Speaker 2

I only got the sports mom things.

Speaker 0

哦。

Speaker 0

You didn't?

Speaker 0

It's so don't it's almost sold out.

Speaker 0

This is one of my favorite t shirts I've ever had in my life.

Speaker 0

Like, whether it was LadyGang merch or not, I wear it almost every day.

Speaker 0

It's the perfect t shirt.

Speaker 0

It's like the black, but it's like a What little size I'm did you gonna order one.

Speaker 2

I got a medium.

Speaker 2

God, I hope it's not sold out.

Speaker 2

Well, I do for our sake, but I also really want it.

Speaker 2

Think it's medium.

Speaker 2

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 2

它就是

It's

Speaker 1

so good.

Speaker 2

I tell

Speaker 0

you how many there are right now.

Speaker 2

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 2

Thank you.

Speaker 1

Thank you.

Speaker 2

I'll go I'll just be really quick.

Speaker 2

So I'll it's time for

Speaker 1

Good Week.

Speaker 1

Yes.

Speaker 1

It is.

Speaker 1

Bad Week.

Speaker 1

Oh, no.

Speaker 2

Isn't it so fun when you're listening to a podcast and they're just, like, rushing through it?

Speaker 2

Just like, I'll be really quick.

Speaker 2

And everyone's like, why?

Speaker 2

Why?

Speaker 2

I'm here to listen to you.

Speaker 0

It's like you're listening.

Speaker 0

You don't

Speaker 1

have to be quick.

Speaker 2

I'm like, I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2

Let me just say one thing.

Speaker 2

That's literally how I feel

Speaker 1

all the time when I talk.

Speaker 1

Like, let me just rush through this because I know nobody cares.

Speaker 0

And then there are eight eight LadyGang for Lovers t shirts left.

Speaker 2

Period.

Speaker 2

Not even just in what sizes?

Speaker 0

Or are There's actually one of every size left.

Speaker 2

Oh, yes.

Speaker 0

Wait, let me see.

Speaker 2

对。

Yep.

Speaker 2

没错。

Yes.

Speaker 0

Go get them girls.

Speaker 2

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 2

Get them girls.

Speaker 2

行了。

All right.

Speaker 2

So my Bad Week actually has to do with attire.

Speaker 2

I was invited to this Natalie Crawford was a doctor that we had on.

Speaker 2

She's amazing.

Speaker 2

She's incredible.

Speaker 2

She lives in Austin.

Speaker 2

I've just been sort of following on Instagram, sending people to her just because I've heard such good things.

Speaker 2

I've never met her in person.

Speaker 2

We did the podcast and then she had a book launch in Austin that a friend of mine threw.

Speaker 2

And I got the invite a couple weeks ago.

Speaker 2

And nowadays, don't you feel like the invites that are digital, you get like weird text messages from weird numbers confirming things, then you get the email.

Speaker 2

It's, I don't like it at all.

Speaker 2

It's just confusing.

Speaker 2

I've stopped really looking back.

Speaker 2

Like when I know something's coming, I put it in the calendar and then I don't look at the invitation again.

Speaker 2

Right?

Speaker 2

Well, I it's a Sunday night.

Speaker 2

I'm getting ready to go to this event.

Speaker 2

I'm, you know, I get dressed.

Speaker 2

I blah, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker 2

I walk up to the front door and I see a bunch of women in beautiful cocktail dresses.

Speaker 2

Am wearing

Speaker 0

jeans.

Speaker 0

I am

Speaker 2

wearing the most distressed Zara jeans you've ever seen in your life.

Speaker 2

Like Like we're not even wearing distressed denim anymore.

Speaker 2

Are we?

Speaker 2

Are you a baby?

Speaker 2

12.

Speaker 2

I had, I was rushing to get ready.

Speaker 2

Distressed jeans.

Speaker 2

It's a Sunday in my defense.

Speaker 2

Like it's a Sunday.

Speaker 2

And then a, and a button down that had not been, not been ironed, like an oversized button down.

Speaker 2

It was horrible.

Speaker 1

You gave

Speaker 0

her bare minimum Becca.

