12345.

Speaker 0

我可不是在单纯数数。

I'm not just counting.

Speaker 0

不是的。

No.

Speaker 0

我其实是在做麦克风测试。

I'm I'm actually doing a mic check.

Speaker 0

就是对着麦克风说话,看看录音音量是不是正常。

That's that's where you speak into the microphone in order to check that the level is being recorded correctly.

Speaker 0

我觉得音量录得挺好的,那我就继续了。

And I think that the level is being recorded correctly, so I'm gonna continue.

Speaker 0

我对这个效果挺满意的。

I'm quite happy with that.

Speaker 0

我不明白,为啥测试麦克风音量的时候,大家都要数数呢?

I don't know why when we check the level of a microphone, why we count.

Speaker 0

一、一、一、二、一、二。

One one one two one two.

Speaker 0

我们检查麦克风音量的时候,为啥非得数数呢?

Why do why do we count in order to check a microphone level?

Speaker 0

我想大概是因为,检查麦克风的时候,咱们根本不用动脑子,对吧?

I suppose it's because when we're when we're checking a microphone, we just, you know, we don't have to use our imagination, do we?

Speaker 0

为啥非得说点有含义的话?光说‘一、二’不就够了吗?

Why do why should we sort of say anything more meaningful than just one two?

Speaker 0

你去音乐现场就能听到,音响调试的时候。

You hear it at music concerts, you know, when the the the the sound is being checked.

Speaker 0

总有人站在麦克风前,一遍遍念‘一二一二一一二二二’。

There's always someone standing at the microphone going, 11212111222.

Speaker 0

他们从来都念不到三。

They never manage to get to three.

Speaker 0

就卡在‘一’和‘二’上,再也不往下了。

They just stay on one and two.

Speaker 0

112221212,测试一下。

112221212 checking.

Speaker 0

测试测试,1212。

Testing testing 1212.

Speaker 0

他们从来数不到三。

They never get to three.

Speaker 0

我觉得他们就该这么干。

I think that they should do that.

Speaker 0

我觉得就别停,一直数下去。

I think they should just keep counting.

Speaker 0

12345678910,11。

12345678910 11.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你肯定在想,卢克,你到底在说啥?

You're probably thinking, Luke, what are you talking about?

Speaker 0

你疯了吧。

You're insane.

Speaker 0

你脑子有问题吧。

You're crazy.

Speaker 0

我不明白你在说什么。

I don't know what you're talking about.

Speaker 0

你真是失去理智了。

You have lost your mind.

Speaker 0

嗯,没有。

Well, no.

Speaker 0

我没疯。

I haven't.

Speaker 0

我没疯。

I haven't.

Speaker 0

就是啊,你知道的,录播客的时候你得一直说下去。

It's just because, you know, when you're recording a podcast, you have to keep talking.

Speaker 0

有时候吧,你开始聊一个话题,就得一直说下去,因为这是播客,停不下来。

And sometimes, you know, you you start talking about something, and you have to just keep going because you can't stop because it's a podcast.

Speaker 0

对啊。

Right.

Speaker 0

好了,咱们言归正传。

Now, let's get down to business.

Speaker 0

这期呢,我要教你们一些特别实用的东西。

In this episode, I'm gonna teach you some really useful things, in fact.

Speaker 0

我已经好久没专门讲过语言知识点啦。

It's been a while since I taught you things or focused on language in particular.

Speaker 0

最近几期都是访谈,挺有帮助的,能听到地道的英语是怎么实际说的。

Recent episodes have been interviews, which are really useful because you can listen to authentic English as it really is spoken.

Speaker 0

不过我觉得,咱们也得仔细看看语言本身的几个特点——词汇、发音、语法,虽然语法一般都挺无聊的,除非你是个死磕语法的极客或者书呆子啥的。

But I also think it's important for us to look closely at some features of language too, either vocabulary, pronunciation, or grammar, even though grammar is usually pretty boring unless you're some kind of grammar obsessed geek or nerd or something.

Speaker 0

所以这期呢,咱们就聚焦几个语言小点。

So in this episode, we're going to focus on a few things, a few bits of language.

Speaker 0

首先,我们来聊聊以 -ed 结尾的发音。

First, we're going to look at the pronunciation of e d endings.

Speaker 0

这个对全世界很多人来说都挺头疼的。

That's often a tricky area for many people around the world.

Speaker 0

待会儿咱们多练几遍。

We're going to practice that a bit.

Speaker 0

就是那些规则动词,或者以 -ed 结尾的形容词,它们的结尾怎么读。

So that's ed endings, the endings of regular verbs or the endings of adjectives that have ed at the end.

Speaker 0

我刚才说了,这特别容易出错,尤其是说葡萄牙语和西班牙语的人,其他语言的母语者也一样。

As I said, that's often a tricky area, particularly for speakers of Portuguese or Spanish and also other languages.

Speaker 0

像巴西人、西班牙人,常常会把 -ed 发成类似 'id' 或者 'ed' 的音。

It seems that like Brazilians, Spanish people often will pronounce e d verbs with the kind of id sound or ed sound.

Speaker 0

比如我说 'stopped',但巴西人或西班牙人可能会说成 'stop it'。

So whereas I would say stopped, you might find like a Brazilian or Spanish person saying stop it.

Speaker 0

像 'asked',我念的是 'asked',但你可能会念成 'ask ed'。

I would say for example, asked asked and you might say asked for example.

Speaker 0

其实这大概是因为你看到‘asked’这个词,拼写看起来像‘arc-ed’,但其实它根本不是这么读的,尽管拼写让人这么以为。

It's probably just because when you read the word asked it looks like arced, but it's not pronounced arced even though the spelling suggests that it is.

Speaker 0

它实际读作‘askt’。

It's actually pronounced arced.

Speaker 0

但你要是没怎么跟母语是英语的人待过,或者没怎么听过地道的英语口语,又或者你以前的老师教错了,可能就不知道这一点。

But you might not know that unless you've, you know, spent time with native English speakers or you've been listening to English as it really is spoken, or maybe your teachers at school taught you something wrong.

Speaker 0

总之,这问题挺常见的。

Anyway, it's often a problem.

