We are taking a dive into daily challenges today.

Speaker 0

Today, we got a challenging one for you.

Speaker 0

Myself, my name is Jesse, I believe.

Speaker 0

And this is Zane.

Speaker 0

大家好

Hello.

Speaker 0

Zane, we're back at it.

Speaker 0

So this is our, like, couple weeks now.

Speaker 0

I took a little hiatus one day, but we've been going on it for, like, a Yeah.

Speaker 0

Month and a half, two.

Speaker 0

We're starting to find our flow

Speaker 1

and The rhythm.

Speaker 0

没错

Yeah.

Speaker 0

And, enjoying it.

Speaker 0

We're just having we just wanna have a good time today.

Speaker 0

I think that's the overall, mood that we're feeling like.

Speaker 0

We just wanna have a good time.

Speaker 0

So the today's topic, well, this week's topic is inerrancy of scripture.

Speaker 0

And then we have the topic of did Jesus believe the Bible is without error is our topic, for today.

Speaker 0

So, nice little question.

Speaker 0

Zane, if you wanna lead us off here Yeah.

Speaker 0

And we'll get started.

Speaker 0

Have some fun.

Speaker 0

行不?

Okay?

Speaker 1

好的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Alright.

Speaker 1

I'll try.

Speaker 1

Do my best.

Speaker 1

好的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

We're talking about the Bible.

Speaker 1

I love talking about the Bible, man.

Speaker 1

没错

Yeah.

Speaker 1

We're talking about the Bible.

Speaker 1

We're talking about the Bible.

Speaker 0

Yes, we are.

Speaker 1

I love talking about the Bible.

Speaker 1

You know, it's such an it's such a gift to us from God.

Speaker 1

True.

Speaker 1

It's the the lamp unto our feet.

Speaker 1

It's the light unto our path.

Speaker 1

It's the food that we eat that we take in and it, rejoices our soul.

Speaker 1

You know, it enlightens our eyes.

Speaker 1

It makes us wise unto salvation.

Speaker 1

It gives us thoughts and meditations throughout our day, through our life.

Speaker 1

It sets our foundation in this world that is like, you know, there's the waves are tossed to and fro in the world, but the Bible sets us on a rock that is higher than I.

Speaker 1

And it's Christ and it's His Word and it's His truth.

Speaker 1

And the Bible is an amazing thing.

Speaker 1

Was just thinking about I love thinking about the Israelites in the wilderness and they had the manna.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

It says that they made they boiled it, they collected it, they made cakes out of it.

Speaker 1

They made tortillas with it.

Speaker 1

They made a salad with it.

Speaker 1

Like, they they had the manna.

Speaker 1

That's all they had.

Speaker 0

Did you say salad?

Speaker 1

I don't know.

Speaker 1

They had a I don't know if they had salad there, but they had the manna, you know, and and they had to find different ways to enjoy it.

Speaker 1

And that's the same thing with the Bible, you know, is that, we have the Word and there's different ways that we consume it.

Speaker 1

We have our devotional life.

Speaker 1

We have a Bible verse or a promise that we take into our day.

Speaker 1

We have a Bible verse that becomes a prayer.

Speaker 1

We have a Bible verse that could correct us.

Speaker 1

And then we have church services where we hear a message from the Bible, where, where there's cross reference, where there's a theme or an exegesis, going into the text, like studying a little deeper, you know?

Speaker 1

So the Bible takes all those different forms, in how we consume it.

Speaker 1

We listen to it.

Speaker 1

We read it.

Speaker 1

We pray with the Bible.

Speaker 1

We get on our knees.

Speaker 1

We live by it.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

Joshua fifteen twenty four.

Speaker 1

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

So we we it governs our life.

Speaker 1

You know.

Speaker 1

Jesus used the Bible in his hour of temptation.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

Matthew four, he said, it is written.

Speaker 1

It is written.

Speaker 1

It is written.

Speaker 1

Jesus also quoted the Bible in the time of his greatest suffering on the cross.

Speaker 1

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

Speaker 1

Into your hands I commit my spirit, quoting from Psalm 31.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

So it was in His trial of temptation.

Speaker 1

It was in the time of suffering.

Speaker 1

He used it to teach people.

Speaker 1

He used it to sing in Matthew 26.

Speaker 1

They sang before they went to the Mount Of Olives.

Speaker 1

Same with us.

Speaker 1

We use the Bible to sing and to praise God and to rejoice.

Speaker 1

We address one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.

Speaker 1

It fills our mouth, it fills our heart and it fills our mind.

Speaker 1

It's the Bible.

Speaker 1

It's great.

Speaker 1

We love it.

Speaker 1

It's the source of our life.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

So that's a little bit about the Bible.

Speaker 1

But the question that we have is that, did Jesus think the Bible was without error?

Speaker 1

That's a big one.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

That gets a lot of people, I think.

Speaker 1

Is the Bible are there any errors in the Bible?

Speaker 1

So a couple questions I have, like what how do people see that the Bible has error?

Speaker 1

What errors would there be?

Speaker 1

Because maybe some people they find a, what seems like a contradiction.

Speaker 1

So they say the Bible is without error.

Speaker 1

The Bible has an error because it contradicts itself.

Speaker 0

So cause it says one thing here and then another thing there?

Speaker 0

对

Yeah.

Speaker 0

Contradiction.

Speaker 1

Contradiction.

Speaker 1

So that's one thing that people might try to find a contradiction.

Speaker 1

Another thing that people might try to find is a historical inaccuracy.

Speaker 1

Maybe something to do with the dates of a historical event.

Speaker 1

Numbers, Yeah.

Speaker 1

Like a king.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

The numbers, like do the numbers add up with how many people returned?

