早安,棒球迷们!欢迎来到小吉姆迷你棒球场——小巴兔队的主场。今天的比赛由未尝败绩的小巴兔队对阵本赛季尚未获胜的Mindy巴克尔队。

Good morning, baseball fans, and welcome to Big Jim's Little Baseball Park, home of the Little Buffbunnies. Today's game is between the undefeated Little Buffbunnies and Mindy's Barker Ballers, who haven't won a single game yet this season.

Speaker 1

好的队员们,我们来围个圈。哈瑟。好了好了。

Okay, team. Let's huddle up. Husser. Alright. Alright.

Speaker 3

Mindy,今天谁当我们的投手?

Who's our pitcher gonna be today, Mindy?

Speaker 4

我觉得会是

I think it's gonna be

Speaker 5

哦,选我吧。选托马斯·芬格林。整个赛季你都没让我钓过鱼。

Oh, me. Pick Thomas fingerling. You haven't let me fish all season.

Speaker 6

那是因为你笨手笨脚的,小芬格林。

Well, that's because you're all thumbs, fingerling.

Speaker 3

什么?不,我才没有。好吧,你的拇指确实比我多,汤米。

What? No, I ain't. Well, you do have more thumbs than me, Tommy.

Speaker 5

就算我有四个拇指和六根手指,也不代表我不会

Just because I have four thumbs and six fingers does not mean I don't know how to

Speaker 0

投球。什么?

pitch. What?

Speaker 1

别担心,芬格林先生。我们先从老奶奶GeForce开始,比赛后期会让你投球的。

Don't worry, mister Fingerling. We're going to start with grandma GeForce, and you'll be pitching later in the game.

Speaker 0

他会?我会。

He will? I will.

Speaker 6

我以为我们想赢。

I thought we wanted to win.

Speaker 3

是啊,如果让托马斯·芬格林投球,我们永远也打破不了连败纪录。

Yeah. We're never gonna break this losing streak if we let Thomas Fingerling pitch.

Speaker 1

是的,我们会的。

Yes, we will.

Speaker 0

你为什么这么自信?

Why are you so confident?

Speaker 1

因为,斯克罗兹,我有一个秘密武器。

Because, Skyroze, I have a secret weapon.

Speaker 0

你有吗?

You do?

Speaker 1

嗯,我拿到了。就在这儿。

Yep. I got it. Right here.

Speaker 5

哦,一个桶。正是我们需要的。

Oh, a bucket. Just what we needed.

Speaker 1

不不不,托马斯·芬格林,帮我们赢得比赛的可不是这个桶,而是桶里的东西。

No, no, no. It's not the bucket that's gonna help us win the game, Thomas Fingerling. It's what's inside the bucket.

Speaker 0

哦,对。是什么,明迪?

Oh, right. What is it, Mindy?

Speaker 1

盖伊·拉兹,时机一到自会揭晓。现在我们要先赢下这场棒球赛。大家把手叠起来。

All will be revealed in time, Guy Raz. For now, we have a baseball game to win. Hands in, everyone.

Speaker 5

来吧。好,

Let's do it. Okay,

Speaker 1

地堡球员们,数到三。准备好了吗?一、二

Bunker Ballers on three. Ready? One, two

Speaker 3

哦,汤米的第三根拇指碰到我了。明迪,帮帮我。

Oh, Tommy's third thumb is touching me. Mindy, help.

Speaker 5

安静点,你这个胆小鬼。

Quiet. You baby.

Speaker 1

丹尼斯,12号,三垒。

Dennis, 12, three.

Speaker 6

第一,谁是邦克球手?

One, who are Bunker ballers?

Speaker 2

接下来为邦克球手击球的是托马斯·芬格林。

Up to bat for the Bunker ballers, it's Thomas Fingerling.

Speaker 3

哦,我是一顶帽子。什么?加油,托马斯·芬格林。来吧,芬格林。

Oh, I'm a hat. What? Go, Thomas Fingerling. Come on, Fingerling.

Speaker 2

替补队员上场了。第一球没打中。哎呀。第二球也没中。哦豁。

Here comes the bench. Steer eye one. Oop. Strike two. Oopsie.

Speaker 2

三振出局。你已经出局了。好吧,我尽力了。轮到我上场了。我站起来了。

Steer eye three. You're out. Well, tried my best. Coming up to the plate. I rise.