Speaker 2

I did.

Speaker 2

And I didn't even mean to, but I just, I was horrified.

Speaker 2

I the photographer was walking around the party.

Speaker 2

They were taking pictures.

Speaker 0

And she was probably like, you were probably the biggest celeb there for her.

Speaker 2

No.

Speaker 2

I don't think so.

Speaker 2

I don't even think it's a celeb.

Speaker 2

Well,

Speaker 0

anyways a little bit.

Speaker 0

They're like, came to the party?

Speaker 0

And you're like, Becca Tobin, you're our I'm sorry.

Speaker 2

She's in jeans.

Speaker 1

I know, but you can make jeans look very elevated.

Speaker 0

You do make jeans look It's not

Speaker 2

like me wearing jeans.

Speaker 2

You always Cocktail look very attire.

Speaker 2

没有。

No.

Speaker 2

That's true.

Speaker 2

How dare I?

Speaker 1

Did you have a boot on?

Speaker 2

I had a pointy toed heel.

Speaker 0

Oh, that's good.

Speaker 2

Or like a yeah.

Speaker 0

At least it wasn't like a Birkenstock.

Speaker 2

No, I would never.

Speaker 2

Okay.

Speaker 2

How I would I'm that's my lesson for not reading the invitation.

Speaker 2

Just one more scan.

Speaker 2

Just one more look over before you leave.

Speaker 2

I scammed.

Speaker 2

I scammed.

Speaker 2

好。

Okay.

Speaker 2

And then my Good Week is really simple.

Speaker 2

This morning, I 07:30 in the morning Ford was sleeping in and I cleaned the out of my refrigerator.

Speaker 2

Oh, that's so nice.

Speaker 2

I found mold.

Speaker 2

Found I there's a little bit of a bottom drawer and it was like fuzzy in the corner, the back corner.

Speaker 2

So anyways, it is so gorgeous.

Speaker 2

I open it a couple times a day now and it is just stunning.

Speaker 2

So I recommend spring cleaning.

Speaker 2

Go clean your fridges.

Speaker 1

Who's

Speaker 0

next?

Speaker 0

Just I went to go open my, like, get a Tupperware out the other day and there was a moth the size of my hand just dead.

Speaker 0

And it looked like it had been petrified wood.

Speaker 0

Like I was like, oh, this moth has been this dead for this long.

Speaker 0

And like, I haven't been in this drawer.

Speaker 0

And you know what?

Speaker 0

I'm sick of being an adult.

Speaker 0

Something is Cleaning.

Speaker 0

Always Anyway.

Speaker 0

Okay.

Speaker 0

Jack, you go.

Speaker 1

Okay.

Speaker 1

So my good week is that obviously if anybody follows me on Instagram, you know that my mom has also been diving into her painting journey alongside me.

Speaker 1

She actually started hers before me.

Speaker 1

She took up a painting class last year and she's kind of inspired me to get back into painting last year.

Speaker 1

So it's just been so fun to do this alongside her.

Speaker 1

But anyways, my Good Week is I made her an Instagram so she can share her own art and I want everybody to go follow her.

Speaker 1

账号叫‘Mae Vanic Art’。

It's Mae Vanic art.

Speaker 1

And because she just like paints the most incredible shit.

Speaker 1

And then she just throws it aside and is like, oh, this is like whatever.

Speaker 1

I'm like, you need to post this.

Speaker 1

You need to share it with the world.

Speaker 1

Your art deserves to be shared with the world and seen by the world.

Speaker 1

And I just want everybody to go give her some props because like

Speaker 0

she's living in like a little witchy artist commune now.

Speaker 2

I know.

Speaker 2

So cute.

Speaker 0

You're my favorite.

Speaker 1

I'm like, what the hell did I do with my time before I started painting again?

Speaker 1

Because like now we just, she just comes over and we like paint together for hours and it's just so cute.

Speaker 1

And it was cute.

Speaker 1

She made, I'm having her paint one thing for me every male club because I'm like, it's a good way to show her art and stuff.

Speaker 1

And she painted the sticker for April's.

