Speaker 0

大家好。

Hello, friends.

Speaker 0

欢迎来到《物流中的物流》。

Welcome to Logistics of Logistics.

Speaker 0

我叫乔·林奇。

My name is Joe Lynch.

Speaker 0

非常感谢大家今天参加。

Thank you so much for joining us today.

Speaker 0

今天我们要聊的是Farelanes,一种面向所有人的实时线路定价系统,和我的朋友尼尔·霍夫曼一起。

Today's topic is Farelanes, real time lane pricing for everyone with my real with my friend Neal Huffman.

Speaker 0

尼尔,最近怎么样?

How's it going, Neal?

Speaker 1

嗨,乔。

Hey, Joe.

Speaker 1

挺好的,谢谢你邀请我来参加。

It's going great, and thanks for having me on, man.

Speaker 1

我真的很期待我们今天的对话。

I really I'm looking forward to our dialogue.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 0

我也很期待。

I'm looking forward to it too.

Speaker 0

所以‘Farelanes’是这么拼的:F-A-R-E-L-a-n-e-s。

So Farelanes is spelled F A R E Lanes.

Speaker 0

你们那边具体是做什么的?

And what do you guys do over there?

Speaker 1

我们这个名称其实是个双关,‘fare’这个词,但归根结底,你也可以把它理解成‘fair’,不过我们的网站用的是‘fare’。

So we have a little bit of a play on the name of the company, f a r e, but at the end of the day, you could also say f a I r, but our website is f a r e.

Speaker 1

我们的理念是,为运输行业提供一种定价方案,而且我们认为这个价格是公平合理的。

But our play, Joe, is that we actually are bringing a a pricing solution to the transportation market, and we believe it's fairly priced.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

我们的目标是彻底消除每天、每周或一年中不同季节,从一个城市到另一个城市、根据不同车型进行报价时那些让人困惑的复杂操作。

So our goal is to literally remove the obfuscation that goes on in pricing a load from city pair to city pair by equipment type on any given day, week, or season of the year.

Speaker 1

市场上确实有不少不错的解决方案,但我们相信,我们在数据提供方式上有着独特的做法。

And there's a lot of good solutions out there, but we believe we bring a unique approach to how we provide our data.

Speaker 1

整个行业正在向数据驱动的模式转变。

And the industry is moving towards a data model.

Speaker 1

每个人都需要数据。

And everybody wants data.

Speaker 1

他们希望可以查看这些数据。

They wanna be able to review it.

Speaker 1

他们希望可以分析数据,获取能真正帮助业务的具体信息。

They wanna be able to churn it out and get the specifics that will help their business.

Speaker 1

所以Farelanes的核心,就是为承运商、货代、货主和保理公司提供实时、精准的定价信息——这些是我们合作伙伴,但归根结底,他们都是我们的客户。

So Farelanes is all about really bringing a a real time accurate pricing view to the market for carriers, brokers, shippers, and factoring companies are our partners, but at the end of

Speaker 0

说到底,他们就是我们的客户。

the day, they're clients.

Speaker 0

这就是我们的目标。

So that's our goal.

Speaker 0

对。

Yep.

Speaker 0

在录之前我就跟你说过,我刚参加完 Manifest 大会。

I told you before we hit the record button that I was just at Manifest.

Speaker 0

那是个很棒的会议。

Great conference.

Speaker 0

我在那儿见到了你们的 Casey,Casey Larkin。

I saw your guy Casey there, Casey Larkin.

Speaker 0

从 Manifest 上我收获了不少,当然不止这一条,也不只是 Manifest 这一次。

And one of the things that I took away from manifest and it's not the only thing, and it just wasn't manifest.

Speaker 0

我觉得大家其实都注意到了,以前如果你有个货运中介,你就会跟他说:帮我找一辆车。

I think it's we've all seen this happening, is it used to be if you had a freight broker, you would say to your freight broker, I want you to get me a truck.

Speaker 0

这本来就是大家的期待。

That was the expectation.

Speaker 0

如果我是个发货方,直接找承运商,我会说,给我安排一辆车。

If I was a shipper and I went directly to a carrier, I'd say, give me a truck.

Speaker 0

但现在我们越来越希望,不仅要车,还要你们提供能简化流程的技术支持。

And I think increasingly, we're saying, not only do I want the truck, but I want you to provide the technology that makes it easier to streamline that process.

Speaker 0

现在我们还想要数据分析。

And now we want analytics.

Speaker 0

我们需要数据来证明,我付的钱是合理的。

We want numbers that say I'm paying the right amount.

Speaker 0

我可以这么说。

And I can say this.

Speaker 0

我以前在不少大公司工作过。

I worked at a lot of big companies in the past.

Speaker 0

要是你和我负责物流,待在一家大公司里,比如世界五百强企业,老板会叫我们进去:‘乔,尼尔,你们来一下,怎么运费全涨了?’

If you and I were the logistics department and we were in a big company, let's just say a Fortune 1,000 company, they said, Joe, Neal, come in, and let's talk about the prices all went up.

Speaker 0

这到底是怎么回事?

What went on?

Speaker 0

我们会说,这是货运代理告诉我们的,或者这是承运方告诉我们的。

And we say, this is what the freight broker told us, or this is what the carriers told us.

Speaker 0

他们会问,是整个市场涨价了,还是只是我们合作的代理和承运方单独提价了?

They'd say, is the market go up, or did just the broker and the carrier working with go up?

Speaker 0

我们只好说,我不清楚。

And we go, I don't know.

Speaker 0

我不了解市场到底怎么变动。

I don't know what the market does.

Speaker 0

我们根本不会去关注市场动态。

I we don't pay attention to the market.

Speaker 0

跟我们合作的代理和承运方怎么说,我们就怎么信。

The brokers and the carriers we work with, that's what they tell us.

Speaker 0

我们自己绝不会这么糊弄,就算偶尔这么干一次,出了问题也立马会说,别再这样了。

We would never do that to ourselves, or we might do it once, and they get in trouble and then say, let's not do that again.

Speaker 0

我觉得,我们每个人都期待自己能成为这行里的专家。

And I feel like that is the expectation that we all have is I want to be an expert in what I'm doing.

Speaker 0

所以我不能说,我是通过给16家承运商或16家货运中介打电话,才确定价格的。

So I can't say, oh, the way I figured out what the price is that they called 16 carriers and 16 carriers and or 16 brokers and 16 carriers, and that's how I figure out the price is.

Speaker 0

首先,你这是在浪费他们的时间,尤其是他们没活干的时候,根本不会容忍这种做法。

First off, you're wasting their time, and they won't put up with it very long, especially if they're not getting work.

Speaker 0

过去很多公司都是这么做的。

And that's the way a lot of companies have done it in the past.

Speaker 0

他们觉得,我们有自己的一套经验。

They're like, we got some tribal knowledge.

Speaker 0

打上六七个电话,价格就差不多出来了。

We make a half a dozen phone calls, and then we have a price.

Speaker 0

为什么不改进一下,用像Farelanes这样的公司提供的数据分析呢?

Why not get a little better about that and get some analytics from a company like Farelanes?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

这正是当前行业正在发生的情况。

So that's exactly what's happening in the industry.

Speaker 1

而且,乔,我们现在接到的咨询越来越多,都是些公司想获取这些数据,就是出于这个原因。

And and, Joe, the calls that we're getting on now are increasingly becoming more focused on companies that want access to that data just for that reason.

Speaker 1

他们需要数据分析。

They need the analytics.

Speaker 1

他们想知道运价是上涨还是下跌。

They need to know are they rates going up or down.

Speaker 1

我觉得Farelanes的优势在于,并不是每家公司都能配备庞大的IT团队。

And the I guess the beauty of kind of what Farelanes brings to the table is not every company can have a large IT department.

Speaker 1

就连小型经纪公司和小型承运商,也在琢磨怎么实现自动化,怎么获得洞察。

That even the small brokers and the small carriers, they're all trying to figure out how do I automate, how do I get insight.

Speaker 1

所以Farelanes专注于帮助运输行业的各个层级,都能查看我们的线路数据,从而做出关键的业务决策——比如该往哪些方向调配车辆,才能在每条线路上赚得更多。

And so Farelanes is really focused on helping all layers of this transportation industry have the ability to look at our lane data and make critical decisions on their business or where they should be looking at or maybe that where they should move their trucks across the country to make more per lane.

Speaker 1

我们相信,我们正在为这个行业带来这种能力,而且你根本不需要庞大的IT团队。

So we believe we're bringing that type of capability to the space, and you don't have to have a big IT department.

Speaker 1

也不需要自己开发自动化软件。

You don't have to have automated software.

Speaker 1

我们会通过我们的解决方案提供这些数据,然后你可以据此做出决策。

We will help provide that data from our solutions, and then you can make your decisions off of it.

Speaker 1

我们看到的情况跟你刚才说的完全一致。

So we're we're seeing the same thing that you just talked about.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yep.

Speaker 0

对。

Yep.

Speaker 0

如果你是货主,光说‘我从这些经纪商或承运商那里拿到的信息是这样’是不够的。

It's not an it's not enough to say this is what I'm getting from the the brokers or the carriers I'm working with if you're a shipper.

Speaker 0

如果你是经纪商,说实话,买得对、卖得对,这才是生意的核心。

And then if you're a broker, let's face it, buying correctly and selling correctly is the whole business.

Speaker 0

多一点信息,总没坏处。

So a little extra knowledge doesn't hurt.

Speaker 0

跟我们聊聊你吧,尼尔。

So tell us a little bit about you, Neal.

Speaker 0

你是在哪儿长大的?

Where'd you grow up?

Speaker 0

你上的是哪所学校?

Where'd you go to school?

Speaker 0

在创办Farelanes之前,你有哪些职业亮点?为什么决定创办Farelanes?

Some career highlights before you started Farelanes, and then why did you start Farelanes?

Speaker 1

我是在佛罗里达长大的。

So I grew up in I actually grew up in Florida.

Speaker 1

小时候天天跟海滩和火箭发射作伴。

I grew up with the beach and rocket launches.

Speaker 1

我住在太空海岸,后来在奥兰多的中佛罗里达大学上学,那段日子挺难忘的。

I was on the Space Coast and went to school in Orlando, UCF, those nights.

Speaker 1

我职业生涯的前半段是在电信行业度过的。

But I spent my first half of my career in telecommunications.

Speaker 1

我跑遍全国,去军事基地安装我参与开发的软件,类似这样的工作。

I traveled the country installing software that I'd helped write some military bases and things of that nature.

