Today is Tuesday, 09/29/2026, and we begin with weather attention switching from the East Coast to the West, where a powerful Pacific hurricane is kicking up wicked surf in Southern California.

Polo is the storm's name, and the risk of coastal flooding threatened what is believed to be a first.

Olive Ridley's sea turtle eggs laid along Seal Beach and Huntington Beach, hundreds of miles north of where they typically nest.

He's a hawk named El Charro.
