Episode 539: Marisa Howard; First time Olympian in the Steeplechase headed to Paris!

本集简介

Is there anything better than watching someone become an Olympian?! Marisa Howard ran the race of her life at the Olympic Trials Steeplechase final last week. She ran 9:07 which was a 15 second PR for the Steeple veteran and first time mom. She placed third running a strong race from start to finish and if you haven’t seen the video yet of her family freaking out at the finish make sure you google that! Marisa lives and trains in Boise, ID and ran for Boise State. She ran the trials supported by Tracksmith which was not a traditional sponsorship but a great support for the Olympic Trials for so many athletes like Marisa. In this episode Marisa and I talk about how she felt becoming an Olympian, her training, family and her faith. I love her authenticity and was grateful for this conversation! SHOW NOTES: Ruja – We’re on a mission to empower kids and the communities they grow up in through education, medical care, and the good news of Jesus. Welcome to All Have Another Podcast with Lindsey Hein.

Speaker 0

我是主持人Lindsey。

I'm your host, Lindsey.

Speaker 0

非常感谢你今天来参加。

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Speaker 0

今天我非常兴奋,想和大家分享一集关于马丽莎·霍华德的节目。她在上周的奥运选拔赛中首次入选奥运长跑障碍赛国家队。

I am really excited today to share with you an episode with Marisa Howard, who made her first Olympic team in the Steeplechase at the Olympic Trials last week.

Speaker 0

哇。

And wow.

Speaker 0

那场比赛真是太精彩了。

What a race.

Speaker 0

这真是她职业生涯中最精彩的一场比赛。

The race of her life, really.

Speaker 0

她把自己的个人最好成绩提高了15秒,跑出了9分07秒。

She ran a fifteen second personal record, nine zero seven.

Speaker 0

她直接从9分10秒以上跳到了9分07秒。

She totally skipped over the nine ones.

Speaker 0

她从9分22秒一下子冲到了9分07秒。

She went from nine twenty two to nine zero seven.

Speaker 0

太厉害了。

Wow.

Speaker 0

马丽莎是个妈妈。

Marisa is a mom.

Speaker 0

她有一个两岁的儿子。

She has a two year old son.

Speaker 0

她是那场比赛里唯一的妈妈。

She was the only mother in that field.

Speaker 0

我们谈论的是她整个人生——作为母亲、家庭主妇、职业运动员、朋友、信仰者和教练。

We talk about her life as a whole, as a mother, a homemaker, a professional athlete, a friend, a believer, a coach.

Speaker 0

我特别欣赏玛丽莎的故事,因为她训练和比赛时,始终带着对生活的整体视角。

One thing I love about Marisa's story is the holistic view of her entire life that she takes with her when she trains and when she races.

Speaker 0

这不只是关于跑步,我觉得她对生活有着非常健康的态度,用个不太准确的词来说,就是一种平衡。我知道人生不可能事事完美平衡,但她看待跑步的方式确实很健康、很通透。

This isn't just about racing, And I think she has a really healthy perspective and for lack of a better term balance, one might say, I know that you can't always have complete balance in your life, but she seems to really look at her running with a healthy perspective and a healthy lens.

Speaker 0

玛丽莎很坦诚地谈起自己的信仰。

Marisa talks openly about her faith.

Speaker 0

我们在她很多赛后采访中都听过她谈到信仰。

We heard her talk about her faith in a lot of her post race interviews on the track.

Speaker 0

所以我对这个特别好奇。

And so I was curious about that.

Speaker 0

于是我就问了她一些和信仰相关的问题,想知道这对她意味着什么。

So, of course, asked her some questions that related to her faith and what that means to her.

Speaker 0

玛丽莎是我特别想为她加油的人,能在这档播客里讲述她的故事,我感到非常荣幸。

Marisa is someone I am so excited to cheer for, and I'm so honored to be able to tell her story here on this podcast.

Excited for our this is our first post Olympic Trials podcast interview, and we have Marisa Howard on the show.

Speaker 0

欢迎来到节目,玛丽莎。

Welcome to the show, Marisa.

Speaker 1

谢谢。

Thank you.

Speaker 1

感谢你邀请我。

Thank you for having me.

Speaker 1

我之前没做过多少播客,但接下来几期选拔赛前我还会参加一些,很高兴能来。

I haven't done a ton of podcasts, so I think I'll be on a few more leading up into the trials, excited to be here.

Speaker 0

能请到你,我真的特别开心。

I'm so excited to have you on.

Speaker 0

这真的是一种荣幸。

It is really an honor.

Speaker 0

我看到你比赛的时候,心想:这姑娘必须请来我的播客。

When I saw your race, I was like, I have to have this woman on my podcast.

Speaker 0

当时心里特别激动,真的。

There were so many exciting feelings, and Yeah.

Speaker 0

你能来,我特别兴奋。

I'm just pumped to have you here.

Speaker 0

你现在感觉怎么样?

How are you feeling?

Speaker 0

天啊,只剩五天了。

We are gosh.

Speaker 0

还有五天。

Five days.

Speaker 0

你是不是还有四天就比赛了?

Are you, like, four days out?

Speaker 0

时间过得真快,没几天了。

It's it's not been long.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我们状态不错。

We are feeling good.

Speaker 1

在尤金比赛完后我们有点小病,这其实挺常见的,刚比完一场大比赛,睡得少,现在终于从那种昏沉状态里缓过来了,开始重新训练。

We got a little illness right after Eugene, which is pretty typical coming off a big performance and getting, you know, not a lot of sleep, but finally coming out of the fog and starting to get back into training.

Speaker 1

我觉得这事还没真落到我头上。

And, yeah, I don't think it's really hit me.

Speaker 1

可能要等我们动身去巴黎才会真正感受到,但现在真的特别不真实。

I don't think it'll hit me until we kinda travel over to Paris, but very, very surreal.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

咱们聊聊你家人那个视频吧。

Let's talk about that video of your family.

Speaker 0

不知道是谁拍的,但那是你入选队伍时最棒的视频,所有人都在尖叫、跳来跳去。

That is the I don't know who took it, but that is the best video when you made the team and everybody's, like, screaming and jumping up and down.

Speaker 0

抱着你儿子的是你妹妹吗?

Is that your sister holding your son?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我都记不清了,可能是我妹妹,也可能是我弟媳抱着她的孩子。

I can't remember if it was my sister or, it might have been my sister-in-law holding her baby.

Speaker 1

我觉得我老公抱着我儿子。

I think my husband had my son.

Speaker 1

不过每次我看这段视频,都会忍不住掉眼泪。

But, yeah, I every time I watch it, I get teary eyed.

Speaker 1

你知道的,他们也为这一切付出了很多。

Like, I, you know, you you know how much they've invested as well.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

我当然投入了很多,但我也知道,他们同样付出了很多。

You know, I obviously, I've invested a lot, but I know they've, you know, invested so much as well.

Speaker 1

看到他们对我有这么强烈的情感,真的太震撼了。

And, so just to see their emotion for me was just, yeah, just insane.

Speaker 1

我很庆幸有人把这一刻拍了下来。

And I love that somebody got to capture it.

Speaker 1

我记得好像是我表亲在录像,但每次看这些画面,我都忍不住流泪。

Like, I think my cousin I think one of my cousins was recording, but, yeah, I get very emotional when I watch them.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

真幸运有人拍下了这一幕。

Like, thank God somebody recorded that.

Speaker 0

这绝对会是你一辈子都忘不了的时刻。

Like, that's gonna be something you'll never forget.

Speaker 0

你总希望有个人在角落里,悄悄记录下这个珍贵的瞬间。

You always hope someone's in the corner like, oh, let me capture this memory.

Speaker 1

我懂。

I know.

Speaker 1

我知道。

I know.

Speaker 1

我觉得外面有个跑步的人,不太清楚具体是谁,但就在他们旁边,然后他们就说,把视频发给我们,就这样传开了。

I think the outside I don't know what the name of the I think outside running or something was sitting right by them and so they were like, send us that video and that's how it got.

Speaker 1

哦。

Oh.

Speaker 1

结果就火了。

Kinda went viral.

Speaker 1

所以,真的很棒。

So, yeah, really cool.

Speaker 1

哦,那地方真不错。

Oh, that's were good.

Speaker 1

我当时跟我妈说,妈,你上热搜了,她一听就惊呼,天哪。

There and yeah, I told my mom, I'm like, mom, you're going viral and she was like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 1

太搞笑了。

So funny.

Speaker 0

哦,这太棒了。

Oh, that's so good.

Speaker 0

你和家人关系真的很亲密啊。

It seems like you're really close with your family.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我妈妈是我最好的朋友之一。

My mom is one my best friends.

Speaker 1

我每天都和她聊天。

I I chat with her every day.

Speaker 1

我儿子出生后,我爸妈就搬过来和我们住在一起了,因为他们知道我正在追逐奥运梦想,所以特意搬来帮我带孩子。

She my dad and her moved right after my son was born to be closer to us just because they knew I was, you know, pursuing this Olympic dream, and and so they they moved out here to help with my son.

Speaker 1

他们住在附近真的特别暖心,我还有个哥哥和一个妹妹,他们都会和我们一起去巴黎,想想就让人兴奋。

And, yeah, it's been really, really sweet to have them in town, and then I have a brother and a sister, and, yeah, they're all coming over Paris with us, which would be so exciting.

Speaker 0

所以你住在博伊西,你父母是搬过来和你住的?

So you so you're in Boise, and so you say your parents moved to you.

Speaker 0

你的公婆也在那儿吗?

Your in laws are also there?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我公婆是在我们还在谈恋爱的时候搬过来的。

So my in laws moved out when we were still dating.

Speaker 1

其实,我们刚交往不久,我婆婆就在我丈夫老家斯波坎丢了工作。

Actually, right after we started dating, my mother-in-law lost her job in Spokane where my husband's from.

Speaker 1

于是他们开始在斯波坎和博伊西两地找新工作,最后她在这儿找到了一份。

And so they decided to look for jobs in Spokane and in Boise, and she got a job here.

Speaker 1

所以他们在这儿已经快十四年了,和我待的时间差不多,而我父母是两年前才搬过来的。

And so they've been here almost as long as I have, about fourteen years, and then my parents moved out here two years ago.

Speaker 1

现在我们带孩子有这么多帮手,真的特别好。

So we have tons of help with my son which is so nice.

Speaker 0

真了不起,那你来博伊西是因为在这儿上学吗?

It's amazing and so you are in Boise because that's where you went to school?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

而且

And

Speaker 0

你就一直没走吗?

you just never left?

