Podcast one presents the lady gang, the Hollywood girl posse with lady gang quickie.
Here's Kelty Knight, Becca Tobin,
and Jack Vanick.
Let's make this quick.
你好。
Hello.
你好。
Hello.
你好。
Hello.
Welcome to Lady Gang Quickie.
I'm Becca here with Jack and Kelsey, and we are doing a little something special with you in conjunction with our sponsor, Natural Cycles.
We have brought on a few lady gangers to torture today.
Kelsey,
Kelsey, what are we doing?
好的。
Okay.
So today is the pregnancy episode and we thought, why would we have like an expert come on and talk about what it feels like to be pregnant when we literally have a wealth of everyone in the lady gang was so horny, and now everyone is pregnant.
And so we invited three of our lady gang members, Tori, Heather, and Caitlin to come on the podcast and discuss the nastiness, the rumors that no.
Just kidding.
The the truth about pregnancy and sort of how they're feeling, what they need, what they wish they knew.
And I just wanna say before we introduce the girls officially, when we put out the prompt to say, hey, Lady Gang, are you pregnant?
Like, write this email if you wanna come on the podcast.
I was like, oh, that's where you guys have been.
You're all pregnant right now.
Literally, we need to have a joint baby shower for the Lady Gang members.
There was probably 40 to 50 people that emailed in the first day and I couldn't get to all of you.
Like I literally sorry that Tori, Heather, and Caitlin are the k types.
They were first and I literally just went in the order on which people responded to the email.
So like if you're on your phone and you emailed first, you're in.
And I just wanna say thanks to everyone who emailed like we could do a 100 of these.
好的。
Okay.
So first up, we're going to meet Tori.
Tori looks like she's maybe at work right now or in her home office.
Tori, who are you?
Where are you from?
How old are you?
How long have you been listening to Lady Gang?
And how pregnant are you?
好的。
Okay.
I'll try and remember all of that.
My name's Tori.
I live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
33 years old.
I am fourteen weeks pregnant today, so I have made it out of the first trimester.
You wouldn't believe it, by the way I feel.
And I've been listening to Lady Gang as long as I can remember.
We love it.
Is this your first pregnancy?
是的。
It is.
Congrats.
Oh, first baby.
好的。
Okay.
Heather, same questions.
好的。
Alright.
My name is Heather.
I live in Canada.
Oh, where?
At that.
哦。
Oh.
I'm kind of near Ottawa, like a very small town.
I'm at a car dealership right now buying a minivan because I'm about to have too many kids for my SUV, which is, like, so fitting.
So this is not my office.
Best.
And I this is I I'm 36.
This is my fifth pregnancy.
是的。
Yeah.
I have two kids.
I've had two miscarriages and I am pregnant with twins right now, which is just bananas.
Oh my gosh.
Oh my god.
You are gonna
This is the chaos that is my life.
But your hair looks so good.
I did it for you, especially.
Thank you
so much.
And so that you should notice.
Mhmm.
好的。
Okay.
Caitlin, same questions.
好的。
Okay.
So my name is Caitlin.
I live in the Washington DC Metro Area.
So in and around.
I'm 33.
This is my first pregnancy and I am about eighteen and a half weeks long.
So I'm like in the beginning of the second trimester.
So finally starting to come back to the land of the living, I guess.
Oh my god.
好的。
Okay.
Well, girls jump in.
Becca, you oh, I'll open the floor to you.
First question.
好的。
Okay.
What do you wish you knew before getting pregnant?
And we can Heather, who's done this more than once, for that first pregnancy of yours, what was your the thing you wish you had known going into it?
I think, like, for me, it's like everything is a sign of pregnancy.
So I don't know if you guys find this, but, like, any ailment you have, if you Google it, that is a sign.
Like, it's because you're pregnant.
So I was, like, having hives the other day and was like, why do I have hives and my vagina feels like it's gonna fall out?
And it was like, those two things combined are because you're pregnant and you might need medical attention, but it might also be totally normal.
It's like anything anything is fair game.
好的。
Okay.
That's not helpful.
Mm-mm.
不对。
No.
Okay.
Tori, what about you?
