One destination or one type, one very specific microvacation microvacation I am planning for for years that I would definitely go someday is the Drama Town kind of microvacation.

What's a drama Town?

戏剧小镇是我们中国过去称为主题小镇的一种，整个小镇都是围绕某个特定主题设计的。

A drama Town is one of the what we used to call a specific or a kind of a theme town here in China that they design the entire town based on a certain theme.

这个主题可以是一个特定的产业。

The theme can be a certain industry.

主题也可以围绕某个历史景点展开。

The theme can be wrapped around or revealed around a certain historical destination.

而在这个情况下，它围绕的是戏剧体验。

And in this case, it is centered around the drama experience.

所以这里最热门的趋势之一，或者说最热门的地点，就是唯一提到的戏剧城。

So one of the hottest trends here is or one of the hottest spot is the only read mentioned drama city.

And this place is in Langfang.

It's also really close to Beijing.

It's visitors from Beijing can take a dedicated bus just to put on traditional Hanfu clothing and spend the weekend walking through the stage sets, eat from one to another and enjoy the show, and you can be part of the entire setting and an entire kinda like a little world.

The food, the souvenir, the performance, they're all in this one theme around this one theme.

So I find it quite interesting.

There's another area of Beijing.

I think it's on the Far Eastern Side near Universal Studios.

It's called Wan Liting Yun, if I'm saying that correctly.

And it's this open air shopping mall that's directly accessible by subway, so it's easy to get to.

It's about an hour away from downtown, give or take a bit, and you can kinda leave behind that downtown vibe to get out there.

And that is why we reached out to Rika Huang, an architectural and interior designer who was involved in the design of this micro vacation town.

And we invited her to share from a designer's perspective why they chose to create a micro vacation destination like this, and what kind of message does she hope to convey to consumers through the design of this place.

It's about integrating moments of discovery, relaxation, and inspiration into ordinary life, retaining the pursuit of beauty and a love for living into a regular practice.

You get that fun and excitement of the spontaneity, you get the luxury aspect of a full vacation, but you don't have to go very far away to do it, and there's a that means there's a lot less planning, a lot less booking involved, and you also and this is one of the other reasons that people are doing this, is that when you go on a full vacation, like a week long or ten days or whatever, oftentimes you feel tired when you come back.

Those who live next to Shenzhen or Hainan, they can enjoy the beach holiday, a two day beach holiday.

That sounds really cool.

And then among weekend leisure travelers, nearly 80% of families took two or more trips per month