Speaker 1

是啊,我在这儿上大学。

Yeah I went to school here.

Speaker 1

Boise 是个很棒的地方,以前一直是个低调的秘密,现在开始被人发现了。

I mean Boise is an amazing place it's kind of the best kept secret that's starting to get out now.

Speaker 1

过去几年,尤其是新冠疫情以来,搬来这里的人特别多。

We've had a lot of people that have moved here in the last probably, honestly, since COVID in the last, yeah, four or five years.

Speaker 1

我2010年来这里上大学,之后其实也没打算离开,尤其是我公婆搬过来之后,我大学时就结婚了。

But, yeah, I came to college here in 2010, and then, we never really planned on leaving, honestly, after our in laws you know, I got married in college.

Speaker 1

等公婆搬来,我最好的朋友也紧跟着在毕业后来这儿,我身边的人一个接一个都聚到这边了。

And once our in laws were here and then my best friend moved out right after, we graduated college, like, all my people started coming out here.

Speaker 1

所以,是这样。

And so, yeah.

Speaker 1

我们就决定留下来了,而且我的教练刚拿到了博伊西州立大学的职位,现在他也在城里,我们算是真正安定下来了,这挺好的。

That we we decided to stay and and then my coach my coach actually just got the Boise State job so now we're kind of here for good now that he's in town as well which is very nice.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你这下可真扎根了。

You're locked in.

Speaker 1

对。

Yes.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我听你在一次赛后采访中提到,关于赞助的事,你不愿意搬走。

I heard you say in one of your post race interviews that, you know, one of the things with sponsorship was that you're not willing to move.

Speaker 0

你就想留在博伊西。

Like, you want to stay in Boise.

Speaker 0

我很欣赏你得到了Tracksmith的支持。

And I love that you had the support from Tracksmith.

Speaker 0

我也知道,Tracksmith的赞助 mostly 是提供运动装备,不像那些大额赞助那样铺天盖地。

I also know that those Tracksmith sponsorships are like mostly apparel and not like these big huge sponsorships.

Speaker 0

但对他们给予你的支持,你心里是什么感觉?

But what did that mean to you to have their support?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

他们真的特别棒,而且在我怀孕期间就开始支持我了,这真的很暖心。

They've been awesome, and they actually started supporting me when I was pregnant, which is really cool.

Speaker 1

那时候他们刚开始和我的俱乐部Idaho Foot合作,还特别开心地跟我说,马丽莎,我们等你重新回到赛场。

They started kinda working with my club, Idaho Foot, at that point, and they were, like, very excited to, like, Marisa, we can't wait until you're back out there.

Speaker 1

他们确实一直都在。

And, you know, they yeah.

Speaker 1

他们真的非常支持我。

They've been really, really supportive.

Speaker 1

尼克·威利斯是负责运动员协调的,他希望我们能拿到更大的合同。

And Nick Willis is like the athlete, kind of athlete coordinator and he wants us to get a big deal.

Speaker 1

他希望我们能转向更大的公司,也很高兴他们能成为我们前进的跳板。

He wants us to move on to a bigger company and he loves that they can be a stepping stone for that.

Speaker 1

所以我入选队伍后,他特别兴奋,说希望现在你能离开我们了,他们也为自己能参与这段旅程感到开心。

And so obviously after I made the team, he was very excited and he's like, I'm hopeful that now you can, yeah, move on from us and they're happy that they got to be a part of the journey.

Speaker 0

这真是太棒了。

Oh, that is so cool.

Speaker 0

我很喜欢这一点。

I love that.

Speaker 0

他们希望你顺利启程,真好。

I love that they want you to be sent off.

Speaker 1

对。

Yep.

Speaker 1

他们希望我们展翅高飞。

They want us to spread our wings and fly.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我觉得他们确实,你知道的,他们真的做到了。

And I think they do you know, they yeah.

Speaker 1

他们在选拔赛上的表现太棒了。

They did an amazing job at the trials.

Speaker 1

他们请了整骨师,每天还提供午餐。

You know, they bring in chiropractors and they provide lunch every day.

Speaker 1

他们还安排了住宿。

They provide housing.

Speaker 1

这基本上是你需要的一切了,而且他们还给了一点补贴。

That I mean, that's everything you need, you know, and they provide a little bit a little bit of money.

Speaker 1

不过,就那场赛事来说,这些已经够全面了。

But, yeah, that's that's everything you need at at that meet.

Speaker 1

可惜的是,其他比赛他们没法提供这么多支持,但选拔赛上我该有的全都有了,这真是太好了。

Unfortunately, other meets throughout the year, they're not able to help with as much, but I had everything I needed at the trials to be successful, which which was awesome.

Speaker 0

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

咱们聊聊那十五秒的个人最佳成绩吧,我知道这个问题你最近肯定被问了很多次。

Let's talk about that fifteen second PR, which I know that is a question you're probably getting a lot.

Speaker 0

这简直太惊人了。

That is wild and crazy.

Speaker 0

我一想到这些成绩,就想起周日那场1500米比赛,我相信你——我不确定你有没有看,听说你当时生病了。

And when I think about these times, well, I was thinking about, after the 1,500 meter race on Sunday, which I'm sure you well, I don't know if you watched because you were sick.

Speaker 0

你有看那场比赛吗?

Did you get to watch that?

Speaker 1

我们回放看了。

We watched the replay.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

太好了。

Great.

Speaker 0

我在想那些女选手,她们说要是提前告诉你,这次比赛必须跑出这个成绩才能进队,你可能根本就扛不住,心里早就乱了。

I was thinking about some of these women who were saying like if you would have told me like this was the time we had to run or like this was the time I would have to run and I still wouldn't make the team like I would be all up in my head.

Speaker 0

所以你参加这场比赛的时候,知道要进队可能需要什么成绩,你是会去想具体时间,还是就只想好好跑出自己的最佳表现?

So like did you, when you entered this race knowing what it might take to make the team in the steeple, like did you even think about time or did you just think I'm just gonna run my best race?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我觉得,我教练这周末的安排特别到位。

I think, you know, my my coach, he did such a good job of managing this weekend.

Speaker 1

他跟我说,别带着任何预设来参赛,别去想什么时间、谁能进队,这些都别管。

He said, don't come into this race with any preconceptions about what the time is gonna be, who's gonna make the team, or anything like that.

Speaker 1

我觉得这样反而让一切都有了可能。

And I think that left it open to, you know, allow anything to happen.

Speaker 1

我们知道,他今年春天就跟我说过,会让我准备好跑出九分十秒,最后全力冲刺。

We knew, you know, he did tell me, like, this spring, like, I'm gonna have you ready to run 09:10 and close hard.

Speaker 1

那时候我们就清楚,需要达到这样的体能水平。

You know, that was kinda like the the fitness that we knew we needed to be in.

Speaker 1

但我发现,当我完全不知道时间的时候,反而跑得最好。

But I think I always race well when I don't know the time.

Speaker 1

我所有重大个人最好成绩,还有那些表现特别出色的比赛,都是因为我全神贯注在跑步本身,根本没去看计时器。

All of my, like, big PRs and my big races where I've, like, done really well is generally when I'm just, like, really locked in and focused and, like, just racing and not focused on the clock at all.

Speaker 1

要是教练在旁边报分段成绩,说‘你慢了’之类的,我反而发挥不好。

I kinda don't do great in, like, scenarios where, like, a coach is reading a split and, like, oh, you're off.

Speaker 1

你懂的。

You know?

Speaker 1

比如你们现在慢了啊,之类的话。

Like, you guys are slowing and blah blah blah.

Speaker 1

所以我直到冲过终点线,才晓得我们跑得多快。

So I, yeah, I had no idea how fast we were running until we crossed the finish line.

Speaker 1

说实话,我完全没意识到我们跑得这么快。

I mean, I had no clue that we were, like, cruising fast.

Speaker 1

对啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我当时完全沉浸在里面了。

I was just so locked in.

Speaker 1

那段我家人录的视频里有个特别有意思的地方,你看到我老公拽了个人的袖子,喊着快看时间。

And there the cool part of that video of my family is you can see my husband grabbing somebody's shirt, he was like, look at the clock.

Speaker 1

他简直急疯了。

Look at he was freaking out.

Speaker 1

看那段视频特别有意思。

And so that was really fun to watch it.

Speaker 1

我真没想到我们跑得这么快。

And, had no idea that we were running that fast.

Speaker 0

哇。

Wow.

Speaker 0

你丈夫对这项运动感兴趣吗?他参与得多吗?

What does your husband like, what does what is his involvement in the sport?

Speaker 0

他大学的时候跑过步吗?

Like, did he run-in college?

Speaker 0

他到底懂多少关于运动的知识?

How did how is how much does he know about sport?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 1

他大学时确实跑过。

So he ran in college.

Speaker 1

他主要跑五公里和十公里,后来我们俩一起在这里的高中当教练,带越野跑和田径队。

He was a five k, 10 k runner, and then we coached cross country high school track and cross country together here in town.

Speaker 1

所以他现在是越野跑的教练。

So he's a high cross country coach.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

所以我们一起教本地的高中。

So we coach a local high school.

Speaker 1

他对这项运动非常投入。

So he's very involved in the sport.

Speaker 1

他可能懂太多了,但他特别擅长扮演丈夫的角色,而不是教练的角色。

He probably knows too much, but he does a really good job of taking on the husband role and not the coaching role.

Speaker 1

有时候我问他意见,他就说:‘玛丽莎,我是你丈夫。’

Sometimes I'm like asking him for feedback and stuff, and he's like, Marisa, I'm your husband.

Speaker 1

你的教练做得特别棒,而且我自己作为运动员和教练,对自己要求也很高。

Like, your coach is doing an amazing job, and and I'm hard on myself as, you know, as an athlete and as a coach.

Speaker 1

所以他特别好地保持了丈夫的身份,真的很暖心。

And so he does a really good job of, yeah, staying in that husband role, is really really sweet.

Speaker 0

那个障碍赛赛道感觉特别开阔。

The Steeple felt really wide open.

Speaker 0

你明白吧?

Know?

Speaker 0

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

我们当然知道考特尼和艾玛不会参赛。

Obviously, we knew that Courtney and Emma weren't running the race.

Speaker 0

看到别人受伤确实让人难过,但赛前你有没有觉得,这场比赛机会很大,你很有希望?

You hate to see people injured, but did you feel like going into it, race is wide open and I have a really great shot here?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

有意思的是,考特尼退出之后,

I the interesting thing is after, yeah, after Courtney, you know, obviously pulled out.

