come up with the guest list?

Speaker 1

或者我那时候其实也提过一些建议。

Or I must have given some sort of input.

Speaker 1

但我记得,不止这一次,他们经常把我的各个朋友圈子都混在一起办生日派对。

But I remember there were, like, some birthday parties, not just this one, where they would mix all of my friend groups.

Speaker 1

比如以前学校的同学、新学校的同学、家里的朋友、教会小组的朋友,全都在一起。

So then friends from my old school, friends from my new school, like, my family friends, my church group friends.

Speaker 1

我记得那时候感觉特别吵闹,

And I remember feeling overstimulated by

Speaker 0

我也是。

that too.

Speaker 0

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 0

这也太夸张了吧,哥们。

That's crazy, dude.

Speaker 0

你爸妈简直在盯着你交的朋友。

Your parents were, like, keeping tabs on your friends.

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我记得那时候我

I remember when I

Speaker 0

小时候,流行的做法就是只请班上的同学,因为每天见面的也就是他们,朋友也多半在班里,所以就只邀请班上某些人。

was younger, the trend was, like, you just invite your class because that's usually who you see every day and that's, like, Or usually where your friends you just invite certain people in your class.

Speaker 0

我依稀记得当时就是这样的。

That's like how I vaguely remember it.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我觉得我当时可能也挺讲究的,你知道的,我就喜欢搞那种专属的、高端的派对。

I think I was probably too, like, you know I like to run at exclusive CEO.

Speaker 0

听起来是个很棒的生日派对啊。

Sounds like a great birthday though.

Speaker 0

我其实也记得,以前在麦当劳办过生日派对。

I actually also remember doing birthday parties at McDonald's.

Speaker 0

哇哦。

Woah.

Speaker 0

我不确定这里有没有这事儿,但那时候麦当劳还设有儿童游乐区。

I don't know if this was a thing here, but because I think this was back when, like, McDonald's still had their playpens.

Speaker 0

那时候办生日派对,这可是个特别划算的选择。

It was, like, a very affordable way to have a birthday.

Speaker 0

你只要跟麦当劳说想给孩子办个生日派对,他们就会安排好。

You could tell McDonald's that you wanted to have a birthday there, like a little kid's birthday.

Speaker 0

每个人都能拿到一份开心乐园餐,最后还会推出来一个蛋糕。

And then I think everyone got a happy meal, and then they brought out a cake at the end.

Speaker 1

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 1

这也太暖心了吧。

That's so cute.

Speaker 1

我现在认识的很多成年人,估计都会喜欢这样的生日派对。

I feel like I know a lot of adults now who would enjoy this birthday party.

Speaker 0

你懂我的意思吧?

You know what I mean?

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

但我从来不记得自己去过麦当劳那样的派对。

But I don't think I ever went to one of the McDonald's ones.

Speaker 1

不过我记得那时候很多人都会去 Chuck E. Cheese。

But I do remember that people used to go to Chuck E.

Speaker 1

或者在湾区本地,有个地方叫 The Jungle。

Cheese or in the Bay Area locally, there is something called the jungle.

Speaker 1

那 basically 就是个超大的攀爬游乐场,特别好玩。

And it was basically like a huge jungle gym obstacle course thing, which was really fun.

Speaker 0

听起来真有意思。

That sounds really fun.

Speaker 0

哦,你还记得吗?那时候去看电影,他们还会给你一个单独的小房间,可以放东西、吃蛋糕和零食,然后再进影院看电影。

Oh, do you also remember you could go to the movies and then they would have, like, a little room that you could put all your stuff in and eat cake and food in, and then you would go into the theater to watch the movie.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

没错。

Totally.

Speaker 0

就是后面的房间。

Like, the backroom.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

老兄,我现在在想,电影院是不是还保留着那个房间。

Dude, now I wonder if the theaters still have that room.

Speaker 1

其实我几个月前刚去过一次电影院。

You know, I actually went to the movies maybe, like, a couple months ago.

Speaker 1

然后有一大群孩子,大概二十个吧,全挤在 arcade 区域里。

And then there was a huge group of 20 kids, like, stuffed into the arcade area Oh.

Speaker 1

就是你进门时要经过的那个地方。

That you pass by, like, on the way in.

Speaker 1

我

And I

Speaker 0

我当时心想,天哪。

was like, oh my god.

Speaker 0

这肯定是

This must

Speaker 1

一场生日派对。

be a birthday party.

Speaker 1

真可爱。

How cute.

Speaker 1

我记得看到那些孩子时,觉得他们看起来好小。

I remember seeing the kids and thinking they looked so small.

Speaker 1

但当你还是孩子的时候,去电影院什么的,根本不会觉得自己小,对吧?

But when you're a kid and you're, like, at the theater and stuff, you don't feel small, you know?

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你肯定

You definitely

Speaker 1

感觉很正常。

feel normal.

Speaker 1

我还记得我办过的一次生日派对。

I also remember one of the birthday parties that I did.

Speaker 1

那应该是在高中时候。

This must have been in high school.

Speaker 1

我让爸妈带我们去玩激光枪战。

I had my parents take us to, like, laser tag.

Speaker 1

哦。

Oh.

Speaker 1

之后我们又在家开了通宵派对。

And then we did a sleepover at our place afterwards.

Speaker 1

哦,那场面可真大。

Oh, that was so big.

Speaker 1

现在想想,通宵派对在生日派对里可是个重要环节。

This is a huge component of birthday parties now that I think about Sleepover.

Speaker 0

哦,你那时候是经常有人来你家过夜,还是你经常去别人家过夜?

Oh, did you have a lot of people sleepover, or did you sleep over at other people's place a lot?

Speaker 1

我觉得从初中、高中开始,我们就开始更频繁地搞过夜聚会了。

I think starting, like, middle school, high school, yeah, we would do sleepovers more often.

Speaker 1

但不知道为什么,小时候反而很少搞过夜,这感觉有点反常。

But for some reason, when we were kids, sleepovers were a little bit less common, which feels almost backwards.

Speaker 1

也许我爸妈觉得,等我们大一点、能自己照顾自己了,才更放心让我们过夜。

But maybe my parents just felt safer doing sleepovers once we were slightly older and able to take care of ourselves.

Speaker 0

天啊,我小时候根本不准去别人家过夜。

Dude, I actually was, like, not allowed to sleep over.

Speaker 1

真的吗?

Woah.

Speaker 1

一点都不行?

At all?

Speaker 0

对啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

除非是家人,或者我父母特别熟的朋友家。

Unless unless it was, like, family or a friend where my parents knew the parents really well.

Speaker 1

确实如此。

That's true.

Speaker 1

作为家长,我能理解,把孩子送到陌生人家里,确实让人特别紧张。

I mean, as a parent, I can see how that's, like, super nerve wracking to kind of send your kid off to a stranger's place.

Speaker 1

但你知道,我父母对我所有朋友都挺熟悉的。

But, like, you know, my parents knew my entire friend group.

Speaker 0

所以我觉得,大部分时候他们还是觉得没问题的。

So I think for the most part, they were like, I think it's fine.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我记得那时候还觉得,这不公平啊。

I remember being like, that's not fair, though.

Speaker 0

这可是特别要好的朋友。

This is a really good friend.

Speaker 0

这根本就不是问题。

There's literally no issue here.

Speaker 0

但他们说,不行。

And they're like, nah.

Speaker 0

其实我小时候跟邻居特别熟。

I think, actually, when I was growing up, I was really close with my neighbors.

Speaker 0

所以有几次,我爸妈同意我留宿。

So there was a couple times where my parents were okay with sleepovers.

Speaker 0

但后来搬家了,上了初中和高中,我爸妈跟新交的朋友见面机会就少了。

But then I think, like, in junior high and high school after moving, my parents didn't have as much FaceTime with these kids that I was becoming friends with.

Speaker 0

跟那些孩子的父母也接触得更少了。

So they had less FaceTime with the parents as well.

Speaker 0

所以他们就变得谨慎多了。

So they were, like, a little more cautious.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

这倒说得通。

That makes sense.

Speaker 1

不过我很喜欢他们让你去邻居家玩,这一点真好。

I love how they were okay with you going over to the neighbor's place, though.

Speaker 1

至少最坏的情况,我也在旁边看着。

They're like, at least worst case, I'm right here.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我觉得那时候他们和邻居们也更常联系,因为至少在那些年,邻居们年纪都差不多。

I think they also had a lot more FaceTime with them because at least in those years, my neighbors were age.

Speaker 0

我们几乎每天放学后都一起玩,大人们就在旁边聊天,看着我们。

We would play a lot together, like, almost every day after school, and then the parents would just chat and watch us, I guess.

Speaker 1

你们平时都玩些什么?

What would you guys play?

Speaker 0

我们打篮球、玩街头曲棍球、捉迷藏。

We would play, like, basketball, street hockey, tag.

Speaker 0

有时候我们就只是到处乱跑。

Sometimes we're just, like, running around.

Speaker 0

我也不太清楚。

I don't know.

Speaker 1

哇哦。

Wow.

Speaker 1

你们小时候真是特别活泼。

You guys are such active kids.

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我现在偶尔也会想玩捉迷藏。

I do sometimes get the urge to play tag nowadays.

Speaker 1

最近我朋友过生日,我们在公园办了个派对。

Recently, we did a birthday party for my friend at a park.

