第626期 | 有目标地奔跑：目的地天堂

你知道吗，他们夫妇在瑞典的宣教场上住了二十二年，我觉得是这样。

You know, they lived in Sweden for twenty two years, I think, on the mission field, Holly and Tapio.

而且，你知道，经常有团体只是匆匆路过，停留片刻。

And and, you know, it was not unusual for a group just to pass through on a visit in in a minute's time.

桌上摆满了食物，每个人的衣物也都被洗好并叠得整整齐齐，就为他们准备着。

There's like, you know, a table full of food and everybody's laundry is washed and folded for that.

I remember being a kid and being in they lived in Stockholm and in Malmo as well.

And I remember being a kid on summer harvest and our parents took us over there, my dad and mom and my sisters and being in their home in Sweden.

And she was like a mother.

Like as a little kid, she was definitely like a mother.

She was very warm and very caring and very aware of how you felt.

And she wanted you to feel at home in her home.

She had a real gift for that.

And to think that she lived her life here on Earth serving other people to reflect who Christ is.

And she did that in an amazing way.

And honestly, I could tell you that and a lot of that was my mom also.

My mom was the same way.

And I'm telling you, from the time that she was in her early twenties until the time that she passed, I do not recall one day where she wavered from her walk with God.

You know, we all have our moments, I'm sure, and probably in her own harder life, she had her challenges.

I literally would just sweep the floor again and again because I didn't have the skills to be a carpenter.

But Tapio would be on the job sites and he was always one of those guys that just brought joy just with his attitude.

I never saw him frazzled.

I never saw him angry.

I always saw him always being kind to everyone and so edifying.

Yeah.

And I think we can make a point as we just talk about these practical things of people in our life.

Luke chapter 16, Jesus is talking about the unjust steward, and he uses him as an example of someone in life who's using his opportunities to gain wealth for his own security here in this life.

And Jesus uses him as an example to his disciples and says that the sons of this world are wise in using whatever they have to give them safety in this world.

But I want you guys to use all of your resources so that when you get to heaven, you're going to have a group of friends who are waiting for you because you use all of your influence and your goods here on Earth, meaning not material goods, but your time, your energy, your money, and you use it to build relationships that are going to be eternal relationships in heaven.

And Mike Williams was such a great example of that.

I mean, I wish I could have just told him how much he meant to me.

And, you know, like when you have people go home to be with the Lord, you don't have to be sentimental about it because you're going to see him again.

But these people have such an impact on your life.

And Danny Quirk, your dad and Peggy and your sister and Tapio, these are people that have used their resources to influence other people that were benefit of it.

And when we get to heaven, they're going to be waiting for us and we can't wait to see them because they had such an eternal impact on our lives.

And they didn't use their life or their time or their money for their own comfort or safety because that's all passing away.

And the impact of all the people in Sweden and the impact of her kids with Kirsty and Tarja and her extended family and the people in the church.

What a legacy.

And I I look at it like Abraham in Hebrews 11 who, you know, did what he did with a city whose builder and maker was in heaven, a a city with foundations.

You know, you think about, all of the the temporal, like the tent movement that would happen in in those days of Abraham.

But but Hebrews 11 says that he had a foundation Mhmm.

As he moved with a, you know, a city whose builder and maker was heaven.

That's what he was seeking.

And so he's moving without the concrete foundation on earth, but knowing I'm following a voice whose builder and maker is heaven.

Is God and so much more valuable than all of the riches that he's leaving behind or his established kingdom that he's moving in a way that's like has real eternal value.

And I think that that's in a practical way what we're talking about here, that we we are building our foundation in truth.

When God says who he is, that we we take it as the most secure thing we could ever Mhmm.

And then we live our lives that way.

But, you know, to step down from the call of God to go to one of those places is not in my my heart.

Now for another person, that might be the call of God.

But for me personally, you know, bible school, finding out what the will of God is for my life and doing it Mhmm.

Raising my family in the faith, you know, having being established in truth, having Christ as our focus.

These are very real things to me.

It's not cunningly devised fables, but it's the it's the reality of God's word.

And I think this is why we can we can live why we live, you know, and, God is faithful.

That's fantastic.

I would say also the idea of heaven in the Bible, we can, as Christians, can have an idea of heaven in the sense that when we die, we go and we're in this place called heaven and the earth is left behind and nothing of the earth is going to be in our memory any longer or however we can kind of picture heaven.