Speaker 1

Is it the little boot?

Speaker 1

The little boot.

Speaker 1

It's so good.

Speaker 1

So cute.

Speaker 1

I'm like, I couldn't do this.

Speaker 1

She's so much better at me with like realistic stuff than I am.

Speaker 1

But anyways, I posted about it and I had so many people asking about prints.

Speaker 1

So I'm going to make prints of it to sell

Speaker 2

for her.

Speaker 2

You know, that would be cute in my baby's room.

Speaker 0

I'll send you one.

Speaker 0

Send you one.

Speaker 0

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 0

Can we do a merch shirt of like a Jack like art?

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

It just depends.

Speaker 1

I mean, the printing and stuff.

Speaker 1

That's hard.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

The color.

Speaker 1

The colors.

Speaker 1

Okay.

Speaker 1

My bad week.

Speaker 1

I don't know if it's a bad week or good week, but I have a new doppelganger allegedly.

Speaker 1

Many people messaged me on Instagram saying that they're watching Alex Cooper's show, the Unwell Games, and they're like, I swear that I saw you on it.

Speaker 1

And it's Anna Delvie.

Speaker 1

So you tell me people.

Speaker 2

I'm like looking her up again.

Speaker 2

She does look really good.

Speaker 1

She's definitely got some pretty good work done, which is funny because I feel like old school her looked like old school me a little bit.

Speaker 1

Like we had the same, like very round face.

Speaker 2

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 0

I mean, you're way prettier than Anna.

Speaker 0

She's actually pretty she's pretty right now.

Speaker 0

不错。

Good.

Speaker 2

Like her and Dancing With The Stars banging.

Speaker 2

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 2

She's like

Speaker 0

can see

Speaker 2

if you guys have the same like eyes, like set eye, like the same Beatty eyes.

Speaker 2

不是。

No.

Speaker 2

I was gonna say like wides wider set, but not wide in a creepy way.

Speaker 2

Same hair Like I can if you looked at it like Yeah.

Speaker 0

Okay.

Speaker 0

No, I see it.

Speaker 0

I see it.

Speaker 1

Like fast.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

But maybe.

Speaker 1

But I mean, I was like,

Speaker 0

oh She just looks so grumpy all the time and you don't look grumpy ever.

Speaker 1

So No.

Speaker 1

It's definitely her personality is a little bit different from mine, but I guess thank you.

Speaker 0

Thank you.

Speaker 0

Speaking of eyeballs, I'll go into my Bad Week.

Speaker 0

I am so excited because my parents are here and they're hanging out with me and we're, you know, summer in LA, we're in the backyard and I turned so that's my good week.

Speaker 0

My bad week is I turned to the left and Callie is busy in the yard doing something.

Speaker 0

And I was like, what is what's she getting into over there?

Speaker 0

I walk over.

Speaker 0

Now, as I have said in other episodes, the voles are very busy in my area, which is like a gerbilrat that lives in the hills of California, and it has giant teeth.

Speaker 0

And I look over and Callie is eating the eyeball out of a vole head, just the head.

Speaker 0

The head is And by you can see its backbone is snapped and the backbone is like hanging out.

Speaker 0

Like, you know, when you get a rib eye at the steak place and like there's a bone hanging out, it's like that.

Speaker 0

And I was like, oh my god, Callie, stop eating this.

Speaker 0

So then I have to get the pooper scooper and I scoop the head.

Speaker 0

And what was crazy is that I was like, how the did the vole head get in my yard?

Speaker 0

And we really rip it off the body?

Speaker 0

Well, I was like, did she rip it?

Speaker 0

不是。

No.

Speaker 0

I don't think so.

Speaker 0

Then I'm like, did a coyote come in and eat half and then leave the head?

Speaker 0

No.

Speaker 0

Guess what it was?

Speaker 0

A hawk.

Speaker 0

Did some research.

Speaker 0

Hawks collect the voles and then they have them in their mouth and they're still alive and then they slap their necks.

Speaker 0

Then sometimes the head can fall because they keep the body because that's where the meat is.

Speaker 0

The bullhead isn't that disgusting?