Speaker 1

邀请函上还说,带点适合户外玩的游戏。

In the invite, was like, oh, bring some games that we could play outside.

Speaker 1

大伙儿一起玩点团体游戏什么的,挺有意思的。

Big group games or anything like that could be fun.

Speaker 1

到了公园后,我就想,要不要玩捉迷藏?

And then once we got to the park, I was like, should we play tag?

Speaker 1

我没好意思说出来,毕竟不是每个人都想大跑大跳、追来追去的。

I didn't wanna bring it up out loud because I feel like not everyone wants to like run around and chase each other Mhmm.

Speaker 1

现在我们都三十岁了。

Now that we're like 30.

Speaker 0

哦,等等。

Oh, wait.

Speaker 0

这事是最近发生的吧?

This was recently.

Speaker 0

我还以为你小时候玩过呢。

I thought you did,

Speaker 1

像你小时候那样。

like, when you were kids.

Speaker 1

没有。

No.

Speaker 1

就是两周前的事。

This was, like, two weeks ago.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 0

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 0

那你有没有开口提议玩捉迷藏呢?

So did you ever speak up and and suggest tag?

Speaker 1

没有。

No.

Speaker 1

没提。

No.

Speaker 1

我太害羞了。

I was too shy.

Speaker 1

我觉得有人带了个更安静、更酷的户外活动,比如走扁带。

I think someone brought, like, a more contained, cool outdoor activity, like slacklining.

Speaker 0

哦,这样啊。

Oh, okay.

Speaker 1

于是那就成了我们主要的活动。

So then that became, like, our main focal point.

Speaker 1

但在回家的路上,我心想,真该死。

But on the way home, I was like, damn.

Speaker 1

我早该提出来玩捉迷藏的。

I should have brought up we should play tag.

Speaker 1

那样的话,

Like, it could have

Speaker 0

肯定会特别好玩。

been so fun.

Speaker 0

老兄,确实如此。

Dude, yeah.

Speaker 0

捉迷藏的玩法可多了。

And there's so many variations of tag too.

Speaker 1

对。

Yes.

Speaker 1

冰冻。

Freeze.

Speaker 1

我觉得冰冻不错。

I think freeze.

Speaker 1

没错。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

冰冻是最棒的。

Freeze is the best one.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yes.

Speaker 0

还有那种像警察抓小偷的游戏。

And then also the one that's like cops and robbers or something.

Speaker 0

哦。

Oh.

Speaker 0

那种玩法是分成两队。

That one is like there's two teams.

Speaker 0

你拍到谁,谁就加入你的队伍。

When you tag someone, they join your team.

Speaker 0

然后你就想办法让尽可能多的人加入你的队。

And then you're trying to, like, get the most people on your team.

Speaker 1

等一下。

Wait.

Speaker 1

这听起来挺有意思的。

That sounds fun.

Speaker 1

我们要不要玩一把?

Should we play?

Speaker 1

好啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我当时也在想,等等。

I was also like, wait.

Speaker 1

我们现在已经完全不玩热岩浆怪这个游戏了。

We just straight up don't play hot lava monster anymore.

Speaker 1

那游戏真的特别好玩。

That shit was so fun.

Speaker 0

街道玩捉人也很合适,因为可以躲在车后面之类的。

Also, streets are good for tag because then you can hide behind cars and stuff.

Speaker 1

说得对。

That's true.

Speaker 0

在公园里,可以躲在树后面。

In the parks, you could hide behind trees.

Speaker 0

还是挺不错的。

It's still pretty good.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我觉得我们小时候,上初中之前,生日过得特别有创意。

So I totally feel like when we were kids, pre ju pre high school, birthdays were just so much more creative.

Speaker 0

现在我在想,是不是因为父母的缘故。

And now I'm wondering if it's because of parents.

Speaker 0

他们总能想出特别棒的点子。

They had great ideas for us.

Speaker 0

父母那时候会给孩子们安排好多有趣的生日活动。

Like, parents came up with a bunch of great ideas for your birthdays.

Speaker 0

总的来说,那时候更注重玩儿点活动。

I feel like in general, it was maybe more activity focused.

Speaker 0

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

比如充气城堡、看电影,或者在外面玩儿。

Like bounce houses, watching movies, you know, playing outside.

Speaker 0

我觉得从高中到大学这段时间,生日就完全失去了创意。

I feel like somewhere in like high school and college, birthdays just lost all creativity.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

生日派对不知怎么就变成了拼命喝酒。

Birthday parties somehow devolved into, like, getting extremely drunk.

Speaker 1

对很多人来说,除非你不怎么喝酒,不然我觉得偶尔还是会搞点有创意的活动。

For a lot of people's birthdays, unless you don't really drink that much, then I feel like sometimes they would do a more creative activity.

Speaker 1

但总的来说,我觉得核心活动就是喝酒。

But for the most part, I felt like the focal activity was drinking.

Speaker 1

唯一变的只是场合——在哪办,还有主题和穿搭。

And then the only thing that changes is like the setting, like where you do it and then the theme, like the outfit Yes.

Speaker 1

那天的整体氛围。

Vibe of that day.

Speaker 0

我们玩的游戏也只剩下了喝酒游戏。

And the only games we're playing is, like, drinking games.

Speaker 1

而且我觉得,过21岁生日时的那种兴奋感也有关系。

And I think it comes with, like, the excitement of turning 21 too.

Speaker 1

能合法喝酒,这感觉还挺酷的。

It's kind of cool to be able to drink.

Speaker 1

有一阵子,要么就是在家办派对,要么就打扮一番,挨个酒吧逛一逛之类的。

And for a while, it was either, like, house parties or, you know, dressing up and going out to bar hop and stuff like that.

Speaker 1

但那种过生日的方式,确实占了四五年的时间。

But that really did take up, like, four or five years of birthday partying.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Dude, right?

Speaker 0

我觉得在高中时,很多生日派对我们都不再出去做活动了。

And I think in high school, a lot of birthday parties, we didn't, like, go out anymore as in do activities.

Speaker 0

你朋友是不是也这样?有时候有人会说,今年我生日要搞点格调。

Tell me if your friends did the same, but sometimes what we did was someone would be like, I want to be fancy this year for my birthday party.

Speaker 0

于是大家都穿得正式点,一起去桑塔纳路的马里亚诺餐厅吃一顿。

So everyone dress up and we're gonna go to like Maggiano's at like Santana Row.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

然后我们就去吃一顿精致的意大利面大餐。

And then we're gonna like eat a nice pasta meal.

Speaker 0

我脑子里现在还留着一幅画面,是我和我的几个女朋友,我觉得那会儿

Bro, I have this picture in my mind where me and my girlfriends I think

Speaker 1

那是我生日。

it was my birthday.

Speaker 1

我们决定要打扮得正式一点,出去庆祝。

We were like, we have to dress up and go out.

Speaker 1

于是我们都穿上漂亮的裙子,踩上高跟鞋,她们还给我弄了条羽毛围脖和一顶小王冠。

And then we all put on our nice dresses and our heels, and then they got me, like, a feather boa and like a tiara.

Speaker 1

然后我们就去了Maggiano's,我记得是那儿。

And then we went out to Maggiano's, I think.

Speaker 0

老天,这简直太像青少年干的事了。

Dude, that's like such a, I feel like, teenager thing.

Speaker 0

是的

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

因为那时候我们觉得自己一下子变老了,特别成熟,毕竟自己跟大人一起出门,穿得整整齐齐,吃顿高档晚餐。

Because then we feel so much older and like so much more mature because we're out with the adults by ourselves and, like, all dressed up and having, like, a fancy dinner.

Speaker 1

对

Yes.

Speaker 1

尤其是穿上高跟鞋、正式服装的时候,那时候真觉得特别有大人样。

And some especially, like, putting on heels and, like, formal wear felt so grown up back then.

Speaker 1

但后来长大了才发现,湾区的大人们平时穿的都是运动鞋,还有人穿着人字拖到处走。

But then you grow up and you realize the adults in the Bay Area are wearing, like, sneakers and, like, pedagogia all the time.

Speaker 0

我得说实话。

I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 0

自从高中那次生日聚餐后,我就再没去过那家餐厅了。

I haven't been to that restaurant since, like, a birthday party in high school.

Speaker 0

所以我根本不知道现在那里到底有什么着装要求。

So I don't even know what the actual dress code is there.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

想象一下,所有人都穿着牛仔裤之类的。

Imagine everyone is just wearing like jeans and shit.

Speaker 1

只有青少年穿着裙子。

It's only the teenagers wearing dresses.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

但我觉得除此之外,很多生日派对最后都变成了就在我家待着,比如一起看电影或者玩玩游戏。

But I think beyond that, a lot of the birthday parties did also end up being just like, oh, let's hang out at my place and like, I don't know, watch a movie or play some games.

Speaker 0

也许可以说,变得没那么有创意了。

It became a little less creative maybe is the right word.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我觉得我高中那群朋友,整个高中时期都还一直努力保持着那些有趣的活动。

I think my high school friend group through high school, we still kind of tried to keep up, like, the fun activities and stuff.

Speaker 1

我前面提到过,我们去玩过激光枪战。

I mentioned earlier, we went laser tagging.

Speaker 1

有一年我爸妈在后院搭了个帐篷,我们就就在自家后院露营。

And then there was one year where my parents set up a tent in our backyard, and then we, like, camped in our backyard.

