大家好,欢迎来到《Good Hang》的又一期节目。

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another episode of Good Hang.

Speaker 0

今天这期特别精彩。

We have a great one today.

Speaker 0

我们请到了敏迪·卡 ling。

We are talking to Mindy Kaling.

Speaker 0

敏迪,真是全能达人。

Mindy, mogul.

Speaker 0

样样都做得这么出色。

So good at so many things.

Speaker 0

今天咱们就来聊聊这些。

And we get into it today.

Speaker 0

聊了很多有趣的话题。

We talk about a lot of fun stuff.

Speaker 0

比如无伴奏合唱团。

We talk about acapella groups.

Speaker 0

我们聊了聊,觉得自个儿能不能生孩子。

We talk about whether or not we think we can deliver a baby.

Speaker 0

我们提到,她写的《办公室》剧集比任何其他编剧都多。

We talk about the fact that she has written more episodes of The Office than any other writer.

Speaker 0

我们还深入聊了聊她的新剧《不适合上班》,现在在Hulu上正在播出。

And we get into her new show, Not Suitable for Work, which is on now on Hulu.

Speaker 0

今天能聊的内容真的特别丰富。

So lots of great stuff to talk about.

Speaker 0

和往常一样,我们也会请一位了解嘉宾、还准备了问题的人来和我们聊聊。

And like always, we talk to someone who knows our guest and has a question for our guest.

Speaker 0

说到《不适合上班》,这部剧的主演之一阿万蒂卡今天也加入了我们。

And speaking of Not Suitable for Work, we have one of the stars from that show, Avantika, joining us.

Speaker 0

阿万蒂卡,你可能在电影《贱女孩》音乐版里见过她,是个很有才华的年轻姑娘,今天能来真是让我们倍感荣幸。

Avantika, who you may know from the movie musical of Mean Girls, a talented young woman who is here to, well, to grace our presence, really.

Speaker 0

阿万蒂卡,我的麦克风能听到吗?

Avantika, is my audio working?

Speaker 0

本集由希尔顿赞助播出。

This episode is brought to you by Hilton.

Speaker 0

你听说了吗?巴黎·希尔顿手里有几十亿希尔顿荣誉积分?

Did you hear Paris Hilton has, like, a billion Hilton Honors points?

Speaker 0

她管这些叫‘巴黎积分’,这个夏天希尔顿正帮她把所有积分免费送出去。

Well, she calls them Paris points, and Hilton is helping her give them all away this summer.

Speaker 0

不管是办婚礼、度假,还是出差兼休闲,甚至就单纯想睡一觉,都能用上。

Use them for that wedding or pleasure, that's business and pleasure, or maybe book a stay just for sleep.

Speaker 0

就像巴黎说的,这叫‘睡游’。

As Paris would say, that's sliving.

Speaker 0

记得先成为希尔顿荣誉会员,关注巴黎和希尔顿的社交媒体,看看这些积分怎么变成你的福利。

Just make sure you're a Hilton Honors member and follow Paris and Hilton on the socials to see how Paris points can be your points.

Speaker 0

想要让这个夏天的积分真正派上用场,住哪里很关键。

When you want points that actually make your summer slay, it matters where you stay.

Speaker 0

你好。

Hi.

Speaker 0

好久不见,真高兴再见到你。

It's so nice to see you again.

Speaker 0

是啊。

I know.

Speaker 0

见到你真好

It's so good to

Speaker 1

啊。

see you.

Speaker 0

恭喜你最近这么多好事发生。

Congratulations on all the good stuff happening for you.

Speaker 0

一点都不意外,你现在在哪儿呢?

And no surprise, where are we talking to you from?

Speaker 1

我现在正在片场。

I'm on set right now.

Speaker 1

这就是为什么

This is why

Speaker 0

我的妆容看起来有点吓人。

my makeup looks a little scary.

Speaker 0

你现在正在拍《不适合工作》吗?

Are you shooting Not Suitable for Work right now?

Speaker 0

你现在的拍摄现场就是这个吗?

Is that the set that you're on?

Speaker 1

你能想象吗?

Can you imagine?

Speaker 1

我正在低调推出第二季。

I'm soft launching season two.

Speaker 1

不是。

No.

Speaker 1

这不是拍摄现场。

This is not the set.

Speaker 1

我不是在这儿拍戏。

This is not the set I'm on.

Speaker 1

我在一个保密的片场。

I'm on an undisclosed set.

Speaker 0

哦,真让人兴奋。

Oh, exciting.

Speaker 1

我不能透露详情。

I'm not at liberty to talk You

Speaker 0

你最近忙得不可开交。

are busy, busy, busy.

Speaker 0

你还记得吗?我们第一次见面是在《Moxie》的片场。

You know, we we first met on the set of Moxie.

Speaker 1

《Moxie》。

Moxie.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我们是怎么认识的?

How did would how do we how did we meet?

Speaker 0

你还记得吗?

Do you remember?

Speaker 1

我记不清我们第一次见面的情形了。

I don't remember like the first initial meeting.

Speaker 1

但我特别清楚地记得,你从教室出来,我看到你和我爸手牵着手,蹦蹦跳跳的,原来你们发现生日是同一天——他特别爱聊天。

I just have a really vivid memory of you of like walking out of the school like, the classroom and seeing you and my dad, like, holding hands and jumping up and down together because you figured out you guys had the same birthday because he loves talking.

Speaker 1

你们俩都拿出了身份证。

You both had your IDs out.

Speaker 1

我当时就想,真酷。

I was like, cool.

Speaker 1

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 1

大家都相处得这么好,真好。

I'm glad everyone's getting along.

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my god.

Speaker 0

他是9月16号的。

He's a September 16 girly.

Speaker 1

对,没错。

Yes, he is.

Speaker 0

可惜我发现这其实挺常见的。

Sadly, I've learned it's very common.

Speaker 0

9月出生的人好像确实很多。

September birthdays are very common, I guess.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我想人们集中在那段时间生孩子是有原因的。

I guess people really I get down

Speaker 1

知道。

know.

Speaker 1

这说明了我们什么?

What does it say about us?

Speaker 0

我想他们在假期里容易情绪低落。

They get down in the holidays, I guess.

Speaker 1

所以大概我们就是觉得无聊吧。

I guess so we get bored.

Speaker 1

我们觉得无聊,又冷。

We get bored and we're cold.

Speaker 0

你还记得吗?我为Netflix拍过一部叫《Moxie》的电影,演员阵容特别棒。

Well, remember I directed a film for Netflix called Moxie and it was filled with incredible cast.

Speaker 0

我记得你来拍了一个很短的镜头,但那天特别开心。

And I remember you came and joined us for a too brief scene, but a really fun day.

Speaker 0

你爸和我居然能聊得来,这真挺温馨的。

And that's a real that's really cute that your dad and I bonded.

Speaker 0

我最近查了查你的资料,Avantika,你做的那些事真的让人佩服。

I was reading up on you, Avantika, you're so impressive in the stuff that you've done.

Speaker 0

我还不知道你年轻时拍过很多宝莱坞电影。

And I didn't know that you did a lot of Bollywood when you were younger.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我就是从那里起步的。

It's how I it's how I started out.

Speaker 1

那时候我大概十岁,印度父母都喜欢选稳妥的路,可当时要举家搬到洛杉矶,一辈子干这行,根本不算稳妥。

I think at the time, was 10 and Indian parents like to make safe bets and it was not a safe bet at the time to be like, let's haul ass to LA and do this for the rest of your life.

Speaker 1

但要是想进电影行业,印度当时是更靠谱的选择。

But India was a more prospective place if I wanted to be in the film industry.

Speaker 1

所以我们搬过去住了四年。

And so we moved there for like four years.

Speaker 0

哦,真的吗。

Oh, wow.

Speaker 0

你们是为了你的事业才搬过去的。

They you moved there for your career.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我妈妈在我出生那天就辞了工作。

My mom really like my mom left her job the day that I was born.

Speaker 1

她说,她想把所有时间都花在我身上。

She was like, I wanna spend all my time with my daughter.

Speaker 1

为了让我能进入这个行业,她做了很多牺牲。

And she made a lot of sacrifices for me to be in this industry.

Speaker 1

所以现在她能看我演的电视剧,我真的很感激。

So I'm, you know, very grateful that now she gets to like, watch a TV show.

Speaker 1

我希望她看得开心。

I like I'm I I hope she enjoys.

Speaker 1

她真的是我走到今天的根本原因,不过我可不想说得太煽情。

And, yeah, she really is the reason that I'm here not to get all emo on everyone.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我早上七点就得起床,为了

I get seven in the morning for

Speaker 0

你。

you.

Speaker 0

不是。

No.

Speaker 0

不是。

No.

Speaker 0

我随时都能哭出来。

I'm ready to cry anytime.

Speaker 0

随时。

Anytime.

Speaker 0

好吧。

Okay.

Speaker 0

咱们聊聊你的老板吧。

So let's talk about your boss.

Speaker 0

所以咱们现在没问题了。

So we're okay.

Speaker 0

今天我要采访明迪·凯林,我和她认识很久了。

So I'm interviewing Mindy Kaling today, whom I've known for a really long time.

Speaker 0

我特别期待和她聊,因为我们的经历和人生道路有很多相似之处。

And I'm really excited to talk to her because, you know, we have a lot of similar experiences and paths.

Speaker 0

我特别想问问她,她是个什么样的上司?

And one of the things that I really wanna talk to her about is like what kind of boss is she?

Speaker 1

我第一次见明迪,是在洛杉矶的一个停车场,她开车来接我,那时候我17岁,给她发私信说:我超爱你。

So the first time I ever met Mindy was in a parking lot that she took me to in LA because I had DMed her when I was 17 being like, I love you.