I think that I thought I was gonna have more time to tell people than I did, but work guessed it because I was so sick that I couldn't hide it anymore.
So it was one of those things, my boss came around the corner in this office, found me on the floor, laying underneath the desk because I was like, I can't keep food down, I can't keep my head up and I can't leave.
And then I think I was like six weeks at that point.
And I was like, surprise everybody, I'm pregnant.
So didn't know it This was gonna be that
is why I feel like there should be a maternity leave during a first trimester.
I know that that would require you telling people that you're pregnant early, but I really do think that it is the biggest load of bullshit that women have to walk around for, like, twelve plus weeks, sometimes more.
And my sister was barfing into the trash can under her desk three times a day and being a lawyer.
I'm like, there has to be a solution here.
We we sent people up in space to sing.
Allegedly.
No.
It's so true.
So when did you Tori, when did you know you were pregnant?
And when did you know when did you start getting so sick?
I knew well, I knew exactly when I got pregnant.
It was one of those I was actually using Natural Cycles.
So, you know, sponsored.
But as soon as I knew, I started getting sick, and then it was, okay, I'm gonna tell my husband, and then, my gosh, I have to cancel all of these plans.
I guess I have to tell these close friends.
And then now I'm passing out at work.
And the funny thing about work was we have a sushi place across the street.
And so my boss goes, I was like seven weeks, I guess six weeks at this point.
He goes, you wanna go get sushi?
And I said, I just panicked.
I was like, I don't think I can eat sushi right now.
I'm not sure that's in my, like, palate.
And he was like, are you pregnant?
And it just, that's kinda how I feel.
哦
Oh
my god.
好的。
Okay.
Caitlin, what do you wish you knew before you jumped into the pregnancy?
是的。
Yeah.
So physically, I guess I always thought morning sickness meant you actually, like, threw up and got sick, but it's actually so much worse because I literally just felt sick all the time, and it just didn't go away.
Like, it's not like when you're hungover and, like, you throw up and you're like, oh, okay.
It's so much better now.
No.
It just, like, lasts the whole day.
Well, not and not always the whole day, but, like, it was just, like, nausea.
It wasn't necessarily, like, actually getting sick.
I I think it's probably better I didn't know that going into it because I it was better I just didn't know.
But I think mentally, like, I what I didn't realize is, like, you just never feel old enough to, like, be pregnant and have a kid.
I'm like, I'm 33, and I feel like I'm a teen mom.
I'm like, so I'm just gonna go to the hospital.
I'm gonna have a baby, and they're gonna, like, let me take it home.
Like, to drive a car, you have to get driver's license.
To, like, do a job, you have to get training, but you just show it to hospital, and they're like, okay.
You can take your baby home.
Like, that's crazy to me.
So I don't know.
It's like mentally, I still don't feel like I'm old enough to that I'm gonna gonna be like someone's mom, but I know that it's happening.
So I think that was just something I didn't realize I would feel until I was, like, actually pregnant.
Well, I'm gonna be 39 in one month and I still feel that way.
I'm like, am far too young to be getting pregnant and having a kid.
But then I thought maybe it would change like when you're actually pregnant, you're like, we're doing this.
So I don't know how I feel about the fact that you still feel that way while you're pregnant.
It's not for me.
Maybe for some people but
not I for think I'll feel the same.
Till Ford was two years old I feel like around two.
Now I walk around with him and I'm I'm sure I obviously am his mother maybe because I'm so haggard and tired already but for the first two years of his life I remember being out at like parks and things and being like I wonder if people think I'm the nanny or like the babysitter.
Or the sister.
I'm the rich aunt.
Just so young.
Like, just can't believe
this is this is like, how did I have a baby already?
我 barely
I barely
got my period.
不。
No.
Wait, Heather,
did you know you were having twins or this was did you do like IVF after the miscarriages?
Or how was your you had the two babies first and then two miscarriages or what was your calendar?
And sorry.
I'm really sorry about your losses.
Gone like thank you.
I've gone so I have a six year old and a four year old.
So I went like baby miscarriage, baby miscarriage, babies.
No IVF.
No twins in the family.
My first two pregnancies were fairly easy, and this one has been awful, and I was have been feeling awful since the beginning.