Speaker 1

所以我们还是勉强保持着这些活动。

So we kinda still kept up with the activities.

Speaker 1

但确实,随着年纪增长,我觉得我们渐渐不再搞那些有趣的事了,更多就是放松、喝点酒。

But, yes, generally, as we aged, I felt like we stopped doing, like, the fun stuff, and then it became, like, relaxing or drinking.

Speaker 0

对,没错。

Like Oh, yeah.

Speaker 0

基本上就剩下这两种活动了。

Those were, like, the two activities, basically.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我想是不是因为我们长大了,也更累了,就不想再折腾什么太疯狂的计划了。

I wonder if it's because we got older and then we became a little more tired, so we didn't wanna plan anything too crazy.

Speaker 0

我们就想,算了。

And we're like, you know what?

Speaker 0

只要能一起待着,那就挺好。

As long as we hang out together, it's fine.

Speaker 1

我还在想,是不是因为别人帮你安排活动的时候,比如我们父母,他们旁观者的角度反而更容易看出我们这群人到底喜欢什么;而当你自己在给朋友策划时,反而容易陷在里面,看不清楚,不像外人看得那么全面。

I wonder if it's also, like, when someone else plans something for you, like our parents, for example, I feel like a third person's point of view is actually easier to pinpoint what exactly is fun for this group of people versus when you're in the thick of planning something for you and your friends, you might not be able to see it as clearly as the bird's eye point of view that a third person has.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

而且有时候自己操办生日派对,总会有点怀疑:大家真的愿意陪我做这些吗?

And then also, sometimes when you plan your own birthday party, I feel like you can have that feeling of, do people really wanna do all of this with me?

Speaker 1

你懂我的意思吧?

You know what I mean?

Speaker 1

比如,我真的要让每个人都开车二十分钟去圣何塞玩激光枪战,或者跑这儿跑那儿吗?

Like, am I really gonna make all of them drive twenty minutes to San Jose to, like, go to the laser tag place or, like, go here and do this?

Speaker 1

太费时间了。

It's gonna take so much time.

Speaker 1

我觉得,这种自我怀疑有时候会干扰我们策划大型活动的过程。

And I feel like these thoughts of self doubt sometimes can cloud the planning aspect of throwing something big or, like, throwing a big activity or something.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我完全同意。

I totally agree.

Speaker 0

我还想说,策划到一半的时候,你往往会开始怀疑自己。

I was also gonna say, like, at some points in the planning, you start to second guess yourself.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错。

For sure.

Speaker 1

因为这种活动确实要花不少时间。

Because it is like a big time commitment sometimes.

Speaker 1

明白。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

有时候办活动,花的钱还更多。

And sometimes with an activity, you have to pay more.

Speaker 1

我觉得以我们现在的年纪,得想想:这个生日派对到底自己掏钱还是...

And I think now, at our current age, there is the question of like, okay, am I gonna self fund this birthday party?

Speaker 1

要不要跟朋友们平摊一下费用之类的?

Or should I split some of the costs with our friends, etcetera?

Speaker 1

但真要做出决定,还挺纠结的。

But it can be kind of hard to, like, decide that.

Speaker 0

确实如此。

So true.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 0

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 0

这话说得太对了。

That is such a good point.

Speaker 0

我们小时候过生日,从来没人自己掏钱。

When we had birthday parties as kids, no one was footing the bill.

Speaker 0

都是父母买单。

It was the parents footing the bill.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

我敢说,从高中开始,我们就渐渐有了金钱意识。

I'm sure, like, starting in high school, we start to have a more awareness of money.

Speaker 0

所以后来办派对也不会那么大手大脚了。

So then we probably don't go as all out.

Speaker 0

总不可能去租个攀爬架之类的吧。

We're not gonna, like, rent out the jungle gym or whatever.

Speaker 0

而且我们也不确定大家会不会喜欢那种玩法。

We don't even know if everyone will enjoy that.

Speaker 0

现在我们都懂钱的重要了。

And now we're aware of money.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 1

当然。

For sure.

Speaker 1

哇。

Wow.

Speaker 1

其实也是。

Actually, yeah.

Speaker 1

我很好奇租整个攀爬架得花多少钱,毕竟我完全不知道父母得花多少预算才能办这种事。

I wonder how much renting out the jungle gym costs because I have, like, no clue what, you know, our parents have to budget to do something like that.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

不过我觉得高中是个挺特别的阶段,那时候大家开始赚钱了,生日出去吃饭,主角就能免单。

But I guess high school is kind of that weird point where I think there's some sort of turning point once we all start making money, where if we go out on your birthday, for example, then you, the birthday girl, gets your birthday meal comped.

Speaker 1

没错。

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1

然后我们其他人平摊费用。

And then, like, the rest of us split it.

Speaker 1

但我记不清是从什么时候开始这样的了。

But I can't remember when that started happening.

Speaker 1

是大学时候开始的,还是工作之后?

Was it college or was it when we were working?

Speaker 0

我觉得是从大学开始的,那时候每个人都有了自己的预算,不像高中那样。

I think it started more in college because then everyone kind of had their own budget more than in high school.

Speaker 0

但我觉得在高中时,我们其实也在努力这么做。

But I do feel like in high school, we tried to make it happen.

Speaker 0

通常都会发生,尤其是高中快毕业的时候。

Like, it usually kind of happened, especially towards the end of high school.

Speaker 0

哦。

Oh.

Speaker 0

我记得有一次去芝士工厂,我们大家一起帮过生日的女孩付了饭钱。

I remember going to Cheesecake Factory one time, and I think we all covered the birthday girls dinner.

Speaker 0

哦。

Oh.

Speaker 1

我也记不太清了。

I like can't remember.

Speaker 1

但我觉得,就像你说的,高中时我们手头都紧,所以大家要凑钱庆祝,可能确实有点难。

But I feel like we had, like you said, limited funds in high school, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was, like, hard for people to chip in money for Yeah.

Speaker 0

多一顿饭。

An extra meal.

Speaker 0

但我觉得真正有意思的是,现在我们都长大了,工作了,各自独立了,生日好像又开始流行起来了。

But actually, what I think is really interesting is that now that we're older, we're working, like, we're kind of our own persons now, I think birthdays are making a comeback.

Speaker 1

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

至少我觉得自己最近更愿意花心思,好好规划一下生日了。

Or at least I feel like I have been reinvigorated to maybe, like, have more intricate plans for birthdays.

Speaker 0

这种感觉,大概就是最近五年左右吧。

And I've felt that way, maybe in the recent five or so years.

Speaker 0

我刚想到另一个角度,不知道新冠是不是也起了点作用。

And another side thought that I just thought of right now, I wonder if, like, COVID also had a part in this.

Speaker 0

但不管怎样,我觉得现在我们长大了,稍微用心策划一下生日派对还挺有意思的。

But regardless, I think my bottom line is that it's kind of fun to, like, plan slightly more intricate parties now that we're older.

Speaker 1

哦。

Oh.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

其实新冠确实是个关键点,因为我们被剥夺了几年办盛大生日派对的机会。

Actually, COVID is a really good point because we were kind of robbed of a couple years of throwing, like, intricate big birthday parties.

Speaker 1

虽然我们之前说过,生日派对现在更多是找个理由聚一聚,但它毕竟还是个特别的日子。

And even though we talked about how birthday parties became, like, an excuse to party, like, it's still an occasion.

Speaker 1

没错。

So Yeah.

Speaker 1

也许正因为错过了几个生日,我们反而更想把现在的派对办得更大更好了。

Maybe the scarcity mindset of, like, we lost a couple of birthdays is leading us to throw bigger and better birthday parties.

Speaker 1

我完全同意。

But I totally agree.

Speaker 1

我觉得现在大家过生日都更爱搞些有创意的、不一样的,或者至少更盛大的庆祝方式。

I feel like people are doing more creative or, like, different or at least bigger things for their birthdays now.

Speaker 1

我几年前就注意到了,那时候我还挺惊讶的。

And I think I noticed it a couple years ago when I was like, woah.

Speaker 1

现在很多人选择去旅行过生日。

People are doing birthday trips more often.

Speaker 1

比如跑到另一个城市过个生日周末之类的,我觉得挺酷的,但策划起来也真是够折腾的。

A birthday weekend out in a different city or something like that, which I find very cool, but it's also just such a massive undertaking to plan.

Speaker 1

这本身就说明,大家愿意为生日花更大的心思和力气。

So I think that in itself shows that people are willing to do bigger things for their birthdays.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我想这可能也跟我们现在这个年纪有关,单身派对已经变得特别普遍了。

I wonder if part of it too is we're at an age where bachelorette parties and bachelor parties are so common.

展开剩余字幕(还有 480 条)
Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

大家都在参加这些活动,但不是每个人都会为自己办一场。

While everyone is, like, attending these things, not everyone is going to it for themselves.

Speaker 1

不是每个人都会给自己办单身派对。

Like, not everyone is throwing their own bachelorette bachelor party.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

所以我觉得,为重要时刻办大型派对已经变得很普遍了。

So then I think it's more normalized to, like, have a big party to celebrate something.

Speaker 1

于是生日派对也被纳入了值得搞一次长途旅行或盛大聚会的场合清单。

So then birthday parties are getting incorporated into the, like, occasion list of worth having a big trip for or, like, worth having a big party for.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我觉得这中间确实发生了一些变化。

I feel like there's been an evolution.

