The first one would be from Monday, where we talked about spring recruitment and the AI talent rush.

Spring recruitment is one of the two major hiring seasons each year, typically taking place from February to April.

And it comes right after the Chinese New Year when companies finalize their annual hiring plans and reopen recruitment.

今年在招聘会上。

At the at the recruitment fairs this year.

而且，这一年又到了校园里热闹非凡、招聘会人满为患、简历满天飞的时候了，我就是那时候找到第一份工作的。

Also, it's also that time of the year again where campuses are buzzing, job fairs are packed, and resumes are flying everywhere, I got my first job.

不是在这里，而是在春季招聘培训期间，我找到了第一份工作。

Not not with at here, but I got my first job during the spring recruitment training job.

Yeah.

I part started working in I remember very vividly March 30 on in 2020, I think.

But here is the point.

China it's one of China's two major hiring seasons running from around February to April.

所以对于许多像我这样的毕业生，五年前、六年前，这是踏入职场前最后一次争取工作机会的重要时刻。

So for many graduating students, like me, five, six years ago, it's the last major chance to secure a job before stepping into the workforce.

Alright.

So that was your first or that is your first selection.

What's your next one?

And we discussed getting feedback and input from younger people in the community so that the decision makers can have a better idea of how to serve the needs of the youth of the community.

You know, one common thread connecting three stories is really a question being asked here.

What does it mean to be ready and who gets to define it?

比如，在一场拥挤的招聘会上，所谓‘准备好’就像是一个移动的目标。

So at a crowded job fair, for example, readiness feels like a moving target.

你知道，不到十年前，物联网和计算机科学还被视为通往稳定、高薪科技职业的金钥匙，是人们梦寐以求的出路。

You know, less than a decade ago, the Internet of things, the computer sciences, that was seen were seen as a golden ticket to a stable, a high paying tech career that one can ever dream of.

But nowadays, with AI rising really fast, the conversation has shifted to a new concern.

How programmers and and computer tech gurus, how they can avoid being replaced.

So this year, AI is no longer a bonus skill like you mentioned, Steve.

It's not a luxury bonus item on a resume anymore.

It has to be there.

Here, readiness be for them becomes something you chase.

You constantly shape your skills and direction in order to keep up with the future that really refuses to stand still.

Now, if we step into a a city built for a child's perspective, here, readiness takes on a completely completely different shape.

不是孩子需要快速适应，而是整个系统本身正在被重新设计，人行道服务和安全措施都已经重新思考，以契合儿童的实际需求。

It's not the child who has to adapt quickly, but instead it's the system itself being redesigned where sidewalk services and safety measures are already all rethought to meet children where they are.

So readiness here in this case is something built into the environment in order to better it.

So, you know, one way and then the other way around and then there is the quieter kind of readiness where you just really have have nothing to do with systems or skills because spring vegetables don't ever prepare or optimize themselves.

And people, we have to adjust ourselves around that timing in order to wait for it, look for it, and seize it when it comes.

And if you miss it, you'll kind of wait for another year.

That's true.

That's true for fruits and vegetables too.

对吧？

Right?

如果错过季节，那就没办法了。

If you miss the season, too bad.

You gotta wait a long time.

樱花和桃花也是一样，嗯。

Same for the cherry blossoms and the peach blossoms Mhmm.

这一年这个时候的其他花也是如此。

And all the other flowers at this time of year too.

所以，是的。

So, yeah.

最终，这三个故事不仅展现了生活中不同的时刻。

In the end, these three stories don't just show different moments in life.

它们还展现了我们与‘准备就绪’这一概念之间的三种不同关系。

They show three different relationships we have with the idea of readiness.

第一种，是你适应世界。

One, where you adapt to the world.

第二种，是世界实际上适应了你，第三种则是双方都未能掌控局面，时机主导了一切。

One, where you where the world actually adapts to you, and then the other one where neither side is in control and timing really lead everything.

也许，理解这种差异才是真正为我们做好准备的关键，不仅为接下来的事情，更为如何应对它。

And maybe understanding that difference is what actually prepares us not just for what's next but for knowing how to meet it.

在这里，我至少想向你们提一个小问题。

And here, at least to a little question that I have for you guys.

当你思考自己的人生时，你什么时候会觉得自己准备好了？

When do you think about your own life in terms of being ready?

对你们来说，准备好意味着什么？

What what does being ready for you guys?

我不认为在我的人生中某个时刻，我需要为工作中的任务做好准备。

I don't think Well, at one time through my life, I do think I need to be ready for For example, for a task I need to do in my job.

我需要做好准备。

I need to be prepared.

我需要为那个任务做到百分之百的准备。

I need to be 100% ready for that task.

然后我意识到，这永远不会发生。

And then I realized, it's never gonna happen.