Speaker 0

所以这正是我们这一集要重点练的内容。

So that that's one of the things that we're gonna do in this episode.

Speaker 0

除了这个,我们还会学一些实用的规则动词,还有一些带-ed的形容词。

There will also be some vocabulary, some regular verbs that you might find useful, but also some e d adjectives.

Speaker 0

如果你觉得这内容有点基础,别担心,后面我还会穿插一些地道的表达。

Now if this sounds a little bit basic, then don't worry because I'm also going to throw in some idiomatic language as we continue.

Speaker 0

好了,欢迎收听卢克的英语播客。

Anyway, this is Luke's English podcast.

Speaker 0

每次都特别有意思,也很实用,对吧?

It's always really fun and useful, isn't it?

Speaker 0

我的意思是,希望我这期节目既能让你听得开心,又能学到东西。

I mean, you know, hopefully, I'll be able to make the episode entertaining as well as informative.

Speaker 0

这正是我的目标。

That's my plan.

Speaker 0

也是我的挑战。

That's my challenge.

Speaker 0

接着听下去,你会发现这期节目特别有用。

So listen on, and you'll find this episode to be extremely useful.

Speaker 0

关于这期节目的语言要点,你可以在 teacherluke.podomatic.com 或 teacherluke.wordpress.com 上找到。

So you will find some language notes related to to this episode on either teacherluke.podomatic.com or teacherluke.wordpress.com.

Speaker 0

那我们就开始吧。

So let's get started.

Speaker 0

首先,咱们来看看以 -ed 结尾的词。

First, let's look at e d endings.

Speaker 0

就像我说的,这对很多人来说挺难的,但用得特别多。

So as I said, they're tricky for many people, but they're very, very common.

Speaker 0

所以你现在就应该能正确读出以-ed结尾的词了。

So you really should be able to pronounce words that end with e d correctly by now.

Speaker 0

以-ed结尾的词一共有三种读法。

There are three ways to pronounce words that end in e d.

Speaker 0

要么读成/t/音,要么读成/d/音,要么读成/id/音。

You can end it with a t sound, that's t, or with a d sound, or with an id sound.

Speaker 0

比如‘asked’这个词,结尾就是/t/音。

So for example, you've got asked, so that ends with a t sound.

Speaker 0

对了,听这期节目的时候,你最好跟着我重复几句,等会儿我也会给你一些机会,让你跟着练。

By the way, while while you're listening to this episode, it might be good for you to repeat some of the stuff that I'm saying, and in fact, I'll give you some opportunities to repeat some things while we are going through this.

Speaker 0

我觉得你真该多重复几次。

I think you should repeat sometimes.

Speaker 0

你得跟我复述,这样对你的发音特别有帮助。

You should repeat after me because it's good for your pronunciation.

Speaker 0

第一种是发/t/音,比如‘asked’。

So first one is t, for example, asked.

Speaker 0

第二种是/d/音,比如‘agreed’。

Next one is d, for example, agreed.

Speaker 0

第三种是/id/音,比如‘wanted’。

And then you've got id, which would be, for example, wanted.

Speaker 0

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

那你怎么知道该读哪个音呢?

So how do you know the correct how do you know the correct pronunciation?

Speaker 0

看到一个以-ed结尾的规则动词,你怎么判断它该读成/t/、/d/还是/id/?

If you look at a regular verb, e d ending, how do you know whether it should be pronounced t, d, or id?

Speaker 0

这取决于动词最后一个音是什么。

Well, it depends on the sound at the end of the verb.

Speaker 0

懂了吗?

You see?

Speaker 0

比如,'ask' 这个词以 'k' 音结尾,而 'k' 是个清辅音。

So for example, ask ends in a k sound, and k is an unvoiced consonant sound.

Speaker 0

清辅音的意思是你发声时不用声带,就是说,发这个音的时候喉咙不震动。

Unvoiced because you don't use your voice, that's you don't use your voice like that as your voice.

Speaker 0

发这个音的时候,声带是不参与的,所以 't' 也是清音,不用声带。

You don't use that when you make the sound, so t doesn't use your voice.

Speaker 0

所以如果动词结尾是清音,比如 'ask' 里的 'k',那过去式就加一个清音 't'。

But then so if it's an unvoiced sound at the end of the verb, for example, k at the end of ask, then you add an unvoiced consonant which is t at the end.

Speaker 0

所以就变成了 'asked'。

So you get asked.

Speaker 0

明白了吗?

Alright?

Speaker 0

要是动词结尾是浊音呢?比如 'agree',你能听到那个 'e' 音,那是浊音,因为发这个音时声带是震动的,这时候就加 'd'。

Now if it's a voiced sound at the end of the verb, for example, agree, so there you can hear the e sound, that's a voiced sound because you use your voice when you make the sound, e, then you add d.

Speaker 0

而 'd' 本身也是浊音,所以浊音连着浊音,念起来更顺口。

Now d is also a voiced sound, so it's easier to connect a voiced sound to another voiced sound.

Speaker 0

所以像 agree 这样的词,你就说 agreed,很清晰。

So ask so agree, you would say agreed clearly.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

最后一种情况是 id,当动词以 t 或 d 音结尾时就加这个。

And then finally, you've got id and that is added when the verb ends in a t or or d sound.

Speaker 0

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

比如 want 以 t 音结尾,你就说 wanted。

So want ends in a sound, so you'd say wanted.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

就这些了。

That's it.

Speaker 0

基本就是这些。

That's the basics.

Speaker 0

这就是它的科学原理。

That's the science of it.

Speaker 0

这些规则在流利说话时很难记清楚、马上用上,对吧?

It's kind of hard to remember and process those rules during fluent speech, isn't it though?

Speaker 0

知道这些规则当然好,但真开口说的时候,想马上用上可太难了。

So I mean it's it's all good kind of knowing the rules, but it's very difficult to actually apply them when you're speaking the language.

Speaker 0

你总不能在说话时停一下,心想:好了。

So you can't sort of say, okay.

Speaker 0

所以今天我问,我不知道是k还是ask。

So today, I ask I don't know the k ask.

Speaker 0

对。

Okay.

Speaker 0

这是个k,是个清音音节,所以发k音,其实是t的音。

That's a k that's an unvoiced syllable, so it's gonna be k with a that's a t sound.