Speaker 1

Or what year do the secularists say that the King of Persia was in the May?

Speaker 1

And then what does the Bible say?

Speaker 1

You know, so historically, is the Bible a historically accurate book?

Speaker 1

That's another way that people might pick and prod at the Bible.

Speaker 1

Is it accurate?

Speaker 1

Another way is in the sense of creation.

Speaker 1

Now in Ecclesiastes, there's a brief description of the process of precipitation, Right?

Speaker 1

King Solomon is writing about precipitation, how it felt like rain falls from the sky and then it goes into a river and It's then the river the cycle of precipitation or something.

Speaker 1

Is that?

Speaker 1

Okay.

Speaker 0

I don't know.

Speaker 1

But but Solomon is writing about it.

Speaker 1

What if he gets it wrong?

Speaker 1

Then people say like, he got

Speaker 0

it Oh, yeah.

Speaker 0

Oh, the scientists would be so so on top of

Speaker 1

that.

Speaker 1

In Isaiah, there's actually a there's actually a Bible verse where Isaiah refers to the earth as a sphere.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

He and that's before we had all of the scientific capabilities to kind of see that our world is actually around a sphere and oval, oval shaped.

Speaker 0

Yeah, you

Speaker 1

got it.

Speaker 1

22.5 degree axis facing away from the sun in the summer, in the winter facing towards the sun in the summer.

Speaker 1

Now we have so much technology to prove, you know, the sun is actually a sphere, an oval.

Speaker 1

But in Isaiah, he refers to it as a sphere.

Speaker 1

Think it's in chapter 40.

Speaker 1

I might be wrong.

Speaker 1

But so that's another way.

Speaker 1

So contradictions historically inaccurate based on creation, precipitation cycle, or the earth is a sphere.

Speaker 1

And the other one that I was thinking, prophecy.

Speaker 1

Is prophecy fulfilled or could prophecy be incorrectly fulfilled or not fulfilled at all?

Speaker 1

So these are a couple of things that maybe, maybe certain people would pick and prod at to discover if the Bible is inaccurate or not, or if it's accurate.

Speaker 1

So those are a couple of things that that people might say.

Speaker 1

Do you have anything or do you want you want me to keep going?

Speaker 0

No.

Speaker 0

I mean, if you want to kind of keep going, but I mean, I'm just like, you know, today we're talking about like the Jesus find error in it, you know, And we're not gonna find specifically, you know, it's like, okay, can I find Jesus says, no, the Bible's out error?

Speaker 0

No.

Speaker 0

But we can support it with many different, points that we'll make today and show you.

Speaker 0

Because the word inerrancy, I believe, didn't come I think it was around the nineteenth century or something like that.

Speaker 0

Like, it wasn't during this time.

Speaker 0

Yeah.

Speaker 0

So and especially nowadays, like, have a modern I don't know.

Speaker 0

We we really just nitpick and conceptualize in our world today, you know?

Speaker 0

But like, you got to think about it how when this was written, you know, at the point of Jesus's time.

Speaker 0

And so there could be a lot of confusion or misunderstanding and misunder misinterpretation just because I cannot relate to or see that.

Speaker 0

Okay, what's going on today?

Speaker 0

You know?

Speaker 0

Because I'm comparing it to what I know now.

Speaker 0

And, and I think that is where we really get in trouble.

Speaker 0

But, hopefully today we'll be able to show you just some few points where we believe that Jesus believes the Bible is without error.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

And if we take a step back and kind of zoom out and just think about this book that we have in front of us, that we have, we have two sections.

Speaker 1

We have an Old Testament and we have a New Testament.

Speaker 1

Now the Old Testament is chronicling the history of the Jewish people.

Speaker 1

And that's the first five books are written by Moses, right?

Speaker 1

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers, Deuteronomy.

Speaker 1

These first five books are written by Moses.

Speaker 1

And that is already after several hundred years, more than four hundred years of the Jewish nation existing, starting from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Speaker 1

Genesis 12 is when God calls Abraham.

Speaker 1

Now Moses has some amazing insight into the time period before the patriarchs.

Speaker 1

He has insight, we believe this from God directly that Moses received this insight from God while he was on the Mount Of Mount Sinai in some capacity that God relayed to him this pre patriarchal period where Adam and Eve, the serpent in the garden, the seven days of creation, the Noah's flood, Seth, Cain, Abel, Enoch, you know, all of these figures that came before Abraham, which are found in Genesis one to 11.

Speaker 1

But then the nation of Israel, they go into Egypt, they grow into a nation, they come out of Egypt and they have this meeting with God on Mount Sinai where God calls them His people and they are kind of married.

Speaker 1

Like it's like the marriage of Israel and God, right?

Speaker 1

Like they're joined together as a nation and a God.

Speaker 1

And then Moses writes this book.

Speaker 1

And this book, these first five books were meant to govern the people of Israel as they were in the wilderness on their way to the promised land.

Speaker 1

And then when they settled in the promised land, these five books would govern their daily life.

Speaker 1

So these five books are made up of the laws, six thirteen laws, 10 commandments, sacrificial laws, agricultural laws, you know, civic laws, how they should farm their land, how they should operate with one another and how they should operate, in relation to God.

Speaker 1

So these are the first five books, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy.

Speaker 1

So, so that's like one section.

Speaker 1

And then we move into Joshua, Judges, Ruth, and this is where finally the people of Israel are entering into the promised land.

Speaker 1

And then we get to, you know, the Kings, first Samuel, second Samuel, first Kings, second Kings, and we start to see this nation developing.

Speaker 1

And at the same time as these kings, we could go through the whole history, it might be too long, but, at the time of these kings, they they start writing more of a chronological, chronological storytelling of what happened with these Kings and the people.

