Good evening.
I said good evening.
There we go okay.
Let me get my water- talk to my dad today he invites you- he sends prayers to you guys he says there's snow coming apparently.
But he invites you in a couple weeks there's a Florida conference February very nice and warm he says And the yeah give you a breakfast sandwich to if you come.
Yes so have a good time it's a Florida conference many people are coming- already- pastor Sharon I'll be going.
And so it'll be a great time.
They just expanded the church.
They knocked down a wall.
Amen for expansion.
And we said, okay, we're gonna fill it up.
We're gonna see how many you could fit in there.
So, you're welcome.
This is gonna be an introduction if you could turn to Luke 22.
And I was beautiful worship thank you so much for that guys.
There was a point at the beginning of that last song, even when I fail, I know you love me.
Oh, wow.
Lord, thank you for your love.
Thank you for your word and your truth, God.
Lord, thank you for praying for us.
Lord, visit us today.
We need you, God.
We praise you.
Bless this, portion in this evening.
In Jesus' name, amen.
In Luke 22, this is just something I've been thinking about recently, and, God's been showing me it.
I might not have every point and bullet point, but we could read it together and learn about it together.
I I feel like the Holy Spirit could lead us and teach us something.
So, Luke 22 and verse 31 says, and the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you that he may sift you as wheat.
But I have prayed for you that thy faith fail not.
And when you are converted, strengthen the brethren.
And he said unto him, Lord, I'm I'm ready to go with you both into prison and to death.
And he said, I tell you, Peter, the cock shall crow this day before that thou shalt thrice, three times, deny that thou knowest me.
In the beginning, Simon, Simon, behold, like, listen.
And I think about that and I've been thinking about listening and we struggle.
I struggle.
We could say we struggle as people to listen sometimes.
We love to talk.
We love to be heard.
Peter, right away, like he wasn't listening, you know.
Peter just always had something to say.
But listening is such an important gift and something that we have two ears to do and we have to listen.
And are we really listening to the word and what's being told?
I've been watching, reading a Watchman Knee book, The Character of God Work Work Workman.
工人?
Workmen?
工人。
Workmen.
Something like that.
You'll find it.
It's a Watchman Knee book.
It's a great book.
He has a bullet point of many different things that the workman of God should be like.
The first thing he says is a good listener.
Learning how to listen.
And that hit me like a ton of bricks.
I was like, wow.
Listening to people.
You know?
He says there's three things that people are saying.
One is what they're saying to you upfront.
Two is something that they're not even saying unto you.
You know?
There's so many other things, but they're just giving you the short, oh, yeah.
I'm doing good, and and and that's it.
You know?
And then there's three.
There's this the soul of the person speaks out too as well.
You ever talk to somebody and you know that they're going through something painful and tragic?
That's their soul like crying now.
And watch me, it says that you can learn how to listen to them.
Learn how to listen.
Behold, Simon, behold, Satan desires you to sift you.
There's a sifting process.
The sifting is a separation, from the wheat from the the wheat from the what?
Tares.
是的。
Yes.
The fruit, from maybe the bad fruit, the living from the dead, the sifting process that happens in our life that Satan wants to do, But also God allows it if you read Amos nine nine.
He says, I will sift the house of Israel.
This is a shaking process.
Hebrews talks about you'll be shaken too as well.
This is a very important process in our lives and it's going to happen.
You'll be sifted, you'll be shaken, and God will allow it for a reason.
He allows it for a reason.
Satan desired to sift you like wheat.
But what does Jesus say?
32.
So good.
But I have prayed for you.
What did he pray for?
Not for him to not be sifted, not for him to, you know, not fail, but he he prayed what that thy faith fail you not.
But I've prayed for you.
Thank you, Lord.
And he says, when you are converted, strengthen the brethren.
And I was just thinking and meditating on the many times Peter failed.
You know?
Peter denies Jesus three times.
Denied the Messiah.
Jesus asked Peter three times, do you love me?
And restored him.
When Peter denied him, we see him later being converted.
This conversion process is amazing.
He was converted, and then in Acts two, he's preaching the gospel and pointing people to Christ.
And in Acts two, three thousand people got saved.
There's a conversion process.
And this is different, from being saved.
Okay?
So conversion is something that's gonna happen throughout our whole lives, and we're gonna go through this.