Speaker 1

我亲眼见证了2000年互联网泡沫破灭时电信行业的崩盘,随后我彻底转行进入了企业软件领域。

I watched the telecom industry meltdown in the two thousand dot com bust, and I literally transitioned to enterprise software.

Speaker 1

我特别自豪的是,早在‘云计算’这个词火起来之前,我就参与打造了一套云解决方案,之后我逐渐深入企业市场。过去十年,或者说快十年了,我一直待在德克萨斯州沃斯堡的一家保理公司,现在也还在那儿。

And I love the fact that, I learned about I actually helped create a cloud solution before the cloud term was cool, and I started migrating more into the enterprise arena, and I spent the last ten years of my formal career or almost ten years, I'd say, working at a factoring company in Fort Worth, Texas, and that's where I am now.

Speaker 1

我之所以对这个行业有感情,完全是因为我所在的公司。

And I really I got a heart for the business because of the company I work for.

Speaker 1

他们真的特别用心去帮助客户成功,提供各种解决方案,帮他们做得更好,我特别欣赏这种做法。

They really went out of their way to help their clients be successful, to provide them with solutions to help them do better, and I loved it.

Speaker 1

我也因此深深认同了这种理念。

And I really, became a fan of that mentality.

Speaker 1

我帮他们推出了一系列软件方案,包括一个手机应用和一个货运匹配平台。

And so what I helped them do was really roll out software solutions, a mobile app, a a load board.

Speaker 1

在运营这个货运平台的过程中,经常有承运人给我打电话,说:‘嘿,尼尔……’

And part of that load board experience was I would have carriers call me up and go, hey, Neal.

Speaker 1

我讨厌你们的货运平台。

I hate your load board.

Speaker 1

我就问,为啥?

And I was like, why?

Speaker 1

他们说,你们没在货单上标价格。

And they would say, you don't put a rate on the load.

Speaker 1

我就说,这真不是我干的。

And I was like, oh, that's not me.

Speaker 1

那是经纪公司或者货主的事。

That's the broker or the shipper.

Speaker 1

后来,我公司对我特别照顾。

And then I travel my company was very gracious to me.

Speaker 1

他们让我走遍全国,代表客户——也就是承运人——去见各种经纪公司和货主。

They allowed me to travel the country, really meeting with brokers and some shippers on behalf of their clients, which were carriers.

Speaker 1

我特别喜欢这个工作,因为两三年里,我接触了大概三百个经纪公司和货主。

And I loved it because I'm I'm out with probably 300 brokers and shippers over a two or three year period.

Speaker 1

乔,我从这些人那儿听到的都是这些。

And, Joe, here's what I heard from these guys.

Speaker 1

他们总会说,谢谢你专程过来拜访我们。

They would go, oh, thanks for coming and visiting us.

Speaker 1

你们是做账款融资的,但我们特别喜欢你们。

You're a factoring company, but we love you guys.

Speaker 1

然后他们会说,嘿,尼尔。

And then they would say, hey, Neal.

Speaker 1

我能看看你的线路数据吗?

Can I look at your lane data?

Speaker 1

我就回答,不行。

And I would go, no.

Speaker 1

那是因为我们根本没有整理成他们能看的形式。

And it's because we didn't really have it in a form that they could look at.

Speaker 1

我后来跟老板聊了,他说,嘿。

I actually talked to my owner, and he goes, hey.

Speaker 1

也许我们可以朝这个方向试试。

Maybe we could move in that direction.

Speaker 1

所以我们就开始这么做,因为确实有这个需求,而这个需求源于当时现有的解决方案。

And so we started doing that because there was a need, and and the need was based on the current solutions.

Speaker 1

听我说。

Listen.

Speaker 1

外面的人和解决方案都不错,但总有人抱怨说:

They're all good people out there and good solutions, but there was a lot of here hey.

Speaker 1

这儿有个运力通道,那儿有个运价,但价格浮动能到正负百分之二十,或者根本没准数。

Here's a lane and here's a a load price, but it's plus or minus 20% or we're not sure.

Speaker 1

因此,大家对这个问题牢骚不少。

And so there was a lot of lamenting going on about that.

Speaker 1

几年前,我有个合伙人,他技术特别强,在航空定价领域做过不少出色的事。

And so I a couple of years ago, I have a partner, and he's a great technical guy and has done some great things in the industry, in the airline pricing industry.

Speaker 1

我们就说:

We said, hey.

Speaker 1

你有没有想过?

You know what?

Speaker 1

如果我们能为线路定价打造一个更好的解决方案呢?

What if we actually create a a better solution for lane pricing?

Speaker 1

所以,乔,我们真的和我之前的老板合作了,他帮了我们很大的忙,让我们顺利起步。

And so what we did, Joe, was we literally format we worked with our my former owner, and he was very helpful in helping us get some a start.

Speaker 1

现在我们已经开发出一套解决方案,为承运商、经纪商和货主提供精准的线路定价数据。

But we've created a solution now that provides carriers, brokers, and shippers accurate lane pricing.

Speaker 1

我们可以坦诚地说,我们所有的数据都是准确的。

We we can say, honestly, all that data that we have is accurate.

Speaker 1

这是真实的。

It's real.

Speaker 1

没有重复的数据。

It's not duplicated.

Speaker 1

我们正努力为运输行业带来透明的定价信息,比如从A城到B城的卡车运费。

So we're trying to bring transparency to the transportation industry for pricing a truck from city a to city b.

Speaker 1

就像你刚才说的,现在人人都想要技术,我们稍后可以聊聊我们具体是怎么做的。

And now it as you just talked about, everyone wants tech, and and we can talk in a minute about how we do it.

Speaker 1

但我们非常兴奋。

But we're excited.

Speaker 1

我们看到大家对我们提供的服务接受度很高,我们的目标是帮助交易中的每个人做得更好。

We're seeing a a very good acceptance rate on what we're providing, and our goal is to help everyone in the transaction do better.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yep.

Speaker 0

对。

Yep.

Speaker 0

我觉得你们给我们的这些数据,其实都是一些类似的绩效指标。

And I think the I always say these numbers that you can give us are just similar KPIs.

Speaker 0

这只是一个对话的开始。

It's the beginning of the conversation.

Speaker 0

单独看这些绩效指标,或者单独看运价数据,本身并不能带来什么实际帮助。

So KPIs in them all by themselves don't do you any good, or lane pricing all by themselves don't do you any good.

Speaker 0

但它们能开启一场对话,我之前就跟你说过这一点。

But it's a conversation that can begin because I I mentioned this to you before.

Speaker 0

按一下录制按钮。

Hit the record button.

Speaker 0

每次我跟人聊定价,我都会问:这是货运公司付的价格吗?

Anytime I talk to anyone about pricing, I say, is it the price that the factoring company paid?

Speaker 0

还是货主实际支付的价格?

Is that what the shipper actually paid?

Speaker 0

因为有时候你会说,这票货是通过中介承运的。

Because sometimes you'd say, this was brokered freight.

Speaker 0

这票货是直接运给货主的,这两者有时候差别挺大的。

This was carried directly to the shipper, and there's a difference sometimes.

Speaker 0

你提供的数据,我也跟你说过这一点。

And you're giving and I also told you this.

Speaker 0

我们俩都要去印第安纳波利斯即将举办的中介与承运人峰会,我觉得这是为了增进中介和承运人之间的相互理解。

So we're both gonna be at the broker carrier summit coming up here in Indianapolis, and I think that is to try and have a better understanding between brokers and carriers.

Speaker 0

我觉得在当前这种低迷的市场环境下,一个挑战是:中介拿到一条线路报价2000美元,转手给承运人1800或者1750,他却觉得这没什么问题。

And one of the things I think is always a challenge is in a down market like we are right now, you have, a broker gets a lane for $2,000, and then he gives it to a carrier for 1,800 or $17.50, and he thinks, no.

Speaker 0

这点钱根本不够。

That's not enough money.

Speaker 0

这生意赚不到什么钱。

We're not making enough money on this business.

Speaker 0

老板这回肯定要找我算账。

My boss can be on my tail for this one.

Speaker 0

carrier那边看了直摇头。

And then the carrier is looking and going, god.

Speaker 0

这单子我本该拿更多钱的。

I should've gotten a lot more money for this.

Speaker 0

但区别在于,经纪人看到的是总价。

The difference, though, is the broker saw the top line number.

Speaker 0

carrier却不知道,还以为我坑了他。

The carrier didn't, and he's thinking that carrier is ripping me off.

Speaker 0

我知道这单子其实能赚更多。

I know we could get a lot more for that.

Speaker 0

我觉得这就是为什么这些关系中会有些敌意的原因。

And I think that's where some of the animosity comes from some of these relationships.

Speaker 0

但像你们这样的公司把信息公开了,现在你就明白了。

But companies like yours are putting the information out there, And now you go, okay.

Speaker 0

你是经纪人。

You're the broker.

Speaker 0

你拿到了这笔业务。

You got that business.

Speaker 0

我知道你有权利赚一些钱。

I know you're entitled to make some money.

Speaker 0

你赚得不错。

Good for you.

Speaker 0

我也在赚钱。

And I also make some money.

Speaker 0

我觉得如果能多一点透明度,大家就能更好地沟通,更清楚地了解彼此在做什么,赚了多少钱——或者至少希望赚了多少钱。

And I think when you can put some transparency in there, maybe you can have some better conversations and some better understanding of who I'm working with and and the money they're making or hopefully making.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我想稍微提一下这一点。

Just to touch on that a little bit.

Speaker 1

在我做运力平台那会儿,真有这么回事。

In in my load board days, I literally this is a true story.

Speaker 1

我亲眼看到早上有几趟货在我们平台发布,但没标价格。

I watched a couple of loads, in the morning get posted on our board, and they were no rate.

Speaker 1

如果你和很多司机一样用多个平台找货,那可选的货源确实很多。

So if you and a lot of guys use multiple load boards, and there's it's a lot of op options out there to find a load.

Speaker 1

但我看到的是,一个经纪人在我们平台发布了几趟货,没标价格。

But what I watched was a broker post a couple of loads on our board, no rate.

Speaker 1

大概到中午,他们就把价格加上去了。

Probably by midday, they had a rate on them.

Speaker 1

我一整天都在盯着这些货的变化。

And, literally, I'm watching them over the course of the day.

Speaker 1

到了晚上,他们已经把运费涨了两三次。

And by the end of the day, they had raised that rate two or three times.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

这下他们就落后了。

So now they're behind the curve.