Speaker 1

Now, now the first five books are mostly made up of laws, but then the books following are historical books, which, which tell the story of the Kings and the people and the priests and the prophets.

Speaker 1

And then we have another smaller section towards the end, made up of, of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Amos, all these prophets that minister to the Kings.

Speaker 1

So this is a big question.

Speaker 1

And we spent so much time going over that because this is what Jesus would have had reference to.

Speaker 1

The question that we're talking about today, did Jesus think that the Bible was without error?

Speaker 1

Now what Bible was Jesus reading and referring to but the Old Testament?

Speaker 0

没错。

Correct.

Speaker 1

对的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

These 39 books written over several hundred years, thousands of years that Jesus had studied, that He had learned, that He had memorized and that He would use in His ministry.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

So these are the, these are the books and the quotations and the prophets and the Psalms that Jesus would reference, believe and use in His ministry.

Speaker 1

So that's kind of a little background.

Speaker 1

Our question is not so much did Jesus believe in the New Testament, but did He believe in the Old Testament?

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

And what did He say if anything about the writings that were to come?

Speaker 1

Did he believe that those were without error?

Speaker 0

对的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

You know?

Speaker 0

Well, I think the first of those are amazing points too as well you hit.

Speaker 0

I think maybe the first point like the historical part of it, Jesus referenced many times right to the Old Testament.

Speaker 0

We see in Matthew twenty four thirty seven and twelve forty, Jesus is referencing, Noah and Jonah as historical, people.

Speaker 0

You know, it's not a fake fairy tale or whatnot.

Speaker 0

Like, he actually referenced them in, in the New Testament in his time here.

Speaker 0

So for him to just even reference that to pull from a historical from the Old Testament is really his he's really approving that, you know, this is real.

Speaker 0

Like, this is true.

Speaker 0

I'm making a serious point here about both of these men, you know, and and so I'm going to go use historical data.

Speaker 0

So and that's huge.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

And that's a, that's an interesting point that, that you kind of bring up in Matthew 12, because when Jesus does quote that, it's interesting that, you know, He's quoting, he said twelve forty, right?

Speaker 1

Let's just read that really quickly and kind of get, get a little context.

Speaker 1

For as just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, So will the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth?

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

So there he's referencing, Jonah.

Speaker 1

And then in the next couple of verses in verse 42, He says, The Queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it.

Speaker 1

For she came with the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon and behold something greater than Solomon is here.

Speaker 1

So that there's an amazing thing that Jesus is quoting, from Jonah about Jonah and about Solomon.

Speaker 1

And he's saying that a greater prophet than Jonah has come and a greater king than Solomon has come.

Speaker 1

You know, so Jesus is quoting about the old, but he's also giving reference to himself at the same time saying that I am actually a greater one to fulfill not only the role of a priest, a prophet, and a King, but I am the priest, the prophet, and the King that was spoken about.

Speaker 1

So that is an amazing portion there as well.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

And then in the beginning of Matthew 12, that's where he references the priests, you know.

Speaker 1

So so there you have the Jesus as the greater priest, greater Jesus as the greater prophet, and then Jesus as the greater king in Matthew chapter 12.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

And twelve three, he's referencing David now.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

你

You

Speaker 0

know, and talking about when he ate the Sheba bread too as well.

Speaker 0

So, you know, one is his story.

Speaker 0

He uses historical evidence of people.

Speaker 0

Then maybe the second point we could do, he always brings up scripture from the Old Testament.

Speaker 0

And you kind of mentioned that, you know, previously.

Speaker 0

Maybe we can hit on a few points of those.

Speaker 0

Like, where did he pull from the Old Testament, the law, the book, the Torah, whatever it was, where did he use that?

Speaker 0

Like, yeah, and that's showing just like how important it is and just like how it is without error in a way.

Speaker 1

对

Yeah.

Speaker 1

And something that you brought up before we started the show was from Matthew five that Jesus says, you know, Jesus says, do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets, but I have come to fulfill them.

Speaker 1

And then he says in Matthew five eighteen, For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass away from the law until all is accomplished.

Speaker 1

So Jesus is saying there, even the smallest stroke of the pen will not pass away.

Speaker 1

So even the placement of the comma, the placement of the dot, you know, the crossing of the T, everything will be fulfilled to perfectly.

Speaker 1

So Jesus believed that the law was perfect and would be fulfilled perfectly in that verse.

Speaker 1

And He said, I, He is the one that's going to fulfill it.

Speaker 1

And then another place in John ten thirty five, Jesus also says something about the law that's very important about the scripture.

Speaker 1

And he says, in John ten thirty five, if he called them gods to whom the word of God came and scripture cannot be broken.

Speaker 1

So he said, and scripture cannot be broken.

Speaker 1

It will never be broken.

Speaker 0

That's kinda closed about the error

Speaker 1

没错。

thing Yeah.

Speaker 1

It can't be broken.

Speaker 0

It can't be broken.

Speaker 0

Jesus said it.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

So I believe it.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Wow.

Speaker 1

Scripture cannot be broken.

Speaker 1

And your question was, what what did Jesus say from the law?

Speaker 1

From the multi.

Speaker 1

对。

Yep.

Speaker 1

So in, I think, one of the most notable we'll read this one, and it's one of the most notable ones

Speaker 0

in Luke's test you on this one.

Speaker 0

Where where did he that's he's pulling from scripture there.

Speaker 0

Do you know where?

Speaker 1

哦。

Oh.

Speaker 1

Scripture cannot be broken.

Speaker 1

I think I have an idea, but I No.

Speaker 0

It's like when he was referencing if he called them gods.

Speaker 0

Oh, yes.

Speaker 0

To whom the word It's

Speaker 1

in Psalms.

