Let me get started with pastor Belling.
Give us a good thought.
Philippians chapter four verse four says something very important.
Rejoice in the Lord always.
对。
Mhmm.
And if you didn't get it, he he didn't say that.
Again, say rejoice.
Because the Philippian church was under tremendous assault.
You have the Roman government and its control over the Philippian, the city of Philippi, and their vast empire that's actually continued on for, like, eight seventy five years.
Okay?
You have two people causing a problem in the church, causing division to murmuring.
对。
Mhmm.
You have the Greek wisdom trying to infiltrate, work its way in.
You have the religion of the Jews and their legalism to penetrate, and you have carnal Christianity.
And so Paul is writing a letter to them from prison, no doubt, from prison.
And he uses the word joy or something similar to that, like gladness 19 times.
And what he wants them to have as an emphasis is the joy of the Lord.
Actually, word joy and rejoice comes from the word grace.
是的。
Mhmm.
Direct it's a derivative of charis.
It's chara, c h a r a, whereas grace is c h a r I s.
So, really, outside of grace, there really is no joy.
It's only maybe an emotional human joy, some kind of joy that comes from the source outside of God.
But Paul is saying it's important to have joy, delight and joy in the fellowship of the saints in the body.
Now, maybe I've had the opportunity, wasn't a good opportunity, but to be involved maybe or go to churches where you just didn't sense any joy in the place at all.
是的。
Mhmm.
It just seems like it was a religious organization operating in the control of the flesh or some kind of so called movement, denominational movement, but was there any real joy in the church, the body of Christ?
And I think sometimes because people don't understand the word body.
对。
Mhmm.
Body life.
You know?
The church is the body of Christ.
Some people see church as just called out ones.
是的。
Mhmm.
明白?
K?
Called out ones, but not as the soma of God, the body of Jesus Christ.
So when you are you are involved and you are fellowshipping and you are taking your place in the body of Christ, you have tremendous joy and fellowship in the church and the portions that the saints are giving.
I think a person cannot be an island unto themselves.
I mean, even Jesus Christ, God, the son, he wanted a body, needed a body to really bring the message through and the life through.
So this is so key.
So in the book of Philippians, we see it 15 times.
He keeps talking about joy and rejoice.
是的。
Mhmm.
Joy and rejoice.
In other words, this is key for them to have joy in the church.
对。
Mhmm.
What's going on all around them does not bring them joy.
What's going on all around them are just incredible attacks from the government of Rome, from the Jewish legalism, from the culture of the Greeks, from pagan idolatry.
对。
Mhmm.
On and on it goes, you know, and situations where there was murmuring and division taking place.
So Paul writes a letter to Philippi, and he just uses this word practically 19 times.
And I think that emphasis is for them so they would have the doctrine of joy and think and have a mindset pertaining to joy.
Outside of that, really, what is there coming to church or how about Christianity that is has no joy in it.
It's just people going through the motions, and I'm just gonna survive until the rapture or until the end comes and whatnot.
But I really do not have a foundation of joy, relationships of joy, a vision, and a purpose in the joy of God.
And this is so key.
This is why we we see the importance of this emphasis, you know, how key this is.
And when it's not there, then it becomes maybe sometimes flesh rubbing flesh the wrong way.
It's all sin nature's kind of taking the high step and being the ones that are in charge there.
And there's no joy at all.
And that's why people maybe that's why people don't come to church as as much as they should.
Sure.
Because when they come to church, is there joy in the church?
Are there demands on their finances?
Are there demands on them functioning in their gift or something?
Are there are there all kinds of demands that are based upon man and maybe man using verses to solidify what he thinks, but there's really no joy.
I come there and there's no joy.
How about not just the church with no joy, a marriage with no joy, a Christian with no joy?
How do they function?
How do they operate?
How do they continue really without joy?
So Paul makes a tremendous emphasis to the church of Philippi about the joy of the Lord.
And this is so key and so important.
And this is what by the way, what does the word gospel mean?
The word gospel means good news.
没错。
Right.