Speaker 1

See, this is where I really don't understand that people let their dogs lick their faces.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 1

It's risky.

Speaker 0

Well, I did.

Speaker 0

I was like, oh, I don't know if you're gonna and now she's licking my face again.

Speaker 0

But it is wild.

Speaker 0

She was eating that and it was bloody.

Speaker 0

It was fresh.

Speaker 0

Eyeball out.

Speaker 2

Diseased.

Speaker 2

For you, Callie.

Speaker 0

She is so crazy.

Speaker 0

Anyway, when we're coming back, these crazy bitches are gonna fix your life.

Speaker 0

Don't you just love a good hair day?

Speaker 0

You show up differently when your hair feels healthy.

Speaker 0

You're more confident, more relaxed.

Speaker 0

Your hair becomes one less thing competing for your attention throughout the day.

Speaker 0

That's why Nutrafol supports hair health from within, working over time to deliver results you can see and feel.

Speaker 0

It is great for postpartum.

Speaker 0

It is amazing for girlies like me who are just perimenopausal and starting to thin.

Speaker 0

Speaker 2

How's your bed doing these days?

Speaker 2

Do your sheets still fit okay?

Speaker 2

Do your pillow still feel supportive?

Speaker 2

Fun fact, most people keep their bedding way longer than they should.

Speaker 2

It slowly wears down and you don't realize how much it's affecting your sleep till you finally replace it.

Speaker 2

Most people think they need a new mattress, but honestly, changing your sheets might just do the trick.

Speaker 1

Now back to the lady gang.

Speaker 0

行。

Okay.

Speaker 0

If you're new to this podcast, which you're not, if you've been listening forever, when we first started the show, we had a segment called Ask the LadyGang, where we really helped people's lives.

Speaker 0

And we had every week people sent in their emails and we answered them.

Speaker 0

And over time, we got rid of this segment because we felt like you should not take our advice.

Speaker 2

That's And an interesting

Speaker 0

you know, we just lost it.

Speaker 0

And then we asked you guys a few weeks ago, like, do you want?

Speaker 0

And so many people said, please bring back, ask the LadyGang.

Speaker 0

So we sent out an email.

Speaker 0

We got a ton of questions, and we're gonna fix some lives today.

Speaker 0

And honestly, I feel ready for this.

Speaker 0

好。

Okay.

Speaker 0

So the first one is anonymous from Northern California.

Speaker 0

She says, I need to know if I'll ever get my friend back once we crossed over to the roommate zone.

Speaker 0

We are great roommates, but I miss a few things that were constant for us when we're just friends.

Speaker 0

Side note, I'm happy living here.

Speaker 0

Just lots of uncertainty of when she's going to ask me

Speaker 1

to leave or move.

Speaker 1

That's so rough.

Speaker 1

I feel like it's so, so risky moving in with a friend because it usually goes south because then you're like, it's almost like dating them.

Speaker 1

Now you're in a relationship.

Speaker 1

You're seeing them in their little quiet moments.

Speaker 1

You're starting to notice little things that they do that bug the shit out of you.

Speaker 1

Like if they leave like the lint in the dryer and then it starts like building resentment and resentment.

Speaker 0

Think you should move out as soon as possible.

Speaker 0

If you want to stay friends.

Speaker 1

There's just with the way that she is writing this too, there's a power dynamic that's going on.

Speaker 1

She's like, I'm wondering when she's going to ask me when I have to leave.

Speaker 1

So the friend obviously has the power.

Speaker 1

Maybe she moved into her apartment or something.

Speaker 1

And now she's just like, she's probably walking on eggshells.

Speaker 1

She's probably not trying to like show her true self to the friend.

Speaker 1

And that's just hard.

Speaker 1

You don't want to be in a power dynamic with a friend.

Speaker 1

Like you should be equal with your friends.

Speaker 2

Well, I would also just have a very open conversation.

Speaker 2

Just really communicate that you have anxiety about her deciding she doesn't want you there anymore and just have like a really honest conversation.

Speaker 2

I also think it's a good thing to say, Hey, we're adults.