Speaker 1

我真的特别特别爱你。

I love you so much.

Speaker 1

她就回我:好吧。

And she was like, okay.

Speaker 1

她就说,好啊。

She was like, yeah.

Speaker 1

她说,让我的助理帮你安排个午餐。

Like, she was like, let me have my assistant schedule lunch.

Speaker 1

我当时心想,天哪。

And I was like, oh my god.

Speaker 1

这简直是我此刻最激动的事了。

It's like, this is the most exciting thing happening right now.

Speaker 1

她带我去了一家开在购物中心里的法式餐厅。

And she took me to a French restaurant in a strip mall.

Speaker 1

座位就设在停车场里。

And the seating is literally in a parking lot.

Speaker 1

我爸爸当时就停在三百英尺外。

And my dad was like parked 300 feet away.

Speaker 1

我特别喜欢提起我爸爸。

I love mentioning my dad.

Speaker 1

我爸爸好像每段故事里都要出现一次。

My dad's like making a reappearance in every story.

Speaker 1

他总是在附近,从不远离。

It's just always proximate.

Speaker 1

他现在就坐在这个房间里。

And he's actually in the room right now.

Speaker 1

你能想象吗?

Can you imagine?

Speaker 1

她带我去了一家法国餐厅,还说:‘你要是没吃过蜗牛,今天一定要试试。’

But she took me to this French restaurant and was like, we need to try escargot if you haven't tried.

Speaker 1

好吧。

Alright.

Speaker 1

我第一次和敏迪单独相处,就是吃着蜗牛,她一边问我:‘你职业生涯是怎么回事?’

So my first, like, one on one experience with Mindy was, like, eating snails and her being this very was she like, tell me about your career.

Speaker 1

她问我:‘你这一生想要什么?’

She was like, what do you want in life?

Speaker 1

我觉得她最让我印象深刻的一点,也是我特别喜欢她的地方,就是她特别好奇。

And I think the one thing that always stood out to me about her and is one of ever favorite qualities about her by having worked on this set is that she's such a curious person.

Speaker 1

Mindy问的问题真的特别多。

Like, Mindy asks so many questions.

Speaker 1

各种问题。

Questions.

Speaker 1

她特别爱聊八卦。

She's just, like, down to gossip.

Speaker 1

她特别爱闲聊。

She's down to gab.

Speaker 1

她连我的感情生活都一清二楚。

Like, she knows about my love life.

Speaker 1

我们所有人的感情事,她都知道。

She knows about all of our love lives.

Speaker 1

和Mindy在一起真的特别有意思。

Like, Mindy's just a really fun person to be around.

Speaker 1

我真希望这次能多留她一阵子,因为我们总是担心哪天会失去她,毕竟Mindy的首要任务是她的孩子和外面的生活。

I really wish this time around that she, like, we don't because we're always scared of when we're gonna lose Mindy because, like, Mindy's first priority are her kids and, like, her life outside.

Speaker 1

所以这一季,我们盼着能把她牢牢抓住。

And so this season, we're hoping that, like, we're gonna get our claws on her.

Speaker 1

如果下季还能续订,希望她不会再放我们走。

And, like, if we get renewed for next season, she she won't let us go.

Speaker 1

但她真的太棒了。

But she's the best.

Speaker 1

不管Mindy自己有没有意识到,或者能不能真正理解,她早已成为很多人心里的一个重要存在。

I I think whether Mindy knows it or, like, can really comprehend it or not, she's like a present figure in so many people's mindsets.

Speaker 1

很多人把她当成朋友、榜样,甚至偶像,不管是她扮演的Kelly Kapoor,还是其他她创造的角色。

Like, sort of, you know, like a lot of people view Mindy as a friend and and a and a role model or an idol, whether it be Kelly Kapoor or any of the characters she's she's created.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

作为一个年轻印度女性,看着她出现在屏幕上,代表她的生活,这对你意味着什么?

And as an a young Indian woman watching her, what did it mean to see her, you know, representing her life and on screen?

Speaker 0

作为一个年轻人,那种感觉到底是怎样的?

Like, what what what was that like as a young person?

Speaker 1

我超爱《青春变形记》。

I loved Never Have I Ever.

Speaker 1

当初听说要拍这部剧的时候,我觉得这简直是这辈子见过最疯狂的事了。

I mean, when Never Have I Ever came out in trades that it was getting made, I was like, this is the most insane thing, like, I've ever seen in my life.

Speaker 1

我当时还去试镜过《青春变形记》,那时候年纪特别小。

I was I was in that what so I would I auditioned for never have I ever, and I was very young when I went out for it.

Speaker 1

我记得在候场室看到演员名单,心里想:天啊,这些女孩我都想和她们做朋友。

But I remember being, like, in the waiting room looking at the sign in sheet for and being like, who are all the girl like, I wanna be friends with all of them.

Speaker 1

于是我跟我妈说:你能不能把后半段名字都记下来?

And so I remember telling my mom, I was like, can you please memorize the latter half?

Speaker 1

我来记前半段,然后我们就能去Facebook上给她们妈妈发私信,我真的特别想跟圈里这些优秀的人交朋友。

And I'll memorize the pop pop, and then we can go and, like, DM their moms on Facebook because I really wanna be friends with proud people in the industry.

Speaker 0

我们都清楚,私信对你来说有多不靠谱。

And we all know how well DMs work for you.

Speaker 1

我真的很感兴趣。

I'm really interested.

Speaker 1

它

It

Speaker 0

总是管用。

always works.

Speaker 1

我的梦想正好适合这个角色,她演得实在太出色了。

And my dream was perfect for that role and she did like so so incredible.

Speaker 1

但说到底,她有一种独特又了不起的方式,能把大家聚在一起,不管是镜头外,还是幕后都一样。

But all that to say like she has a very odd, incredible way of bringing together community and bringing together people, both off camera, but also behind the scenes as well.

Speaker 1

我觉得,看她在屏幕上的表现,对很多人来说,就像看到了真正的代表——原来像我这样的人是真实存在的,也值得被推上大舞台。

And I think watching her on screen meant the same thing as representation means to more anybody, which is that, like, oh, people like me exist and people like me are deserving of being put on a big platform.

Speaker 1

太棒了。

Very cool.

Speaker 1

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 1

所以我们一直有个惯例

So we we have we always do this thing

Speaker 0

就是请嘉宾回答一个来自了解他们、尊重他们、和他们共事过、并且非常喜爱他们的人的问题。

where we ask our guests a question from somebody who knows them, respects them, works with them, loves and adores them.

Speaker 0

那今天你有什么问题想问敏迪吗?

So what question do you have for Mindy today?

Speaker 1

我想知道,像她这样已经取得这么多成就的人,她的个人‘EGOT’是什么。

I'd like to know for someone who's accomplished so much, like, what her personal, like, EGOT is.

Speaker 1

就是她这一生想在四个不同领域实现的四项成就。

Like, what her four accomplishments that she wants to achieve in her life, like spanning four different categories?

Speaker 0

这问题可真不小。

That's such a big question.

Speaker 0

我喜欢这个提问。

I love it.

Speaker 1

确实是个大问题。

It's a big question.

Speaker 1

你马上就能知道了。

You'll get to see.

Speaker 0

等等,我先说一下。

I'm So wait.

Speaker 0

所以问题是,你已经做了这么多,接下来还想要实现什么?

So the question is what, like, which is like you've done so much, what more do you wanna do?

Speaker 1

这个嘛,我也不太确定。

It's sort of like like if I don't know.

Speaker 1

比如说,个人目标有四个:像威廉·梅那样,生四个孩子,拿个博士学位,出国待两年,捐一笔钱,第四个呢,就是想跳伞。

Like, personally got William May, like, four kids, get a PhD, spend two years abroad, like, you know, donating money, and like the fourth one is like, wanna skydive.

Speaker 1

就是想找出四个横跨不同领域的成就目标。

Like, would like, four things that you wanna accomplish across like all sort of a breadth of categories.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我想说,她已经做得太多了,我就是好奇,你还有什么没完成的?

I guess that is like, I'm sort of just like, she's just she's just done so much that I'm like, what more do you want?

Speaker 0

我猜她肯定有答案。

I mean, bet she'll have an answer.

Speaker 0

而且我心里也觉得,也许就该歇一歇了。

Also, there is a part of me that's like, or just rest.

Speaker 0

现在好好休息吧,亲爱的。

Rest now, darling.

Speaker 1

对。

Right.

Speaker 1

没错。

Right.

Speaker 1

要说我自己,真想直接进冷冻舱。

Personally, God, get put in a cryo chamber.

Speaker 1

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

好的

Okay.

Speaker 0

我喜欢这个。

I love that.

Speaker 0

请告诉你爸爸,我真的很期待再次和他心灵相通地过生日。

And please tell your dad that I can't wait to, you know, psychically spend my birthday with him again.

Speaker 0

见到你真好。

And it's so lovely to see you.

Speaker 0

我知道敏迪知道我们聊过一定会很高兴。

And I know Mindy will be really happy that we talked.

Speaker 0

恭喜你推出新剧《不适合工作》在Hulu播出。

Congratulations on your new show, Not Suitable for Work on Hulu.

Speaker 0

非常感谢你抽时间和我们聊天,祝你未来一切顺利,再次见到你真是太开心了。

And thank you so much for talking to us for all the great things ahead for you and such a pleasure to see you again.

Speaker 1

见到你真好,吉尔。

So good to see you, Jill.

Speaker 0

我也是。

You too.

Speaker 0

非常感谢你抽出时间。

Thanks so much for your time.

Speaker 0

再见,亲爱的。

Bye, honey.

Speaker 0

再见。

Bye.