Speaker 0

Yes, sir.

Speaker 1

It's in Psalms.

Speaker 0

Come on.

Speaker 1

I think I don't I don't know.

Speaker 1

我……

I don't

Speaker 0

know.

Speaker 0

Give me like a

Speaker 1

range.

Speaker 1

我

I

Speaker 0

have a

Speaker 1

feeling that it's like it's either in the fifties or the eighties.

Speaker 1

Eighties.

Speaker 1

Eighties?

Speaker 1

I think it's

Speaker 0

think it's 82.

Speaker 1

Go ahead.

Speaker 1

I'm double.

Speaker 1

That was good.

Speaker 1

Bro, got some age.

Speaker 1

Amen.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

So we were talking about Luke four is one of the most notable ones, where Jesus is in the he's in the synagogue on the Sabbath, He stands up to read.

Speaker 1

And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to He unrolled it and found the place where I was written.

Speaker 1

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor, set me to proclaim liberty to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.

Speaker 1

And then He rolls up the scroll.

Speaker 1

And He says in verse 21, Today, this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing, that He is the one that's coming to fulfill that scripture.

Speaker 1

And from Isaiah 61.

Speaker 1

One of the things that I do appreciate about Jesus and the the way that he quote quoted the scriptures, he he he never really gave I mean, maybe he did, but frequently he gave the the author of the book.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

But he didn't give exactly where it was from.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

You know?

Speaker 1

He said, how didn't you haven't you heard that it has been said?

Speaker 1

对的。

Correct.

Speaker 1

Or like, have you not read?

Speaker 1

You know?

Speaker 1

对

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Have you not read the prophet Isaiah or the Psalm, you know?

Speaker 1

Out of the mouth of babes, there will be praise proclaimed, you know?

Speaker 1

So he's saying, we're like, have you heard it read?

Speaker 1

And I like that because it's not really about like exactly the place, but it's about the spirit of the word, the heart of God and the accuracy that he quoted it with.

Speaker 1

对的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

So I think that's amazing.

Speaker 1

That kind of encourages me when I don't know Psalm 89.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

But you had it.

Speaker 1

We know it.

Speaker 1

You know?

Speaker 1

We know

Speaker 0

the word.

Speaker 0

But that's true.

Speaker 0

I mean, because, right, all these just, you know, chapters and just the way the you know, it's all broken up wasn't there really before.

Speaker 0

It's Yeah.

Speaker 0

More for us to kinda understand and better to Yeah.

Speaker 0

You know, recognize stuff like that.

Speaker 0

But, yeah, there's a great point.

Speaker 0

Like Jesus just said, you know, haven't you read?

Speaker 0

Haven't you known?

Speaker 0

Because who he's speaking to Yeah.

Speaker 0

You know, knowing that context is like these guys lived it.

Speaker 0

Right?

Speaker 0

The the Pharisees, Sadducees, people, of Israel, Jerusalem at the time, wherever he was, like, they have definitely heard the word because the word was kind of surrounding this area.

Speaker 0

A lot of Old Testament figures and whatnot, but everybody knew who, you know, Abraham was, Isaac was.

Speaker 0

And so and these points that you're making too as well, like, when he's saying just like I I didn't come to demolish the the law or the prophets, but I've come to fulfill them.

Speaker 0

That's just like hit me just in a a precious way.

Speaker 0

Just like, you know, without Jesus, like the Old Testament is just kind of another book, but it's Jesus is actually in the Old Testament.

Speaker 0

And then for him to come now in the New Testament at this time, he's actually fulfilling it in a way because, it all points to him.

Speaker 0

And so without Jesus, you know, I feel like there could there would be a lot of error probably in the But Jesus is he's the one and he's the one that put it all together.

Speaker 0

And he is the word and, right?

Speaker 0

John one.

Speaker 0

对的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

In the beginning was a word and the word was with God.

Speaker 0

And so like he is a word and he's actually coming down, you know?

Speaker 0

And and I think there's a point where was it that maybe I just want to make is a misinterpretation.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

So that's in Matthew 22.

Speaker 0

I think this is a big one.

Speaker 0

So he said, what did we first say?

Speaker 0

We said history.

Speaker 0

对。

Yep.

Speaker 0

Right?

Speaker 0

Historically, he he he points it out.

Speaker 0

And then he brings scripture.

Speaker 0

He quotes scripture, and we said a few points on there, and there's probably more we can, point after.

Speaker 0

But then in Matthew 22, I think it's just understanding the scripture is a huge one.

Speaker 0

And I think this is where we could start saying, oh, this is what error doesn't work for me because I'm I don't understand in a way, you know?

Speaker 0

And, we all have to start somewhere like babes.

Speaker 0

And, for me, I struggled with it a lot.

Speaker 0

Like, would, you know, open up to Genesis like a normal book and start reading.

Speaker 0

And then I'm getting to these names.

Speaker 0

And then I'm like, what?

Speaker 0

Oh, what am I doing here?

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

What am I doing?

Speaker 0

Why these names?

Speaker 0

These names are unique.

Speaker 0

I don't even hear them anymore, you know?

Speaker 0

So and I can't even pronounce them, and I still can't these days.

Speaker 0

But then I get frustrated, you know, and because I I don't understand.

Speaker 0

And those are important for a reason, but there's a way to be taught it.

Speaker 0

Like you said, there's different ways we can learn of it, you know, scripture, our own verse we we have in the morning devotional at church, whatever it is, there's different ways we could really utilize the Bible and it could impact our lives.

Speaker 0

Podcast.

Speaker 1

Hello.

Speaker 0

Where are we at?

Speaker 0

Matthew twenty two twenty.

Speaker 0

Tim Tebow with the John three Tim Tebow.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yep.