Speaker 0

上大学的时候,我们过生日就是聚一聚,喝点酒,玩得开心就行。

So, like, mentioned in college, a lot of our birthdays were, like, let's hang out and have a kickback, and then it, like, devolves into just, like, drinking and having a bunch of fun.

Speaker 0

但毕业后,情况有点变了,大家开始觉得,不如先吃顿饭再玩。

But then I think after college, like, it evolved a little bit where we're like, actually, let's get dinner first before we eat.

Speaker 1

你懂的。

You know?

Speaker 1

比如,先吃顿饭。

Like, Like, before

Speaker 0

然后再出去或者开个派对。

we go out slash have a house party.

Speaker 1

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

没错。

Right.

Speaker 0

现在呢,大家开始想出一些更有创意的方式,就像你刚才说的那样。

And then now it's evolving into, like, people are finding some more creative things like you mentioned.

Speaker 0

来吧,走吧。

Like, hey, let's go.

Speaker 0

我们有个朋友最近正计划去太浩湖玩一趟什么的。

One of our friends is planning, like, a Tahoe trip soon or something.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

还有我们另一个朋友,安排了一场特别有意思的K歌之夜,叫上我们所有人。

Or, like, one of our other friends, they plan, like, this really fun karaoke night for us all.

Speaker 0

所以啊,生日庆祝又慢慢加回了各种活动。

So it's just, like, the activities are getting inserted back into the birthdays.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我其实挺喜欢这样的,首先,我觉得咱们年纪大了,确实没法像以前那样疯玩了。

And I actually enjoy that because, one, I think now that we're older, we just can't party as hard anymore.

Speaker 1

现在身体条件也有限制,很多事情做不了了。

There's like physical limitations to what we can do now.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

其次,我觉得这样也更有弹性。

Two, it also allows for more flexibility, I think.

Speaker 1

要是每个生日派对都变成喝酒狂欢,那周末的早晨肯定惨不忍睹,周六晚上也永远排得满满的。

As in, if every birthday party was a drinking partying thing, then mornings would always suck on the weekends, and then we would always be busy, like, Saturday nights, basically.

Speaker 1

但现在我觉得时间安排上宽松了不少,我最近参加了一个生日派对。

But now I feel like there's a little bit more room where I went to a birthday party recently.

Speaker 1

就在周六上午和下午。

It was just Saturday morning and afternoon.

Speaker 1

然后周六晚上就完全空出来了。

And then Saturday evening was free.

Speaker 1

我当时简直不敢相信。

I was like, oh my god.

Speaker 1

能回家打扫屋子,做点别的事,这感觉太棒了。

Can, go home and clean the house and, like, do something, and this is amazing.

Speaker 0

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

近几年你参加过最有创意的生日派对是什么样的?

What is, like, the most creative birthday party you've been to in recent years?

Speaker 1

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 1

我想到两个例子。

So there's two that come to mind.

Speaker 1

而且这两个派对的氛围其实挺像的。

And actually, both of them are, like, sort of similar vibes.

Speaker 1

最近我参加了一个生日派对,早上大家一起去摘浆果。

Recently, I went to a birthday party where we went berry picking in the morning.

Speaker 1

之后我们一起去公园了。

Afterwards, we all went to the park.

Speaker 1

玩了会儿高空绳索,还野餐了一顿。

We did a little bit of, like, slacklining and had a picnic.

Speaker 1

他们请了餐饮服务,大家又各自带了些小吃。

They had catered some food, and then people brought snacks.

Speaker 1

我们就一边吃一边聊天,特别开心。

So we just, like, ate and chatted, and that was really fun.

Speaker 0

就是那个你忍着没玩捉迷藏的派对吗?

So that's the one where you held in your urge to play tag?

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 1

这让我想起一两年前,有个朋友在公园办生日派对,还搞了个好市多主题的问答游戏。

It reminded me of maybe one or two years ago, one of our friends threw a birthday party at a park, and then they had a Costco themed trivia.

Speaker 1

我觉得那个也特别有意思。

And I thought that was also really fun.

Speaker 1

大家还带了像 Spikeball 这样的游戏道具。

And people brought, like, spike ball and stuff.

Speaker 1

我记得当时心想,天啊。

I remember thinking, like, wow.

Speaker 1

这真是太温馨了。

This is so wholesome.

Speaker 1

大家想喝的话可以喝,但并不是重点。

And people can drink if they want to, but it's not the main focal point.

Speaker 1

所以在金门公园里待着,感觉特别舒服。

So it's just nice being outside at Golden Gate Park.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

那次真的特别有意思。

That one was such a fun one.

Speaker 0

Costco知识问答。

Costco trivia.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我最近还参加了一个特别有意思的,像是个晚宴派对。

I also went to one that was pretty fun recently where it was like a dinner party.

Speaker 0

晚宴上有个活动是让人帮你抽塔罗牌。

One of the activities within the dinner party was getting your tarot cards read.

Speaker 1

哇,这太棒了。

Oh, that's so cool.

Speaker 0

大家就是随便聊聊,吃吃饭。

So you just mingle, have dinner.

Speaker 0

而且氛围还挺有格调的,我觉得。

And it was, like, kind of elevated vibes too, I guess.

Speaker 0

不是那种光顾着喝酒的邋遢饭局。

Not just, like, degenerate, like, dinner drinking.

Speaker 0

我们吃的东西还挺精致的。

We got some nice food.

Speaker 0

大家都端着杯葡萄酒,随便走走,互相聊聊。

Everyone enjoy a glass of wine and just, like, walk around and mingle.

Speaker 0

轮到你的时候,就可以去抽塔罗牌了。

And then when it's your turn, you can go get your cards read.

Speaker 1

哇哦。

Woah.

Speaker 1

这真不错。

That's very nice.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

那也挺有意思的。

So that was also a fun one.

Speaker 1

感觉特别像洛杉矶那种好莱坞派对。

That feels kind of like an LA, like, Hollywood party.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

其实我完全明白你的意思。

Actually, I totally get what you mean.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

几年前我也参加过一次,我们先去打保龄球,然后吃了些卷饼之类的东西,之后又去她家闲聊。

I also went to one couple years ago where we went bowling, and then we got, like, burritos or something and then hung out at her place afterwards.

Speaker 1

那让我一下子想起了童年。

And it kind of took me back to childhood.

Speaker 1

像打保龄球这样的活动,我其实打得不好,但还是能激起一种竞争的劲头,你懂吧?

There's something about going out and doing an activity where something like bowling, I'm not even good, but then I feel like it still stirs up, competitive energy, you know?

Speaker 1

就算我球老往沟里掉,照样跟别人斗嘴打趣。

So as I was throwing my balls into the gutter and shit, was still talking smack with people.

Speaker 1

就是这种特别纯真、像孩子一样的快乐。

It's just like very wholesome, childlike fun.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我没去参加过,但我记得有人发过帖子,说他们被邀请去一个租下的蹦床乐园过生日。

I didn't go to this one, but I remember seeing someone posting about a birthday they were invited to where they rented out, like, a trampoline house.

Speaker 1

哦。

Oh.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我不清楚正式叫什么名字。

I don't know what the official name is.

Speaker 0

我就管它叫蹦床乐园吧。

I'm just gonna call it a trampoline house.

Speaker 0

看着特别有意思。

But it looked really fun.

Speaker 0

我当时就想,天哪。

And I was like, oh my god.

Speaker 0

这又勾起了童年的感觉。

That's, like, bringing back the childhood aspect again.

Speaker 0

没错。

And Yeah.

Speaker 0

而且提醒自己,作为成年人也照样能享受这些乐趣。

And, like, reminding yourself you can still enjoy these things as an adult.

Speaker 1

话是这么说,但你真能行吗?

Dude, but can you?

Speaker 1

说实话,我怕我的膝盖再也扛不住这么折腾了。

Like, I don't know if my knees can handle all that anymore.

Speaker 0

但那玩意儿有弹性啊。

Dude, but they're they're bouncy.

Speaker 0

它能缓冲冲击力的。

Like, they'll absorb the shock.

Speaker 1

嗯,这倒也是。

I guess that's true.

Speaker 1

我看过太多TikTok视频了,那些蹦床之间还有硬邦邦的支撑架,特别容易磕着。

I've seen too many, like, TikTok videos where between the bouncy trampolines, there's, like, the hard parts that kind of, like, have the support beams.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我看过太多视频了,大人一不小心跳上去,膝盖直接垮掉,摔得可惨了。

I've seen too many videos where adults accidentally jump on it, and then their, like, knees crumble and they just eat shit.

Speaker 1

我肯定也会这样,我本来就笨手笨脚的。

And I'm like, I would totally do that because I'm not coordinated.

Speaker 0

好吧。

Okay.

Speaker 0

咱们换点话题,聊聊你平时是怎么做个人规划的。

I want to move on and talk more about our personal planning processes.

Speaker 0

第一个问题,你最近有没有试着给生日安排点新花样?还是说你还是觉得吃顿饭、聚一聚就挺好?

First question is do you feel like you've been trying to incorporate new ideas to birthdays recently, or have you felt really comfortable still with dinner and just hang?

Speaker 1

我最近确实在尝试一些新点子,也不确定是不是因为今年我们和朋友们都到了一个重要的生日年纪。

I think I have been trying to incorporate new ideas recently, and I don't know if it's because it's like a big birthday year for us and all of our friends this year.