But it's not that he wasn't saved.
Right?
In Titus three five, it says, according to his mercy, he has saved us with the washing of the word and the regeneration through the Holy Spirit.
Regeneration, this is your salvation happens one time, a free gave gift by faith.
But the conversion process happens many times in a believer's life.
The sifting, the shaking of your life, things are being turned upside down.
But you see later in Peter's life, first Peter five ten, he says, after you have suffered a while, see the conversion?
It didn't happen right away.
It took time.
He says, God will restore you and make you strong.
And there's this I'll just write and I'll close with this.
These four points, there's where we're talking about conversion, there is conviction.
I got this from pastor Steven's message.
Can you believe it?
是的
Yep.
Communication and then crucifixion.
I think I'm spelling that wrong.
It's alright.
I'll be converted in spelling one day.
Lord, help me.
This beautiful look at these four words real quick.
Conversion we learned about conviction.
Who convicts us?
The Holy Spirit.
Where do we read that in?
The Bible.
是的。
Yes.
Amen.
John 16, verse eight.
Conviction comes through the Holy Spirit.
Oh, so important in our lives that we are taught.
We are spirit taught.
Amen.
That this book is opened up and we're being led by a man and many different men and women of God who are filled with the spirit and we're teaching the word and then the holy spirit just convicts us and brings conviction in our lives.
Conversion, like we said, we just talked about it, happens many times in my life.
Communication.
Well, let's go to crucifixion.
Crucifixion is a yeah.
I I kind of forget that part sometimes.
I I forget that I'm dead and and Christ is living in me.
And I no longer live, but the life I now live, I live by faith in the son of God.
I forget about the cross many times in my life because time get get hard, People get hard.
The noise gets loud, and I forget about the cross life.
Man, I need that cross life, that crucifixion, that he bore my sins, and I am a new creation.
And then through that comes communication.
Lord, teach me how to communicate.
To first communicate with you.
团契。
Communion.
That's what communication is, communion.
I wanna feed on the lamb.
I want to learn from you.
I want to meditate day and night on your word.
This communication process.
And then with maybe my spouse, my significant other, my friends, and my family, how do I communicate?
And that's what that verse saying in Luke 22.
After you are converted, I've prayed for you.
And when you are converted, strengthen the brethren.
What you go through, the conversions you have, the sifting that goes on in your life.
Oh, just hold on to Jesus Christ and know that he prayed for you first and foremost.
Like, that is amazing.
But know what you're going through, that God is gonna use it as he did in Peter's life to do something to communicate and give to other people.
So your suffering today, your failures today, God prayed for you, and he's gonna redeem it.
He's gonna convert you, and then you're gonna communicate it to somebody else who's gonna be going through the same exact thing in life.
Amen?
Even when I fail, I know you love me.
Thank you, Lord, for the love of Christ.
Thank you that you've prayed for us, God.
Oh, we are so weak.
We're so frail, and we fail.
And we've denied you.
We've denied you.
But you prayed for us, and you converted us, and you regenerated us.
We thank you, lord.
Oh, lord, you're so good.
You're so good.
We just, yeah, we pray for the offering this evening.
We just pray that just help us to be converted in our finances.
Help us to just have conviction and, help us to give, Lord, because you've given us so much.
And, we love you.
We thank you.
Bless the rest of this this this service in Jesus mighty name.
Amen.
Pastor Sterling, come on up for a minute.
So pastor Sterling is the pastor in Brooklyn, New York.
We just praise the Lord for you.
What do you want to say pastor?
You got the microphone?
Oh, we don't have a microphone for you.
I have a reason to praise the lord.
是的。
Yeah.
I'm excited about the lord.
是的。
Yeah.
And every time I come here, every time I'm here, it's like a renewing, a refreshing, it's a privilege that I have to be in a place where we're receiving life.
We're receiving instructions.
We're receiving wisdom.
We're receiving guidance, and I just love to come here because I see the body, and I see the portions, and I'm so blessed to be in this place.
When we're singing in the in the Brooklyn, we usually after this song, we say, jump, jump, jump, jump.
I know some of you can't jump, but we have a good time because this is the very life that we have.
I'm excited about this.
I'm excited about the word.
I'm excited about my pastor.
I'm excited to hear again from each and every one.
