Hey, three things we're most Today thankful specifically, we're talking about the riches that we have in fellowship with other believers, the gift of walking together.

And to get the topic kicked off, I'm going to read from First John chapter one verses one through three.

A couple of times the word fellowship is used right here at the beginning of the epistle.

And this is what John says.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and our hands have handled of the word of life.

For the life was manifested and we have seen it and bear witness and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested onto us.

So here comes fellowship.

I think it's used twice in the same verse.

Now which we have seen and heard declare we unto you that you also may have fellowship with us and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
不想让你们觉得我太书呆子气，但简单说一下，约翰在这封信中使用的希腊语'fellowship'对应词是'koinonia'。
So not to be super nerdy for you guys, but just for a minute, the Greek word for fellowship used by John in this epistle is koinonia.
Koinonia。
Koinonia.

And it really basically, we could boil it down to a simple meaning of thinking with Christ.

There's a couple other ways to describe it.

Joint participation, having like minded thoughts with each other, but really having the same mind, very similar to the way that Paul talks about it in Philippians chapter two, having the same mind as Christ.

If you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, then another person believes that same thing, like then you have fellowship one with another.

We were having this conversation jokingly, thinking about people in the world who are diehard Coke fans versus people in the world who are diehard Pepsi fans and how they might look at each other.

That's that has nothing to do with what we're talking about today when we talk about fellowship.

We're really speaking about the things that are connected to Jesus Christ.

Like I love the way John starts the epistle out.

He says, all of us, like speaking of the apostles, all of us have seen Him, have heard from Him, have handled Him like we've, our hands have handled the Word of Life.
祂曾向我们显现。
It was manifested before us.

All of this is important when it comes to real fellowship with another believer.
这种团契可以发生在婚姻中。
This can take place in a marriage.
这种团契可以存在于虔诚的友谊里。
This can take place in a godly friendship.
这种团契可能出现在一个人得救的瞬间——当你们在街头传福音时有人归向基督，突然间转变就发生了。
This can take place the moment after a person is saved and you're on the street having evangelism and someone comes to Christ, all of a sudden there's a change that takes place.

You go from not being associated with each other because one's a child of light and one's a child of darkness to having the like mindedness of Christ in that moment.
是的。
Yeah.

And I think our pastor recently talked about this just, Christ was sitting with sinners, right?
还有那些嘲弄者，但祂并不与他们同流合污。
And scorners, but He wasn't like a part of them.

Like He wasn't, you know, having fellowship and that.

Like he was changing the atmosphere in a way like he was bringing himself into it as he is the light.

And, that's what we can do too as well.

But we don't have fellowship with them.

Like we're not always constantly being with, you know, the world or the sinners and because that can distort, you know, many things and that's a different topic.

But, really, like, like the churches, like the called out ones, right, where or where, believers are set apart.

We are different.

None of that really matters in the body of Christ because we're all one together as we stated like previously, I think a week ago.

Yeah.

And that's what makes us unique.

And that's what makes, you know, a follower of Christ unique is just He gives us a new mind that like, can this mind that like He forgets the sins of the world or like He forgets your sins.

And remembers them no more.

But that's what makes, you know, the body of Christ is what we're talking about in fellowship in that so different is we could be so different in so many ways outwardly and on the outside, but on the inside Christ makes us one and we are one and there's unity in that.

And there's strength in unity as Psalm a hundred and thirty three one, you know, says, how good and pleasant it is when people live together in unity.

And there's I was thinking like, you know, we there's that reference about the braids, like the three cords or any time together, they're a lot stronger than separate.

And then you were talking about Psalm 133, like there's a blessing commanded to people who dwell together in unity.

But what I, the point I really want to make just, just to get started is that the unity is not based on anything other than Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
如果你和我都承认耶稣基督是上帝的儿子——抱歉我要点名另一个教派——比如对面坐着一位摩门教徒，你其实并不相信耶稣是上帝的儿子。
If you and I agree that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, like if sorry, sorry to call out another name group, but like, if you're a Mormon sitting across from me, you do not believe that Jesus is the son of God.
你相信祂成为一位神，掌管一个世界并创造自己的世界，并相信有一天你也能做同样的事，这样我们之间就没有团契的基础了——当然这可能是比较极端的例子。
You believe that He becomes a God and you believe that He takes control of a world and births His own world, and you believe that the same, you would be able to do the same thing one day, like we wouldn't have fellowship because we both would need to start like, okay, that's maybe that's like an extreme example.

Take take a really simple example.

You and I are both baseball fans.

We probably don't cheer for the same team.

So you have a group meeting together in a church or in a Bible study or getting together to worship like, you know, an outdoor worship, whatever.

The culminated the what's the central factor of whether or not that group is in fellowship is if they are lifting up Jesus Christ.

You can have a group, talk about politics this and politics that, and it's not going to get you anywhere.