Speaker 6

好的。只是

Okay. Just

Speaker 0

盯紧

keep your eye on

Speaker 2

球,投球来了。哇哦。盖伊打出了本垒打,第四局结束。保存。

the ball, and here comes the pitch. Woah. And that's a home run for Guy And that's the end of the fourth inning. Save. The end of

Speaker 5

第五

the fifth

Speaker 2

局。什么情况?第六局。哇哦。这个棒球蒙太奇进展得真快。

inning. What the? The sixth inning. Wow. This baseball montage is moving right along.

Speaker 3

确实如此。

I'll say.

Speaker 2

比赛来到第九局下半场,小强兔队上场击球,已有两人出局。明迪的沼泽球手队领先一分。这是小强兔队赢得比赛的最后机会。哇。

And here we are at the bottom of the ninth. The Lil Buff Bunnies are up to bat with two outs. Mindy's Bogger Ballers lead by one. This is the Lil Buff Bunnies' last chance to win the game. Wow.

Speaker 1

你能相信吗?我就预感这场比赛会有好结果。

Can you believe this? I knew I had a good feeling about this game.

Speaker 0

还没结束呢,明迪。我们只领先一分,而且他们要派上最强的击球手了。她这场已经打出三个本垒打。

Well, it's not over yet, Mindy. We're only up by one run, and then they're sending up their best batter. She's hit three home runs this game.

Speaker 1

别紧张,斯凯罗兹。我们还没使出秘密武器呢。

Now don't stress, Skyroz. We haven't even used our secret weapon yet.

Speaker 3

还没用?还等什么?快用啊。用吧。用吧。

We haven't? What are we waiting for? Use it. Use it. Use it.

Speaker 3

快用秘密武器。

Use the secret weapon.

Speaker 0

丹尼斯说得对,明迪。要想赢,这局就不能让他们得任何分。

Dennis is right, Mindy. We can't let them get a single run this inning if we're gonna win

Speaker 3

这个东西。还有,那个秘密武器是什么?

this thing. Also, what is the secret weapon?

Speaker 1

好的。G力奶奶?对。是时候打开桶了。能帮我个忙吗?

Okay. Grandma G Force? Yeah. It's time to open the bucket. Wanna give me a hand here?

Speaker 6

嗯,好吧。

Well, okay.

Speaker 0

明迪,里面是什么?

Mindy, what's in there?

Speaker 5

看起来像便便。呃。是便便吗?

It looks like poop. Ew. Is it poop?

Speaker 6

不,不是便便。

No, it's not poop.

Speaker 1

哦。是泥巴。泥巴?没错。

Oh. It's mud. Mud? That's right.

Speaker 0

敏迪,这桶泥巴是我们的秘密武器?

Mindy, this bucket of mud is our secret weapon?

Speaker 1

没错,但这可不是普通的泥巴,盖伊·拉兹。这是魔法泥巴。哦,

Yep, but it's not just any mud, Guy Raz. This mud is magic mud. Oh,

Speaker 5

魔法?怎么个魔法法?

magic. Magic how?

Speaker 1

对。好了,大家听好了,我要给你们讲魔法泥巴的故事。耶。一百多年前,美国成立了职业棒球大联盟。

Yeah. Okay, everyone listen up and I'll tell you the story of magic mud. Yay. More than one hundred years ago, Major League Baseball was founded in The United States.

Speaker 3

职业棒球大联盟?

Major League Baseball?

Speaker 1

对,就是职业棒球,丹尼斯,MLB。

Yeah, that's professional baseball, Dennis, the MLB.

Speaker 3

哦,就像大联盟那样。

Oh, like the big leagues.

Speaker 1

没错。大约在1920年,大联盟出台了一项新规定,每当棒球被磨损、弄脏或击打时

Right. And in the big leagues around 1920, there was a new rule put into place that every time a baseball got scuffed or dirtied or hit

Speaker 3

界外球!

Foul ball!

Speaker 1

必须用一个崭新、干净、明亮且闪闪发光的棒球替换掉旧的。

A new, clean, bright and shiny baseball had to be swapped in for the old one.

Speaker 5

哦,亮闪闪的!

Oh, shiny!