Speaker 0

比如我说‘asked’,我问老师一个问题,但你其实没法这么念。

So asked I asked my teacher a question, and, you know, you can't really do that.

Speaker 0

这太荒谬了。

It's ridiculous.

Speaker 0

所以你真正该做的,是反复在句子中练习正确发音,慢慢就自然说对了。

So what you should do really is practice repeating the words in sentences with the correct pronunciation so so you just get used to saying them correctly.

Speaker 0

另外,你可以试着单独练练这些音,就像去健身房锻炼一样,只不过练的是你嘴里的肌肉,让它们习惯准确发出这些音。

Also, it might be good practice for you to just sort of try and make the sounds because it's like going to the gymnasium but in your mouth, and you kind of practice using the muscles in your mouth to pronounce the sounds correctly.

Speaker 0

对很多听这个的人来说,要纠正这个问题,得先放下你母语里用了好多年的错误说法,因为你学英语时,要么是自己看单词拼读的,要么小时候根本没人告诉你正确的发音。

For many of you listening to this, getting this right will involve unlearning many many years of speaking in your native language or many years of just saying these English words wrong because, you know, naturally you read the words from a page when you learnt the language or because no one told you the correct way of pronouncing them when you were you were young.

Speaker 0

所以年纪大了就更难改,因为错误已经固化了。

So if you're older, it's harder to get this right because the errors are fossilized.

Speaker 0

但如果你还年轻,那恭喜你。

But if you're young, then congratulations.

Speaker 0

不是说年轻就该得奖,但反正恭喜你,因为你更有机会纠正这些可能已经定型的发音错误。

Not just for being young, I mean you don't get a medal or anything for being young, but you know congratulations anyway because you stand a better chance of fixing this potentially fossilized error.

Speaker 0

所以如果你年轻,就多练吧。

So if you're young, you should practice.

Speaker 0

你越年轻,就越该多练发音,因为以后会大有好处。

The younger you are, the more pronunciation practice you should do because it will pay off later on.

Speaker 0

年纪大了呢,其实能做的不多,或者说更难了,因为你得花更多力气去改发音——你的嘴部肌肉早就习惯了某种说法。

When you're older, you know, there's there's not that much you can do or in fact it's a lot harder when you're older because you've got to work harder on your pronunciation because your muscles are so used to saying words in certain ways.

Speaker 0

所以嘛,人人都该多练,但如果你年轻,那真不错。

So I guess, right, everyone should practice a lot, but if you're young, well done.

Speaker 0

对你来说会容易多了。

It's gonna be easier.

Speaker 0

但如果你年纪大了,唉,真不好意思,要改掉那些早就养成的错误发音,确实会更费劲。

But if you're older, you know, sorry, it's gonna be a little bit harder to unlearn a lot of the things you've you've got wrong already.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

好了,接下来我来跟你们讲几个动词。

Anyway, next let me go through some some verbs with you.

Speaker 0

我会先念出动词原形,不带-ed结尾,你试着猜猜该怎么读。

I'm gonna say the verb without the 'ed' ending and just try and predict how to how to say it.

Speaker 0

是读 'd' 还是 'id' 呢?

Is it 'd' or 'id'?

Speaker 0

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

第一个来了。

Here's the first one.

Speaker 0

agree(同意)

Agree.

Speaker 0

嗯,agree(同意)

Well, agree.

Speaker 0

应该是 'd' 吧?

Well, it's d, isn't it?

Speaker 0

agreed(同意了)

Agreed.

Speaker 0

ask(问)

Ask.

Speaker 0

其实是 't'。

Well, it's t.

Speaker 0

所以是 'asked'。

So asked.

Speaker 0

到达。

Arrive.

Speaker 0

这回该是 'd' 了。

Well, it's gonna be d.

Speaker 0

所以是 'arrived'。

So arrived.

Speaker 0

乞求。

Beg.

Speaker 0

那就是 'begged'。

That's begged.

Speaker 0

你可能在想:等等,'beg' 到底啥意思?

You might be thinking, wait a minute, what does beg mean?

Speaker 0

乞求

Beg.

Speaker 0

就是一直说‘求求你,求求你,求求你’。

Well, it's when you say please, please, please.

Speaker 0

比如说,你特别用力地喊‘求你了’。

For example, it's when you say please very strongly.

Speaker 0

假设你饿得不行,一点吃的都没有,你可能会向别人乞求点吃的。

Let's say you don't have any food and you're really hungry, you might beg someone for food.

Speaker 0

如果你是个流浪汉,没家没钱,那就只能靠乞讨要饭吃。

If you're a beggar for example, if you're homeless or you don't have any money, you need to beg for food.

Speaker 0

不好意思,兄弟,能给我二十便士吗?

Excuse me mate, can you give me 20 p?

Speaker 0

就是这种感觉。

That kind of thing.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

乞讨

Begging.

Speaker 0

对啊

Right.

Speaker 0

所以,asked、arrived、begged、blush,这些词都是动词。

So agreed, asked, arrived, begged, blush.

Speaker 0

Blush 是另一个动词。

Blush is another verb.

Speaker 0

当你不好意思的时候,脸会发红,这就叫 blush。

Blush means to if you get embarrassed and your face goes red, that's to blush.

Speaker 0

我说我 blush 了,意思就是我脸红了,因为觉得不好意思。

So I blushed that means my face went red because I was embarrassed.

Speaker 0

这种事经常发生在我身上。

That happens to me quite a lot.

Speaker 0

我不是说总容易不好意思,而是我确实挺容易脸红的,说不上为什么,就是特别容易尴尬。

I mean not just because I get embarrassed a lot, when I do get embarrassed quite a lot because I don't know, I'm easy to embarrass.

Speaker 0

我这个人有点敏感,你知道的。

I'm a bit sensitive, you see.

Speaker 0

我是个感情细腻的人。

I'm a sensitive soul.

Speaker 0

所以我特别容易脸红。

So I'm easily embarrassed.

Speaker 0

也可能是因为我是英国人,英国人本来就有点拘谨。

But also maybe because I'm English and just generally English people are a bit awkward.

Speaker 0

再就是,我老是管不住嘴,想到啥说啥。

But also because often I just say things.