But pastor, shall I just say I'm glad to be here, and I thank God for your faithfulness, for the faithfulness of God.
We're only here because your word is continuing on and that's all I said is I remember my former pastor Moses said, I just come to receive.
I just come.
I got to receive it.
I need it.
Don't we?
是的。
Yeah.
对。
Yeah.
We need it.
So, I listen in the spirit to hear what the Lord has to say because I need every word.
How about you?
Amen.
I'm glad to receive it.
是的。
Yeah.
哇。
Wow.
Thank you.
Thank you, pastor.
Oh, I love you.
Thank you.
It's amazing.
So, wow.
It's great.
That's great.
Thank you.
We also have a visitor from Cape Cod.
That's Pastor David LeBlanc, you want to just stand up.
So he has a vision that came years ago as he spoke with Doctor Stevens probably twenty years ago, twenty five years ago, and that said that we need to have a church on Cape Cod.
So, he moved there and he he's praying and believing and he has a plan by faith.
He's a he's a man of faith.
I love it.
He has faith.
Wow.
Pastor Dave, thank you.
It's great.
He has faith.
Then I see pastor Dan Healy back there.
Is that correct?
是的。
Yep.
好的。
Okay.
很好。
Great.
Pastor Shabeli is over here.
Great to have you back.
Amazing.
很好。
Great.
哇。
Wow.
So, I have a very short message and you know how that goes, right?
I think it is though actually going to be, it's two Kings chapter two and you know the story with Elijah and when I listen to pastor or to Jesse, when I just listened to him, I was sitting there thinking, I could listen to him all night.
Did you feel that way too?
I could listen to him all night.
It's amazing.
Man, wow.
Now, we have two words here we we need to learn.
Elijah and I know you know, Elijah.
Right?
Right?
Where how do I spell it?
要么就是 L I SHA。
Either it is, L I SHA.
好的。
Okay.
Is that right?
不对。
No.
L I SHA,S H A。
L I SHA, S H A.
Oh, you're right.
Oh, yes.
好的。
Okay.
Let's do a couple of things like this.
Well, this is not as long.
This is a long message I guess.
Elijah.
好的。
Okay.
Number two.
是的。
Yeah.
Number one and number two.
Guys, I don't say it.
I can't say the names in Hebrew, I'm sure if I did that we could tell the difference, but anyway.
Here's the story.
Elijah number one, Elijah number one goes up in the sky with a fiery chariot and it was told to Elijah number two, if you see me go up then you will get twice my spirit.
Remember?
Because Elijah number two said, I want to have twice the spirit you have.
So the deal was if you see me go up that will happen to you.
Right?
And the mantle fell on Elijah two, Elijah one went up, the mantle fell on him and actually he did 14, actually this is interesting.
David Belarose told this to me in Hungary when we lived there together with the team.
Elijah did seven miracles and then Elijah did 13 miracles, but he had twice the spirit so we would think he would do two twice the miracles, right.
He'd do 14.
So when he was alive he did 13, but guess what?
He died.
He was buried and when there was a raiding band and of foreigners that came into the area and they had to get out quickly.
A man had died so they threw him in the tomb of Elijah number two and he came alive.
That was the fourteenth miracle.
Isn't that a great, isn't that awesome?
God wrote the Bible.
God wrote the Bible.
Okay, now comes our message.
Elijah number two saw him and he's gone.
Now, the other men, the prophets in the school of Elijah, the other men that were also believers but they were not really discipled as Elijah number two, like he went with him wherever he went.
He was discipled by Elijah number one and he was spiritually minded.
This is the main message this evening just in a few minutes.
To be spiritually minded is not, it's not natural, right?
To be have a mind where you see in these chapters the mind of Elijah.
Number two, you see in his life, in his mind, a spiritual mind.
It's fantastic.
Yeah, I love read these chapters.
Chapter two, this is the one point we're going to bring out.
You see it in three, you see it in chapter four, you see a spiritual mind in chapter five, you see a spiritual mind in chapter six.
And you have that mind.
You have a spiritual mind in Christ.
Be sure to cultivate that mind.
Be sure to stay fresh with that mind.
You are being conformed to the image of Christ.
Now, I know your troubles, I do know something about your troubles in life as people.
I know some of you are battling health problems, family problems, relationship problems, job problems.
I mean this is I understand that and I care about it.