Speaker 1

真是挺遗憾的。

I mean, just a bummer.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

我知道这本来就是比赛的一部分。

And I know that's all part of Right.

Speaker 1

这项运动就是这样。

The sport.

Speaker 1

但我们真觉得,大概有八到十位选手都有机会。

But, yeah, we really thought, you know, eight to 10 women had a a real shot.

Speaker 1

有八位选手达到了奥运标准。

You know, eight women had the Olympic standard.

Speaker 1

我觉得决赛里又有两三个选手达标了。

I think two or three more got it during the final.

Speaker 1

所以我觉得,嗯,大概有……我不太确定。

So I think we probably have I don't know.

Speaker 1

是十一位吗?

Was that 11?

Speaker 1

我可能数错了,但一年内有十一位选手达到奥运标准,真是惊人。

I'm probably I I don't know if I'm miscounting, but 11 women with the Olympic standard in one year is Wow.

Speaker 1

太疯狂了。

Insane.

Speaker 1

所以,说实话,我们当时觉得竞争特别开放,我教练也说,别提前预设谁是最强的、谁一定能进队之类的。

And so, yeah, I think, we really felt like it was really wide open and that's where my coach said, like, don't have any preconceptions of, like, who's the best runner, who's gonna make this team, or whatever.

Speaker 1

我觉得这样反而让我能毫无压力、毫无成见地去参赛,就专心跑,看最后谁能脱颖而出。

And I think that allowed, yeah, to that allowed, me to just come in with, like, yeah, no no pressure, no preconceived ideas, and just race and see, yeah, who could come out on top.

Speaker 0

当安妮·罗登菲尔德一上来就冲得那么猛的时候,你在想什么?

What were you thinking when Annie Rodenfeld's, like, took it out so hard?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我知道她在采访里提到过,自己跨栏其实挺吃力的。

I, I know she mentioned this in her interview that she, like, really struggles with the hurdles.

Speaker 1

所以,我其实不太清楚她跑得多快,但我觉得,迟早我们会慢慢追上她。

And so, I think, I guess I didn't know how fast she was going, but I I felt like eventually we would likely reel her in slowly.

Speaker 1

对。

I think Mhmm.

Speaker 1

我知道科特妮·韦曼说,她觉得那个速度有点太猛了。

I know Courtney Wehman said that she felt like that pace was just a little bit too aggressive.

Speaker 1

科特妮参加过很多顶级赛事,比如钻石联赛和世锦赛,所以我相信她能很好地控制节奏,慢慢追上去。

And so I know Courtney has been in a lot of high level races between Diamond Leagues and Worlds, and so I kinda trusted that she, you know, would do a good job of kinda reeling her back in.

Speaker 1

我心里清楚,我们迟早能追上她,但如果她真能一路领先到底,那可就太精彩了。

And so I think in my head, I knew we'd eventually, you know, hopefully reel her back in, but it would have been phenomenal had she you know kind of wire job that.

Speaker 1

所以我很佩服她,敢这么拼一把。

So yeah I commend her for yeah taking a shot at it.

Speaker 0

是的,她那个小停顿,我觉得她可能是怕撞上别人。

Yeah that that like little stutter step that she did and I think she probably just like didn't want to cause a crash.

Speaker 0

我也不知道该怎么说,就是怕出事故。

I don't know how else to say it crash.

Speaker 0

说‘事故’这个词,听起来还挺滑稽的。

I think that's funny to say it

Speaker 1

这么讲。

that way.

Speaker 1

我知道她用水跳时是双脚落地的,我觉得这样挺好。

I know know she two foot lands the water jump, and so I think yeah.

Speaker 1

我当时就是留意着这点,确保自己选好路线,别跟在她后面落地。

I think I was just being aware of that and and making sure that I had a good line and and maybe wasn't landing behind her.

Speaker 1

但她落地太快了,简直驾轻就熟。

But she lands so quick and, like I mean, she has it down.

Speaker 1

很多女选手都不用双脚落地,但我回看比赛时真觉得,她双脚落地还能这么快冲出来,太厉害了。

I know a lot of women don't do the two foot landing, but I when I was watching the race back, I'm like, man, she gets out of there very fast for being a two foot lander.

Speaker 1

确实如此。

So, yeah.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

她真的把这招摸透了。

She really has has it figured out.

Speaker 0

到了最后一跳,奥利维亚的腿突然一软,直接摔了下去。

At that last jump when Olivia's legs, they basically just like give out and she falls.

Speaker 0

最后两跳的时候,你的腿感觉怎么样?还得跨过最后一道栏,然后全力冲向终点。

I wanna know like how did your legs feel on those last two jumps and, you know, then you have to you gotta get over that last barrier and just go.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

跨过最后一道栏时,我的腿已经快没力气了。

My legs felt pretty shot going over that last hurdle.

Speaker 1

我当时都不确定能不能过去,就在心里祈祷:主啊,求你让我冲到终点吧。

I didn't know if I would make it over, and I was just praying, you know, like, please, Lord, like, just get me to the finish line.

Speaker 1

我直到赛后回看录像,才知道她摔倒了。

And I actually didn't know she went down until after the race until I didn't even know until after the watching it back.

Speaker 1

直到几个小时后回看比赛,我才意识到她摔倒了。

Like, I didn't realize it until, you know, watching the race back hours later that she had gone down.

Speaker 1

真的吗?

Really?

Speaker 1

我当时就是太专注了。

I think I was just so focused.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我眼里只看前方,生怕被超了,根本没注意后面发生了什么。

I mean, I was just eyes ahead, like, not wanna get caught, and so I had no idea what was kinda going on behind me.

Speaker 1

我就是不想在终点线被反超,拼了命也要冲到终点。

I just did not wanna get nipped at the line, so I was just trying my hardest to to get to the finish line.

Speaker 0

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

那是一种什么感觉?

And what did that feel like?

Speaker 1

我简直不敢相信,你知道吗?信仰一直是我职业生涯的重要部分,那晚我特别感恩,觉得这是上帝给我的安排。

Just shock that I, you know, I obviously, my faith is a big part of my career and just, yeah, just very thankful that that's what the Lord had for me that night.

Speaker 1

我在赛后采访里说过,赢了的时候感谢上帝很容易,但我希望自己不管输赢,都能心存感恩。

And, you know, I said in my post race interview, like, I think it's easy to, you know, thank the Lord, you know, in victory, but, you know, I wanna be an athlete that also thanks him in defeat as well.

Speaker 1

你知道吗,每次能站上美国锦标赛的起跑线,都是值得感恩的时刻。

You know, I think anytime you get an opportunity to line up at a US championship is is, you know, a moment to be thankful for.

Speaker 1

有很多女运动员,今年多想能有机会站在那里啊。

Like, there's women that would have killed to be out there this year.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

光是科伯恩和弗雷克斯两个人,就足够让人羡慕了。

You know, between Coburn and Frerex alone.

Speaker 1

是啊。

But Mhmm.

Speaker 1

真的就是,太幸运了。

Just yeah.

Speaker 1

我丈夫总跟我说,玛丽莎,你靠这个吃饭,多不容易。

And my husband always says this, Marisa, you get to do this for a living.

Speaker 1

这真是莫大的荣幸。

Like, what an honor that is.

Speaker 1

你知道吧。

You know?

Speaker 1

这得多酷啊。

Like, how cool that is.

Speaker 1

所以我真的特别感恩,能有这个机会。

So I'm, yeah, I'm just very thankful that I even yeah.

Speaker 1

我能靠这个谋生。

That I get to do this for a living.

Speaker 1

这工作得多棒啊。

Like, how how cool of a job is that?

Speaker 1

你知道吧。

You know?

Speaker 0

大家好。

And somebody asked me, like, I don't get it with the filling.

Speaker 0

嗯,我明白。

Okay.

Speaker 0

我懂了。

I get it.

Speaker 0

可能听起来有点奇怪,但我跟你说,它一点都不结块。

Maybe that sounds a little bit confusing, but I'm telling you, it's not lumpy.

Speaker 0

也不怪异。

It's not weird.

Speaker 0

就是完美。

It's just perfection.

Speaker 0

Speaker 0

好了,各位。

Alright, friends.

Speaker 0

接着聊我和玛丽莎的对话。

Back to my conversation with Marisa.

Speaker 0

去年是瓦尔·瓦尔·康斯坦。

Well, and so last year, it was Val Val Constine.

Speaker 0

她入选队伍的时候还没签赞助。

She was not sponsored when she made the team.

Speaker 0

所以现在我们知道她已经签了赞助合同。

And so and now we know she has a sponsorship deal.

Speaker 0

而你现在是那个还没签赞助的人。

And so now you are the one without the sponsorship deal.

Speaker 0

我们都知道你正在和Tracksmith合作。

I mean, we know you've you're working with Tracksmith.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

所以,你有没有觉得,既然你已经入选了奥运代表队,赞助的事也快成了?

So, hopefully do you feel hopeful that now that you've made an Olympic team that that'll come to fruition?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我的经纪人这周已经和三家公司在接洽了。

My agents already has three companies that we're kinda chatting with this week.

Speaker 1

所以,希望我们能在接下来几周内签下来,赶在奥运会前,也希望未来几年能获得一些支持。

So yeah, hopeful that we can sign something in the next few weeks, leaning up into the Olympics, and we get some get some support hopefully through the next few years.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你们现在可是靠着你丈夫当老师的工资过日子啊。

Because, I mean, it's really you guys are living on your husband's teacher salary.

Speaker 0

你们俩全身心都扑在跑步这个梦想上了。

Like, you and you are all in on this running dream.

Speaker 0

这可不是小事。

I mean, that's that's a lot.

Speaker 0

你们俩都付出了太多牺牲。

That's a lot of sacrifice on both of your ends.

Speaker 0

我们都清楚,靠老师的工资生活有多难。

And as we all know, living on a teacher's salary can be hard.

Speaker 0

所以这对你们来说,真的很重要,也很让人振奋。

So this is important and exciting for you.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

幸运的是,主总会提供帮助。

Thankfully, the Lord always provides.

Speaker 1

你知道,我们从来没为这个梦想借过债。

You know, we're never you know, we never got into debt, you know, for for this dream.

Speaker 1

有时候我会去领跑比赛,或者赢点奖金,这也算一种机会。

And there's been opportunities where, you know, I pace a race and I make some money or I win some prize money.

Speaker 1

去年我赢了雅基马英里赛。

I mean, last year, won the Yakima Road Mile.