Speaker 1

得赶紧把货发出去。

They have to get it out.

Speaker 1

他们急着找人来拉货。

They're running they have to get somebody to haul it.

Speaker 1

结果只能付更高的加急运费。

So all of a sudden, they're paying more of an expedited rate now.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

这确实挺头疼的。

So that's challenging.

Speaker 1

这会直接吃掉你之前说的那点利润空间。

It eats into that margin you talked about.

Speaker 1

不过我还想跟你说件事,这其实是个很真实的例子。

But the other thing that that I wanna tell you, this is a, I guess, a true example.

Speaker 1

我们有个客户,是位经纪人,她特别喜欢Farelanes。

We have one of our clients, a broker, and she loves Farelanes.

Speaker 1

她说这是去年年底的事。

And she said this is at the end of last year.

Speaker 1

她跟我们说:嘿,各位。

She said, hey, guys.

Speaker 1

她这话是冲着我和我搭档说的。

And she was talking about me and my partner or whatever.

Speaker 1

她说,因为我这边会把我们准确的数据片段发给她的客户——那些承运方,说:嘿。

And she goes, I actually have closed more business because she will take snippets of our data, which is accurate, and send it to her clients, which were carriers and going, hey.

Speaker 1

这是Farelanes现在的市场价。

This is the going rate for Farelanes.

Speaker 1

她说,不是这样的。

And she goes, no.

Speaker 1

过去六个月里,我们成交的业务比以往任何时候都多,就是因为价格合理,而且是市场通行价。

We've closed more business in the last six months than we have previously just because there was it it was a fair price, and it was the going rate.

Speaker 1

她能及时把货载安排好并快速发运。

And she got the load covered and and moved it quicker.

Speaker 1

这就意味着她可以承运更多货载,就像坐飞机时,你查某个航线的票价。

So that just means she can move more loads because it's like the airlines when you go look at a a a city pair to go fly somewhere.

Speaker 1

你能看到所有航空公司给出的准确价格。

You've got the accurate price from all these different airlines.

Speaker 1

价格就明明白白地显示在网站上。

It's right there on the site.

Speaker 1

所以我们相信,运输行业正在向这种模式转变。

And so we believe we're moving into that type of a model for the transportation industry.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

就是他们率先推出了动态定价。

They're the ones who started dynamic pricing.

Speaker 0

所以这确实是真的。

So it's it's very true.

Speaker 0

而且我们还注意到,当你坐在飞机上时,如果你问任何人他们花了多少钱买票,似乎没有人付同样的价格。

And they we also noticed when you sit on a airplane that if you asked anybody what they paid, no one seems to pay the same price for the ticket.

Speaker 1

没错。

That's right.

Speaker 1

不过话说回来,他们确实买了。

But, again but they purchased that.

Speaker 1

他们觉得那个价格挺公道。

They thought it was a fair rate.

Speaker 1

而且说实话,我每年还得做几次这种事。

And listen, I still do it several times a year.

Speaker 1

我就是在买飞机票。

I'm buying seats on an airplane.

Speaker 0

是的

Yep.

Speaker 0

对,没错

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 0

是的

Yep.

Speaker 0

是的

Yep.

Speaker 0

我觉得回到你朋友——也就是你的客户——在做的事情上,他们是在发送一些短信息。

And I think getting back to what your friend your customer you're doing is sending snippets.

Speaker 0

我经常接到人的电话。

I hear from people, they call me.

Speaker 0

很多时候是承运方或者小经纪公司。

A lot of times it's carriers or small brokers.

Speaker 0

承运方经常给我打电话,他们用这个词——我只要好的货主货运,这其实是委婉地说不要经纪人。

And carriers often call me and they use this term, I just want good shipper freight, which is the euphemism for saying no brokers.

Speaker 0

而且我觉得很多人以为经纪人们赚了很多钱。

And I think a lot of them think the brokers are making a lot of money.

Speaker 0

但现在我们知道,经纪人们其实没赚多少,因为咱们都清楚现在的行情和数字。

Right now, we know brokers aren't making a lot of money because we're at the level you're at that because you see the numbers.

Speaker 0

但我经常跟很多人聊,情况并不是这样。

But we don't I talk to a lot of people.

Speaker 0

过去几年过得并不顺利。

It's not been a great couple years.

Speaker 0

但如果你是承运方,通常看不到货主实际付了多少钱,尤其是通过经纪人安排的货。

But if you're a carrier, you will oftentimes don't see what the shipper paid if it is brokered.

Speaker 0

不过,目前只有大约25%的货运是通过经纪人做的。

But I think there's only 25% of the freight is brokered.

Speaker 0

也就是说,大部分运输都是货主直接找承运方合作的。

So there's a lot of that is directly from a carrier from a shipper to a carrier.

Speaker 0

但很多货主,特别是大公司,哪怕小公司也一样,都希望确保自己不是只在六个合作方里挑了个最低价。

But, also, a lot of the shippers, they especially if you're in a big company, but even if you're a smaller company, you wanna make sure that I'm not just getting the best price among the six guys I work with.

Speaker 0

我想知道我拿到的是行业内最划算的价格,或者至少接近这个水平。

I wanna know that I'm getting the best price in the industry or close.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

当然。

For sure.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

所以,我们的目标是每天公布各种车型、各个城市对的运价。

So, again, our goal is to publish the rate on any given day, on any given equipment type, and and on on any given city pair.

Speaker 1

我们像其他行业玩家一样,每年有数十亿美元的支出,但我们特别注重数据的准确性。

So we have billions of dollars of spend just like some of the other players in the space do, but we are, again, we stand on that accuracy part.

Speaker 1

对货主来说,如果他们想自己安排车辆准时到码头装货,并确保货物准时送达,这中间肯定是有成本的。

For a shipper, if they wanna take on the kind of the the management burden of getting a truck backed up to a dock at a certain time to get that load loaded on his truck and then make sure it gets delivered on time, Obviously, there's a cost to doing that.

Speaker 1

所以,市场会自然分化:如果货主愿意承担这些管理负担,就自己操作;如果不愿承担这些额外开支,自然会找货运中介来处理。

And so the market will basically normalize if a shipper's gonna use do all that process or if they don't wanna take on that overhead, they'll obviously broker it out to a broker.

Speaker 1

所以我们为任何需要进行交易的人提供准确的价格。

So we provide accurate pricing for whoever needs to make the transaction.

Speaker 1

我们的另一个目标是,当一家保理公司签下一位承运人时,他们会说:承运人,听好了。

And our goal too is to really a factoring company, when they sign up a carrier, they really they say, look, carrier.

Speaker 1

去找一个报酬高的货载,做一下信用审核,把文件发给我们,我们来收购。

Go find a good paying load, run a credit check, and send us a paperwork, and we'll buy it.

Speaker 1

但很多承运人对这个领域还不够熟悉,尤其是不断有新人加入进来。

But a lot of the carriers and it depends on how mature they are in this space, but there's always new people coming in.

Speaker 1

他们常常问:什么样的路线报价才算合理?

They're like, what is a good what is a good lane rate?

Speaker 1

以前在货载平台时代,有司机打电话来,我就会问他们。

Like, when I had those guys call me back before on the load board days, I said I would ask them.

Speaker 1

我会问:你跑一英里路的成本是多少?

I said, how much does it cost to run your truck a mile down the road?

Speaker 1

你得确保这个货载能赚钱,别为了赶活儿而亏本接单。

You need to make sure you're making money, on that load, so don't take it for below cost on your side.

Speaker 1

乔,每当我看到路边抛锚的半挂车,我都会为他们祈祷,真的,我知道他们为了修好这辆车得花不少钱。

And, Joe, when I see a broken down 18 wheeler on the side of the road, I say a prayer for them, man, because I know they're going through a lot of money to get that truck running again.

Speaker 1

所以,Farelanes的使命,说白了,就是让交易中的每一方——司机、经纪商、发货方——都能获得清晰的信息,高效完成交易,运更多货。

So our Farelanes' mission, honestly, is to really provide that insight to everyone in the transaction, carrier, broker, shipper, and and let them make a good transaction efficiently and move more loads.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yep.

Speaker 0

那你们的数据是从哪儿来的?

So where do you get your information?

Speaker 0

是全靠经纪商提供的,还是现在已经有大量客户了?

Is it all from brokers or so you have a lot of customers now.

Speaker 0

你们也会从客户那里收集信息吗?

Are you also getting their information?

Speaker 1

这是个好问题。

So good question.

Speaker 1

我们另一个核心做法是,和银行以及保理公司合作,拥有独家渠道获取他们的数据。

And another one of our tenants is we partner with banks and factoring companies, and we have exclusive relationships to pull in their data.

Speaker 1

我们会对数据做匿名处理。

We anonymize it.

Speaker 1

我们并不想查出任何姓名或地址方面的信息。

We're not looking to find out any insights on names and and addresses.

Speaker 1

这一点在我们的工作中非常重要。

That's really an important aspect of what we do.

Speaker 1

不过,乔,我们主要和保理公司以及银行合作,这一点是显而易见的。

But what we do, Joe, is we partner with factoring companies and banks predominantly, obviously.

Speaker 1

我们不会从运输管理系统里抓取数据,也不会监听什么。

We don't pull in data from TMS's or and listen.

Speaker 1

很多人会说,嘿。

A lot of people say, hey.

Speaker 1

我们的数据干净又准确,这当然很好,但我们也清楚,这些数据都来自已支付的发票。

Our data is clean and accurate, which is good, but we know exactly that our data is coming from a purchased invoice.

Speaker 1

每一条都是独立的。

It's singular.

Speaker 1

所以这正是我们数据集的核心所在。

And so that's really the the the basis of of our dataset.

Speaker 1

然后,我们会对数据进行匿名化处理。

And then, we actually anonymize it.

Speaker 1

如果出现异常,比如某个路线通常运费是1800美元,突然出现一张4000美元的发票,我们就会把它筛掉,因为这不符合常态。

If there's an outlier, if we see a lane that's normally paying $1,800 and we see a $4,000 load, an invoice come through, we pull it out because that's not normal.

Speaker 1

我们用这些数据来帮助解决的一个重要问题,就是这个行业里欺诈行为太多了。

And one of the things we're using that data to help do, there's so much fraud in this space.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

所以我们开发了一个反欺诈API,给那些想用的大公司,让他们能在保理端验证所购买的发票,比如收到一个承运商的发票时,就能判断真假。

So what we've done is we created a fraud detection API for the bigger players that wanna use it, and they can validate the invoices that they're buying on the factoring side and and say, oh, if I get an invoice from a carrier and listen.

