So the expression we're learning in this programme is in a tizzy.

“in a tizzy”是什么意思？

What does it mean to be in a tizzy?

其实我前几天刚用过这个表达。

Well, I actually used this the other day.

我姐姐因为丢了家门钥匙而非常着急。

My sister was getting stressed because she lost her house keys.

我跟她说，别慌。

I said to her, don't get yourself in a tizzy.

我昨天还看到你拿着钥匙呢。

I saw you with them yesterday.

钥匙肯定在房子里面。

They'll be in the house.

在英国，通常也说“in a tizz”。

In The UK, it's also common to say in a tizz.

所以如果你“in a tizzy”，意思就是你处于恐慌或慌乱的状态。

So if you're in a tizzy, it means you're in a state of panic or confusion.

所以当你对姐姐说“别紧张”，就像是在说“别担心”。

So when you said to your sister, don't get yourself in a tizzy, it's like saying don't worry.

对，没错。

Yes, exactly.

不过，当你陷入慌乱的时候，通常是因为一些小事，而且你的反应往往比问题本身要夸张得多。

But when you're in a tizzy, it's usually over something minor and the reaction is often bigger than the problem requires.

I'm quite a calm person so I don't often get myself in a tizzy.

What gets you in a tizz, Feifei?