Speaker 2

We don't have to have passive aggressive things between each other.

Speaker 2

If there's something I'm doing that you would like for me to change or adjust or fix, like if it's something that I am, that's easy for me to do, I wanna do it because I want us to have like a really comfortable living space.

Speaker 2

Open conversation is just the only answer here or or Jack move out.

Speaker 2

But I think open conversations probably better.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

It's definitely communication so hard though, especially if they haven't had

Speaker 2

没错。

it.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 0

I mean, I lost one of my best friends after we were roommates.

Speaker 0

Really?

Speaker 1

See, I've lived with a bunch of my friends before and it's always been fine.

Speaker 0

Yeah.

Speaker 0

It can be hard.

Speaker 0

Okay, Madison from Nashville.

Speaker 0

My boyfriend and I have been, this is crazy.

Speaker 0

My boyfriend and I have been together for three years and he still hasn't introduced me to his family.

Speaker 0

Every time I bring it up, he says soon and changes the subject.

Speaker 0

My friends think I should give an ultimatum, but that feels so scary and also kind of embarrassing that I even have to ask, is this a red flag?

Speaker 0

Am I being impatient?

Speaker 0

I genuinely cannot tell if I'm the problem.

Speaker 0

I mean,

Speaker 1

you're definitely not the problem.

Speaker 1

That is a huge massive red flag.

Speaker 1

I wonder if he has another girlfriend.

Speaker 1

Or if he's

Speaker 2

just somebody that's like doesn't want to commit that hard, you know.

Speaker 2

And he thinks that if he does introduce her, it means it's sending the wrong message.

Speaker 2

If they've

Speaker 1

been dating three years.

Speaker 2

In the same city?

Speaker 2

Does his family live in the same city as him?

Speaker 2

Wait, does his family live in the same city as you and you've been together three years and you've yet to meet his family, pop smoke and get the fuck out.

Speaker 2

That's weird.

Speaker 1

I also think it's not red flag, but like an interesting point that he changes the subject.

Speaker 1

I mean, he might have a bad relationship with his family.

Speaker 1

We need more context to the story.

Speaker 1

If he has a bad relationship and he just doesn't want to like,

Speaker 2

what I

Speaker 1

would say.

Speaker 1

That's one thing.

Speaker 1

But like, if she doesn't seem to know why that it doesn't seem like it's a bad relationship more so he's just avoiding it to avoid it for, I don't know, maybe a different reason.

Speaker 0

But also what if he's like a grifter and I always go to the worst place, but like, mean, men

Speaker 1

are usually the worst place.

Speaker 0

Yes.

Speaker 0

What if you recreated your life and you're like, you know, he's got his life together and everything and his family is like junk.

Speaker 0

You know what I mean?

Speaker 0

And he doesn't want to show that to her.

Speaker 0

Like my hope is that that's what it is rather than he doesn't want to commit.

Speaker 0

But either way, it's a major major red flag because you're not at the same place.

Speaker 0

If you are like thinking next step is engagement party and you haven't met the family at any of the Christmases or Halloween parties or family events like you're.

Speaker 1

Well, and I think it's just like a communication thing.

Speaker 1

Like you need to ask why you don't need to just be like, oh, he's changing the subject.

Speaker 1

It's like you need to dive into what is the reason why.

Speaker 1

Cause there are some acceptable answers and then there are some that aren't.

Speaker 0

And we know from having the sex expert on that you should come and then ask them.

Speaker 0

Come, get them relaxed, get them in a good place and then ask them.

Speaker 0

That's what she said on the podcast.

Speaker 0

She said, you they want to feel closeness.

Speaker 0

So he wants to connect with you.

Speaker 0

He's going to you're going to sleep with him and then, well, hopefully you're sleeping together after three years.

Speaker 1

I just like can't imagine doing that.

Speaker 1

Like, that's the time when you bring up a hard conversation.

Speaker 1

I just can't imagine doing that myself.

Speaker 2

Well, I can't either because within like twenty seconds, I'm

Speaker 0

We're in the shower, honey.

Speaker 0

We're already at the we're at Trader Joe's three minutes I'm like, okay,

Speaker 2

got it.