So I had a hunch, and then you do blood work, and they test for your hCG levels, and my levels were, like, off the charts.
So then I was like, okay.
I feel like something's up here.
So when I went to the first ultrasound, I I was, like, preparing for bad news again or something.
And almost immediately, the ultrasound tech was like, there's two.
You're having twins.
Oh, are they identical?
是的。
Yeah.
They're identical twin girls, and I have two boys.
So it's kinda fun.
Oh, that's so exciting.
对。
Yeah.
等等。
Wait.
That's cute, though.
Does it freak you out knowing like, here's the thing, you're going into twins knowing how hard it was to have one baby.
Does it freak you out or are you like, oh no, this is like, I'm I'm ready for this because you've been through it before.
I think it's better.
Like, I prefer to like, I'm happy I know what to expect with motherhood.
I feel like if twins were your first, like, that's gotta be extra terrifying.
I also just, thrive in chaos.
So, like, I feel like I was meant for this, unfortunately, and and I'll enjoy the chaos of it.
Never thought I'd have four kids, but here we are and we're definitely gonna end at four.
So it'll be exciting.
What would you, Heather, tell Tori and Caitlin and all those other Lady Gang Prager women about the birth and then like the first few weeks?
Like what do you wish you had known or what wish you had bought?
Like is there like a hot Heather tip that you can be like, sure you get a night nurse or make sure you get this specific thing because after your body's wrecked, you're gonna want this diaper.
Like what is the thing?
是的。
Yeah.
I think so I had two c sections because both my kids were breech, so I had to.
And I was so adamantly against a c section.
Like, it did I didn't even consider what we would do if I had a c section because like I wasn't gonna do that.
So and I had a friend give birth last week who, like, said, I had this whole perfectly planned birth plan, like, the music and, like, I'm not doing this and I'm not doing this.
And she's like, it just goes out the window once you're in the moment.
So I think, like, remaining flexible and, like, giving yourself so much grace.
I think a lot of us put pressure on ourselves to, like, breastfeed and, like, do everything ourselves.
And it's it's mostly just, like, pressure on ourselves, and it's very easy for me to say this.
And I'm sure this time around, I'm gonna do the same thing and put all this pressure on myself, but just, like, throw away the playbook.
Do what you gotta do to survive.
It it's a season.
It's gonna end, and then you're gonna have a toddler and have, like, a whole new set of challenges.
It never ends.

I'm talking friends, neighbors, classmates, somebody who knew what was happening before the rest of the world did.
It's emotional.

Jack, what do you wanna ask as a maybe having a baby to be?
Well, the question, I mean, this is not the most like poignant question, but it was what I was thinking about just as we're all talking, but like, what is the weirdest thing that your body is have done that like you didn't read about in or hear about on TikTok or like, I know, like, there's fluids and weird movements of bones and all that kind of stuff.
Like, what's one thing that you're like, oh, what the hell is even going on?
是的。
Yeah.
Caitlin, let's start with you.
There's, like, so many weird things that just, like, happen to your body.
So I guess I'll talk this, like, sounds scary just to preface it, but, like, it all ends up okay.
But I was at work a few months ago, and so I I did IVF.
And so I was at work, and then all of a sudden, felt, like, fluid.
And I went to the bathroom.
Was, like, bleeding a lot.
And immediately, I was like, oh my god.
This is the worst case scenario.
Like, should I go to the ER?
And, like, I reached out to my clinic, and they're like, oh, well, if it's not, like, you know, soaking a pad, then, like, you should be okay.
Well, you can come in tomorrow, but, like, don't try not to worry about it.
And I was like, well, that's crazy.
Like, how are you not gonna tell me to come in?
Like, I immediately thought it was the worst, but it turns out it was subchorionic hematoma which is like super normal and like very common and it happens especially in IVF pregnancies it's super super common and I didn't know that because just like the way it implants and everything.
But I but again, I think it's probably better I didn't know because, like, I would have been anticipating it, but, like, I went and, like, everything was fine with the baby.
They're like, yeah.
You just have a subchorionic hematoma.
It will heal itself.
And it did.
So, like, I think it's important to know that, like, you always see it in, like, pop culture and be like, oh my god.