We have to look at it from the standpoint of what the Bible talks about in the sense of the earth and heaven.

The original plan was that earth and heaven would be united.

Garden of Eden is heaven on earth.

Unfortunately, it's not gonna be an island and me on a lounge chair on the beach in The Bahamas.

That's not heaven on earth.

Yeah.

But rather heaven on earth is a picture of Eden where God is walking with man on a physical material place called earth.

And we know that we were forced out of Eden because of sin and that Eden was a perfect place.

It was a place of innocence, but that Adam and Eve were kicked out of it.

But as you go through scripture, you have all these pictures of the gateway of heaven, the stairway of heaven.

Great picture with Jacob.

Do you remember when Jacob was fleeing his brother Esau and he was going up to Haran, which is Southern Turkey?

And he was fleeing Esau.

And when he was fleeing, he just, you know, went on the side of the road.

He had to take a little nap, go to sleep, and he went to sleep and he had a dream.

In the Hebrew, there's different words for sleep.

And there's like sleep where we just conk out like I did last night for a few hours and you did.

There's that type of sleep.

And then there's another type of sleep where you have a revelation and it's a dream state.

It's a different consciousness.

It's they had a vision.

And in that vision, he sees a doorway and he sees the doorway, the step ladder up to heaven and at the top of the steps are angels going up and down.

And then he sees God at the top.

And if you look at the Tower Of Babel, the Tower Of Babel was man trying to make his way up to heaven.

Actually, word Babel, Babylon is the Greek rendering of this Hebrew word Babel, but it the word Babel in Hebrew is actually stolen from the Babylonian word, and the Babylonian word means the gates of the gods.

所以，巴别塔就是通往神明的门。

So the Tower Of Babel was the gates to the gods.

因此，这象征着他们建造某种高塔直通天际，因为他们知道神明就在那里，而那里正是通往神明的门户。

So it's a picture of them building some sort of tower up into the heavens because they knew the gods were there and that would be the gateway to the gods.

When Jacob comes and he has that vision, he says, this is the gate to God.

So it's heaven on earth.

That's the picture.

Now it's not in a physical place like Eden, but it's in a transitory state that from a physical viewpoint, you can't see it with your physical senses.

But when he went into that dream state, he went into a different dimension.

It's a dimension where he realized in a spiritual sense is the gateway of God.

So that picture just follows through scripture and then the temple and then the tabernacle and the temple become the entrance into a different dimension called the presence of God.

So the temple was depicted like Eden.

It was depicted as Eden in the internal part of the temple, the inner part of the temple.

It was depiction of the Garden Of Eden because that's where Adam and Eve walked with God.

That was heaven on earth.

And now in the temple, this is a way that man can enter back into the garden, but he has to do it through a sacrifice.

And when he does, it's heaven on earth.

So it's almost like if you have two circles of like the earth and then you have a circle of heaven.

And then at different times in scripture, have the merging of the two, not completely, but in a little sliver or a location called the temple.

But when Christ comes, He says He is the temple.

He is the doorway because He says to Nathaniel in John chapter one, He says to Nathaniel, you're going to see great things.

You're going to see the Son of Man and angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man.

Referencing back to Jacob's dream of the ladder of heaven on earth.

And He says to His disciple, You're going to see that I am the gateway to heaven and earth, that I am the way.

And then He teaches His disciples, this is how I want you to pray.

我们在天上的父，愿人都尊你的名为圣，愿你的国降临，愿你的旨意行在地上，如同行在天上。

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name, kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

所以祂的意思是，祷告应当祈求天堂与大地的融合临到地上。

So He's saying the prayer should be that the merging of heaven and earth should come to earth.

So in the Old Testament, had just one location called the temple where heaven and earth met.

But now through Christ, when you receive Christ, that heaven comes internally into the believer.

So heaven now comes to earth through individuals around the world.

So little pockets of heaven are now taking over the planet in believers, and then ultimately in the church.

This is why Paul talks about the church being a temple, right?

Doesn't he say that we're all members of the temple and that we're all fitly framed together in the book of Ephesians?

Like, what is he talking about?

He's talking about a community of believers that have the kingdom of God in them.