Speaker 0

想逗个乐子,结果话说出口人家根本不觉得好笑,我就尴尬了。

Try to be funny and I say things that then people don't find funny and then I get embarrassed.

Speaker 0

说不清为啥,感觉像得了什么搞笑的病似的。

I don't know, it's like some sort of humorous disease of some kind.

Speaker 0

总之,脸红就是你尴尬的时候脸变红了。

Anyway, to blush means when your face goes red when you're embarrassed.

Speaker 0

blush这个词以辅音结尾,所以-ed发音是/t/,读作blushed。

Blush, well it ends in a sound, so of course the pronunciation of the 'ed' ending of that word is t, so blushed.

Speaker 0

下一个词是chat,过去式是chatted。

Next word is chat which would be chatted.

Speaker 0

decide变成decided。

Decide, that's decided.

Speaker 0

drop变成dropped。

Drop, that's dropped.

Speaker 0

enjoy——

Enjoy.

Speaker 0

那就是enjoyed。

That's enjoyed.

Speaker 0

enjoyed。

Enjoyed.

Speaker 0

explain。

Explain.

Speaker 0

解释了。

Explained.

Speaker 0

凝视。

Gaze.

Speaker 0

那就是凝视了。

That's gazed.

Speaker 0

凝视是什么意思,卢克?

What does gaze mean, Luke?

Speaker 0

嗯,凝视就是盯着看。

Well, gaze is when you look.

Speaker 0

就是一种看的方式。

It's a it's a way of looking.

Speaker 0

比如你可能盯着窗外发呆——假设你正在上英语课,老师正讲什么现在完成进行时的被动语态,无聊得要命。

So you might, for example, gaze out of the window if you're sort of let's say you're in an English class and the teacher is explaining something about passive verb forms in the in the present perfect continuous tense, and it's like really boring.

Speaker 0

于是你就望向窗外,看见有个漂亮的姑娘正走在街上。

And so you you look out the window, and there you can see like a beautiful girl walking down the street.

Speaker 0

你就只是盯着窗外看,因为她头发特别好看什么的。

And you just gaze out of the window because she's got beautiful hair or something.

Speaker 0

所以‘凝视’呢,就是那种……说不好,就是一种看的方式。

So to gaze is to kind of look in a kind of I don't know.

Speaker 0

脸上带着一种悠远的表情看着。

Look with a sort of long expression on your face.

Speaker 0

朝窗外凝视。

Gaze out of the window.

Speaker 0

你可能会对着美丽的风景出神地看。

You might gaze at a beautiful view.

Speaker 0

这不叫死盯着,因为死盯着别人挺没礼貌的,对吧?

It's not stare because if you stare at something that's kind of rude, isn't it?

Speaker 0

死盯着人家确实挺不礼貌的。

It's considered to be rude if you stare.

Speaker 0

你生气的时候可能会死盯着,但要是被什么美丽或奇妙的东西吸引住了,那叫凝视。

You might stare if you're angry, but you gaze if you're kind of filled with wonder or amazement at something beautiful or fascinating.

Speaker 0

你就会这么望着它。

You gaze at it.

Speaker 0

所以就是望着窗外。

So gazing out of the window.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

没错。

Exactly.

Speaker 0

要是你看到天上有一只特别漂亮的鸟,可能会望着窗外看它。

If you see an amazing looking bird in the sky, you might gaze out of the window and look at it.

Speaker 0

对啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

凝视。

Gaze.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

这词听着是不是像别的词啊?

It doesn't it it sounds like another word, doesn't it?

Speaker 0

凝视。

Gaze.

Speaker 0

听起来是像别的词,但其实不是。

It does sound like another word, but no.

Speaker 0

凝视。

Gaze.

Speaker 0

刚才那句有点尴尬了。

That was that that's a little bit embarrassing.

Speaker 0

我都脸红了。

I'm blushing.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

下一个词是‘grab’。

Grab is the next word.

Speaker 0

Grab。

Grab.

Speaker 0

就是你用手快速拿住某物的时候,叫‘grab’。

So that's when you take something quickly with your hand, you grab it.

Speaker 0

所以‘grabbed’是它的过去式。

So grabbed is the past form.

Speaker 0

Grabbed。

Grabbed.

Speaker 0

发的是‘d’的音。

So it's a d sound.

Speaker 0

Jump。

Jump.

Speaker 0

那 jumped 就是这么用的。

Well, jumped.

Speaker 0

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

Jumped。

Jumped.

Speaker 0

比如 knock,就是敲门。

Knock, for example, knock on the door.

Speaker 0

Knocked。

Knocked.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

发的是 t 音。

T sound.

Speaker 0

看,looked 就是这么用的。

Look, that's looked.

Speaker 0

明白吧?

Okay?

Speaker 0

miss变成了missed。

Miss missed.

Speaker 0

open变成了opened。

Open opened.

Speaker 0

phone变成了phoned。

Phone phoned.

Speaker 0

顺便说一下,这些可不是随便挑的动词。

By the way, these aren't just random verbs.

Speaker 0

懂了吧?

Okay?

Speaker 0

这背后是有逻辑的。

There is a logic to this.

Speaker 0

我这么做是有道理的。

There's method in my madness.

Speaker 0

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

相信我,我是英语老师。

Trust me, I'm an English teacher.

Speaker 0

我可不是随便挑几个动词糊弄你。

I'm not just like saying random verbs to you.

Speaker 0

这些动词其实都会串成一个我写好的小故事。

These verbs will all actually come together in a kind of story which I've written.

Speaker 0

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

你先别急,听我说完。

So just, you know, bear with me.

Speaker 0

你先注意听这些动词里 -ed 的发音,等下你就发现,它们全都会用在我要读给你的那个故事里。

Just listen to the pronunciation of the e d endings, then you will find that all of these verbs will be used in a story which I'm gonna read to you.

Speaker 0

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

所以别急,等等。

So just hold on.

Speaker 0

再耐心一下。

Bear with me.

Speaker 0

对,就是这样。

Right.

Speaker 0

选。

Pick.

Speaker 0

选。

Pick.

Speaker 0

选了。

Picked.

Speaker 0

推荐就是被推荐。

Recommend would be recommended.

Speaker 0

回复。

Reply.