Speaker 1

我们这一圈人今年全满三十岁了。

We're all turning 30.

Speaker 1

我最近一直有个念头,觉得这次生日派对得搞点特别的。

I've had this, like, urge slash thought that I need to make this birthday party really special.

Speaker 1

我脑子里冒出来几个点子,一直在琢磨。

And I had a couple of ideas that I was toying with.

Speaker 1

我想着,要不干脆在旧金山租条船吧?

One was I was like, dude, should I book a fucking boat or something in SF?

Speaker 1

让大家换个地方,直接在船上喝酒。

Have all of us move our, like, drinking to a boat.

Speaker 1

或者考虑包一辆像纳帕那种去酒庄的观光巴士。

Or I thought about maybe having, like, one of those buses that, like, take you around wineries in Napa.

Speaker 1

但最后我觉得,还是选个更温馨的方案吧,就这么定了。

But I think I settled with something even more wholesome than that, and I was like, okay.

Speaker 1

我打算订个普拉提工作室,组织一场轻松有趣的团体普拉提课。

I'm gonna book, like, a Pilates studio and have a little fun, like group Pilates session.

Speaker 1

然后我们再去附近的小啤酒厂吃点喝点,聊聊天,放松一下。

And then we can eat and like chat and hang out at like a little brewery afterwards.

Speaker 1

但总的来说,我的想法已经变了,现在聚会不再是重点了。

But generally, my thoughts have evolved to where like now partying is not the main focal point.

Speaker 1

我还是喜欢和朋友喝一杯、聊聊天,但那天和最在乎的人在一起,我不只想干这个。

Like I still enjoy grabbing a drink and like hanging out with friends, but it's not like the only thing I wanna do on that day with the people that I like the most.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

所以我觉得自己越来越注重活动本身了。

So I think I have become a little bit more activity first.

Speaker 1

另外,我也在想,既然今天是我的生日,不如做点我喜欢的事。

Also, I've had this thought of maybe since it's my birthday, I should do something that I enjoy.

Speaker 1

你懂我的意思吧?

You know what I mean?

Speaker 1

毕竟,这次我可以自己定行程。

Like, I get to be the one that sets the itinerary.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

我可以有一天稍微自私一点,希望我还是会选一些大家普遍喜欢、愿意参与的活动,但这一天我可以完全自己定行程。

And I can be semi selfish for one day, and hopefully, I'll still choose something that people generally like and wanna participate in, but it is kinda like the one day that I could set the entire itinerary.

Speaker 1

这其实也是我最近的一个新想法。

So that's also been a different thought.

Speaker 0

老兄,说得太对了。

Dude, that's so true.

Speaker 0

我觉得我也差不多,现在更看重活动本身了。

I think I'm similar where I've started thinking more about activities.

Speaker 0

没错。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

我想,是啊,我通常会先问自己:我到底想干什么?

I guess, yeah, I start out with, like, well, what do I want to do?

Speaker 0

你懂的。

You know?

Speaker 0

然后从那里开始,我会想,我的朋友们会喜欢这个吗?

And then from there, it's like, oh, well, will my friends enjoy this?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

这也不错,因为随着年纪增长,我们越来越清楚自己喜欢什么,朋友也特别了解我们。

It's nice too because as we get older, we just you know, we know what we like and our friends know us really well.

Speaker 1

我们总是愿意为朋友做点什么。

We're always willing to do stuff for our friends.

Speaker 1

所以我觉得,反过来也一样,朋友自然会回应我们。

So then I feel like you can kind of expect the reverse to happen as well.

Speaker 1

大家参加生日派对时,总是乐呵呵的,愿意参与其中。

People always show up to birthday parties willing to have a good time, like willing to participate.

Speaker 1

所以整体氛围通常都很棒,这让我做决定时更有安全感。

So the vibes are generally high, which does make me feel more safe in the decision making process.

Speaker 1

我觉得这样挺好。

I'm like, okay.

Speaker 1

希望大家都玩得开心,愿意参与进来。

People will hopefully have fun and be down to do this.

Speaker 0

从宾客的角度来看,我很期待参加一些活动,尤其是当这些活动是寿星喜欢的时候,因为这样就能和他一起体验。

I think from another perspective as a guest, I am excited to do an activity, especially if it's something that the birthday person likes to do because then you can experience it with them.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

而且说不定你最后也会喜欢上这些活动。

And then, you know, maybe you might end up liking it too.

Speaker 0

就算不喜欢,至少你也亲身感受了一次寿星最钟爱的东西。

And even if you don't, it's like, oh, well, I got to experience one of the birthday person's, like, favorite things.

Speaker 1

完全没错。

Totally.

Speaker 1

但今年我策划生日派对时,最难的是——明明离生日还有两个月,我居然已经规划了一半了。

But I will say the hard part for me in planning my birthday party this year, I love how I'm, like, already halfway through planning even though we're, like, two months out from my birthday.

Speaker 1

最难的地方在于,我想做的事实在太多了。

But the hard part, it was, like, I had so many different things that I wanted to do.

Speaker 1

等我把活动定下来,选了普拉提之后,我就想,哎,我还想打扮得漂漂亮亮的,出去玩玩, maybe 去夜店什么的,哇哦。

Once I whittled down the activity to like Pilates, I was thinking about it and I was like, I also wanna like dress up and go out and maybe go like clubbing or something or Woah.

Speaker 0

等等,我得先打断你一下。

Not even I'm gonna stop you right there.

Speaker 1

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 1

不好意思。

Sorry.

Speaker 1

我就是特别想打扮一下,就这么个念头。

The urge the main urge is to dress up Okay.

Speaker 1

穿条裙子,再踩双高跟鞋。

And like a dress and like heels.

Speaker 1

这感觉跟我16岁那年,带一群朋友去Maggiano's吃饭时一模一样。

It's the same urge from when I was turning 16 and I took all my friends to Maggiano's.

Speaker 1

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 1

另一个冲动就是去跳舞,我觉得这种地方最合适的还是夜店。

And the secondary urge is to, like, go dancing, which I feel like the main place that you can do that is a club.

Speaker 1

这里能穿裙子跳舞的地方真的太少了。

There's just not that many settings here where you can, like, wear a dress and dance.

Speaker 1

这地方不太可能

That's not at

Speaker 0

夜店。

a club.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

湾区的人实在太随意了。

Like, the Bay Area is just so casual.

Speaker 0

确实如此。

That's true.

Speaker 0

也许只有婚礼上可以?

Maybe like a wedding?

Speaker 1

糟了。

Shit.

Speaker 1

从实际操作来说,我根本没法做到,真的不行。

You're Logistically, I just there's no way I can be like, okay.

Speaker 1

去上普拉提课

Meet for Pilates

Speaker 0

然后还得换上裙子和高跟鞋出去。

and then dress up in a dress and heels when we're going out.

Speaker 0

天啊。

Dude.

Speaker 1

所以我只能选两个里更简单的一个。

So I had to pick the easier one of the two.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

那确实有点疯狂。

That would be kind of crazy.

Speaker 0

我得说实话。

I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 0

你知道,我们朋友也都清楚,我特别讨厌夜店。

Well, you know this and our friends know this, but I'm like a huge club hater.

Speaker 0

所以我不确定自己能不能撑到生日派对的后半段。

So I'm like, I don't know if I would make it to that part of the birthday party.

Speaker 0

但去练普拉提我肯定去。

But I'd be there for Pilates.

Speaker 1

没事的。

It's okay.

Speaker 1

今年咱们就轻松点吧。

We'll keep it chill this year.

Speaker 1

也许你说得有道理。

Maybe maybe you're right.

Speaker 1

也许我该把跳舞和穿漂亮衣服都留到婚礼上。

Maybe I save all my dancing and, like, my nice outfits for weddings.

Speaker 0

那咱们改天再去蹦迪吧。

We can go clubbing, I guess, some other day.

Speaker 0

我相信其他人会

I'm sure other people will

Speaker 1

想跟你一起去的。

wanna go with you.

Speaker 1

哥们,没戏的。

Dude, there's no shot.

Speaker 1

我就想,哎,咱们找个非生日的日子去蹦迪吧,结果你人没来。

I'm like, oh, guys, let's go clubbing on a non birthday and then you show up.

Speaker 1

我觉得除非是我生日,否则你大概率不会陪我去蹦迪。

I think I only have a chance of you coming into clubbing if it was my birthday.

Speaker 0

行。

Okay.

Speaker 0

我有个问题,你说你进度已经过半了,但离活动还有两个月呢。

I do have a question because you said you're halfway done planning, and it's, like, two months out.

Speaker 0

那你一般提前多久开始准备生日呢?

So how far in advance do you prepare for your birthday?

Speaker 1

我觉得这些年确实越来越不一样了。

I think this has definitely evolved over the years.

Speaker 1

我也得说,因为我生日在夏天,所以像现在这样,我开始更早地规划了。

I have to also say that it's because I'm a summer birthday, I've been trying to plan a little bit more in advance as you can see.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

首先,八月很多人都在旅行。

One, August is like a month where a lot of people are traveling.

Speaker 1

所以要把大家聚到一起特别难,尤其是我想让所有最亲近的朋友都来的时候。

So it can be really hard to get a lot of people in one place, especially if I want, like, all of my closest friends there.