Like he did something far greater than any politician will ever do for us.

He paid for our sins.

He didn't give us more ways to accomplish our misdeeds and circumvent the law and whatever else, whatever thing you could make up to think about in your brain.

But Jesus Christ came here, paid for our sins, put them on His account, told us that our account was wiped clean, that they don't exist anymore and said, you have fellowship with you because of what I've done.

And that makes all the difference in the world.

Yeah.

And we think about like the Trinity because that's like perfect unity right there.

Embodied unity right there.

Like that is it.

And so now as us, like as fallen beings, like, we're trying to receive this unity, know, and it's very hard, but he gives us the tools is what you're saying, the word of God.

He gives us the church, the body of Christ, and he gives us his spirit.

You know, he gives us these tools to become unified because you have a flesh, you have differences, you have different languages, looks, all these things, but you could become one and it's only through these things.

And what would you say?

Because like in today's world, a lot of people are like, kind of like, I do it myself kind of thing.

Yeah.
我不需要任何人的想法。
I don't need any one mindset.
我认为通过经文可以清楚地看到，团契生活中蕴含着某种特别丰富的东西。
And I think through scripture, like it's clearly seen that like there's something so special about or so rich in for fellowship.

You like that?

But it sounds so rich because in fellowship and it's true.

Like in the beginning, like, you know, God was walking with Adam in the garden.

God said it wasn't good for man to dwell alone.

We see even Moses.

Moses is starting to lead his people, and he's like, you know, he puts his father-in-law in there.

Jesus himself, the son himself came and what did he have?

There's so much there's an important thing about fellowship and unity.

So what would you say to like either that or just the person who's like, I don't really need it.

I can do it and I'm doing good.

You know?

That's, that's a great question because a lot of us live there.

We heard about it a little bit last night.

That's basically a form of pride to say that you don't need anyone or anything that you can do it just fine on your own.

Man, what would we say to a person who's in that attitude or thinking about life that way?

I'm better off on my own.

Like there's a woman the other day who drove her car off into the Inner Harbor in Baltimore to try to end her life.

And luckily, like everyone was able to get to her and pull her out before she drowned.
但几天后她还是因伤势过重不幸去世了。
But a couple days later she ended up succumbing to her injuries and passed away anyway.
人怎么会走到这一步，对生活彻底绝望，觉得要么只能靠自己，要么就彻底放弃？
Like where, how do you get to the point where you're so fed up with life that, oh, it's either I can do it by myself or actually I can't do it at all.
就这样放弃了。
And you just give up.
这时候有个信仰虔诚的兄弟姐妹就至关重要了。
This is where having a godly brother or sister makes all the difference in the world.
有人为你祈祷，有人鼓励你，甚至只是在你经历困难时倾听你。
Having someone who's praying for you, having someone who's there to encourage you, or even, even just to listen to you when you're going through something.
是啊。
Yeah.
这会让一切变得截然不同。
That makes all the difference in the world.
能够知道自己并非独自一人面对生活，对我们的生存至关重要，在现实生活中也是如此。
To be able to know that like you are not walking through life all by yourself is, paramount to our survival, just in real life.
如果只靠我们自己和我们头脑中的想法，那些念头会多么迅速地失控？
Like if it's left up to us and our own heads and the thoughts that go through them, how quickly do those spiral out of control?
多么快就会变成真实、真实的生活场景，真实得不能再真实的情况。
How quickly like, like there's a real, real life, real, real case scenario.

I literally just had this conversation with my wife.
有一群郊狼在我们居住的帕克维尔地区游荡。
There's a pack of coyotes roaming through like the area where we live in Parkville.

And like, you know, they go back, walk into the back of the woods to where the creek is just to have some fun, to enjoy.

And then a pack of coyote shows up like, like what, me left to myself and my own thoughts, I would not be able to think straight about that scenario and I would be living fearfully.

I would not let my kids out of my sight kind of thing.

But that that's like no way to live life.

So there's like, there's times the word fellowship is used throughout the Bible, where you know that like, if you are doing these things with another believer, you're going to have a great time.

Asking someone for prayer for a situation that you're dealing with in your life.

That gives a reason for both of you to connect with each other again at a later point.

Like, hey, I've been praying for you for this thing.

You can't have fellowship with another believer if you're walking in darkness and they're walking in the light and vice versa.

It has to be you both walking in the light.

If you're both walking in the light, like how great of a power is that against darkness and all the things that come at you in your soul, all the projections that come through your mind.

Well, sometimes like you just get busy with life and you just get one thing after the next, after the next, after the next.

And you realize, oh man, I haven't like been with a brother or sister in a while.

And you stop and you make, you make an attempt to fill up the tank.

And then vice versa, I could also give to another brother who who needs this encouragement.

And that's where you see in that Ephesians verse, the fullness.
