一群星星住在天空中的一个巢里。
A family of stars lived in a nest in the sky.
有一晚，小星星们该离开巢穴了。
One night, it was time for the little stars to leave the nest.
大姐姐星星站在边缘。
The big sister star stood on the edge.
她屏住了呼吸。
She held her breath.
她弯曲膝盖，然后跳了下去。
She bent her knees, and she jumped.
再见，妈妈。
Bye bye, mommy.
再见，爸爸。
Bye bye, daddy.
她飞向高空，加入了大熊座的明亮星辰。
Up she flew, and she joined the bright stars of the great bear.
中间的姐姐星星站在巢穴的边缘。
The middle sister star stood on the edge of the nest.
她闭上眼睛，跳了下去。
She closed her eyes, and she jumped.
再见，妈妈。
Bye bye, mommy.
再见，爸爸。
Bye bye, daddy.
她飞了上去，加入了猎户座的星辰。
Up she flew and joined the stars of the hunter.
小男星站在边缘。
The little boy star stood on the edge.
他的腿在发抖。
His legs were wobbling.
他跳了。
He jumped.
他挥动着双臂。
He flapped his arms.
他说道：‘再见，妈妈。’
Bye bye, mommy, he said.
他只上升了一点点。
He went up just a bit.
他说道：‘再见，爸爸。’
Bye bye, daddy, he said.
然后他往下落，越来越低，更低。
And then he went down and further down and even more down.
他往下，往下，不停地坠落。
Down, down, down, he fell.
直到，噗通一声，他落在了一个花坛里。
Until, blop, he landed in a flower bed.
可怜的小星星。
Poor little star.
他被卡在了土里。
He was stuck in the earth.
他的光芒不再闪耀。
His shine did not shine.
他感到很冷。
He felt cold.
他抬头望去，看见他的星星姐姐离得那么远。
He looked up and saw his star sister so so far away.
一只猫头鹰从上方飞过。
An owl flew up above.
他那双大眼睛没有看到那颗星星。
His big eyes did not see the star.
一只甲虫轻轻踩过泥土。
A beetle tiptoed across the soil.
它的脚趾挠到了星星，但它并没有察觉。
His feet tickled the star, but he did not realize.
早上，一只狗走进了花园。
In the morning, a dog came into the garden.
它嗅了嗅花朵，发现了一些有趣的东西。
He sniffed the flowers and found something interesting.
它舔干净后，用嘴叼了起来。
He licked it clean and picked it up in his mouth.
它把东西叼进屋里，进了厨房。
He carried it into the house and into the kitchen.
它把那块石头丢在拉菲的脚边。
He dropped the stone at Raffy's feet.
妈妈说：邦戈，这是什么脏东西？
Mom said, Bongo, what's this dirty thing?
拉菲盯着它看。
Raffy stared at it.
这是一颗星星。
It's a star.
这只不过是一块石头，妈妈说。
It's just a stone, said mom.
它应该放回花园里。
It belongs back in the garden.
不，拉菲说。
No, said Raffy.
它有魔力。
It's magic.
我想留下它。
I want to keep it.
好吧，妈妈叹了口气说。
Alright, said mum with a sigh.
我用水龙头洗一洗。
I'll wash it under the tap.
睡觉前，拉菲去寻找他的魔法星星。
At bedtime, Raffy went to look for his magic star.
它不见了。
It was gone.
哦，那个东西啊，妈妈说。
Oh, that thing, said mum.
我不知道它这么重要。
I didn't know it mattered.
我以为它只是一颗小石子。
I thought it was just a pebble.
但他是我的魔法星星，
But he's my magic star,
拉菲说。
said Raffy.
没有他我睡不着。
I can't go to sleep without him.
哦，对不起，妈妈说。
Oh, I'm sorry, said mom.
我把他放回花园里了。
I put him back in the garden.
现在该睡觉了。
It's bedtime now.
拉菲躺在床上。
Raffy lay in bed.
他并不开心。
He was not happy.
邦戈慢悠悠地走了进来。
Bongo padded in.
他嘴里叼着什么东西。
He had something in his mouth.
他把东西放在床边。
He dropped it beside the bed.
邦戈，你找到我的星星了。
Bongo, you found my star.
拉菲捡起了他的星星。
Raffy picked up his star.
他闭着眼睛，他说。
His eyes are closed, he said.
我要叫他 sleepy star（睡睡星）。
I'll call him Sleepy Star.
爸爸从门边探头进来。
Dad looked round the door.
晚安，拉菲。
Night night, Raffy.
他关掉了灯。
He turned off the light.
房间里一片漆黑。
It was dark.
拉菲轻声低语：闪烁，闪烁， sleepy star。
Raffi whispered, Twinkle, twinkle, sleepy star.
就在我的枕头旁，你就在那里。
Near my pillow, there you are.
轻轻地，缓缓地发光吧。
Glow a little, soft and slow.
该睡觉了。
Time for sleep.
我们走吧。
Off we go.
