欢迎来到《美好人生》播客,这里是专为创业者打造的节目,聚焦于个人成长与企业发展。

Welcome to It's a Good Life, the podcast for entrepreneurs, where it's all about growing yourself and your business.

Speaker 0

我是本期节目的主持人,美国最大商业教练公司创始人布莱恩·布菲尼。

Here's your host, founder of America's largest business coaching company, Brian Buffini.

Speaker 1

早上好,欢迎收听本期节目,主题是“与伍登共度的十周”。

Top of the morning to you, and welcome to today's episode entitled ten weeks with Wooden.

Speaker 1

你能想象吗?你花了十周时间跟迈克尔·乔丹在一起,却根本不知道他是谁?

Can you imagine spending ten weeks with Michael Jordan and you didn't know who Michael Jordan was?

Speaker 1

或者花十周时间跟杰克·尼克劳斯在一起,或者花十周时间跟沃伦·巴菲特在一起。

Or ten weeks with Jack Nicklaus, or ten weeks with Warren Buffett.

Speaker 1

想象一下,有个人是某个领域的绝对顶尖高手,然后来了一个人,花了十周时间和这位高手相处,却只把他当作一个普通人来了解。

Imagine someone who's the absolute best in their field, and here comes a guy who spends ten weeks with this person and only really knows him as a person.

Speaker 1

1997年我就经历了这样的事,今天我想跟大家分享这段经历,以及我从传奇教练约翰·伍登身上学到的教训。

Well, that happened to me in 1997, and that's the story I'm gonna share with you today and the lessons I learned from the great coach John Wooden.

Speaker 1

大家得先明白这一点。

Now you have to understand.

Speaker 1

我在爱尔兰长大,那会儿互联网还没出现,有线电视没有,卫星电视更是想都别想。

Growing up in Ireland, this is long before the Internet, before cable, long before satellite.

Speaker 1

我们只有四个电视频道,跟你说说,这四个频道上播的体育项目主要是英超足球、盖尔式足球、曲棍球,还有爱尔兰橄榄球。

So we had four channels, and I can tell you on our four channels, the sports that were played were English Premier League Soccer, Gaelic football, hurling, and then, Irish rugby.

Speaker 1

偶尔穿插点赛马,基本上就这些内容了。

A bit of horse racing here and there, and that's basically what we got to see.

Speaker 1

后来我来到美国,1986年一到就开始全力投入工作,虽然经历了一些挫折,但最终还是把事业推上了正轨。

When I came to America, hit the ground running 1986, overcame some setbacks, got my career going.

Speaker 1

在房地产领域打拼了十年,事业也算小有成就之后,有人邀请我开始做演讲和分享。也就是在那时,我们创办了最初叫作Providence Seminars的机构,后来改名为Buffini and Company。

After ten years of a pretty successful real estate career, I was asked to start speaking and sharing, and and that's ultimately when we started what was initially called Providence Seminars became Buffini and Company.

Speaker 1

1997年发生了一件了不起的事。美国最大的抵押贷款公司之一的CEO,一位名叫Charlie Reinhart的人,参加了一个半天的研讨会。

In 1997, a remarkable thing happened, which was the CEO of one of the largest mortgage companies in America, a guy by the name of Charlie Reinhart, sat through a half day workshop.

Speaker 1

这些是我在美国各地举办的免费研讨会,每年大概有120场。

These were free workshops I did all over America, about a 120 of them a year.

Speaker 1

我在会上分享我们的工作环境、理念、哲学,以及如何照顾员工、超越他们的期望。这是一场面向房产经纪人的免费讲座。

And I was out there sharing our work environment for our concepts, philosophy, the way of taking care of people, exceeding their expectations, and it was a free seminar for realtors.

Speaker 1

嗯,查理·莱因哈特是Home Savings America公司的首席执行官。

Well, Charlie Reinhart was the CEO of a company called Home Savings America.

Speaker 1

那时候,他们是全国最大的抵押贷款机构。

They were the largest mortgage lender in the country at that time.

Speaker 1

研讨会结束后,他走到我面前,递给我一张名片,说,我觉得你能帮到我们。

And he walked up to me at the end of the seminar and just handed me a business card and said, I think you can help us.

Speaker 1

给我打个电话吧。

Give me a follow-up phone call.

Speaker 1

于是我打了,当时我并不知道他是谁,也不清楚Home Savings的规模有多大。

So I did, and unbeknownst to me, I didn't realize who he was and really the size of Home at the time.

Speaker 1

但基本上,我们后来合作了,Home Savings成了我们的赞助商,合作了好几年。

But basically, we ended up doing a joint venture together, and Home Savings became our sponsor for a number of years.

Speaker 1

那是个很棒的组织,里面都是些很不错的人。

A fantastic organization, some great people.

Speaker 1

他们赞助我在全国各地做研讨会,这真的扩大了我们的业务,吸引了成千上万的人来参加研讨会。

And they sponsored me doing seminars all over the country, and it really expanded our business and brought thousands and thousands of people to the seminars.

Speaker 1

所以这是个双赢的局面。

So it was a win win.

Speaker 1

而且我们也帮了Home Savings。

And we also helped Home Savings.

Speaker 1

我们把我们的系统带到了他们的公司,帮他们真正改变了生产方式。

We brought our systems to their company and helped them really change their production.

Speaker 1

实际上,他们的产量翻了三倍多,用的是我们的推荐系统,所以这对大公司也管用。

In fact, they more than tripled their production using our referral systems, so it works for big companies too.

Speaker 1

嗯,一路走来,就像美国企业界常见的那样,Home Savings收购了一家叫Coast Savings的公司。

Well, along the way, as corporate America goes, Home Savings acquired a company called Coast Savings.

Speaker 1

Coast Savings当时正准备开始为期十周的巡回,覆盖他们所有分支机构和全体员工。

Coast Savings was in the midst of beginning a ten week tour of all their branches and all their staff.

Speaker 1

然后他们说,嘿。

And they said, hey.

Speaker 1

你知道,如果我们想把Home Savings和Coast Savings融合成一种新文化,那就把它们合并起来吧。

You know, if we're trying to create this new culture with Home Savings and Coast Savings, let's merge them together.

Speaker 1

所以我是在为家庭储蓄做演讲。

So I was speaking for home savings.

Speaker 1

另一位先生是在为海岸储蓄做演讲。

This other gentleman was speaking for coast.

Speaker 1

第一天我飞过去,你知道,我一直在路上。

First day I fly in, you know, and I'm on the road all the time.

Speaker 1

所以我到了。

So I I get in.

Speaker 1

我上午做了两场演讲。

I do two sessions in the morning.