99%的时间里，我大概只准备了50%。

99% of the time, I'm like 50% prepared.

那已经是最好的情况了。

That's the best case scenario.

但大多数时候，在某些情况下，我只有十分钟时间来准备一项工作。

But most of the time In some cases, I've got like ten minutes to prepare for a job.

然后你就得临时上阵了。

And then you need to go air on something.

所以我意识到，关于‘准备’这件事，关键不在于你为单个任务准备得多充分。

So then I realized when it comes to ready, it's not about how well you prepared for a single tasks.

而更在于一种心态：明白世界在不断变化，你需要随之调整自己。

It's more more about a mindset of knowing the world is changing, and you need to adapt to the changing world yourself.

嗯。

Mhmm.

你刚才多次使用了‘准备’和‘准备好’这两个词。

You used the word prepared and ready multiple times there.

是的。

Yeah.

你差不多把它们当成了同义词。

And you kinda used them interchangeably.

但对我来说，‘准备好’和‘准备’并不是同一个意思。

But for me, ready and prepared are not the same words.

准备好了意味着你已经完成了工作。

Prepared means you've done the work.

你已经付出了努力，现在工作已经结束了。

You've put in the work and now the work is finished.

准备好是一种感觉。

Ready is a feeling.

准备好是一种决定。

Ready is a decision.

那这到底意味着什么？

So what does that actually mean?

对我来说，准备好更多是情感层面的事，而准备好了则是那些需要逐一核对的A、B、C，或者一二三，只有做完这些，你才能在情感上感到安心去行动。

To me, ready is more on the emotional side of things, and prepared is the a's and b's and c's or the ones and twos and threes that you need to check off lists, so that you can feel emotionally settled to do the thing.

我对这一点有疑问，因为‘准备好’这个词真的很特别。

The problem that I have with that, and ready is such a funny word.

对吧？

Right?

我们经常听到这句话。

We hear it all the time.

嗯哼。

Mhmm.

歌手在演唱会上会这么说。

Singers say it at a concert.

你准备好了吗？

Are you ready?

那意味着什么？

What does it yes.

这就是我为什么在这里。

That's why I'm here.

我在这之前已经做好了唱歌的准备。

I prepared my singing before this.

对吧？

Right?

很有趣的是，我们经常听到这句话，但却从未真正思考过它究竟意味着什么。

It's funny we hear it all the time, but we don't really think about what it actually means.

但你也会听到这个陈词滥调。

But you'll hear this cliche too.

你永远准备不好。

You're never ready.

新手父母会这么说。

New parents will say this.

对吧？

Right?

无论你准备得多充分，你实际上永远都不会准备好。

You're never actually ready no matter how much you prepare.

当你的孩子到来时，你永远都不会有准备好的感觉。

You will never be ready for the time when your kids show up.

即使你已经准备得非常充分，可能还是感觉没有准备好。

And even when you are very well prepared, you may still not feel ready.

我是在昨天刚看的一段著名小提琴家的采访中了解到这一点的。

I learned that from a very famous violinist of one of her interview clips that I just watched yesterday.

她说，在每场演出开始前——无论是晚上7:30还是8点在音乐厅——上台之前，她都会进行一套固定的仪式，比如健康饮食、全天锻炼、练习和排练等等。

She said before each show, which starts at 07:30 or 8PM in the concert hall, before she goes on stage, she does her her ritual of things like eating healthily, workout throughout the day, and practicing, rehearsing, and everything.

有时候，这一切进行得特别顺利。

Sometimes that really goes so well.

就像每一个步骤都经历了黄金般的锤炼，最终，时间、表演、音乐，一切都完美地融合在一起。

It's like the the the golden trial of the each step and then eventually the time, your performance, the music, everything just just mix in one so perfectly.

但另一些时候，过程是一样的，你却始终达不到那种状态。

And then some other time, it's the same process, but you just don't get there.

你就是感觉不到这是自己最棒的表现，也不满意最终的结果。

You just don't feel like it's the best I've ever done and I'm happy with the outcome.

所以，是的，你会做好准备，但可能永远都不会真正感到准备好了。

So, yeah, you prepare, but you may never really feel ready.

她告诉大家，这其实是生活中一种很自然的过程，要学会接受并适应它。

And and it's really a natural process of life that she tells everybody to just get by and and get used to.

所以，你认为对于那些觉得自己已经准备好了，却仍然感觉还没准备好面对生活中某些重大决定的人，你会给出什么建议呢？

So do you think you should what what advice would you give for people who feel like they have prepared but they're just not ready for, I don't know, some kind of big decision in life or something?

你会说，忽略那种‘我没准备好’的感觉，直接上吧，放手去做，勇敢一跃，还是会给出别的建议？

Would you say ignore that feeling of I'm not ready and just go for it, just do it, take that leap, or would you give different advice?