Speaker 0

And that's such a good point.

Speaker 0

I mean, there was like a record breaking amount of people who looked up the scripture.

Speaker 0

Yep.

Speaker 0

Because the sky has eye black.

Speaker 0

Yeah.

Speaker 0

Another one recently with the, you know, her whole Kirk the Charlie Kirk thing.

Speaker 0

I mean, I'm having so many different people that I hear different churches that I've talked to that there's been a big actual push because of that.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

People are now actually searching more because of that.

Speaker 0

Amazing.

Speaker 0

Wow.

Speaker 0

Yeah.

Speaker 0

It's incredible.

Speaker 0

But the God it's the living word.

Speaker 0

It's just like this is such a unique book.

Speaker 0

It could be just placed on your eye black and it could there's power in it.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

In a way.

Speaker 1

有

There

Speaker 0

is.

Speaker 0

We could just quote it in the atmosphere and there's power in a way.

Speaker 0

Utilize it, you know, or just even listening to it too as well.

Speaker 0

Same kind of thing.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

It brings a lot.

Speaker 1

Mean, do you when when sorry.

Speaker 1

I I know I interrupted.

Speaker 1

No.

Speaker 1

We're good.

Speaker 1

I'm coming back there.

Speaker 1

I I I got it right now so far.

Speaker 1

If you ever walk I don't know.

Speaker 1

Recently, I've just been walking around my house and just like speaking out loud and like praising God.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

And it's been so powerful.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yes.

Speaker 1

I'm sure my wife is like, Zane, be quiet.

Speaker 1

But it's just praise you, God.

Speaker 1

Thank you.

Speaker 1

Thank you, Jesus.

Speaker 1

You know?

Speaker 1

And then quote a verse like for for you you have died and your life is hid with Christ and God.

Speaker 1

Just quoting the Bible, thinking about it, praising God, praying.

Speaker 1

There's power in the word.

Speaker 1

没错

Yes.

Speaker 1

There's power.

Speaker 1

Prayer.

Speaker 1

God will put someone on my heart and pray for them.

Speaker 1

Think about them.

Speaker 1

Just hallelujah.

Speaker 1

Thank you, Lord.

Speaker 0

That's true.

Speaker 1

Amazing.

Speaker 1

I mean, it's it brings something up.

Speaker 1

It, like, stirs something up inside of us when we do that.

Speaker 0

It does.

Speaker 1

I believe it.

Speaker 0

对的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

I think ministers who maybe the angels around us too as well, like, they're like, hey.

Speaker 1

Come on.

Speaker 0

You know?

Speaker 0

And then the you know, the demons flee opposite from them.

Speaker 0

So, but my my word won't return void, you know,

Speaker 1

kind of thing.

Speaker 0

It's just like yeah.

Speaker 0

Just throw it out there.

Speaker 0

You know?

Speaker 0

It's kinda like a, fishing.

Speaker 0

Just throw the the other thing out there.

Speaker 0

You know?

Speaker 0

One time I caught a huge bass and on a piece of bread, and then they they yeah.

Speaker 0

The log bread, like stale log bread.

Speaker 0

That wonder bread folds nicely around the hook.

Speaker 1

It was the bleach.

Speaker 1

They were like, I want the bleach.

Speaker 1

They smelled it.

Speaker 1

No.

Speaker 1

It's unbleached.

Speaker 0

Oh, jeez.

Speaker 0

But no.

Speaker 0

Like, it's yeah.

Speaker 0

It's a word.

Speaker 0

Just throw it out there.

Speaker 0

And, like like with the Richmond, when we're going to Richmond, those bible verses.

Speaker 0

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 0

How many times are like people just pick out a we give them random bible verse and they pick and they look and they read.

Speaker 0

And I see so many times, like, it ministers to them, you know, or they needed it.

Speaker 1

And you never know what's gonna stick with you.

Speaker 1

对

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

Like, sometimes you'll remember something like ten years ago and you're like, why did that stick with me?

Speaker 1

Why do I remember that verse that that person showed me?

Speaker 1

You know, because I have memories of learning a Bible verse from, you know, pastor Shal or pastor Matt Garrett or, you know, some like fellowshipping and like you you preached on a verse in Richmond.

Speaker 1

I was like, I remember that verse from that message.

Speaker 1

Wow.

Speaker 1

It's the work of the spirit, you know?

Speaker 1

So like you're saying, Ecclesiastes 11, cast your bread upon many waters, like give a portion to 70, even to eight, because you don't know which one is going to give you a return.

Speaker 1

So that's another way we read the Bible.

Speaker 1

Like just another another verse, another meditation.

Speaker 1

We don't know what's gonna stick.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

But it will.

Speaker 1

And it's not gonna return void.

Speaker 0

Amen.

Speaker 0

And then as you grow in it, it's like, you know, yeah, we have the Holy Spirit too who can teach us.

Speaker 0

We don't need a teacher essentially.

Speaker 0

没错,

Yes.

Speaker 0

We we wanna be under a pastor teacher too as well.

Speaker 0

But as we grow in our walk, you know, and mature, then there's like, I could go around my house just saying the Bible out loud, and it's just me and the Holy Spirit, and it's teaching me and it's feeding me and it's just like such an enjoyment, you know?

Speaker 0

I wonder if I wonder if Jesus did that.

Speaker 0

They would do we have scripture on that?

Speaker 0

I mean, we know he went off to the alone to the father to pray.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Well, we do know this.

Speaker 1

We do know that after the disciples saw Jesus pray, that's when they asked him, Lord, teach us to pray.

Speaker 1

Like John taught his disciples.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

So they saw Jesus praying and there was something about him praying.