当他们借着圣灵在爱与合一中联合时，就成为天国在地上的更大彰显。

When they are united in love and in oneness through the Holy Spirit, they become a bigger manifestation of heaven on earth.

因此，最终在《启示录》中，会有新天新地，而我们就是这新创造，将天国与大地在物质世界上融合在一起。

So ultimately in the book of Revelation, there's a new heaven and new earth, and we are that new creation that brings the merger of heaven and earth on a physical planet.

So like heaven isn't I'm going to die and then I'm going to go away.

这似乎是一种缥缈的概念。

And it's some sort of ethereal idea.

The idea is that no, heaven is right now and I'm living my life in that kingdom, but it's not physical, it's spiritual by faith, Hebrews 11.

But there will be one day that the merger of those two will come.

Heaven and earth will be one and we'll be ruling and reigning on this physical planet.

Yeah.

A new heaven, a new Jerusalem.

A new heaven and a new earth.

So I just think that, and this is why I think scripture is so important.

And if I could spend my life just understanding wisdom in the scripture, I'm preparing myself for the kingdom of God of how I will function once I'm walking in that physical city.

I'm walking in that reality today and I want to learn the wisdom of how that kingdom and that city operate.

And I want to operate it in today so that when I go home to be with the Lord, I'm very mature in the wisdom of how the kingdom of God operates.

Yeah.

And I would say even in keeping in theme with what we're talking about this morning, that if we don't understand the end goal, right, which is our physical entrance into eternity, but also here while we're here on Earth.

If we don't understand that our final destination, then we're not gonna live our lives in a way that would prepare ourselves for that final destination.

Right?

If we had decided that the most important thing for me to do on this earth is to become famous, then I'm missing the boat completely.

对吧？

Right?

但如果我认定那等待着我的天堂是我生命中最重要的事，

But if I decide that my heaven, which awaits me, is the most important thing in my life Mhmm.

那么我今天就会以你刚才提到的那些现实为我切身的体验来生活。

Then I'm gonna live today with those realities that you just talked about as my very present experience.

So when we're talking about our our walk, you know, and and how does heaven fit into our walk with God or the race, running the race, if we don't know where we're ending up I I saw recently a a video of a man who was running in a marathon, and the lead car took him just a little bit out of the way.

Well, we have to realize that there is a heavenly city.

And that it's we're gonna inhabit this earth as as with him as, you know, based on how we lived our lives in faith with him now, we could be made rulers over cities.

And I don't really care about saying anything new or clever or having some sort of theme in the scripture that people haven't heard, or I don't care about any of that.

And I just said in the message that last summer, I just, I had this vision, not a physical vision, but just a vision in my own heart for time.

And that I'm 44 now.

And, you know, you start thinking, wow, that went really fast.

我知道接下来的20年会过得更快。

And I know the next 20 is going to go even faster.

And I have this time now, and my kids are young, and I'm pastoring a church, but I have time.

And if I had all the time in the world, to be honest, I would probably want to go back to school and go to seminary and just have some Hebrew guy who has studied the book of Genesis for like thirty years teach me.

Because I just see so much value in the Word of God that what we're dealing with here is eternal and it's preparing me and the only way I can mature is to see Christ.

And I see the glories of Christ with understanding the wisdom that's in the scripture.

And the more I see it, the more I'm conformed into that image.

And it just dawned on me, I couldn't if I spent forty hours a week, that probably wouldn't even be enough if God wanted me to do that because, and I don't even care if I preach another message in my life, like I love it, but it's not the point.

更重要的是，我只是想明白神是谁的真相，好预备自己，使我进入那座名为新耶路撒冷的属天之城时，能以足够的成熟与智慧看见基督，这份成熟与智慧将伴随我直到永远。

It's more that I just want to have understanding of the reality of who God is to prepare me so that when I do enter into that physical city called the New Jerusalem, I see Christ, I'll have a level of maturity and wisdom that will be with me for all of eternity.

And all the themes that we're learning in scripture are eternal themes that are on earth.

It's like, okay, chaotic seas, tannin, Garden of Eden, Tabernacle, like what does it all mean?

It's just knowledge.

Yeah, it's just knowledge, but it's a deeper understanding of what those things mean so that when I go to heaven and the scripture is like crystal clear, I'll have some level of understanding because I've used my time on earth to apply that wisdom in my life that has produced some level of spiritual maturity that translates into the next world that will give me some level of authority there.