I'm having a miscarriage, which sometimes it you know, that is the case, but at least in my specific scenario, it wasn't necessarily that.
So I think it's important to know that, like, just try not to panic when, like, weird things like that happen to your body because it may not necessarily be the worst thing.
It may be something that's super common that you have no idea is actually a thing.
So Wow.
等等。
Wait.
I love that, actually.
That's great advice.
是的。
Yeah.
It was it was scary, but it was, like, I'm almost glad I went through it because I was like, okay.
My worst case scenario mine was not right in Yeah.
That scenario.
对。
Yeah.
Oh, that's so true.
Tori, what about you?
What is the weirdness?
Mine's little I feel like I shouldn't go after that because Caitlin, that was, like, actually helpful.
我的是
Mine was
I Welcome
to the Lady Gangers.
Someone has to be the Kelty.
不必
Doesn't have
to be helpful.
是的。
Yeah.
So Kelty, this would happen to you, but I go to this girl's house.
It's a work meeting.
I work in policy, so everything's very buttoned up.
This was a little bit less buttoned up.
And so I was like, okay, I'll just kind of wear sweatpants and a t shirt or whatever.
And so all of a sudden I got really nauseous.

This was my witching hour, 06:30.

to the bathroom and I was like, I'll just be a minute.
I'm throwing up.
And as you do.
And I peed myself and it like on the floor.
So I'm like over the toilet with like crouched down.
There's now pee on me and on the floor, and I'm going, Oh my God, I have to walk out there and ask for a Clorox wipe or something, because both of these things just happened to me.
So I think I expected that to happen third trimester when things had a lot more pressure.
是的。
Yeah.
And I didn't expect it to happen, especially at, like, someone's house.
I was like, look at me leaving the the house on my own, and I peed on
等等。
my Wait.
Were your pants were not down so you, like, peed your pants?
对。
Yes.
She's scared.
She's shaking us.
But I was staying the night, so I had had leggings to put on.
But I was like, I just was not super comfortable, but she had Clorox wipes under her little thing.
So I just like wiped it, and I was like, maybe I should take these with me Everywhere.
Oh my God.
That is wild.
Truly wild.
这真的
It's truly
wild everywhere.
Have your partners been, if you have them, during this process?
Let's start with Heather.
Just to add to my chaos, my husband's in the military and he is on a six month deployment.
My God.
Heather.
I swear I just like I plan chaos.
I literally was like,
why is your husband not getting the minivan?
Why are you getting the minivan?
Send your man.
所以
So
天哪
Oh my
god.
Actually, I the like Hold the phone for a second, Heather.

How were you how how were you the first reply to this email when you have twins and two children.
Jack has no children and she was the I last reply to the
think I have a bit of Kelsey in me.
I feel like frantic energy, you know, just doing things haphazard.
是的。
Yeah.
So he the week before he left, we found out we were having twins.
So he was there until like ten or eleven weeks pregnant, which was good because like that was like real rough, like puking all the time.
And then he left like, December.
He's home right now for two weeks because they get a two week break.
So he's actually out there with the kids, like, talking with the finance manager, and I'm dropping him off at the airport in an hour to go back to his deployment.
And then he comes home a week before my scheduled c session.
Oh my god.
He's been great from afar.
He's been great the past two weeks, but it's been a lot of solo parenting.
是的。
Yeah.
哇。
Wow.
That's crazy though.
I'm proud of you.
Not not in this country.
是的。
Yeah.
Far, far away.
Oh my god.
Oh my gosh.
Chaos.
Tori, do you have a baby daddy?
I do have a baby daddy.
He's the most attractive man I've ever met.
是的。
Yeah.
I'll maybe I'll send you a picture, Kelsey.
But he has been
awesome.
He he told me
the only thing I have to do is grow it, her, I'm sorry, grow her, and find the daycare.
He's like doing all of the consumer report stuff.
He bought a three d printer, and so instead of having to buy like outlet covers and like little tiny hangers for clothes and stuff.
He's just like, oh, we need that.
I'll just three d print it.
Oh And my
it's been awesome.
是的。
Yeah.
哇。
Wow.
好的。
Okay.