Speaker 1

就这一英里比赛,奖金就有五千美元。

That mile alone is $5,000, you know.

Speaker 1

所以一般来说,我都能赚回成本。

So usually, I am generally able to come out on top.

Speaker 1

去年报税的时候,我把所有开销都列了进去,毕竟都是我自己掏的钱。

I will say when we were doing our taxes this last year, I think like, I write everything off, right, because I'm paying for it.

Speaker 1

我们去年报了一万七千美元的开支,但我的实际收入只有区区一万。

And I think we wrote off, $17,000 in expenses, and I only technically made Nice.

Speaker 1

一万。

10,000.

Speaker 1

天哪,这真是让人没想到。

And so I'm like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 1

你为这件事花了不少钱。

You spent a lot of money on this.

Speaker 1

但这一切都值得。

But it was worth it.

Speaker 1

你看看现在。

I mean, look now.

Speaker 1

我们成功入选了奥运代表队。

We made an Olympic team.

Speaker 1

绝对值了。

So definitely worth it.

Speaker 0

完全同意。

Totally.

Speaker 0

完全同意。

Totally.

Speaker 0

完全同意。

Totally.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你经常提到自己的信仰,这一点我很钦佩。

You do talk about your faith a lot, which I admire.

Speaker 0

当我想到其他谈论信仰的运动员时,我会想到莎拉·霍尔,还有西蒙·麦克劳克林。

And when I think about other athletes who talk about their faith, I think Sarah Hall, sim Sydney McLaughlin.

Speaker 0

我还在想还有谁。

I'm trying to think of others.

Speaker 0

比如莎拉,她一直都很坚定,你知道的。

And so and that's oh, like, Sarah, it's like been, you know, she always Yeah.

Speaker 0

归根结底还是这个问题。

Comes back to that.

Speaker 0

所以我很好奇,是的。

And so I'm curious Yeah.

Speaker 0

对你来说,为什么这件事这么重要?你是怎么决定利用自己的声音的,尤其是现在你作为运动员,影响力越来越大了。

Why that's important to you and how you've decided to use your voice as especially as, like, now you're you're as an athlete, you're being elevated.

Speaker 0

人们都在听你的故事,很明显,你觉得分享这些很重要。

Like, people are hearing your story, and it's clear to me that you find it important to talk about.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我记得几年前,美国锦标赛期间会举办运动员查普尔活动。

Something I remember a few years ago, they do these athlete chapels at US championships.

Speaker 1

我记得坐在旁边的一些奥运金牌得主说,他们赢了金牌,但内心那个空洞却并没有被填满。

And I remember sitting next to, you know, Olympic gold medalists and them saying they won that medal and it didn't feel it didn't fill that hole inside of them.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

你知道吗,我觉得作为人,内心总缺了点什么,对吧?

And, know, they Yeah, there's, I think as a human, like there's this piece missing, right?

Speaker 1

我知道不是每个人都有信仰,但我觉得人生远不止奖牌和跑步这些事。

And I know not everybody has faith, but I just, there's just so much more to this life than medals and then running.

Speaker 1

你必须在这些之外找到某种根基。

And I think you have to be grounded in something outside of it.

Speaker 1

幸运的是,我的信仰给了我这个根基。

Thankfully, I have I have my faith for that.

Speaker 1

但如果你没有,一旦这些外在的东西崩塌了——比如受伤了,或者没入选队伍,诸如此类的事。

But I think if you're not, when all those things come coming down or you get injured or you don't make the team, things like that.

Speaker 1

如果你没有外在的根基,你的自我认同就会被夺走。

If you're not grounded in something outside of it, your identity is taken.

Speaker 1

所以我一直努力让我的身份扎根于基督,而不是我做过什么或取得过什么成就,这正是我的信仰对我如此重要的原因。

And so I think making sure that my identity is rooted in Christ and not rooted in, you know, what I've done or in in any of my accomplishments is is kind of, yeah, why why my faith is so so important to me.

Speaker 0

还有,这种胜利的时候,别把一切成就都押在上面。

Also, in this, like, victory, like, not letting everything rest in that.

Speaker 0

别一想,我做到了。

Like, oh, I did it.

Speaker 0

就在这儿了。

Here it is.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

完全没错。

Totally.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我记得,那时候,我和我丈夫开车回家,开了一半路程,凯伊在车里大喊大叫,就个两岁小孩那样。

I, yeah, I remember, like, you know, I remember our car ride after like, my husband and I, we drove, like, halfway home, and Kai is, like, screaming in the car just being a two year old.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

你会很快意识到自己有多渺小,他根本不在乎妈妈是不是奥运冠军。

And you get humbled really quick, like, realize, like, he doesn't care that mommy's an Olympian.

Speaker 1

他就是累了,你知道的。

Like, he's just tired and you know?

Speaker 1

所以你会被拉回现实,明白过来。

So you get you get humbled and you realize, yeah.

Speaker 1

我的身份并不是因为我是一名奥运选手。

Like, my identity is not in the fact that I'm an Olympian.

Speaker 1

我的身份在于,我是一个上帝的孩子,我觉得这才是我最该扎根的地方,尤其是在现在这个新平台上。

Like, it's in the fact that, yeah, I'm a I'm a child of God and and, yeah, I think that's a great place for me to be rooted always, but especially now with this new platform.

Speaker 1

你懂的。

You know?

Speaker 1

很容易被冲昏头脑,卷进去,但我认为,其实不然。

I think it can be easy to get kinda carried away and and get swept up in it, but just I think it's yeah.

Speaker 1

我很庆幸自己的根基扎得这么深。

I'm I'm glad that I have my roots sunk down in that.

Speaker 0

那这份信念是从哪儿来的呢?

And where does that come from?

Speaker 0

你是在教会里长大的吗?

Did you grow up in the church?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我觉得我们大部分时间都是在教堂长大的,但我觉得,你知道的,到了某个阶段,你得自己把信仰变成自己的东西。

I would say we grew up going to church for the most part, but I'd say, you know, at one point, you have to make it your own.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

你懂吧?

You know?

Speaker 1

你的父母,你知道的,会带你去教堂。

Your parents, you know, are are bringing you to church.

Speaker 1

但我觉得,真正成为我自己的信仰,是在十几岁的时候,大概十三四岁吧。

But I I would say it really became, you know, my own faith when I was a teenager, like 13, 14 years old.

Speaker 1

那时候我有一些特别好的朋友,经常带我去青年团契和教会营会,现在他们依然是我最好的朋友之一。

I had some really great friends that would bring me to youth group and church camp, and some of those friends are still some of my best friends to this day.

Speaker 1

他们至今还在为我祷告,不断支持我、鼓励我。

And, you know, they're still praying for me and pouring into me.

Speaker 1

现在作为妻子和妈妈,我身边同样有一群特别好的人,一直在支持着我。

Now as, you know, as a wife and as a mom, I just have, yeah, such a great community pouring into me.

Speaker 1

我都想象不出有多少人在为我祷告。

I can't even imagine how many people are praying.

Speaker 1

当然,祷告最终不是为了赢比赛,而是顺服神的旨意,求祂每天的带领。不过说实话,那次确实如愿进了队,我真的很感恩。

I mean, and not that, you know, you pray ultimately for the Lord's will and not to win the race, but just like for whatever he has for that day, you know, and obviously, it was to make the team, and I'm very thankful for that.

Speaker 1

但我只想活在祂的旨意里,这才是最重要的。

But, yeah, I just wanna be within his will and, yeah, that's what's important.

Speaker 0

所以你儿子两岁了。

And so your son is two.

Speaker 0

你是障碍赛跑队里唯一的妈妈吗?

Were you the only mom in the Steeplechase field?

Speaker 1

对。

Yes.

Speaker 1

我是唯一的妈妈。

I was the only mom.

Speaker 0

那现在参赛是什么感觉呢?

What does that like, what does competing feel like now?

Speaker 0

我是说,2021年奥运选拔赛你拿了第五名。

I mean, so in 2021, fifth place at the Olympic Trials.

Speaker 0

从那以后,过了一年,你生了个宝宝。

Since then, a year later, you had a baby.

Speaker 0

现在的状态看起来怎么样?

Does that look like now?

Speaker 0

比如,对你来说,现在参赛的感觉有什么不同?

Like, how does does competing feel differently to you?

Speaker 1

说实话,没有。

Honestly, no.

Speaker 1

我2023年重新回到赛场时,那年也拿了第五名,我真没想到,一切居然这么快就回来了。

Like, when I got back out there in 2023, and I was fifth in '23 as well, I I was surprised at how that, like, it all just came back.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

我还以为得花点时间才能找回那种冲劲和动力,结果它一下子就回来了,我自己都惊了。

I thought, like, oh, it might take some time to, like, kinda get that that drive and that motivation back, but it came back, and I was, like, wow.

Speaker 1

你看,我们还在继续。

Like, we're still here.

Speaker 1

我们还在坚持。

We're still doing it.

Speaker 1

我觉得自己一点都没变。

Like, we're not any different, I felt like.

Speaker 1

但真的很暖心,他能亲眼看到妈妈在追逐自己的梦想。

But, yeah, it's really sweet that he gets to see mommy doing this and mommy, you know, chasing her dreams.

Speaker 1

我丈夫说,你在决赛时得想想,那些女选手都能专心当职业跑者。

And my husband said, you know, something you need to think about when you're in that final is, like, all these women, like, they just get to be pro runners.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

她们可以放松、休息,不用走路,而你呢,整天追着个 toddler 满屋子跑,真的。

You know, they get to relax and be off their feet and, like, you're chasing a toddler around, like Yeah.

Speaker 1

他总有各种需求等着你去满足。

Constantly, you know, he has needs that need to be met.

Speaker 1

所以他就是说,嗯。

And so he just yeah.

Speaker 1

我丈夫就只是提醒我,要记住这一点,就是啊。

My husband was just, like, just try to remember that, like, that yeah.

Speaker 1

你做的这一切,不只是为了自己。

You're you're doing this for more than just yourself.

Speaker 1

你有个小男孩,他特别崇拜你,真的。

Like, you have this little boy that, like, thinks the world of you and and and yeah.

Speaker 1

所以每次我出去跑步的时候,都会提醒自己,没错。

So I I try to remember that when I'm out there that that yeah.

Speaker 1

妈妈们能扛住特别难的事,我觉得真有一种‘妈妈的力量’,确实如此。

Moms moms can do hard things, and I think there is such a thing as mom strength and so yeah.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我听你说过你在家生的孩子,我心里就想,没错。

I heard you say you had a home birth, and I'm thinking, yeah.