Speaker 1

我和家庭储蓄的几个人一起吃了午饭。

I have lunch with a couple of people from home savings.

Speaker 1

其中一个人,特别是,她叫塔米·里维拉,是个很棒的人,是那里的市场部成员,她把我介绍给了这位先生。

One person, particularly, her name was Tammy Rivera, fantastic person, from the marketing team there, and she introduces me to this gentleman.

Speaker 1

她说,这是伍登教练。

And she says, this is Coach Wooden.

Speaker 1

我说,哦,很高兴认识你。

I go, oh, nice to meet you.

Speaker 1

他听出一点爱尔兰口音。

He hears a bit of an Irish accent.

Speaker 1

他开始聊起爱尔兰。

He starts out talking all about Ireland.

Speaker 1

他有点爱尔兰血统,然后我们聊得很开心。

He had some Irish in his background, and we started having a great chat.

Speaker 1

我当时真不知道他是谁,所以我本来打算第一场会议在南加州结束后就回家的。

And I really had no idea who he was, so I was supposed to the first session was actually in Southern California, I was gonna go home.

Speaker 1

这位先生身上有种东西吸引了我,所以我决定留下来听听他要说什么。

There was something about this gentleman that just kind of struck me, so I'm going to stay around and hear what he has to say.

Speaker 1

我是个注重个人成长的人。

I'm a personal growth guy.

Speaker 1

于是我坐下来,他当时是位年长的先生,走进来,坐在椅子上,只有一张幻灯片,就是那个他称之为“成功金字塔”的图表。

So I sat down, and he was an older gentleman at the time, came in, sat down in a chair, had one slide, and it was this pyramid he called it Pyramid of Success.

Speaker 1

他讲了成功金字塔里的一个方面或者一个板块,中间还穿插了他背下来的一些诗歌。

He talked about one aspect or one block on this pyramid of success and then interspersed it with a series of poems that he had memorized.

Speaker 1

挺有意思的。

It was kind of fascinating.

Speaker 1

我记了不少笔记,后来我有好多问题想问他,他也问了我不少问题。

I took some great notes, and afterwards I had a lot of questions for him, he had a lot more questions for me.

Speaker 1

所以下周我们又老样子来了一遍。

So next week, we do the same thing again.

Speaker 1

我去过其他几个地方。

I had traveled to other locations.

Speaker 1

我上台做完分享走下来,这时候约翰·伍登教练——虽然我还不知道他是谁——拿出一本笔记本。

I come in, I do my session, I come off the stage, and now Coach Wooden, still I don't know who he is, opens up a journal.

Speaker 1

那本子挺精致的,里面记满了问题,都是关于我早上讲的内容。

And he has a really nice journal, and he has pages of questions for me about what I talked about that morning.

Speaker 1

他让我讲讲那个推荐系统是怎么回事。

Tell me about this referral system.

Speaker 1

跟我讲讲目标设定吧。

Tell me about goal setting.

Speaker 1

跟我讲讲这个吧。

Tell me about this.

Speaker 1

跟我讲讲那个吧。

Tell me about that.

Speaker 1

他那么好奇,让我有点意外,他非常投入。

I was taken aback by how curious he was, very engaging.

Speaker 1

所以我就说,好吧,我也有问题想问你。

So I said, well, I have questions for you.

Speaker 1

他说,好吧,我演讲结束后会留下来,然后我们聊聊。

He says, well, I'll I'll stay around after my talk and and do it.

Speaker 1

那时候我一直在路上,总是讲同样的内容。

Now I was on the road giving the same talk all the time.

Speaker 1

我在10个不同的城市讲了同样的演讲。

I gave the same talk in 10 different cities.

Speaker 1

我注意到伍登教练的是,他上台后会讲成功金字塔的不同部分,还会用他背下来的不同诗歌。

What I noticed about Coach Wooden is he got on stage, he would talk about a different part of the Pyramid of Success, and he would use different poetry that he had memorized.

Speaker 1

我就觉得,那真的很让人印象深刻。

And I'm like, it was really impressive.

Speaker 1

嗯,四个星期下来,我发现自己正在用很棒的笔记和很棒的信息填满我的笔记本,而且我对整个过程都很着迷。

Well, four weeks into this, I can realize, like, I am filling up my journal with great notes and great information, and I'm fascinated by this whole process.

Speaker 1

所以我就去了图书馆,如果你不到30岁,你可以谷歌一下图书馆是什么。

So I go to a library, and if you're under 30 years of age, you can Google library and see what that is.

Speaker 1

然后我去了图书馆,果然,我查到了伍登教练是谁。

And I went to the library, and sure enough, I find out who Coach Wooden is.

Speaker 1

要说我有多惊讶,就好比你发现自己和迈克尔·乔丹、杰克·尼克劳斯或沃伦·巴菲特待了好几周,因为大学篮球当时还没传到爱尔兰。

And to say I was taken aback would be like finding out you were spending weeks with Michael Jordan or Jack Nicklaus or Warren Buffett because college basketball hadn't made it to Ireland.

Speaker 1

我们当时没有,我们从来没转播过大学篮球。

We were not we never televised college basketball.

Speaker 1

我们没叫,我们连职业比赛都没转播。

We didn't call we didn't even televise the pros.

Speaker 1

波士顿凯尔特人队是我们当时唯一知道的球队。

The Boston Celtics were the only team we really were aware of.

Speaker 1

约翰·伍登,事实证明,是传奇中的传奇。

John Wooden, as it turns out, is a legend of all legends.

Speaker 1

他在十二年的时间里赢得了十次NCAA全国冠军。

He's won 10 NCAA national championships in a twelve year period of time.

Speaker 1

有些纪录是为了被打破而创造的,而有些纪录则永远无法被打破。

There are some records that are made to be broken, and there are some records that will never be broken.

Speaker 1

只要我还活着,你也还在世,就没人能在男子大学篮球的十二年内拿到十次全国冠军。

As long as I'm alive and you're alive, no one ever will ever win 10 national championships in a twelve year period of time in men's college basketball.

Speaker 1

他们可是连续拿了七次。

They won seven in a row.

Speaker 1

这简直太惊人了。

It was just staggering.

Speaker 1

在运动史上,从来没有人拿过超过四次。

In the history of the sport, no one's ever done more than four.

Speaker 1

所以他彻底改变了这项运动。

So he just revolutionized the game.

Speaker 1

非同寻常的成功。

Uncommon success.

Speaker 1

他七次当选年度最佳教练。

He was seven times the coach of the year.

Speaker 1

他执教过卡里姆·阿卜杜勒-贾巴尔、比尔·沃顿等很多人。

He coached people like Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Bill Walton and all these people.