Speaker 2

Maybe he's embarrassed about his family.

Speaker 2

Like, maybe.

Speaker 1

That's what

Speaker 2

I'm saying.

Speaker 1

She just needs to know.

Speaker 2

She just needs to ask and just say.

Speaker 1

But then it's like, this is I think about the same thing for both of these questions.

Speaker 1

Like the timing.

Speaker 1

It's like sometimes it's too far gone.

Speaker 1

Like sometimes it's been so much time and now it's like past the awkward stage of you've been bringing it up that it's like now it's like it feels almost untouchable conversation.

Speaker 0

Okay.

Speaker 0

Dani, longtime listener.

Speaker 0

She said a longtime listener and lurker from Phoenix.

Speaker 0

I got a promotion at work, which is amazing, but now I'm managing two of my closest work friends and it is so awkward.

Speaker 0

One of them already made a comment at happy hour about how I've changed.

Speaker 0

I haven't changed.

Speaker 0

I just actually have to do my job now.

Speaker 0

I don't wanna lose the friendship, but I also worked really hard for this.

Speaker 0

How do I not become the villain in this story?

Speaker 1

Ugh.

Speaker 2

Well, to me it seems like if you really haven't changed and you're just being professional, it seems like maybe your friends are jealous.

Speaker 1

Of course

Speaker 2

they're jealous.

Speaker 2

Oh your promotion and they're jealous of, and so I don't think those are even people you need as friends.

Speaker 2

If they're not going to support you.

Speaker 2

I mean, listen, a little jealousy is normal, but if they're gonna be dicks about it, like grow up.

Speaker 2

Just say what you feel.

Speaker 2

You're, you know, it's a hard dynamic to change, but it's not something that you can't get over as long as they are reasonable and just say, sorry, it's just weird, this new dynamic and, know, I'll be more supportive of what you're doing.

Speaker 2

Or you could say to them like, just, I'm feeling, you said this comment, I'm feeling weird.

Speaker 2

I'm trying to do my best to not make this strange or weird or be bossy or whatever.

Speaker 2

But if there's something I'm doing, tell me.

Speaker 2

Otherwise, I just really want to feel a little bit more supported.

Speaker 2

Like, didn't give myself this promotion.

Speaker 1

I mean, she should ask it.

Speaker 1

She should be direct to be like, tell me why I've changed.

Speaker 1

Give me an example.

Speaker 1

That's a good idea.

Speaker 1

Than just being I mean, again, it's the same thing with living with a friend, working underneath working with friends where there's a power dynamic again is very hard.

Speaker 1

Like, it's hard that you're now the boss of somebody and you can like, tell them what to do when you should be equals as friends.

Speaker 1

But I think it's just being direct and be like, give me an example.

Speaker 1

And if the example is just like, I'm doing my job, then

Speaker 0

that's And then I think you could also say to them, Hey, this is like super awkward for me because like, I need to get shit done, but I also don't want to make you feel like I'm stepping over you.

Speaker 0

What's the best way?

Speaker 0

Like, do you, and that's something that's worked even with LadyGang.

Speaker 0

Like when I smash you guys over, I'm like, hey, what's Jack?

Speaker 0

What's the best way to send you a to do list?

Speaker 0

Like, how do you prefer for me to follow-up and be annoying and be like bossing you around?

Speaker 0

And you're like, I prefer a text.

Speaker 0

Great.

Speaker 0

Well, I'm not gonna send you a million emails.

Speaker 0

I'm just gonna send and, you know, like, I think that maybe making that clear and then and then they'll know that they and they also need to not be doing the little side digs at you.

Speaker 0

Go yourself.

Speaker 0

You know?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

I hate that.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

Do I bring it up?

Speaker 0

Do I just unmatch and protect my heart?

Speaker 0

I'm already attached and this is embarrassing to Mitt.

Speaker 1

As somebody who has done this so many times in my past, it is so bad.

Speaker 1

Like I matched with so many guys on Tinder and we would be texting for weeks.

Speaker 1

I'd be like thinking about how we'd look like at our wedding.