Speaker 0

再见。

Bye.

Speaker 0

Speaker 0

哎哟。

Oof.

Speaker 0

恭喜你,耳机洗得干干净净,但也彻底毁了。

Enjoy your freshly cleaned and completely destroyed earbuds.

Speaker 0

是的,事先检查一下确实是个好办法。

Yeah, checking first is a good plan.

Speaker 0

所以先查查Allstate的汽车保险报价吧。

So check Allstate first for an auto quote.

Speaker 0

可能能省下好几百块。

It could save you hundreds.

Speaker 0

选择Allstate,安心有保障。

You're in good hands with Allstate.

Speaker 0

大家好,敏迪·卡琳在这里。

Mindy Kaling is here, everybody.

Speaker 0

我刚坐了红眼航班,说实话,这真够折腾的。

Took the red eye, which is I just gotta say that's that's brutal.

Speaker 2

挺有意思的是,我二十多岁的时候,总觉得非得这么干才行。

Isn't it funny how in my twenties, it was the only way I would do things?

Speaker 2

我白天在办公室忙完,到了周五晚上就直接搭红眼航班,飞回波士顿看父母。

I'd shoot the office and then Friday night, I was like, take the red eye, get into I'd I'd just be going back to Boston to see my parents.

Speaker 2

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我爸早上六点在洛根机场接我,然后我们去麦当劳,我就睡上四个小时。

And my dad would pick me up at Logan at 06:00, we'd go to McDonald's and I'd just sleep for four hours.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yes.

Speaker 0

我刚才跟我们的朋友拉西达·琼斯聊了这件事。

I was just talking to our friend Rashida Jones about this.

Speaker 0

就是缺少恢复的时间。

It's the lack of recovery.

Speaker 0

现在我们好像能硬撑过任何事,咬牙挺过去就行,但之后根本没时间好好睡一觉。

It's like, we can power through anything now, you know, like you just suck it up and power through, but it's, there's no day to sleep after.

Speaker 2

根本没时间好好睡一觉。

There's no day to sleep.

Speaker 2

对。

No.

Speaker 2

所以我刚写了一行代码。

So I just did a line of code.

Speaker 0

是啊,我们正在飞。

Yeah, we're flying.

Speaker 0

太棒了!

Woo!

Speaker 2

我状态很好。

I'm doing great.

Speaker 0

我们一会儿要吹吹自己的事业,然后大概四十分钟后就彻底垮掉。

We're gonna brag about our careers and then we're gonna, yeah, we're gonna crash out in like forty five minutes.

Speaker 0

谢谢你来参加。

But thank you for coming.

Speaker 0

谢谢你。

Thank I'm you for

Speaker 2

你这么热情地到场,真的很好。

being so excited to be here.

Speaker 2

我记得以前上大卫·莱特曼节目时,制作人总说:别夸他。

I know, remember when we used to do David Letterman and the producers would be like, Do not compliment him.

Speaker 2

他根本不知道该怎么回应。

He doesn't know what to do with it.

Speaker 2

没错。

That's right.

Speaker 2

你当时就说,哦,原来夸主持人反而是一种冒犯。

And you were like, oh, so it's like an insult to compliment a host.

Speaker 2

后来我感觉在别的节目里也是,我就提醒自己,别这么做。

And then now I feel I felt like for other shows too, I was like, don't do that.

Speaker 2

这就让整个氛围变成:夸人好像很不酷。

And then it feeds into whole thing of like, it's not cool to compliment.

Speaker 2

那个制片人说别夸他,那会儿真对我影响挺大的。

Was very formative when that producer was like, don't compliment him.

Speaker 2

确实如此。

So true.

Speaker 2

你说得对。

You're right.

Speaker 2

这简直像在对抗。

Hostile act.

Speaker 0

你说得对。

You're right.

Speaker 2

但我作为表演者,其实特别喜欢被人夸奖。

And yet, I love compliments as a performer.

Speaker 2

如果有人来看我的演出,跟我说‘我超爱这个节目’,

And if someone came into my show and was like, I love the show.

Speaker 2

我会觉得——

I feel like

Speaker 0

我既喜欢夸别人,也喜欢被人夸。

I love to give, I love to get.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,我们到底在干嘛?

I mean, literally what are we doing?

Speaker 0

难道我们要彼此挖苦、互不相让吗?

Mean, like, are we gonna be like mean to each other?

Speaker 0

这世界都快着火了。

Like the world is on fire.

Speaker 2

我特别渴望被认可,被称赞。

Who I love recognition, praise.

Speaker 2

所以我想说,我真的特别喜欢这个节目。

So I just wanna say that I love the show.

Speaker 2

谢谢。

Thank you.

Speaker 2

我每晚孩子睡了之后,和保姆一起看。

I watch it with my nanny.

Speaker 2

在YouTube上找些小片段看。

On little tits in YouTube at night after the children are down.

Speaker 2

在黑暗里看你们跟巴伦·霍尔茨、凯瑟琳聊天,旁边还插着YouTube的小广告,感觉特别亲密。

And it's such an intimate thing to watch in the dark you talking to like Baron Holtz, Our Katherine And then have our little ads on YouTube.

Speaker 0

我今天准备的时候就在想,首先恭喜你,真是实打实的商业巨头。

You know, I was getting ready for today, first of all, congrats on being a mogul, straight up mogul.

Speaker 0

谢谢。

Thank you.

Speaker 0

你不用解释的。

You don't have to explain.

Speaker 0

你吸收了这些,就已经是大佬了。

You take it in, are a mogul.

Speaker 2

Mindy,听我说,我知道我现在打断你了。

Mindy, Listen, listen, I know I'm interrupting you now.

Speaker 0

不,你请说。

No, please.

Speaker 2

如果你没投资过餐厅或者体育队,还能算大佬吗?

Are you a mogul if you haven't invested in a restaurant or a sports team?

Speaker 0

这是个好问题。

That's a great question.

Speaker 2

我只是想表达一下。

Just because I wanna accept.

Speaker 2

需要

Need

Speaker 0

买下一支体育队才行。

to buy some kind of sports team.

Speaker 0

我就觉得吧

I'm like,

Speaker 2

你是库彻啊,你知道的,他可是拥有优步和《艺伎回忆录》的人

you're Kutcher, you know, like he owns Uber and Geisha House,

Speaker 0

但我总想多称一些女性为天才、大亨,因为我觉得我们真得好好认领这些头衔

like But I'm driven to call more women geniuses and moguls and all that stuff because I think we just need claim.

Speaker 0

那咱们就来认领吧

So let's claim that.

Speaker 0

今天我替你认领这个头衔

I'll claim that for you today.

Speaker 2

谢谢你

Thank you.

Speaker 2

作为同样来自波士顿的女孩,我

As a fellow Boston girl, I

Speaker 0

当我看你做的那些事时,就在想,该从什么主题切入来聊今天的内容

feel like when I was looking at, you know, kind of like looking at all the stuff you do and just thinking thematically about what to talk about today.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,你和我走过的路其实非常相似,不只是因为我们出生地离得近,而是我们在这行里确实待了不少年头了。

I mean, we've had a lot of very similar paths, you and I, and not just because we were born like, you know, in close proximity of each other, but we have really, I mean, we've been in this biz for a minute.

Speaker 2

在这行里待了不少年头了。

Been in this biz for a minute.

Speaker 0

很多事我们都是一起经历过来的。

And we've been together in a lot of it.

Speaker 0

看到你在这里,真的特别开心。

So it's very, very nice to see you and to have you here.

Speaker 2

我很喜欢来这里,更难得的是,你居然觉得我和你走的是类似的路,其实你比我早走了一步。

I love being here and to even be someone that you would say is on a similar journey because I you were a little ahead.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

我比你大差不多十岁。

I was the I was 10 I'm, like, about ten years older than you.

Speaker 2

对我们这一代在纽约成长、上UCB课程的人来说,你就是那个领头做事情的人。

For my generation, for anyone who came up in New York and took classes with UCB and everything, it was like you were the one doing it.

Speaker 2

你当时在一群刻薄又排外的男人里脱颖而出

Like, you were the one succeeding with all the mean, unaccepting men

Speaker 0

在喜剧圈里。

in comedy.

Speaker 0

你明白我的意思吧?

Do know what I mean?

Speaker 0

是的,我懂。

Well, yeah.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,你和我都习惯了——我想聊聊这个。

I mean, I think both you and I are used to, and I wanna talk about it.

Speaker 0

你和我都经常在满屋子男人中是唯一一个女人,尤其是在职业生涯初期,这种经历塑造了我们。

You and I are used to being one or the only woman in a room full of men a lot, for a lot, especially in the beginning of our career and how that shaped us.

Speaker 0

你出生并成长在马萨诸塞州的剑桥。

Cambridge, Massachusetts, you're born and raised.

Speaker 0

剑桥一向是聪明人和他们聪明父母的聚集地。

Now Cambridge was always where smart people lived and their smart parents.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

你在学校的时候,是不是被大家觉得挺聪明的孩子?

Did you have, were you considered like a smart kid in school?

Speaker 0

我一直都被认为是个聪明的孩子。

I was always considered a bright kid.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我年轻的时候,我觉得自己有点安静、微胖,而且挺随和的。

When I was younger, I think I was like kind of silent and chubby and friendly.

Speaker 2

那就是我当时的状态,并不幽默。

And that was my vibe and not funny.

Speaker 2

不过那是过去的事了,不知道你有没有同感。

But that was back I don't know if you felt this way.

Speaker 2

那是八十年代,那时候女孩子好像本来就不该太幽默。

That was back in the eighties when like girls weren't really supposed to be funny.

Speaker 0

没错。

Right.