Resourceful.
Damn.
Can he come to my house?
I need some hangers.
Caitlin, do you have a baby daddy in the picture?
我有。
I do.
It's my husband.
So he's great.
You know, this is obviously like our first pregnancy together.
So we're both just kind of figuring things out.
But I think the best part about him besides, like I mean, obviously, he's 10 out 10 because, like, I married him and, like, I wouldn't have married anyone that's, like, not a 10 out of 10.
But he's, like, just a really steady person.
Like, it's been especially hard to, like, regulate my emotions when there's just so like, I'm hormonal, and, like, I'm naturally just a worrier and someone who's has anxiety.
But he's always able to, like, just look at things objectively and be like, okay.
This is I know that you're worried right now and you're scared, but I've done this research.
I think it's okay, but we'll like, everything will be fine.
And that's what I really need because that's I mean, again, it's just so hard to regulate your emotions when you're already just all over the place.
So he's supportive in, like, every way, but I think that is pretty much the most important for me because that keeps my stress and anxiety level where it needs to be.
Ugh.
What a guy.
This is so special.
Just wanna say thank you guys to coming on the trio, the other lady, the pregnant lady gang.
And I wanna have Becca and Jack just say something too, but I I just wanted to say like, you know, as a childless wonder, my cold dead heart right now is very warm
for all of you.
And I just think, like, I'm thinking about the other 50 girls that we couldn't have on and them listening to this and then all everyone else in the Lady Gang listening and like how cool it is that, like we don't know each other but we know each other.
You know what I mean?
And how cool it is like that we're all connecting through this thing, through womanhood and you know, like the fact that Tori was like, oh my your story's not good and mine, I peed my like the fact that Tori is like, I'm in a buttoned up job and she's like, just come on a huge podcast to let everyone know she peed her pants is like, that's what the lady is Yeah.
Talking I'm really, really proud.
Becca Jack, do you guys wanna just wrap and say anything?
是的。
Yeah.
I'll just say that I have I've never given birth.
I've been the cheerleader at many births.
But what I have picked up from those experiences, I mean, Heather, this is old hat for you, so just ignore me.
But I think the thing that I've noticed is that more women need to remember that they're the ones in charge and they're the bosses in that room.
And, you know, it comes down to as simple as I was having a conversation with some girlfriends of mine about post birth, you know, some of them had C section, some of them, you know, had a vaginal birth.
Both are pretty traumatic on the body.
And they said they remember beings very out of it.
And then this woman comes in and like whips their nipple out and like shoves it in a baby's mouth.
And it's like in that moment, she said, she was like, I didn't use my voice to be like, please don't come at me and please don't touch my nipple.
I'm actually not planning on doing this.
But you just sort of, because they have so much confidence and they've obviously been at all these births, they've never been at your birth and they've never cared for your baby.
And so bringing in like really bossy energy and feeling really empowered to do that, I think is the best advice I can give.
And obviously I've never done it, but I think, yeah, I just like feeling that empowered energy going into it.
You gotta back at your birth.
I was just gonna say, I mean, said it before that I still feel like I'm gonna have a teen pregnancy at almost 40 years old.
And I actually don't have a lot of friends around me that have had kids.
I'm sort of I have two, but they live far away.
So I'm gonna kind of be the first, which is so bizarre.
So it is so nice talking to you guys.
Because it makes me feel like a little less scared to go into something that so many women have done.
But like, having these conversations is just like very comforting to me.
So thank you guys so much for being here.
Also, if you're curious about any kind of like schedule, sleep training, everybody does it their own way, but I did Moms On Call and it saved my life.
So there's a book, there's an app, there's the whole Nine Yards.
To me that was the thing that was easiest for me to follow and I had a baby that did end up sleeping through the night, not to brag, but I do think that it had a lot to do with that book in particular.
I don't know why but that's the advice I have to give.
好的。
Alright.
We love you guys.
Good luck.
We're sending you a good baby juju that you hopefully you stop throwing up soon and Heather, I hope you get that nice minivan, girl.
You better go get that minivan.
Kiss that cutie husband of yours.
Please send us pictures of the baby bellies when you get them or you feel good about it and keep us posted.