Speaker 0

回了。

Replied.

Speaker 0

好像。

Seem.

Speaker 0

好像过。

Seemed.

Speaker 0

尖叫了、震惊了、展示了、跳过了、跳过。

Scream screamed, shock shocked, show showed, skip skipped, skip.

Speaker 0

我讲故事的时候是怎么用‘跳过’这个词的?

How did I use the word skip in the story?

Speaker 0

好吧。

Okay.

Speaker 0

有个说法叫‘心跳漏了一拍’。

The expression is if your heart skips a beat.

Speaker 0

我心跳漏了一拍。

My heart skipped a beat.

Speaker 0

平时你的心跳都是这样的。

So normally your heart goes like that.

Speaker 0

明白吧?

Okay?

Speaker 0

但如果你的心跳漏了一拍,那说明你被某件事吓到了,或者特别感动。

But if your heart skips a beat, it means that when you're, like, very surprised or very touched emotionally by something, your heart skips a beat.

Speaker 0

比如说,你暗恋的姑娘突然跟你说她也喜欢你,那一刻我心跳都停了。

For example, if, you know, a girl that you're in love with tells you that she loves you, my heart skipped a beat.

Speaker 0

听起来好像有点矫情。

It sounds kind of sounds a bit pathetic.

Speaker 0

当然了,要是真爷们儿,心根本不会漏拍。

Obviously, if you're a real macho man, then your heart doesn't skip a beat.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我可是真汉子。

I'm a I'm a real man.

Speaker 0

我心跳可没停过。

My heart didn't skip a beat.

Speaker 0

但如果你是个感性的浪漫派,有人跟你说爱我,那确实会。

But if you're a sensitive romantic person and someone tells you that they love you, then yeah.

Speaker 0

哇哦。

Oh, wow.

Speaker 0

我心跳都停了。

My heart skipped a beat.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

行吧。

Okay.

Speaker 0

接下来我要讲个故事,有点浪漫,但也挺傻的。

It's gonna be a slightly romantic if a little bit ridiculous, this story, which I'm gonna tell you.

Speaker 0

马上就要说到正题了。

We're we're we're gonna get there in a moment.

Speaker 0

好。

Okay.

Speaker 0

来啦。

Here we go.

Speaker 0

笑一个。

Smile.

Speaker 0

又来一个。

That's another one.

Speaker 0

笑了。

Smiled.

Speaker 0

捏一下。

Squeeze.

Speaker 0

捏了。

Squeezed.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

捏一下,就是那种感觉。

Squeeze is like okay.

Speaker 0

比如你在电影院牵着别人的手,轻轻捏一下,对吧?

If you're holding someone's hand in the movie theater in the cinema and you squeeze someone's hand let's say, okay.

Speaker 0

这简直是个浪漫播客了。

This is kind of romantic podcast.

Speaker 0

明白吧?

Alright?

Speaker 0

假设你和女朋友在电影院,电影里突然来了个特别浪漫的场景。

Let's say you're in the the cinema with your girlfriend and something happens in the movie which is let's say, okay, it's very romantic moment in the movie.

Speaker 0

你可能会不自觉地捏紧她的手。

You might squeeze your girlfriend's hand.

Speaker 0

就是握得更紧一点。

It's like you hold your her hand more tightly.

Speaker 0

懂了吧?

Okay?

Speaker 0

要是换作恐怖电影的话,比如说画面里刚有人被砍头了,那你大概率也会紧紧攥住女朋友的手。

Or if it's a horror film, and let's say someone's just had their head chopped off, then you might squeeze your girlfriend's hand as well.

Speaker 0

或者反过来,她会攥着你的手,那架势就像在说‘我的天,这也太可怕了’。

Or she would probably squeeze your hand as if to say, oh my god, that's horrible.

Speaker 0

‘我好怕’。

I'm scared.

Speaker 0

那这种场景就没那么浪漫了,对吧?

So that's not so romantic, is it?

Speaker 0

不过话说回来,你更喜欢哪一种啊?

But anyway, what do you what would you what would you prefer?

Speaker 0

爱情片还是恐怖片?

Like romance or horror?

Speaker 0

也有可能你都喜欢?

Or both maybe.

Speaker 0

说不定还能有那种带爱情元素的恐怖片呢。

Maybe you could have like a romantic horror film.

Speaker 0

这主意不错。

That might be a good idea.

Speaker 0

哎呀,我跑题了。

Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked.

Speaker 0

捏一下。

Squeeze.

Speaker 0

你听过‘现榨橙汁’这个说法吗?

Well, you know the expression freshly squeezed orange juice?

Speaker 0

就是这个意思。

Well, there you go.

Speaker 0

你拿个橙子,放进榨汁机一压,果汁就全出来了。

You take the orange, you squeeze it in a machine, and then all the juice comes out.

Speaker 0

现榨的橙汁。

Squeezed orange juice.

Speaker 0

对吧。

Right.

Speaker 0

下一个动词是 start,过去式是 started,当然这么读。

Next verb is start, which would be pronounced started, of course.

Speaker 0

touch,过去式是 touched。

Touch, touched.

Speaker 0

stop,过去式是 stopped。

Stop, stopped.

Speaker 0

stroll,过去式是 strolled。

Stroll, strolled.

Speaker 0

等一下,Luke。

Wait a minute, Luke.

Speaker 0

stroll 是什么意思?

What does stroll mean?

Speaker 0

stroll 就是悠闲地散步的意思。

Stroll, it means to walk in a relaxed way.

Speaker 0

那咱们去公园散个步吧,亲爱的?

So let's go for a stroll in the park, shall we, darling?

Speaker 0

意思就是,咱们去公园里悠闲地散个步吧。

Meaning, let's go and have a nice relaxing walk in the park.

Speaker 0

我们手牵着手在公园里慢慢散步。

We strolled through the park holding each other's hands.

Speaker 0

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

这简直是最肉麻的浪漫故事了。

This is the most sort of sickly sweet romantic story.

Speaker 0

我们在公园里手牵着手散步,然后她一刀砍下了我的头,血溅得满地都是。

We stroll through the park holding each other's hands, and then she chopped my head off and blood went everywhere.

Speaker 0

明白了吧?

See?