Speaker 0

他们特别爱笑。

They were kind of good laughers.

Speaker 0

特别爱笑。

Good laughers.

Speaker 2

如果你爱开玩笑或者话太多,别人就觉得你有点问题,或者……

And if you were funny or tried to talk too much, it was kind of like you had problems or you

Speaker 0

有点吵闹。

were like disruptive.

Speaker 0

你说得对。

You're right.

Speaker 0

那时候爱调皮的女孩往往就是班上的开心果,现在回头看。

Like the mischievous girls were the class clowns, which I look back now.

Speaker 0

她们其实只是活泼又有趣,但别人总觉得她们是捣蛋鬼。

And they were just like feisty, interesting young women, but people thought they were kind of troublemakers.

Speaker 0

完全没错。

Totally.

Speaker 0

至少我上学的时候是这样。

At least in my school.

Speaker 2

作为印度人,那种文化差距特别大,但我总觉得我只是个旁观者。

Being Indian too, it was so far from the but also, like, I felt like I was still just like observing.

Speaker 2

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 2

但我发现,直到上了中学,那些班里的搞笑人物或者男生才变得特别夸张。

But I noticed that like it wasn't until I was like in middle school where I was like, the class clowns or guys were just like kind of outrageous.

Speaker 2

他们其实并不好笑。

They weren't really funny.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

但当你十二三岁的时候,愿意从学校楼顶跳下去的人和搞笑的人,根本分不清。

But when you're 12 and 13, there is no difference between someone who's like willing to like jump off the side of the school building and being someone who's funny.

Speaker 2

那时候所有事情都混在一起了。

It was like all just like one thing.

Speaker 2

没错。

Totally.

Speaker 2

根本没人去深究这件事。

No one was examining it.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 2

我觉得我父母那时候也觉得,在学校爱搞笑就跟捣乱、不务正业挂钩。

And I think that for my parents too, like at that time, being funny in school was so tied to like kind of like an, again, disruptive, like non academic.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

如果你是个爱逗乐的孩子,好像就没啥好前途。

Like you don't have a good path if you're like a funny kid.

Speaker 0

我就是这个意思。

That's what I mean.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你在课堂上爱发言,但好像又不太专心。

You're kind of like, you're speaking out in class, you're kind of not paying attention.

Speaker 0

我猜你那时候也一样。

And I bet you had the same thing.

Speaker 0

而且你的情况可能更明显,因为你的父母是在你妈妈怀你的时候才搬来美国的。

I mean, even more because your parents, you know, moved to The US when your mom was pregnant with you.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

所以他们觉得,你没必要在班上逗人笑。我父母都是老师,他们更是这样想。

And so like, you know, they're like, we don't need you to be the one that's cracking jokes And in I had parents who were teachers.

Speaker 0

所以你看,爱搞笑的孩子,往往就是老师最头疼的那个。

So it was like, don't, like the funny kid is the one that's often like the teacher is having to deal with.

展开剩余字幕(还有 480 条)
Speaker 0

要应付这种事。

Having to deal with.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

他们叫你明迪,是因为《马尔克和明迪》这部剧。

They call you Mindy, your nickname, because from Mork and Mindy.

Speaker 2

《马尔克和明迪》。

Mork and Mindy.

Speaker 2

所以这还真是……

So it was a real

Speaker 0

这传递的信息有点矛盾。

like That's a real mixed message.

Speaker 2

我父母是七十年代移民过来的,家里没人从事娱乐行业,但他们特别喜欢喜剧。

Well, they my parents immigrated here in the seventies, and nobody in entertainment on either side of the family, but they did, like, love comedy.

Speaker 2

特别喜欢。

Loved it.

Speaker 2

对我们来说也是,每次回家,总能坐下来聊些特别深入的话题。

Like and I think for us too where it's like wasn't it like we were coming home and having, like, these, you know, always, like, these deep chats.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我们就坐在电视前,追那些必看的剧。

But we would just, like, sit in front of the TV and watch must see TV.

Speaker 2

他们特别喜欢《宋飞正传》。

They love Seinfeld.

Speaker 2

是啊。

Mhmm.

Speaker 2

他们也特别喜欢《老友记》。

They love Friends.

Speaker 2

还有《考斯比一家》。

They love The Cosby Show.

Speaker 2

是

Is

Speaker 0

这样可以吗?

that okay?

Speaker 0

当然可以。

Sure.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,我们每个人以前都这样过。

I mean, we all did at one point.

Speaker 0

以前都这样。

At one point.

Speaker 2

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 2

我记得特别清楚,大概十一二岁的时候,我特别迷《周六夜现场》。

I can say But I remember so distinctly when I was like 11 or 12 and I was, of course, like obsessed with Saturday Night Live.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我们那时候总看克里斯·法利。

We would watch Chris Farley.

Speaker 0

那就是你的那个主演阵容吗?

That was that your, like, cast?

Speaker 2

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 2

当时有桑德勒、克里斯·法利这些人。

It was like Sandler, Chris Farley.

Speaker 2

但从达纳·卡维到比尔·哈德尔,这中间隔了挺长一段时间。

But honestly, like, from Dana Carvey to Bill Hader feels like the time, which is a long span.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我们当时看的是不是马特·福利那个角色?

But we would see is it Matt Foley?

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

马特·福利。

Matt Foley.

Speaker 0

还有克里斯·法利演的那个角色,《河边》。

And character, Chris Farley's character, Down by the River.

Speaker 2

《河边》。

Down by the River.

Speaker 2

经典又标志性的角色。

Classic iconic character.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

他绝对是历史上最搞笑的演员之一。

And he's like, I think one of the funniest people of all time.

Speaker 0

我同意。

I agree.

Speaker 2

你知道吗,他有时候会摔在咖啡桌上。

And when he you know, he'd fall on the coffee table.

Speaker 2

我记得当时笑得特别厉害,还录下来给爸妈看。

And I remember laughing at it so so much and showing it to my parents, like recording it.

Speaker 2

我记得我妈特别担心,因为我那时候体重超标。

And I remember my mom being very worried and being like because I was overweight.

Speaker 2

她曾经在我十四岁左右认真地跟我谈过一次。

And I think she was like and so she was like, I don't she once sat me down when I was like 14.

Speaker 2

她说,我不希望你变成那样。

I was like, I don't want you to be like that.

Speaker 0

这真有意思。

Oh, that's really interesting.

Speaker 0

没错。

Right.

Speaker 0

别觉得你非得装成小丑才能被人喜欢。

Like, don't don't feel like you need to be a clown.

Speaker 2

她大概是觉得,我这个胖乎乎、不合主流的女儿,会以为只有学克里斯·法利那样才能被接纳、显得有趣。

And I think she thought that like, okay, my overweight daughter who's not fitting into like the mainstream of culture will feel like the way to be accepted and funny is to be like Chris Farley.

Speaker 2

现在想想,克里斯·法利的风采,恐怕连他自己都配不上自己。

Now the majesty of Chris Farley, like, would only be so lucky as to have been like Chris Farley.

Speaker 2

但作为一个九十年代中期的女孩,那条路根本行不通。

But as a girl in the mid nineties, that was like not a great path.

Speaker 0

我很高兴我们聊到这个,因为这真是个很有意思的观点——当年的年轻女性,尤其是八九十年代,想进入喜剧圈,路途真的特别艰难,而男性根本不用操心这些。

I love that we're talking about this because it's such an interesting point, which is young women, especially in the late eighties and nineties, their way into comedy, like how you get in was really fraught in a way that men just did not have to worry about.

Speaker 0

她们不用担心自己太胖、太夸张会让人反感。

They didn't have to worry about being physical and not seeming like it was putting people off.

Speaker 0

她们也不用担心自己会被过度性化。

They didn't have to worry about like them being too sexualized.

Speaker 0

她们根本不用操心这么多事。

To didn't worry about a ton of stuff.

Speaker 0

我觉得就像你小时候看喜剧,心里想着,我不知道,但我好想活在这样的世界里。

I think that much like you watching comedy at a young age and being like, I don't know, I wanna live in this world.

Speaker 0

我不知道该怎么进去。

I don't know how to get into it.

Speaker 0

而那里主要都是些声音很大、动作很夸张的男性。

And it was inhabited by really loud, physical men for the most part.

Speaker 0

然后我找到了那些我特别喜欢的女喜剧人,默默观察她们的表演。

And then finding the women who I loved, who I just kind of studied.

Speaker 0

我就想,她们到底是在哪儿学的?

And for me, it was like, okay, where did they study?

Speaker 0

这些女性是从哪里起步的?

Where did these women start?

Speaker 0

于是我决定,我要去芝加哥。

So I was like, oh, I wanna go to Chicago.

Speaker 0

我就这么直接去了。

Like, I'm just gonna go there.

Speaker 0

那你上达特茅斯的时候,也做喜剧吗?

And when you were like, did you do comedy at Dartmouth?

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你做过即兴表演吗?

Did you do improv?

Speaker 2

我做过短篇即兴表演。

I did short form improv.

Speaker 0

我们都做过。

We all did.

Speaker 0

你知道,那会儿

You know, it's

Speaker 2

特别搞笑。

so funny.

Speaker 2

大学里让我最开心的两件事,现在回想起来简直让人尴尬,但正是在那里,我结识了很多很棒的朋友。

The two things that brought me so much joy in college are so mortifying to me now, but it's where I made so many great friends.

Speaker 2

我在达特茅斯参加了狗日剧团的短篇即兴表演。

I did short form improv with the Dog Day Players at Dartmouth.

Speaker 2

太棒了。

Incredible.

Speaker 2

我

I

Speaker 0

你们那个狗日剧团还在吗?

was in Dog Day players still there?