Glad tidings to cheer the ear of the hearer.
That's the gospel.
It's supposed to be good news.
对。
Mhmm.
It's not supposed to be man centered, and this is what God wants you to do.
And if you do it, you know, you'll be pleasing to God.
But God has joy in his people.
Joy does.
God has joy in us.
You know?
Even when we don't have joy, God has joy.
And this is so key.
We look at Luke 15, and you see the emphasis on the three situations that took place there about joy and God having joy.
对。
Mhmm.
This my son was lost, and now he's found.
对。
Mhmm.
There's there's joy again.
There's joy there in that relationship.
So that's a key topic for today.
We need to talk about it and really emphasize it and see the importance of it because without it Mhmm.
What are we doing?
We're just functioning with some religiosity or some religious organization, whatnot, and going through the motions, but there's no real joy.
And because there's no real joy, then maybe that's why people back away.
对。
Mhmm.
Maybe a purse.
Would I would I wanna be a part of a church that had no joy?
是的。
Yeah.
There was never any mention about joy.
There was no joy.
There was no possibility of joy.
They just didn't really think along those lines.
And that to me is such a key.
So let's let's explore this topic.
好的。
Sure.
I think when we talk about the fellowship with the saints, if I don't sense joy, there's no delight in it.
The word delight we've been talking about all week is a longing.
How come I don't want to fellowship with the saints?
How come I don't have the longing?
Maybe it's the lack of joy that's robbing me of my delight.
The things you delight in are the things you take joy in.
And oftentimes in the church, I don't have the longing for the church maybe because like you said, I sense demands.
I sense legalism.
I sense a driving spirit.
Competition.
And there's no joy in that.
Right?
There's no joy in that.
Like and God says, okay.
I delight in the fellowship of the saints.
Why?
Why is the joy of the Lord my strength in Nehemiah eight ten?
Because it it gives purpose to my fellowship.
It gives direction to my fellowship.
How about that verse?
For the joy that was set before him Mhmm.
He endured the cross.
对。
Mhmm.
In other words, the cross for Jesus was a joy.
That was the joy set before him.
对。
Mhmm.
Our salvation, whatnot, the joy that was set before him.
So we can go through tests and trials and problems in life.
But when we have the joy of God, the joy of God is so overwhelming that is what maybe carries us through these tests and trials.
But if I am going to face tests and trials and there's no joy of the Lord, there's no spiritual joy in it, then I'm just left with a test and the trial and how it's going to come out.
And that becomes very difficult for a person.
But like you said, it's like if there's no joy in the fellowship, then what is the basis for our fellowship?
There's the question.
Okay?
Because the the the it's like this it says in Psalm 16 verse three, the psalmist says that I delight in the fellowship of the saints.
是的。
Mhmm.
What is fueling that fellowship?
And for and people come to church with many different motives and many different reasons.
Well, I'm coming to church because I delight in the fellowship of the saints because of what the saints can do for me.
对。
Yeah.
Or I delight in what I what what what I can get out of it.
Or I delight in maybe I wanna be directed or controlled or I wanna be told what to do.
So there's no pure authentic fellowship, but authentic spiritual fellowship always has joy.
Why?
Because in Galatians five twenty two, the fruit of the spirit is joy.
After love, it's what?
It's joy.
So if there's really love in our fellowship that I'm delighting in, there will always be joy.
And not happy, happy, happy, but there's this overwhelming sense of spiritual satisfaction because of the body of Christ that I'm with.
对。
Mhmm.
That those who are with me, not necessarily this fellowship is not always like huggy huggy, but it's kinda like this peace.
It's the contentment, the satisfaction as part of the body of Christ.
I'm part we gather in one accord in the gathering of the saints and the connection of the saints.
There's a joy that causes me delight.
Right?
How about if you have a situation where a person has joy from God, but they don't find joy in the ministry?
Or how about they have joy in the ministry, but they don't have any joy in God in their personal relationships?
I I love this.
This is a very interesting thought there for us to ponder.