Speaker 1

但有个问题。这些干净闪亮的新棒球有点滑。有时投球会直接从投手手中滑脱。

But there was a problem. These clean and shiny new baseballs were a little bit slippery. And sometimes a pitch would just slip out of the pitcher's hands.

Speaker 3

哎呀。

Yikes.

Speaker 6

天哪,他们后来怎么解决的?

Oh my, whatever did they do?

Speaker 1

大约在1940年,费城的一位三垒教练发现了一种超级有效的方法,可以让棒球具有粘性抓握力,而不会磨损、损坏或使球变色。

Well, around 1940, a third base coach from Philadelphia discovered a super effective trick to give the baseballs sticky grip without scuffing or damaging or discoloring the ball.

Speaker 5

是什么方法?

What was it?

Speaker 1

那是一种神秘的物质。一种黏糊糊、泥泞的物质,被称为魔法泥。哦,有了魔法泥,球员们终于能获得他们所需的抓握力。

It was a mysterious substance. A slimy, sticky, muddy substance. A substance known as magic mud. Oh. And with magic mud, players could finally get the grip that they needed.

Speaker 3

没错。

Stee right.

Speaker 1

很快这就成为一条规定:每场美国职棒大联盟比赛中使用的每个球都必须用魔法泥擦拭。

And soon, it became a rule that every ball used in every Major League Baseball game must be rubbed with magic mud.

Speaker 0

等一下,明迪。你是说美国职棒大联盟的每个球都涂了泥?

Wait a minute, Mindy. You're telling me that each ball in the MLB is covered in mud?

Speaker 1

嗯,差不多吧。我的意思是你不用把球完全涂满,只需要用一点点泥,像涂乳液一样轻轻揉搓进去。

Well, kinda. I mean, you don't smother the ball. You just use a little tiny bit of the mud and kinda rub it in like a lotion.

Speaker 5

那么究竟是什么让这些泥巴如此神奇呢?

And just what exactly makes this mud so magic?

Speaker 3

对啊。这泥巴能实现愿望吗?

Yeah. Does the mud grant wishes?

Speaker 0

不。哦。它

Nope. Oh. It

Speaker 1

只是让球变得特别粘手。

just makes the balls extra grippy.

Speaker 3

哦,好吧,如果我们想让棒球变得粘手,为什么不直接用超级胶水或枫糖浆之类的东西呢?

Oh, well, if we wanna make the baseballs grippy, why don't we just use something like super glue or maple syrup?

Speaker 6

我的紧身衣里藏了一罐枫糖浆。要我开始倒了吗?

I got a stash of maple syrup up here in my unitard. You want me to start pouring?

Speaker 1

什么?不行。别让那些枫糖浆靠近棒球,重力奶奶。在棒球上涂抹任何可能影响其性能的东西都是违规的,这可能会让我们失去比赛资格。

What? No. Keep that maple syrup away from those baseballs, Grandma G Force. Putting anything on a baseball that might affect its performance is against the rules, and it could get us disqualified.

Speaker 6

好吧。看来我能多拿点,这也不错。

Fine. More for me, I guess. That's good.

Speaker 0

所以除了这种神奇泥巴外,你不能在棒球上涂抹任何可能影响其性能的东西?

So you can't put anything on a baseball that might affect its performance except for this magic mud?

Speaker 1

没错。

That's right.

Speaker 0

太神奇了。你的计划就是用这种泥巴涂在棒球上增加摩擦力,从而帮助我们投得更好?

So magical. And your plan is to coat these baseballs in this mud to make them more grippy and then help us pitch better?

Speaker 1

答对了,盖伊·拉兹。你说得对。

Bingo, Guy Raz. You got it.

Speaker 3

噢,我想试试。给我个球。

Oh, I wanna try it. Give me a ball.

Speaker 5

悠着点,皮勒。

Take it easy, Pillar.

Speaker 3

好了。魔法。哇。

There we go. Magic. Wow.

Speaker 1

不太对。泥巴太多了,丹尼斯。

Not quite. That is too much mud, Dennis.

Speaker 3

你知道你常说什么吗,明迪?值得做的事,就值得做到极致。

You know what you always say, Mindy? If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing.

Speaker 1

嗯,那么多泥巴不行。我们只是想去除球上的滑溜光泽,丹尼斯。啊。所以只要取一点点泥巴,用力擦在棒球上。

Well, too much mud like that won't work. We're just trying to take the slippery shine off the ball, Dennis. Ah. So just take a little tiny bit of the mud and rub it into the baseball kinda hard.