Speaker 2

狗日剧团现在还在。

Dog Day players is still there.

Speaker 2

真厉害。

Incredible.

Speaker 2

他们时不时会来洛杉矶,我相信你也有这种感觉,每隔几年,我会去见他们,或者我回达特茅斯时能碰上。

And they're so and every so often, like every couple of years, I'm sure you feel as well, I like, they'll come to LA and I'll meet them or I'll see them at Dartmouth when I go up.

Speaker 2

他们现在特别酷,改做长篇即兴了。

And they're so cool now and they do long form.

Speaker 2

他们还搞那种学习活动,把所有剧集都看过了,没错。

And they they also have that, like, studying thing where they've seen every Yeah.

Speaker 2

《公园与游憩》《发展受阻》《拉里·桑德斯秀》全看完了。

Episode of Parks and Arrested Development, Larry Sanders.

Speaker 1

你知道

You know

Speaker 2

我的意思吧?

what I mean?

Speaker 2

对。

Yes.

Speaker 2

他们跟那些比我小二十五岁的人之间有一种亲近感。

They know Akinship to these people that are twenty five years younger than me.

Speaker 2

但不同的是,队里的男生都很支持女权,女生们也毫不畏惧地做真实的自己。

But the difference is that, like, the guys in the troop are feminist, the women are unafraid to be what to be who they are.

Speaker 2

他们基本上都算是行动派。

They're all sort of activists.

Speaker 2

就像我之前一直纠结的那些问题

Like, all the stuff that I struggled with

Speaker 0

那时候

back then

Speaker 2

去做,因为那没什么吸引力。

to do because it wasn't appealing.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我们都做过。

We all did.

Speaker 2

我当时想变得像亚当·桑德勒在《上曼哈顿》里那么搞笑,但也想要个男朋友,还想失去童贞。

I wanted to be as, like, funny as Adam Sandler into Upper Man, but I also wanted a boyfriend and to lose my virginity.

Speaker 2

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 2

到了九十年代末,这两件事好像根本没法同时实现。

And in the late nineties, it was like those two things were maybe, like, did not they seem mutually exclusive.

Speaker 0

没错。

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 0

你还参加过无伴奏合唱团。

A cappella group you were also in.

Speaker 0

我超喜欢无伴奏合唱团。

I love an a cappella group.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 2

对。

Yes.

Speaker 2

我以前在无伴奏合唱团待过。

I was in an a cappella group.

Speaker 0

你有没有唱过独唱?唱的是哪一首?

And what song did you ever have a solo?

Speaker 0

我唱过一次独唱。

I had one solo.

Speaker 0

那首歌叫什么?

And what was the song?

Speaker 2

多莉·帕顿的《Nine to Five》。

Nine to Five by Dolly Parton.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 2

就唱得难听点吧。

Sing it badly.

Speaker 2

那种情况你懂的,虽然嗓子不算好,但我至少能跟上旋律。

It was one of those things you know what's nice is like, don't have a good voice, but I have like a I can like carry a tune.

Speaker 2

我觉得我这嗓音当个搞笑角色刚好够用。

I think I have a good enough voice for a comedy person.

Speaker 2

在全是女生的团体里特别好的一点是,明明有个人嗓音最突出,该她唱主旋律,可她们就是不答应。

And it was like that nice thing about being in a group of women because they're like, clearly one person should have all the solos, but they're like, no, no, no.

Speaker 2

当然了。

Of course.

Speaker 2

那样可不够意思。

That's not nice.

Speaker 2

让敏迪唱个独唱吧。

Like, let Mindy have a solo.

Speaker 2

所以我们那时候我会唱《九到五》。

So we would I would sing nine to five.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

那个无伴奏合唱团叫什么名字?

And that acapella group's name was?

Speaker 0

嘿,老兄。

Hey, man.

Speaker 0

他们叫The Rocapillas。

It was called The Rocapillas.

Speaker 0

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

我是真的特别喜欢双关语。

I mean, I just I love I love a pun.

Speaker 2

他们叫The Rocapillas。

It's called The Rocapillas.

Speaker 2

那时候,如果你是达特茅斯的女生,觉得最酷的团体就是他们。

At the time, it was considered to be the coolest the coolest group if you were a woman at Dartmouth.

Speaker 0

那当然。

Of course.

Speaker 2

依我看来,确实挺酷的。

And I mean, from my humble opinion, it was.

Speaker 0

我觉得无伴奏合唱真的很酷。

I think acapella is very cool.

Speaker 0

而且现在我觉得它很酷,因为

And also now I would say it is cool because

Speaker 2

艾米,你这话说得也太扯了吧。

Amy, this is such a bunch of bullshit.

Speaker 2

你在这儿也太客气了,

Like, you're being so nice here,

Speaker 0

可实际上根本就没什么意思。

but it's so lame.

Speaker 0

不是。

No.

Speaker 0

不对。

No.

Speaker 0

我不同意。

I disagree.

Speaker 0

我不这么认为。

I don't.

Speaker 0

原因在这儿。

Here's why.

Speaker 0

因为就算在当时,我甚至不需要事后诸葛亮,任何敢于尝试的人

Because even then, I don't even mean in hindsight, anyone who tries something

Speaker 2

对,好吧。

Yeah, okay.

Speaker 2

那挺酷的。

That's cool.

Speaker 2

我想,如果你用‘己所不欲,勿施于人’这个原则来看,大家都该勇敢表达自己,那确实挺好的。

I guess if you apply like the golden rule of like we should all be putting ourselves out there, then it is cool.

Speaker 2

但要是有人整天瞎搞、胡言乱语,那就另当别论了。

It's But like when people being like shoopy doopy bebop.

Speaker 0

就是说,那其实——

Like, that's

Speaker 2

我懂。

I know.

Speaker 0

这跟即兴表演是一回事。

It was the same thing improv.

Speaker 0

就像即兴表演,你知道的,

Like like, improv, like, you know

Speaker 2

短篇即兴表演。

Short form improv.

Speaker 2

真难。

Tough.

Speaker 2

回想我年轻的时候,大学里我暗恋的那些男生,都在玩短篇即兴表演。

And I again, on my formative years, some of the all the boys I had crushes on in college were doing like short form improv.

Speaker 2

太糟糕了,真的太糟糕了。

Terrible, terrible.

Speaker 2

可又觉得特别没劲。

And yet it's so lame.

Speaker 2

不过长篇即兴表演倒是挺酷的。

Long form improv is cool though.

Speaker 2

单口喜剧才是最酷的。

Stand up is the coolest.

Speaker 0

那时候,要是你搞即兴或小品团体,总得准备些服装、假发,或者热身什么的。

Back then, like if you were an improv or sketch group, you'd have your like, costumes and wigs, or you'd be warming up and stuff like that.

Speaker 0

说得对。

Okay.

Speaker 0

你没错。

You're right.

Speaker 0

阿卡贝拉和即兴表演,都得热身,通常都在外面。

Acapella and improv, both you have to warm up, like, usually outside.

Speaker 2

你就在那儿zip zap地瞎闹腾。

You're like zip zap zopping.

Speaker 2

这哪算什么酷的艺术啊。

It's not a cool And art I'd

Speaker 0

我们会觉得自己很酷。

be like, we're cool.

Speaker 0

但我后来看到单口喜剧演员,穿着皮夹克,直接把烟头往地上一扔,就上台了。

But then I'd see like a stand up just literally like throw their cigarette on the ground with a leather jacket and go on stage.

Speaker 0

我当时就想,哦,原来如此。

And I'd be like, oh, okay.

Speaker 0

你离开达特茅斯之后,是搬去纽约了吗?

After you left Dartmouth, did you move to New York?

Speaker 2

我在纽约住了三年。

I lived in New York for three years.

Speaker 0

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

你之前还干过一些挺有意思的工作,我特别喜欢问别人这种稀奇古怪的兼职。

And you had some fun I always love to ask people about their fun jobs, like their weird jobs.

Speaker 0

你确实干过不少怪有意思的活儿。

You had some good weird jobs.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 2

我干过不少特别怪的活儿。

I had some really good weird jobs.

Speaker 0

都有哪些呢?

What were some

Speaker 2

你那些怪工作都是啥?

of your weird jobs?

Speaker 2

我最离谱的一份工作是给约翰·爱德华当助理,他是个通灵师,每次都在房间里给人做灵媒解读,能说准谁家过世的亲人想跟他们联系。

The weirdest job I had was that I was a PA crossing over with John Edward, the psychic And he would do readings in the room and be able to tell if someone had like a dead relative who was trying to contact them.

Speaker 0

这工作有什么奇怪的?

What was weird about it?

Speaker 2

所有这些吗?

All that?

Speaker 2

我真不敢相信你会问这个。

I can't believe you're asking.

Speaker 2

到底哪里

What was

Speaker 0

你像……?

your like?

Speaker 0

那你相信这个吗?你有没有过什么通灵方面的经历?

Now, you believe in Have you ever had a psychic experience?

Speaker 0

你会去找通灵师吗?

Do you go to psychics?

Speaker 2

我不去,不过我其实挺想去的。

I am not I don't go to psychics, but I would.

Speaker 2

我也是。

Same.

Speaker 2

而且我年纪越大,虽然懂得越多,却反而越迷信了。

And I've gotten As I've gotten older, even though I know more, I've gotten more superstitious

Speaker 0

比我

than I

Speaker 2

以前还要迷信。

used to be.

Speaker 2

借用迈克尔·斯科特的话说,我不迷信,但我有点……

To quote Michael Scott, I'm not superstitious, but I am a

Speaker 0

有点‘信’。

little 'stitious.