Speaker 1

上个周五我跟一个货运代理吃过午饭,他们最近丢了一单货。

I had lunch with a guy last Friday, a brokerage, and he basically they lost a load.

Speaker 1

有个 fraudulent 的承运商接了单,但根本没履约。

Somebody some fraudulent carrier picked it up.

Speaker 1

这是个稍微不同的问题,但归根结底,欺诈是双向的。

A little different issue, but at the end of the day, the fraud goes both ways.

Speaker 1

我们的目标就是帮企业判断发票是否存在潜在欺诈行为。

So our whole goal is to help companies know if there's a potential fraud on an invoice.

Speaker 1

我们有这个API,待会儿会讲讲我们是怎么落地这些解决方案的。

We have that API, and we'll talk in a minute about how we roll out our solutions.

Speaker 1

这确实是我们最核心的目标。

But that's really our goal.

Speaker 1

我们只从像保理银行这样的合作伙伴那里获取数据。

We don't take data from anyone but a factoring bank type part partner.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

这里面确实有优势,我待会儿跟你详细说说。

There's an advantage there, and I'm gonna talk to you about it.

Speaker 0

我们在开录之前聊过一点,大概有百分之二十的货运是通过经纪公司安排的。

And we blabbed about it a little bit before we hit the record button, but 20 some percent of freight is brokered.

Speaker 0

所以中间商也要分走一部分。

So a broker is getting a piece.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

如果中间商报的价格也被纳入了融资范围,那没问题。

So if a broker gave that's broker's price is probably the price that's also factored, and that's fine.

Speaker 0

但如果你合作的承运人有很多货都是通过中间商接的,他的数据可能没反映出货主实际支付的价格,因为中间商已经拿走了一部分。

But if you worked with a carrier who had a lot of his loads went through broker, his numbers might not reflect the price that the shipper paid because their broker took their piece.

Speaker 0

所以你得把这些信息区分开来。

And so you have to segment that information.

Speaker 0

我觉得这一直是我们行业的一大难题——获取准确的数据。

And I think that's always been one of the challenges in our business is getting data.

Speaker 0

这笔业务是通过中间商做的吗?

Is that brokered or not?

Speaker 0

我想搞清楚这一点。

I wanna know.

Speaker 0

但当你使用这些经过分成的数字时,那才是货主实际支付的价格。

But when you work with the factored numbers, that's what the shipper is paying.

Speaker 1

没错。

That's right.

Speaker 1

货主或者中间商支付的。

Shipper and or the broker.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

所以我们其实有一个基于AI的解决方案即将推出,它会从我们其中一个产品中提取数据,我们稍后会讲到,但我们的产品为用户提供了银、金、铂三个版本。

So so we actually have an AI based solution coming that'll pull out because it if and on one of our solutions, and and we'll get to it in a minute, but we have a silver, a gold, and a platinum version of our product for a user.

Speaker 1

但在金版和铂版中,我们实际上会分享详细的线路数据。

But on the gold and platinum version, we actually will share the actual detailed lane data.

Speaker 1

如果你仔细查看,你会发现有些数据你可能会说,好吧。

And if you look through it, you'll see some that you'll probably say, okay.

Speaker 1

这更像是合同价,而这个则是纯中介价。

That's more contracted rate, and this is gonna be a pure brokered rate.

Speaker 1

所以我们现在开始明确区分这些不同线路的价格类型。

So we're starting to literally delineate those types of, lane prices.

Speaker 1

但大多数情况下,你们在我们的线路定价中看到的,都是该线路在那个时间段的实际成交价。

But predominantly, what you'll see on our lane pricing is what was paid for that lane on that day time of year.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

这个我很喜欢。

I love that.

Speaker 0

真的很棒。

I love it.

Speaker 0

而且,很多时候,我们根本听不到这些信息。

And, again, so often, we don't hear it so much.

Speaker 0

但当我们第一次看到你们这样的解决方案时,大家经常提到‘经验传承’这个问题。

But when we first started seeing solutions like yours, there was a lot of talk of tribal knowledge.

Speaker 0

如果你想要扩大公司规模,总不能说:‘哦,我们有尼尔·霍夫曼,他知道所有线路的报价。’

And if you're trying to scale a company, you can't say, oh, I got Neal Huffman here, he knows what all these lanes cost.

Speaker 0

然后你打算开另一家分公司,这时候大家该找谁问Neal的联系方式呢?

And then you try and open another office, and now people are were they supposed to call Neal?

Speaker 0

结果Neal那天生病了,或者去度假了,整个业务就卡住了。

And Neal's sick that day, or he took a vacation, and now what our business doesn't run.

Speaker 0

这种做法不能说是错的。

You can't wrong way to say.

Speaker 0

隐性知识确实存在,也该有,但这里只是提供了更多数据支持。

You can have trouble knowledge, and you should, but this is just giving more information.

Speaker 0

你可能还是需要依赖Neal,但至少可以给他提供更多信息。

And so you might still depend on Neal, but you say, let's give Neal more information.

Speaker 0

我们都希望掌握更多信息,以便做出更好的决策。

We all want more information to make better decisions.

Speaker 0

这行本来就不容易。

And this is a tough business.

Speaker 0

自从疫情以来,我们一路走来都不容易。

We've gone ever since COVID.

Speaker 0

货运公司这段时间过得真不容易。

It's been a rough time for carriers.

Speaker 0

经纪公司也一样,日子很难熬。

It's been a rough time for brokers.

Speaker 0

但对货主来说,这倒是个好时候。

Good time for shippers.

Speaker 0

我们看到很多货运经纪公司都撑不下去了。

And and we've seen a lot of freight brokers.

Speaker 0

我朋友凯文·希尔在布什帕斯说,有五千家货运经纪公司倒闭了,不少运输公司也关门了。

I think 5,000 freight brokers went out of business according to my buddy, Kevin Hill, over at Brush Pass, and a lot of carriers have gone out of business.

Speaker 0

这些倒闭的企业,没一个是赚太多钱才撑不下去的。

And none of the people who went out of business went out of business because they made too much money.

Speaker 0

他们可能是定价太低,或者拿不到合适的运费,这时候你就更需要像你这样的产品,确保每条线路都能赚到该赚的钱。

They were probably underpricing sometimes or not able to get the right price for the freight, and maybe that's and then you gotta afford a product like yours to make sure you're actually making the money you're supposed to make on lanes.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我们认为最后一次聆听。

We believe that the last listen.

Speaker 1

过去四五年里,很多事情都颠倒了。

There's a lot of things that have been upside down the last four or five years.

Speaker 1

当人们赚到你可以说是一笔横财的时候,人人都想挤进来。

And when people are making what you you could say stupid money, then everybody's gonna try and do it.

Speaker 1

结果市场变得过度饱和,如果你的运营不够精准高效,尤其是作为承运方,稍微一出错就没了利润空间。

So it overpopulates the players, and it doesn't take much to just run out of that that margin profitability if you're not running your business succinctly and and accurately and correctly, especially on the carrier side.

Speaker 1

真的不需要多少事,承运方就完蛋了,因为他们被检查了。

Again, it doesn't take much, and a carrier is is is toast because they they didn't they're getting inspected.

Speaker 1

他们被停业了。

They're getting shut down.

Speaker 1

所有这些因素都叠加在一起。

All that stuff plays into it.

Speaker 1

这行真的很难做。

It's a tough business.

Speaker 1

我们的目标很简单,乔,就是把支付和运价这部分简化,让它变得顺畅好用。

Our whole goal, Joe, is to provide to take that payment side, that lane rate side, and make it easy and make it hey.

Speaker 1

我有个运价。

I I got a lane rate.

Speaker 1

我会把它放到合适的地方,不管是发给承运商,还是挂到货运平台上。

I put it wherever I'm gonna put it, either it's on the phone to a carrier or it's out on a load board.

Speaker 1

你就能把货都安排妥当。

You get the you'll get your loads covered.

Speaker 1

我们相信,如果每个人都能公平地做生意,货运自然就动起来了。

We believe if everybody is getting their business taken care of fairly, then they're gonna move freight.

Speaker 1

大家都能有利润,这才是正常的。

They're gonna have a margin, and everybody should make a margin.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

但不该出现一个货赚70%,另一个却只赚5%的情况。

But it shouldn't be where you make 70% on one load and maybe 5% on another.

Speaker 1

也许需要做个统一标准。

Maybe it needs to be normalized.

Speaker 1

只要有个市场行情显示,货运就能顺利流转。

And just you have that market ticker, and it allows for that that freight to get moved.

Speaker 1

这样透明度高,每个人都知道自己该做什么。

It shows transparency, and everybody knows what their job is.

Speaker 0

对。

Yep.

Speaker 0

几年前有个人上过我的播客,他说过这么一句话。

Somebody was on my podcast a a few years ago and said this.

Speaker 0

他说,如果你看看所有承运商,然后说,好吧。

He said, if you look at all the carriers and you said, okay.

Speaker 0

这条线路,或者全国范围内的货运,平均利润是多少。

Here is the average margin for freight across this lane or across the whole country for that matter.

Speaker 0

我们说中位数,不是平均数。

Let's just say median, not not average.

展开剩余字幕(还有 384 条)
Speaker 0

一半会高于这个数,一半会低于这个数。

Half will be above it and half will half will be below.

Speaker 0

那如果你的公司正好在下面呢?

And what if you're the company that is below?

Speaker 0

然后你发现,天哪。

And then when you find out, oh my god.

Speaker 0

我们不只是稍微低一点。

We're not just a little below.

Speaker 0

我们是差得太多了。

We're way below.

Speaker 0

我们到底哪里出了问题?

What are we doing?

Speaker 0

如果你的承运商告诉你,我们当时是怎么做的。

And and and if your carrier might say, I'll tell you what we did.

Speaker 0

我们的卡车跑错了路线。

We are we have our trucks in the wrong lane.

Speaker 0

我们在运货,也在服务客户,但这条线路的竞争太激烈了。

We're we're we're moving freight, and we're serving customers, but there's too much competition in this lane.

Speaker 0

咱们换个线路吧,那边赚钱的机会更多。

Let's move to these lanes because there's more money to be made.

Speaker 0

市场本来就应该这样运转才对。

And that's the way the market is always supposed to work.

Speaker 0

但说实话吧。

But let's face it.

Speaker 0

大家都忙得不可开交。

We're all busy.