Speaker 1

Like the vibes are always so good.

Speaker 1

You have so much good banter, but it's like, you don't know this person at all.

Speaker 1

And a lot of times, if it's just through text, that doesn't translate when you're in front of somebody in real life.

Speaker 1

And then you have this idea in your head of what they should be.

Speaker 1

And it always even either falls short.

Speaker 1

Or if you're like me and you already start planning your future with them, you get so disappointed.

Speaker 1

If like, it's like, you're almost like love bombing yourself in the sense.

Speaker 1

And then if it's not like, if he doesn't ask you to be his girlfriend on the first date, you expected, then it's always a disappointment.

Speaker 1

So like, if I had any advice of anybody on dating apps, it's meet up as soon as possible.

Speaker 1

If you think that there is a vibe, meet up as soon as possible and cut it off as soon as you're not feeling it.

Speaker 1

Because I wasted so much time thinking I was in love with duds.

Speaker 1

So duds.

Speaker 1

So many duds.

Speaker 0

Should definitely be using the word duds more.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

It's a dud.

Speaker 1

I guess my advice to her is just dud.

Speaker 1

Jack's a dud.

Speaker 0

When Jack tries to talk and Kelty can't talk.

Speaker 0

Dud.

Speaker 1

So my advice to her is just tell them to shit or get off the pot and go meet up and see if you're vibing in person.

Speaker 1

But then don't bring all these preconceived feelings with you to that date, like have zero expectations and then kind of go from there.

Speaker 1

But that's hard because I have been in those situations.

Speaker 0

It's just weird because we're so used to these like parasocial relationships now.

Speaker 0

I know my brother has been dating and he was talking to someone for like a really long time.

Speaker 0

And then all of a sudden she was just gone.

Speaker 0

And you're just like, were you real?

Speaker 0

This is so fucked up.

Speaker 0

Like, I agree.

Speaker 0

Like online?

Speaker 0

Yeah.

Speaker 1

They never

Speaker 0

met They never met up, but like they were talking all the time and I was like, these are perfect.

Speaker 0

And I don't know.

Speaker 0

We get away with like doing these pretend versions of ourselves online that like, you know, yeah, I agree.

Speaker 0

Okay.

Speaker 0

This is really fucked up.

Speaker 0

Courtney said, I'm from a small town in Ohio where everyone knows everyone's business.

Speaker 0

My and my best friend have become closer than my mom and I are.

Speaker 0

Honestly, it hurts.

Speaker 0

They text each other, they make plans.

Speaker 0

And during a crisis last week, my friend called my mom instead of me.

Speaker 0

I know I should be grateful that they love each other, but instead I feel weirdly replaced or totally crazy.

Speaker 0

I'm going to tell you something.

Speaker 0

This happened to me and I was pissed.

Speaker 0

No.

Speaker 0

Yeah.

Speaker 0

Sheila.

Speaker 0

Sheila.

Speaker 0

I yelled at her.

Speaker 0

Had a big fight with my mom a couple months about this.

Speaker 0

Not a fight.

Speaker 0

I just had to yell at her.

Speaker 0

So a few months ago, right after Lady World actually.

Speaker 0

So everyone knows that when I brought, I brought my family, whole family to Lady World and I brought my brother to Lady World and he's not a big traveler.

Speaker 0

And he, when he got home from the stress, I guess from the stress of traveling and being out of the country, he ended up getting Bell's palsy.

Speaker 0

And my family did not tell me about it because I was, it

Speaker 1

was

Speaker 0

a bad time for me and they knew I was stressed and e news had just been canceled.

Speaker 0

They're like, don't want to add more to your plate.

Speaker 0

And so they didn't tell me, but my friend Emily had had Bell's palsy.

Speaker 0

So my mom was waiting to take my brother to the ER for all these days, which I would have like flipped out if I had known that they had waited three days because if you don't get like the stuff within forty eight hours, you fuck up your face forever.

Speaker 0

But she had texted my friend Emily to be like, Matt has Bell's palsy.

Speaker 0

What do we do?

Speaker 0

Go, go, go.