Speaker 1

对的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

I think it's Luke 11 where they see Jesus praying and when he's done, they ask him.

Speaker 1

So there's God there was something about his prayer life that they were like, wow.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

I wanna learn that.

Speaker 1

Teach me to pray.

Speaker 1

You know?

Speaker 1

Jesus never forced the disciples to pray either.

Speaker 1

That's another interesting point.

Speaker 1

He never like forced them to pray.

Speaker 1

没错。

Right.

Speaker 1

But they want, they asked Him about it when they saw His prayer life.

Speaker 1

So that says something to us about prayer is that there is an aspect of it that it's powerful and it's like enjoying, It's in like, it's fulfilling, it's satisfying.

Speaker 1

It's it's rejoicing.

Speaker 1

And the disciples saw Jesus do it and they wanted that what they had, what he had.

Speaker 1

You know?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

So it's not a command in that sense, but it's like something that we desire, we want.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

And you don't want it to be a command.

Speaker 0

对的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

You know?

Speaker 0

In a way.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

There's like, I guess, scheduling sometimes.

Speaker 0

Like, yeah, that's fine for to build a habit.

Speaker 0

We talked about that previous podcast.

Speaker 0

But, yeah, just to have it just flow naturally almost and just organically just like wanting to pray like, wow.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

I need to I you know, I heard that your sister your sister mentioned that at, I think, the last service.

Speaker 0

She was singing just said a little just a little word on just her.

Speaker 0

You ever get down on your knees and just like in the kitchen floor or just randomly in the house and just start, you know, praying or praising God, you know, like, love that, you know.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

And it's cool.

Speaker 0

Like, if you ever feel overwhelmed, which many of us can do, feel sometimes probably all the times of the day, you know, it's great to just pause, you know, and just like, you know, go either drop down your knees or, you know, stop thinking what you're thinking about and just like really like

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

Cry out to him, praise him, thank him, whatever is like just, you know, talk with him too.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

And and it brings up a point when you're saying about prayer, but then Jesus on the right the the road to Demaes.

Speaker 0

Right?

Speaker 0

Emmaus.

Speaker 0

Emmaus.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

Damascus, something of, the road to Emmaus where the two disciples are walking, and then he opens up the scripture to them.

Speaker 0

And then they're like, oh, so that's another point.

Speaker 0

Just like Jesus, the word Jesus is the word, and now he's teaching the word.

Speaker 0

Like, I think about heaven and I just that's one thing I think about.

Speaker 0

And I I can't wait to, like, have Jesus teach us like the word of God Himself.

Speaker 1

That's amazing.

Speaker 1

I know.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

Wow.

Speaker 0

Like, oh, I miss so

Speaker 1

much.

Speaker 1

对的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错

Yeah.

Speaker 1

That's true.

Speaker 0

You know.

Speaker 1

But And and Peter says it in in his epistle.

Speaker 1

对的。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

Second Peter one, he's saying that we were eyewitnesses of his majesty on the Mount Of Transfiguration, right?

Speaker 1

Peter, James, and John with Christ when he's transfigured in all of his glory, Like He, it's an unveiling of His glory.

Speaker 1

You know, He's talking with Moses and Elijah, and they're talking about His departure, His Exodus, meaning the cross, you know, they're having this conversation.

Speaker 1

And Peter says in Second Peter, that we saw his we were eyewitnesses of his majesty, but we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed.

Speaker 1

Peter is saying that the Bible, the scripture is more of a proof Beautiful.

Speaker 1

Of Jesus's fulfillment of the scripture, his death, burial, resurrection.

Speaker 1

The Bible, the scripture is more proof than being an eyewitness.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Peter says that.

Speaker 1

We have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, and you will do well to pay attention to it.

Speaker 0

Wow.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

That's amazing.

Speaker 1

What is God's plan for the world?

Speaker 1

This is this is amazing.

Speaker 1

And we'll go back to your to Matthew 22, but It's still there.

Speaker 0

Just plug it in.

Speaker 0

It's holding on.

Speaker 1

And don't forget in Romans.

Speaker 1

Oh Lord Jesus, help me find it.

Speaker 1

Romans.

Speaker 1

Oh man.

Speaker 1

It's the end of one of the chapters, chapter 16 and verse 25.

Speaker 1

Romans sixteen twenty five.

Speaker 1

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and in the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages, but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings, the scriptures, the prophets, the law, the Psalms, has been made known to all nations according to the command of the eternal God.

Speaker 1

So what command did God give?

Speaker 1

But His command was that it would be the scriptures that would reveal the mystery of Christ to the world.

Speaker 1

You know, Christ, he died, he was buried, he was raised, he was ascended, he sat down at the right hand of God, then he sent his Holy Spirit.

Speaker 1

But what does the spirit use to convict the world, but the Word of God?

Speaker 1

You know, He uses the prophetic writings.

Speaker 1

He uses the New Testament, which is an explanation of everything that Christ fulfilled in the Old Testament.

Speaker 1

So this this word is unified.

Speaker 1

It's it's full.

Speaker 1

It's complete, and it's forever settled in heaven.

Speaker 1

Psalm one one nineteen eighty nine.

Speaker 1

Wow.

Speaker 1

You know?

Speaker 1

So I just wanted to interject that that the scripture that God uses to clearly reveal his plan in salvation to the world.

Speaker 1

You know, he he doesn't use like not everybody will get a vision of Christ on the Mount Of Transfiguration, but everyone will have an opportunity to receive by faith the righteousness of Christ.

Speaker 1

And and many, many have given their life to translate this book so that others could have the the full revelation of God's plan.

Speaker 1

Wow.

Speaker 1

So it's the scriptures.

Speaker 1

It's the scriptures.

Speaker 1

Scriptures.