是的。
Mhmm.
Psalm 16 verse eight.
I have set the Lord always before me.
对。
Mhmm.
Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
对。
Mhmm.
Therefore, this is Psalm 16 verse eight and nine.
Therefore, heart is glad Mhmm.
And my glory rejoices.
My flesh shall also rest in hope.
And then look at the eleventh verse.
This is one of pastor Steven's verses that he preached, I remember, in Springfield, Massachusetts Mhmm.
On a Thursday night.
I think it was 1983.
Okay.
If I could if I could remember correctly.
But he he preached this message from verse 16.
I'm sorry.
Psalm 16 verse 11.
You will show me the path of life.
In thy presence is what?
Fullness of joy.
Fullness of joy.
At thy right hand are pleasures forevermore.
So in his presence, there should be fullness of joy.
And is his presence in the church?
There should be fullness of joy.
If there's no joy, then maybe his presence is not there.
In other words, of course, we have Jesus Christ in us, and we are saved forever, eternal security.
But does that mean that Jesus is going to attend every church and every church service?
Only if He's being glorified, only if they're elevating the word, grace, the finished work.
So this joy in in your presence is fullness of joy.
And this is key.
This is what we would desire, not just joy, but the fullness of joy.
And I think that comes with a number of things.
Number one, Jeremiah fifteen sixteen, I defined thy word and I ate it, and it was a joy and rejoicing to my soul for I'm called by thy name.
I find joy in the Bible, in the word of God.
Then I have the joy of God's grace.
Okay?
A direct result of the grace of God, his nature and character is joy.
I find joy in the church.
I find joy in the gospel and bringing the gospel.
I find joy in my personal life.
I find joy in my marriage and in my family.
I find joy in the daily details of life even though I could be working in the midst of all people who are not even Christian.
You know?
I remember working in a prison.
I worked in prisons for ten, eleven years.
And you know what?
I don't know if you've ever been in the prison or ever worked in a prison, but there's not there's not too much joy there at all.
You know?
So to have the joy of God and then to give that joy to other people.
So how key it is to delight and have joy in the fellowship of the saints in the body of Christ.
This is so key.
And I think people that do not fellowship in the church, his body Mhmm.
I think their joy is just limited to what's going on in their life.
You know, they're healthy.
They have joy.
They get sick.
They're miserable.
Are they
money?
That's the question I ask.
But are they?
Because, I mean, we talk about the the joy of the Lord in the body of Christ, but where is the fullness of God?
对。
Yeah.
It's in his body.
是的。
Yes.
So if I'm not part of the delight of the fellowship of the saints that brings me joy is I discover the fullness of God.
I find God.
And if I it's difficult for me to say that I have I delight in I delight in the person of God and not delighting in the body of Christ.
没错。
Right.
Because the person of God and his fullness is in the body of Christ.
You often see this idea of God drawing people together for the assembly.
Do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together.
Why?
Because there is the fullness of God.
There is the fullness of joy.
There is the the drawing of my delight.
I delight in those things.
And I think, pastor, we have to learn to delight in those things.
This is a spiritual lesson.
We learn to draw near.
I mean, the disciples were taught to draw near even before they got the holy spirit.
They were taught the value of drawing together in Hebrews ten twenty two and in and coming together in the body of Christ.
Right?
Do you think that there's situations in churches where they don't realize the incredible joy they would have in the proclamation of the gospel and evangelism?
And they don't realize that the gospel is good news.
是的。
Yeah.
It makes the hearer glad.
没错。
Mhmm.
It cheers the hearer.
对。
Mhmm.
But how many churches today and how many Christians are involved with reaching out to lost people with the gospel?
And there's a tremendous joy.
I mean, what shall the profit a man if he gained the whole world and lose a soul?
Lose a soul.
So there's tremendous joy over one sinner, Luke 15, that repents.
One sinner that changes his mind.
There's joy in heaven.
当然。
Sure.
So by the way, I can do something on earth that will have an effect in heaven.
Sometimes we often talk about the effects that heaven has on the people and the things that we do on the earth.