如果谈个人建议的话，我会说，享受每一个当下，因为‘准备好’这种感觉总带着某种期待。

Well, if it comes to a personal advice, I'll say enjoy each moment because feeling ready has some sort of an expectation to it.

我希望达到某种表现水平，并以某种方式展现出来。

I want to achieve certain performance level and and I want to display it in a certain way.

这就是我所说的‘我准备好了’。

That's what I'll call I'm ready.

那是我想象中的期待，然后把它放在那里。

That's the expectation that I imagine and then put it up there.

但你投入的每一分钟、每一次练习、每一个准备行动，也同样重要。

But each and every minute and each and every practice you put in, the actions you put in that you prepare matters too.

有时候，这些过程的重要性甚至超过‘准备好’这个结果。

Sometimes it matters even more than the outcome of being ready.

这就是我给你的问题的建议和答案，接下来是我的一些最终想法。

So that will be my advice and answer to your question and here are my final thoughts.

我们从小到大一直被教导要做好准备。

We grow up being told to be ready.

为考试做好准备，为面试做好准备，为人生的下一个阶段做好准备。

Ready for exams, ready for interviews, ready for the next stage of life.

但我们究竟是要为什么做好准备呢？

But ready for what exactly?

那这个‘准备好了’是按照谁的标准定义的呢？

And according to whose definition?

难道它是招聘会上的一份核对清单吗？

Is is it a checklist at the job fair?

比如专业对口、技能匹配，甚至现在还要得对人工智能这类技术足够熟悉，满足林林总总的条件。

The right major, right skills increasingly, the right familiarity with AI and everything.

我真的够格了吗？

Am I good enough?

检查过了。

Check.

检查过了。

Check.

检查过了。

Check.

它是可衡量的、可比较的，并且不断变化的。

It's measurable, comparable and constantly shifting.

你做了准备，但目标一直在移动。

You prepare but the target keeps moving.

还是说，这是一个所有年龄段都得到良好照顾的健全社会？

Or is it a wholesome society where all age groups are taken good care of?

重点不再是个人去追赶系统，而是系统稍微放慢脚步，做出调整，为你留出空间。

It's no longer about the individual catching up to the to the system but the system slowing down a little bit, adjusting, making space for you.

因此，准备变成了一种设计出来的状态，而不是被强求的。

So readiness becomes something designed not demanded.

然后我们看到 readiness 的自然方式，比如季节的更替本身，因为无论多么充分的准备，都无法催促一株竹笋生长，也无法延长一片即将成为你餐桌上菜肴的嫩叶的生命。

And then we see the natural ways of readiness such as the rotation of seasons itself because no amount of preparation can ever rush a bamboo shoot or extend the life of a tender leaf that's going to end up on your dinner table perhaps.

在这里，ready 并不是被设计或评估出来的。

Here, readiness isn't really engineered or evaluated.

它其实很简单。

It's really simple.

它只是在自己的节奏下，短暂地到来。

It simply arrives briefly on its own terms.

所以，在这一切之后，也许 readiness 并不是一个我们达成后就能牢牢抓住的单一状态。

So after all that, maybe readiness isn't a single state we achieve and hold on to.

也许它更像是一种流动的东西，会根据你所处的位置而变化。

Maybe it's something more fluid, something that shifts depending on where you stand.

有时它要求你去伸展、去学习、去追赶；有时它要求世界停下脚步，来到你所在的地方；而有时，它什么也不要求。

Sometimes it takes you to stretch, to learn, to catch up, and sometimes it asks the world to meet you where you are and sometimes it has nothing at all.

只是当你注意到那个恰当时刻来临的时候，你看见了它，也许这就足以让你做好准备了。

Just that you notice the right moment when it comes and sees it and maybe that's enough to be ready.

Mhmm.

I like that.

Yeah.

I think it's self imposed a lot of the time.

Mhmm.

Right?

But I think and I don't know why.

Why do we do this?

Why do people say and I hear it.

也许我以前也这么说过，但我经常听到别人这么说。

Maybe I've used it too, but I hear people say it a lot.

我还没准备好。

I'm not ready.

我还没准备好呢。

I'm not ready yet.

我不是在说那种情况，比如电影二十五分钟后就开始了，但你连裤子都没穿。

And I'm not talking about like, oh, the movie starts in twenty five minutes, but you're not wearing pants.

显然，你还没准备好。

Well, obviously, you are not ready.

我不是在说那种情况。

I'm not talking about that.

我说的是更存在主义层面的事情，嗯。

I'm talking about something more existential or Mhmm.

但为什么我们会这样呢？

But why why do we do that?

是因为我们对自己缺乏信心吗？

Is it a lack of confidence that we feel in ourselves, do think?

是的。

Yeah.