Speaker 1

That's what God wants to use.

Speaker 0

Oh, man.

Speaker 0

I'll say it like, I mean, I think we learned this in apologetics, at Maryland Bible College, but like in the beginning course, you talk about how how do you relate to people?

Speaker 0

Or if you're God, how would you communicate with people?

Speaker 0

And really it's it's through word, through language.

Speaker 0

And that's a one common thing that he could really speak to us all, you know?

Speaker 0

没错

Yeah.

Speaker 0

One day we will all see him.

Speaker 0

Right?

Speaker 0

Everybody will see him.

Speaker 0

Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess.

Speaker 0

But, for him to relate to us and tell us about himself and just yeah.

Speaker 0

And just help us in this, you know, fleeting dying world in a way like he gave us the scripture.

Speaker 0

And, and it's so important, and it's stood the test of time.

Speaker 0

没错

And Yes.

Speaker 0

The point that we're getting back, back to that I've almost forgot, but I brought it back.

Speaker 0

Matthew 22.

Speaker 0

But just, being able to interpret interpret correctly.

Speaker 0

Interpretation.

Speaker 0

The interpretation of the text, the scripture.

Speaker 0

And and Jesus, it was in twenty nine, twenty two, twenty nine.

Speaker 0

He says to the Pharisees, Jesus answered and said unto them, you do air.

Speaker 0

There is that.

Speaker 1

There it is.

Speaker 0

I brought that up earlier.

Speaker 0

I was like,

Speaker 1

where did I find it?

Speaker 1

I was just reading.

Speaker 0

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

You do you do air not knowing the scripture nor the power of God.

Speaker 0

And you can read that whole text.

Speaker 0

But he's really just saying just like, yeah, you know that these guys know the scriptures.

Speaker 0

They've they've read it.

Speaker 0

They studied it their whole lives.

Speaker 0

But he's saying you're misinterpreted.

Speaker 0

You're not getting it right, you know.

Speaker 0

And we could do that so much, you know, and a lot of us do.

Speaker 0

I mean, even I, you know, I still do sometimes, and I gotta kind of Yeah.

Speaker 0

I love, you know, in acts when Paul's teaching, that there's a group of men and they wanna go to the scripture to make sure he's right.

Speaker 0

And it's the same kind of thing as you grow.

Speaker 0

Like, you wanna make sure whoever's teaching you is right.

Speaker 0

You wanna make sure as you're diving into the word yourself, whether you're pulling from, you know, online sources or pastors you listen to, are they correct?

Speaker 0

I wanna search it in the scriptures.

Speaker 0

Can I find it in multiple areas?

Speaker 0

Can I, you know, find it, go back to the first word, the first mention of that word, and dive into the text, you know?

Speaker 0

And so these are different ways that we could help better understand the scriptures, because there's many what applications, one interpretation.

Speaker 0

对的

Yes.

Speaker 0

That's a good teaching that we have here.

Speaker 0

Many application.

Speaker 0

I can apply the Bible many times and we'll have wonderful pastors here and around the world that do that do have great, you know, application.

Speaker 0

But there is one really interpretation.

Speaker 0

How is it interpreted?

Speaker 0

And Jesus is pointing out to these guys.

Speaker 0

Now these these men of the word really, And he's saying you do air not knowing the scriptures.

Speaker 1

对的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错

Yeah.

Speaker 1

是这样

Yeah.

Speaker 1

That's good.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

Wow.

Speaker 0

And so like how we could get things wrong.

Speaker 0

I think it's like a think about it like this.

Speaker 0

Alright?

Speaker 0

Jesus sent us one long text message.

Speaker 0

God sent us a text.

Speaker 0

It's the Bible.

Speaker 0

And what what happens is a text all the time.

Speaker 0

Misinterpret it.

Speaker 0

We then it's like the person didn't mean they're like, no, you got it all wrong.

Speaker 0

You're misinterpreted.

Speaker 0

Like, you're going way too into it.

Speaker 0

Like, take a step back and breathe.

Speaker 0

But it's just like, yeah, I think of it as a text.

Speaker 0

Like sometimes you send a text and someone misinterprets But then that's because it's like text is not, I guess, personal personable or, you know, kind of you're separate.

Speaker 0

It's through a machine.

Speaker 0

As in, like, now I'm saying, like, it's rather now I'm going to the word of God with a relationship with Christ.

Speaker 0

I have a relationship and he's kind of teaching me and we're communing and fellowshipping together.

Speaker 0

I think that is like a huge a huge thing, you know?

Speaker 1

对的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错

Yeah.

Speaker 1

You that's how I like that verse.

Speaker 1

You like you air.

Speaker 1

You need to hear that.

Speaker 1

对

Yeah.

Speaker 1

It's and I and I I welcome it because Correct.

Speaker 1

We wanna be accurate.

Speaker 1

We wanna be doctrinally correct with what with what God has given us.

Speaker 1

And I like that point you said that there are many applications, but there's one interpretation.

Speaker 1

So it's important to find the interpretation of the scripture.

Speaker 1

But a good, a great starting point is that the Bible has no air and it's without air.

Speaker 1

And that is an objective fact in one sense, but it also takes faith to arrive at that conclusion.

Speaker 1

It can be proven, right?

Speaker 1

Psalm twelve:seven, I believe it says that the Bible is tried, like the word is tried by fire, Like seven times in a furnace, it's tried.

Speaker 1

It's tried.

Speaker 1

It's tried.

Speaker 1

Proverbs 30 verse five, it says that every word of God is pure.

Speaker 1

Every word of God is true.

Speaker 1

And it's a shield and a and a buckler to all those who trust him.

Speaker 1

Psalm eighteen thirty, it says, As for God, His way is perfect and His word is tried.