Speaker 0

我总觉得,你知道的,玄学这东西分很多层次,就像瑞秋·德拉奇说的那种‘woo woo’的感觉,而且这跟你生活中愿不愿意接纳它有关。

I kind of feel like, you know, there's all different levels of like woo woo, as Rachel Dratch would say, like, and whether or not you're open to it in your life.

Speaker 0

这其实挺像个悖论的,人们常说,你得特别开放,才能接收到那些东西,得把你的‘频道’打开才行。

And it is kind of a funny catch 22 where people are like, you have to be really open to it for it to like, you have to open your channel for it.

Speaker 2

我星座是最倒霉的,九型人格里也是最差的数字。

I have the most losery astrological sign and the most losery number in the Enneagrams.

Speaker 0

真的吗?

Wow.

Speaker 0

我觉得挺有意思,因为九型人格里根本没什么‘倒霉’的数字。

I love to because there's no loser number in the Enneagram.

Speaker 0

没错。

No.

Speaker 0

那你觉得自己是倒霉的巨蟹座吗?

You have what to say would you think is I'm a loser Cancer

Speaker 2

而我是六号。

and I'm six.

Speaker 2

嗯,

Well,

Speaker 0

但我觉得六号其实挺敏锐的。

but I would say six is very sharp.

Speaker 0

六型啊,其实就是——

Like a six is like-

Speaker 2

谢谢你,艾米。

Thank you, Amy.

Speaker 2

我之前说过别——

I have said don't

Speaker 0

对六型了解不多。

know that much about sixes.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

因为呢,你知道——

Because it's, you know-

Speaker 0

但六型是最常见的类型。

But it's the most common number.

Speaker 2

真的吗?

It is?

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我确实觉得这很准确。

I definitely think it's accurate.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我感觉被理解了。

I feel seen.

Speaker 2

我还没能实际用它来改善我的生活。

I haven't been able to use it practically to make my life better.

Speaker 0

发你一些有趣的动图,或者你怎么说都行。

Send you some fun GIFs or GIFs, however you like to say.

Speaker 2

好啊。

Great.

Speaker 2

我打算发一些动图。

I'm gonna send some GIFs or GIFs.

Speaker 0

我给你发一些超有趣的九型人格六号表情包,你一定会喜欢。

Send you some fun Enneagram six GIFs and GIFs that you're gonna love.

Speaker 2

我觉得它们跟《哈利·波特》里的学院特别像,你知道吧,大家都说我是。

I think they're a lot like the Harry Potter homes, you know, everyone's like, I'm

Speaker 0

格兰芬多。

a Gryffindor.

Speaker 0

你属于《哈利·波特》里的哪个学院?

What's your Harry Potter thing?

Speaker 0

对啊。

Right.

Speaker 0

我就是纯粹的斯莱特林。

I'm a straight up Slytherin.

Speaker 0

哇,这太酷了。

Dude, that's cool.

Speaker 0

斯莱特林真的很酷。

Slytherin is cool.

Speaker 0

我真希望自己是斯莱特林的。

I wish I was a Slytherin.

Speaker 2

那你呢?

What are you?

Speaker 0

我本来想当格兰芬多,但算了,我觉得我是赫奇帕奇,这样也挺好。

Wanna be a Gryffindor, but no, I think I'm a Hufflepuff, which is also fine.

Speaker 2

我想反驳你,但你听我说。

I wanna refute it, but listen.

Speaker 0

行吧。

All right.

Speaker 0

我说了,我这就回你。

Say, I'm right back at you.

Speaker 0

好。

Okay.

Speaker 0

不过咱们还是回到刚才那个话题。

But back to Okay.

Speaker 0

你之前做过一些挺有意思的工作,但我现在想聊聊马特和本,那档节目我记得很清楚,对没看过的人来讲,马特和本到底是什么?

So you had some interesting jobs, but I wanna talk about Matt and Ben for a second because that show was, I remember when that show For people that don't know, what was Matt and Ben?

Speaker 2

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 2

好吧。

Okay.

Speaker 2

那时候我正在给人当保姆,

So I was babysitting at

Speaker 0

那会儿,

the

Speaker 2

我朋友是个代课老师,就是你公立学校的代课老师,叫布伦达。

time, and my friend was a substitute teacher, and your public school substitute teacher, my friend Brenda.

Speaker 2

我们俩那时候都挺郁闷的。

And we were kinda miserable.

Speaker 2

我申请过NBC的实习生项目,本来觉得自己肯定能被录取,结果没成。

And I had applied to be a page at the NBC page program, and I was certain I was gonna get it, and then I didn't.

Speaker 2

那时候我们就是那种低落的状态,9·11之后,工作上也没什么盼头。

And so we were just kind of like low level depressed post nine eleven just like in jobs.

Speaker 2

我干嘛非得待在纽约呢?

Like, why am I even in New York?

Speaker 2

我根本接触不到任何机会。

Like, I have no access to anything.

Speaker 2

于是我们开始即兴发挥,我模仿起了所谓的本·阿弗莱克——毕竟我们根本一点都不了解他们。

And we started just improvising and I kind of adopted this character of like Ben Affleck in quotations because obviously we didn't know them at all.

Speaker 2

她则演马特·达蒙。

And she did Matt Damon.

Speaker 2

我们就这样演着,一演就是十来分钟,甚至十五分钟。

And then we were like, we'd just be doing these characters for like ten, fifteen minutes.

Speaker 2

我们就开始想,这能不能做成点正经事,而不只是自己找乐子?

And we're like, could we do something with this actually as opposed to just like entertaining ourselves?

Speaker 2

可她所有的朋友都觉得这太傻了。

And all of her friends thought it was so stupid.

Speaker 2

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

很好

Great.

Speaker 2

于是我们决定写一个小剧,讲朋友之间创作过程中的竞争,这话题我其实一直很感兴趣。

And we Great said, like, let's write a little play about the creative process between friends and competition, which has been interesting to me for a long, long time.

Speaker 2

就是那种彼此深爱,却又暗自较劲的朋友之间的竞争。

And competition between friends who you dearly love each other, but you're also looking out for yourself.

Speaker 2

那时候我们才二十一二岁,却在写我们想象中,二十出头的马特·达蒙和本·阿弗莱克会是什么样子。

And we were we were 21 or 22 writing about what we imagined Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were when they were 21, 22.

Speaker 2

简直疯了。

It's so psychotic.

Speaker 2

要是我是马特·达蒙或者本·阿弗莱克,我肯定觉得这太离谱了。

Like, if I was Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, I'd be like, this is Have

Speaker 0

你有跟他们聊过这事吗?

you ever talked to them about it?

Speaker 0

我见过

I have met

Speaker 2

我见过马特·达蒙一次,是的。

Matt Damon once Mhmm.

Speaker 2

本·阿弗莱克我见过几次。

And Ben Affleck like a handful of times.

Speaker 2

我觉得他们觉得这挺奇怪的。

And I think they think it's weird.

Speaker 2

这可是个真人啊。

This is a real person.

Speaker 2

他们一直都很友善。

They've been been nothing but gracious.

Speaker 2

当然了。

Of course.

Speaker 2

真是挺奇怪的。

Very strange thing.

Speaker 2

要是有人演话剧,把明迪·卡林的角色给演了,我可不会客气。

I would not be nice if someone was playing Mindy Kaling in a play.

Speaker 2

我会让我的律师去收拾他们。

I would try to destroy them with my lawyers.

Speaker 2

我的律师团队会扑上去,把他们彻底碾碎。

My team of lawyers would descend upon them and crush them.

Speaker 2

不过话说回来,也得承认他们做得不错,而且本也演了

But to their credit, and Ben played

Speaker 0

你呢?

you?

Speaker 0

那应该会挺有意思的。

That would be pretty fun.

Speaker 2

我会让我的律师团队把他彻底搞定。

I'd I'd try to crush him with my lawyers.

Speaker 0

这招挺聪明的。

That's smart.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

直接发个停止函吧,宝贝。

Just cease and desist, babe.

Speaker 1

干脆

Just straight

Speaker 0

直接走人。

away.

Speaker 0

比如把剧院的门用挂锁锁上。

Like go padlock the theater door.

Speaker 2

我要把你那些好会计挣的钱全踢出去。

I'm gonna kick all that good accountant money from you.

Speaker 0

连会计一起算上。

And the accountant too.

Speaker 0

我记得当时我就想,这太激进了。

I remember even at the time I was like, this is radical.

Speaker 0

因为那正是两个年轻女性在揣摩,像马特和本这样的年轻男性,一起工作、共同面对生活时心里会想些什么。

Because it was exactly, it was like two young women kind of assuming what would be like in the heads of like, you know, they were Matt and Ben were archetypes for just like young men like working together and figuring out life together.

Speaker 0

我记得你们拍这部剧的时候,我就觉得这太突破了。

And I remember you guys making that show, and I was like, this is radical.

Speaker 0

这简直让人惊叹。

This is like Oh my god.

Speaker 2

确实太

That's so

Speaker 0

没错。

It was.

Speaker 0

真的很酷。

It was very cool.

Speaker 2

谢谢你这么说。

Well, thank you for saying it.

Speaker 2

能不用在意外表,真的让人特别自由。

I mean, it was so liberating to not have to worry about being pretty.

Speaker 2

我们当时穿得像男人一样。

Like we were dressed as men.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

显然,我们并不是第一个玩这种风格的,但能真正体验一把扮男人的乐趣,真的很过瘾。

It was obviously, we didn't invent camp, but we got to discover how fun it was to just play men but really real.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

而且特别自在,完全不用操心那些同龄人纠结的事,毕竟剧本是我们写的,导演也是自己来。

And it was great to just we didn't have to worry about any of the things that our contemporaries were kind of worrying about because we wrote the script, we directed it ourselves.