Speaker 3

哦,就像去角质面部磨砂膏那样?

Oh, like an exfoliating facial scrub?

Speaker 1

对,没错。好的。

Yeah, sure. Okay.

Speaker 3

擦啊擦,擦啊擦,擦啊擦,好了。这样怎么样?

Scrub, scrub, scrub, scrub, scrub, and there. How's that?

Speaker 1

哦,看起来不错。好的,G力奶奶,现在你拿着这个球,看看能不能把下一个击球手三振出局。

Oh, that looks good. Okay, Grandma G Force, Now you take this ball and see if you can strike this next batter out.

Speaker 6

让我来加他。过来吧,泥球。

Let me add him. Come here, muddy ball.

Speaker 3

好样的,G力。三振他

Good. G Force. Strike him

Speaker 6

出局。别每个人都来指挥我该怎么做。

out. Quit everybody telling me what to do.

Speaker 0

所以我想这就是我们验证你那神奇泥巴是否真的有效的时候了,明迪?

So I guess this is where we find out if that magic mud of yours actually works, Mindy?

Speaker 1

没错。不过别担心,盖伊·罗兹。如果这批不行,我这里还有另外两种可以马上试试。

Yeah. But don't worry, Guy Roz. If this batch doesn't work, I've got two others to try right here.

Speaker 0

你还有两桶泥巴?为什么?

You have two more buckets of mud? Why?

Speaker 1

为美国职棒大联盟采集真正神奇泥浆的地点是个超级保密的秘密。没人知道具体位置。我们只知道是从特拉华河某处采集的。嗯哼。上周,雷吉和我去河边三个不同地点取了样本。

Well, the spot where they harvest the real magic mud for the MLB is a super duper well kept secret. Nobody knows where it is. All we know is that it's harvested from somewhere on the Delaware River. Uh-huh. Last week, Reggie and I went out and took samples from three different spots along the riverbank.

Speaker 1

所以其中总有一个能行。

So one of them's gotta work.

Speaker 0

随你怎么说。

If you say so.

Speaker 3

华夫,上垒。

Waffle, take your base.

Speaker 2

G Force又击出一记炒锅式击球。

That's another wok batter for G Force.

Speaker 3

嘿,明迪。G Force奶奶刚用炒锅击球法打中了。那狗什么都没做。

Hey, Mindy. Grandma G Force just wokked a batter. The mutt didn't do anything.

Speaker 1

哦,天哪。肯定是批次有问题。看来我们得试试第二桶了。谁再递给我个球。

Oh, man. Must have been a bad batch. Guess we're just gonna have to try the second bucket. Someone hand me another ball.

Speaker 5

给你。

Here you go.

Speaker 1

明白了。好的。涂上泥巴,抹开,抹开,再抹开。

Got it. Okay. Coating it in mud, rubbing it in, rubbing it in, rubbing it in.

Speaker 2

现在轮到小壮兔队的14号选手约书亚·托詹·约翰逊上场,他用脚击球的独特技术虽然非正统,但观众们非常喜欢。

Up to bat for Lil Buff Bunnies, number 14, Joshua Toejam Johnson, who has the unusual technique of batting with his feet. It may be unorthodox, but this crowd is loving it.

Speaker 1

好的,丹尼斯?到。该你了。你觉得能三振对方吗?

Okay, Dennis? Present. You're up. Think you can get a strikeout?

Speaker 3

当然可以。

Of course I can.

Speaker 1

太好了。给,用第二桶里的泥巴球。

Great. Here, use this ball with mud from the second bucket.

Speaker 3

交给我吧,明迪。来吧,球。让我们看看你身上沾的泥巴对不对。

You can count on me, Mindy. Come on, ball. Let's go see if you've got the right mud on you.

Speaker 2

我们换上了救援投手。G Force将下场休息。现在为Bunker Ballers队投球的是Dennis。太好了。

We've got a relief pitcher coming in. G Force will sit. And now pitching for the Bunker Ballers will be Dennis. Yay.

Speaker 6

我在

I'm on

Speaker 1

劳动。

the labor.

Speaker 0

那么,Mindy,我还是不太明白。为什么把这些球涂上泥巴会让它们更有抓握力?