Speaker 1

今年这个生日挺重要的。

It's a big birthday, like, this year.

Speaker 1

所以我必须提前很久就开始安排。

Then I just have to straight up plan, like, a lot in advance.

Speaker 1

而且每年都烦人的是,Outside Lands音乐节正好赶在我生日那周。

And also, it's so annoying, but every year, Outside Lands is on my birthday weekend.

Speaker 1

所以我得提前把各种安排都摸清楚。

So I have to, like, also just scope things out before.

Speaker 1

是的。

So Yeah.

Speaker 1

今年我就干脆提前一周办生日活动,当时我就想,好吧。

This year, for example, I'm, like, doing my birthday thing a week before my actual birthday weekend, and I was like, okay.

Speaker 1

这大概是让我能凑齐最多人到场的唯一办法了。

This is just gonna be the only way that I get max attendance, basically.

Speaker 1

所以这次我得提前两个半月就开始准备。

So two and a half months is how far

Speaker 0

今年我就是这么提前安排的。

in advance I'm gonna take this year.

Speaker 0

确实挺早的,不过也合理,毕竟现在大家更看重活动体验,得提前跟普拉提馆协调场地、时间,诸如此类的事情。

That's pretty I think that's pretty early, but it also makes sense because as we become more activity focused, you do have to, like, coordinate with, for example, a Pilates studio and make sure that you're able to get the room for the time and all of that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我觉得如果我办的是没那么正式的活动,就不需要提前这么早就规划了。

I think if I was doing something a little bit more casual, then I wouldn't have to plan this much in advance.

Speaker 1

不过,就像你说的,比如普拉提,我手头的复健机数量是固定的。

But, yeah, like you said, Pilates, for example, I have a set number of reformers.

Speaker 1

我只想确保别租了个大场地,结果只有六个人来参加。

I just wanna make sure that I'm not gonna book, like, a big reformer studio and then only have six people be able to show up.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

话说回来,我觉得我们今年或者去年提过,咱们俩的生日都碰上音乐节了。

Dude, also, side note, I think we mentioned this this year or last year, but we both have festival birthdays.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 0

你说得对。

You're right.

Speaker 1

科切拉和户外镜头,这两个对湾区的人来说是最主要的。

Coachella and outside lens, like the two biggest ones for Bay Area people Yeah.

Speaker 0

不过说实话,你这次提前规划真的挺好,因为我今年完全拖到最后一刻。

So actually, I feel like it's good though that you plan ahead of time this time because I totally procrastinated on mine this year.

Speaker 0

当然,最后也还行。

Like, it ended up being fine, of course.

Speaker 0

但我有些想法没法在播客里说,因为以后可能还会用。

But I think there were some ideas that I had that I can't reveal on the pod because I might still use them in the future.

Speaker 0

其实我原本有不少更复杂的计划,是真想做的。

But there were some ideas that I had that were definitely more intricate that I did want to do.

Speaker 0

但我自己都记不清当时忙什么了,就感觉天哪。

But because I was I don't even remember what I was busy with, but I was like, oh my god.

Speaker 0

现在实在没心思管这个。

I can't think about this right now.

Speaker 0

所以干脆就没提前安排。

So I just didn't plan ahead.

Speaker 0

所以那些想法我都没能实现,最后就搞了个特别随意的活动。

So I couldn't do those ideas, and I ended up doing a much more casual thing.

Speaker 0

还有一些重要的人,可惜没能来成。

And there were some important faces that sadly couldn't make it.

Speaker 0

对啊。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

不过你的活动还是特别有意思。

Your thing was still super fun, though.

Speaker 1

简直像是一次校外郊游,因为去的是我从来没去过的地方。

It almost felt like a field trip because it was in a city that I never go to.

Speaker 1

我当时就想,天哪。

And I was like, oh my god.

Speaker 1

原来这个地方长这样啊。

This is what this place looks like.

Speaker 0

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 0

这话说得对。

That's so true.

Speaker 0

我让大家都去了一个我们平时根本不会去的城市。

I made everyone go to a city that we almost never hang out in.

Speaker 1

我当时就想,哇。

I was like, woah.

Speaker 0

不过,确实这是我一个遗憾。

But, yeah, that's a regret of mine.

Speaker 0

我心想,糟了。

I'm like, shoot.

Speaker 0

要是我提前两个月规划好,就能把真正想做的那个大胆项目彻底实现。

If I had just planned maybe, like, two months in advance, then I could have fully done what I really wanted to do, an ambitious project.

Speaker 0

也许明年吧。

Maybe next year.

Speaker 1

我觉得生日安排的时间点其实有个挺合适的窗口。

I guess there is sort of a sweet spot in terms of timelines for birthday planning.

Speaker 1

我一想,圣诞节出生的人通常会提前两个月就开始筹备,因为他们情况更糟。

If I think about it, I think December babies actually plan their birthday party about two months in advance often because they have it even worse.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

感觉不是所有人都能赶在假期回来。

Like, I feel like not everyone is back for the holidays.

Speaker 1

很多人寒假期间都会出门旅行。

A lot of people travel over winter break.

Speaker 1

他们往往很早就开始打听和物色安排了。

They start to, like, scope things out pretty early.

Speaker 1

所以综合来看,虽然咱们是节日出生的,但生日倒也没那么难办。

So I guess all things considered, even though we're festival babies, like, our birthdays are probably not that bad.

Speaker 1

不过今年我提前这么久 planning,觉得特别搞笑的是,我五月底就开始琢磨、试探大家的空闲时间了。

But something that I thought was so funny planning this much in advance this year was I started basically planning and, like, putting out feelers end of May Mhmm.

Speaker 1

这对于八月初的生日派对来说,也太早了吧。

Which is really, really early for an early August birthday party, obviously.

Speaker 1

你可以想象,我和五月之间还有不少人生日呢。

And there's, as you can imagine, a lot of people that have birthdays between mine and end of May.

Speaker 1

比如所有七月出生的、六月出生的,等等。

Like, all the July babies, all the June babies, etcetera.

Speaker 1

我因为提前太久就开始筹备生日派对,结果反倒带动了其他人也开始计划,至少他们开始公布自己的生日日期,预留时间了。

I feel like because I was planning my birthday party so far in advance, it, like, kick started a lot of other people's planning or at the very least had them start to, like, put out information about their birthdays and, like, block dates for it.

Speaker 1

我给几个人发消息问‘那天有空吗?’,大概就隔了一两天。

I think literally a day or two after I messaged a couple people like, oh, are you free this day?

Speaker 1

我说我要办个生日聚会什么的。

Like, I'm gonna do a birthday thing blah blah blah.

Speaker 1

他们也立马发了消息或者在Facebook上通知了。

They also sent out their particles or, like, their Facebook messages.

Speaker 1

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 1

好了,各位。

Okay, guys.

Speaker 1

把这个日子留出来。

Block this day.

Speaker 0

这太有意思了。

That's so funny.

Speaker 0

这对他们来说挺好的。

This is good for them.

Speaker 0

你这是在提醒他们别忘了。

You're you're you're keeping them in check.

Speaker 0

我完全没意识到这一点,但你这么一说,对,我们有个朋友刚发消息说,看看这两个周末哪个时间更适合大家。

I totally didn't make that connection, but now that you mentioned it, yeah, one of our friends sent out the, hey, like, let me know which of these two weekends works best for you all.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

他当时就说,哎,我也该开始发通知了。

He was like, oh, I should start sending out my stuff too.

Speaker 1

我当时就想,行吧。

I was like, okay.

Speaker 0

去吧。

Go for it.

Speaker 1

你之前提到过要预定场地的事儿。

I think when you mentioned earlier of, like, having to book places.

Speaker 1

比如我这边是普拉提工作室,朋友那边则是Airbnb。

So in my case, like the Pilates studio or in our friend's case, like an Airbnb.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

这些事儿真的挺关键的。

These things do play such a big factor.

Speaker 1

不仅影响时间安排,说实话,费用方面也挺重要的。

And not only does it play a factor into the timelines, but honestly, the money aspect does kind of play into it too.

Speaker 1

你打算自己承担生日派对的多少开销,又让朋友们分担多少呢?

How much of your birthday party do you cover versus how much do you allow your friends to kind of spend money on it?

Speaker 1

这确实有点让人头疼。

And it can be kind of, I don't know, challenging.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我同意。

I agree.

Speaker 0

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 0

而且这种变化挺有意思的,我们之前聊过,大家通常会主动为寿星付餐费或饮料钱。

Also, it's such an interesting evolution because we talked about earlier how we would try to cover for the birthday person's meal or some drinks or something.

Speaker 0

但现在情况变了,寿星本人反而开始想:我是不是该为所有人买单?

But now that we're evolving, the host, the birthday person is thinking more about, like, oh, should I be covering everyone else?

Speaker 1

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

这真是个挺有意思的小反转。

It's kind of a funny little, like, flip situation.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

确实如此。

It's so true.

Speaker 1

我觉得,如果你在一段关系中,比如,伴侣该承担多少,自己又该承担多少,这也是个问题。

I think there's also an aspect of if you're in a relationship, for example, how much does your SO cover versus yourself?

Speaker 0

哇。

Woah.

Speaker 0

我从来没想过这一点。

Never thought about that.

Speaker 0

马上就要给男朋友发个Venmo账单了。

About to hit your boyfriend with a Venmo request.