Speaker 2

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

后来是去了边缘电影节,对吧?

It went to like Fringe, right,

Speaker 2

埃德·蒙罗?

Ed Monroe?

Speaker 2

所以我们是在边缘艺术节上演的。

So we did it at the Fringe Festival.

Speaker 2

我们成功入选了边缘艺术节。

We got into the Fringe Festival.

Speaker 2

我们在边缘艺术节拿了奖,之后就搬到了百老汇外的剧场。

We won the Fringe Festival, then it moved off Broadway.

Speaker 2

那时候才开始有人注意到这部剧。

And that's when it started getting, like, attention.

Speaker 2

那时候有几位名人特意来看了演出。

That's when, like, a couple celebrities came and saw it.

Speaker 2

也就是从那时起,它才搬到洛杉矶,我也因此得到了《办公室》的工作机会。

And that's how it moved to LA and how I got hired on The Office.

Speaker 2

你从马特和

You go from Matt and

Speaker 0

本,一下子变成了《办公室》编剧室里唯一的女性。

Ben to basically being the only woman in a writer's room at The Office.

Speaker 0

你是那个房间里唯一的女性,也是唯一的女性有色人种,而那群男性个个聪明绝顶、才华横溢又待人友善,但那毕竟是你的第一份工作。

You are the only woman and the only woman of color in an incredibly smart, hyper talented, and nice group of men, but still it is your first job.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

你是从那个圈子里出来的。

I mean, you come from that world.

Speaker 2

那地方竞争激烈。

It's competitive.

Speaker 2

所以我觉得,当时走进那个房间,现在很多人可能会说,真不敢相信你居然能进《办公室》剧组。

And it's like And so I think that going into that room, like a lot of people now will be like, wow, I can't believe you got hired in the office.

Speaker 2

你当时那么年轻。

You were so young.

Speaker 2

你一定感觉特别棒。

You must feel so great.

Speaker 2

而我回头看那些和我一起工作的人,他们从21岁就开始干了,早就拿过艾美奖了。

And you were like looking And when I look at the people who were I was working with, they had been working since they were 21, you know, and had already had Emmys.

Speaker 2

所以我还是觉得自己落后了。

So I still felt like I was behind.

Speaker 2

不过我也得说,我简直是个工作狂。

So I think, but I will say also, like, I was such a workaholic.

Speaker 2

幸好我在洛杉矶没什么朋友,也没什么爱好,整天就埋头工作。

It helped that I was like friendless in Los Angeles and had no hobbies because I was just obsessed with work.

Speaker 2

我被迈克、B.J.、保罗·利伯斯坦、格雷格这些人深深吸引,你知道的。

I was dazzled by like Mike, BJ, Paul Lieberstein, Greg, you know?

Speaker 2

换谁不被吸引呢?

And who wouldn't be?

Speaker 2

我以前从来没进过编剧室。

Like, I had never been in a writer's room.

Speaker 2

结果我跟这些家伙一起工作,他们直到今天都被认为是顶尖的喜剧编剧。

And then I'm with these guys who are like, even to this day, considered some of the very best comedy writers.

Speaker 2

后来还有李·艾森伯格、吉恩·斯蒂普尼茨基,同样让人惊叹。

Then later, like Lee Eisenberg, Gene Stipnitsky, like, just as dazzling.

Speaker 2

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 2

所以我特别想给他们留下好印象。

And so I really wanted to impress them.

Speaker 2

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我还真想和其中一些人约会。

I really wanted to date some of them.

Speaker 2

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 2

没错

Right.

Speaker 2

我在这些行业里的成功程度各不相同。

And I was varying degrees of successful in those industries.

Speaker 2

当

And when

Speaker 0

Kelly Kapoor,那个角色是这么写的吗?你是怎么发现自己要参演这部剧的?

Kelly Kapoor, was that written like, how did how did you find out you were gonna

Speaker 2

我是怎么拿到这个角色的?我觉得BJ写了一集叫《多样性日》的剧本。

be on the show?

Speaker 2

然后

The way that I got the part was I think BJ had written this episode called Diversity Day.

Speaker 0

对

And

Speaker 2

我觉得这是《办公室》里最好笑的一集之一。

one of I think one of the funniest episodes in The Office ever.

Speaker 2

太精彩了。

Incredible.

Speaker 2

然后格雷格决定把它放在第二集。

And Greg decided that it would be the second episode.

Speaker 2

为了让这一集好笑,比如迈克尔·斯科特冒犯了一屋子的人,如果全是白人,那就不那么好笑了,你得冒犯到一些人。

And in order for it to be funny that, like, Michael Scott was offending a room of people, it didn't wasn't as funny if it was just like all white, like you needed to be offending some people.

Speaker 2

所以我特别幸运,作为印度裔能进编剧室,他当时就问:你要不要演一个被他冒犯然后被打的人?

And so I was so lucky to be in the writer's room and being Indian because he's like, would you play someone that he offends and then slaps him?

Speaker 2

其实我只想着能当一辈子喜剧编剧就心满意足了。

And I was I mean, I was just content to be a comedy writer for the rest of my life.

Speaker 2

这简直是我梦想成真。

That was like my dream come true.

Speaker 2

能上镜头,简直太不可思议了。

So to be on camera was like just like outrageous.

Speaker 2

我觉得《办公室》最突破的一点是,那时候在电视剧里,你根本不用非得是个标准意义上的美女。

The one thing I think is so groundbreaking about The Office was that at that time, the odds, to be on a show where you didn't have to be like a straightforwardly hot woman.

Speaker 2

对。

Yes.

Speaker 2

关键就在于,这其实是格雷格·丹尼尔斯的风格。

Like the whole point is, you know, and this is a real Greg Daniels thing.

Speaker 2

真正美的,是真实的东西。

It's like, what is beautiful is what is real.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 2

那时候这样的节目可不多。

And that wasn't very many shows.

Speaker 0

没错。

That's right.

Speaker 2

我也特别喜欢,我相信你也有同感。

That's I also like love, and I'm sure you feel this way too.

Speaker 2

其实你可能不这么觉得,但我超爱当个网络迷因。

Actually, maybe you don't, but I love being a meme.

Speaker 2

这让我觉得自己还年轻。

It makes me feel young.

Speaker 0

你开玩笑吧?

Are you kidding me?

Speaker 0

别人给我发梗的时候,我简直梦寐以求,我甚至想过,我能主动发自己的梗给别人吗?

It's my dream when people send me Like, I've actually been like, can I send people my own memes?

Speaker 2

快去吧。

Oh, do it.

Speaker 2

这简直太

It's such

Speaker 0

可能会出大问题。

a It big might drop.

Speaker 0

再没有比这更高的赞美了。

It is There's no higher compliment.

Speaker 2

我老是把凯莉说‘今天简直疯了’这段话做成表情包发给戴夫和艾克。

I send people memes of Kelly saying this day is bananas all day long to Dave and Ike

Speaker 0

把凯莉和卡普尔相提并论,在我看来,就是年轻人说的那种自带主角光环的人。

I mean, reference Kelly to Kapoor is the, to me, the definition of what the young people would say, like someone who has main character energy.

Speaker 2

她确实有那种

Like, she does have She

Speaker 0

她活在自己的世界里,自己的剧里。

is in her own world, her own show, and in that show.

Speaker 0

当个有趣的人挺好的

It's fun to be

Speaker 2

我觉得她虽然是个配角,但给人的感觉完全是个主角

and nice I think to be, you know, she is a tertiary character but believe she's a main character.

Speaker 2

这真的特别棒

That's like a really nice.

Speaker 2

她每三集才说一句话

She has one line every three episodes.

Speaker 0

对啊

Yeah.

Speaker 0

她总活在自己的激烈戏码和戏剧里

She's in her own very like intense play and drama forever.

Speaker 0

一部好剧会慢慢发现角色的特质,然后顺势去强化这些特点,写作者也会意识到这一点

And then the show does like, I would say like any good character, like the show, like, you know, and you know from writing, like you start to realize like what people's strengths are and you start to write to it.

Speaker 0

剧集渐渐明白,凯莉擅长的就是那种充满竞争感的幻想世界,所以我们才老让她投三分球——毕竟大家就是喜欢看这个

The show starts to realize like, oh, what Kelly can do is like be in this kind of fierce competitive fantasy world that can allow us to like like, you shoot a lot of threes in that show because you like Thank you.

Speaker 0

这个角色能展现出特别尖锐又搞笑的一面。

They that that character is able to go to some really sharp and funny places.

Speaker 2

她觉得自己是办公室里最性感的人。

Well, she thinks she's the hottest person at the office.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

真替帕姆感到可怜。

Like feels bad for Pam.

Speaker 2

她确实如此。

She is.

Speaker 2

而且觉得瑞安是个绝佳的对象。

You know, and thinks like Ryan's a huge catch.

Speaker 2

还认为自己注定会出名。

And that she's like destined for you know, fame.

Speaker 2

所以演这种自以为是的角色特别有意思。

And so that is a fun I mean, it's so fun to play like delusional characters.

Speaker 2

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 2

然后能在《明迪计划》里演另一个完全不同的妄想型角色,也挺好的。

And then to be able to then be delusional on the Mindy project with a different character was Okay.

Speaker 0

不错。

Good.

Speaker 0

这正好带出我想说的,你写的《办公室》剧集比谁都多。

That's a good segue because you go from you I just wanna say you ended up writing more Office episodes than anybody else.

Speaker 2

谢谢你这么说。

Thank you for saying that.

Speaker 0

明白。

Okay.

Speaker 0

这点大家都知道一下。

So everybody needs to know that.