Speaker 0

很多时候,我们根本没空问自己:为什么赚得这么少?

We don't always have a chance to say, why am I not making more money?

Speaker 1

乔,你听我说。

Joe, that's listen.

Speaker 1

你提的这点特别好,我们其实已经在分析模块里加了好几个功能,提醒用户说:嘿。

You bring up a great point, and we actually we've added several features into our analytics portion that says, hey.

Speaker 1

我就是想看看过去三十天全国范围内报酬最高的运输线路,正是出于这个原因。

I wanna see the top paying lanes across the country on the last thirty days just for that reason.

Speaker 1

所以,哪怕你是个只有十辆、三十辆,甚至五十辆车的小型承运商,也能根据哪些高报酬线路在赚钱,来调整你的车辆调度。

So if I'm a small carrier with 30 trucks or 50 trucks or even 10 trucks, I can start moving them around based on where those high paying lanes are are getting paid.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

我们在Farelanes里已经实现了这个功能,我们的目标就是为客户提供这样的洞察,让他们在货运支出上能有更多赚钱的机会。

So we have that ability to do that in Farelanes, and so our goal is to is to be able to provide that insight to our clients so that we give them every opportunity to make more money with their freight spend.

Speaker 1

我们还在添加其他功能,当然很想多分享一些,但我们的核心目标,就是为这个目的提供数据分析。

And so there's other things that we're adding that we would love to share, obviously, more, but our whole goal is to provide analytics just for that reason.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yep.

Speaker 0

顺便说一句,如果你是承运商,调整路线后收入提高了,但又不需要那么多钱,你大可把多余的部分扔掉。

And by the way, if you're a carrier and you do move and you start making more money and you don't need that money, you can just throw it away.

Speaker 1

明白吗?

Alright?

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

这难道不是个好问题吗?

And wouldn't that be a good problem to have?

Speaker 0

对

Yes.

Speaker 0

没错

Exactly.

Speaker 1

天哪

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1

这周赚了太多钱了。

Made so much money this week.

Speaker 1

所以,我们真的觉得找到了方向。

So, again, we we believe we're onto something.

Speaker 1

过去几个月里我们接到的那些电话,就像你刚才说的,我实在没法再重复一遍了。

The calls we've had in the last couple of months and the like you again, I just can't go back to echoing what you said upfront.

Speaker 1

我们从客户和潜在客户那里听到,他们需要了解这条线路的定价动态。

We're we're hearing from the clients and potential clients about the need to have insight into this lane pricing development.

Speaker 1

说实话,这之前确实挺乱的,但随着时间推移,我们正努力消除这些模糊之处。

And it's been a mess, to be honest with you, but I think over over time, we're trying to remove some of that fuzziness.

Speaker 0

我们之前聊过承运商的事。

So we talked about the carriers.

Speaker 0

如果你是承运商,开始使用Farelanes后,可能会更清楚自己该为这条线路拿到多少钱。

Again, if you're a carrier and you start using Farelanes, it can potentially help you understand what you're should be getting paid for that lane.

Speaker 0

但同时,它也可能让你意识到:该退出这条线了。

But, also, maybe it helps you say, let's get out of this.

Speaker 0

别再做那三条回报太低的线路了。

Let's get out of these three lanes that are not paying us enough.

Speaker 0

去别处找点生意吧。

Let's find business over here.

Speaker 0

顺便说一句,你可能还会发现自己在想:嘿。

And by the way, you might also find yourself saying, hey.

Speaker 0

我们目前做得还不错。

We we're doing pretty good.

Speaker 0

我很喜欢我们现在的做法。

I like what we're doing here.

Speaker 0

你可能会觉得挺安心的。

You might be very comfortable.

Speaker 0

这确实是个不错的位置。

It'd be a nice place to be.

Speaker 0

说到货运中介,情况也差不多。

Now when talking about brokers, it's very similar situation.

Speaker 0

中介总是希望以合适的价格进货,再以合适的价格卖出。

Brokers are always interested in buying for the right price and selling for the right price.

Speaker 0

他们在卖出之前,得先知道这条线路的成本是多少。

They need to know what that lane costs before they sell it.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

关于这个,我简单说一下,因为我多年前就了解到,很多经纪人的商业模式是,一大早就开始拼命干活。

So just real quick on that because one of the one of the things also I learned years ago is a lot of brokers, their business model is, man, they hustle in the morning.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

从早上六点到中午,他们忙着抢运单。

From 06:00 till noon, they are hustling to get those loads covered.

Speaker 1

但很多客户早上会发一份表格给他们,说:嘿,尼尔。

But a lot of their clients will send them a spreadsheet in the morning and go, hey, Neal.

Speaker 1

我这里有二十个货载,要运到十个不同的城市对。

I've got twenty twenty lanes or 20 loads I need to move, and they're going to all these 10 different city pairs.

Speaker 1

这个经纪人得赶紧算出每个路线的合理价格,而且必须快,因为发货方同时把表格发给了三四家其他经纪人,说:

That broker, he's gotta figure out what is the right price for those different lanes, and they gotta do it fairly quick because their shippers have sent these spreadsheets out to probably three or four other brokers to say, hey.

Speaker 1

你们互相竞争吧。

You know, y'all compete.

Speaker 1

我们产品里有个叫RFQ的功能,能让客户——也就是经纪人——直接上传表格,系统在大约四十五秒内,就能给出过去三十天这些路线的准确运价。

We have a we have a solution in our product called RFQ, and we literally can allow our clients, brokers, to upload a spreadsheet and come back with a an accurate lane rate for the last thirty days on those 10 different pairs in probably forty five seconds.

Speaker 1

最妙的是我们能帮他们更快地给客户回复准确的路线报价,还能做到心中有数。

So the beauty is we can help them respond to their clients quicker with accurate lane pricing knowing that, hey.

Speaker 1

这条路线现在的行情价就是这样,我这边能给出的方案也很清楚。

That's what that lane's paying right now, and here's what I can do.

Speaker 1

这样他们就能更快地给客户做出更靠谱的业务决策。

And they can make a a better, quicker business decision with their clients.

Speaker 1

所以我们对这个功能感到非常满意。

And so we're excited about that.

Speaker 1

我们的金卡和白金版里就有这个功能,很多客户都很喜欢,因为它能大大加快他们早上安排运输的速度。

We have that in our gold and platinum version, and a lot of clients love it because it speeds up their morning process of getting their loads covered.

Speaker 0

顺便提一下,我以前也这么干过,虽然现在这种做法不太被提倡,但当你想知道某条线路的成本时,你会打几个承运商的电话。

And by the way, also, I've done this, and and I think it's frowned upon now, but where you're trying to understand what a lane costs, so you call a few carriers.

Speaker 0

他们不太喜欢你这种纯粹用来比价的行为。

And they don't like it when you're basically price checking.

Speaker 0

不过,如果你经常给他们带来大量业务,他们就会说,好吧。

And now if you're giving them a lot of business on a regular basis and they say, okay.

Speaker 0

好的,乔。

Alright, Joe.

Speaker 0

你可以浪费我们一点时间,谁知道呢?

You can waste a little bit of our time because who knows?

Speaker 0

说不定最后还真能成事。

That might end up being something.

Speaker 0

我们多试几次,他们可能根本拿不到单,也许他们在那条线上根本没价格优势。

We could do it enough times and they don't get the business because maybe they're not even competitive in that lane.

Speaker 0

你其实并不清楚。

You don't know that.

Speaker 0

你不知道,而且你也不知道自己拿到的报价是不是真的。

You don't know and you also don't know if you're getting a price that hey.

Speaker 0

我们报了个价。

We're giving you a price.

Speaker 0

其实我们并不真想接这条线,但如果你给的量大,我们也可以做。

We don't really want that lane, but we'll do it if you give us a lot.

Speaker 0

旧方法的问题就在于,你的好坏全靠打过多少电话、认识多少人脉,但你还得求人,而且是求个大忙。

And that's the problem with the old way of doing it is you're only as good as the phone calls you made and the connections you have in the business, but you're also you're asking a favor and a big favor.

Speaker 0

那些穷困的中介天天打电话,他们知道对方根本没必要接,说不定我都已经惹烦了——问了十次价格,却从来没给过对方任何回报。

So broke brokers who are making those phone calls, they know that that guy doesn't have to answer the phone, and maybe I've worn out my welcome because I asked him for 10 different prices and I haven't given him anything.

Speaker 0

这正是我们面临的难题,没人愿意浪费合作伙伴的时间。

And that's the problem we have, and nobody wants to waste time of their partners.

Speaker 0

所以如果我用Farelanes,我马上就知道自己该付多少钱了。

So if I'm working with Farelanes, you go, oh, now I know what I should be paying.

Speaker 0

我不用浪费时间,也不用打一打 dozen 个电话。

So I don't have to waste time, and I don't have to make a dozen phone calls.

Speaker 0

客户一问,啪,

The customer asks, boom.

Speaker 0

答案就出来了。

Here's the answer.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我们常说,嘿。

We like to say, hey.

Speaker 1

这就是Farelanes的报价。

We there's this is the Farelanes rate.

Speaker 1

你刚才提到了BCS。

So you mentioned BCS earlier.

Speaker 1

经纪人与承运人峰会。

Broker carrier summit.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我参加过在沃斯堡举办的那场。

I I attended the one in Fort Worth.

Speaker 1

我特别喜欢。

I loved it.

Speaker 1

我发现参会的主要是承运商和经纪人。

And I really found that the care and really it's carriers and brokers that are at the conference.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

他们很喜欢,因为彼此之间能交流。

They loved it because they're meeting with each other.

Speaker 1

他们想了解对方的业务,互相帮忙。

They're looking for insight into each other's business to help each other.

Speaker 1

所以我们当时在会上做了几个演示,有个挺有意思的事。

And so we actually did a few demos there, and here's what was interesting.

Speaker 1

我们坐在其中一个宴会厅的会议桌旁,有几个承运人过来说。

We we actually sat at a conference table in one of the ballrooms there, and we had some carriers that are going, hey.

Speaker 1

我跑这条线路。

I run this lane.

Speaker 1

把数据调出来看看。

Pull it up.

Speaker 1

我们就用应用把数据调出来,他们就说,天哪。

And we would pull it up on our app, and they'd go, oh my goodness.

Speaker 1

我这是在白白错过赚钱的机会。

I'm leaving money on the table.

