Well, an oasis as a noun, not the band, is a peaceful or pleasant place that is very different from everything around it.

The first thing I think of is an oasis in a desert.

If you are in a desert and you are parched and there's nothing to see for miles and miles except sand, then suddenly you spot an oasis, a small patch of vegetation, maybe a a tree or two, and a little bit of water, a little patch of green, an oasis in the desert.

The park was an oasis of peace in the middle of the noisy city.

Next, we have the verb lead.

但在短语'lead somebody to believe/expect/understand something'的语境中。

But in the context of the phrase lead somebody to believe, expect or understand something.

这个'lead'拼作l-e-a-d。

So to lead, l e a d.

你引导一个人或一群人相信、期待或理解某事。

And you lead a person or a group of people to believe, to expect, or to understand something.

这意味着让人相信/期待/理解某事，尤其当事实并非如此时。

This means to make a person believe something or expect something or understand something, especially when it's not true.

所以这个短语常用于事情最终证明是虚假的情况。

So this phrase is often used when something turns out to be false.

比如我可能会在凌晨1点就早早到校。

For example, I might turn up at school early at 01:00.

孩子们通常下午3点半左右放学。

The children tend to finish school around 03:30.

I turn up at 01:00 because I was led to believe that they finished at one today.

推断（deduce）某事是指利用你掌握的知识和信息来理解某事或形成相关观点。

To deduce something is to use the knowledge and information that you have in order to understand something or form an opinion about it.

Here's an example for you.

从他购物篮里的物品，我推断出他是单身。

From the contents of his shopping basket, I deduced that he was single.

这就像根据你所知道的、看到的、听到的和感受到的来对某事得出结论。

It's like to come to a conclusion about something based on what you know and what you can see and hear and feel.

接下来，我们要讲名词'strand'。

Next, we have the noun strand.

一缕，s t r a n d。

A strand, s t r a n d.

一缕是指头发、线或绳索的细丝。

A strand is a thin piece of hair, thread or rope.

我留着长发，所以经常在各个角落发现散落的发丝。

Now I have long hair, so I'm often finding the odd strand of hair here, there and everywhere.

这里有一个例句。

Here's an example sentence.

His wife noticed a long blonde strand of hair on his coat and started to ask questions.

Alright, now we have the noun nemesis.

克星是指一个你几乎不可能战胜的对手或敌人，或是你难以应对的局面。

A nemesis is an opponent or an enemy that is likely to be impossible for you to defeat, or a situation that's likely to be impossible for you to deal with.

那些你觉得极其困难、无法克服的挑战。

Something that you find really, really hard, A challenge that you can't overcome.

比如说，你的克星。

Your nemesis, for example.

拖延症是他终生的宿敌。

Procrastination was his lifelong nemesis.