But I can bring joy in heaven.
That's really interesting.
By by really understanding the gospel and proclaiming it, there's joy.
The saints have joy.
There's joy over one sinner that repents, and that's key.
是的。
Yeah.
So one person, really, when you think about that.
And and that's the gospel.
And yet that's something that's neglected.
It's neglected by churches and it's neglected by Christians.
I've been all over the world in a hundred and ten or twelve countries, and I've seen that and that could be my case too.
All And of a sudden, I get so overwhelmed with the details of life, problems, situations that I think if I get involved with the gospel, those things become minute in in their effect on me.
In other words Mhmm.
Like, I've got a problem in Christianity.
Okay?
Like, say I have a problem or I have situations that are causing me grief or trouble.
Well, the way out of it is just proclaim the gospel.
Realize that, like, I can give the gospel to a person.
And even even though I have situations and difficulties in the church, I'm usually dealing with people who are born again.
是的。
Mhmm.
They're always born again.
But what about people that are not saved?
So we get so overwhelmed with the church situation, we forget about the gospel.
对。
Mhmm.
And by the way, that's what the majority of churches are like now.
It's all about how many how many churches do you think in this world evangelize?
I think maybe 10%.
I think that's a good figure.
How many born again believers evangelize?
Very, very sad.
It's a remnant, but they don't see the joy in the gospel at all.
Paul saw it.
He could be by the way, he's in prison when he's talking about this word, when he's using the word joy fifteen, seventeen times in Philippians, he's in jail.
对。
Mhmm.
He's in jail.
I I wonder what that prison cell was like.
They I bet you they didn't have a television and a nice soft mattress.
No.
You know?
Three square meals a day.
Three square.
You ever see prisons now?
见过。
Yeah.
It's incredible.
When you go to prison and it's like, I don't even know.
是的。
Yeah.
Maybe it is a punishment, but not like it used to be.
Things have changed.
Things have changed.
They used to make you break rock with a hammer.
Remember that?
That's called the twenties.
对。
Yes.
Is that in the twenties?
That's a 100 years ago.
Oh, okay.
Well, I'm I'm, you
know 80.
Would be 80, but I'm you know?
I I I like what you said there.
Like, the fellowship of the saints produces a joy that gives me a desire for people.
是的。
Yeah.
Right?
And so you cannot and and that's a delight.
And I think you learn that in the fellowship.
Like, you go when the church goes evangelizing, when the church has a vision for the lost people, when I delight in that, it developed.
My delighting where I delight is where I'm developed.
I would say it that way.
对。
Yeah.
Where I delight is where I'm developed.
If I don't delight in the fellowship of the saints, I will not get developed in the fellowship of the saints.
Can I can I have joy in a trial?
Peter says the trial of your faith is more precious than gold.
That's what he says.
Can I have joy in a test?
I know that's not easy, but God says that the joy I I like that statement made by Judson in the last years of his life.
Enjoy your sorrow, health, or pain.
My course is onward still.
We sow on Burma's barren plain.
We reap on Zion's Hill.
And so there's so many things that we will reap when we are proclaimers of this gospel.
是的。
Yeah.
And come on out tomorrow on Saturday at 09:00 in the morning for a devotional and then an outreach from, say, 10:00 to 11:30 or so, a lunch wrap after that, and just come on out.
Maybe you've never done that before and you're missing joy.
Some people have been given this projection from the enemy about the difficulties of sharing the gospel.
Well, maybe they see it this way.
Maybe they don't see that as part of the fellowship of the saints.
对。
Yeah.
I mean, I can this Hebrews ten twenty five is not a mandate for church attendance.
It's a mandate for the fellowship of the saint, to be honest with you.
Do not forsake this something of yourself together in the word.
Do not forsake this something of yourself together in outreach.
Do not forsake this something of yourselves together in this in church.
Do not forsake this something of yourself together in the prayer meeting.
On all of those things Yeah.
We learn by the spirit's power to delight in the fellowship with the saints because in them is where I get developed.