Speaker 1

他们根本不知道从威斯康星州梅诺米尼到芝加哥的牛奶运输路线,最近三天的行情。

So they didn't know the last three days on a milk run from Menomie, Wisconsin to Chicago.

Speaker 1

拥有这样的信息太有用了。

And having that insight is powerful.

Speaker 1

当然,这说的是我们这条线路的运价。

Now, again, that's our lane rate.

Speaker 1

最终,不管是货代还是承运方,总得有人拍板说:我接这个价。

At the end of the day, somebody's gonna make a deal from the broker side and or the carrier side to say, I'll take it for that.

Speaker 1

我愿意少收五十块。

I'll take it for $50 less.

Speaker 1

市场一变,我们的报价就跟着调整。

And the market, as it changes, we reflect that.

Speaker 0

我们之前聊了点关于承运方的事。

So we talked a little bit about carriers.

Speaker 0

我们之前聊到了经纪人,你们的两类客户。

We talked about brokers, both of your customers.

Speaker 0

那货主呢?他们为什么用Farelanes,又是怎么用的?

Now shippers, why are they using Farelanes, and how are they using it?

Speaker 1

我们也是出于同样的原因。

So we for the same reason.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

前面我们其实提到过。

So we touched on it earlier.

Speaker 1

如果一家货主一年在货运上的支出达到一定规模,他们可能会重新考虑商业模式,心想:

If a shipper has x amount of spend over the course of a year for their freight, they might rethink the business equation and go, hey.

Speaker 1

我可以把其中一部分支出拿过来自己管理,毕竟这些路线像我们之前说的那样稳定。

I can take part of that spend and I can manage it myself because it's more of a a steady lane like we touched on earlier.

Speaker 1

但至少现在,他们能获得这样的洞察:

But now they'll at least have the insight on going, hey.

Speaker 1

这是当前的运价,我能算出这笔账,自己操作是否更划算吗?

This is what the rate is, and can I calculate that into my and make it worth my while to do that myself?

Speaker 1

关键在于这家公司是否愿意亲自管理这部分产品配送工作。

It's really what that company's palatability is for managing that part of getting their products out to the market.

Speaker 1

他们在成本控制、卡车费用这些方面,遇到的问题其实和我们一样。

So they have this they have the same issues as far as cost control, truck costs, all that stuff.

Speaker 1

但如今市场上出现的新解决方案,比如集成了货运追踪的运输管理系统,正在改变这一切。

But the solutions that are be coming available on the market today, the TMS is with the integrated freight tracing.

Speaker 1

上周我们和一位合作伙伴,或者说是潜在合作伙伴聊了聊,他们说:

Now we we talked to a a partner or a potential partner last week, and they're like, hey.

Speaker 1

我们需要把线路定价功能整合进我们的系统,好帮货主实现这一点。

We need the lane pricing to add to our solution to do exactly that for the shipper side.

Speaker 1

这个领域正在经历一场有趣的转变,但无论是货主、承运方还是中介,大家都想要同样的数据洞察——而这正是我们能提供的。

So it's a it's an interesting migration in this space, but every one of those tiers, shipper, carrier, broker, they all wanna they want that data insight, which is what we bring to the table.

Speaker 0

尼尔,假如你和我负责一家大型货主企业,我们会说:

Neal, if you and I were responsible at a big shipper and we said, hey.

Speaker 0

咱们来画一条趋势线,看看这些不同线路的运费变化,我敢打赌,用像Farelanes这样的工具一叠加,就能清楚看到情况。

Let's put a let's put a trend line on what we're paying for all these different lanes, I'm pretty sure we would find a solution like Farelanes to overlay that and say, okay.

Speaker 0

我们现在的表现怎么样?

How are we doing?

Speaker 0

我老是说同样一句话。

And by the way, I always say the same thing.

Speaker 0

我只是想确保自己跟大方向保持一致。

I just wanna make sure I'm I'm parallel.

Speaker 0

如果运费在下降,我希望我们的价格要么稍微高一点,要么稍微低一点,但总体上别偏离这条趋势线太远。

So if if the rates are going down, I wanna make sure we're just above it or just below it, but more or less staying parallel to that lane.

Speaker 0

我可不想突然发现,天哪。

I never wanna find out that, oh my god.

Speaker 0

市场价格都降了,我们还在付更高的价钱。

The market prices went lower, and I'm still paying higher.

Speaker 0

所以当我们去见老板的时候,就说:

And so when we go to see the boss and say, hey.

Speaker 0

我们目前的情况是这样。

Here's how we're doing.

Speaker 0

他问,市场现在怎么样?

He says, what's the market doing?

Speaker 0

我们回答,正好在南边这条线上。

And we go, it's right here at the Southern line.

Speaker 0

他一听,哦,明白了。

And he goes, oh, okay.

Speaker 0

所以你们做得不错。

So you guys are doing pretty good.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

另外,如果我们稍微高一点,那是因为我们货品的特性决定的。

And then by the way, if we're a little over it you know, the reason we're a little over it is the nature of our freight.

Speaker 0

我们很多货都有预约时间,或者需要升降平台之类的。

We got a lot of appointments on our freight, or we got a lot of lift gates or whatever it is.

Speaker 0

我们可以解释为什么超了2%、5%,或者低了2%。

We can explain why we're 2% over or 5% over or 2% under.

Speaker 0

这只是一个对话的开始。

It's the beginning of a conversation.

Speaker 0

这些数据对我们来说,就是用来做这个的。

That's what all this data is for us.

Speaker 1

没错。

It is.

Speaker 1

电脑接收数据,处理一下,再输出结果。

And so, you know, a computer takes in stuff and it and then it massages it and then it spits it out.

Speaker 1

归根结底,它还是数据。

It's still data.

Speaker 1

但最终,总得有人拿这些数据来做有依据的决策。

Somebody but at the end of the day, somebody can take that and make informed decisions off of it.

Speaker 1

所以我们在Farelanes的黄金铂金版里,特别引入了趋势线功能。

So one of the things we're excited about in Farelanes is on our golden platinum versions, we actually have trend lines.

Speaker 1

我们每天都在处理成千上万张采购发票,不断更新我们的数据集,这真的让人惊叹。

And so the fact that we're every day taking in thousands and thousands of purchased invoices and populating our datasets, wow.

Speaker 1

这种实时洞察不仅动态迅速,而且覆盖全国范围。

That's really dynamic and fast paced insight on the current market rates but but across the country.

Speaker 1

现在市面上很多解决方案都做预测性定价。

And so a lot of solutions out there, they do predictive type of pricing.

Speaker 1

它们用加减法估算,但数据可能有点过时,具体也不太清楚。

They do plus or minus, and some of their data is maybe a little bit aged, but you're not sure.

Speaker 1

我们相信,拥有准确的实时数据,将会带来颠覆性的改变。

And so we believe having accurate real time data is gonna be a game changer.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yep.

Speaker 0

我想换个话题,聊聊如果有人在听,不管是承运方、经纪方还是发货方,听到这些觉得不错的话。

So I wanna switch gears, and I wanna talk about if somebody's listening, if if they're a carrier, broker, shipper, and they say, yes.

Speaker 0

这听起来不错。

This sounds good.

Speaker 0

这正是我需要的。

This is what I need.

Speaker 0

实施起来是什么样的?

What does the implementation look like?

Speaker 0

从他们联系尼尔开始,到能用上高质量数据,大概需要多长时间?

Is what's how long does it take from the time they call Neal to the time there's they're having good data?

Speaker 0

你们是怎么获取这些数据的?他们又是怎么接入的?

And how do you access or how do they access it?

Speaker 0

是通过他们的运输管理系统,还是另一个独立平台?

Is it coming through their TMS or separate platform?

Speaker 1

不是的。

No.

Speaker 1

当然了。

Absolutely.

Speaker 1

问得好。

Good question.

Speaker 1

我们的好处是,访问数据的方式有很多种,安装起来只需要几分钟。

So we have the beauty is we have multiple ways to access our data, and it takes minutes and and minutes to actually install it.

Speaker 1

我们有一个网页应用。

So we have a web app.

Speaker 1

网址是 fairlanes.com。

It's fairlanes.com.

Speaker 1

你只要去那里点一下,就能了解更多。

If you go there and click on it, you'll find out more about it.

Speaker 1

我们还有一个协作者方案,比如货运公司注册账户后,可以直接用手机操作。

But we have a copilot solution that literally if somebody signs up for an account like a carrier, they can run it off their smartphone.

Speaker 1

他们注册后,十五分钟内就能开始使用。

They could sign up and and be running up in fifteen minutes.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

他们还能用手机查询全国各个运输路线。

And they can look up lanes all over the country on the smartphone.

Speaker 1

如果他们有调度员或者后台团队,可以用我们的银牌、金牌或白金版桌面系统。

If they have a a dispatcher or a back office, they can run our silver, gold, or platinum desktop.

Speaker 1

就像彭博社的实时行情屏一样。

It's like a it's almost like a Bloomberg ticker.

Speaker 1

他们可以自定义界面。

They can customize it.

Speaker 1

能全天候监控运价路线。

They can monitor lanes twenty four seven.

Speaker 1

路线价格和其他数据都会实时更新。

The data changes on the lane rates and all that.

Speaker 1

如果是大公司,而且已经有自己的IT后台系统,我们提供API接口、FTP数据推送,新客户三十分钟内就能接入我们的API开始使用。

Now if you're a bigger company and we have partners that that have their own IT back office solutions, we have APIs, We have FTP data drops, and we can sign up a client and have them working with our API in thirty minutes.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

所以我们已经投入实际使用了。

So we're in production.

Speaker 1

我们现在正开始与合作伙伴和客户更快速地讨论他们如何接入我们的数据。

We are now starting to have quicker conversations with partners and clients about them getting access to our data.

Speaker 1

我们可以帮助小型、中型和大型企业,真正搞清楚全国各条线路的运费情况。

And so we can support small, medium, and large type companies to really become intelligent about the what lanes are paying on across the country.

Speaker 0

所以我可以通过多种方式访问这些数据。

So I can access it all in a number of different ways.

Speaker 0

你能把这个加进去吗?

Could you could put that in.

Speaker 0

如果我想的话,能把它导入我的运输管理系统吗?

Can I pull that in to my TMS if I wanted?

Speaker 1

当然可以。

Absolutely.

Speaker 1

目前我们已经和多个运输管理系统实现了集成。当调度员在系统里安排或发布货载时,我们会直接显示该线路的运费,他们就能当场判断,比如:‘哦,明白了。’

So we actually are integrated today with several multiple TMSs, and what they do is literally inside the TMS when they when their dispatchers go to book a load or or post a load, we pull up our lane rates on that lane, and they can again, they have, yeah, they have the ability right then and there to say, oh, okay.