Speaker 1

所以我在第四周才来到这个活动,伍登教练也在场,他给我列了一堆问题。

So I kinda come in the the fourth week to the event, and coach Wooden's there, and he has a list of questions for me.

Speaker 1

我满脸通红地走过去说,伍登教练,非常抱歉。

And I kind of red faced go, Coach Wooden, I am so sorry.

Speaker 1

我之前完全不知道你是谁。

I had no idea who you were.

Speaker 1

我知道你从事过一些体育运动,但没意识到你是这么了不起的人物。

I figured out you'd done some sports, but I didn't realize who you were.

Speaker 1

我其实一直不太关注大学篮球。

I really didn't follow college basketball.

Speaker 1

他当时一边笑着,但另一边又好像有点失望,因为现在他知道我终于认出他是谁了。

And on one hand, he kind of smiled, but on the other hand, he seemed a little disappointed that now I knew who he was.

Speaker 1

不过爱尔兰人有个好处,你知道的,很多名人住在爱尔兰,因为我们对待名人和普通人没什么两样。

But the good thing about being Irish is, you know, a lot of famous people live in Ireland because we don't treat famous people or unfamous people any different.

Speaker 1

大家挨骂的时候待遇都一样,你懂的?

Everybody gets hammered the same way, you know?

Speaker 1

所以我们度过了一段非常愉快的时光。

And so we had a great time.

Speaker 1

我意识到自己正与一位伟大的人物在一起,我决定用余下的时间去深入了解这位伟人。

And what I realized is I was in the presence of greatness, and I was going to take the rest of my time to study this great man.

Speaker 1

那真是一段难忘的经历。

And what an experience it was.

Speaker 1

今天我就跟大家分享其中的一些内容。

And I'm going to share with you some of those things here today.

Speaker 1

你们知道,我身后摆着一个奖杯,是那个‘站在巨人肩膀上’的奖项。

You know, I have a a trophy sitting behind me here standing on the shoulders of Giants award.

Speaker 1

我有幸能坐在巨人的脚下,近距离学习。

What I got a chance to do is sit at the feet of a giant.

Speaker 1

多么睿智的人啊。

What a brilliant man.

Speaker 1

又是如此谦逊,简直是个充满力量的非凡人物。

What a humble man and just powerful, powerful individual.

Speaker 1

他分享了一些名言,这些话一直伴随着我,贯穿了我的整个人生。

And he just shared some quotes that have just kind of stayed with me my whole life.

Speaker 1

谈到他的谦逊时,他说:天赋是上天赐予的。

One, talking about his humility, he says, talent is God given.

Speaker 1

要谦虚。

Be humble.

Speaker 1

名声则是世人所赋予的。

Fame is man given.

Speaker 1

要心怀感恩。

Be grateful.

Speaker 1

但自负是自我给予的。

But conceit is self given.

Speaker 1

要小心谨慎。

Be careful.

Speaker 1

这个成功金字塔,从基础开始。

This Pyramid of Success, it starts with a foundation.

Speaker 1

底部有五个盒子,分别是勤奋、友谊、忠诚、合作和热情。

There's five boxes on the bottom, and it's industriousness, friendship, loyalty, cooperation, enthusiasm.

Speaker 1

然后金字塔的下一层是自制力、警觉性、主动性和专注力。

And then the next block in the pyramid is self control, alertness, initiative, intentness.

Speaker 1

然后他谈到状态、技能、团队精神、镇定、自信,以及竞争中的卓越。

And then he talks about condition, skill, and team spirit, poise, confidence, and then competitive greatness.

Speaker 1

然后它通过这些原则连接起来:抱负、适应力、拼搏、信念、耐心、正直、可靠、诚实和真诚。

And then it's linked around with these principles of ambition, adaptability, resourcefulness, fight, faith, patience, integrity, reliability, honesty, and sincerity.

Speaker 1

这些就是他谈到的内容。

And these are the things he talked about.

Speaker 1

这些就是他教给18到22岁的年轻男孩们的东西,并且赢得了所有这些全国冠军。

These are the things he taught 18 to 22 year old boys and young men and won all these national championships.

Speaker 1

而且每个人,你知道的,总想模仿成功,但很少有人愿意付出代价。

And everybody, you know, always wants to mimic success, but rarely do they want to pay the price.

Speaker 1

我遇到过很多人,哦,布莱恩,我想建立像你这样的企业。

I've had so many people, oh, Brian, I want to build a business like yours.

Speaker 1

我想站在舞台上。

I want to be on stage.

Speaker 1

我想做这件事。

I want to do this.

Speaker 1

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 1

行。

Fine.

Speaker 1

这就是它的样子。

Here's what it looks like.

Speaker 1

你知道吗?

You know?

Speaker 1

这就是路上的十年。

Here's the ten years on the road.

Speaker 1

这就是为了仍然做一个丈夫和父亲所付出的代价。

Here's what it took to still be a husband and father.

Speaker 1

这就是我在路上奔波时,为了经营事业、同时做一个丈夫和父亲所付出的代价。

Here's what it took to build a business while I was on the road, being a husband and father.

Speaker 1

这就是它的样子。

Here's what it looks like.

Speaker 1

米开朗基罗说过,如果人们知道我日常生活的样子,他们就不会觉得我的天才有什么了不起。而约翰·伍登就是这方面的一个绝佳例子。

Michelangelo said if people knew what my daily life looked like, they would not consider my genius so wonderful at all, And John Wooden was a great example of that.

Speaker 1

所以今天我想谈谈其中几个原则。

So I wanna talk to a few of these principles today.

Speaker 1

我大概就随便过一遍这些东西。

I'm just kinda gonna go and whip through this stuff.

Speaker 1

所以他谈到了勤奋是金字塔的基础基石之一。

So he talked about industriousness as one of the foundational cornerstones of the pyramid.

Speaker 1

用简单的话说,就是努力工作,非常努力工作。

In plain simple English, it means hard work, very hard work.

Speaker 1

而这就是他开始的起点。

And this is where he starts.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

这就是他开始的起点。

This is where he starts.

Speaker 1

在成功这件事上,没有什么能替代努力工作。

No substitute for hard work when it comes to success.

Speaker 1

我从未见过、听过或读过任何一个人,能不经极度努力就取得真正的成功。

I have not known, heard of, or read about any individual anywhere who achieved real success without working extremely hard.

Speaker 1

所以,这就是他开始的起点。

So that is where he starts.

Speaker 1

我就这么说吧。

I will just say this.

Speaker 1

你知道,我做过关于这个的播客,我不想当那个爱抱怨的老头。

You know, I've done podcasts on this, and I don't want to be the grumpy grandpa.