That Ezekiel said, God said to Ezekiel sit where they sit.
I love that.
I heard that years ago in bible school.
I had to sit where they sit.
To go to their home and listen to them.
To hear them.
To sit where they sit.
That's like what a pastor does.
He wants to know what is going on and he cares.
Because Jesus conforms us to his image and Jesse said it very well, in our failure Jesus says I have prayed for you.
In your weeping he is there.
In our good times and bad times he is there.
He is carrying us.
He cares for us.
But it takes a spiritual mind to understand the ministry.
Takes a spiritual mind to understand something about God's work in this world.
What is God doing in this world?
Failure is a part of the human race.
Failure is a part of life.
How do you handle your failure and the failures of other people?
It takes a spiritual mind.
Now here's a illustration.
Elijah said to the they talked to the prophets at chapter two, and we could say fifteen and sixteen and sixteen.
是的。
Yeah.
Fifteen and sixteen.
When the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said the spirit of Elijah does rest on you.
Now these are are bible college students you could say.
These are the sons of the prophets.
This is a school of prophecy of prophethood.
This is a school remember Samuel started it.
Samuel the prophet started a school for training people in the country of Israel, training them in the word.
It was actually bible school movement.
When a church has a bible school that's in the basement of the church or a library that's bible school, this is a yeah, our responsibility is to teach all the things that he has commanded us and to go forth and to baptize in his name and to teach and practice what we have heard and what we believe.
And so it takes a spiritual mind.
So he the the sons of the prophet said, it's real.
The spirit of Elijah is on you.
He is the spirit of Elijah is on you.
Now, verse 16, and they said, behold now, there be with your servants 50 strong men.
Let them go, we pray thee and seek your master.
50 men.
There's 50 of us here.
Let's go and find Elijah number one who was taken up in the chariot.
Let's go try to find him.
Like he might have landed on that hill, he may be, maybe he landed in Bel Air Maryland, maybe he is in Jessup Maryland, maybe he is in Annapolis, we have to go find him.
And how would does that sound like to you?
But the natural mind, if he went up he came down.
If Elijah went up and he must be here somewhere.
And what's Elijah number two saying?
No, that's not true.
He went up and he's up in heaven.
He went up in the chariot of fire.
No he's not here.
He's not here, but they said no he is here.
He is here.
That happens to you and I.
That happens to you and I.
We have a natural mind and we will hear maybe what is said in public, in the street and repeat it and we sound like them.
But have we heard what is really happening?
Do we understand what is really happened?
That's what this is about.
Isn't that good?
想法?
Thought?
好的。
Okay.
Let's read chapter two, second Kings two sixteen.
Let's go look for your master lest per adventure the spirit of the Lord, now notice they are they have the right language.
The spirit of the Lord, that's like religious language.
The spirit of Lord has taken him up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley.
And Elijah too said, you shall not send.
No, that's another way of saying.
No, we're not doing that.
No, we're not doing that.
And the people they said yes we are.
He is here somewhere.
Let's find him.
He is our teacher.
He is our teacher, but Jesus would say to us, you don't even know.
You don't know.
You think you know, but you don't know.
I was thinking, I read somewhere that Jesus said seven times in the gospels that I will be going up to Jerusalem to be crucified.
And it also said that the disciple, they didn't hear it, they didn't understand it, they didn't believe it, it didn't register in their minds.
You're going up to Jerusalem to be crucified.
That's a picture of how we can hear the natural man processes life through his natural mind, his conscience, understanding by his own heart, his own mind.
He doesn't believe in angels, doesn't believe in the resurrection, doesn't believe the bible is true, doesn't believe that God is in the room, but he is.
Verse 17, and when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said send.
That means they insisted we'll go out in a search party with 50 guys and we have to do this.
And he said, okay, go ahead.
Do it.
Go for it.
Go try to find them.
Verse 17.
They sent therefore 50 men and they sought three days but found him not.
And when they came again to him for he tarried at Jericho, he said unto them, did I not say unto you go not.
It didn't happen the way they thought and same in our lives.
We may think things go this way, but be careful because there's something about our life that you can't put your hand on it.
There's something about your life in the Holy Spirit.
There's something about these words and this life of faith and the body of Christ.
There's something about it where we are called that God is at work, that we drink the same spirit and we start to believe God And we start to believe God for our families when something in our hearts is no, like something is bad.