Speaker 1

Farelanes 的这个报价就是这样。

It's Farelanes is this rate.

Speaker 1

也许他们会以Farelanes价格低5%来操作。

Maybe they're gonna go in at Farelanes minus 5%.

Speaker 1

这由他们自己决定。

That's up to them.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

这是他们业务层面可以自主决定的事。

That's the business side that they get to make the decision on.

Speaker 1

没错,完全没问题。

And so, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 1

他们确实有这个权限,同时我们也在不断寻找新的合作伙伴。

They have the ability to do that, and we're always seeking new partners as well.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

如果有人用的TMS我们还没对接,比如这种情况,我们就会说,那我们现在就来集成。

So if somebody's we had a different TMS that you guys aren't currently integrated to you, like, you might say, we'll integrate it now.

Speaker 1

当然。

Absolutely.

Speaker 1

我们很乐意进行这样的对话。

We we would be happy to have that conversation.

Speaker 0

我还得提一下,市面上有太多运输管理系统了。

And I should also mention that there are so many TMSs out there, transportation management systems.

Speaker 0

我觉得几乎所有新系统都是基于这样一个理念设计的,就是我要打造一些所谓的‘杀手级应用’。

And I think virtually all the new ones are built with the idea that we're going to have, I call them, the killer apps.

Speaker 0

就是高速公路。

It's the highways.

Speaker 0

就是Farelanes。

It's the Farelanes.

Speaker 0

就是那些你必须追踪货物位置、需要可视化解决方案的公司。

It's the all those companies that you say, I need to track where my stuff at the visibility solutions.

Speaker 0

我们得把这些成打的‘杀手级应用’都集成到我们的运输管理系统里。

There's a dozens of these killer apps that we have to add to our transportation management systems.

Speaker 0

据我了解,就连那些处理着数十亿笔交易的老旧系统,虽然更新起来不容易,但它们已经搭建了集成层,让你们这样的公司能够接入。

And from what I understand, even some of the older legacy systems that have billions of transactions in them, Not easy to update those softwares, but I think they've created integration layers so companies like yours can plug in.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

这点说得很好。

So that's a good point.

Speaker 1

有意思的是,现在出现了一些我们称之为中间件或集成型的解决方案,帮助旧系统过渡到新时代,同时也让那些自带API层的新系统更好地发挥作用。

What's fun to see is there's some we call them middleware or integrator type solutions that help the old solutions move into the new world order and the the ones that are new out there that have that API layer.

Speaker 1

API这个词现在可真是关键。

And the API is a killer term.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

它确实大大简化了与合作伙伴的对接,让这些解决方案能提供更强的功能和更大的能力。

But it really it really simplifies the ability to connect with partners to provide more capability, more power to their solutions.

Speaker 1

而我们的目标,从一开始就明确要实现这一点。

And, really, that's our goal is to be able to and we're from the ground up.

Speaker 1

我们就是这样。

That's how we are.

Speaker 1

我们随时可以启动,也很乐意继续聊。

We're ready to go and happy to have the conversation.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yep.

Speaker 0

你刚才说,这个可以很快落地?

So you said we can implement this very quickly.

Speaker 0

这个过程中需要培训吗?或者有什么规范?

Is there training that goes with this, or is there rules?

Speaker 0

现在他们能访问这些数据,看起来是个很有价值的集合,我们怎么确保能真正用好它?

How do we make sure that data that they're now I have access to, which it seems like a powerful dataset, how do we make sure we're actually using it in a way that's useful?

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

这点说得很好。

So good point.

Speaker 1

所以我们设计Farelanes时,特别注重直观易用,它会主动引导你操作。

So we've really designed Farelanes to be very intuitive and meaning that it prompts you.

Speaker 1

说实话,乔,年轻一代用这些应用的水平,比我强太多了。

And listen, the younger generation, Joe, they're miles ahead of me on how to use these apps.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

不过我们确实准备了一些简短的示例,教你怎么设置这个功能或者那个功能。

But at the end of the day, we do have some little short vignettes on how to provision this or provision that.

Speaker 1

但我敢保证,对用户来说,用起来非常简单。

But I guarantee you, it's easy to use and for the user.

Speaker 1

至于技术层面,比如API、FTP传输这些,确实更专业一点,但那是IT团队的活儿,他们本来就懂这些术语。

And then on the the technical side, when you start talking about an API or an FTP drop or whatever, Little more technical, but that's an IT shop and those guys speak the language.

Speaker 1

所以最终,就是在TMS系统或者他们的后台系统里,做个用户界面的对接集成。

And so then it becomes a user interface or UI type integration on the TMS or their back office.

Speaker 1

但不管哪一边,我们都能提供支持。

But, again, we're we're positioned to help them on either side of that.

Speaker 0

这让我想起,我朋友Ed在替换一个服务零件订购系统时,给IT团队的指示是:做成亚马逊那样的。

It reminds me, my friend Ed was replacing a service parts ordering system, and his instructions to the IT team was, it will be Amazon.

Speaker 0

你要让它尽可能看起来像亚马逊。

You will make it it will look as much like Amazon as possible.

Speaker 0

然后他让全球各地的分销商都说,嘿。

And then he had all these distributors around all around the world say, hey.

Speaker 0

培训什么时候开始?

When's the training?

Speaker 0

他说,没有培训。

And he says, there's no training.

Speaker 0

他们当时就愣了。

And they were like, wait.

Speaker 0

我们需要培训。

We need training.

Speaker 0

因为他们习惯了以前那些笨重的老系统,比如按8进成本界面,按6做这个操作之类的。

Because they were used to the press 8 to go to the cost screen, press 6 for this, right, and the clunky old systems.

Speaker 0

所以我觉得,我之前没来得及说,但现在再强调一遍:我们期待的是消费级的技术。

And so I think the expectations that I haven't set it in a minute, but I'm saying it again, we expect consumer grade technology.

Speaker 0

不管是打车软件Lyft,还是达美乐的App,只要是消费级的技术,都得简单易用。

And consumer grade technology, whether it's Lyft or the Domino's app, whatever it is, it is simple.

Speaker 0

我不久前才跟别人说过这话。

And I I've said this to somebody not so long ago.

Speaker 0

我参加一个会议的时候,想下载一个App,通过手机共享我的信息。

I was at a conference, and I wanted to order I wanted an app that I wanted to download that would share my information through my phone.

Speaker 0

我记得当时正坐在那儿看电视,顺手掏出手机。

And I remember just sitting there watching TV, and I pulled up my phone.

Speaker 0

我心想:我的眼镜呢?

I was like, where's my glasses?

Speaker 0

我没戴眼镜。

I didn't have my glasses.

Speaker 0

但我还是顺利买下了那个App,下载到了手机上,全程都没戴眼镜。

I was able to buy that app, download it onto my phone without putting my glasses on.

Speaker 0

我总觉得这很让人惊讶,因为以前大家会觉得,只要能兼容我的安卓系统就行——抱歉,苹果用户。

And I always think that is shocking because it used to be like, if it's compatible with my Android I apologize, Apple people.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

这很棒。

That's great.

Speaker 1

我特别喜欢不用戴眼镜这个点。

I love the no glasses.

Speaker 1

这真是个新概念,乔,你可以给它起个名字。

That's really that's something new we could coin, Joe.

Speaker 1

你来想个名字吧。

You coin that.

Speaker 0

但这本来就是理所当然的期望。

That's an expectation, though.

Speaker 0

如果某个应用能——对。

Is if some Yeah.

Speaker 1

不戴眼镜就能开启。

No glasses turn on.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

而且这挺有意思的。

And if and it's funny.

Speaker 0

时不时有人会说,我们的应用上了苹果平台,但没上安卓,你一听就懵了。

Every once in a while when somebody says, oh, our app is on the Apple but not on Android, you're like, what?

Speaker 0

你们到底在搞什么?

What the hell are you doing?

Speaker 1

对啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

这真是致命的。

That's a killer.

Speaker 1

不是。

No.

Speaker 1

这行不通。

It ain't gonna work.

Speaker 0

不过这事还挺有意思。

And it it's a funny thing, though.

Speaker 0

我们想要的是消费级科技,必须直观、简洁,一步都不能多。

We want consumer grade technology, which has to be intuitive, has to be very elegant, no extra steps.

Speaker 0

期望是不一样的。

Not the expectations are different.

Speaker 1

对。

Yep.

Speaker 1

不对。

No.

Speaker 1

这么说太到位了。

That's a great way to phrase it, man.

Speaker 1

我喜欢这个说法。

I like that.

Speaker 1

我

I

Speaker 0

我可没编造这些。

I didn't make any of this up.

Speaker 0

我听其他嘉宾怎么说,然后我就用他们的方式表达出来。

I listen to my other guests, then I say it like I'm

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my goodness.

Speaker 1

我喜欢这个说法。

I like that.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

总之,你听好了。

Anyway, well, listen.

Speaker 1

我在分享的时候漏掉了什么吗?

What have I missed in sharing?

Speaker 2

哦,你之前提到过你们有好几种套餐。

Oh, you you you mentioned a few different packages you have.

Speaker 2

那你们具体都有哪些套餐呢?

So what are the different packages you have?

Speaker 1

我们在网页端主要有基础版和Copilot版。

So we have base there's on our web app side, we have Copilot.

Speaker 1

Copilot版每月9.95美元,主要是给承运商用的。

We sell that for $9.95 a month, and that's for a carrier.

Speaker 1

银版每月49.95美元,适合经纪商、承运商和货主使用。

We have silver for $49.95 a month, and that's for broker carrier shipper.

Speaker 1

任何人都能用。

Everybody can use it.

Speaker 1

只要你买了银版、金版或者白金版,都会自动获得Copilot的访问权限。

And any of the silver, gold, or platinum versions that you buy, you automatically get pull pilot access to Copilot.

Speaker 1

比如说,如果一家承运商买了金版,他们的所有司机都能用手机上的Copilot应用。

So, literally, for example, if a carrier bought gold, which we have, then all of their drivers can use the Copilot app off of their smartphone.

Speaker 1

他们用什么手机都没关系。

It doesn't matter which, smartphone they have.

Speaker 1

银版是49.95美元,金版99.95美元,铂金版则包含所有高级分析和定制报告,每月199.95美元。

But we so it's silver, $49.95, gold for, $99.95, and then platinum, which is all the ex extra analytics and custom reporting for $1.99 95 a month.