Speaker 1

但我可以这么说,我要挑战年轻人:如果你承诺努力工作,你就会比现在更稀有。

But I can say this, and I will challenge younger people: if you make a commitment to work hard, you will be rarer today than before.

Speaker 1

你就有机会比之前更成功。

You have a chance to be more successful than before.

Speaker 1

这简直是一切。

It's just everything.

Speaker 1

所以他谈到了这一点,而他一开始讲的就是勤奋。

And so he talked about it, and that's what he started with, industriousness.

Speaker 1

然后他谈到了友谊,他说友谊中最重要的两个品质是尊重和 camaraderie。

Then he talked about friendships, and he said the two qualities of friendship that are so important are respect and camaraderie.

Speaker 1

现在,再说说领导和团队。

Now, again, you talk about leading and teams.

Speaker 1

对我来说,这些是最重要的特质,真正的友谊在领导力中的体现。

To me, these are the most noteworthy characteristics, true friendship as it pertains to leadership.

Speaker 1

想想当有人尊重你、和你并肩作战时,你会付出多少。

Think how much you'll give when asked to do by someone you respect and with whom you share camaraderie.

Speaker 1

你会付出很多。

You'll give plenty.

Speaker 1

你会倾尽全力。

You'll give all you got.

Speaker 1

伍登所说的,我在加州大学洛杉矶分校男篮队员身上寻找并珍视的,正是这两种特质。

What Wooden said, I sought and valued these two particular qualities of friendship in my relationships with individuals on the UCLA men's basketball team.

Speaker 1

我并不是为了寻求他们的喜爱,或者想成为他们的哥们儿。

I didn't seek their affection or wish to become their buddies.

Speaker 1

最终,相互尊重和战友情谊让我们的团队变得更强大。

Mutual respect and camaraderie were ultimately what strengthened our team.

Speaker 1

第三块是忠诚。

The third block was loyalty.

Speaker 1

他还谈到忠诚是我们本性的一部分,也是实现更高目标的领导者本性的一部分。

And he talked about loyalty as a part of our higher nature, and it's also part of the nature of leaders who achieve higher goals.

Speaker 1

忠诚的力量是我把它放在金字塔中心的原因。

The power of loyalty is the reason I placed it at the center of the Pyramid's foundation.

Speaker 1

拥有忠诚的领导者,是我希望加入其团队的那种领导者。

A leader who has loyalty is the leader whose team I wish to be a part of.

Speaker 1

这几乎在所有地方都是如此。

This is true almost everywhere.

Speaker 1

大多数人,也就是绝大多数人,都希望加入一个提供公平、尊重、尊严和关怀的组织或团队。

Most people, the overwhelming majority of us, wish to be in an organization or part of a team whose leadership provides fairness and respect, dignity, and consideration.

Speaker 1

忠诚从上层传递到下层。

Loyalty from the top inspires loyalty from below.

Speaker 1

它是最珍贵、最强大的力量,而且它始于领导者。

It is the most precious and powerful commodity, and it starts with the leader.

Speaker 1

伍登还写了一本关于领导力的精彩著作。

And Wooden's written a fabulous book on leadership.

Speaker 1

如果你身处领导岗位,一定要去了解一下他如何长期、稳定且高水平地带领年轻人。

If you're in leadership, you should definitely check out the ability to lead young men and to do it so consistently at such a high level for so long.

Speaker 1

真是非凡的成就。

Extraordinary stuff.

Speaker 1

如今人们还在谈论这些,挺有意思的。

And these people talk about it today, and it's interesting.

Speaker 1

你提到了卢阿尔·辛德,他后来改名为卡里姆·阿卜杜勒·贾巴尔,是个非常机敏且富有哲学思想的人。

You had Lu'al Cinder, who became Karim Abdul Jabbar, a very adroit and very philosophical individual.

Speaker 1

他对约翰·伍登非常敬仰。

He reveres John Wooden.

Speaker 1

同时呢,还有比尔·沃尔顿。

Then at the same time, you have Bill Walton.

Speaker 1

比尔·沃尔顿可是圣迭戈的英雄,一个完全自由奔放、喜欢感恩而死乐队的嬉皮士。

Now Bill Walton, San Diego hero, complete free spirited, Grateful Dead hippie.

Speaker 1

而且这两个人和约翰·伍登共处过。

And these two guys coexisted with John Wooden.

Speaker 1

这两个人在他的领导下茁壮成长。

These guys thrived under his leadership.

Speaker 1

他们是截然不同的人,对生活有着截然不同的看法,但这两位绅士都谈到约翰·伍登是他们生活中最大的影响之一。

Radically different human beings with radically different perspectives on life, and both of these gentlemen talk about John Wooden being one of the most single largest influences on their lives.

Speaker 1

他们后来在职业生涯中取得了巨大成就,然后在生活中也取得了巨大成就。

And they went on to do great things in the pros and then great things in their life.

Speaker 1

所以这很有趣。

And so it's interesting.

Speaker 1

这很有趣。

It's interesting.

Speaker 1

所以,是的,他应该写一本关于领导力的书,我们也应该读一读。

And so, yes, he should write a book on leadership, and we should read it.

Speaker 1

另一个基石是合作。

Another cornerstone piece was cooperation.

Speaker 1

伟大的领导力原则。

Great leadership principles.

Speaker 1

分享想法、信息、责任和任务,是领导力和优秀团队的重要优先事项。

Sharing ideas, information, responsibilities, creativity, and tasks is a good priority of leadership and great teams.

Speaker 1

然后他说,一个自信坚强的领导者,在别人值得表扬时给予表扬,在需要承担责任时承担责任。

Then he says, a strong, self confident leader gives credit to others when deserved and takes blame.

Speaker 1

软弱的领导者抢功诿过。

A weak leader takes credit and gives blame.

Speaker 1

你不是唯一有好主意的人。

You're not the only person with good ideas.

Speaker 1

别人也有头脑。

Others have brains too.

Speaker 1

为了达到组织的全部潜力,必须要有合作。

In order to reach your organization's full potential, there must be cooperation.

Speaker 1

我们刚刚在我们的巅峰体验活动中经历了这一点,那是我们的二十周年纪念,团队向我提出了一个举办盛大晚会的建议,这是我们从未做过的事情。

We just had this at our Peak Experience event where it was our twentieth anniversary, and the team came to me with a proposal for doing a gala, black tie affair, very different type of thing than we've ever done.

Speaker 1

我说,你们放手去做吧,需要我帮忙就叫我,但主要还是你们自己来。

I said, you guys go for it and include me as needed, but you guys go for it.