Speaker 1

不过,我觉得这确实值得考虑。

But, yeah, I think it's, like, something to consider for sure.

Speaker 1

而且,就像你说的,这样挺好的。

And I guess, like you said, it's nice.

Speaker 1

能考虑要不要今年为自己花上几百块过生日,这其实是一种特权,对吧?

It's, like, a privilege, right, to be able to consider, like, oh, do I wanna drop a couple $100 for my own birthday this year?

Speaker 1

而且能想到‘嗯,确实如此’,这也是一种特权。

And it's also a privilege to think, like, oh, yeah.

Speaker 1

我的朋友们大概愿意每人出一定金额,来分担一些活动开销。

My friends are probably down to spend up to, like, x amount per person to cover, like, some of the activity cost.

Speaker 1

但我总是觉得,找人收钱为我过生日,特别不好意思,也很尴尬。

But, yeah, I always feel really bad slash awkward charging people for, like, my birthday things.

Speaker 0

我之前问过一些人,发现大家通常都挺乐意凑份子的,尤其是大型庆祝活动。

What I've noticed, because I've surveyed some people before, is that usually people are pretty down to, like, chip in, especially if it's, like, a big celebration.

Speaker 0

而且作为客人,我潜意识里总觉得,比如吃饭这种事,自己付自己的钱是理所当然的。

And I think also as a guest, I do kind of automatically assume that dinner, for example, like, you're gonna have to pay for yourself.

Speaker 1

是的。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

那问题就变成,我们到底要不要帮寿星付饭钱了?

And then the question is more like, oh, are we trying to cover the birthday person's dinner or not?

Speaker 1

没错。

Right.

Speaker 1

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

但确实,像这种活动现在越来越普遍了,可规矩还不太明确。

But, yeah, I guess with activities, because it's still starting to be a more common thing now, the rules are unclear.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

作为策划生日派对的人,我有时候会怀疑,自己想收钱是不是太小气了。

I think as someone who plans the birthday party, sometimes I wonder if I'm, like, cheap for wanting to charge Oh.

Speaker 1

你知道的,反正都一样。

You know, whatever Mhmm.

Speaker 1

每人。

Per person.

Speaker 1

不过,就像你说的,如果过生日的人说,咱们搞个活动,每人20到30美元。

But, yeah, like you said, if a birthday girl was like, oh, we're gonna do this activity, it's gonna be, like, $20.30 dollars per person.

Speaker 1

我会说,行吧。

I'd be like, okay.

Speaker 1

说实话,我根本不会去想这事儿。

You know, like, I wouldn't think about it at all.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我觉得这完全说得通。

I feel like it's totally reasonable.

Speaker 1

我觉得只是因为你在计算参与这项活动的费用,让人感觉不舒服。

I think it just feels bad because you're, like, quantifying how much this activity costs to participate.

Speaker 1

好像我在收你30块钱,才让你当我的朋友、给我过生日似的。

Like, I am charging you $30 per person to be my friend and celebrate my birthday.

Speaker 0

我完全明白你的意思。

I totally get what you mean.

Speaker 0

理想情况下,所有事情都该很便宜,大家能互相照顾,谁都不用多想。

Like, in a perfect world, everything is very affordable so that we can just cover for our friends so no one has to think about anything.

Speaker 1

没错。

Right.

Speaker 0

或者,价格低到大家都很乐意自己付钱,完全不会觉得这是额外负担,或者太夸张了之类。

Or, like, it's so affordable that everyone is just super happy to, like, pay for themselves as well and not feel like it's it was a extra or, you know, over the top or something like that.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

完全对。

Totally.

Speaker 1

而且我觉得费用差异其实挺大的。

And I think the cost can vary a lot too.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

比如,如果只是一些小活动,费用可能更容易接受。

Like, if it's just a small activity here or there, maybe it's easier of a cost to swallow.

Speaker 1

但有时候活动时间更长,比如出去旅行,大家心里早就有数,知道得花更多钱。

And then sometimes if the activity is longer, for example, or, like, a trip, then you just know going into it that you're gonna be spending more money.

Speaker 1

但总的来说,我参加别人的生日派对时,每次都玩得特别开心。

But I think all things considered, I've always had such a good time at other people's birthdays.

Speaker 1

花的钱绝对值回票价。

It's always worth the money.

Speaker 1

你知道吗,就算花的是生日相关的钱,也不全是给寿星的。

And, you know, just because something is a birthday related cost doesn't mean that it's all for the birthday person.

Speaker 1

比如我陪朋友去过生日旅行,我自己也玩得很开心,这本身就是一趟旅行。

You know, like if I'm going on a birthday trip for a friend, I'm still having fun and it's still a trip.

Speaker 1

我不是为了陪寿星才去的。

It's not like I'm attending just for the sake of the birthday person.

Speaker 1

我自己也从中得到了乐趣。

I am also getting something out of it as well.

Speaker 1

不过呢,作为主办方,感受确实会很不一样。

But, yeah, just as the host, it can feel very differently.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我觉得,如果主办人选了特别奢华的活动,明明知道大家预算有限,那这就有点让人为难了。

I guess, like, if the host chooses to do something that's, like, really extravagant and they know it might be out of people's budgets, then that's when it starts to get more dicey.

Speaker 0

如果你知道活动超出了大家的承受能力,或许你该多承担一些。

Like, maybe you should be trying to cover more if you know that, like, it's out of people's budgets.

Speaker 0

不过我也说不准。

But I don't know.

Speaker 0

这纯粹是我对自己经历的一些个人想法。

That's like a just like a personal thought I've had about my own things.

Speaker 1

我懂你的意思。

I know what you mean.

Speaker 1

我记得参加过几次生日聚餐,地点都挺高档的。

I think I've been to birthday dinners where we went somewhere really nice.

Speaker 1

不仅自己的饭钱贵,还得额外分摊寿星的餐费。

And then on top of your own meal being really expensive, you also have to help comp the, like, birthday person's dinner.

Speaker 1

我觉得人多的时候,分摊寿星的餐费会容易很多,毕竟十来个人一起分担嘛。

I think when it's a big group, it can be much easier to, like, help pay for the birthday person's dinner because you're splitting it between, like, 10 people or whatever.

Speaker 0

是的。

But Mhmm.

Speaker 1

如果人数很少,感觉负担就特别重。

When it's a really small group, it can feel, like, very expensive.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

没错。

For sure.

Speaker 0

你只能接受现实了。

You're like, okay.

Speaker 0

这个月我参加了一位朋友的生日聚餐。

I attended this one person's birthday this month.

Speaker 0

这个月我实在没法再参加其他生日聚会了。

I can't attend any more birthdays this month.

Speaker 1

我的生日预算已经花光了。

My birthday budget is out

Speaker 0

这个月。

this month.

Speaker 0

确实是这样。

It's Yeah.

Speaker 0

确实需要一点平衡。

Definitely a bit of a balance.

Speaker 0

但我觉得现在我们年纪大了点,生活也更稳定了,稍微多承担一些生日开销,甚至全包下来,让朋友们安心享受,也变得容易多了。

But I think now that we're, like, a little older, a little more established with ourselves, it is a little easier to, like, maybe cover more of your birthday or even be able to cover all of it so that your friends can just enjoy it.

Speaker 0

同时,我觉得朋友们也更愿意多掏点钱,让聚会更精彩。

And at the same time, I think the friends are a little more willing to shell out, like Yeah.

Speaker 0

多花点钱,把事情办得更好。

An extra few bucks to make it good.

Speaker 0

所以。

So

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

当然了。

For sure.

Speaker 0

我想,等年纪大了,问题自然就解决了。

I guess problems just get solved when we're older.

Speaker 1

这让我想起年轻时我常遇到的一个困扰。

That actually reminds me of a problem that I used to feel when I was younger.

Speaker 0

嗯,是这样。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

我以前总会办生日派对。

I would have birthday things.

Speaker 1

我经常和詹姆斯纠结,生日派对该不该把朋友圈子合并在一起。

I would debate for a long time with James whether to combine friend groups during my birthday party or not.

Speaker 1

嗯。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

他不太喜欢把不同朋友群体混在一起,那样会让他有点紧张。

He is someone who doesn't like to combine friend groups because it, like, stresses him out a little bit.

Speaker 1

但我这个人一向支持把朋友群合并在一起。

But I'm someone who's, like, pro combining friend groups.

Speaker 1

所以我们总是讨论,是办两场生日聚会,还是干脆办一场大的。

So then we would always talk about whether to have multiple birthday things or just have one big birthday thing.

Speaker 1

不过我觉得,人越长大,办一场大型生日派对就越正常,把朋友群合并也没那么奇怪了。

But I think the older we get, it's just so common to have, like, one big birthday thing, you know, and it's not as weird to, like, combine friend groups.

Speaker 1

所以我们现在就直接搞个混合群体一起过。

So we just have a mixed group now.

Speaker 1

不过啊。

But Mhmm.

Speaker 1

是啊,那时候确实为这事儿纠结了好久。

Yeah, at the time, it was a long debate for sure.

Speaker 0

我记得有一年你确实是分开办的。

I do remember one year you had it split.

Speaker 0

真的吗?

Yeah?

Speaker 0

我记得那一年你过生日,我好像去了两次。

Well, I think it was because I vaguely remember being at your birthday, like, two times.

