Got a bit of a different one for you today, although this wouldn't be the first time I've sat on a log and had a chat with you.

But today, I wanted to give you a bit of a drawback of the curtains behind the scenes, whatever you wanna call it, into that's runnable, into what is happening, what is coming, and there's some announcements and all that good stuff.

Already waffled a little bit, but we're gonna go through today a bit of how I'm thinking about That's Runnable.

It shouldn't be too much of a long episode, but I wanna give you a good idea of where my thinking is and why I'm releasing what I'm releasing.

I wanna talk about the RUNNABLE Journal, the new app, and maybe, you know, we'll just keep it to that.

So That's Runnable.

You know, the interesting story about That's Runnable is I I I liked it as a brand name, but I didn't actually know what the structure of the business would be.

I think when I first launched it, when I left my nine to five, and I was like, let's let's make it that's runnable into something.

我一开始觉得它可能会有点媒体业务的模式。

I sort of thought it would have a bit of a media business business model.

I thought it would be mainly just creating media and, you know, there wouldn't be much else to it.

But very quickly, I realized that the best offering I could provide was my coaching offering of some capacity.

And so as much as That's Runnable is a media company, we're making content and we are trying to tell stories.

This podcast is part of that.

As part of that media side of the business, I have been adamant to have a bit of a medium to long term view that is to tell stories, to tell captivating, compelling, inspiring stories of ultra runners who are probably to be seen as regular people, but have highly inspiring and irregular stories.

As part of that, an extremely exciting release is coming, and that is that's Runnable's first documentary.

This is something that I have been working on with Max Morrison, my director producer, for a long time, over nine months properly in the making, over a year and a half in discussion.

It is about me, and it basically tries to tell the story my story, but also the story of what That's Runnable stands for.

It's an absolute monster of a documentary, really.

So a lot went into the filming, into the storytelling, into getting it all right, into the edit, you know, right down to the soundscape and the and the color grading.

There's so much to do on these things.

Super excited to be getting that out.

And there was a screening in London not long ago where I sat down many of my friends and family and some a few content creators as well who I respect in the space.

I I felt very, very grateful to have people who are really supporting what mission I'm on.

I've dedicated my full self to trying to create something in a space I love that stands for the things I think are important.

And this movie, this film, this documentary, I think, really successfully encapsulates everything I'm about and also the reasons why I'm about it.

So it tells my story a bit and to sort of ground the motivations for doing what I do, and I hope it can inspire as a standalone piece many people to get out there and go and run ultras and run the mountains and enjoy nature and reconnect with the real reasons why we do this stuff.

It is about love for the mountains and any other scenery that you find yourself in.

So we have released we have finished and will be releasing this documentary, and I'm so, so, so proud of what's got into it what's gone into it.

So that's a huge that's a huge release here at the here at That's Runnable, and it's the first of what will I hope, be many other little stories, potentially not as mega a mission and project as an invitation to run differently, which is the name of the of the documentary.

I should have mentioned An invitation to run differently.

It's probably not gonna these these future films are not gonna be as as big, but 10 films, short films, going into stories that have inspired me in the ultra space.

You know, so often, you're running along someone in in an ultra marathon, and they don't have any sort of presence.

You know, you can overcomplicate things.

And a podcast is a podcast, and a guest podcast is a guest podcast.

And if you try and change that too much and try and reinvent the wheel, it may not land.

But there's always risk with these things.

But I think through the lens of if we're thinking about storytelling and fundamentally how important I think storytelling is, I want to tell stories in audio format, in this format, or at least in formats that can work for you running and listening.

But I I want to think a little bit outside of the box on that front.

And there's not heaps I can say in terms of where my head is at with that, but I want it to become more more of an audio experience, something high production and something you turn to to find these stories that is a great listening experience when you're out on the trails or even running through the streets wherever you are.

I know that many of you listen to this as you run, and I want that experience to be top notch.

But that also doesn't that shouldn't take me away from this kind of vibe.

I I think this kind of vibe is beneficial, and it's also helpful for me.

You know, I have been traveling a lot.

I love to travel.

And for this very period I'm in, Lou and I wanna travel more.

We wanna make sure that we're operating whatever businesses we're running, whatever is bringing in money.

We want that to be flexible with us, and that's a key priority for me.

And for something so creative as the sort of chief creator in that's RUNNABLE.

I need to be able to do stuff like this, to think, you know what?

I wanna address my audience in this way, and I wanna be able to pick up a mic and just do it outside like this.

I think there's something endearing about that in the creative process.

I think there's something nice about really letting you in, about having it not feel like you're distanced from me.

I think a lot of the production will either invite or discourage that.

And I think this sort of format invites that.

And so I I want there to be a full spectrum of audio experience.

You know?

And at this point, you know, I have I have edited 95% or 90% of the podcast episodes.

I think I have not edited maybe five or six of them.

And I've been going through a bit of a delegation process in the business.

I've been trying to hand off things that I can't I don't have time for.

You know, I think part of scaling a business, part of growing a business is having the ability to delegate what is taking a lot of your time that can be done better by someone else.

I've had Stefan on board helping with operations and posting.

A lot of the sort of posting process has been run by him and the actual posting of the podcast itself using pillar content to then trickle down.

So once I've written the newsletter, using that new newsletter to inspire posts on social media, using clips from the podcast for posts on social media, all of that is run by Stefan, and he's been an invaluable piece of the puzzle at That's Runnable.

Now I have had an editor for some of the podcasts, and here's where I might need your help.

Sometimes there's background noise that just needs cleaning up.

I think in this instance, for example, I won't do anything to the audio, and that's a judgment call that needs to be made.

And so that's a judgment call I'm making creatively.