Speaker 1

我给了他们全权委托。

I gave them carte blanche.

Speaker 1

他们完全没把我算进去。

They didn't include me at all.

Speaker 1

那是我们公司历史上办得最棒的活动之一。

It was one of the best things we've ever put on in the history of our company.

Speaker 1

我们玩得很尽兴,来了差不多一千人,活动很棒,大家相处融洽,乐队给力,音乐也超赞。

We had a spectacular time with almost a thousand people, a great event, great food, great camaraderie, great band, great music.

Speaker 1

那真是一次超棒的体验。

It was just an awesome experience.

Speaker 1

还有冰雕,他们搞了个红毯接待,看起来就像奥斯卡颁奖礼。

The ice sculptures, they did a red carpet reception, looked like the Oscars.

Speaker 1

我的意思是,那真是太精彩了。

I mean, it was brilliant.

Speaker 1

这就是核心理念。

And that's the principle.

Speaker 1

集思广益,肯定比单打独斗强得多。

None of us is as smart as all of us.

Speaker 1

只要你给足大家发挥的空间,营造出这种协作的氛围,就能成就一番大事业。

If you give people that kind of opportunity and you you create that kind of cooperation, great things can happen.

Speaker 1

在他的成功金字塔理论中,最后一块基石是热情。

The last cornerstone piece in his Pyramid of Success was enthusiasm.

Speaker 1

他一开始强调勤奋,最后又落脚在热情上,把这两点作为基石。

He starts off with industriousness and then finishes up with enthusiasm as the two cornerstones.

Speaker 1

他觉得热情能让人个人更有力量,而当大家团结一心时,这种力量会更强。

He just believes enthusiasm provides strength individually, but more strength when combined as one with the team.

Speaker 1

他把勤奋解释为非常努力的工作,但光靠努力还不够。

He described industrious as very hard work, but hard work is not enough.

Speaker 1

成功还需要别的东西,那就是你的热情,它能给努力注入一种灵感般的动力,这也是所有优秀竞争者都具备的特质。

It requires something else to be successful, and that something is your enthusiasm, which is infuses hard work with inspired power that all great competitors have.

Speaker 1

你的心必须放在工作上。

Your heart has to be in your work.

Speaker 1

你的精力和热情会激励你共事的人。

Your energy and enthusiasm stimulate those people you're working with.

Speaker 1

勤奋、忠诚、友谊、合作和热情,这就是基础。

Industriousness, friendship, loyalty, cooperation, and enthusiasm, that's the foundation.

Speaker 1

所以想象一下,比如埃及金字塔。

So imagine, like, the Pyramids Of Egypt.

Speaker 1

这就是五块基石。

These are the five blocks.

Speaker 1

然后他讲到下一块,我觉得很有意思。

So then he gets into the next one, which I found interesting.

Speaker 1

就在勤奋和友谊之上,他讲到了自制力。

Right above industriousness and friendship, he covers self control.

Speaker 1

他说到达顶峰和保持顶峰,这是两回事,各自都有独特而艰巨的挑战。

So he says getting to the top and staying there, which are different tasks, present unique and formidable challenges.

Speaker 1

然后这里有个关键点。

And then here's a key thing.

Speaker 1

赢得冠军是一回事。

It's one thing to get up and win a championship.

Speaker 1

但很难一次又一次地做到,而他是连续七年做到。

It's very hard to go back and do it again and again and again, and in his case, seven years in a row.

Speaker 1

这就是自律成为关键要素的地方。

This is where self control becomes a key component.

Speaker 1

在成功金字塔中,这一特质强调了控制自己的重要性:避免诱惑,避免情绪波动,避免努力程度忽高忽低。

This characteristic within the Pyramid of Success addresses the importance of controlling yourself in all areas: avoiding temptations, avoiding emotionalism, avoiding peaks and valleys of effort.

Speaker 1

我在加州大学洛杉矶分校打球时,把自律视为个人和球队在球场上的第六个棕熊特质。

I viewed self control, both personal and by our team as the sixth Bruin on the court during my years at UCLA.

Speaker 1

我的意思是,这真的很了不起。

I mean, remarkable stuff.

Speaker 1

我想提醒我手下的人,管好自己,这样别人就不用替你做这件事了。

I like to remind those under my supervision, control yourself so others won't have to do it for you.

Speaker 1

太棒了。

Brilliant stuff.

Speaker 1

自我控制。

Self control.

Speaker 1

现在谁还提这个?

Who's talking about that anymore?

Speaker 1

金字塔的下一层是警觉性。

The next block in the pyramid was alertness.

Speaker 1

他最喜欢的美国英雄是亚伯拉罕·林肯,他非常崇拜林肯。

His favorite American hero was Abe Lincoln, and he loved Abe Lincoln.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Okay?

Speaker 1

他自己就是中西部人,他说林肯有警觉性。

Now he was a Midwestern guy himself, and he said Abe had alertness.

Speaker 1

他说,林肯先生曾说过,他从未遇到过一个人,从对方身上学不到东西,尽管大多数时候,学到的都是不该做的事。

He goes, mister Lincoln once said he never met a person from whom he did not learn something, although most of the time, it was something not to do.

Speaker 1

我们周围时刻都在发生各种活动,只要保持警觉,就能从中获取知识。

There's activity going on all around us at all times from which we can acquire knowledge if we're alert.

Speaker 1

但我们常常陷入管中窥豹的局限,看不到完整的全貌,从而错过了那些本可以学到的东西。

Too often we get tunnel vision and don't see the big full picture, which precludes learning things that are available.

Speaker 1

篮球比赛其实更多是比脑子,而不是光在场地的线条上跑动。

Basketball is just played as much between the ears as between the lines on the court.

Speaker 1

所以他坚信,警觉性能让人保持清醒,拓宽视野,还能提升技能。

And so he really believed that alertness kept you awake and, increased your perspective and increased your skills.

Speaker 1

所以这有点像那种好奇心。

So it's kinda like that curiosity.

Speaker 1

对他来说,警觉性指的是一种主动的好奇心。

It's kind of an active curiosity was what alertness meant to him.

Speaker 1

下一个基石是主动性。

The next cornerstone is initiative.

Speaker 1

他最喜欢的一句名言是:不采取行动往往就是最大的失败。

One of his favorite quotes is failure to act is often the biggest failure of all.

Speaker 1

主动性就是采取行动的能力。

Initiative is the ability to act.

Speaker 1

就这么简单。

Simple as that.

Speaker 1

你必须做好充分且持续的准备工作。

You must prepare thoroughly and always.

Speaker 1

做到这一点后,你还需要调动起付诸行动的决心和力量。

If you have done that, you must then summon the wherewithal to apply initiative.