而这种现实，唯有圣灵才能向我们显明其价值。

And that reality is only the Holy Spirit can show us the value of that.

And I just want to understand that value more.

And if we teach it to other people, just for people to understand, it's not a waste of time.

It's not just words.

It's like people that are fumbling over their words to describe spiritual realities that are so beyond us that we'll see crystal clear one day.

But now the Holy Spirit wants us to learn these things so that we will be prepared when we stand before Christ.

And we just want to hear well done.

we And we're we're gonna hear it like if I'm, you know like some people have this idea, I'm saved, I'm going to heaven, and I'm just gonna coast.

It's just a very simplistic way to look at it.

And if you'll endeavor to live by faith and walk with me in that plan, there's just amazing riches and wealth and there's amazing maturity and understanding of the city that I've prepared for you.

And you will walk in and go, oh my gosh, can you believe the things that God has prepared for us?

几年前，我爸爸在医院见过一个年轻人，他回家后与主同在了。

There was a guy that my dad saw in the hospital a couple years ago that he went home to be with the Lord, and he was young.

他当时五十多岁，我想。

He was in his fifties, I think.

我爸爸说，他只是感到后悔，因为他曾经四处漂泊，陷入各种麻烦中。

And my dad said said that he just had regret that he kind of bounced around and got messed up in different things.

但他是个美好的信徒，他向我爸爸表达了悔意。

But he's a beautiful believer and he just expressed to my dad regret.

有时我会回望自己的童年、青少年时期和二十岁出头的岁月，那时我有那么多时间，那么多精力，现在却觉得，天啊，我把它们浪费在一些琐碎的事情上了。

And sometimes I look back on my childhood, my teen years and early twenties, and I had so much time and I had so much energy and I just feel, oh man, I spent it on kind of silly things.

但这没关系。

But that's okay.

这一切都是神计划的一部分，但也是我自己的选择。

It's all part of God's plan, but my volition.

我觉得在天堂里的遗憾是，我们会回望这一生，说：我本有那么多时间，本可以获得更多智慧。

I feel like the regret in heaven is that we're going to look back on life and say, I had so much time to gain so much more wisdom.

而这种智慧是唯一能带入下一个被称为天堂的现实的东西。

And that wisdom is the only thing that translates into the next reality called heaven.

And God can wake us up.

One thing I'll say is that with wisdom, the more you eat, like my dad preached a message at Eurocon last year, it was so good.

But he said that the more you eat the word, the more you have a hunger for it.

And I so believe that, that the more you're consumed with it, it gives you vitality, it changes you one, and then it gives you a vitality energy that keeps you away from stupidity and waste.

And it's not even hard, it's just that your motivation shifts.

Can I say one last thing?

I know we have to end, but just going back to Holly, and then other people that are dealing with physical ailments.

There's a great JP Moreland, he's a great person to read about consciousness and memory and talking about people going home to the view with the Lord.

But as soon as you go home to be with the Lord, and we know to be absent from the bodies to be present with the Lord immediately, as soon as you leave this car, then you're who you are in your soul.

It's just the body and the brain can't bring it out and express it in this physical world.

But we know that those people that are losing maybe through Alzheimer's or dementia or just physical ailments, they're losing the faculty to express, but they're in there more alive than ever.

And as soon as they leave that body, I believe you don't forget anything.

I just have a very strong belief in that, especially the word, it will not return void.

So everything that's implanted in that person is there.

And then as soon as they leave, they're going to be known fully and completely, and they're gonna see Christ.

And everything that's been installed in them is not in vain.

It will be expressed in heaven.

We are anointed.

我们有服事他人的使命。

We have a ministry to other people.

我们与神同行，终有一天要面对面见祂的面。

We have a walk with God, and one day we're gonna be in his presence face to face.

不要忽视弟兄姐妹在基督里的聚集，因为那就是会幕。

And don't neglect the gathering of brothers and sisters in Christ because that is the tabernacle.

当我们参加聚会时，有时神的灵就在那里，我们会说这是地上的天堂。

And when we're in conferences, sometimes the spirit of God is there and we say this is heaven on earth.

我们这样说，因为这确实是天上的一部分降临在地上。

And we say that because that is a piece of heaven on earth.

And you get it in the community of believers.