没错。
Absolutely.
That that's absolutely true.
But if a church is not balancing those things, then they only say you get joy when you give money.
对
Mhmm.
You get joy when you come to church alone.
对
Mhmm.
But there's more to it than that.
Can I have joy in prayer?
Can I have joy in evangelism?
Can I have joy in relationships?
Can I have joy when I read the Bible?
对。
Mhmm.
You know, the word of God.
Is there joy?
And so if Satan can rob joy, he can really get a believer to a place where they want nothing to do with church life Yeah.
Or evangelism or the gospel.
They have very, very little to do with that.
But when I read the Bible, it should be a book of joy for me.
是的。
Yeah.
You know?
Well, they don't they they don't see the opportunity to grow through fellowship.
And I think maybe for many believers, we don't understand what that word fellowship means and that the production of joy is a result of fellowship.
If I if I fellowship with the source of joy, which is God, then there's a production of joy in my life in Galatians five twenty two.
If I fellowship with the saints of God, then there's a production of joy through the assembly.
是的。
Mhmm.
And maybe the fact that one of the reasons why you have no joy in your life is that you've forsaken the assembly instead of fellowshipping in the assembly.
And we and I guess we have to learn.
I guess we have to learn.
And I think forsaking the word Yeah.
Which brings joy.
Forsaking prayer.
对。
Mhmm.
Forsaking relating to people with good news.
对。
Mhmm.
Telling people about good news.
So maybe with all of those having their source of joy and I say no to them, then where's my joy coming from?
It was going to come from whether or not the sun is out today, whether or not I got a raise and pay, whether or not everything's going well in the family, whether or not whether or not it keep going on and on, it goes.
It becomes all based upon natural things.
是的。
Yeah.
You get spiritually moody.
Are you spiritually moody today?
If you feel like you're spiritually moody today, maybe it's because you're not what are you delighting in?
I would ask that question.
What are you delighting in?
Because spiritual moodiness does not does not produce joy.
It produces depression, anxiety, self condemnation.
You get that cloud, like, on Peanuts, you had that guy walking around with a cloud over his head.
The view in the body
基督。
Christ.
That.
对。
Yes.
I do.
You're walking around, like like, with with the cloud over top of your head.
You're like, wait a minute.
What's wrong with me?
Get around the body of Christ.
What is the body doing?
What is the church of God doing?
Delight in those things.
We have two comments.
I wish they would call us up.
Pastor Alfred Zedk, what he delights in, call us up and talk about it.
Pastor Dario, joy in the gospel.
We're not taking
it from house.
Africa.
No phone calls.
Oh, we don't take phone calls.
Oh my god.
No wonder they're not calling because we don't take them.
We used to, didn't we?
Is that, like, years ago?
So pastor Alfred said, I delight in being present in the body of the saints, and I like the second part of what he said there.
Being engaged.
Being engaged.
You know what that is?
That's like because because here's the key.
I'm not just showing up.
I'm involved.
I'm a participatory.
I'm in the game.
Right?
And and it doesn't matter on what level.
The body's going to evangelize.
I will go.
I can pray.
I can speak.
I'm engaged.
I'm I'm maybe I'm not the speaker of the word, but I'm in the assembly.
I'm hearing the word.
I'm engaged.
Prayer meeting.
I'm engaged.
So I in the fellowship of the saints, the word for fellowship speaks about engagement, not just presence alone, but engagement.
That's a good word, Pastor.
没错。
Right.
对。
Yes.
That's
。
it.
I mean and some people are just engaged in sitting in a in a seat.
And the only thing they know about Christianity is is a seat in the
church.
没错。
Yeah.
And they go they always have to have the same seat.
Remember one time somebody said, that's my seat.
I'm like, wow.
I didn't know that you bought this.
My seat.
Name on it?
Some churches used to be able to buy your own pew.
That's going back in the day.
Buy your own pew?
Okay.
Let's see.
Pastor Dario says, joy, joy, joy in the gospel from North Africa.