So, Mindy, I still don't fully understand. How does covering these balls in mud make them more grippy?

Speaker 1

嗯,很长一段时间里我们都不清楚。但现在多亏了宾夕法尼亚大学的一项研究,我们知道了。

Well, for the longest time, we didn't know. But now thanks to a study by the University of Pennsylvania, we do.

Speaker 0

这项研究说了什么?

And what did this study say?

Speaker 1

嗯,这些研究者首先试图弄清楚的是,这种泥巴里到底有什么让它如此神奇。

Well, the first thing that these researchers tried to figure out was what exactly is in this mud to make it so magical anyway.

Speaker 0

他们是通过放在显微镜下观察的吗?

And they did this by putting it under a microscope?

Speaker 1

没错。他们发现的是黏土、石英和沙子等矿物质。其余部分,几乎占43%,是由水构成的。

Exactly. And what they found were minerals like clay and quartz and sand. The rest of it, almost 43% of it, was made up of water.

Speaker 5

那魔法占了多少百分比呢?

And how many percents is the magic?

Speaker 1

魔法在于所有这些不同成分比例的完美结合。

The magic was the proportions of all these different ingredients together.

Speaker 0

你是说水的量恰到好处,黏土和沙子的比例也刚刚好。

You mean it had just the right amount of water and just the right amount of clay and sand.

Speaker 1

完全正确。是的。

Exact Doritos. Yeah.

Speaker 3

哦,什么?

Oh, what?

Speaker 0

如果泥浆太稀的话,那些沙粒可能就粘不到球上了。

So like if the mud was too watery, all those sand particles probably wouldn't stick to the ball.

Speaker 1

没错。如果水分不够,泥浆就会太稠。

Yeah. And if it wasn't watery enough, it would be too thick.

Speaker 0

那样就没法均匀地涂满整个棒球了。

And you wouldn't be able to spread it all over the baseballs.

Speaker 1

这种泥浆的稠度必须恰到好处。既要足够稀薄能像面霜一样抹开,又要有足够粘性能在球体表面形成均匀漂亮的泥层。

The consistency of this mud has to be just right. Watery enough to spread like a face cream, but sticky enough that it leaves a nice, even layer of mud all over the ball.

Speaker 0

但这种泥浆究竟有什么特性让它如此防滑呢?

But what is it about this mud that makes it so grippy?

Speaker 1

当研究人员将涂好泥的棒球再次放在显微镜下观察时,他们有了个有趣的发现。

Well, when these researchers looked at it under the microscope again, once they'd applied it to the baseballs, they discovered something interesting.

Speaker 5

哦,是什么发现?快说说。

Oh, what was it? Yeah.

Speaker 3

四位选手,各就各位。

All four, take your base. It's

Speaker 2

托杰姆·约翰逊被保送上一垒。小野兔队现在在一垒和二垒都有跑垒员。

Toejam Johnson will walk to first base. The Lil Buff Bunnies now have runners on first and second.

Speaker 1

哎呀。再给我一个球,芬格林先生。是时候尝试第三号泥浆了。

Uh-oh. Pass me another ball, mister Fingerling. It's time to sample mud number three.

Speaker 5

给你。谢谢

Here you go. Thank

Speaker 1

你。打开桶盖。

you. Opening the bucket. There

Speaker 6

好了。

we go.

Speaker 0

等一下,明迪。我没看到其他泥浆桶了。这是最后一桶吗?

Wait a minute, Mindy. I don't see any other buckets of mud. Is this the last one?

Speaker 1

没错。希望这泥巴样本里含有我们需要的所有成分。

Yep. Fingers crossed this mud sample has all the right stuff in it.

Speaker 0

所谓需要的成分就是黏土、沙子和水的完美配比。

The right stuff being the perfect combination of clay, sand, and water.

Speaker 1

精确得像多力多滋。好了,这样应该可以了。来吧,芬格林先生,拿着这个球去给我们来个三振出局。

Exact Doritos. There. Now that should do it. Okay, Mr. Fingerling, take this ball and go get us a strike out.

Speaker 5

真的?我来?没错。

Really? Me? Yep.

Speaker 0

明迪,你确定这是个好主意吗?现在已经是第九局下半场,我们只领先一分,而托马斯·芬格林整个赛季连一次三振都没有过。

Mindy, are you sure this is a good idea? I mean, it's bottom of the ninth and we're only one run ahead and Thomas Fingerling hasn't even had a strike out all season.

