大家好,欢迎收听《我们说的英语》,这个节目会解释英语母语者常用的短语和表达,这样你们也能用上。
Hello, and welcome to The English We Speak, where we explain phrases and expressions used by fluent English speakers so that you can use them too.
我是菲菲。
I'm Feifei.
我是贝卡。
And I'm Becca.
贝卡,我今天见到我们的新同事了。
Becca, I met our new colleague today.
她让我想起了你。
She reminds me of you.
真的吗?
Really?
那挺有意思的。
That's interesting.
我们的性格和成长背景差别挺大的。
We have quite different personalities and upbringings.
嗯,你们俩都是卷发,穿的衣服颜色柔和,而且说话都特别快。
Well, you both have curly hair, dress in soft colours and talk incredibly fast.
好吧。
Okay.
也许我们是同一个人,只是字体不同。
Maybe we're the same person, different font.
同一个人,字体不同。
Same person, different font.
这个说法挺奇怪的。
That's a strange expression.
确实。
It is.
这是一种幽默的说法,意思是两个人有些方面很像,但仍然是明显不同的两个人。
It's a humorous way of saying that two people are very similar in some ways, but are still clearly different people.
所以就像他们有相同的风格或外表,但在细节上有所不同。
So it's like they have the same style or appearance, but there are differences in the details.
没错。
Exactly.
想象一下同一篇文章的两种不同字体版本。
Think about two versions of the same piece of writing in different fonts.
文字是一样的,但看起来不一样。
The words are the same, but they look different.
当我们形容两个人是“同一个人,不同字体”时,我们是在开玩笑说他们给人的感觉非常相似。
When we describe people as the same person, different font or the same person in a different font, we're joking that they have a very similar vibe.
明白了。
I see.
我们再听一些例子吧。
Let's hear some more examples.
我哥哥打电话给我的时候,声音跟我爸一模一样。
When my brother calls me on the phone, he sounds exactly like my dad.
他们简直就是同一个人,只是字体不同。
They're really the same person, just different font.
你让我想起一个以前一起上学的人,太像了。
You remind me so much of someone I went to school with.
就像你们是同一个人,只是字体不同。
It's like you're the same person, different font.
我和我朋友真的很像。
My friend and I are really similar.
就像我们是同一个人,只是字体不同。
It's like we're the same person, just a different font.
贝卡,这个说法是不是总指两个人长得像?
Becca, does it always mean that the people look alike?
不,不一定。
No, not always.
他们可能长得完全不一样。
They might look completely different.
这种情况下,更多是指性格、行为、兴趣或者整体风格。
In that case, it's more about personality, behaviour, interests or general style.
我明白了。
I see.
这个表达很常见吗?
Is this a very common expression?
在英语口语和网络或社交媒体上挺常见的。
It's fairly common in spoken English and online or on social media.
它比较非正式。
It's informal.
比如,如果我遇到一个很有条理、很时尚、还留着波波头的人,我就可以这么说。
I could say if I ever met someone who is very organised, stylish and has a bob haircut.
哦,那你可能遇到了另一个版本的我。
Oh, you might have found me in a different font.
本期节目就到这里,欢迎下次继续收听,学习更多英语短语和表达。
That's it for this program, but join us next time to learn more English phrases and expressions.
但现在,我们该说再见了。
But for now, it's goodbye.
再见。
Bye.