We love you.
Steven Wells says, I know.
Right?
Pastor, they get those phones lined up again.
Thank you, Steven, for that vote of confidence.
Carol Bailey says, when we have love fellowship with the holy spirit in the word, we will be filled with joy with others even when we are sick and can't openly fellowship with the body.
God is faithful.
That's true.
Amen.
Steven Wells says, my mother visited a new church with my family last week and says she felt joy and peace is simply pulling into the parking lot.
It can be tangible.
That is true, Steven.
It can be tangible.
It can be discerned, and it can be organically sensed.
You're right.
That's a good thought.
I think, I think, really, this is such a key topic, joy.
没错。
Sure.
It really, it really is.
Because as Nehemiah eight ten said, the joy of the Lord is our strength.
It's a part of giving us the strength to walk on with God and go on with God.
And when you think about it, sometimes we get so overwhelmed with trials, tests, tribulations, problems, difficulties, personality conflicts, and all that.
And all of a sudden, whatever happened to joy, there's just no joy.
And then people see it's a drudgery.
It's a drudgery to be And that's because they have no joy.
By the way, can you have joy in a trial?
Yes, you can.
Can you have joy in a personality conflict?
Can you have joy?
I've met people, a woman who's married to an unsaved man, and that was she didn't do that on purpose.
That happened before she got saved.
And she was born again, and he he doesn't want God.
And yet she can she have joy?
能。
Yes.
She can.
Even though there's nothing but a lot of trouble in the home, she can have the joy of the Lord and she can bring that joy to unsaved people.
This is so key.
And you see so many people out there that are like, they're just disgruntled with life.
Moody Christians, Moody, Moody, Moody, like, oh, got that crowd.
而且
And
unsaved people.
是的。
Yeah.
And they don't realize that the answer is in God himself.
You're looking for joy and things that are going to pass away.
对。
Yeah.
You're looking for joy in your youth and your health, and you're going to get old.
You're not going to be able to tie your own shoes anymore.
You know, you can't even bend over to do it.
The day will come.
The day will come.
So joy.
And how about like dealing with situations that happen problems?
Well, I've gotta maintain my joy in the midst of it so that I don't let the problem become my God.
But I get joy from God.
See, the problem becomes bigger than God.
And that's a challenge on my own.
Me trying to find joy on my own is difficult because I believe in the body of Christ, I am encouraged.
I am fed.
对。
Mhmm.
I'm I can even be led from my moodiness into the presence of God and led into the joy of God.
If you're that moody Christian, if you're that person with the cloud over your head, you walk around, just run out, everything is horrible, get around some godly people.
Get around the body of Christ, and let them encourage you.
Let them put strength in.
That's what the word encouragement mean.
Or otherwise, you can sit in your corner by yourself alone and just say, well, it's just the way it is.
And you can you can build yourself up in the most holy faith.
Don't get me wrong.
是的。
Yeah.
But what I wanna say is God also gave you the body.
没错。
Yes.
He gave you the gift of the body of Christ, which Ephesians four, it's a gift in your life.
The church, the assembly is a gift.
You unpack the gift.
Open the gift up.
And that's what people need to do.
But yet, maybe they've had situations that have happened
对。
Mhmm.
And personality conflicts.
And so they they don't step beyond that.
That's Thinking about what about the next step?
You know, this is interesting.
Like I said before, 26 times in Philippians, he uses the word either gospel or joy.
I mean, 26 times in that small epistle to the Philippians.
And that's just incredible because he wants to emphasize joy because of where what was going on in the church.
是的。
Mhmm.
Division, murmuring, problems, like I said, the Roman government, the Greek culture, the Jewish religion, pagan idolatry, all these things taking place.
是的。
Mhmm.
And he wants to he wants to make sure that joy is really at the center of all that they're doing.
是的
Yeah.
That don't let those things take your joy.
对
Mhmm.
You know?
That's how you can sense that God is in the assembly.
You can sense in the fellowship that there's a pure joy.
It may not be always happy.