Speaker 6

而且他有四根拇指。所以呢?

And he has four thumbs. So?

Speaker 1

别听他们的,芬格林。你会表现得很棒的。来,接住。

Don't listen to them, Fingerling. You're gonna do great. Here, catch.

Speaker 5

哎呀,糟糕了。让我把这个捡起来。

Oops. Whoops a daisy. Let me just pick that up here.

Speaker 0

哦,天哪。

Oh, boy.

Speaker 1

加油,托马斯·芬格林。振作起来。我们需要你打出人生中最精彩的比赛。

Come on, Thomas Fingerling. Just shake it off. We need you to have the best game of your life out there.

Speaker 5

好的好的。芬格林要上场了。

Okey doke. Here comes Fingerling.

Speaker 2

明迪要换上新替补投手替换丹尼斯。看起来——哦,真不敢相信——是托马斯·芬格林。托马斯·芬格林整个赛季至今还没完成过一次三振。

Mindy's sending a new relief pitcher in to replace Dennis. And it looks like, Oh, I don't believe it. It's Thomas Fingerling. Thomas Fingerling is yet to get a strikeout this whole season.

Speaker 5

准备好迎接我的拇指分裂篮球吧。所以

Get ready for my split thumb basketball. So

Speaker 0

明迪,这种泥巴为什么这么粘?你怎么知道这招会管用?

what is it about this mud that makes it so sticky, Mindy? I mean, how do you know this is gonna work?

Speaker 1

哦,对了。就像我刚才说的,当那些科学家把沾满泥巴的棒球放在显微镜下观察时,他们发现了有趣的现象。

Oh, yeah. So as I was saying, when those scientists put one of those baseballs that had been covered in mud under their microscopes, they discovered something interesting.

Speaker 0

发现了什么?

What was it?

Speaker 1

他们发现泥巴里的沙粒粘附在黏土上,而黏土又粘在球体光滑的表面,整个球几乎就像被极细的砂纸包裹着。显微镜下看,球体表面布满了小藤壶般的凸起。

Well, they discovered that the grains of sand that were in the mud had stuck to the clay, which had stuck to the slippery surface of the ball, basically covering the whole thing in what was almost like a real fine sandpaper. Under the microscope, it looked like the ball was covered in lots of little barnacles.

Speaker 0

这些微小的藤壶状凸起能让投手在投球时获得更好的抓握力。

And those tiny little barnacles gives the hand more to grip onto when the pitcher is throwing the ball.

Speaker 1

完全正确。好了各位,我们得为托马斯·芬格林加油助威,他现在急需场外支援。

Exact Doritos. Alright, everyone. We gotta cheer on Thomas Fingerling. He needs all the help he can get out there.

Speaker 4

有人看到我的扩音器了吗?

Yes. Has anyone seen my megaphone?

Speaker 1

我记得最后是丹尼斯拿着的。丹尼斯?丹尼斯?丹尼斯跑哪去了?

I think Dennis had it last. Dennis? Dennis? Where'd Dennis go?

Speaker 0

没时间了,明迪。看来那只肌肉兔子的下一位击球手正要上场。等等。

No time, Mindy. It looks like the buff bunny's next batter is coming up to the plate right now. Wait.

Speaker 1

那是谁?

Who is that?

Speaker 0

为什么他看起来这么眼熟?

Why does he look so familiar?

Speaker 2

现在上场的是00号击球手,静电侠。

Now up to bat number 00. It's Static Man.

Speaker 1

不,我才是静电侠。

No. I am Static Man.

Speaker 3

丹尼斯?不,丹尼斯是地堡球员队的。静电侠效力于小肌肉兔子队,即将赢得这场比赛成为大英雄。

Dennis? No. Dennis plays for the Bunker Ballers. Static Man plays for the Lil Buff Bunnies and is about to win this game and be a big hero.

Speaker 6

嗯哼。

Uh-huh.

Speaker 0

好吧,希望这神奇泥浆能奏效,明迪。

Well, let's hope this magic mud works, Mindy.

Speaker 1

是啊,我不知道能不能忍受输给静电侠。

Yeah. I don't know if I can stand losing to Static Man.

Speaker 5

我可不怕你,带电的家伙。

I ain't afraid of you, electricity dude.