Speaker 0

这简直就是妈妈力量的体现。

That's the mom strength right there.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我记得在采访里说过,我们对止痛药和酒精的反应特别不一样,所以干脆就不给自己用这些选项。

We I think I said in my interview, we I react, like, really interesting thing interestingly to, like, pain meds and alcohol, and so we just didn't really wanna give myself that option.

Speaker 1

我们那次居家分娩非常成功,母子都很健康,我觉得以后也不会改变这种方式。

And we had a very successful home birth, like, very healthy, and I don't think I'll do it any different

Speaker 0

对以后的孩子也是这样。

for future children.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我本来想说,现在挺有意思的,你去巴黎的时候,儿子才两岁,对吧。

I was gonna say, I mean, it's interesting now because you'll go to Paris and then and your son is two and Mhmm.

Speaker 0

你看,现在很多女性到了四十多岁还在高水平竞技。

You know, like, we see women competing a very high level into their forties.

Speaker 0

对啊。

So Yeah.

Speaker 0

不过生育规划确实挺有挑战的,毕竟真正间隔得好要整整十八个月。

Like, the family planning thing is challenging though because obviously that's like, you know, it's a good eighteen months really.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

都是因为你高强度的训练。

Off of your intense training.

Speaker 0

你是怎么做到的?幸运的是,品牌们现在都没问题。

How do you go about and thankfully brands are not.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

说到底,到底是什么呢?

You know, like, what is it?

Speaker 0

是扣除什么的,你怎么叫都行。

Deductions or whatever you wanna call it.

Speaker 0

2024年、2025年,品牌们对孕妇的态度真的挺好的。

Like, brands are being really good about pregnancy in 2024, 2025.

Speaker 0

你觉得自己在这几年里,该怎么看待和规划这件事?

How do you think about that and plan that out as you're very much in those, like, those years?

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

完全没错

Totally.

Speaker 1

对

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我的意思是,显然生完孩子后我状态更好了,希望品牌能注意到这一点。

I mean, obviously, I showed that I'm better after having a child child, and so I think, hopefully, a brand will see that.

Speaker 1

你说得真到位。

Real I think you hit the nail on the head.

Speaker 1

大概十八个月左右,时间确实挺短的。

It's probably about eighteen months really to where and that was short I think that's a short window.

Speaker 1

你懂的。

You know?

Speaker 1

我也有同感。

I felt Yeah.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我觉得我生完孩子后,不到九个月就完全恢复了,你知道的。

I felt like I was totally back, you know, within eighteen months or within nine months after having him.

Speaker 1

所以怀孕九个月,然后生完孩子,又是九个月。

So nine months of pregnancy and then Yeah.

Speaker 1

生完他之后的九个月。

Nine months after having him.

Speaker 1

但我觉得那一年真是我身体的一个绝佳重启期。

But I felt like that was a great reset year for my body.

Speaker 1

那时候我没拼命跑跳,也没做那种高强度训练。

You know, I wasn't pounding the pavement and doing this intense training.

Speaker 1

所以在我心里,我觉得那些流失的年头,以后还能慢慢补回来。

And so in my head, I feel like I'm getting those years back down the road.

Speaker 1

我觉得正是这样,很多女性到了三十八九、四十出头反而状态特别好,比如莎拉·沃恩就是个典型的例子。

And so I think that I think that's where these women are showing that they're really good, you know, into their late thirties, early forties because I think Sarah Vaughn is somebody who comes to mind.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

她每四年就生一个孩子,但跑得依然特别出色。

She has had a baby, you know, every four years and, you know, is still running phenomenally.

Speaker 1

我觉得这对身体来说是个不错的调整期。

And so I think I think it's a good break for your body.

Speaker 1

当然,怀孕对身体是有负担的。

Obviously, it's hard on your body.

Speaker 1

怀孕本身不容易,但从训练的角度看,它确实给身体带来了一次很好的重启。

You know, pregnancy is not easy on your body, but I think training wise, it is a nice little reset for your body.

Speaker 1

希望我能多年后还能享受到这些好处。

So, hopefully, I get to reap the benefits, you know, for years to come.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我喜欢这个想法。

I love that idea.

Speaker 0

我觉得我们都该更主动地接受这一点,毕竟没法做自己喜欢的事,身体还要经历这么多变化,怀孕确实不容易。

I think that we should all embrace that a little bit more too because it does get hard, you know, like, to not be able to do what we love to do and for your body to go through all those I mean, pregnancy is hard.

Speaker 0

这真的挺耗费精力的。

It's like a lot of work.

Speaker 0

没错。

So Yeah.

Speaker 0

如果我们能好好利用这一点,我很高兴你提到了这个观点。

If we can, like, lean on that, I love that that you brought that up.

Speaker 0

这就像是一个重新开始。

It's like a reset.

Speaker 0

这是个有意识地休息的好时机。

It's like a time for intentional rest.

Speaker 1

我认识很多朋友,她们本来就很强大,本地的妈妈们生完孩子后反而更强了。没错,怀孕期间你确实会感觉失控,身体不断变化,但熬过去之后,反而成了更好的运动员,知道这一点真的很暖心。

I've had a lot of friends who are stronger and, you know, friends locally and even moms who are just stronger after having these babies, you know, and, yes, it is this time where, like, you don't feel in control of your body and all these changes are happening, but to be on the other side of it and be a better athlete afterwards, it's really sweet to to know that, yeah, we we are better afterwards.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你当初怀孕的时候,能想到两年后我会跑出9分07秒吗?

Did you ever think when you became pregnant, two years after this, I'm gonna run nine zero seven.

Speaker 1

不可能。

No.

Speaker 1

我怀孕期间,有个队友跑出了9分07秒。

And one of my teammates while I was pregnant, she ran nine zero seven.

Speaker 1

她是英国的障碍赛选手。

She's a British Steeplechase.

Speaker 1

我记得看到她跑的时候,就觉得:我好像也能做到。

And I remember seeing her do that and thinking, I feel like I can do that.

Speaker 1

我们的训练内容其实很相似,方方面面都差不多。

You know, I mean, we've we've run very similar workouts and all this stuff.

Speaker 1

我知道自己有这个能力,只是她参加的高水平比赛更多,比如钻石联赛、欧洲锦标赛和英联邦运动会。

So I knew it was in there, but she's just had a lot more high level ex you know, races because she's been in Diamond Leagues and, you know, Europeans and Commonwealth.

Speaker 1

所以我没得到过那样的机会,也没被赋予过同样的平台。

And so I just don't think I was given or had those same opportunities.

Speaker 1

所以那天终于把一切都串起来了,真的。

And so finally connecting it and putting it together on that day and yeah.

Speaker 1

我虽然一直梦想着跑出9分07秒,但真正成为9分07秒的一员时,还是觉得不可思议。

I mean, I've dreamed of 09/2007, but to finally be a 09/2007 girl is like, wow.

Speaker 1

我们终于做到了。

We finally did it.

Speaker 0

太让人激动了。

It's so exciting.

Speaker 0

障碍赛真的发展了很多。

The Steeplechase has really, like, it's expanded.

Speaker 0

我觉得从2016年奥运会就能看出来,那时候赛道上选手的深度远不如现在。

I feel like even from the 2016 really, okay, if we look back to the twenty sixteen Olympics, I felt like there weren't there wasn't this, like, depth in the field.

Speaker 0

那时候就那么几个人,艾玛、考特尼、科琳。

It's like, it was like Emma, Courtney, Colleen.

Speaker 0

还有其他几位选手。

And there were some others in there.

Speaker 0

你当时也在里面。

You were in there.

Speaker 0

我知道你2016年受伤了。

I know you were injured in 2016.

Speaker 0

但是呢,

But, like

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你们这么多人实力这么强,居然有11个达到了奥运标准,真的吗?

The depth of how strong you all are, like, were saying, like, 11 of you with the Olympic standard, what?

Speaker 1

我知道。

I know.

Speaker 1

你有没有觉得

Do you

Speaker 0

这项运动现在爆发了,而且是不是有更多年轻人开始参与了?

feel like it's exploding, and are we seeing more people do it younger?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我觉得确实在迅猛发展。

I think it really is exploding.

Speaker 1

而且我们还看到,比如考特尼·韦曼特在室内五公里跑出了14分48秒甚至49秒,我觉得这说明我们不只是专攻障碍赛的选手,像几周前的莱克西·霍利迪·劳里,她也跑出了15分02秒的五公里成绩。

And I think we're also showing like, with Courtney Weymant running a fourteen forty eight or 49 in indoors in the five k, like, I think we're showing that we're not just these specialists that, like, even Lexi Lexi a few weeks ago, Lexi Holiday, Lowry, she ran 15 o two in a five k a few weeks ago.

Speaker 1

我觉得我们正在证明,我们不仅能做好障碍赛,其他项目也能表现得很出色。

Like, I think we're just showing, like, we're not just good steeplers that we can do well at these other events as well.

Speaker 1

不过说到障碍赛,我赛后看了世界排名,阿里·奥斯特朗德现在排在世界第20位。

But, yes, the steeplech I mean, I think I think I was looking at the world list after our race, and Ali is twentieth in the Ali Ostrander is twentieth in the world right now.

Speaker 1

她当时在选拔赛的成绩,我记不太清了,但这就说明可能……

So, I mean, and she was I don't know.

Speaker 1

我觉得这说明我们……

I I don't can't remember what she was at the trials, but that just shows maybe

Speaker 0

差不多就是这样。

something like that.

Speaker 1

我们有八位女选手进入前二十,这还没算上费里克斯和科伯恩。

Eight so we have eight women in the top 20, and that doesn't include Ferriks and Coburn.

Speaker 1

我的意思是,这都快十个人了。

Like, that's, I mean, 10.

Speaker 1

天哪。

Wow.

Speaker 1

也就是说,前二十名里差不多有十位是我们的人。

That I mean, essentially, 10 of the top 20.

Speaker 1

这太惊人了。

That's insane.

Speaker 1

是啊。

So Yeah.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yes.

Speaker 1

我觉得我们是在互相带动,共同提升。

I think we're just elevating each other.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 0

对

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你打算怎么为这个国际舞台做准备呢?比如和教练一起训练,还有心理上怎么调整?

How will you, like, how will you prepare for this world stage with, like, with your coach and everything and also just mentally?

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

对

Yeah.

Speaker 1

他说,周四晚上我们刚回到家,正准备休息,他就给我打了电话。

He said, you know, he called me on Thursday night after, you know, we were kind of just settling down at home.