Speaker 1

嗯,有这回事。

Okay.

Speaker 1

对。

Yes.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yes.

Speaker 1

我觉得那时候确实分过好几次庆祝。

I think there were probably multiple times where we did have it split.

Speaker 1

而且说实话,有时候分开办还挺好的,毕竟不用一个人操持所有事。

And to an extent, I think it is still nice to have it split sometimes because you don't have to do the hosting as much.

Speaker 1

你懂我的意思吧?

You know what mean?

Speaker 1

你可以直接待在一个大家都熟、相处融洽的环境里。

You can just, like, exist in a space where everyone already gets along and, like, knows each other.

Speaker 1

所以你就不必到处盯着,确保大家互相交流,这有时候反而让生日派对没了意思。

So you don't have to, like, go around and make sure people are mingling, which can, to me, take away from the fun of having a birthday party sometimes.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

因为你其实是在干活。

Because you're kinda, like, working.

Speaker 0

没错。

That's true.

Speaker 0

而且分开办的话,因为人少,氛围也会更亲近一些。

And then also when it's split up, like, it can be a little bit more intimate since the groups are a little smaller.

Speaker 1

当然。

For sure.

Speaker 0

那我们现在又打算分开过生日了吗?

So are we going back to split birthdays now?

Speaker 1

不了。

No.

Speaker 1

我在想,要不要安排两天普拉提?

I'm like, should I do two Pilates days?

Speaker 0

别了。

No.

Speaker 0

别了。

No.

Speaker 0

你只有一个普拉提教室,但中间拉个帘子就行。

You'll have one Pilates room, but you'll have a curtain down the middle.

Speaker 0

这样就挺好。

So it's like, alright.

Speaker 0

这一边是高中同学。

High school friends in this one.

Speaker 0

那一边是大学同学。

College friends in this one.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

这一块就安排其他朋友吧。

And, like, other friends in this section.

Speaker 0

或者我把普拉提那组留着,再带另一组去夜店。

Or I keep the Pilates day as one group, and then I take another group out to clubbing.

Speaker 0

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

你不用把我算进那组里。

You don't need to include me in that one.

Speaker 0

说到普拉提,我还有个最后的话题想和你聊聊。

Speaking of Pilates, though, I do have one final topic for us to discuss.

Speaker 0

因为普拉提这活动太健康了。

Because Pilates is such a wholesome activity.

Speaker 0

我记得以前觉得,Jisoo选哪天过生日根本无所谓,反正都是普拉提日。

So I remember feeling like, oh, it doesn't even matter which day Jisoo chooses for her birthday because, like, it's Pilates.

Speaker 0

现在我觉得,星期天其实也可以当作生日日了。

I feel like Sundays have now kind of opened up as a viable birthday day.

Speaker 0

因为过去总有人会想,哎,要是第二天喝醉了怎么办?

Because in the past, there was always a bit of a, like, oh, what if we're hungover the next day?

Speaker 0

毕竟星期天之后就是星期一,大多数人还得上班,所以星期天可能不是最佳选择。

Like, maybe Sundays aren't the best day because most people have to work on Mondays.

Speaker 1

没错。

Right.

Speaker 0

但现在想想,我们干嘛会喝醉呢?

But now it's like, oh, well, why would we be hungover?

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 1

说得对。

So true.

Speaker 1

星期天办生日派对这想法其实挺疯狂的,但我觉得我们今年突然就想通了。

The concept of a Sunday birthday party is actually crazy, but I feel like we just unlocked it, like, this year.

Speaker 0

等等。

Because wait.

Speaker 0

其实对,我生日就是在周日。

Actually, yeah, my birthday was on a Sunday.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

哥们,这真的挺疯狂的。

Dude, it's actually insane.

Speaker 1

以前确实都是这样安排的。

It really used to be like, okay.

Speaker 1

生日派对通常都定在周五晚上或者周六晚上。

All birthday parties are on Friday night or Saturday night.

Speaker 1

但现在我们可以安排在周日上午。

But now we can do, like, a Sunday morning thing.

Speaker 1

就像我刚才提到的摘浆果活动,从周六上午一直持续到下午,时间安排得特别合适。

Or like I mentioned with the berry picking, it was, like, a Saturday morning to afternoon thing, and it was just perfect.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

白天的时间段也开放了。

Daytime has also been unlocked.

Speaker 0

我觉得白天早就开放了,现在周日才算是新开放的。

I think daytime got unlocked earlier, and now Sunday is, like, the new unlocked one.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错。

That's true.

Speaker 1

我觉得白天早就开放了,因为以前人们经常办白天的派对。

I think daytime was unlocked earlier because people used to throw, like, dangers or, like, day parties for sure.

Speaker 1

但现在多了点温馨的氛围。

But now the wholesome element has been involved.

Speaker 0

嗯。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

我在想我们之前简单提过的那场好市多 trivia 生日派对。

I'm thinking about the Costco trivia birthday that we talked about briefly.

Speaker 0

那场派对是在白天举行的。

That one was, like, a daytime.

Speaker 0

我记不清是星期天还是星期六了,但当时我就想,要是安排在星期天也完全没问题。

I can't remember if it was a Sunday or a Saturday, but I remember thinking, like, if this were on a Sunday, that's totally fine too.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

其实我还是更喜欢别安排在星期天的生日。

I think I still prefer, like, a not Sunday birthday, actually.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

就是觉得,星期天能腾出时间打扫或者去打高尔夫,简直太理想了,你知道吧?

Just something about, like, being able to clean slash golf on a Sunday is, like, so ideal, you know?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

但你说得对。

But you're right.

Speaker 1

这样一来,整个周末都更自由了。

Like, it opens up the weekend so much more.

Speaker 1

不仅如此,现在就算昨晚喝了酒,我通常也不会宿醉,嗯。

Not only that, because I'm usually not hungover even after nights where we drink now Uh-huh.

Speaker 1

这同样让周末更宽松了。

It also opens up the weekend.

Speaker 1

你懂我的意思吧?

You know what I mean?

Speaker 0

没错。

True.

Speaker 0

如果生日在周六,就不会觉得整个周末都浪费了。

When someone has a birthday on Saturday, it doesn't feel like you throw away the whole weekend.

Speaker 0

感觉周日还能好好干点事。

It's like, oh, I can still be productive on Sunday.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

对

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错

Exactly.

Speaker 1

但以前我真得专门留出时间。

But before, I used to literally have to block out.

Speaker 1

哦,就是说,得把时间

Oh, you know, here

Speaker 0

定到下午五点左右。

up to, like, 5PM, basically.

Speaker 0

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

对我们的听众来说,有时候我们会在周日安排录音,那时候总觉得得等到五点甚至六点才能开始。

For our listeners, sometimes we would schedule recordings on Sundays, and we'd be like, I think we can't record till, like, 5PM or 6PM.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我们现在已经进步很多了。

We have come a

Speaker 0

没错。

long way.

Speaker 0

当然了。

That's for sure.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 0

现在我们早上十点就开始录了,老兄。

Now we record at, like, 10AM, dude.

Speaker 0

老兄

Dude.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

今天早上九点半了

Speaker 0

我们

We're

Speaker 1

干得特别棒

crushing it.

Speaker 0

对

Yeah.

Speaker 0

生活真不错

Life's good.

Speaker 1

生活很好

Life is good.

Speaker 1

真没想到,我们二十多岁这几年,生活变化这么大。

And it's crazy how much life has changed over our twenties.

Speaker 0

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

现在的生活方式,跟我们二十三四岁那时候比,简直天差地别。

How we live now versus how we lived when we were, like, 24, like, 23 years old, it's actually worlds of a difference.

Speaker 1

我简直不敢相信,这居然还是同一个十年里发生的事。

I cannot even believe it's in the same decade.

Speaker 0

说实话,确实差别挺大的。

Honestly, it is quite different.

Speaker 0

就是没那么放纵了。

It's just like less degeneracy.

Speaker 0

简单来说,我就这么觉得。

That's how I would describe it very simply.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我们现在才是真正地在过日子。

It's like we're living actual life now.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我注意到一件特别有意思的事,就是我总在周日晚上就准备好第二天上班要用的东西,这样周一早上醒来就能直接开工。

I think one of the craziest things I've noticed is that I actually, like, prep my work stuff on Sunday evening so that when I wake up on Monday, I'm like, okay.

Speaker 0

背包已经收拾好了,该带的都带齐了,出门就行。

My backpack's ready, and, like, I have everything I need, and I can just head out the door.

Speaker 0

但我上学的时候,根本没这么干过。

But, like, I don't even think I did that for school.

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 1

我懂你的意思。

I know what you mean.

Speaker 1

我会提前把健身服都拿出来放好。

I, like, lay my gym clothes out.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 1

就是偶尔有些早上,我得先去锻炼一下,再开始工作。

It's just some occasional mornings where I have to do, like, a pre work workout or something.

Speaker 1

我会把衣服提前放在沙发上。

I'll, like, lay it out on the couch.

Speaker 1

然后我就想,好了。

And I'm like, okay.

Speaker 1

这样能让我的早晨变得特别轻松顺畅。

This will prepare me for a really easy and seamless morning.

Speaker 1

我心想,哇。

I'm like, woah.

Speaker 1

我这是怎么了?

Who am I?

Speaker 0

我该不会跟我爸一样了吧?

Am I my fucking dad?