我认为这是一种无意识的借口或理由，用来为可能在这件事、人生阶段、工作中的任务，或你希望完成的目标上失败做准备。

I think it's sort of an unconscious excuse or reason you give out in prepare preparedness of the possibility that you could fail in this thing, in this stage of life, in this task at your work or the things you wish you can accomplish.

所以当你问这个问题时，别去想你是否准备好了。

So that's why when you ask the question, just don't think about whether you are gonna be ready or not.

就去做吧。

Just do it.

我认为，在某个年龄之后，我的哲学就是：在认为自己需要准备之前，我已经通过无数小时的磨炼走过了。

And I think that would be my philosophy from a certain after a certain time of age is that I grinded myself through countless hours before thinking that I need to prepare.

我需要准备好。

I need to be ready.

When am I gonna be ready?

你打算周一主持节目吗？

You wanna host the show on Monday?

我还没准备好。

I'm not ready.

哎呀。

Aw.

是的。

Yeah.

就直接去做吧。

Just just do it.

你永远都不会准备好。

You're never gonna be ready.

别想太多。

Don't don't overthink it.

那就是我的‘是的’。

That's my yeah.

对。

Yeah.

如果要说的话，我其实是往相反的方向走。

I take it on if not an opposite direction, actually.

我以前有时候也是那样的。

I sometime, I used to be like that.

后来我意识到，你永远不可能完全满足所有的期望并做到最好，因为当你回头一看，总有一些事情是你希望当初能做得更好的。

And then I realized that you can never really meet all of your expectations and really perform the best because they're always when you look back, there's always something that you wish you have done better.

但那和‘准备好’有什么关系呢？

What's the connection to being ready there though?

我停止了不断逼迫自己去达到准备充分、随时 ready 的目标。

There is I stop keeping grinding myself to the goal of staying ready and being ready.

只要我觉得够了，那就够了。

I just if I if I feel that it's enough, then that that's enough.

如果我想躺下休息，旅行中遇到困难时我就躺下，只是静静地躺着，让一切顺其自然。

If I want to lay still, lay down, if I trip meet meet difficulties in a trip and I lay down, I just I just lay there and let it flow a little bit.

有时候，正是在这些时刻，灵感会突然出现，而不是拼命记住所有我认为需要准备的东西。

Sometimes inspiration comes at those moments instead of really memorizing everything that I think I need to be ready for.

嗯。

Mhmm.

而且这里还有一个陷阱。

And also there is a trap.

你知道吗？至少对我来说，我觉得是的。

You know, how many times well, for me at least, I think, yep.

我对自己准备好了百分之百有信心，结果却搞砸了。

I'm ready for this 1100% and then I screwed up.

然后我就想，唉，要是我能在那之前做到就好了。

And then I was like, oh, I wish I could do this before that.

唉，我真希望在那件事发生前就能想到这一点。

Oh, I wish I should have thought of that before this happened.

然后在下一次为其他事情做准备时，我会开始质疑自己：你以为自己已经准备好了。

And then for the next time when I'm preparing for something else, I start to questioning myself, well, you think you're 100% ready.

What if you're only 50% there?

I was just suddenly reminded, you know, talking about failure.

I've gone to a lot of auditions in my career, and I got some of them, and some of them I didn't get.

我从不真正把它看作失败，当然我感到失望，而且我总是想，我本可以做得不一样的是什么。

I never looked at it truly as failure, but of course I was disappointed, and I always thought what could I have done differently.

有一个例子，我知道自己当时本可以做得不一样。

And one example, I know exactly what I could have done differently.

我特别兴奋地去参加一个电视节目的试镜，于是出去买了新裤子和新衬衫去面试。

I was so excited for this TV show audition, and I went out and I bought new pants and a new shirt to go to the audition, the interview.

我对那次经历感觉很不错，试镜结束后，我正走向电梯时，助理制片人跟在我身后一点点，我们边走边聊，她突然说：‘你的腰围是32码啊。’我问：‘你怎么知道的？’

And I felt quite good about the experience, and as I was walking back to the elevator after it was over, the assistant producer was walking just slightly behind me, we were chatting and she said suddenly, oh your waist size is thirty two and I said, how did how did you know that?

她说：‘是你裤子背后的标签。’

And she said, the sticker on the back of your pants.

我当时想：‘天哪。’

I was like, oh my gosh.

那可不是只有一个标签，你知道吗，上面写着32、32、32、32。

And it wasn't just one sticker, you know, they say like thirty two thirty two thirty two thirty two.

我真想找个地缝钻进去。

I wanted to die.

我没得到那份工作，但后来还挺感激的，因为从那以后，我再也不想见到她了。

I didn't get that job, but I was kinda thankful because I never wanted to see her again after that moment.

哦，天哪。

Oh, goodness me.

我刚想起来。

I just remembered that.