Speaker 0

所以你们所有喜欢的、每晚都在看的《办公室》剧集,有很大概率

So all your Office episodes that you love, that everybody's watching every night, there's high probability

Speaker 2

你这么说,Mindy的公关团队还特意提醒我,说这是个必须传达的关键点,Amy。

You're that saying Mindy wrote like my publicist was like, this is a talking point that needs to come across, Amy.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,跟你聊这个我永远都聊不腻,可能听起来太圈内了,但你当初入行的时候,就是以编剧身份进来的。

I mean, I could talk about this with you forever, maybe it's too kind of inside baseball, but the way you enter the business, you entered the business as a writer.

Speaker 0

就在那段时间,你又开始演戏,同时还当起了制片人。

And then like in that same time became a performer and you're also a producer.

Speaker 0

这三重身份各有各的利弊。

And all those things have like different pros and cons.

Speaker 0

你真的是为了Mindy这部剧才这么做的。

You really did do it for Mindy.

Speaker 0

你当时就说:我要自己写、自己创、自己主演这部剧。

Created you were like, I'm gonna write, create, and star in this show.

Speaker 0

这绝对是件最难的事。

And there's there's nothing harder.

Speaker 2

确实没有比这更难的了。

There's nothing harder.

Speaker 2

再也没有比这更让人满足的了。

And there's nothing more gratifying.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

我当时简直着了魔。

Like, I was so obsessed with it.

Speaker 2

而且我之前在那家公司待了八年,每集都有我的戏份。

Mean, and then coming from the office where I had been there for eight years, had like a line every episode.

Speaker 2

我最近在想,比如拍摄表这类事。

You know, I was thinking about like, recently, just like call sheets.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

对不了解的人解释一下,拍摄表其实就是每天公布整个制作团队的等级排序。

And to be like the call sheet for people who don't know, but they might know is, you know, it's every day it just announces the hierarchy of the production.

Speaker 0

我特别喜欢看拍摄表。

I love a call sheet so much.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

如果有人不了解,我都能一直盯着看。

I could stare at it forever for people that don't know.

Speaker 0

这张纸能告诉你一整天、一整周、一整月,甚至在很多方面,告诉你整个人生。

It's one piece of paper that tells you your entire day, week, month, and in many ways, your life.

Speaker 0

你说得一点都没错。

You're exactly right.

Speaker 0

它告诉你谁是第一主角,谁是第二,第三,第四。

It tells you who is number one, who is number two, who is number three, who is number four.

Speaker 2

它列出了现场所有人的重要程度,按顺序排下来。

It lists the importance and descending order of the people that are there.

Speaker 2

所以那部剧拍了这么多年,显而易见,史蒂夫排第一,演迈克尔·斯科特,凯莉排第十一。

And so for years on that show, as is obvious and and should be, like, Steve is number one playing Michael Scott, and Kelly is number 11.

Speaker 2

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 2

那时候哪能想到,就说第一季,我纯粹是运气好,第二集就能跟史蒂夫同框,还能加入演员工会,真的演上戏了。

And it's not like, you know, to come at the we just talked about the first season when I was just lucky to have that first, you know, in episode two, being able to be in that scene with Steve and to be able to be in SAG and be able to actually do all that.

Speaker 2

这事儿可太重要了。

That's huge.

Speaker 2

但八年之后,是啊,排第十一确实有点腻了。

But eight years later Yeah.

Speaker 2

我就想,能不能换个角色,多说点台词。

I was like, number 11 gets a little old.

Speaker 2

我真的特别想试试,到底当一个节目的笑点核心是什么感觉。

And I was like, I really wanna see what it's like to literally just have more lines.

Speaker 2

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

还想试试能不能扛起整部剧的喜剧节奏。

And to be able to take on the thing of like being the comedy engine of a show.

Speaker 2

我跟艾克聊过很多次这个,我觉得你在《公园与游憩》里,还有在《周六夜现场》的时候,应该也经历过类似的事。

And I, you know, I talked to Ike a lot about this, and I think you did this with Parks and probably on SNL too.

Speaker 2

但说实话,能当情景喜剧的主角,并且从早上七点开工到收工,全程保持高能量输出,这真是一项本事。

But like, it's a skill to be able to be the star of a sitcom and come in and just be like, my engine is on from 07:00 in the morning until we wrap.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

而且我得想办法激发出其他人最好的状态,还得在早上第一时间就把他们叫醒。

And I am just like, had to bring the best out of other people and wake them up first thing

Speaker 0

在早上。

in the morning.

Speaker 0

有点像那种常驻主持人。

And kinda like a constant host.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

而且就是,你……

And it's And you

Speaker 0

一整天都看着人们陆续离开。

were watching people leave all day.

Speaker 0

那正是

That was the

Speaker 2

另一件事,那可是周五晚上啊。

other thing that was so That's Friday night.

Speaker 2

你只是不停地挥手告别。

You're just waving

Speaker 0

大家都说:周末愉快。

And everyone's they're like, have a good weekend.

Speaker 0

你也一样。

You're like, you too.

Speaker 0

这简直是最让人伤感的道别了。

Like, it's just the saddest goodbye.

Speaker 0

但与此同时,

But at the same time,

Speaker 2

我觉得那几天过得特别快,比我在办公室坐班的时候快多了。

I felt like the days were so much shorter than when I had one line at the office.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

因为一天下来全是搞笑的片段,时间不知不觉就过去了。

Like the day flows by because it's just like funny scene after funny scene.

Speaker 2

整个部门的人都在那儿帮你把工作做到最好。

Entire departments who are there to help you do your job the best.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

你懂的?

You know?

Speaker 2

那真的是一种巨大的快乐。

And that was like such a joy.

Speaker 2

说到成为自己生活的主角,这一点再明显不过了。

And it's so obvious to say this about being a star of your own show.

Speaker 2

但对我来说,那就是我一直渴望的,能够组建自己的编剧团队。

But like that was it was what I was longing for and to assemble my own writing staff.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

其中很多人,比如兰格·费舍尔、特蕾西·威格菲尔德、艾克、戴夫,还有尤阿伦,

So many of whom like Lang Fisher, Tracy Wigfield, Ike, Dave You are on

《四季与蒂娜》。

Four Seasons with Tina.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

能和这些让我变得更好、给我启发的人一起工作,真是太好了。

And so to be able to work with all these people that made me better, inspired me.

Speaker 2

咱们聊聊我们的朋友艾克吧,

And Let's talk about our friend Ike,

Speaker 0

巴伦霍尔特,他当时也在那儿,你在这档节目里见过他。

Barenholt who was here and who you met on that show.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

还有戴夫·斯塔森。

And Dave Stassen.

Speaker 0

这些人啊,就说艾克吧,他现在正听着呢。

Those guys are I mean, let's just Ike is Ike is listening.

Speaker 0

咱们得说点好听的夸夸他。

So we should say something nice about him.

Speaker 2

咱们确实该夸夸他。

We should say something nice about him.

Speaker 0

瞧我们,还特意照顾这位白人兄弟

Look at us making sure that the white guy

Speaker 1

让他感觉被妥善对待

is taken care of.

Speaker 0

让他感到安心

Feel comfortable

Speaker 2

而且被看见

and seen.

Speaker 0

看看我们自己

Look at us.

Speaker 2

就是因为他这个人就是这样,他会为咱们做这种事

It's just because, you know, his personality is that, like, he would he would do that for us.

Speaker 2

他真的会这么做

He would.

Speaker 0

还有件事,你之前提到《明迪计划》,其实从很多方面来说,这都是对妈妈的一种致敬

The other thing is that I love that you've spoken about with Mindy Project is like in many ways, it is a tribute to your mom.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

而且因为你妈妈是妇产科护士,医生。

And because your mom is an OBGYN nurse, doctor.

Speaker 0

医生,对。

Doctor, yeah.

Speaker 0

不好意思。

Sorry.

Speaker 0

妇产科医生。

OB GYN doctor.

Speaker 2

对印度人来说,这差别可大了。

For Indian people, that's a huge distinction.

Speaker 0

懂的。

Know.

Speaker 0

我刚才是不是突然跑来打扰你了?

Was so Did I just come for you now?

Speaker 0

不是。

No.

Speaker 0

好吧。

Okay.

Speaker 0

因为她并不是那种正式的医生。

So she because she wasn't a doctor doctor.

Speaker 0

她确实是医生。

She was a doctor.

Speaker 0

她是女医生。

She was a woman doctor.

Speaker 2

当然,当然。

Surely, surely.

Speaker 2

她当时在做记录,而那位男医生

She was taking notes and the male doctor

Speaker 0

对,男医生会进来,是的。

was Yeah, male doctor would come in and Yeah.

Speaker 0

宝宝?不是,但你这个角色其实是在向她和你妈妈致敬。

The baby No, but your character was kind of a tribute to her and your mom.

Speaker 0

你能聊聊你妈妈吗?

Can you speak a little bit about your mom?

Speaker 0

你总是提到她,她真的……

You spoke you speak about her all the time and she's

Speaker 2

我特别喜欢聊我妈妈的事。

I so loved just talked to about my mom.

Speaker 2

《明迪烦事多》里的那个角色,和我妈妈的性格简直天差地别。

So the character on The Mindy Project, I mean, couldn't have been more different than my mom's personality.

Speaker 2

但我特别享受扮演妇产科医生的这个世界。

But I loved the world of playing an OB GYN.

Speaker 2

我妈妈性格特别好,她整天跟女性打交道,听她们倾诉最私密的事——关于感情、生育的期望,还有各种各样的烦恼。

My mom's had such a great personality because she spent her entire day with women, telling who told her the most personal things about their love lives and reproductive hopes and just everything and all their problems.

Speaker 2

这是一种非常私密的关系。

It's such a personal relationship.
