Tell us how you go about leading a congregation in worship.

It it's never it never comes naturally.

As as Seb and I were talking earlier, there's so much heart preparation that goes into it way before way before you're up there singing.

Many times, it's on your knees five in the morning just crying out to God.

Many times, it's just in alone.

Just, you know, sometimes worship starts out as pleading.

Sometimes it starts out as crying out to God.

That's where it starts because you you sense your own inadequacy, sense your own weaknesses and your own humanity.

And but I think God is so pleased that we just come to Him.

And and by the way, I I something I've always in my heart said, I'm not up there to entertain people.

I refuse I refuse to to entertain anybody.

I'm I'm up there for one reason because I I am there to worship Jesus Christ regardless of what anyone else is doing.

If no one else was worshiping, if no one's raising their hands, it doesn't it's somebody said we live for an audience of one.

Yeah.

It has to be personal before it's corporate.

Why is God calling us to worship him as a habit?

Let's think of some things that had become a habit to us when maybe at first they it wasn't it didn't come natural to us.

You know, it didn't come natural to us to worship.

It it doesn't come natural to us maybe to love love our wives, to serve our wives.

Some things, many things have got to become a habit, have have got to transcend what I feel like doing before it becomes a habit.

And I think that worship is one of those things where in Hebrews eleven one in the amplified, the writer said this beautiful definition of faith.

If we waited till we felt like it, we many times, we would never worship God.

So that when you describe that worship that way, you you're telling me that it it involves our mind.

And worship and truth, of course, go together.

When you lead a congregation in worship as you do from time to time here in the church, it really does it sets the table, doesn't it, to receive God's word and the message that comes from the pulpit.

And I you know, the beautiful thing about worship, this is just from my, you you know, personal perspective, is that it takes my mind off of myself, and it helps me to focus my thoughts upon God.

And I find that to be wonderful, liberating, delivering, because I need that in my life.

I think all of us are by nature self focused, but yet when we come into a worship service and we lift our voices and we lift our hearts and we lift our hands to God, we are, you know, we mentioned earlier before the program started, it's not about us, it's about Him.

And we have to purposely focus the attention of our hearts and minds on Him for worship to be authentic and genuine.

Like, why do we raise our hands in worship?

It's like putting up our spiritual antenna.

And and and I I think God just honors that.

You know, I I walk into church.

We we walk into church many times not feeling spiritual, not feeling close to God, but by faith, by faith we perceive as fact what is not revealed to our senses and we worship God on purpose because we've already done it in our hearts.

And I and I think getting back to that first question, you know, how do I prepare?

It goes way before I get into a church service.

So it's about a human need.

He was thirsty.

How does how does God quench our spiritual thirst?

And Jesus said to her, go, call your husband and come here.

And the woman answered and said, I have no husband.
耶稣说：‘你说得对，我没有丈夫。’
Jesus said to her, You have well said I have no husband.
因为你有过五个丈夫，现在有的也不是你的丈夫；你说的是实话。
For you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband in that you spoke truly.
她当时在神的面前。
She was in the presence of God.
她当时正面对着道成肉身的上帝。
She was in the presence of the incarnate God.
他向她坦露了一切，一切。
And he told her everything, everything.
他看透了她的一切。
He saw right through her.
敬拜就是从这里开始的。
And that's where worship starts.
哇哦。
Wow.
在上帝的同在中，在真实坦诚中，在上帝的同在中。
In the presence of God, in in transparency, in the presence of God.
于是那妇人说：先生，我看出你是先知。
And then the woman said, sir, I have perceived that you're a prophet.
我们的祖先在这座山上敬拜，而你们犹太人却说，敬拜的地方应当在耶路撒冷。
Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you, Jews, say that in Jerusalem is the place where you ought to worship.

I kinda think she tried to change the subject a little bit.

Can you imagine?

She was probably so convicted by what he said, she tried to change the subject.

are some of those things that we could worship without knowing that we're worshiping them?

There's a lot of things potentially we could worship.

How about the the the Pharisee in the temple with a publican?

What did he say?

He prayed thus with himself.

God, I thank you that I'm not like other men.

Like, that's what he was doing.

Oh, and he believed that God was listening to that kind of a prayer.
是的。
Yeah.

Yeah.

But he but Jesus said, you worship what you do not know.

That Pharisee didn't know who he was worshiping.

But then Jesus said, we know what we worship for salvation is of the Jews.

But the hour is coming and now is when the true worshipers will worship the father in spirit and truth.

The Father is seeking such to worship Him.

You know the word worship in the Hebrew means to kiss toward.

That's what it means.

It's a meaning of intimacy.
神所寻找的不是那些在敬拜时情绪化、宗教化或虔诚的人，祂寻找的是亲密的关系。
God is not looking for people that will be emotional necessarily in their worship or religious in their worship or pious in their he's looking for intimacy.
当我敬拜祂时，我亲吻神。
I kiss God when I'm worshiping him.
神正在寻求我们去亲吻祂。
God is seeking us to kiss him.
对吧？
Right?

First, was it Song of Solomon?

And what do we do in response?

And getting back to how we prepare our hearts and worship, I think it's through this book.

When I read this book, I see Jesus in it.

I see the nature and character of God, and the the the the result is is worship.

And then then the tears come to our eyes, and and we're broken, and the and the tears fall on the pages of the Bible.

And we're saying, oh god, you're so precious.

You're so awesome.

You've been so good to me.
我读到一节经文，那里充满了亲密感。
And I read a verse and and and it's there's this intimacy.

There's this intimacy because of the truth of the word of God, and then I begin to worship God in my spirit through the Holy Spirit.

This is where worship starts.

You you can't worship God without the spirit of God.

It all begins with someone coming to Christ and saying, I I need to be born again.

I need the spirit of God to quicken, to give me new life, and the spirit of God is able to become our teacher.

I mean, Jesus said he's gonna come.

He's gonna teach you all of these things which I have spoken to you.
祂要引领你，引导你，指引你的脚步。
He's going to lead you, He's going to guide you, He's going to direct your steps.

All you have to do is have a willingness to say, Okay, God, fill me with your spirit so that I'm being controlled by your spirit.
而我们如何敬拜的指导，就来自圣经的真理。
And then the instruction of how we worship comes in the truth of the Bible.

Yeah.

Which is why we are spending so much time reading it and enjoying its promises and reaping all of the benefits of a life that's learning how to live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

It's fascinating to me that, as you read in that passage, that Jesus is he's seeking, he's looking for worshipers.

Much like during yesterday's podcast on the subject of gratitude, Jesus healed the 10 lepers, and only one returned to thank him and to worship him.

And Jesus said to him, he said, where are the nine?

Why did he ask that question?

Because he was looking for them.

You know, the wonderful thing about worship, and you mentioned it, yeah, God is worth it, but we need it in our lives.

Beautiful.

And just thinking in Ephesians one:six, to the praise of the glory of His grace, the praise of the glory of His grace wherein He has made us accepted in the beloved.

And we were just worshipping God for the glory of His grace toward us.

That's all.
