So let's talk about IELTS listening part one first.

What can students expect in part one of the listening test?

Yeah, these are conversations about daily topics.

So let's get to describing what the questions look like.

这是笔记填空题。

This is a note completion question.

碰到笔记填空题的时候，各位，卷面上已经有很多信息了。

When there's a note completion question, guys, there will be a lot of information there already.

已经有好多记好的笔记了。

There's a lot of notes there already done.

通常会有一些要点提示。

Usually, there's bullet points there.

就是以笔记的形式写的。

It's just in note form.

对吧？

Right?

但是有一些信息是缺失的。

But there's a few pieces of information missing.

对吧？

Right?

而那些就是你需要回答的问题。

And those are the questions that you have to answer.

所以不要跳过已经给出的信息。

So don't skip the information that's already there.

我觉得这是学生们常犯的错误。

I think that's a mistake students make.

在听之前，你需要把笔记上的所有内容都读一遍，因为这样能帮你在听的时候跟上节奏。

You need to read everything on those notes before you listen because that helps you keep track while you're listening.

所有这些信息都是按顺序排列的。

All of that information is in order.

你不能只盯着第一题，等着它出现。

You can't just stare at question one and wait for it to come.

对吧？

Right?

那样你会来不及的。

You won't be ready.

You have to track the conversation by tracking all the words that are already there.

So you can make sure go there so that you can see what a note completion looks like.

You want to check for keywords when you read these questions.

So you know the signpost words to look for as you're tracking in the audio.

So this looks like a table and the first title says river adventure.

So it's gonna be someone talking to a travel agent.

So that's the title.

And there's information under that on the note question.

And it says, big sailboat goes out three times a day.

So I would underline sailboat and three times.

So I would listen for those words so I know where I'm at in the audio.

And then the next part of the table says, first stop with another bullet.

这就是我们的第一个问题。

And here's our first question.

上面写着：'can'，后面是空格。

It says, can blank.

所以第一个空是在悬崖底部。

So the number one blank at the bottom of cliffs.

所以“悬崖”绝对是个关键词。

So cliffs is definitely a keyword.

你得把它划下来，然后在这里做预测，对吧？

You're going to want to underline that and making predictions here, right?

This is clearly going to be some type of activity that you can do at the bottom of these cliffs.

Yeah.

So predict word form.

What are you listening for?

Here, we're listening for a verb.

Can you even predict what that is?

And then there's another title.

It says second stop.

Right?

So these are the places that the boat is stopping at.

And here is number two.

It says Blank Church.

So Circle Church, that's a keyword.

I'm listening for that.

And I'm listening for some sort of description of the church, maybe the name of the church.

So either like an adjective or a noun I'm listening for.

And then it says, brewery next door with tastings.

所以我在啤酒厂下面划线，在品酒下面划线。

So I underline brewery, I underline tastings.

Right?

I'm gonna track those words as I listen.

And that's such a good such good advice that you gave here, Jessica.

这个要点，隔壁有品酒活动的啤酒厂，这里没有问号。

This bullet point, Brewery Next Door with Tastings, there's no question there.

没有需要填写的数字。

There's no number in blank.

所以我觉得很多学生可能会犯的错误就是直接跳过这一条，直接去做下一题。

So I think a lot of students might make the mistake of just skipping that one, going right to the next question.

而实际上，这能帮你跟上音频的进度。

Whereas this is going to help you keep track of where you are in the audio.

所以你确实需要注意那里的关键词。

So you definitely want to pay attention to keywords there as well.

Yep.

Continuing on here, the next is a the next bullet point is a question.

它写着：额外支付____。

It says pay extra for blank.

好。

Okay.

那么，额外支付是为了什么呢？

So pay extra for what?

那应该是个名词，对吧？

It'll be a noun probably, right?

可能是某种食物或者体验，你懂吧？

Maybe some sort of food or experience, you know?

那今天最后一个问题是什么？

And then what's the last question today?

最后一个要点写的是“take”，然后这是个填空题。

And the last bullet point says take, and then this is a question.

第四题这里有一个空。

There's a blank here for number four.

在荒原上的一个空。

Blank on the moors.

所以是你能带走的东西，对吧？

So something you can take, right?

这里你得猜某种旅行或冒险。

Some kind of trip adventure you want to predict here.

这个也会是名词。

This will also be a noun.

就是你可以带走的东西。

Something that you can take.

Exactly.

There is an opportunity to swim though at the base of the most stunning cliffs.

Now let's talk about the answers.

So the first question was can blank at the bottom of the cliffs?

So the answer is swim.

她说的原话不完全一样。

And what she says, it's not exactly the same.

对吧？

Right?

这是同义表达。

It's parallel expressions.

她说的是，在最壮观的悬崖底部，还是有机会游泳的。

She says, there is an opportunity to swim though at the base of the most stunning cliffs.

所以base和bottom是同一个意思。

So base is the same as bottom.

而里面唯一能用作答案的动词也只有swim。

And the only other verb in there that can be the answer is swim.

不错。

Nice.

这下一道题，雅思常常在拼写难的单词和名字上帮到你。

This next one, IELTS helps you out often with words that might be difficult to spell and names.

而这里就是他们这么做。

And that's what they do here.

这下一道题有个空后面是church，你可能会听到他们提到 Flanagan church 然后就开始慌，不知道该怎么拼。

This next one you have blank church, and you might hear them say the Flanagan church and panic, not knowing how to spell that.

但幸运的是，如果是我考这个试，他们一旦说“能请你拼一下吗？”，我就会松一口气。

But luckily, would if I were taking this test, I'd be like, whew, thank goodness when they say, can you spell that please?

然后他们就会把拼写告诉我。

Then they spell it out for me.

对，各位，任何时候你在听力第一部分听到某个词被拼写出来，这挺常见的，那通常就是答案。

Yeah, guys, anytime you hear something spelled out in part one of the listening, which happens quite often, that is an answer.

Okay?

Or else they wouldn't bother spelling it.

All right.

So number three was pay extra for blank.

So we predicted either a noun or an experience of some sort.

And the answer is Pints or beer.

Both of those would be acceptable because she says both of those words.

不错。

Nice.

然后最后一题，在荒野上做什么。

And then the last one, take blank on the moors.

这里可以填照片或者散步，因为录音里都提到了，说游客特别喜欢在荒野后面散步，而且这也是拍照的好机会。

And this is either photos or a walk because both are said here that tourists absolutely love walking behind the moors and it's an opportunity to take photos.

所以两个答案都行。

So both would work.

但要注意，语法必须匹配，对吧？

But notice you must make the grammar match, right?

如果你写的是walking，也就是录音里出现的那个词，那就不对了，因为不能说take walking on the moors。

If you write walking, which is what is in the audio, it will be incorrect because you can't say take walking on the moors.

对。

Right.

所以记住，不一定是逐字对应的。

So remember, it can't it won't always be word for word.

很多时候如果是动词，你需要确保语法和题目匹配。

Often when it's a verb, you'll need to make sure the grammar matches the question.

对，没错。

Yeah, exactly.

Exactly.

And I mean, you should just write photos, right?

That's answer I think is most obvious.

雅思很少要求你改变语法。

IELTS will rarely require you to change the grammar.

You almost always write exactly what you hear the speaker say.