The circumstances may not always be good.
But and that's what's missing in the Philippi assembly right there.
Paul is saying, okay.
You have services.
You have assembly, but your pastor's sick, and I'm not there.
You can still have joy in the assembly in the right fellowship.
Those two women had the wrong fellowship, which ate away at the joy of the Philippi church.
So God says, my fellowship always has joy when it's in the spirit.
Key.
And it's it's a key.
Read just read that epistle.
明白。
Mhmm.
Read a book of read the Philippian book and just think about it, about how many times he's using the word gospel and joy.
And maybe I I read that whenever I have things that I think are overwhelming situations that are going on.
I go to Philippians.
I go to Philippians because I see Paul.
There are there are apostles in prison.
Their pastor is dying.
There's division in the church.
There's murmuring.
And as I said, all the other things, the Roman government, the Greek culture, the Jews, legalism, and yet he's giving them joy.
That's a great word.
Today, at the end of this week, we delight in a lot of things.
But when we delight in the fellowship of the body of Christ, the result in our life can be joy.
It can be joy.
And that's the joy that I bring.
That's my portion that I bring when I walk in the spirit.
And that's a joy that I take from the body of Christ in the spirit.
It's like, first Samuel 20 verse 18 when Jonathan told David that your place is empty and your seat is missed.
You bring something to the assembly, and you take something from the assembly.
And that's why in the assembly, joy is one of those things.
Joy is one of those things.
That that is key.
So how important it is for us to disregard all of the projections from the outside, reflections from the inside
对
Mhmm.
And live in the joy of God.
And I love how the word is so connected to the word grace.
没错
Mhmm.
I think that if a church or a believer is not a grace believer or a grace church, I mean, maybe they have opportunities now and then.
They have a little joy, but not like the joy that they could have.
So it is grace.
Charis produces.
对。
Mhmm.
And so I can rejoice in the Lord always.
对。
Mhmm.
Really?
Is that can are you are you kidding me?
In the worst of situations, you know?
是的。
Yes.
In the worst of situations, God's available to pour out his spirit, and and the spirit is a spirit of joy in us.
The spirit of joy in us.
That's the key.
Being able to tap into the spirit of joy that's in us, the holy spirit, whom when we walk in that sheds the rod the love of God, which leads us right into into the joy of God.
And then I'm able to shed that where?
In the body of Christ.
And I learned how to fellowship with that first individually, and then I learned to fellowship in that corporately.
And I then I can learn to fellowship in that in the in the gospel with the lost.
I can fellowship with that on my job.
And you find that life is not better because you walk in joy, but you're better in life because you walk in joy.
You're better in life.
Right?
Christ in you can deliver you and use you to deliver somebody else.
And you don't know in the body of Christ, you don't know in the fellowship with the saints how God can use you to minister to somebody else, to walk to someone else and give them the joy of the Lord.
And suddenly, the joy of the Lord is your strength.
It's also their strength too.
对。
Right.
It doesn't come just from the person of God.
It comes it should come from the body of Christ too.
是的。
Mhmm.
It should come from the gospel.
I think a lot of people miss joy because they're not fellowshipping with the body and the church, and there's really no relationship to the Gospel.
But they say they have Jesus Christ, and they do.
They are born again.
But somehow they're missing a third, two of those three aspects of joy.
And they read the Bible and they get condemned instead of having it be a word of joy to my life.
You know?
And that's so key and so important.
So once again, go back to Psalm sixteen eleven.
You will show me the path of life.
对。
Mhmm.
In your presence is fullness of joy.
对
Mhmm.
At your right hand are pleasures evermore.
Pleasures evermore.
Well, he delights in verse three of Psalm 16, and then he finds joy in the presence of God in verse eight.
You you you can even see this whole Yeah.
The it's a great Psalm, actually.
When you talk about a fellowship within God, with God's people, it's a great Psalm in Psalm 16.
Beautiful Psalm.
Wow.
We got some comments here.
Stephen Wells says joy begets joyous infectious make make the joy of the Lord go viral.