We start to believe God about our future when something in our hearts says no, it's bad or it's not like that or don't you have any sense or are you stupid or or this kind of thing.
And and we have to say wait a minute, I need to be serious about this and be careful because Elijah went up and he's gone.
And this is a new thing.
And that man, Elijah number two has twice the spirit.
And this is God at work.
And you know some people are worried about the future of of our church and so on and it maybe that is a good thing that well then how do you process that?
Maybe that's a good thing for us to be concerned or worried about also the next pastor who is the next pastor after me and how does that happen and so on.
And people can be worried and concerned about many things in life.
And if it's not this, it can be this or this or this.
We all know this.
But I'm just encouraging you encouraging you tonight that to have a spiritual mind is a lot of fun.
To have a spiritual mind is a lot of joy.
To have a spiritual mind is a lot of liberty.
To have a spiritual mind is is in the presence of God.
At his right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Have you tasted it?
Have you been encouraged?
Are you built up?
Do you believe that that God could send missionaries to a place and they could have a big impact?
We have seen it.
Do you believe that God you could have a time of prayer for one hour and get off your knees and say I don't have a worry in the world.
I don't have a worry in the world.
Nothing bothers me.
I am free.
Thank you Jesus.
Can you believe that the spiritual mind that the mind of Christ is our mind and that we have something in our hearts and I don't quit at it.
I follow I'm following Jesus.
What about greater grace without which is fine.
It's not that it's not a big deal.
What is a big deal is the reality of Jesus in our life.
The reality of Christ and we belong to this church but we are also following God and what God says and what he wants us to do and how does he want us to live and also what message does he want us to preach and also how do we care about people that God has put in our care.
How do we care about them?
How do we care for them?
How do we call them up or visit them?
Or how do we work as a team?
And how do we love people?
How do we pray for Eurocon and believe that Eurocon will be the best ever?
And whatever that means.
Because God has a great way of keeping us off balance.
You know my little picture of it.
If you think you stand like you know then you're ready to fall.
But if you're standing like this with God, that's better.
This is more, I'm more secure when I don't have security, When I don't have natural security, I need God.
Right?
I need the Holy Spirit to fill me and give me love and joy and peace and liberty and freedom and faith and optimism and encouragement and bring joy home to your wife and to your husband and your children and don't talk bad in the presence of your children about God's work.
Don't speak bad in the tents in Deuteronomy chapter one and poison your children and your friends and your family and poison them with bad words about God's people and God's work on the earth.
Don't be naturally minded, but to be spiritually minded and edifying and wise.
好的。
Okay.
Amen.
That that wasn't short was it?
But doesn't matter how long or short but did you get it?
是的。
Yeah.
Wait a minute.
Help me repeat it one more time.
短。
Short.
好的。
Okay.
He goes up.
He's actually gone.
Elijah knows that power comes.
Power comes.
They are occupied, where is he?
Where is he?
Where did he go?
On which mountain has he gone?
We got to go find him.
Elijah is going, no, no.
Look at that.
Here we are, It's now.
And he's gone.
God is here.
God is here.
Can you see it?
I mean, in in in our hearts, do we see what we're saying?
是的。
Yeah.
So, that's it.
好的。
Okay.
Amen.
Lord Jesus, thank you.
We know all of us how naturally minded we can be when we get in trouble or fail or believe God doesn't love me anymore or believe that I don't have any future.
It's or Peter went out and wept, but Jesus had told them about it.
And when you are converted, keep going.
Go convert, I mean go comfort the brethren.
Help them in their new life.
Let us help each other by living in the spirit.
Let us love each other, build up each other, and have trust in our hearts for God and his work in these days.
Bless all of our laborers, not ours but yours Lord, around the world living and serving and ministering.
And may you give us in our homes this week renewed minds and meditations and prayer.
I don't think I've ever been in a church more loving.
I don't think I've ever seen a group of people more engaged and committed to being listeners and followers of you.
Pour your blessing out and bless us and lead us in this great way.
In your name we pray, amen.
Amen.
Hallelujah.
Oh, wait a minute, one more prayer.
If you don't have Jesus, take him.
Receive him.
Open up your hearts and say I believe in you and you are saved by his grace.
Amen.
Amen.
Praise you.
Lord, thank you, God.