Speaker 1

如果买一年的话,还能享受折扣。

And, you can buy a year and get a discount.

Speaker 1

听我说。

Oh, listen.

Speaker 1

这价格合理。

It's fair.

Speaker 1

真的挺公道的。

It's a fair price.

Speaker 0

我明白你什么意思。

I see what you did there.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

你看,我们做到了。

See, we got there.

Speaker 0

我太喜欢了。

I love it.

Speaker 0

我太喜欢了。

I love it.

Speaker 0

我来总结一下,然后想听听你对这个话题的最终看法。

I'm gonna summarize, and then I wanna get your final thoughts on the topic.

Speaker 0

我正在和我的朋友尼尔·霍夫曼聊天,他是Farelanes的联合创始人之一,我们在讨论面向所有人的实时车道定价。

So I'm talking to my friend Neal Huffman, one of the founders of Farelanes, and we're talking about real time lane pricing for everyone.

我们谈到了数据的必要性,不管你是个运输公司、中介还是发货方,都一样。

We talked about just the need for data, and it doesn't matter whether you're the carrier, the broker, or the shipper.

Speaker 0

每个人都需要数据。

Everybody has a need for data.

Speaker 0

以前呢,就只是帮我找一辆卡车就行。

It used to be just get me a truck.

Speaker 0

现在呢,你要的是车、技术,还有数据分析。

Now it's give me truck, get me tech, and get me analytics.

Speaker 0

我觉得不管怎样,这些数据分析都在帮我们把生意做得更好。

And I think no matter what, those analytics are helping us make our businesses better.

Speaker 0

我知道自从疫情以来,市场一直不景气,我听不少科技公司说,现在卖产品越来越难了,因为大家都不好过,不管是承运方还是中介方。

And I know we've seen since COVID, since the the market struggled, I've heard the tech companies say it's harder to sell people the stuff because they're struggling, whether you're a carrier, whether you're a broker.

Speaker 0

但大公司在这段时间反而在加大投入,而且投的就是我们今天聊的这类东西。

But the big guys are spending during this time, and they are spending on stuff just like what we're talking about here today.

Speaker 0

所以你得在更好的数据分析上花钱,才能赚到更高的利润。

So you need to spend the money on better analytics to make better margins.

Speaker 0

这正是我要说的,顺便说一句,你最高档的套餐一个月才200美元。

This is that and by the way, your top of the line is $200 a month.

Speaker 0

但靠它赚回来的,绝对不止200美元一个月。

It should make you a lot more than $200 a month.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

乔,我们确实有在考虑这个问题。

Joe, we think about it.

Speaker 1

我们始终关心那些只有一辆卡车、但特别靠谱的司机。

Again, we have a heart for the one truck and a dream guy.

Speaker 1

只要这位司机一个月能多拉一单,多赚150块,那他这月的投入就全回本了。

But if the one truck and a dream guy can haul one load for an extra $150, he's paid for gold for that whole month.

Speaker 1

他一个月可能跑十单。

They might run 10 loads a month.

Speaker 1

你好好想想这个账。

So just think about it.

Speaker 1

如果大家都能更聪明地花钱,那某些环节的利润可能会降一点。

If everybody could, again, spend better, and that means maybe there are some margin drops on some of the components of it.

Speaker 1

但归根结底,只要每个人都能拿到应得的那份,货就能顺利运走,大家都能赚钱。

But at the end of the day, if everyone's making their fair share, then everything gets every the freight gets moved, everybody gets paid, and they're all making money.

Speaker 1

这才是最核心的问题。

And that's really the bottom line.

Speaker 0

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我觉得每个人都希望确保自己的投资能有回报。

I think everybody wants to get make sure they get an ROI on any investment they're making.

Speaker 0

有些东西已经不再是可有可无的了,比如你花钱买的可视化工具,因为客户要求你提供这些功能。

And I think some of the things are no longer a nice to have, whether it's visibility tools you pay for them because your customers to have them.

Speaker 0

但像这种情况下,你只是说一声‘是的’,

But something like this where you just say, yeah.

Speaker 0

这可能就决定了多拉一单货的区别。

It could be the difference between one load.

Speaker 0

也许你会发现,

Maybe you find out, hey.

Speaker 0

过去一个月,我的卡车每天少赚了100美元。

I've been running my truck for a $100 less per day for the last month.

Speaker 1

对

Yeah.

Speaker 1

哎呀。

Ouch.

Speaker 0

给你。

Here you go.

Speaker 0

因为我没搞清楚别人拿到的是什么,我白白亏了1500美元。

That was $1,500 that I lost because I didn't know what everyone else was getting.

Speaker 0

这种信息正是你们能提供的,我太喜欢了。

And that's the kind of information that you guys can give them, and I love it.

Speaker 0

咱们换个项目聊吧。

So let's switch gears.

Speaker 0

在忘记之前,我一定会把你的领英主页和网站链接放进去,还有你和你们市场团队的联系方式。

Let's talk about but before I forget, I will make sure I put a link to your LinkedIn profile, link to your website, and then it links you and your marketing team.

Speaker 0

麻烦你把这些链接放到节目笔记里。

Give me up with those in the show notes.

Speaker 0

我知道你打算参加四月在印第安纳波利斯举办的承运商峰会。

So I know you're gonna be at the broker carrier summit, and that is in April in Indianapolis.

Speaker 0

你们和Farelanes的团队还会参加哪些其他会议?

What other conferences will we see you and the fine folks from Farelanes at?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我们主要关注的当然是BCS,虽然这是新办的,但我觉得效果特别好。

So we basically focus on obviously, the BCS is new, but I found it to be very powerful.

Speaker 1

我们还会参加保理协会的IFA大会。

But we're at the IFA conference for the factoring association.

Speaker 0

等等。

Wait.

Speaker 0

IFA是什么?

What is IFA?

Speaker 0

IFA指的是什么?

What is the IFA?

Speaker 1

国际保理协会。

International Factoring Association.

Speaker 1

那我简单快速说几句,先给大家提个背景。

So just real quick, I'll put a little blurb out here.

Speaker 1

我们现在在和一个合作伙伴对接,具体细节我就不展开了,不过我们正在推进全新的模式:打造一套更成熟的数字货运匹配系统,这样以后就能直接对接货车司机了。

We're working with a a partner, and I don't I won't go into the details, but we're literally moving into words where we could we're creating a a like, more of a digital freight matching model to where we can actually say, hey, Carrier.

Speaker 1

现在有一批定价合理的货源,我们就可以开始给这些企业匹配合适的资金方了。

Here's a load that's priced fairly, and we can start matching them up.

Speaker 1

毕竟过去三四年里,行业里所有人都在尝试实现这件事。

Because everybody's been trying to do that for the last three or four years.

Speaker 1

我觉得他们都取得了一定的成功。

I would say they've all met with some modicum of success.

Speaker 1

所以我们还有好几条合作伙伴关系在进行,我们相信这对整个行业都有好处。

So we've got several other strings of of partnership going on that we believe will be a plus for the industry.

Speaker 1

没错,我们确实是这样做的。

But so but we we do.

Speaker 1

我们和保理公司有合作关系,所以我们会参加IFA的会议。

We have partners with factoring companies, and so we attend the IFA conference.

Speaker 1

我们还会参加TIA大会,因为我们和TMS公司有合作。

And then we also attend the, TIA conference because we're partnered with TMS's.

Speaker 1

当然,经纪人在我们的业务中也占了很大一部分。

And, obviously, the brokers is a is a big comp part of our component.

Speaker 1

这三大活动是重点,另外我们也会参加一些地区性的活动,比如得州卡车展之类的,这些小型区域会议我们参与得特别开心,也收获了不少人脉。

So we we those are the big three, and then we've got, like, the tech do we have some regionals, like a Texas truck show and things of that nature that we that we attend and have really enjoyed the connection at that smaller the smaller regional type conferences.

Speaker 1

这类活动我们还参加了几个,分布在全国各地。

So we've got a few of those scattered out there.

Speaker 0

这太棒了。

I love it.

Speaker 0

真的很棒。

I love it.

Speaker 0

那以后我们要找你,就能直接见到你了。

So if we need to see you, we can see you.

Speaker 1

当然没问题。

Absolutely.

Speaker 1

我们很乐意继续聊这个话题。

And we're happy to have that conversation.

Speaker 0

太好了。

Excellent.

Speaker 0

我很欣赏你们在做的事情。

I love what you guys are doing.

Speaker 0

我明白。

I get it.

Speaker 0

在我看来,这根本不用犹豫。

It's just to me, it's a no brainer.

Speaker 0

为什么不这么做呢?

Why wouldn't you have this?

Speaker 1

对啊,为什么不呢?

Why wouldn't you?

Speaker 1

我再提一下,以前我在一家小经纪公司时,他们大概有五个调度员,再加上两三个其他行政人员。

So just to touch again, when I was in one broker small broker, it was, like, probably they had maybe five dispatchers and two or three other office personnel.

Speaker 1

这事儿发生在印第安纳州,我想。

This is in I think it was in Indiana.

Speaker 1

她跟我说,尼尔,我不得不取消了另一个订阅,那是好几年前的事了。

And she goes, Neal, I've had to cancel one of my other subscriptions, and this is a couple years ago.

Speaker 1

但那时候我就想,嘿,说真的。

But I was like, at that point, said, you know what?

Speaker 1

我们得为这个领域提供一个更好的解决方案。

We've gotta bring a better solution to this space.

Speaker 1

我们其实2003年就注册了,大概是那年年中,但直到现在才开始正式推出产品。

And so we're just now get we've been we basically incorporated in 2003, middle of two or '23, but we're just now starting to roll out production.

Speaker 1

我们已经运行了四五个月,非常期待为市场带来更高程度的可视性和透明度。

We've been in production for four or five months, and so we're excited about bringing a new layer of of visibility, transparency to to the market.

Speaker 1

所以我们真的很希望能和你聊聊。

And so, yeah, we would love to have a conversation.

Speaker 0

太棒了。

Love it.

Speaker 0

我会在节目里附上你的领英主页和网站链接。

Again, I'll put a link to your LinkedIn profile, link to your website.

Speaker 0

你和你的市场团队提供的任何其他链接,我都会放到节目笔记里。

Any other links you and your marketing team give me, I'll put those in the show notes.

Speaker 0

非常感谢你今天抽出时间参加。

And thank you so much for taking the time today.

Speaker 1

是的。