Speaker 1

那时候都快十一点半了,我正要上床睡觉。

It was, 11:30 at night and trying to get ready for bed.

Speaker 1

说实话,我那一晚根本没睡。

I mean, I didn't sleep at all.

Speaker 1

但你知道,我正试着

But, you know, trying to

Speaker 0

你怎么可能做到?

How can you?

Speaker 0

你怎么能这样?

How could you?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

不行。

No.

Speaker 1

我觉得我只睡了一个半小时。

I think I think I slept an hour and a half.

Speaker 1

他说,好了,玛丽莎。

But he said, k, Marisa.

Speaker 1

我就说这一次,之后我们再也不提了。

I'm just gonna say this once right now, and then we're not gonna talk about it again.

Speaker 1

但我们得开始考虑冲击奥运决赛了。

But we need to start thinking about making an Olympic final.

Speaker 1

你知道的。

You know?

Speaker 1

他说,我不会再提了,但你心里得有数,因为我的成绩现在排在全球第六。

And he's like, I'm not gonna mention it again, but, like, that has to be in your mind because my time is number six in the world right now.

Speaker 1

我的目标本来只是能参加奥运会,但他却说——

And I mean, I never even you know, my goal is just to make the Olympics, but he said

Speaker 0

没错。

Right.

Speaker 1

我参加奥运会可不是为了凑数。

I'm not going to the Olympics just to participate.

Speaker 1

我同意。

And I agree.

Speaker 1

你想想,要是能排到第六,那真了不起。

Like, you know, I think when you're six, like, wow.

Speaker 1

拿奖牌并不是没可能。

A medal is not out of the question.

Speaker 1

我觉得瓦尔现在排在世界第三。

I mean, I think Val is third in the world right now.

Speaker 1

如果咱们当中有人,或者所有人都能争取一个奖牌席位,那真是太棒了。

So really cool to see if, you know, one of us can or all of us can try to, yeah, vie for a metal spot.

Speaker 0

你平时会跟其他女孩保持沟通吗?具体是怎么做的?

Will you be, like, communicating with the other girls leading up to it, and what does that look like?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我不确定她们什么时候过去。

I'm not sure when they're going over.

Speaker 1

我们是28号出发,大概提前一周。

We're going over the twenty eighth, so about a week before.

Speaker 1

我还没问过她们什么时候过去。

I didn't chat with them to see when they're going over.

Speaker 1

我可能会发消息给他们,看看能不能在那边碰个头,哪怕不一起训练,至少像上周那样,一起热身和放松一下。

I probably will message them just to see if we can link up over there for you know, even if we're not doing the same workout, but some of our last few workouts together that last week, just being able to, you know, warm up and cool down together.

Speaker 1

不过我们主要会住在博伊西。

But, yeah, we'll be based in in Boise.

Speaker 1

博伊西外面就有一座滑雪山,海拔七千英尺,开车四十分钟就到。

We actually have a ski mountain that's right outside of Boise that's 7,000 feet, and it's only forty five minute drive for us.

Speaker 1

所以我们会上山住着,平时再下山到博伊西市区。

And so we'll go stay up there and then just drop down to Boise Nice.

Speaker 1

我的高强度训练之类的,都会在那边做。

Like my harder workouts and stuff.

Speaker 1

我们其实也考虑过回弗拉格斯塔夫或者博尔德,但这段时间跑得太久了,最后一个月就想待在家,陪陪身边的朋友和社区。

So we thought about going back to Flagstaff or Boulder, but we just have been gone so much that we just want to be home and kind of around our community for this last month leading up.

Speaker 0

完全理解。

Totally.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我好像在Instagram上看到你在找那边的租房。

I think I saw on Instagram you were looking for a place to rent up there.

Speaker 1

我们找到了。

We found one.

Speaker 1

呃,我看了三处房源。

Well, I mean, I've had three people.

Speaker 1

我有三个选择。

I got three option.

Speaker 1

对。

Yep.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yep.

Speaker 1

所以我们这边没问题了。

So we're we're good to go.

Speaker 1

对。

Yep.

Speaker 0

哦,你们已经搞定啦。

Oh, you're good to go.

Speaker 0

天哪。

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我本来想租一个,结果三周要五千块。

Well, I was trying to rent one, and it was $5,000 for three weeks.

Speaker 1

简直太离谱了。

Like, it was insane.

Speaker 1

所以我想着,要是到处问问,或者上新闻说一说,说不定能找到合适的。

And so I was hoping that if I put the word out there or, like, went on the news and said something that I could find something.

Speaker 1

所以呢,幸好我们最后找到了一个。

So, yeah, we we found one, thankfully.

Speaker 0

她是个奥运选手。

She's an Olympian.

Speaker 0

你那边有人打开一下。

Someone open up yours.

Speaker 0

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

不好意思。

Sorry.

Speaker 0

我觉得这边有点延迟,所以可能我刚说完,你就准备接话了。

I think there's a little bit of a delay here, so I think that's why I will, like, say something, and then you're about to say something.

Speaker 0

我刚才想说什么来着?

What was I gonna say about that?

Speaker 0

不过,你那边有能一起训练的人吗?

Oh, do you have people, though, that you'll be able to train with?

Speaker 0

然后,你们平时训练都是怎么安排的?

And, like, then what does the training look like?

Speaker 0

因为之前你训练的目标是在选拔赛上跑出最佳表现,现在得先稍微放松一下,然后再慢慢把状态提上来。

Because it was, like, you train to kind of have the most excellent race ever at the trials, and now you gotta kinda, like, chill for a minute, but then ramp back up.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

所以我希望我老公能多陪我训练。

So I'm hoping my husband can do quite a bit of training with me.

Speaker 1

平时夏天他主要负责带孩子,但这次我妈妈和婆婆会帮很多忙,这样他就能腾出时间陪我训练了。

Usually, he's kinda on babysitting duty in the summertime, but my mom and mother-in-law will be covering a lot of that so that he can do a lot of the training with me.

Speaker 1

另外,我一位教练是本地的一位男马拉松选手,他还没开始为秋季的奥运会或马拉松做系统备战,所以也会抽空和我一起训练。

And then one of my my coach coaches, a male marathoner here, and he's not quite ready to start his Olympic or his marathon build for the fall yet, so he'll probably be hopping in workouts with me as well.

Speaker 1

不过,接下来几周能陪我训练的,大概就这几个人了。

But, yeah, those are probably be, the few that are able to, yeah, hop in with me over those next few weeks.

Speaker 0

伊达·福特。

Ida Ida Foot.

Speaker 0

这个团队是叫这个名字吗?

Is that what the group is called?

Speaker 1

在爱达荷州徒步

Idaho afoot.

Speaker 0

在爱达荷州徒步

Idaho afoot.

Speaker 0

明白了

Okay.

Speaker 0

这个团队有多少人?

How big is that group?

Speaker 0

能跟我讲讲这个团队吗?

Tell me a little bit about the group.

Speaker 1

是的

Yeah.

Speaker 1

从2021年开始,我的教练就只在线上带队员了,我记得他那时候创办了自己的事业。

So my coach was just solely coaching online since 2021, I believe he launched his business.

Speaker 1

他以前是旧金山大学的主教练。

So he was the head coach at University of San Francisco.

Speaker 1

后来疫情期间,他暂时退出了,开始做起了线上教练业务,叫Idaho Foot。

And then during COVID, kind of stepped away and started this online coaching business, Idaho Foot.

Speaker 1

他一直梦想着能去博伊西州立大学任教。

And then his dream job was the Boise State job.

Speaker 1

今年春天,那个职位正好空出来了。

And that opened up this spring.

Speaker 1

于是他申请了,居然真的拿到了,大家都特别意外。

And so he applied for it and got it, which was very shocking.

Speaker 1

我们都很感激。

And we're very thankful.

Speaker 1

现在他手底下大概带了十个运动员。

So then now he's down to about 10 athletes.

Speaker 1

这可是个全职的生意。

And it was a full time business.

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

我的意思是,以前带五十个运动员的时候,大概有五到七个跟我水平相当的,都在努力冲击奥运会或者奥运选拔赛。

I mean, was coaching, you know, 50 athletes, probably five to seven at my level that were, like, you know, trying to make either the Olympic team or make the Olympic Trials.

Speaker 1

他保留了大部分顶尖选手,但很遗憾,因为现在有了全职工作,不得不让很多人离开了。

So he's kept most of his elites, but unfortunately, he had to let a lot of people go just because now he has a full time job.

Speaker 0

嘿。

Hey.

Speaker 0

咱们先歇一下。

A quick break here.

Speaker 0

我们继续回到节目。

Back to the show.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我很喜欢你这么说,这简直就是你的生活。

I love that you're like, this is my life here.

Speaker 0

这就是你生活的地方。

Like, this is where I live.

Speaker 0

这就是我的社群。

This is my community.

Speaker 0

我的家人就住在这儿。

This is where my family lives.

Speaker 0

因为我觉得很多人压力都很大。

Because I feel like a lot of people feel pressure.

Speaker 0

非得搬到博尔德不可。

I gotta move to Boulder.

Speaker 0

非得搬到弗拉格斯塔夫才行,你知道的。

I gotta move to Flagstaff, you know?

Speaker 0

而你恰恰证明了,其实根本没必要那样做。

And you've just proven that you actually don't have to do that.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我见过不少人签了合同就搬走,结果后来受伤了,或者没了支持系统,我就知道那不是我要的生活。

And I've seen a lot of, you know, people get these contracts and they move and then, you know, they get injured or, you know, they don't have their support system and I just knew that wasn't for me.

Speaker 1

你知道的。

You know?

Speaker 1

我就觉得是这样。

I just Mhmm.

Speaker 1

我们在这儿待了五年上大学,后来又待了六年,因为我丈夫在读硕士,我公婆也住这儿,我们真的不想搬走,也不愿为此妥协,所以是的,我们走了一条更难的路,就像我说的,我们依靠主,祂一直对我们特别特别特别好,总是供应我们,我们真的很感恩,也很有福气能住在这里。

We you know, after we had been here for, you know, five years of college and then even a six year because my husband was finishing his master's and my in laws were here like we just didn't yeah we just didn't want to move and just didn't want to compromise any of that and so yeah we've we've done it the hard way and like we said we rely on the Lord and he's been very very very very good to us and always provided and, yeah, we've been very thankful and very blessed to live here.

Speaker 0

你早上醒来的时候,会像那样,在起床前祷告吗?

What is your like when you wake up in the morning, like, do you, like, pray before you get out of bed?

Speaker 0

你早晨的日常是怎样的?