Speaker 1

失败是难免的。

Failure's gonna happen.

Speaker 1

我们谁都不是完美的,但你得训练自己别怕失败。

None of us are perfect, but you must train yourself not to fear failure.

Speaker 1

相反,恐惧会导致你什么都不做。

Fear instead leads to inaction.

Speaker 1

所以这在生活的方方面面都是如此。

So this is true in all areas of life.

Speaker 1

要快,但别急。

Be quick, but don't hurry.

Speaker 1

那是他关于主动性的说法。

That was his phrase with regards to taking initiative.

Speaker 1

要快,但别急。

Be quick, but don't hurry.

Speaker 1

他真是个精力充沛的人。

He's just a a powerhouse.

Speaker 1

他清楚自己相信什么,为什么相信,并且能表达出来,他真是个老师。

He knew what he believed and why he believed it and was able to communicate it, and he was a teacher.

Speaker 1

这就是这些课程如此有力的原因。

And that's why these lessons are so powerful.

Speaker 1

下一个是专注,我喜欢这个。

The next one was intentness, and I like this one.

Speaker 1

他说,这个个人品质,在金字塔里也同样重要。

And this personal quality, he said, was as important as any within the pyramids.

Speaker 1

就是能在最困难、障碍看似无法克服的时候,依然坚持走自己的路。

It's the ability to stay the course even when the course is most difficult and the obstacles seem unsurmountable.

Speaker 1

就是别放弃。

Just you do not quit.

Speaker 1

对他来说,专注就是这个意思。

And that's what intentness meant to him.

Speaker 1

你得有毅力,有决心,有韧性,不松劲。

You gotta be persistent, be determined, be tenacious, be unrelenting.

Speaker 1

他说,通往成就的路,崎岖、漫长,而且不容易。

He goes, the road to achievement is rocky, hard, and long.

Speaker 1

轻易得到的东西,往往不长久,也不重要。

Things easily achieved are rarely long lasting or significant.

Speaker 1

如果你有专注力,能力也够,最终就能登上顶峰。

If you have intentness and your ability warrants it, you'll eventually reach the top of the pyramid.

Speaker 1

真棒。

Great stuff.

Speaker 1

所以接下来是这四个。

So those are the next four.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

所以我们有自制力、警觉性、主动性和破伤风。

So we have self control, alertness, initiative, and tetanus.

Speaker 1

那是接下来的四个模块。

Those are the next four blocks.

Speaker 1

然后在这四个之上还有三个,那就是状态。

Then there was three blocks above those, and that was condition.

Speaker 1

而这只是打篮球所需的一部分。

And this is just part of what it took to do the job in basketball.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

你必须有身体状态,但你也必须有心理和道德状态。

You've got to be in physical shape, but you also have to have mental and moral condition.

Speaker 1

这些要素都在金字塔的这一层里,因为它们是相辅相成的,缺一不可。

All these components are in the block of the pyramid because you can't have one without the others.

Speaker 1

如果心理或道德素质不过关,身体状态再好也发挥不出来。

Weak mental or moral condition precludes top physical condition.

Speaker 1

有些观察员觉得我们的球员身体素质已经顶尖了。

Some observers felt that our players had top physical condition.

Speaker 1

但这只是其中一方面而已。

That was only part of it.

Speaker 1

他们在心理和道德层面也达到了很高的状态。

They also had top mental and moral condition.

Speaker 1

我提醒过球员们,要在这个小口诀里承担起达到这种状态的责任。

I reminded them, the players, the responsibility to achieve condition within this little rhyme.

Speaker 1

你做的每件事都需要做出选择,所以请记住,最终你的选择塑造了你是谁。

There's a choice you have to make in everything you do, so keep in mind in the end that the choice you make makes you.

Speaker 1

而且,大家也能看出他对诗歌的热爱。

And, again, you see his love for poetry.

Speaker 1

但他能把那句简短的话传给球员们,而他们也一直铭记在心。

But he was able to give that little phrase to the players, and they were able to keep it.

Speaker 1

而且,显然,有些人把它保持了五十年。

And, obviously, some of them kept it for fifty years.

Speaker 1

下一个是技能。

The next one is skill.

Speaker 1

而在成功金字塔的最中心,正是技能。

And at the very center of the pyramid of success is skill.

Speaker 1

你知道,你必须精通自己的领域,这包括对细节的熟练掌握。

You know, you have to know your stuff, and that includes a mastery of the details.

Speaker 1

无论你是运动员、外科医生还是CEO,这都是真理。

This is true whether you're an athlete, a surgeon, or a CEO.

Speaker 1

你最好能迅速而准确地执行,而这需要技能。

You better be able to execute properly and quickly, and that requires skill.

Speaker 1

他说,尽管我非常看重经验,但我宁愿拥有大量技能和较少经验,也不愿反过来。

He said as much as I value experience and I value it greatly, I'd rather have a lot of skill and less experience than the other way around.

Speaker 1

掌握工作所需的技能需要学习,这也是为什么领导者和那些取得高成就的人都是终身学习者。

Mastery of skills you need in your job requires learning, and it is why leaders and those who are high achievers are lifelong learners.

Speaker 1

他墙上的另一条座右铭是:真正重要的是你在自以为无所不知之后所学到的东西。

Another one of his mottos on his wall was it's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

Speaker 1

这话很有分量。

Powerful stuff.

Speaker 1

关于技能,我喜欢的一点是,你知道如何天生就具备技能。

The thing I love about skills is that you know how to be born with skills.

Speaker 1

你天生就有一定的天赋。

You're born with a certain amount of talent.

Speaker 1

你天生就有一定的动力,但技能是可以后天获得的,而这对他说来是重要的一部分。

You're born with a certain amount of drive, but skills can be acquired, and, that was a big part for him.

Speaker 1

墙上的下一块砖是团队精神。

The next block in the wall was, team spirit.

Speaker 1

他说,金字塔的这一块涉及一个最重要的特质,那就是无私,它与自私正好相反。

This block of the pyramid, he said, addresses a most important characteristic, selflessness, which is the opposite of selfishness.

Speaker 1

我的意思是,你渴望牺牲个人荣耀或利益来成就更大的善,也就是你的组织、你的团队、你的群体的福祉和成功。

I mean this that you're eager to sacrifice personal glory or gain for the greater good, namely the welfare and success of your organization, your team, your group.

Speaker 1

对我来说,这意味着我一直在寻找那个能让团队变得伟大,而不是仅仅是个伟大球员的人。

For me, it meant I was constantly searching for that player who would make our team great rather than someone who was just a great player.