Speaker 0

又恐怖又浪漫。

Bit of horror, bit of romance.

Speaker 0

大家都挺开心的。

Everyone's happy.

展开剩余字幕(还有 480 条)
Speaker 0

嗯,大家都挺开心的,不过估计也有人觉得恶心。

Well, everyone's happy and probably some people are disgusted.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

但这是卢克的英语播客啊。

But this is Luke's English podcast.

Speaker 0

你到底指望啥啊?

What did you expect for God's sake?

Speaker 0

下一个词是‘suggest’,很明显结尾是/t/音。

Next word is suggest, which obviously ends in a t sound.

Speaker 0

所以没错,‘-ed’结尾当然读成/ɪd/。

So yes, of course, the e d ending will be pronounced id.

Speaker 0

所以是‘suggested’。

So suggested.

Speaker 0

还剩两个动词。

Two more verbs left.

Speaker 0

明白了吧?

Okay?

Speaker 0

下一个词是walk,变成过去式就是walked,然后是want,过去式是wanted。

Next one is walk, which would be walked, and then want, which is wanted.

Speaker 0

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

动词部分就这些了。

That's the end of the the verbs.

Speaker 0

接下来我要念一个小故事,挺短的,听起来有点荒唐,其实也没那么离谱。

What I'm now gonna do is kind of read you a short and ridiculous story, which it's not that ridiculous.

Speaker 0

也不是说今天这头粉红大猩猩突然不会说我的语言了。

It's not like the pink gorilla can't speak my own language today.

Speaker 0

今天真是累坏了。

It's been a long day.

Speaker 0

对吧。

Right.

Speaker 0

所以这个故事也没那么离谱。

So it's not that ridiculous, this story.

Speaker 0

没那只粉红大猩猩的故事那么离谱,那个才真是荒唐透顶。

It's not as ridiculous as the pink gorilla story because that was utterly ridiculous.

Speaker 0

不过呢,我写这个故事主要是为了带出一些以-ed结尾的动词。

But anyway, the I wrote this story as a way of presenting some e d verbs, basically.

Speaker 0

你听故事的时候,重点留意一下我怎么念那些-ed结尾的词。

So listen to the story and just what you can do is try and pay attention to the way I pronounce some of the e d words.

Speaker 0

要听它们在自然语流里的发音。

Listen to them in fluent sentences.

Speaker 0

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

你试试看能不能做到。

See if you can do that.

Speaker 0

好,开始吧。

Alright.

Speaker 0

你先听这个故事,等讲完后,我会慢一点把这些句子读一遍,你跟着我复述。

So just listen to the story, and then when we finished, I'm gonna read the sentences more slowly and you can repeat them after me.

Speaker 0

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

那我们开始吧。

So here we go.

Speaker 0

故事来了。

Here's the story.

Speaker 0

这个故事叫《办公室的新同事》。

The story is called The New Girl in the Office.

Speaker 0

《办公室的新同事》。

The New Girl in the Office.

Speaker 0

下面就是了。

And here it is.

Speaker 0

我正一个人在办公室坐着,突然有人敲门,我就停下了手头的工作。

I was sitting alone in my office when someone knocked on the door and I stopped working.

Speaker 0

门一开,进来一位漂亮的女士。

The door opened and a pretty woman walked in.

Speaker 0

她一看我,我心跳就漏了一拍。

When she looked at me, my heart jumped.

Speaker 0

她真的特别美。

She was very beautiful.

Speaker 0

我盯着她看了好一会儿。

I gazed back at her for a moment.

Speaker 0

我的心跳越来越快。

My my heart started beating faster.

Speaker 0

我忍不住觉得,她好像也挺紧张的。

I couldn't help noticing that she seemed nervous too.

Speaker 0

我一看她,她脸就微微红了。

She blushed slightly when I looked at her.

Speaker 0

您是汤普森先生吗?

Are you mister Thompson?

Speaker 0

她问我。

She asked me.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

我就是,我回答说。

I am, I replied.

Speaker 0

有什么可以帮您的吗?

How can I help you?

Speaker 0

不好意思打扰您了,她说。

Sorry to bother you, she said.

Speaker 0

她甜甜地笑了笑。

She smiled sweetly.

Speaker 0

我是新来办公室的。

I'm I'm the new girl in the office.

Speaker 0

我昨天刚到。

I just arrived yesterday.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

没错。

That's right.

Speaker 0

我昨天可想你了。

I missed you yesterday.

Speaker 0

我那天不在办公室,我解释说。

I was out of the office, I explained.

Speaker 0

哦,没关系的。

Oh, it's no problem.

Speaker 0

我给你打过电话,但你没在。

I phoned you, but you weren't in.

Speaker 0

我只是想说,能和你一起工作我真的特别开心。

I just wanted to say that I'm really glad to be working with you.

Speaker 0

我早就听说过你了。

I've heard a lot about you.

Speaker 0

我脸红了。

I blushed.

Speaker 0

她实在太贴心了。

She was being so nice.

Speaker 0

我干脆不干了,带她逛逛办公室。

I decided to stop working so I could show her around the office.

Speaker 0

我们一边走一边看,我给她介绍了整个大楼。

We strolled through the building and I showed her around.

Speaker 0

聊着聊着,我们聊得特别投缘。

As we chatted, we connected on a deep and meaningful level.

Speaker 0

她问我附近有什么不错的餐厅。

She asked me if I knew any nice restaurants in the area.

Speaker 0

我推荐了车站附近一家特别棒的英式餐厅。

I recommended a really good English one near the station.

Speaker 0

她说想喝杯咖啡,我就用新机器给她煮了一杯。

She said she wanted a coffee, so I used the new machine to make her one.

Speaker 0

我递给她的时候,手不小心碰到了,心跳都漏了一拍。

When I gave it to her, our hands touched briefly and my heart skipped a beat.

Speaker 0

过了一会儿,我提议一起去那家英国餐厅吃顿浪漫的炸鱼薯条。

After a moment, I suggested that we go to the English restaurant together for a romantic meal of fish and chips.

Speaker 0

她答应了,我心里乐开了花。

She agreed, and inside, I was delighted.

Speaker 0

那天晚上,我骑着 scooter 去接她。

Later that evening, I picked her up on my scooter.