What does your morning routine look like?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

现在有了幼儿,情况有点不一样了。

I it looks a little bit different now that you have a toddler.

Speaker 1

通常都是他把我叫醒,不过你知道的,是这样的。

Generally, he's waking me up, but, you know Uh-huh.

Speaker 1

我们的作息时间表到现在还

And our sleep schedule still

Speaker 0

还是用那种大孩子的床?

or a big boy bed?

Speaker 1

他现在还在婴儿床里睡,不过我们可能很快就要给他换到普通床上了,估计得等到夏天过后。

He's in a crib, but we will likely be switching him to a bed somewhat soon, probably after the summer.

Speaker 0

等巴黎回来之后。

After Paris.

Speaker 0

别在去巴黎之前做。

Don't do it before Paris.

Speaker 1

没有。

No.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

没有。

No.

Speaker 1

在去巴黎之前绝对不行。

Not before Paris.

Speaker 1

然后呢,如厕训练也会提上日程,不过那是以后的事了。

And then potty training as well, you know, down the road.

Speaker 1

说实话,我一般在学习和读经的时候,都是趁他午睡的时间,那是我最专注的时段。

But, yeah, I try to do I would say when I'm really, like, studying and and in the scripture is probably during his nap time, honestly.

Speaker 1

他通常午睡两到三个小时,所以这正是我学习的最佳时间。

He usually takes a two to three hour nap, and so that's probably my best time to study.

Speaker 1

我参加了一个叫《圣经学习团契》的圣经研读课程。

I do this bible study called bible study fellowship.

Speaker 1

我怕我说得不太准,但应该就是叫《圣经学习团契》没错。

I feel like I'm gonna get that wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's called bible study fellowship.

Speaker 1

这个课程其实是全球同步进行的。

And it's actually this worldwide study.

Speaker 1

全世界的人今年都在研读同一本书。

So everybody around the world is studying the same book that year.

Speaker 1

他们每年都会研读一本圣经书卷。

So they do a book of the bible every year.

Speaker 1

去年是《约翰福音》,今年接下来会是《启示录》。

So last year, was the book of John, and this year, the next year, it'll be the book of revelations.

Speaker 0

整整一年啊。

Like, a whole year.

Speaker 1

全世界的人都在读同一本书,这真的很棒。

Everybody around the world is studying the same book, which is really cool.

Speaker 1

我每周三去,会有一次讲座,然后和一群女性一起小组讨论。

So I go on Wednesdays, and there's, like, there's, like, a lecture and then, like, a group study with these women.

Speaker 1

但有意思的是,因为这是全球性的活动,我在博尔德的时候,也加入了当地的小组。

But the cool thing about it is since it's all around the world, when I was in Boulder, I got to join a group in Boulder.

Speaker 1

所以我认识了那些女性,她们会围绕着我,为我祷告,那时我人在博尔德。

And so I got to meet these women, you know, and they got to be, like, around me and praying for me when I was in Boulder.

Speaker 1

后来我搬到弗拉格斯塔夫时,课程已经结束了,因为每年五月就收官了。

And then when I was in Flagstaff, the the study was over because it's done in May.

Speaker 1

不过,能在一个平时不会有机会建立联系的地方加入这样一个团体,确实挺棒的。

But, yeah, that's been really cool too is, like, meeting the you know, being able to join a community in another place where I normally wouldn't have community.

Speaker 1

所以我一般都会趁他午睡的时候读经和做灵修。

So but, yeah, I usually do, yeah, my scripture reading and study during his nap time.

Speaker 1

然后我会在凯吃早餐的时候给他读一点圣经。

And then I try to read to Kai actually, like, during his breakfast.

Speaker 1

他吃早餐的时候,我会念一首诗篇或者箴言什么的,挺有意思的。

I'll do, a psalm or a proverb or something while he's read while he's eating breakfast, which is fun.

Speaker 0

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

我正在尝试从头到尾读一遍圣经,你可能对这个有看法。

So I am trying to read you might have an opinion about this.

Speaker 0

我正在尝试从头到尾读一遍圣经。

I'm trying to read the bible cover to cover.

Speaker 0

对。

And Mhmm.

Speaker 0

我刚看到《撒母耳记上》。

I just got to first Samuel.

Speaker 1

嗯,明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

这真有点难。

This is hard.

Speaker 0

我觉得很多人会说,你得穿插点别的内容调节一下。

I think people are like, you need some palate cleansers.

Speaker 0

不能光是一口气从头读到尾。

Like, you need to not just read it cover to cover.

Speaker 0

你得夹点《诗篇》进去,但我也说不准,反正我就是这么想的。

You need to, like, like, put in some Psalms in there and, like but I'm kind of, like, I don't know.

Speaker 0

我觉得,既然经文这么排,肯定有它的道理。

I feel like, is there something to like, there's a reason it's in this order.

Speaker 0

不知怎么的,我就是想一口气把它读完。

So, like, for some reason in my brain, I just wanna do it all the way through.

Speaker 0

你懂的吧。

You know?

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我见过几种不同的读法。

So I've seen a couple different ways to do it.

Speaker 1

我和我丈夫确实从头到尾读过,但也按时间顺序读过。

We've definitely done it cover to cover, my husband and I, but also we've done it chronologically.

Speaker 1

圣经实际成书的时间顺序,和现在排列的顺序并不一样。

And so how the bible is actually written chronologically is not the order that it's actually in.

Speaker 1

比如,一部分《创世记》之后,跳到《约伯记》,然后又来回穿插。

So I think it's like some of Genesis, and then it goes to Job, and then it kinda jumps around.

Speaker 1

我还见过住在尤金的一家人。

And then I've also seen people that we stay with in Eugene.

Speaker 1

他们特别棒。

They're amazing.

Speaker 1

给我们主持婚礼的那位牧师,他父母住在尤金,已经在那儿住了六十年。

So the guy that married us, his parents live in Eugene, and they lived there for sixty years.

Speaker 1

他们啊,真是让人惊叹。

They're, like Wow.

Speaker 1

都八十五岁了,太了不起了。

Eighty five, like, so awesome.

Speaker 1

所以我们每次去都会住他们家。

So we always stay with them.

Speaker 1

他们每天一起读经,还列了个清单,规定每天怎么读。

And they they do they read every day together, and they had this list of how they do it every day.

Speaker 1

每天就一点点旧约,再加一点点新约。

And there's just, like, a little bit of Old Testament and a little bit of New Testament every day.

Speaker 1

对。

Mhmm.

Speaker 1

我觉得这方法真不错,就像你说的,能读到旧约里那些沉重的内容,接着又能看到新约里基督救赎的应许。

And I think that's a great way to do it because, like you said, like, you get some of that heavy stuff, you know, from the Old Testament, and then, you know, obviously, like, the New Testament is, like, the redemption in Christ, you know, coming.

Speaker 1

所以我觉得,也许你可以试试这样,一点点地穿插着读,是的。

And so I think maybe that maybe maybe that could be what you do is sprinkling something Yeah.

Speaker 0

不过我还是挺喜欢按时间顺序读的。

I think that I do like the idea of the chronological way though.

Speaker 0

就是有很多家谱,还有各种细节,最近几个月我感觉一直在跟土地有关。

It's just like a lot of like lineage and like like a lot of it right now I feel like the past few months has just been about like land.

Speaker 0

就是占领土地的事儿。

Like taking over land.

Speaker 0

因为这是研读版圣经,所以我会看那些注释,了解为什么这段经文在这里,以及它想让我们学到什么。

I'm just like, and then and it's the study bible so then I'll like read the like, this is what you should be you know, what why this is here and what you should be taking from it.

Speaker 0

我一直想这么做,但从来没坚持下来,这次是我读得最久、最接近从头到尾读完的一次。

But I've always wanted to and I've never committed to it and this is the furthest I've ever made it like trying to go like front to back.

Speaker 0

是的,我在坚持。

So I'm Yeah.

Speaker 0

我会继续下去。

I'm sticking to it.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yes.

Speaker 1

你能做到。

You can do it.

Speaker 1

而且我觉得,就算你一年内没完成,至少你也比大多数人做得多。

And even I think the the cool thing, even if you don't make it in a year, like, you're

Speaker 0

我觉得我会坚持下去。

I think I will.

Speaker 1

你已经比很多人强多了。

Doing more than yeah.

Speaker 1

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

但关键是继续坚持,你知道的,这本身就已经很有意义了。

But, like, keep going because, you know, it doesn't Yeah.

Speaker 1

我觉得它能给你方向,这太棒了。

Like, I think it gives you a guidance, which is amazing.

Speaker 1

你明白吧?

You know?

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

当然了。

For sure.

Speaker 0

我很感谢你提到自己的信仰,还愿意谈这个,因为说实话,我并不太了解。

Well, I I I really appreciate that you bring up your faith and that you talk about it because I don't know.

Speaker 0

我的意思是,有时候会觉得有点让人紧张。

I mean, sometimes it feels a little bit intimidating.

Speaker 0

有时候我担心别人会因为我信基督教而评判我,毕竟2024年人们对基督教的评价太苛刻了。

Like, sometimes I feel like people will judge me because Christianity is judged so harshly in 2024.

Speaker 0

没错,有时候确实挺难的。

And, yeah, I think it can be hard sometimes.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

有时候我就在想,是不是因为这个,我才没找到赞助商?

And sometimes I wondered, you know, like, is that why I don't have a sponsor?

Speaker 1

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 1

我不清楚这些公司到底在想什么,但归根结底,我的信仰比任何赞助都重要。

Like, I don't know what these companies, you know, are thinking, but, like, ultimately, like, my faith is more important than than being sponsored.

Speaker 1

我最后总会回到这一点:我的信仰是我的根基。

And that's what I come back to is like my faith is my foundation.

Speaker 1

对我们来说,信仰就是一切。

You know, it's everything for us.

Speaker 1

所以我宁愿站在这块磐石上,也不愿站在别的任何石头上。

And so I'd rather stand on that rock than stand on any other rock.

Speaker 0

在我们进入最后的播客问答之前,最后再说一点。

Well, lastly here before we do end of podcast questions.

Speaker 0

当你人生中做了某些特别重大的事,比如结婚、买房、跑马拉松、入选奥运代表队的时候。

You know when you do something like really big in your life, you get married, you buy your house, you run a marathon, you make the Olympic team.

Speaker 0

你心里其实能预感到,等这一切结束之后,可能会有点失落。

You kind of like can set yourself up for like, I know when this is all over like there might be a come down.

Speaker 0

对吧?

Right?