Speaker 2

托马斯·芬格林摆臂投球,球出手了。向右偏转,第一球。难以置信,托马斯·芬格林投出了本赛季第一个好球。

Thomas Fingerling winds up, and the pitch. Steer right, one. I don't believe it. Thomas Fingerling delivers his first on target pitch of the season.

Speaker 3

嘿,我做到了。哇哦。

Hey, I did it. Wow.

Speaker 1

干得好芬格林,再投两个这样的球我们就稳赢了。

Way to go, Fingerling. Two more of those and we're home free.

Speaker 0

看来那神奇泥浆可能真的有效,明迪。

Looks like that magic mud might actually be working, Mindy.

Speaker 1

我就知道它肯定在里面

I knew it had to be in

Speaker 3

就在那些桶里。你可以免费获得那次三振,汤米。静电侠现在已经充满电准备好了。你永远无法三振。黏糊糊。

one of those buckets. You can have that strike strike for free, Tommy. Static man is now fully charged and ready. You'll never be able to Strike. Goop.

Speaker 3

哦。这个

Oh. The

Speaker 2

地堡球员队距离赢得本赛季首场比赛只差一次三振。

Bunker Ballers are just one strike away from winning their first game of the season.

Speaker 1

就是现在,盖伊·拉兹。这一球关乎所有香蕉的归属。

This is it, Guy Raz. This one's for all the bananas.

Speaker 0

我几乎不敢看。太紧张了。

I can barely watch. I'm so tense.

Speaker 5

这招全拇指怎么样?三振出局。

How's this for all thumbs? Strike three.

Speaker 1

你出局了。不。耶。我们做到了。

You're out. No. Yay. We did it.

Speaker 2

我简直不敢相信。地堡球员队赢了。在我解说破坏联盟棒球赛的这三周里,从未见过这样的场面。

I don't believe it. The Bunker Ballers have won. In all my three weeks of announcing Wreck League Baseball, I have never seen anything like this.

Speaker 1

我就知道那神奇的泥浆不会让我们失望。

I knew that magic mud wouldn't let us down.

Speaker 5

哇哦。我做到了。我做到了。而且我只用了四根拇指中的两根。我还有多余的拇指呢。

Woo hoo. I did it. I did it. And I only needed to use two out of my four thumbs. I still had more thumbs.

Speaker 1

托马斯·芬格林,那简直太不可思议了。

Thomas Fingerling, that was incredible.

Speaker 0

真不敢相信你竟然三振出局了,这可是你人生第一次。

I can't believe you got a strikeout, your first one ever.

Speaker 5

是啊,不知怎么的,那颗球感觉有点不一样,你懂吗?

Yeah, something about that ball just felt a little different, you know?

Speaker 1

是那些泥巴。

It's the mud.

Speaker 6

我就知道。

I knew it.

Speaker 1

我爱死你了,神奇泥巴。

I love you magic mud.

Speaker 6

真恶心,太恶心了。

Nasty, nasty.

Speaker 0

我在想能不能用这种泥巴增强其他东西的抓地力。

I wonder if we could improve the grip of anything else with that mud.

Speaker 1

虽然不确定能否让东西变防滑,但研究人员表示,他们用来分析棒球防滑泥的技术,未来还能用于开发更可持续的建筑材料。

I don't know about making things grippy, but the researchers behind the study said that the techniques that they used to understand how the baseball mud worked could also be used to help develop more sustainable construction materials in the future.

Speaker 0

所以这种棒球泥未来可能真能帮我们盖房子?

So this baseball mud might actually help us build houses in the future?

Speaker 1

我是说,有可能,但还有很长的路要走。不过现在,我们需要庆祝一下。

I mean, it's possible, but it's still a pretty long way away. But right now, we need to celebrate.

Speaker 3

是啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

大家跟我来。我记得那边有个运动饮料冷藏柜,我们可以倒在小土豆上。来,跟我走。

Come on everyone. I think I saw a sports drink cooler over there that we can pour over fingerling. Come on, follow me.

Speaker 5

好吧。但伙计,必须是葡萄味的,其他口味会让我起疹子。

Alright. But boy, it's grape flavor, the other flavors give me rash.

Speaker 3

太棒了。我们赢了。干得好各位,尤其是丹尼斯。嘿,等等我。