Speaker 0

一路上颠颠簸簸的,她紧紧搂住我的腰。

As we rode through the bumpy streets, she squeezed my waist to hold on.

Speaker 0

我一加速到每小时五十公里,她兴奋得尖叫起来。

When I sped up to 32 miles per hour, she screamed with excitement.

Speaker 0

我们度过了一个特别棒的夜晚。

We enjoyed a wonderful evening together.

Speaker 0

她真的太棒了。

She was amazing.

Speaker 0

送她到家的时候,我脑子一热,做了个决定。

When I dropped her off at her house, I made a quick decision.

Speaker 0

你愿意嫁给我吗?

Will you marry me?

Speaker 0

我问她。

I asked.

Speaker 0

结婚?

Get married?

Speaker 0

她吓了一跳,说:

She said, shocked.

Speaker 0

问题是,我不能,她说。

The thing is, I can't, she said.

Speaker 0

为什么不能?

Why not?

Speaker 0

我恳求道。

I begged.

Speaker 0

我爱你。

I love you.

Speaker 0

求你嫁给我吧。

Please marry me.

Speaker 0

她一把抓住我的胳膊说:我也爱你,但我不能嫁给你,因为这故事其实就到这里了。

She grabbed my arm and said, I love you too, but I can't marry you because that's actually the end of the story.

Speaker 0

这叫悬疑结尾。

It's a cliffhanger.

Speaker 0

悬疑结尾就是那种戏剧性的收尾,你得等着看接下来会发生什么。

Cliffhanger is one that has a kind of dramatic ending where, you know, you have to wait and see what happens next.

Speaker 0

所以我希望你们能给我提提建议,这故事该怎么收尾。

In fact, what I want you to do is send me your suggestions for how the story ends.

Speaker 0

那她为啥不能嫁给我?

So why can't she marry me?

Speaker 0

为什么不行?

Why not?

Speaker 0

到底是什么原因啊?

What what's what's the reason?

Speaker 0

她为啥不能嫁给我?

Why can't she marry me?

Speaker 0

这个嘛,各位,只有你们能决定,赶紧在播客底下留言说说你们的想法吧。

Well, only you can decide, ladies and gentlemen, and I'd like you to write your comments on this podcast.

Speaker 0

把你们的理由告诉我。

Give me your reasons.

Speaker 0

她为啥不能嫁给我?

Why can't she marry me?

Speaker 0

你觉得呢?

What do you think?

Speaker 0

这事儿就看你们了。

Well, it's up to you.

Speaker 0

现在咱们再把故事过一遍,我会重新念一遍每句话,你们跟着我复述。

Now, let's go back through the story and what I'm gonna do is read through the sentences again and give you a chance to repeat them after me.

Speaker 0

所以我先自然流畅地读一遍,正常语速,然后再慢一点,让你听清每个词,最后再用正常语速读一遍,之后你就跟着复述。

So I'll read them like once really really naturally at natural speed, then once kind of more slowly so you can hear the individual words, and then once again at natural speed and then you can repeat it.

Speaker 0

明白了吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

好了,开始吧。

So here it is.

Speaker 0

我正一个人在办公室坐着,突然有人敲门,我就停下了手头的工作。

I was sitting alone in my office when someone knocked on the door and I stopped working.

Speaker 0

我正一个人在办公室坐着,突然有人敲门,我就停下了手头的工作。

So I was sitting alone in my office when someone knocked on the door and I stopped working.

Speaker 0

我正一个人在办公室坐着,突然有人敲门,我就停下了手头的工作。

I was sitting alone in my office when someone knocked on the door and I stopped working.

Speaker 0

好。

Okay.

Speaker 0

第二句,门开了,一个漂亮的女士走了进来。

Number two, the door opened and a pretty woman walked in.

Speaker 0

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

门开了,一个漂亮的女士走了进来。

The door opened and a pretty woman walked in.

Speaker 0

是朱莉娅·罗伯茨吗?

Was it Julia Roberts?

Speaker 0

不是,不是她。

No, it wasn't.

Speaker 0

不是。

No.

Speaker 0

根本不是朱莉娅·罗伯茨。

It wasn't Julia Roberts.

Speaker 0

门开了,一个漂亮的女士走了进来。

The door opened and a pretty woman walked in.

Speaker 0

行吧?

K?

Speaker 0

第三点,她看我的时候,我心跳都停了一拍。

Number three, when she looked at me, my heart jumped.

Speaker 0

她真的特别美。

She was very beautiful.

Speaker 0

我盯着她看了好一会儿。

I gazed back at her for a moment.

Speaker 0

K?

K?

Speaker 0

她看我的时候,我心跳都停了一拍。

When she looked at me, my heart jumped.

Speaker 0

她真的特别美。

She was very beautiful.

Speaker 0

我盯着她看了好一会儿。

I gazed back at her for a moment.

Speaker 0

她看我的时候,我心跳都停了一拍。

When she looked at me, my heart jumped.

Speaker 0

她真的特别美。

She was very beautiful.

Speaker 0

我盯着她看了好一会儿。

I gazed back at her for a moment.

Speaker 0

第四,我的心跳突然加快了。

Number four, My heart started beating faster.

Speaker 0

我忍不住觉得她好像也挺紧张的。

I couldn't help noticing that she seemed nervous too.

Speaker 0

我一看她,她就微微脸红了。

She blushed slightly when I looked at her.

Speaker 0

我的心跳突然加快了。

My heart started beating faster.

Speaker 0

我忍不住觉得她好像也挺紧张的。

I couldn't help noticing that she seemed nervous too.

Speaker 0

我一看她,她就微微脸红了。

She blushed slightly when I looked at her.

Speaker 0

我心跳得更快了。

My heart started beating faster.

Speaker 0

我忍不住觉得她好像也很紧张。

I couldn't help noticing that she seemed nervous too.

Speaker 0

我一看她,她就微微脸红了。

She blushed slightly when I looked at her.

Speaker 0

对了,希望你别觉得我这样哼歌很奇怪。

By the way, I hope you don't think it's strange that I'm humming like that.

Speaker 0

我哼这个调子,一是给你当个节奏参考,二是帮我估摸你复述一遍得花多久。

That humming is a kind of guide for you and also just a a way for me to measure the time that it might take for you to repeat it.