Speaker 1

而且,我相信这就是为什么你不会看到有球队能连续赢得七次冠军。

And and I believe this is why you won't see teams win seven in a row.

Speaker 1

我们今天所处的文化,孩子们在Instagram上打造自己的品牌,他们有NIL(姓名、形象和肖像)合同,这种动态是每个人都想成为伟大的球员,但事实是,要打造一支伟大的团队需要什么?

The culture we live in today, the way the kids are building out their brands on Instagram and they have their NIL, name, image, and likeness, contracts, the dynamic is everybody is trying to be a great player, but the truth of the matter is what does it take to make a great team?

Speaker 1

有趣的是,数据显示,当团队的成功达到顶峰时,个人的荣耀也达到顶峰。

And it's interesting because what the numbers have shown is when the team's success is at an all time high, the individual glory becomes at an all time high.

Speaker 1

那确实是一句很有力量的话。

That really is a powerful one.

Speaker 1

我想另一个接近顶点的说法是,它叫做镇定。

Another one I think which is then again closer to the top, it's called poise.

Speaker 1

对他来说,镇定意味着做你自己。

And poise for him meant just be yourself.

Speaker 1

别伪装成你不是的样子。

Don't pretend to be what you're not.

Speaker 1

不管遇到什么情况,都别慌神、别被带偏、别失去平衡。

Don't get rattled, thrown off, or unbalanced regardless of the circumstance or situation.

Speaker 1

有定力的人在面对压力时不会惊慌失措。

People with poise do not panic under pressure.

Speaker 1

所谓定力,就是坚守自己的原则和信念,无论处境多么顺遂,都按这些准则行事。

Poise means holding fast to your principles and belief and acting in accordance with them regardless of how good the situation may be.

Speaker 1

认清自己,做真实的自己。

Know who you are and be true to yourself.

Speaker 1

保持镇定的人,在任何情况下都能拥有勇敢的心。

Those who poise have a a brave heart in all circumstances.

Speaker 1

当你具备了支撑金字塔的那些品质时,镇定就是你送给自己的一份强大礼物。

Poise is a powerful gift you give to yourself when you acquire the qualities of the pyramid in supporting those tears beneath it, and so powerful one.

Speaker 1

我们再次接近顶端了。

Again, we're near the very top here.

Speaker 1

接下来是自信。

Confidence was next to poise.

Speaker 1

他说,没有什么比坚定的自我信念更坚不可摧了。

He goes, there's no stronger steel than when well founded belief in yourself.

Speaker 1

当你确信自己已经准备充分,随时可以投入比赛时,这种底气就来了。当然,自信也可以靠人为营造。

The knowledge that your preparation is fully complete and that you're ready for competition, confidence can be grafted on artificially.

Speaker 1

但真正持久、稳固的自信,是通过坚持不懈地追求并掌握那些能让你达到自身能力水平的要素而获得的,那就是卓越。

True abiding confidence, however, is earned through tenaciously pursuing and attaining those assets allow you to reach your own level of competency, and that's excellence.

Speaker 1

你得时刻留意自己的自信,因为它很容易变成傲慢。一旦傲慢起来,人就会错误地以为,不用像以前那样拼命努力,之前的成绩也能重演,这种想法可是会毁人的。

You must monitor confidence because it can easily turn into arrogance, which can lead to the mistaken and destructive belief that previous achievement will be repeated without the same hard effort.

Speaker 1

这就是他能连续七次夺冠的原因。

That's why he was able to win seven in a row.

Speaker 1

最后呢,金字塔的顶端是竞技层面的卓越。

And then lastly, at the top of the pyramid was competitive greatness.

Speaker 1

我觉得挺有意思的,大家今天聊到的团队精神、技术能力、自信、沉稳,还有竞技卓越,这些概念其实早就被反复讨论过了。

Now it's interesting to me because if you listen today, team spirit, skill, confidence, poise, competitive greatness, these are all talked about.

Speaker 1

但这些原则本身,几乎没人提。

But these principles underneath it, almost never.

Speaker 1

而这就是为什么他的成功能够长久,而我所追求的也正是长久成功。

And that's why his success was long lasting, and that's what I want is long lasting success.

Speaker 1

他说,竞技的伟大在于真正热爱艰苦的战斗,知道它提供了在需要时发挥最佳状态的机会。

He says competitive greatness is having a real love for the hard battle, knowing it offers the opportunity to be at your best when your best is required.

Speaker 1

我交手过、执教过、敬佩过的伟大竞争者,都共同享受奋斗本身、旅程、比赛和竞争。

The great competitors I've played for and against, taught and admired, all shared a joy in the struggle itself, the journey, the contest, the competition.

Speaker 1

战斗越艰难,越好。

The tougher the battle, the better.

Speaker 1

领导者必须把这些传达给所领导的人。

A leader must convey this to those they lead.

Speaker 1

艰难的战斗能激发出竞技的伟大。

A tough fight can bring forth competitive greatness.

Speaker 1

艰苦的战斗激励着伟大的竞争者深入挖掘自己。

The hard battle inspires and motivates a great competitor to dig deep inside.

展开剩余字幕(还有 44 条)
Speaker 1

这就是为什么我享受挑战,因为对手的强大让我更上一层楼。

And that's why I relish the challenge a worthy competitor presents.

Speaker 1

你被考验,当你准备充分时,你会达到最高的成就和卓越。

You are tested, and when properly prepared, you'll rise to the highest level of achievement and competitive greatness.

Speaker 1

我从约翰·伍登那里学到了很多,在他身边的十周里,最打动我的是他的谦逊。

What I learned so much from John Wooden in the ten weeks I was with him, the thing that struck me the most was humility.

Speaker 1

第二点打动我的是他的信念,他的信念就像一条舒适的牛仔裤。

The second thing that struck me was his faith, that his faith was like a comfortable pair of jeans.

Speaker 1

那是一种他非常自在和舒适的状态。

It was something that he was very relaxed and comfortable in.

Speaker 1

这种信念从他的言行中自然流露,而不是通过说教。

It it came out through his pores, but it didn't come out through proselytizing in any way, shape, or form.

Speaker 1

这正是他哲学的核心。

It was just the core of his philosophy.

Speaker 1

第三点触动我的是他对妻子的忠诚。

The third thing that hit me was his commitment to his wife.

Speaker 1

我见到约翰·伍登的时候,他的妻子刚去世不久。

By the time I met John Wooden, his wife had just passed.

Speaker 1

他们高中一年级时就认识了。

They met as freshmen in high school.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

那是很久以前的事了,他们21岁就结婚了。

Those those old days, and they got married when they were 21.

