My best friend Penelope is a porpoise.

I am on my way to my friend Penelope's house, which is really an underwater reef.

Like I said, Penelope is a porpoise.

Porpoises stick together in pods or schools, which is just an underwater way of saying family.

Together, they make up a school.

I spent all afternoon yesterday building a sand castle, but when I woke up this morning it was completely gone.

Susie practiced another one of the 10 emojis.

We all headed over towards the reef to explore the new shipwreck, but we noticed something seemed weird in the water.

The water seemed all dirty, and the seaweed wasn't green like it usually is.

It was all black.

我们觉得海藻不对劲，于是转身回去通知学校。

We knew something wasn't right with the seaweed, so we turned around and went back to tell the school.

我们到学校时，佩内洛普的父母正在到处找我们。

When we got to the school, Penelope's mom and dad were looking everywhere for us.

My parents were with them and were searching, too.

We've been looking everywhere for you, said Penelope's mom.

There's been a terrible accident and the water is polluted.

All of the seaweed is infected and we need to be very careful.

Susie and Joey, I think you guys should go home to your families.

As it turns out, the polluted water and infected seaweed were caused by the shipwreck.

And the ship was too big for us to move out of the way on our own.

We needed to think of a plan.

In the meantime, my mom said that we had to stay in our reef and Penelope had to stick to her school.

Everyone also needed to wear these funny goggles because the infected water could hurt our eyes.

It made me really miss the sight of the sunlight shimmering on the reefs below.

I felt especially bad for Penelope who had a hard time keeping her goggles on with her long porpoise nose.

Weeks went by and still we couldn't come up with a plan to move the shipwreck.

We tried everything.

First, my dad and the members of Penelope's school swam over to the whales and asked them for help.

But the whales were too scared to go near the ship because they also had a hard time finding goggles that fit properly.

Then we found an old fishing net and tied it to the ship.

The whole porpoise school swam as hard as they could while holding the net in their mouths.

But they weren't strong enough to move the ship.

I started to get really sad.

I missed Penelope and Perry and the rest of the school.

As long as we couldn't move the shipwreck, it meant we couldn't see Susie and Joey either.

I wondered how they were doing.

I really wanted to take these goggles off and swim back to be with everyone.

Because the pollution was infecting the seaweed, all of the underwater seaweed salad and seaweed pizza restaurants had to close for a while.

With no pizza, no friends, and these goggles on, I knew we had to come up with a solution.

The next day, I snuck over to meet with Penelope, Perry, Prime, Pam, and Paloma so we could devise a plan.

Then it hit us.

What if we could build a sand castle so big that it completely covered the ship and prevented the pollution from getting out?

That night while my parents were sleeping, I snuck away to Joey's house, which you should not do and is never a good idea.

He said, My parents said that we're not supposed to be out with others because the seaweed infections can spread if we bump into them.

Joey, I know, but I have a plan.

We need to stop the ship from polluting our waters.

We buried the ship, but the water was still dirty.

Feeling discouraged, we all went back to our homes with our goggles on.

A few days later, and feeling pretty sad and defeated, I went out for a swim.

Sometimes it makes me feel better to take a swim when I'm not feeling great.

I was only a couple reefs away from home when I noticed the seaweed appeared to be brighter than before.

Just then I saw Susie and her family swimming up.

After a few more days, our ocean was back to normal.

We celebrated together as an ocean family with a huge seaweed pizza reef party.

It was really scary to have our lives turn upside down for a while.

There were periods where I really felt sad and really long to see the sun again.

But in the end, we all came together as an underwater community to come up with a solution.

That made us feel closer to one another than ever before.

Also, I learned to love my mom's sand crab salads.

I think it's important to remember that whenever we feel scared or sad, that there are lots of other people who share our feelings, and that when we come together as a community and support one another, we can solve whatever problems we face.