Speaker 0

所以我才哼歌啊。

That's why I'm humming.

Speaker 0

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

好嘞。

Alright.

Speaker 0

行吧。

Fine.

Speaker 0

那第五个。

So number five.

Speaker 0

你是汤普森先生吗?

Are you mister Thompson?

Speaker 0

她问我。

She asked me.

Speaker 0

你是汤普森先生吗?

Are you mister Thompson?

Speaker 0

她问我。

She asked me.

Speaker 0

你是汤普森先生吗?

Are you mister Thompson?

Speaker 0

她问我。

She asked me.

Speaker 0

不是那种语气。

Not in that voice.

Speaker 0

也许我真的不知道。

Maybe I don't know.

Speaker 0

也许她有点伦敦东区口音。

Maybe she's kind of a cockney.

Speaker 0

你是汤普森先生吗?

Are you mister Thompson?

Speaker 0

我说不准她声音什么样。

I don't know what her voice was.

Speaker 1

你是汤普森先生吗?

Are you mister Thompson?

Speaker 0

她问我来着。

She asked me.

Speaker 0

我觉得她不可能是那种嗓音。

I I don't think she would have had a voice like that.

Speaker 1

你听得到我吗?

Are you hear me?

Speaker 1

你是汤普森先生吗?

Are you mister Thompson?

Speaker 1

不是。

No.

Speaker 0

我觉得不是。

I don't think so.

Speaker 0

要是她声音那样,可一点都不浪漫。

Wouldn't have been very romantic if she had a voice like that.

Speaker 0

我不清楚。

I don't know.

Speaker 0

她该有什么样的声音才对?

What kind of voice should she have?

Speaker 0

也许她是纽卡斯尔人。

Maybe maybe she was from Newcastle.

Speaker 0

您是汤普森先生吗?

Are you mister Thompson?

Speaker 0

也可能是来自贝尔法斯特的。

Or she could have been from Belfast.

Speaker 0

您是汤普森先生吗?

Are you mister Thompson?

Speaker 0

或者她的声音更浪漫一点。

Or maybe she's got more romantic sounding voice.

Speaker 0

我真不太会模仿那种又浪漫又性感的女声。

I'm not very good at doing like a very romantic sexy woman's voice.

Speaker 0

说不定她是美国人。

Maybe she was American.

Speaker 0

您……您真是汤普森先生吗?

Are you are you mister Thompson?

Speaker 0

是她问我的。

She asked me.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

是我。

I am.

Speaker 0

这是第六号。

This is number six.

Speaker 0

对。

Yes.

Speaker 0

是我,我回答道。

I am, I replied.

Speaker 0

有什么可以帮您的?

How can I help you?

Speaker 0

嗯。

Yes.

Speaker 0

是我,我回答道。

I am, I replied.

Speaker 0

有什么我可以帮你的吗?

How can I help you?

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

我说了,我在呢。

I am, I replied.

Speaker 0

有什么我可以帮你的吗?

How can I help you?

Speaker 0

第七个。

Number seven.

Speaker 0

她道歉说,不好意思打扰你。

Sorry to bother you, she said.

Speaker 0

她甜甜地笑了笑。

She smiled sweetly.

Speaker 0

我是新来办公室的。

I'm the new girl in the office.

Speaker 0

我昨天刚到的。

I just arrived yesterday.

Speaker 0

不好意思打扰你了,她说道。

Sorry to bother you, she said.

Speaker 0

她甜甜地笑了笑。

She smiled sweetly.

Speaker 0

我是办公室的新来的。

I'm the new girl in the office.

Speaker 0

我昨天刚到的。

I just arrived yesterday.

Speaker 0

不好意思打扰你了,她说道。

Sorry to bother you, she said.

Speaker 0

她甜甜地笑了笑。

She smiled sweetly.

Speaker 0

我是办公室的新来的。

I'm the new girl in the office.

Speaker 0

我昨天刚到。

I just arrived yesterday.

Speaker 0

对啊。

Right.

Speaker 0

这简直太荒唐了,你说是不是?

This is ridiculous, isn't it?

Speaker 0

这肯定让人觉得荒唐。

This must be ridiculous.

Speaker 0

如果你在听这个,而我正发出嗯嗯的声音。

If you're listening to this and I'm doing Mhmm.

Speaker 0

我这就这样比划着,

I'm going like this,

Speaker 1

你

you

Speaker 0

肯定觉得我疯了吧。

must think that I've lost my mind.

Speaker 0

但你知道吧,我就是想拯救这个世界。

But, you know, I'm just trying to save the world.

Speaker 0

我只是想帮你们学好英语,好让这个世界变得更好。

I'm just trying to help you to learn English so that you can make the world a better place.

Speaker 0

你知道的,别评判我。

You know, don't judge me.

Speaker 0

世界啊,别对我太苛刻了。

Don't judge me too harshly, world.

Speaker 0

我就是尽我所能了。

I'm just I'm just doing my best.

Speaker 0

明白吗?

Okay?

Speaker 0

对吧。

Right.

Speaker 0

如果觉得我怪,我道歉。

If it seems strange, I'm sorry.

Speaker 0

我不是故意显得怪怪的。

I don't mean to be strange.

Speaker 0

我只是想帮帮你。

I'm just trying to help.

Speaker 0

明白吧?

Okay?

Speaker 0

对吧。

Right.

Speaker 0

挺好。

Good.

Speaker 0

咱们继续学英语吧,怎么样?

Now let's get back to the English learning, shall we?

Speaker 0

好的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

就这么办。

Let's do that.

Speaker 0

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

那咱们什么时候开始呢?

Let's when should we do it?

Speaker 0

现在?

Now?

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

行。

Alright.

Speaker 0

这主意不错。

Good idea.

Speaker 0

咱们现在就开始吧。

Let's do it now.

Speaker 0

她说了,真不好意思打扰你,等等。

So sorry to bother you, she said, etc.

Speaker 0

对。

Right.

Speaker 0

八。

Eight.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

我昨天可想你了。

I missed you yesterday.

Speaker 0

我那天不在办公室,跟你说过了。

I was out of the office, I explained.
