I'll figure something else out.
好了。
Alright.
I'm gonna spend the next couple episodes sharing something special with you guys that I wrote the other day, as I was sitting and reflecting upon my mentors and the guys that I looked up to during my time in the SEAL teams.
I got to thinking, what are some common characteristics that all of those individuals had?
And I listed out seven.
I called them seven attributes of a warrior.
Now, if you don't consider yourself a warrior, that's cool.
All of these attributes that we're gonna talk about are things that we should all aspire to implement into our own lives and our personalities.
Each of them will make us better humans.
So we're going to talk about number one on today because we don't have a lot of time on One Minute with Chad.
The first one is a warrior is transformed and set apart.
Alright?
The two go hand in hand.
A warrior is transformed.
First of all, every warrior goes through a time where they must relinquish their preconceived notions of themselves, and they must also relinquish their preconceived notions of their limits, alright, the limits of their capability.
You have to have all that stuff stripped away, right?
And the warrior has to start from a clean foundation in the beginning.
And they build off of that clean foundation by way of a process of training that usually involves significant mental and physical challenge and adversity.
That process transforms that person into something new, different than they were before.
This person is usually set apart, obviously set apart in society.
I remember traveling with my seal platoon when we would go out in town.
People would look at us weird because they could just tell something was different about these people.
Why is a warrior so obviously set apart?
I think there are some key things that sets that that set us apart.
I think one is meekness, which is a pretty rare trait these days.
Meekness is essentially controlled intensity.
I think the fact that warriors have a heightened level of situational awareness sets them apart.
I think that can be seen by others, the way we view our surroundings, the way we pay attention to things and the way we react to things.
Alright?
A warrior carries themselves with a posture of self respect.
Chest up, eyes forward.
A warrior interacts with others differently.
Every great warrior I've ever known treats other people always respectfully.
They treat people with compassion.
Yet they are articulate and firm.
Respectful, compassionate, articulate and firm, all at the same time.
Now, being set apart can be frustrating if you're a veteran and you're listening to this.
If you've been through a process of training that has transformed you into some type of warrior, that can be frustrating because you might wonder why don't I fit in like everyone else, especially in a society where people are told to assimilate into whatever the whims of culture are.
Now, you have to reconcile with the fact that you are set apart, you have to realize that that is a good thing, that that is a key attribute, and you have to move forward with confidence and not resent others because you recognize the fact that you have become different, transformed through the process of becoming a warrior.
That's just number one.
Again, I'll share the other six with you guys over the next few episodes.
Hope to hear from you.