I like that, Stephen.
I like that viral part.
You know?
It's so funny.
People come into the house of God, and they want to infect their own intentions, their own opinions, and even their politics.
How about I walk in the joy of the Lord?
Why don't I why don't I let that be my ministry in the fellowship rather than just my position?
Loretta Wow.
Loretta Carter told me, we live in the spirit.
There is joy in our heart, the word in our heart, and a song in our hearts.
Arber says much love to both of you.
Great great to both of you.
Great message.
Great message.
Thank you.
Mimoto has informed us that he's watching live.
哇。
Wow.
Steve DeWells, I remember my dad singing that silly song, if you want joy, you must laugh for it, and then the whole entire course of laughter.
Steven, I remember that song, but I'm not gonna sing it on the air.
You wouldn't want that, Steven.
Trust me.
The the joy of the lord is my strength.
是的。
Yes.
Loretta,
Loretta, again, god bless our these two faithful soldiers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Cover them in the precious blood of Jesus.
Amen.
Thank you.
I'll take that, Loretta.
I'll take the blessing when I can get it.
So maybe, just a thought here, question about joy.
What happens when I lose my joy?
What how do I how do I get that back?
Because there's a lot of folks that will tell you that they've lost the joy for the assembly.
They've lost the joy for the gospel.
They've lost the joy for the word.
And like you said, sometimes in life, you get beaten down.
You get beat up.
The things are rough, and you you kinda like bruise a little bit.
You're bruised in the body.
You're gonna have to make decisions based upon the mind of God.
对。
Mhmm.
Making a decision.
And one of those decisions would be to receive the joy of the Lord.
I've gotta I've gotta make a decision.
In other words, maybe situations are not gonna change.
I'm waiting for situational change.
I'll get my joy back.
But how about having a change of thinking?
好的。
Okay.
And and metanoia, we change our thinking.
And then with a change of thinking comes the joy of God.
With the mind of God comes the joy of God.
With the word of God comes the joy of God.
With the doctrines of God comes the joy of God.
With the spirit of God comes the joy of God.
And so it means me just changing my thinking.
Changing my thinking.
I'm I'm thinking about the situation outside of how God thinks.
Okay.
And that's why I don't have any joy.
You know?
I'm looking at it in such in another way.
所以。
So
We have a way of of connecting our joy like we connect to happiness.
We can take our joy and make it circumstantial.
是的。
Yeah.
Or we have I expect a certain result.
And if that I get that result, I have joy.
And oftentimes, you in life, you actually do get the result that you want, but it's empty.
You don't got what I wanted, and I still don't feel joy.
Imagine the joy of heaven.
No old sin nature.
对。
Mhmm.
No devil.
No demons.
Right?
对。
Mhmm.
No earth.
That's almost No more work.
No more jobs.
That's almost unimaginable.
That mean literally
It's almost
so far beyond our realm of reality.
That's almost unimaginable.
就像
Like
No flesh.
What kind of world it No world.
是的。
Yeah.
It's just Jesus and the saints Yeah.
And the angels.
没错。
Mhmm.
And what a joy.
That will be perfect, pure joy.
But yet we can experience this joy by just relating to God himself and the body of Christ and the eternal purpose of God.
I love that.
Relate to God himself and the body of Christ and the eternal purpose of God.
是的。
Yeah.
And you'll find your joy in the midst of prison situations.
对。
Yeah.
Paul's in prison in Philippians.
对。
Mhmm.
And he uses he uses that word so many times.
是的。
Yeah.
Seventeen, eighteen, 19 times.
How can he do that?
Because he's he's a prisoner of the Lord first before he's in prison.
You know, he is definitely their prisoner, but he is in prison.
He is owned by God in a way.
The word desmios, a prisoner of the Lord.
So God in him in that relationship brings him great joy regardless of what's going on.
You know?
真美。
Beautiful.
Pastor, any closing thoughts for our program today?
Fullness of joy.
And his presence is fullness of joy.
And by the way, you find his presence in the church Yes.