Speaker 0

Emily thought that I had already known.

Speaker 0

And my mom was like, oh, I didn't want to bother you.

Speaker 0

And I knew Emily was like an expert and person to go to.

Speaker 0

And I, when Emily was like, oh, I talked to your mom about Matt's Bell's palsy.

Speaker 0

I was like, I'm sorry, what?

Speaker 0

Like, I was so mad.

Speaker 0

And when I yelled, didn't yell, but when I had a hard conversation with my mom about it, she was like, I just, were busy and I didn't wanna bother you.

Speaker 0

And this is something.

Speaker 0

And like, I mean, I talk about this a lot, but like I trained my family to not bother me in my twenties because I was so busy living my big life that I was like, don't bother me with your up life.

Speaker 0

And now in my thirties, forties, I've become a better human where I'm like, please bother me.

Speaker 0

And I almost had to like retrain them.

Speaker 0

And I, I said to Emily, I said, thank you for telling me.

Speaker 0

And then I went to my mom and I was, so this is my advice.

Speaker 0

Go to your mom and be like, I love your mom and your friend and be like, I love that you guys are close.

Speaker 0

We're like a Leo trio.

Speaker 0

This is amazing.

Speaker 0

But you have to keep me in the loop.

Speaker 0

Like, especially during a crisis, like it hurts my feelings that I wasn't the first call.

Speaker 0

And I'm always here for you.

Speaker 0

And no matter how busy, like blame it on yourself a little, no matter how busy you think I am, no matter how flighty or how long it takes me to return, just like send the 911 emoji and like call me and I want I want to be your first person.

Speaker 0

I'm glad you're so close with your my mom and she is amazing.

Speaker 0

But you know.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Keep it in a group chat or something.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 2

So weird.

Speaker 2

That's rough.

Speaker 1

I mean, there's no way that you can't That doesn't hurt your feelings if you're the daughter.

Speaker 2

当然。

Sure.

Speaker 2

That's that's yeah.

Speaker 0

There's nothing worse than being like out of the loop in friendship and like the all of these questions.

Speaker 0

It's the same thing is like, I'm not in control.

Speaker 0

I'm out of the loop.

Speaker 0

Like, yeah.

Speaker 0

And the answer is always gonna be being direct.

Speaker 0

And the hardest thing is always gonna be being direct.

Speaker 0

It's so uncomfortable to have direct conversations with people.

Speaker 0

And because of all the social media we have and the passive aggressiveness and the emails and the text messages and the emojis, like what does that emoji mean?

Speaker 0

We've gotten so good at never just getting to the point, picking up the phone or seeing them in person and just being like, Hey, this is my boundary.

Speaker 0

This is what I need from you.

Speaker 0

I love you.

Speaker 0

This is coming from a place of love.

Speaker 0

This hurts me.

Speaker 0

How do you want to be spoken to?

Speaker 0

Like, we just have to teach each other.

Speaker 0

God, it's like- it's hard.

Speaker 0

And it's also, go around fix, sorry, my last rant.

Speaker 0

We go around fixing people who refuse to go to therapy.

Speaker 0

In my opinion, that's true.

Speaker 0

Like we have to go, I have to double up in therapy because not only am I working on my own shit, I'm planning conversations that I need to have with people that are up my life because they won't go to therapy.

Speaker 0

Like I have to fix me and then I have to fix their shit and teach them how to therapies themselves.

Speaker 0

Not it's all on me.

Speaker 0

You're welcome, everyone.

Speaker 0

Anyway, if you thought that our advice was good, write more.

Speaker 0

And I think we did good, guys.

Speaker 0

We're back.

Speaker 2

We're back baby.

Speaker 2

We're giving much more mature advice these days than we need to.

Speaker 1

I know.

Speaker 1

Remember our old advice was

Speaker 0

We should like, burn it down.

Speaker 0

We're like,

Speaker 1

get drunk

Speaker 2

and him.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Fish him.

Speaker 0

Okay.

Speaker 0

We'll be more shady next time.

Speaker 0

Anyway, we love you, and we will See you next Tuesday.