Speaker 1

妻子去世后的几十年里,他每个月都会去她的墓前,还会写一封情书,放在她生前枕过的枕头上。

For decades after his wife now passed, every month he would visit her crypt, and he'd also write a love letter and stack it on the pillows that she used to sleep on.

Speaker 1

那些情书堆得像山一样高,都是他写给已故妻子的。

And there were just mountains and mountains of these love letters that he wrote to his bride after she passed.

Speaker 1

当你亲眼看到、亲耳听到这些事的时候,真的会深受触动。

That's the kind of stuff when you see that stuff and you hear that stuff that, really makes an impact.

Speaker 1

他是个很有智慧的人,而且他更多的是以身作则,而不是空谈道理。

Brilliant man with brilliant insights, and he was more by example than anything else.

Speaker 1

挺有意思的,因为高中那时候,丹尼·艾弗森——也就是这档节目的制作人,他现在就在我旁边的录音棚里——他爸爸是我女儿安娜所在篮球队的教练,这是个典型的‘戴克故事’。

It was interesting because in high school, Danny Iverson, who is the producer of the show, he's in the studio right now with me, his dad was the coach of the basketball team that my daughter Anna played on, and it was the classic Under Dyke story.

Speaker 1

那家在家教育机构后来还拿了城市冠军。

It was a homeschool organization that went on to win a city championship.

Speaker 1

丹尼·艾弗森的父亲斯科特·艾弗森是史上最大的约翰·伍登迷,他经常把这些原则用在教学中。

Danny Iverson's dad, Scott Iverson, was the biggest John Wooden fan of all time, and he used these principles all the time.

Speaker 1

最棒的是,他以一种非常微妙的方式,把同样的原则教给了这些孩子。

And what a fabulous thing it was that in a very subtle way, he would teach these same principles to these kids.

Speaker 1

挺有意思的,因为我今天录这期节目时,我女儿正在欧洲参加马术盛装舞步项目的选拔,争取拿到美国奥运代表队的席位。

It's interesting because as I record this broadcast today, my daughter's in Europe competing for a spot on the US Olympic team for dressage.

Speaker 1

她出发去机场的时候跟我说:‘爸,是时候展现真正的竞技实力了。’

And as she was leaving to go to the airport, she goes, dad, it's time for some competitive greatness.

Speaker 1

让我觉得很有意思的是,这么多年过去了——她十三年前还在打高中篮球什么的——但丹尼爸爸传下来的那些伍登语录,竟然也传到了我女儿身上,她现在正朝着奥运梦想努力呢。

And it was interesting to me that after all these years, I mean, she played high school basketball, whatever, thirteen years ago, that one of those Woodenisms passed on from Danny's dad onto my daughter, who's now pursuing her Olympic dream.

Speaker 1

我觉得这正是约翰·伍登的魅力所在:他注重原则,分享这些深刻的理念,并且愿意像一位领导者那样保持耐心,不是急着今天或明天就解决问题,而是真正把这些大道理教给别人,带着大家一步步成长。

And that, I think, really is the magic of John Wooden, is that he was principle based, and he shared these deep principles and was willing to be patient as a leader, to not fix something today or tomorrow, which I have struggled with in the past, but actually to teach these bigger principles to people, to bring people along.

Speaker 1

他留下的远不止作为加州大学洛杉矶分校棕熊队球员以及那些冠军头衔的遗产,他还留下了深远的影响,包括他所影响的每一个人、他所执教的每一支球队、他所建立的每一个组织,以及他为传承这些智慧所撰写的书籍。

And, he left far more than just a legacy as a UCLA Bruin and all those championships, but he also left a legacy with the people he impacted, the teams he coached, the organization he built, and then the books he wrote to pass on this wisdom.

Speaker 1

所以,如果你还没有读过伍登关于领导力等方面的任何著作,我强烈建议你读一读。

And so if you have never read any of Wooden's books on leadership and so on and so forth, I just highly recommend it.

Speaker 1

他是一个值得学习的人。

He is a man worth learning from.

Speaker 1

他是一位传奇人物。

He was a legend.

Speaker 1

1997年那十周里,我压根儿不知道他是谁。

And for ten weeks in 1997, I didn't know who he was.

Speaker 1

后来通过他的榜样力量,我开始敬佩他,内心也生出一种好奇心,想更多地了解他。

Then through his example, I came to admire him, created in me a curiosity to find out more about him.

Speaker 1

十周结束的时候,我可以告诉你,我的生活从此彻底改变了。

And at the end of ten weeks, I can tell you my life was never the same.

Speaker 1

所以,我希望今天分享的这些来自伍登教练的原则,能对你有所启发。

So I hope some of these principles I've shared today from Coach Wooden will impact you.

Speaker 1

希望这些原则能激励你进一步深入探索,也许可以去听一下他的书,比如在Audible上找一本,好好钻研一番。

I hope it'll spur you on one of these principles to go dig a little deeper and maybe get a copy of one of his books on Audible or something like that and to dig in a little deeper.

Speaker 1

我们每个人都有成功的能力。

We all have the ability for success.

Speaker 1

这座“成功金字塔”的原则是建立在基础之上的,就像埃及的金字塔一样,它们将历经数百年甚至更久依然屹立不倒。

This Pyramid's Success are principle based, and just like the Pyramids Of Egypt, these will be around for centuries and centuries to come.

Speaker 1

希望你们喜欢今天的节目,也欢迎你们听听我分享的那段二十七年前的年轻经历,它至今仍让我记忆犹新。

I hope you enjoyed today's broadcast and me musing on an experience I had as a younger man twenty seven years ago that stuck with me to this day.

Speaker 1

希望今天的内容能给你一些鼓励,谢谢你的收听。

And, hopefully, this encouraged you this day, and, thanks for joining me.

Speaker 1

非常感谢大家一路陪伴我,参与《美好人生》这个节目。

I always appreciate you folks being on this journey with me on It's a Good Life.

Speaker 1

说到旅程,最后我想送给大家一个祝福,来自我成功之路上的重要支柱——我的母亲,特蕾莎。

And speaking of the journey, I'm gonna leave you today with a blessing from one of the pillars of my success, my mother, Therese.

Speaker 1

妈妈,请开始吧。

Take it away, mom.

Speaker 2

愿你前路平坦,一路顺风。

May the road rise up to meet you, and may the wind always be at your back.

Speaker 2

愿细雨轻洒在你的田野上,暖阳常照你的脸庞。

May the rain fall soft upon your fields and the sun shine warm upon your face.

Speaker 2

在下次见面之前,愿上帝将你护在他的掌心之中。

And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

Speaker 2

我们下次见。

See you next time.