Speaker 0

就像去年,我特意规划了四十岁生日,心里清楚,等家人朋友都走后,我就会想,

Like even after like last year I planned my fortieth birthday and like I knew that once my family all went home and my friends left, I'd be like,

Speaker 1

接下来该干嘛呢?

now what?

Speaker 1

你说是吧?

You know?

Speaker 0

那你有没有想过这个问题?有没有认真考虑过?

So do you do you even process that at all or have you even thought about that?

Speaker 0

我知道这问题有点怪,因为事情还没发生,不过我们之前聊过,你的信仰才是最重要的。

I know that's kind of a weird question because you it hasn't even happened yet, but we talked about how your faith is more important anyway.

Speaker 0

那你对这些,是怎么想的?

Tell me what you think about that, all that.

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我之前在准备比赛时就想过一件事,还跟几个闺蜜聊过:我的生活远远不止跑步,它已经非常充实、非常美好了。我特别享受当妈妈、做家庭主妇,打理家务,照顾凯,和丈夫一起当教练,也帮朋友们照看孩子。

I think something that I thought about leading into the trials and that I told some of my girlfriends was my life is so full and so beautiful outside of running that it's not my everything, know, and I love being a mom and a homemaker and taking care of my home and taking care of you know Kai and being a coach with my husband and, you know, helping my friends take care of their children.

Speaker 1

我的生活里有这么多美好,远远超出了跑步本身,所以我不觉得会空虚。

And so my life is so full and so beautiful outside of running that I don't yes.

Speaker 1

奥运会结束之后,肯定会有种失落感,你知道的,比如‘比赛结束了’。

There there will be an obvious letdown, you know, like, oh, Olympics is over.

Speaker 1

但我相信,跑步之外的生活有太多美好的事等着我,秋天来了,我会把这些都重新填满我的日子。

But I think I have so much more beauty outside of running that, I think, yeah, I'll I'll fill my days with those things in the fall.

Speaker 1

其实我也挺想念那些被搁置的日常,所以我也很期待能重新安定下来。

And and I miss some of those things, and so I'll be looking forward to settling back in as well.

Speaker 0

所以你有一群朋友,孩子们经常一起玩,你们还会轮流帮忙照看彼此的孩子?

So you have, a community, like, your friends, like, you your kids all kind of hang out and play and you kind of take turns helping out with each other's kids?

Speaker 1

对。

Yes.

Speaker 1

我最好的朋友,她和她丈夫买了一栋房子,离我们家只有五分钟步行的距离。

We my best friend she lives she they bought a house like I don't know a five minute walk from us.

Speaker 1

我的意思是,她真的是我从小到大最好的朋友。

I mean literally this is my best

Speaker 0

从什么时候开始?

friend from

Speaker 1

我们从十三岁就认识了。

when I was 13 years old.

Speaker 1

是的,我们以前总说,等长大了要一起过日子,

Yeah and we Yes dreamed and of

Speaker 0

什么事都一起做。

everything

Speaker 1

她有两个孩子,我有一个,所以我们经常轮流照看孩子,比如‘你先帮我带两个小时,然后我来接替’。

so she she has two children and I have one and so we'll just trade childcare like hey can you watch them for the first two hours and then and then I'll watch them for two hours?

Speaker 1

这简直太棒了。

I mean, it's incredible.

Speaker 1

这简直就是我们当初梦想的样子。

It's like literally what we dreamed of.

Speaker 1

然后,确实如此。

And and then, yeah.

Speaker 1

我们的朋友里,几乎都刚生了第一个孩子。

I mean, all of our friends pretty much most of our friends have just had their first child.

Speaker 1

所以能一起经历这个阶段,真的特别温馨。

So it's been really sweet that we've just, yeah, kind of in this phase together.

Speaker 0

现在大家早就不再靠社区一起带孩子了,但如果你能找到一群愿意伸手帮忙、一起分担的伙伴,那真是再好不过。

We have so moved away from, like, communal child raising and if you can like lean into a community who will roll up their and do it with you there's nothing better.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

真的再好不过。

Nothing better.

Speaker 1

我完全同意,我真的无法想象,如果没有我们现在拥有的这份支持,日子该怎么过。

I agree and I I can't imagine yeah I can't imagine not having the support that we have.

Speaker 0

好的。

Okay.

Speaker 0

我每次做播客结尾都会问这些问题。

I always wrap up with these end of podcast questions.

Speaker 0

希望我们把该聊的都聊到了。

I hope we covered everything.

Speaker 0

是的,差不多了。

We Yeah.

Speaker 0

对,没问题。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我觉得咱们聊得挺全的。

Think we're good.

Speaker 0

从职业角度来说,这个问题有点奇怪,因为你刚入选了奥运代表队。

What is something professionally this is a weird question to ask because you've just made an Olympic team.

Speaker 0

但你也提到,你生活中的其他部分同样充实。

But you've also talked about how full your life is outside of it.

Speaker 0

所以从整个人生规划的角度来看,在职业或生活方面,有什么你还没做过但特别想尝试的事情吗?

So just in the grand scope of life, what is something professionally or personally you'd like to do that you haven't done yet?

Speaker 1

天哪。

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1

这问题问得真好。

That is a good question.

Speaker 1

我确实经常想到这一点。你知道,你刚跑完九零七(注:此处可能指代某项具体成就或经历,如马拉松或特定项目),心里可能会想,天哪,我还能再跑一次吗?

I think something that I think about, you know, obviously you run nine zero seven and you're like, gosh, can I ever do that again?

Speaker 1

我觉得我接下来的目标就是在这个水平上保持稳定,对吧?

I think my my next goal would be to be consistent at this level, right?

Speaker 1

不只是偶尔做到,而是能 consistently 保持在世界前十的位置。

To not just be, you know, do it once, but like to be consistently in, you know, the top 10 in the world.

Speaker 1

所以,对,这就是我接下来要努力的方向,就是在这个水平上保持稳定。

And so, yeah, that'd probably be something that I just be consistent at this level.

Speaker 0

这太棒了。

That's so good.

Speaker 0

三千米十五秒的个人最佳。

Fifteen second PR.

Speaker 0

我们得再强调一下这一点。

I just, like, we have to reiterate that.

Speaker 0

三千米跑出十五秒,这太厉害了。

Fifteen seconds in 3,000 meters.

Speaker 0

这可不是小事。

Like, that is a lot.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我懂。

I know.

Speaker 0

太惊人了。

It's wild.

Speaker 0

你是九分钟以内的越野跑选手啊。

You're a nine o Steeple.

Speaker 1

说来也巧,就在几周前的波特兰田径节上,我发挥得不太好。赛后我挺沮丧地去找教练,说:我真是受够了当个九分三十秒的选手。

And it's funny because I didn't have a great race at Portland Track Festival a few weeks before this race And I remember going to my coach afterwards kinda frustrated, and I'm like, I'm just tired of being a nine thirties girl.

Speaker 1

他却说:玛丽莎,你根本不是什么九分三十秒的选手。

And he's like, Marisa, you're not a nine thirties girl.

Speaker 1

你可是跑出过九分二十二秒的成绩。

Like, you've run nine twenty two.

Speaker 1

但我总觉得,我总是跑个九分三十一、三十四、三十七秒的样子。

But I I feel like I consistently run, you know, nine thirty one, nine thirty four, nine thirty seven.

Speaker 1

所以现在,我终于成了个九分零七秒的选手。

And and so, yeah, now I'm a nine zero seven girl.

Speaker 0

这简直太不可思议了。

That's just crazy.

Speaker 0

你直接跳过了九分一档。

The nine ones.

Speaker 0

你连九分一档都没碰,直接冲到九分零七了。

You skipped the nine ones.

Speaker 0

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

我们根本不需要那个成绩。

We didn't we didn't need it.

Speaker 1

这太不可思议了,当年我在大学时,从10分02秒直接跳到9分42秒,就一场比赛的事。

Which is crazy because when I was in college and I got second at the NCAA championships, I went from 10 o two to nine forty two like in one race.

Speaker 0

哇。

Wow.

Speaker 1

所以我跳过了9分50秒,这次又来了一次。

And so I skipped the nine fifty so I we just did it again.

Speaker 0

对。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

没错。

Yeah.

Speaker 0

你就是觉得,没必要在那个区间里浪费时间。

You're just like, I don't need to mess around in there.

Speaker 0

但你的教练说得对,有时候我觉得,我们因为没在比赛中跑出过某个成绩,就以为自己不是那种人。

But your coach And is right sometimes I feel like we think because we haven't ran a certain time in a race, well, it doesn't mean that you're not that person.

Speaker 0

你只是还没在关键时刻发挥出来而已。

You just haven't executed it when it mattered yet.

Speaker 1

没错。

Yes.

Speaker 1

完全同意。

Totally.

Speaker 1

我特别喜欢这个‘还没’的说法。

I love that yet.

Speaker 1

你知道吧?

You know?

Speaker 1

是的。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我们在教练时也常这么说。

We use that in coaching.

Speaker 1

就是说,我们只是还没做到而已,我觉得,这其实是个挺好的状态。

Like, we just haven't done it yet, I think, yeah, that's a great place to be.

Speaker 0

明白了。

Okay.

Speaker 0

你最近读过最好的一本书是什么?

What's the best most recent book you've read?

Speaker 0

你有抽出时间读书吗?

Have you made time for that at all?

Speaker 1

有啊。

Yeah.

Speaker 1

我最近一直在努力看书。

I've actually been trying to read.

Speaker 1

我读得挺多的。

I'm a lot.

Speaker 1

我是在备战选拔赛前退出了社交媒体,之后就一直保持着这个习惯。

I I got off social media leading up into the trials, and then I'm I'm Always saw that.

Speaker 1

我跟自己说,会一直用到周三,之后就基本不碰了,除非有什么事得帮最好的朋友处理。

Told myself I'd be on until Wednesday, and then I'm gonna be off for the most part unless I do, you know, obligation for my best friend.

Speaker 1

过去一周左右,她一直帮我管社交媒体。

She's been my social media manager for the last week or so.

Speaker 1

所以。

So

Speaker 0

真了不起。

It's amazing.

Speaker 1

我只要把内容发给她,她就会帮忙发出去。

I just send her things and she'll post them.

Speaker 1

哎呀。

But Aw.

Speaker 1

最近我读了不少书。

I've read quite a few books lately.

Speaker 1

我们现在正在读的,或者我跟我丈夫刚读完的那本,叫《曼托尼宣言》。

The one that we're reading right now or that that my husband and both just read is Manthony Manifesto.