Speaker 1

So the Bible, it's self proclaimed to be the only perfect word, the only perfect, text.

Speaker 1

It's objectively true in that sense that you can go throughout the history, you can put a microscope on the contradictions, you can go back to science and the creation and you can study it and the Bible still proves true.

Speaker 1

You can study all the prophecies that have been fulfilled even in the life of Christ and you'll find that they have come to pass.

Speaker 1

And you can prove all these things, but at the end of the day, it still takes faith to believe and to put your trust in it.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

And Jesus says here, you are wrong because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God.

Speaker 1

And when we put faith in the scriptures is when we receive the power of God in Hebrews four:two, right?

Speaker 1

They, they, weren't able to enter the land because of unbelief and they didn't mix faith with what they heard.

Speaker 1

But when we do mix faith with what we hear, God is pleased and there's power there.

Speaker 1

There is life there.

Speaker 1

So I love that point about the misinterpretation.

Speaker 1

And that is another point that we want to get right.

Speaker 1

So yeah, Jesus says in Matthew five eighteen, that not a dot or iota of the law will pass away until it is all fulfilled.

Speaker 1

John ten thirty five, he says the scriptures cannot be broken.

Speaker 1

John one fourteen, the word became flesh.

Speaker 1

Jesus is the word.

Speaker 1

Revelation nineteen thirteen.

Speaker 1

His name is called the Word of God.

Speaker 1

That's His name, the Word of God.

Speaker 1

In Matthew five seventeen, He is the one that fulfills it.

Speaker 1

So we have these verses that are showing and explaining that Jesus saw the Word as pure and perfect and that He is the Word.

Speaker 1

And in Matthew 2four 35, His words is maybe like the last category, it's His words.

Speaker 1

Matthew 2four 35 says, heaven and earth will pass away, but my words by no means will pass away.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

My words are spirit and life.

Speaker 1

In John six sixty three, my words are spirit and they are life.

Speaker 1

So Jesus has the words of eternal life.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

John six sixty eight, Peter recognizes that.

Speaker 1

So not only does Jesus live by every word of God in Matthew four four, He is the word.

Speaker 1

He knows the word of the Old Testament, but He's also speaking new words and new life that give us life.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

Like He's in He's not like like, yeah, maybe you were saying in the beginning, like, just like with errors, grammatically Yeah.

Speaker 0

Numerology or numerically Yeah.

Speaker 0

Either different, you know, viewpoints, you know, contradictions, all these things.

Speaker 0

But really the Bible is the only thing without error.

Speaker 0

And, you know, it just because there's something like that, numerically or whatnot, it's just like, okay, does it take away from the core of it?

Speaker 0

I think that is a huge thing.

Speaker 0

Does it take away from the doctrine of it?

Speaker 0

Because there's maybe a number that's different.

Speaker 0

And we don't know, you know?

Speaker 0

But no, it doesn't take away from like the ultimate value of what it truly is.

Speaker 0

And, you know, in Revelation twenty two nineteen, he says, if any man shall take away from the words of this book of this prophecy of Revelation, God shall take away his park out of the book of life.

Speaker 0

And I just really I think about that.

Speaker 0

I'm like, if God can uphold the world and create it and keep us together, you know, and, keep the church together, keep the people of Israel together and and do all these things, can he not also keep the word of God from falling apart or having a lot of error or separating or being manipulated in the fact?

Speaker 0

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

I think he he he can do that easily, you know, cause he is God.

Speaker 0

And yeah, this is a beautiful topic and there, you know, there's so many other things we could point about.

Speaker 0

But maybe do you want to share a last thought or close it out?

Speaker 0

Mean, take it home.

Speaker 0

You just had a hole.

Speaker 0

It's a beautiful sermon you had there right there.

Speaker 0

It should be a sermon.

Speaker 0

What you just said, all those Yeah.

Speaker 1

I mean, I just, I love to just think about I love just thinking about the Bible and what it is in our life, you know, and we kind of opened up this show with that, that it's the lamp unto my feet.

Speaker 1

It's the light unto my path.

Speaker 1

You know, and Proverbs six says that it will it will guide me when I walk.

Speaker 1

It will keep me when I sleep and it will speak with me when I wake up.

Speaker 0

那

The

Speaker 1

Bible will guide my path.

Speaker 1

It will guard me even when I sleep, and it will speak with me.

Speaker 1

There's communion.

Speaker 1

The word of God, you know, it it it's the most amazing thing in our life.

Speaker 1

It's more precious than gold.

Speaker 1

In Psalm 19.

Speaker 1

It's sweeter than honey.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

It enlightens our eyes.

Speaker 1

It gives us wisdom about the eternal things in life.

Speaker 1

It tells us about what is to come.

Speaker 1

没错

Yeah.

Speaker 1

It gives us hope.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

The Word is our hope.

Speaker 1

It gives us peace.

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 1

The Word of God works peace in our heart.

Speaker 1

And let's cling to it.

Speaker 1

You know, let's cling to the Word.

Speaker 1

Like Jeremiah, he said, Your Word was like a fire shut up in my bones and I couldn't hold it back.

Speaker 1

Know, in Jeremiah 23, the Word is like a hammer that breaks the rock into pieces.

Speaker 1

And like though, if I have something in my life that needs to be broken, the Word of God can break it.

Speaker 1

If it's a stronghold, if it's a chain, the Word of God is like a hammer that breaks the rock to pieces.

Speaker 1

It does that in my life.

Speaker 1

It's so powerful, the Word of God in Hebrews four twelve, but it's also so gentle in Deuteronomy 32 verse four.

Speaker 1

It's as gentle as the rain or the mist in the spring, or even as the dew on the ground in the middle of the night.
